Lots of extra credit given and graded VERY easily

i took western civ with this dude, and he was cool his tests are outrageous and somtimes he trips out but I went and talked to him in his office once and he got me hooked up with like some cool extra credit so I ended up making a B, but like the tests seriously are insane.

the tests are long but if you study you can do well the reviews do not have everything that you need on them and they take a long time to finish i never finished one in either class i worked for two or three weeks lots and lots to read always read out of the book before the reader you dont always need to read out of it he does a lot of extra credit

You can tell he really enjoys what he teaches, and he actually keeps all the information pretty interesting. Over all I think hes pretty good.

Gives the lessons with extreme enthusiasm, Gives lots of extra credit. But students must do all assignments and do fair on all quizes!

Great lectures! he is very enthusiastic and adds facts in that keep history interesting. tests are long but there is alot of bonus. i really recommend him

Very interesting lectures that are entertaining. Does not use slide shows. Test are easy if you pay attention and moderately review. Gives a ton of extra credit on tests and in class. If you have any interest in US History he you will like him.

Lots of Extra Credit!

Absolutely tons of extra credit. Provides plenty of study material, and I found him to be pretty accessible outside of class. I'll be going by his office just to say "Hi" after my classes with him are done. Tests are long, but not overly difficult.

this prof is not computer literate. it seems that there is always a problem with his chapter quizzes online, and he is not good with deadlines. in consistant with tests, goes off on tangents, LOTS OF POP QUIZZES, strict on attendance, difficult tests. he knows his stuff and is an interesting teacher.

Great teacher that is passionate about History and has a very positive attitude toward students. He offers a lot of extra credit.

He has online reading test which suck and everyone does bad on, and then lecture tests that are really easy if you just study the outlines he gives you. Plus there are 3 essays, one a month, that are easy as well. Go to class, he always takes attendance and gives lots of pop quizzes. Do the extra cred for each test rather than the one at the end.

I took this as an online class. His lectures are very interesting and he is easy to listen too. The tests are hard but if you listen to the lectures and take the extra quiz after each test it helps your grade a lot. He offers a lot of extra credit that isn't hard. Do the extra credit, it will help your grade out a lot.

Great prof, just pay attention in class and take good notes. As with every class if you read the book you will do well. I recommend taking this prof if possible.

Took him this current semester and as long as you do the reviews for each test and the essays before them you're guaranteed an A. I don't even own the book but because he puts the notes online its easy.

I took his online class this summer and loved it! It did require an effort, but he offers so much extra credit for each test! I didn't even do half of the extra credit and I ended up with a 100 in the class. And thats with getting a 50 on my last reading test. He makes history interesting and is a pretty easy grader when it comes to essays.

Very easy class .Do all of the extra credit. I did not do the extra credit for the first test but did for all of the others and made bad grades on the online test and b's on the in class test and b's on the essays and still have an A in the class. Take him but do all of the work and study for all of the test just a little and you will get an A!

Awesome Teacher! Great at explaining the historical events, adds in his own stories to help narrate and relate the subject to the students. Provides a plethora of extra credit, and as long as you read the text book you'll make an A.

Johnson is great! His lectures are interesting, and his tests aren't that difficult. He's also good about helping you out if you approach him during office hours. He seems to genuinely take an interest in his students. I'm taking him again next semester and would definitely recommend him!

Johnson was a really great teacher who had a serious passion for history. The tests are very long and hard and his reviews for them are about the same, I would advise making a group and splitting up the questions. Skipping class is a bad idea! I read the main text book and did all the reviews and made an A.

Great prof. He does ramble but it is good information, tons of extra credit, book seems needed but I didnt read it once and made a B which could have been an A if I did the essays and extra credit, attend class pop quizes help alot.

Johnson class is probably the easiest class i have ever taken, he is really interesting and loves history . The tests are super easy if you do the reviews, and if you do them its like a guaranteed 100 on the test. He also gives tons of extra credit opportunities. GREAT class take him for history if you get the chance!

