New Teacher who is still finding his "rhythm". Very willing to help. Not always clear but is very willing to stop and answer questions.
New Teacher who does not have a handle on the material. Definitely go with someone else unless you enjoy making Precal (a generally easy class) a struggle for survival. Assigns about 60 problems a night for a 4 day-a-week class. He doesn't take it up but holds you responsible for every problem unless you ask questions about it.
New prof, obviously 1st time around is tough on both us and him, but he seems to know the material well enough, just not always clear on it. Very nice guy and helpful if you come to his office hours. If your final exam grade is higher than your semester grade, he'll give you that for the class. Good way to get an A if you were slow out the gate.
It was his first year so that was difficult on him. The tests are not hard but there were too many questions to finish. I had a B- average but got an A on the final which cam from the previous three tests so i ended up with an A. IF you unerstand the homework you can get an easy A.
Hes pretty much awesome and so easy to get an A. I enjoyed and wanted to go to class everyday, but going to class is must to get answers on homework questions you have. His quizzes are super easy because they are problems straight from the homework. His tests are super easy, kinda long but I always finished before class was over, but most didnt.
AMAZING. he's extremely lenient, and understanding. all around good guy
he is tall. his tests are longgg so expect to finish quick b/c there are no extra time. do your home work and you're good to go.
Mr. Lause is one of the most laid back professors, and knows how to teach. He is available after class, do the hw, take the quizes. Be warned the tests are 25 q's in about 50 minutes, so know the material. You can get an A in this class, but a solid B is pretty much a given if you take it serious!
All you have to do is be willing to put in the time to do all the homework he assigns. Do that and you'll get an A, no problem. He's a great teacher and always available if you need help.
By far the best math teacher I have ever had. Took him for pre-cal. He is very clear, moves at a good pace, and is very willing to help. He's funny and makes class interesting. Take this class.
He's awesome! He has to duck his head to get in the classroom! Best advice I can give: do all your homework. That's where he gets his quiz questions. He's very clear and does not try to trick his students. I highly recommend him!
Very unclear in his lectures. He does not know what he's talking about. His tests are ten questions and impossible if you don't do your hw and go to class every day. I would not recommend him. I did all of my hw and went to class every day but would still leave class not knowing what he said. I had to teach myself straight from the book.
Professor Lause was great! Do the homework, go to class, take good notes, and you won't have any problems. Quiz questions come right from the homework, and test problems are very similar. He was more than willing to give help to anyone who needed it.
Yes, Mr. Lause is tall and funny, but he is a little rough when it comes to teaching. He gets sidetracked and scatter brained easily. Overall, his class was pretty useful: quizzes directly from homework, but his tests are crazy. Did we even LEARN that? is the question you'll be asking yourself. I recommend another teacher.
I have always been a pretty good math student,so I went into this class thinking it'd be simple. However, it was not at all.He went very quickly and I ended up teaching myself everything out of the book. His tests were long&over much material that was not covered.I've heard of many better stats teachers
He's a good teacher. Math is really hard for me and they moved so fast. I was not a good student in his class. I had a lot of personal stuff happen and got way behind. He was understanding and patient and really tried to give me every chance to pass. He wanted me to pass. He is a cool person.
Very easy and logical professor, but dont miss a day of class or you will be behind and it is hard to catch back up
Make sure you take good notes and review for all tests. Tests are hard, but Lause will help you out during office hours
Started out as being one of my favorite professors then quickly changed. He went way too fast to try to cover vast amounts of material in too short of amount of time. Tests are too lengthy for the amount of time allowed and most students don't finish. Also, his tests are over a lot of material that was not covered. Good luck!
Awesome teacher. He is funny and he really teaches the course material really well. He makes it easy for you to memorize the important stuff and he constantly repeats what you need to know. Don't miss class! The material is cumulative over lecture. You never use the book for information, only for the homework problems.
Amazing professor, makes stats understandable and easy. If you pay attention in class and do the homework it's hard not to do well! Very helpful in office hours, and a great class for non-math people.
Really funny and nice guy, also a very good and clear teacher. Makes the material easy to understand and if you are having trouble he is extremely helpful in office hours. He wants everyone to do well in his class. Make sure to go everyday and keep up on the homework and you should be fine! Take him for Stats!
