P-Dog rocks it. His lectures are interesting, easy to follow, and funny. He presents a lot of material in a way that is easy to digest and understand. Pat is perhaps the best professor I've ever had.
Very well organized lectures with funny stick figure pictures. Great guy.

P.DAWG ftw!
Everything you need to know for the quiz's and**** is online. It's awesome.
Great lectures!
This was one of the coolest teachers. Very easy lab and you stay for maybe an hour of the three hours. Easy grader and just a nice teacher.
To me the quizes were harder than the tests. all the old tests and quizes are online so that is helpful. He's super funny and really nice!
Weekly quizzes and in class activities. 40 pts of extra credit available. Go to lab. Final NOT cumulative. Just the 4th exam for the class. Len is a great teacher. Physics isn't super easy to grasp but he does a good job of synthesizing the material so that the majority of the class follows his lectures. He can answer any question, and does.
A very good teacher, Physics is tough but his grading scale still makes it easy to get a B and possible to get an A. If you have to take any sciences take him.
I loved this class. You should go everyday, not only because you need the participation points (from answering overheads with a remote control) but just because it's so interesting. If you're ever lost, you can use his personal site (www.waiferx.com) to help you. Tons of extra credit at end of semester. Quizzes were kind of tough but not terrible.
P-Dawg is awesome astromony teacher! Makes a ton of really helpful metaphors to explain concepts, and classes are at a good pace. Weekly quizzes, but they aren't too bad.
the lab was super easy... a lot of e.c. points available... i took lecture w/ someone else so i only know that the lab was cool...
p-dawg is a great teacher. makes things understandable. only down side is quizzes are hard, but there is ec and easy in class points to help. funny and relates to students great. highly recommend the p-dawg
Pdawg is a bomb teacher! TAKE HIM if you need an easy course. I hardly studied for his once a week quizes and still came out with a B. Just show up to every single class and stay the whole time. He gives points throughout every class that make up for anything you miss on the tests. He is funny as hell too. Do a little work and get an A!
P-dawg is awesome! He's fun and helpful. Great professor. :)
If you do not do well in science to begin with, do not take this class. P dawg is very intelligent but does not teach and expects students to ask their peers for assistance rather than him. I found this class to be very difficult and even if you attend class, the tests and quizzes are impossible.
An excellent teacher with a unique take on teaching. If you do not work well with others, P-dawgs classes are not for you! However if you feel comfortable working in groups, you will excel in his classes. Overall a highly recommended and well accredited teacher!
And I took ASTR 210L. He does not teach he lets the students teach them selves. it was hard for me to understand and he is the best we got so your stuck with him!
Took the 210 and 210L Astronomy with 'P-dog' as he refers to himself(and encourages you to refer to him by this too). OK, while P-dog is a nice guy, he certainly is a terrible teacher. Actually, to call him a teacher would be silly because p-dog does not teach. He clicks links and then assumes/expects that you suddenly grasped the concept spoken of
Patrick is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He inspired me to continue learning about Astronomy. If you are a reasonably mature person (attend class, pay attention, read the textbook) you will do fine.
Patrick is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He inspired me to continue learning about Astronomy. If you are a reasonably mature person (attend class, pay attention, read the textbook) you will do fine.
P Dog is legit. People complain he's hard but they're just lazy. He's funny, and has a unique way of teaching which is a welcome change
P-Dogg (I went with the intention of using Professor Len, but you'll end up using P-Dogg too) is a really great choice if you can study, and read. His teaching is different, and taking notes is somewhat out of the question. But he uses tactics: flashcards, abstract examples, and online study guides that help a student who wants an A! Take him!
I really like P-dog's teaching methods, very helpful. The class itself isn't that hard, of course I'm really interested in the subject matter so thats just me. He gives soooooo many opportunities for extra credit. Also, if you get an 85.7% in the class, it counts as an A. Hes really nice too.
P-Dawgs laid back style makes the class feel much easier than it is. Half your grade is determined by attendence so as long as you show up and pay attention you should do ok. Class is very interactive. Lots of Extra Credit opportunities and he will help if you ask.