I took this class online and it's very important that you watch his lectures that he posts online. You must take reading tests, and lecture tests, but he does offer A LOT of extra credit. He is very good at emailing back and overall he's a very good professor. I would take him again.

Be sure to make it to class. Gives pop quiz according to class attendance. Tests are long, but not too difficult. Tons of extra credit is made available to you. All the information needed for the tests are available online, including recorded lectures. Overall pretty straightforward and easy class.

I took this course as dual credit and it was an easy A. If you show up to class, take notes, keep up with the reading, and do the Study Questions, you will pass. His lectures are long and sometimes off topic. Provides a ton of extra credit so it is super easy to come back from a low grade especially on a reading test.

Johnson class was organized very well. 3 discussions, a lecture test,reading test, and a short essay is all you have to do before each test(you have like 4 weeks to finish it) His lectures are long and sometimes hard to hear, but his test were straight from the notes. He is a fast grader and gives feedback. TONS (19 points per test) Extra Credit!

ALOT OF EXTRA CREDIT!!! There's no reason you would not make an A in the class. Everything is every explainable, would definitely take again in a different class.

He's a great teacher who really cares about his students. His lecture tests are long and they aren't easy, there's also an online timed quiz for each test over the textbook which can be hard too. BUT there's so much extra credit that there's no reason not to make at least a B in this class. Show up, pay attention, you'll be fine.

His tests have changed since the pasts. They are 50 questions for 50 minutes. They are not easy, so listen to the lectures and read! Do NOT be intimidated by his course. He gives a LOT of extra credit so you can easily get an A in the class. His lectures can be a bit lengthy, but he keeps it interesting full of facts and fun information!

Professor Johnson is an amazing man. His lectures are hilarious and so much fun to participate in. His lecture exams are easy if you pay attention in class, and he gives lots of extra credit. His reading tests are harder - you have to actually read the book in order to pass them with a decent grade. I recommend him highly to everyone.

Prof Johnson rocks y'all! Lectures most all of class but very entertaining. Answers questions genially. I looked forward to class. The work is easy and if you put in a little effort and pay attention you will do well. Preps you for almost all of the info on the tests before test day (do the reviews). Do his inquisitive assignments! Study in groups.

I took this class as a winter-mini-mester! Lots of work for four short weeks. Even though it was not mandatory to do work during the week b/w Christmas and NY, you better or you will run out of time. Lots of extra credit, no excuse not to make an A! I would take again in a heart beat. Answers email quickly! Great class!

DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. Took as online minimester and forgot to do the major essay (worth a test grade). He was nice enough to give me partial credit. Lots of extra credit so ended up with an A. Rambles on during lecture, but I listened to them in double speed. Exams based on lecture and textbook. Discussion questions for each exam.

What a man! Johnson is such a funny guy. He makes class interesting and really has a passion for history. He offers soooo much extra credit. His test are pretty hard though. We never really have any homework which is nice! Highly recommend study groups! BUT TAKE HIM!

Good Professor really passionate about what he teaches. Offers tons and tons of extra credit. Tests are long but all multiple choice for the most part. The class in its self is very lecture based, although he makes it interesting. If you want an A, READ the chapters your supposed to read, it will make this class so much easier.

If you go to class, listen to the lectures, read the chapters, and do some extra credit, you will be just fine! All his lectures are online which is helpful to study before tests. I ended up with a 105. He gives pop quizzes when little attendance. Prof Johnson is very opinionated which can be frustrating but its easy to just ignore him.

This class was super easy! All the tests are lecture-based so I barely looked at the textbook. He offers soooo much extra-credit. All of the online quizzes are on quizlet, and if you study for the tests you are golden. I missed one of his pop quizzes but with extra credit, I still received a 99 in the class. Funny, easy, & educated Professor.

This class requires tests and discussion forums - that's it. Tons of extra credit. I made B's on my exams, aced the discussions (grades lightly), did some of the extra credit, and ended the semester with a grade over 100. Johnson is a goofy guy but knows his stuff.