As a former US Marine I have PTSD and a hard time remembering steps. Pat was very patient, understanding and did his best to work around issues. Although I failed the class by points, I feel I walked away learning so much more. He does go fast which was part of the issue. DO THE HOME WORK! If you are horrible at math do not take him do the speed.
Class started out great, but went down hill. I got lost and he goes so fast that I never got the opportunity to catch up so my grade dropped. I went in to him for help, and he told me that he couldn't help me until I learned the material, which is why I went to him in the first place...
Great guy, presents the material well! He is sort of like a broken record, repeating the important parts. You MUST do the homework or you will fall massively behind and fail. If you are willing to take the time to do the work, it's a fairy easy class. He's always available to help, too.
He is such a nice guy! I would definitely recommend taking his Elementary Statistics class. He is always in his office when he says he is and really explains things well. Criteria isn't hard, but you need to keep up on your homework for your own benefit!
The material for this class is challenging, but possible. He is the hardest of the other professors ive heard about, moves quickly and assigns more work, but its all for your benefit. DO YOUR HOMEWORK if not you fall behind quickly. Great guy, very helpul and very funny.
He is such a great professor! Keeps you laughing the whole time, and has all these tricks to remember things. His tests are a little hard, but I'm not a math person. You definitely need the book. I would recommend this class to everyone, AWESOME TEACHER!!!
Went very fast and was not clear at all. Went to him for help, but it was a waste of time.
Typically writes one example on the board, quickly explains the process by vaguely asking the class what he did, then says its the student's responsibility to figure out the homework and do well on the exam. Annoyingly arrogant, not helpful at all, ridiculous amount of homework.
For me, the class was almost insultingly easy. He yells at us all day because we don't yell out the answers. But you have to go because he uses different procedures than the book. But you have to get the book because his quiz questions are straight from it. Easy A if you do the homework, but he is infuriating.
There is no reason for you to make a bad grade in this class. DO THE HOMEWORK OR U'RE STUPID! quizzes straight from homework, tests long but exactly same stuff as practiced in class and on homework. He will help u in class and office hours if u want. Ask for help if you don't get it. Don't miss class, be awake, answer when he asks questions!
If you have a hard time in math, like I do, then I wouldn't recommend this class. If you're good at math tho, then I would take it. He is hilarious and really nice, but he moves fast. HOWEVER, if you're struggling use office hours! He really tries to help you and usually clarifies things. Great guy, but I'd rather have him as a tutor not a teacher.
Elementary Statistics is an incredibly easy class if you are decent at math. Lause is a very helpful teacher as well. He is clear, concise, and offers plenty of office hours if you're struggling. Keep up with the homework and the class is a breeze.
He is an AWESOME teacher! So helpful and explains everything very clearly. Truthfully, I don't like math and am terrible at it. I took statistics in high school and hardly got by, but Lause has made me absolutely LOVE the class! He's great! Definitely take this class if you need a math one. It's more interesting than Topics in Math.
Patrick is super chill. Makes funny jokes a lot that keep math class interesting. Late 20's early 30's. STAY ON TOP OF YOUR HOMEWORK DO NOT GET BEHIND OR MISS CLASS. Things move extremely quickly. Pat is suuuper helpful and always has office hours. This saved my grade b/c I'm not a math person. Won't help ppl too far behind b/c they're a lost cause
Lause is a great teacher. Im not especially great at math, but if you use office hours and study the concepts, not the mechanics of the questions you will be good. I walked out with a A- after getting a C on the first test. Do the HW and study it. Test He is willing to put in the time to help you understand everything, but not if your a slacker.
I highly recommend Patrick Lause. He is an awesome, and quite quirky teacher. His class never gets boring and he even will do the homework problems in class for everyone. He teaches in a way that is easy to understand no matter what level of math you are coming in with. Just stay on top of your homework because it can be lengthy.
Such a great teacher!!! Really Helpful, I actually enjoyed the class. I just don't understand stats. Go to office hours because he will help you. Quizzes are super easy but the tests are a different story. They wouldn't be that bad but he doesn't give enough time.
Patrick Lause is an incredible professor. He explains concepts really well and he is funny. He really wants everyone to succeed. Yes, this class is hard but he will help you! It is a lot of work but he is such a good professor that it is worth it.
Professor Lause is my favorite teacher ever. He is very helpful! If yo have any questions go to his office hours and he will explain it and make sure you understand. He is also really funny! There is a quiz once a week that are very easy if you do the homework. DON'T get behind on the homework or you will be VERY lost.