Professor P-dog is a very good teacher, If you show up to class, don't text during class, listen to the lectures, ask questions about what you don't understand, and do all of the extra credit, you should get a very good grade. P-dog made this class fun and easy, I would not take this class under anybody else if P-dog is still available.
I only had Len (or "P dog") for lab, not lecture. It was pretty chill, just labs off the internet. The inclass labs are ALL GROUP WORK. Pre/post labs and a little reading you do on internet on your own time. Plenty of extra credit opportunities but you probably won't need it as long as you show up and follow the lab.
I loved this class. It is easy to get an A if you go to class! There's an in-class activity everyday--you get points for for putting your name on the paper. He does flashcard questions that help a lot! So many extra credit opportunities. Do all the online HW assignments--you can get all possible points even if you answer incorrectly.
Heard he was one of the top science teachers and it was true. He's extremely knowledgeable, prepared, and helpful. I only had the ability to take his lab but might take his lecture next semester because he's that's cool. Many extra credit chances. He has you do online surveys that you get credit just for filling out. Fantastic teacher.
P Dawg is the sickest, chillest teacher on the central coast. Took his lab. Just go to the lab and do the online assignment (MUST) and it's an easy A. If you get enough points before the end of the semester you dont have to go to the last classes. Great guy
extremely easy class, but based loosely on astronomy. if you expect to be looking through telescopes and surveying the sky in most of the labs, this isnt the class. however if you want a lab to get an easy A, pick this class
P Dog is really cool. Unfortunately his class is a little rough. Most people enjoyed the lab, and that's great. I however find the labs and the in class activities to be borderline pointless. good class if you like science.
Easy class, but you will learn. Funny guy, really interesting lectures that are easy to take notes on. Tests and homework are probably too easy, but are very short so its necessary to make sure you generally know everything from the lectures. Didn't ever use the text.
How could you not love P-Dog? Impossible! He is probably my favorite prof that I've had here at Cuesta. His class is an easy A if you pay attention and attend class. He switches your seat around all the time so you really get to know the people in your class. It's really great. Thanks P-Dog, I had a great time! <3
P-Dog! At first i didnt know what to make of P-Dog, but once you get to know him a bit you will love that salsa-spinning, pocket chain sporting guy. Its group work every week, which is super nice because you get to know people in your class and its just more chill. His lab is sick too, we always got out early. P-Dog is the bee's knees, just tops!
Loved P-Dog! Very funny, interesting, and helpful teacher. Enjoyed his Astronomy class and Astronomy Lab immensely it is clear that he has a passion for the subject. Very well-thought-out classes and will take the time after class to listen to any concerns you might have. Fair grader. Drops your 3 lowest quiz scores. :D
P-Dog is a great teacher. Group work pretty much every time during lecture which makes things really helpful and fun at the same time. Show up and do the online reading assignments and you'll coast on through.
P-Dog is just an amazing instructor! He's extremely knowledgeable on the subject and he makes class fun! He grades fairly easy as it's impossible to fail his class. Just show up, do the in class activities, quizzes, and online surveys. BEST EVER!
P-Dog is great! This class was fun and enjoyable. I always looked forward to going. The one thing you need to make sure to do is read the homework and look at the online presentations before classes. You will have a lot easier time understanding things since most of the work is online. My advice is to take the lab because it's so easy!
Nice guy. However, the flipped class room technique does not work with him. If he spent half as much time teaching the class as he did playing around with his class blog, the class would be much easier. Be prepared to teach yourself physics, he is more of a tutor than a teacher.
If you've gone through the flipped-class thing, imagine that with trig-physics. Fortunately, he has a point-grading scale, so just keep track of points and take your best shot at exams and it's not too hard to get an A. Use the blog, go over practice quizzes, try to intuitively understand concepts. He's not great, but he's not bad either.
Most of what you learn is on his actual website and he clears things up during class rather than the typical lecture. He doesn't collect homework but he wants you to conceptually understand things rather than just plugging numbers into formulas. The book we used was really confusing; I would recommend just searching online for the new material.
This was fun, we pretty much learned everything in class with little fun reads during the week. We then would do projects in class and once done were free to leave.