His tests can be sorta difficult but he gives the class a ton of review guides and note cards on Ecampus. Any average student should do just fine if they use the resources. If many students start skipping class he will throw out pop quizzes like candy till more show up. If you are in class, those pop quizzes are 100% beauties

I took the online class. Tests are split into questions based on the readings and lectures. I googled everything on the reading exams and the answers to the lecture exams were in the powerpoints. The discussion posts and essay are graded lightly. Halfway through I stopped reading/taking notes in this class that's how easy it is. So much easy E.C

This professor is very passionate about history and he knows his stuff well! He does not read from the power points and makes the lectures interesting. He gives out so much extra credit assignments and extra points on his tests that it's hard to not get an A in his class. He's an easy grader and I recommend him if you history isn't your forte.

Just took this class online in Summer I and honestly Id recommend this to anyone trying to get history out of the way!!!!! He offers SO much extra credit and getting As on assignments are given as long as you do what he asks!

I took him for summer II and there was a lot of reading and his lectures are very long. BUT I would definitely recommend him because he hes really nice and gives good feedback. He also offers A LOT of extra credit, so there is no reason for you to fail the class.

this class has a lot of extra credit opportunities and it does take a lot of time but it helps A LOT. He doesn't go along with the powerpoints and goes off topic a lot so you have to finish the rest of the lecture on your own. His tests are very long and I mainly got my grade from all of the extra credit. If you put in the work you pass easily

Easy A. The exams were difficult, but if you actually watch the long lectures you'll be fine (I didn't). There is 1 online proctored exam, but you're allowed to use notes like his powerpoints, etc. He gives a lot of readings and films for extra credit for each unit/exam. Also the essay was easy as long as you follow the rubric he gives.

Make quizlets for his tests and youll be golden. Never took notes and only studied quizlets and made 100+ on each test. Lectures are super interesting and I actually learned so much. He has a real passion for what he teaches so he makes it interesting! Don't procrastinate on major essay! 30+ easy xtra credit questions on each test too. EASY A

He's lectures were very interesting and were actually enjoyable to listen to. He is very knowledgable and passionate about the subject and it shows within his lectures. He gives a lot of extra credit and often gives quite a bit of bonus on tests. Overall I really enjoyed his class. TAKE HIM!!

He has really interesting lectures. He has atleast 20+ points extra credit on each test and you can also get additional extra credit for movie reviews. He has everything up online for you to study like written out notes, and all note powerpoints. But also do your inquizitives they are the key to you having an A!

I thought he was a great prof. He offers extra credit on every test and pop quizzes are extra credit. I was able to make a 100 in the class because of all the extra credit he offered. Tests werent bad because they are primarily based on his slides. Highly recommend this guy!

Mr. Johnson is a great History professor and really has everyones best interest when it comes to grading, i took his mini-mester in December and he was very helpful when i told him i was trying to finish the course ASAP. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT IF YOU WANT AN A!!!! Test are NOT on quizlet.

He is so funny and so sweet. You mostly take notes on his lectures and occasionally have a pop quiz but he makes them very easy. Make sure to take notes hes chill about attendance and gives sooo much extra credit but his tests are hard you really have to study for them. If you do extra credit you will pass no doubt

His tests are super long, but half of the questions end up being extra credit, so it's super easy to get an A if you barely study. His lectures are interesting, but he does tend to get off topic. Luckily, he posts all his notes, slideshows, and recorded lectures online. He does take attendance and gives easy quizzes if you show up! TAKE HIM!

He is one of the most knowledgeable passionate and great example teachers I have ever taken.

The biggest history nerd and is so passionate about teaching this class. Lectures are long but he tries to make them interesting. Tests are super long, but a ton of the questions are extra credit so its not hard to get an A on them. Do your work outside of class and you'll be fine. Took him him for history 1&2 and would always recommend him!!