Lause is a nice man, and I can understand why people like him. However, one thing when having Lause that you need to know is it is much more difficult if you have taken Stats in high school. Lause teaches very quickly and in a way that was difficult for us who had already learned stats another way. For me, it was difficult with the transition.
I took this class based on the reviews that were posted and they were WRONG! This class is fast paced. Insane amount of homework, examples and explanations weren't helpful when it came to doing the homework. The calculator was only rarely used only for plotting. Some of us are not in the 18-19 yr old range and expected more respect. Arrogant guy!
Lause needs to learn that you can't just say part of the book is right and part of it is wrong. He teaches in his own, weird and uncharacteristic way, and he is rude and I learned nothing. He confused me and his tests look nothing like his homework. He is 6 foot 10 and intimidates everyone.
I am not a math person and I enjoyed having Lause as a professor. If you keep up with your homework, you will do fine in this class. He is very helpful if you go to see him and he is willing to put in the time and energy to help you. Overall, Lause is a great teacher!! don't be scared by the comments you read. You just have to be willing to work
Nowlin is way better, i should have taken stats with her, but I listened to someone else and took Lause, He has no mercy there's easier ways to learn stats! The final was impossible.
If you aren't a person that will keep up with the homework, this professor is not for you. Along as you stay on top of the homework you should get the grade you want. He makes you repeat almost every concept so he knows that you know it.
Lause is a great teacher! He likes to repeat questions and makes you repeat the answers. Might be annoying but really helps when it comes to the tests. Tests are not harder than they should be. As long as you do your homework, you should be good. Give extra credit for doing your homework, which is completion grade. Take this class with him! Loved!
Mr. Lause was by far my favorite teacher I had all semester. I took Stats in high school and honestly I don't even know how I passed, but after taking it with Mr. Lause, everything was so much clearer. He's amazing at explaining concepts, repeats things several times, gives multiple examples, and is hilarious. Best professor hands down.
Dr Lause is one of the best professors I've had. I am not a math person and loved his class. However, you do need to go to class and pay attention, he can sometimes be very fast. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, its graded on completion and counts towards extra credit for tests. All the problems in quizzes and tests come from the homework. He is a hilarious guy.
Patrick, as he prefers to be called, is the best teacher I've had at TCU. He's really good at explaining the work and before each quiz on Friday he would answer any specific questions we had. Also homework was graded for completion so it was really easy. He's also mastered the art of dad jokes.
Patrick is the best! As long as you go to class and do the homework, the class is very manageable and he makes it interesting. He's hilarious and always willing to help if you don't understand something. By far one of my favorite teachers I've had at TCU
Patrick is the best! Go to class (He'll explain everything best). Do the homework (it's where your quiz questions and points for extra credit come from). Ask for help if you need.
Homework due every week, but if you do it you get 6 points added to your exam. You have to go to class everyday or you will be so behind but he is an amazing teacher and very good at making it all make sense.
Overall this is the hardest class I have ever taken. His lectures are long and monotonous. When students ask questions he would raise his voice and treat us like we were children. His test were extremely hard and the homework was dense. He would come to class about 45 minutes early to answer homework questions. I would not take him again.
Prof. Lause (Law-see) rocks! No, his class is not for sissies. You have a quiz every Friday, which helps you retain what you've learned. You have homework due every Thurs but you get 100 for completion and it adds 6 pts to your exam and preps you for the quiz on Friday. He makes Statistics rather enjoyable if at all possible. Highly recommended!
He requires that you do homework for each unit and it is graded however it really helps you on tests. The homework he gives you is not harder than the problems he does with you in class. Don't skip more than 2 classes as he gives you quizzes every day. The quizzes are not hard if you do the homework. ASK QUESTIONS he is super helpful. He's funny.
I would suggest another class if possible. Wasn't insanely horrible, but definitely one of my few not-so-good experiences here.
Best Calc teacher ever !! Manages a great line between professionalism and being engaging. Would definitely reckomend
Seriously pay attention, or you will not do good!
Most favorite professor at TCU! super-hilarious, an easy grader with plenty of extra credits and gives interesting lectures. You can skip, but you woud regret because he always has good joke everyday. You'll need the book for homework&quizzes (yeah quizzes are from book!), but his lectures are much more inspirational and clearer than the book.