He made it that you had to gain points to get a grade, so if i met the point requirement for a c in the middle of the semester i could stop going to class and get a c, even if there were 5 quizes i missed. He also taught differently with a reverse class where you read at home and then did the homework in class.
P-dog is so dope. He made astronomy so fun with so many great analogies to help you understand what is going on with the cosmos. Study last semesters tests and quizes, you're good to go. You would have to try and fail his class on purpose not to pass this class. The flipped classroom learning fit my style. If you're taking astronomy, take P-dog.
I loved taking his class. It was required for my major but I'd still take it again. He has a lot of resources. Use them. His blog and reading assignments are essential, don't pass up easy points that really help you out overall. He also uses Twitter which is great, kept me on track. He genuinely wants his students to succeed. Go to every class.
P-Dog is the best! Super funny and laid back, but also super smart and able to get stuff done. The grading is a little bit confusing as I failed every single quiz, but still made it out with a high B, but making sure you go to class and do all the homework will help you succeed.
Took him for physics, make sure you read the lecture notes before class or else you're just going to have a bit more difficult time doing the worksheets and stuff in class. It wasn't hard at all and he is a nice and cool guy, but not the type of teaching style I like
A wonderful teacher and he will help you to learn.
P-Dog is a great guy. The class is actually easy if you just do all of the work that he assigns. It seemed difficult to me in the beginning then I started reading, and asking for the correct quiz questions the class then became easy. P-Dog is one of the best professors at Cuesta. He actually cares about his students and Astronomy is really cool.
Great teacher but Astronomy is a hard class. Many people in my class ended with As and Bs but you have to work for it. Show up to class, and doing the weekly homework assignments is the key to success. I did horrible on every quiz but luckily the midterm and final is where the real importance lies. I ended with an A thanks to many many flashcards.
Dr. Len is an outstanding teacher. You will have to work hard in this class and put in the effort to really learn the material, but if you ask questions and visit his office hours he is helpful. He wants you to succeed but he's not going to do the work for you. I would totally take another class with this professor. I really enjoy Physics now!
I really wanted to enjoy this class but i found I never really needed to go, as his lectures weren't very informational. Just keep up with the reading.
teaches using a flipped classroom style of learning. So he doesn't really lecture on anything.
P-Dog is probably the best professor I've had at Cuesta so far. I love the flipped classroom and homework was always straight forward and easy. I learned a lot without even trying. The group activities in class were helpful too because other students would always help you if you didn't understand something.
P-dog, is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. His class is by no means an easy A though. There are 8 quizzes and 2 midterms that are all from his lectures and topics in the book, so really just do your reading and you will be fine. There's lots of group work in class too, but it's easy. Besides that he's hilarious and a great guy.
P-dog teaches in a flipped classroom so it was difficult for me to learn the material. However, I was able to get an A without reading the book and just showing up to class. I dislike the style but the class was incredibly easy. He is a very reasonable and light-hearted guy who tries to make physics interesting with real-world examples.
Don't bother with the book just stick to his slides,do all the reading ass. study guides to prep for tests, go 2 class,do in class activities and you'll get an A. Take his lab too if you can, it's really easy. He's kinda weird, I couldn't tell if he was just really awkward or very pompous. If you don't understand the material go to his office hour.
The flipped classroom style presents its challenges, but if you attend every class, do the reading, take advantage of the quiz and exam study guides provided online, and put effort into studying the material, it is very possible to receive an A. Len gives ample opportunity for you to succeed, you just have to develop a strong study strategy.
A very fine gentleman and a pleasure to learn from.
In all honesty, his in-class lectures aren't very helpful. I found teaching myself the material benefited me more. Gives study guides for tests and quizzes that are a good resource. Definitely do go to class though because there are in-class activities that count towards your grade.
P-dog is really nice and is probably the easiest grader I've ever seen. He really wants everyone to pass and if you don't pass this class, you're doing something wrong. He grades differently than most teachers. In-class assignments and the once a week homework will help your grade tremendously, so do them! You will pass this class!
His class was really easy as long as you pay attention. He uses the flipped classroom method. There're about quizzes, midterms, and a final. The point system is very reasonable and gives ample opportunities to boost your grade. His online blog has all the study tools to help the student succeed in the class. Glad I took astronomy with him!