Took during the summer of 2019. Exams not on quizlet, and I got Cs on most my exams but there really are no other assignments in the class other than some small inquisitive assignments and those are all on quizlet. I got an A+ because of extra credit so I recommend this class as long as you do extra credit which you can get help from by Wikipedia.

Prof Johnson is so good! His class is very lecture heavy but he makes it interesting and not boring! His tests are pretty straight to the point! If you take notes and do the reviews you will be fine!! Do the online quizzes! They take time but are super easy and give you tons of extra credit!! Highly Recommend!! Professor Johnson was the best history teacher I could've asked for. He posts every lecture and power point on ecampus. Gives quite a bit of extra credit for every test and has a big project at the end of the semester. Extends lots of deadlines. Almost all tests were pushed back a week (very helpful).

Took his online class. Watch the lectures and use the study sheets!! His tests and discussions are based mostly on his lectures. Chapter reading and Inquizzitives are necessary. Lots of extra credit. I didn't need the extra credit because I watched the lectures and did well. Tests are all HonorLock. I should get an A.

I have never really enjoyed learning history, however Professor Johnson gave captivating lectures and really took the material to a deeper level. There were plenty of opportunities for extra credit which really helped me since I don't do well on multiple choice. He was one of the best Professors I have ever had!

He's great. He is very passionate about history and that helped me stay engaged. Every exam day 3 online inquisitives are due, as well as extra credit for each test that is available. You do the inquizitives until you reach 100. He records all his lectures and posts them. He does a lot to fluff your grade. Go to class, he gives a few pop quizzes.

One of the easiest professors I have ever had, lectures are long but you do online inquisitive which are a quiz grade and you have unlimited tries on, test are long and hard, but as long as you do the inquisitive and study from his lectures easy A-B.

Took this class as a wintermester and it was time consuming as expected but overall a good professor. Quizzes are easy because you can keep trying till you get 100 & all answers are online. I would focus on lectures more than reading the textbook. Test questions are lecture-based but he does give extra points/credit for each exam. Decent professor!

Prof Johnson is easily one of my favorite profs I have ever had! He truly cares for his students and will do whatever to help you succeed! His tests are based on lecture so if you listen and take notes you should do just fine! His class fills up quickly for a reason! Take him! He is awesome!

Professor Johnson was an amazing professor. I took his online four week class and It was a ton of work and took a lot of effort, but as long as you do the work you will pass. The lectures are extremely long and there are a lot of them. Tests are difficult, but he gives extra credit.

I took this class as an online minimester. Homework and quizzes are super easy, but tests can be difficult if you don't watch all the lectures. He also replies to emails and grades homework quickly.

For starters, I took the 8-week course that was a hybrid class and the material was really fast-paced. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities for the tests that I recommend if you want to keep an A. The tests are 5/5 difficult but he curved every test though so that it wouldn't kill our grades so that was definitely a plus.

In 8-wk blended he had us watch past vids instead of lecturing in-class. I really enjoyed the vids, though & I think fully in-person is his jam. Anything he writes, (syll, tests, etc) are confusing (gram/spell issues). Read all assigned material, though tests are mostly lecture based. Tons of EC. Easy pop quizzes based on attendance. One paper!

Took this class as a full 16 week online course. The grades come from discussion, quizzes, tests and one essay. Discussions require some thought but lecture helps. Quizzes can be found on quizlet. Essay is 3 pages and he grades so easy I got a 100 on everything except the tests. He gives so much EC, i didnt do it but he curved the tests too.

A lot of graded assignments which are easy 100's. He also gives you up to 15 points in extra credit for every exam. It was an online course and his lecture videos were long. Tests were kind of hard, but there is so many opportunities to get your grade up. He is also an easy grader and curves his exams.

Took him for a Winter minimester. Everything is easy (the tests are a little difficult). Grades very easy on discussions. He offers up to 15 points extra credit for each test, and he usually gives a curve. I never bought a book, the tests are mainly over his lectures. The only problem for me is that tests are almost worth half of your final grade.