Mr. Lause is very funny and very helpful but if the class doesn't participate (he asks a lot of questions), he will start to yell. There are assignments due every week, quizzes every Friday, 3 tests and the final. If you turn in all of your hw on time, you get 6 points added to each test you take. He gives you practice tests and an 88% is an A-
Very fast teaching and sometimes even says " you won't finish this test". Expects answers exactly how he wants them and does not teach in a way that most students learn.
Patrick is very easy to understand and accessible outside of the classroom. He is willing to sit down and work out problems with you individually. I am not great at math, yet I did pretty solid. He is hilarious also. However, the tests are brutal (especially the 3rd one).Do the HW for extra credit and you will be fine!
Professor Lause is the best. You get extra points on your exams for turning in homework. If you have any questions he's always available to work through problems with you in his office. He makes super corny jokes in class and expects you to participate in class, which I found fun. As long as you study and do the homework this class is the best.
he's very funny and super nice and willing to help you. but he talks about the material way too fast! there is a lot of vocabulary that is talked about but he doesn't go over it nearly enough.
He made the material super easy to understand and is very willing to help in office hours. Super nice and understanding too. Book is used pretty much only for homework which is easy, a completion grade and extra credit for tests. He requires a lot of active participation, repeating phrases, which is annoying but helps with remembering the material
One of those people who was born to be a teacher. He helps you patiently and for as long as you need. You repeat things in class and do have homework due Sundays, but he's very forgiving and will work with you. Do the homework for 6 extra points on tests. Funny (super dry humor), which helps lighten the mood. I hate math but he's the absolute best.
Truly wants all his students to do well. He deconstructs the material really well to make it easy to understand; I've heard of some pretty tough stats profs at this school, but he doesn't make you do anything that isn't necessary. Put in half the work with Lause, get an A, & actually retain what you've learned
Very nice and funny and will try to make class less painful. However, he speeds through lectures so he can try to fit in as many chapters as possible into one class. He does not explain concepts well, which can you leave you totally confused and behind. The textbook is a MUST for his class, that's where the homework comes from.
I'm so glad that I took Patrick's class. He is very smart. Statistics is different from the normal math classes, so a lot of the concepts are pretty new, but he is amazing at giving real-life examples to help us understand. You only use the textbook to do homework. They are for extra credits, but I recommend doing them to practice the problems.
Explain a problem like a high school teacher do. He makes sure that you get the necessary material while you are in class so, will make the read an important equation for multiple times until everyone know it by heart which takes off your study load. There's homework. It comes out exactly like what he taught in class and very few are different.
Professor Lause is an amazing teacher! The class is hard but he is hysterical. If you struggle with math just go to his office hours and you will be fine. He wants everyone to do well and is always accessible to help! He gives you a practice exam with almost identical questions to the exam so if you can do those problems you can ace the test.
I thought this class was going to be easy but its very hard. I went to talk to him several times and he was rude and very patronizing! This class requires way too much work for what it is!!
Lause is a great professor! He makes the lectures really understandable. If you do all of your homework he'll give you 6 extra credit points on each test, which goes a long way. He never takes attendance, but I'd recommend going to every class to understand the material. You have to work a little to master it, but overall it's not that hard at all.
Lause is such a cool teacher! If you want to pass the class, you have to show up, and you have to do your homework or else you probably won't do well. He is funny and his teaching style makes statistics seem really easy. I didn't think I would do well in stats but I ended up doing much better than I expected.
Patrick is the best! If you have to take statistics, you might as well take it with him. He makes it fun and more interesting by using humor and easy to understand analogies. I dont think I would have done as well with another professor. Tests are not easy and you do have to study and do your part. If you do the work and try and youll do good.
I went to like 4 classes the entire year. In class he reviews the homework, usually before most people have even taken notes (prerecorded online), so going to class isn't worth it unless you have finished the week's workload by Monday. Other than that, the routine is pretty set in stone, and tests aren't easy but not terrible. He's a great prof!
Prof Lause is amazing! Very thorough in lecture, goes over everything you need to know. Weekly notes, quiz, and homework. Does collaboration groups and you have to submit logs. Reviews old exams and prepares you very well for exams. Gives 5 points on exams if you submit all the homework for that section. Notes and reviewing old exams help a lot!!!
