He also gives plenty of bonus- 45pts if you do a demo at a school, 2pts for answering questions in class, 5pt bonus test question and 1pt bonus on every HmWrk. Dr. Kolniak is a really good teacher. He doesn't use a textbook, so the tests are on his lectures. He posts his lectures, but goes into EXTREME detail in class. Going to all the lectures is an absolute must. Nothing is all that hard, but you have to put in the study time. He is happy to reexplain anything during lectures that you don't understand.

A great teacher, took his class in the spring intersession. I didn't do the chem demo, but it is better to do if you want to have some extra backup. His exams were pretty easy, and the final was nothing but the same as his regular exams.

Easiest Chem professor. Even if you are bad in chemistry, he gives an easy 45 point bonus, participation bonus, and adds 1 point bonus to each homework. He puts all the notes on moodle, as well as old tests that are the exact same format as the tests given (multiple choice). He also does a lot of Chemistry demos in class.

Kolniak is great. His lectures make chemistry more interesting. He teaches you only what you need to know (no fluff). He also provides his own lecture notes and previous semester exams. There is also a chem demo (group) project you can do for plenty of bonus points. An A is very attainable in this class with decent study habits.

Practice the old test and you will be fine. I never read over the notes just practiced test and managed to have a high A in the class. He gives extra credit and 10 easy quizzes. Take him!

Love/ hate relationship with this dude. Chemistry is honestly so boring, and I only went to class for his "pop quizzes" (which are actually announced). He gives you so many resources for doing well like posting old exams & a 45 point bonus. However.... NO ONE does well on the final because it's departmental-- the only reason I didn't end with an A.

DO the extra credit. He straight up gives you 55 extra points if you do it. The tests are pretty simple because he gives you old tests tests to study from. However, you must go into the final with a solid A because it is very hard. He gives pop quizzes but he tells you abut them the class before. Best teacher to take for chemistry.

Super easy A but beware of the departmental final. It is extremely hard. Worth like 300 points too. But he gives so much bonus throughout the semester. There is bonus on every test, every homework, and a 50pt bonus assignment. Just do that and you'll be fine. There are also quizzes but he tells you when they are and what's on them.

Class is very easy. He posts all the old exams on moodle, so just work those and you'll pass his tests. Gives a bunch of bonus which is very needed when entering the final. The final is departmentalized and super difficult. But the final is always curved, so it doesn't really matter.

-VERY easy tests (beware of the gas laws test though) -Posts all previous exams online -Gives you all the lecture notes -Does cool experiments in class (lots of explosions) -Make sure you study HARD for the departmental final, it is difficult, but there is usually a 10-13% curve

Has easy tests, but make sure you LEARN the concepts and study well in advance or you'll be screwed for the final. Do about 4 old exams before each test and study the homework and you'll be fine. Study for the final in advance, use noteswap for old final exams and learn them thoroughly!!! DO THE BONUS PROJECT.

Dr. Kolniak's class is great (we blew something up in class almost every day). Exams are easy if you practice the old exams. Do the chem demo to always have a safety net for the department final. Usually large curve on final.

Kolniak was an amazing experience. My first semester at LSU was his CHEM 1201 and I never had to go to class and got over 100 percent. He is very helpful and DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. It saves your grade because almost everyone fails the final. He is amazing and would take for all of my CHEM requirements.

He would show up to class with a gargantuan swagger, in his silk blue robe. Awesome guy, really. Did so many cool explosions in class. Course content is straight forward. Hands down the coolest guy.

All I say is that, I have always heard that he is the best teacher ever and if you have the chance to take him, you should and thank goodness I did. He is very thorough, well organized and loves teaching chemistry. One can tell from all the experiments he did for us in class, very inspirational, and it certainly helped learning about chemistry, fun