Took class for 8 weeks. The test are the only problem I have because they are very long but not hard. The test is proctored by honor lock but he does give out quizzes for each unit that are not proctored, he does hand out generous curves. There is one essay that is due in this class, very generous grader. But everything else is easy.

Mr. Johnson has been an excellent Instructor. He offers a lot of extra credit, and it is worth up to a third of a letter grade. The extra credit helped me achieve an A. Do the extra credit because the exams are difficult if you are not a good listener. His work is not hard at all it is just more than most instructors.

He is a funny guy who loves to tell stories. Tests were honor locked and sometimes long. As long as you pay attention during lectures and do the inquisitives, you will pass. One essay that was super easy. Easy grader and curves every test. Also, watch his lectures he has recorded because he will tell you test answers in some of them.

Positives about this class are that he gives a TON of extra credit. Negatives are that it's extremely lecture-heavy, and they're so boring. The hardest part of the whole course was the tests, but he rounds all of them up which is nice. Overall, it's not a bad class just be ready to put the work in.

I really enjoyed professor Johnson. I am not a fan of history and Professor Johnson did a wonderful job making his lectures entertaining and quite funny. He really loves what he does and I respect him a lot. Wonderful course and I will continue to take his classes.

Took his class during the winter break as a minimester, and overall wasn't bad. It was a lot of work, but he gave plenty of extra credit opportunities, and curves test a little bit. He gives good feedback on the writing assignments and is there to answer questions. For someone who doesn't like history, this class was very manageable.

I loved Professor Johnson! I thought he was funny and passionate about his job (even in the early mornings). Lectures are slow, not difficult. READ THE TEXTBOOK: content is not always on the test but you must do inquisitives based on the book which you can keep doing until you get 100%. DO SOME/ALL EXTRA CREDIT! You literally can't fail. :)))

Great prof. I would totally take his class again. Pop quizzes almost every class but super easy and open note. If you don't show up to class, can be hard to pass because of the pop quizzes. He gives tons of extra credit and I did all of it and ended with a 98 even though I failed 3/4 tests. You can tell he cares about his job! He's awesome.

Dont be scared off by the exams. I was within inches of dropping the class because I got like a 50 on the first exam which is like 100 random questions. Im glad I didnt because if you just do like 2 or so short extra credit papers, you can literally get a 47 on the final like I did and still get a 95 in the class

I took Professor Johnson in a May mini-semester and would highly recommend it. It was a lot of work but he is very organized and sends out reminders on when major things are due. He is super easy to communicate with, kind, and gives great feedback. The exams are difficult but offer plenty of extra credit to make up for mistakes. WOULD RECOMMEND!

Good lecturer, though he has a tendency to go off on tangents sometimes. All lectures are online though if he gets behind. Gives pop quizzes fairly often, mostly just attendance-based. I took 1302 during the 5-week summer course, which did intensify the demand to finish work, but I can confidently say that if you want to do well in a history class, take Johnson. He gives SO MANY extra credit opportunities that helped my grade. Although I was overwhelmed sometimes, looking back, I was lucky to have had Johnson as a professor.

Professor Johnson's class can be challenging, but the extra credit and study tools like unstuck study make it manageable. Attend lectures, read the textbook, and utilize the extra credit to succeed.

Took his blended hist1301 was awesome i am taking him for my second history as well! homework scheduled well, tests you know what to expect, extra credit, plenty if assignment's but not too many

I took this as a May-mini. Lots of work. I would not recommend taking this as a Decemer mini but summer is very do able. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. I failed every test and still passes this class with a 92. But it was only becasue I did the extra credit. Lectures are long but I would recommend watching them.

Amazing professor, extremely understanding, and will make sure 3 times over that you complete assignments. Class is very lecture heavy, and he does ramble quite a lot sometimes, so expect to do notes outside of class. He is very kind and is very passionate about his job though, I would 100% take him again.