Professor Lause is a very sweet professor, but not a good teacher whatsoever. This may have been because it was online, but he expects you to learn all of the content on your own through videos and doesn't actually teach you it in class. The tests are SO hard (even with studying) and he grades them very harshly. Do not recommend taking his class.
Awesome professor overall. Clearly explains every concept in class and makes sure we all understand, he's also pretty funny. I struggled with math in high school and his teaching helped me a ton. Would 100% recommend for Stats.
Super enthusiastic, really cares about students' success, the best teacher I've had at TCU. Shows quizzes and tests beforehand so you know what to expect. As long as you study and show up it's an easy A.
I absolutely loved him! All you need to do is study for the quizzes and listen and take notes in class and you will be perfectly fine. Do the practice tests and homework supplements because it's basically the test and what to expect on quizzes. If you miss class he has videos for you online on the chapter. Great guy and enjoyed his class.
I love Professor Lause, he made a night stats class so fun. Also the way he teaches stats is very simple to understand and if you put in the work you will get an A. He really wants everyone to participate, but as a group which is not bad at all. Tests are a lot, but if you know the material you will be 100% fine. If you have to take stats take him
I didn't do very well in this class, but to be fair, math isn't my strong suit. This professor is very caring and really does want you to succeed. Not only is his grading criteria clear, but he gives you good study advice as well, & if you do all your hw on time, you get bonus points for your tests. He's very funny & makes class entertaining.
I took stats with Patrick this year after taking Applied calc. The class wasn't necessarily straight forward easy and there was work involved but its not that hard. Do the homework, study a little for test, easy A. He gives extra 6 points on test for homework completion. Would take again. Also super funny!
Overall a tough class, but if you go to class and pay attention it is not bad at all. Completing the homework on time and understanding it is key to the weekly quizzes.
This class was not easy but if you take notes during lectures go to every class and actually do each homework assignment you will succeed. There is also quizzes after each lesson in the class.
Mr. Lause is my favorite teacher this year. i have this as a night class but he does a great job of keeping us engaged. he has detailed videos over the lessons on d2l that he makes which are super helpful. sometimes he gives random 100's to everyone on quizzes too. he really wants u to succeed in his class & gives u many opportunities to get there
Pat is one of my all-time favorite teachers. At first, I was dreading taking math class, but he made it so enjoyable. He made me want to come to a night class! He is hilarious and caring. Just go to class and I promise you will learn the material. Not the easiest material but he really cares about you learning and succeeding.
I get that this guy is highly rated, but honestly, I don't see why. He assigns homework, quizzes, projects (super tedious projects by the way), and exams that aren't difficult but take WAY too much time. The class I'm in that he teaches is topics in mathematics. Which shouldn't be this challenging but he is making it so. 0/10 would not recommend
Not sure why there are so many high ratings. Gives homework from the book that is not even tested on top of other hw that is on the quizzes and tests. Does not explain the material that well.
He's a nice person and willing to explain, but he moves way too fast in his lectures. He gives few examples and expects you to "get it" at the rate in which he explains the material. Doesn't explain concepts fully and you have to do the work outside of class. There's easier statistics professors, don't make it harder on yourself.
I was optimistic due to all of the 5/5 ratings. Boy was I misguided. He does not have a consistent homework or quiz schedule. He teaches the course as if you already know the material, and gets frustrated & shouts if students cannot recite formulas he went over moments before. He has office hours, but is not helpful and dismissive when you attend.
Pat is one of the best. I think these bad reviews are from people who didn't try at all. I had no stat background coming into this class, but I now have an A+. It is easy to do well in this class if you come to class and pay attention. His quizzes and tests are exactly what you do in class, everything is super straightforward and there r no tricks
If you do all the homework, which is pretty easy to complete, you get 6 extra credit points on your exam. He does expect verbal responses, but honestly, it helps with memorizing everything. His lectures are thorough, if you pay attention and go to class you won't have to spend any time outside of class, besides a little homework. Enjoyable class.
I LOVE PAT!! I am normally really bad at straightforward math like geometry and I thought I was gonna be literally awful at stats but if I didn't have Pat I would have failed. Dumbs every topic down to very very simple terms and if you do the homework he gives you and participates in class he'll make it a breeze. Top 5 teacher in my books!
Pat's a funny guy who cares that his students do well. His teaching style may seem odd at times and he can teach kind of fast, but overall he breaks things down to the simplest level. He is understanding and willing to help you outside of class. If you are willing to put in just a little effort to succeed you'll do great.
Professor Lause is my favorite professor this year. He makes sure everyone is engaged and throws in a couple of jokes so class is never boring . I thought this class was gonna be hard, but he simplifies things and explains everything really well. He also gives extra points on exams if you do your homework.
Pat is one of my favorite teachers by far! For every test, if you did your homework, you get 6% added to your test grade. He really cares about helping every student and is very assessable for help after class. He makes class fun by making jokes and his homework models questions that will be on the test.
Terrible. So unprofessional, and gives way too much homework and projects for a class that is supposed to be for a core class math credit that nobody really cares about. His class is the bane of my existence this year. When you don't understand something, he just yells and mansplains. 0/10.
Funniest professor ever. Many opportunities to practice the material between practice tests and quiz keys, and if you participate and follow along you'll be just fine. Stats is hard and confusing but Lause gives you many resources to help you succeed. Answers his emails fast and in-depth and promotes office hours to help you.
Pat is an amazing teacher! there is Homework, but if you complete it all you get 6 points added to every test! he is an extremely good teacher and he is so good at what he does! TAKE HIM YOU WON'T REGRET IT
I really enjoyed Pat. He cares about his students and is available outside of class. He responds to emails fast and will try and help you over email if you can't see him in person. Attendance is not always taken but if you want to learn the material you have to go. His high energy made the class easy to go to. Def take him.
Yes, I ended up with a C, and yes I wrote a brutal review a while ago when I was rlly angry with him. But I'm so thankful I took him. Take this class if you want to actually learn statistics. I just finished the final and I feel so much more confident in myself when it comes to stats. Thank you Pat, you were actually a really great professor.
Pat is a good teacher, he explained the material in a way that made it easy to understand and if you didn't he was easy to access outside of class and I always felt encouraged to ask questions. Only downside is that there is a lot of homework and tests and quizzes can be a little hard, but overall this class was great.
He yelled at our class and told us that he knew we didn't like him due to negative rate my professor ratings. He's not horrid, but there are easier people to take for stats so I don't recommend taking him. Not a terrible teacher, just moves super fast and gives few examples.
He is a great professor and knows how to teach statistics in an easy way! Very understanding, deadlines are made clear from the beginning, and only 3 exams and 1 final in total. He gives extra credit for completing all homework, too. Overall, he has made learning statistics easy and approachable, highly recommend.
Quizzes, homework, and tests are almost all identical. He is very clear on exactly what you need to do to do well. Doesn't take attendance but has weekly quizzes.
I highly recommend taking Patrick for elementary stats at TCU. His class is not hard as long as you study and attend lecture. There are weekly quizzes every Friday they are not bad as long as you pay attention in class and follow his notes. Also, he gives extra credit on the exams for turning in all of your homework.
Probably one of the best professors at TCU. I am not a math person, but this class was a breeze because he is so nice and lays out all of the material so simply. You an tell he cares about the wellbeing of his students. The structure and schedule of the class is laid out very nicely, and it very rarely changes. Homework is long but worth it.
Lause is a great teacher and a funny guy. The class is very fast paced but super thorough. If you miss a class it can be hard to catch up. As long as you pay attention and do the notes in class, the homework and quizzes are pretty easy. He does a good job of making the lectures entertaining and gives a ton of extra credit if you do homework.
Pat is an amazing professor, I could not say enough good things about him. As long as you pay attention in lecture and take notes, the class is not difficult. I am not great at math, but this class made it easy for me. Also, if you complete all your homework assignments, he gives extra points on your test to help boost your grade.
Pat is the best stats professor ever! Although I've never been the best at math and had a couple rough grades, he always tells you exactly what you need to know. He is also very accessible and will help you with anything you're struggling with. He is also HILARIOUS and isn't too serious. Overall I highly recommend him and would easily take it again
Professor Lause is a great teacher. You will be able to memorize formulas and facts throughout lecture just from the way he teaches. Go to office hours if you are confused about something. He is happy to help. He gives you all the tools you need to get an A in his class. Just don't fall behind--quizzes are weekly.
Lause is one of my favorite professors. Its really helpful to go to class, but you can watch videos on D2L that he posts. There is one hw assignment weekly due on thursdays and then a quiz on fridays, but you can take the quiz early or late. He was super flexible. Three unit tests and one final with a notecard. Easy to get an A if you pay attention
Professor Lause is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is so helpful if you go to his office hours. It is important you understand the homework because the homework is identical to the quizzes and the quizzes are identical to the exams. You will know what he is going to ask before you take the exam.I would 100% recommend Lause for stats!
Pat is a top tier professor. He simplifies his lectures so that they're easier to understand and he's VERY helpful in office hours. He's a very understanding professor and you can take quizzes and exams as early as you want, which makes his class so flexible. Also a plus, he throws in lots of extra point opportunities throughout the semester!
Hands down Dr. Lause was best professor of my fall term. As hard as this class was for me, he was extremely helpful both with being clear in class and during office hours. You can take quizzes and tests as early as you want, and he is ALWAYS willing to help and genuinely wants you to do so well. He's quirky and has great dad jokes. 10/10 professor.
Mr. Lause is a great professor. He makes it very clear what you need to know and makes the material as simple as possible. There are weekly homework assignments and quizzes, but they are short and pretty easy. He is super quick with email and pretty lenient with dates as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend him for elementary stats.
I succeeded in the class because of the way he has the class structured. You get 6 bonus points on the tests if you do all of the homework. The tests are exactly like the practice tests he gives you so you know what to expect. He could be a little rude sometimes and would get mad at us for not participating but overall I would 100% take him!!!
Great teacher that is invested in the whole class's success and will do anything to make it easy as possible. If you get a bad grade in this class you simply are not trying. Lots of extra credit on exams if you do all the homework which is one assignment a week.
Professor Lause is great. The class itself is difficult, but GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS, he is so understanding and helpful. He also gives so many opportunities for extra credit on exams which helps a lot. I am not a math person, but Professor Lause makes the class easy if you just do the work.
Best Prof I've had yet at TCU. So funny, always in a good mood. You would be stupid to not want to take this man's class. It's a challenge and requires works ngl but he's a good guy and will help you. 10000/10
I love Pat so so much. He is hilarious, and he knows how to make the class more interesting through many stories he told us. If you finish homework, it will be automatically 10/10. Exams aren't hard at all if you study. He is caring. I became a tutor of this course for my friends because he teaches so well! Would love to take him again
Pat is THE BEST! I was worried about taking stats because it has many formulas, but the way he creates his notes paves a clear path for what you need to do. The worst math student can get an A in his class if you go to his office hours and engage. He has the best analogies and lets you take quizzes early (like whenever). Truly is amazing!
Pat was honestly incredible. I haven't taken math in 10 years and he gave me more confidence than I could need to be successful. The lectures are very engaging and clear. The math itself is not very hard but it can be complex if you don't follow how he's trying to show you. Learn the pieces!!!!
Super easy great teacher
Mr. Lause was an excellent professor. If you go to class and pay attention to the lectures you will understand each lesson. He is always available to help you whenever you need and explains the concepts very clearly. Before exams he gives you, old semesters exams which are pretty much the exact same to the actual exam. Very useful to study.
Truly an amazing professor!! He really wants to help you succeed! Go to office hours!! Ask questions, get direct help, and take quizses/exams early. Lectures are engaging, participate and shout out answers as much as you can, it really helps. Weekly quizzes, homework grade for completion, 6 bonus points on exams if all homework done on time.
Professor Lause is the man. He made a somewhat difficult topic easy and not dreadful. He uses guided notes that are all on online and if you happen to miss class, the lectures are all recorded on D2L as well. You can take any quiz early or exam early and his office hours are soooo clutch. He's also hilarious. Definitely take him!
Took him as a professor a decade ago at TCC Woah, Baby! He's awesome!
Pat is a really nice guy who makes lessons engaging. He breaks stats topics down well and it's very manageable. You get 6 bonus points on exams if you do all the homework which is super helpful.
Pat was a great teacher; he cares about his students and wants them to succeed all around. When I had homework questions, he was extremely helpful and took time to ensure I understood the problem. On every exam, you get bonus points for completing homework and attending class; this boosted my grade a ton.
I loved pat. Stats is a hard class but he did everything he can to help you. He was very caring and allows you to take quizzes and exams early during his office hours if you want to get ahead. Go to class or you wont do well/ understand material. Make a lot of funny jokes!
Pat is the best. Never in my life have I done so good in a math class until him. You have to put in hard work to study and understand the material but Pat sets you up to succeed. He's truly awesome.