Took his weekly class & it is ran as a flipped class so you do all the reading at home & in class do activities based on what you read. He posts everything on his site so you can preview next classes work. Lots of group work so even tho there is no attendance if you arent there then basically you lose those points. He makes the class enjoyable/fun.
Easy if you put in the time. There are test questions from the past posted on his blog that will help a lot when studying for exams or quizzes. Attendance is taken through group work, so if he doesn't see your name on the paper he'll know you weren't in class. 2 midterms, 6-7 quizzes, 1 sort of cumulative final. Overall very helpful.
P-dog is one of my favorite professors that I've taken at Cuesta. His 205A and B classes are somewhat difficult but he really tries as hard as he can for his students to succeed. There are pretty much weekly quizzes but you have the opportunity for extra credit every time. Midterms are pretty important but he gives as much partial credit as he can.
Had him for ASTR 210 and the lab, awesome professor. I only had the lab class this semester and it was what you would expect. Most classes consisted of group projects/experiments. There was a small current events quiz at the start of labs on topics like the current moon phase. At the end of class we had to make a poster board on a research question
P-Dog is a fantastic and caring teacher, and it was a pleasure to take his class. The sciences have always been semi-intimidating to me, but he really breaks things down and explains them in a way that it would be hard to not understand. He really puts in the effort to make the class understandable for all. Book not needed, just go to class.
Easy A if you put in the work. Don't buy the textbook, you rarely use it, he has lots of hw questions on his website. He's helpful in office hours and wants his students to succeed, one of the best professors on campus. I would recommend to make a study group in his class it helps a lot when studying for exams, old exams are posted on his website.
Dr. Len is very knowledgeable and a great professor, in both his lab class and the non lab class he was very competent with his handling of the transfer to an online course during this current pandemic, and he was always there to answer questions or offer help day or night. I really don't have anything negative to say about him, he's great.
This is my first time rating a professor, and I only made this review because Professor Len (P-Dog) is just that great. He wants you to succeed, so if you put forth a sufficient amount of effort, you will find yourself with not only the grade you desire, but some laughs and knowledge as well.
Physics used to be one of my least favorite science classes, but Professor Len made the class very interesting and easy. As long as you take the time to listen and study how the equations work and the science behind everything, this class is a breeze. Honestly a truly fun and amazing teacher as well!
This is the best professor at Cuesta!!! He is very understanding!
P dawg! Such a fun class and fun professor! Beginning course material is a breeze and gets more difficult as the semester continues. He ended up dropping our 3 lowest quiz scores and grades based on a point system. I ended up having enough points for an A before the final so didnt have to take it. Would take again. Learned lots and had fun.
Seriously the best professor I've ever had! Absolutely fantastic quick lectures that are SO well made! He truly cares about his students & wants everyone to succeed. Professor Len grades quickly and kindly. Quizzes can be taken multiple times and the exams are straightforward.
Literally one of the sweetest & best professors ive had here at Cuesta. Please do not procrastinate on his assignments! He is funny & not strict with assignments, but dont take advantage of that because the work will add up. I took his lecture and lab at the same time and have passing grades. Put in the work and effort and youll pass. have fun!
one of my fav professors so far! lect and lab are an easy A if u do the hw. grades are point based, and he drops your lowest quiz grades. probably do not need the textbook bc most of the quizzes are based on lect vids. responds super fast as well. if u are looking for an easy and fun class def take it w dr len!
I enjoyed Professor P-Dog largely because I enjoyed the subject matter and took time to work outside of class. If you aren't interested in the class, you won't get much out of it; You can probably skate through without actually learning much. The units were well organized and the work was pretty cool though. Would reccomend.
I had this class online and it was well organized. He is super understanding and flexible but there are quizzes often and two midterms and a final exam which are all two parts (but fair). Great professor, good class.
prof len is my all time favorite professor. would recommend 10000%. he makes everything easy to understand and reinforced my desire to go into the astr field. honestly, i could go on and on, but long story short, take his class. you will definitely not be disappointed
i took this class not expecting much and walked away an astronomy major and with a new level of expectation for professors. professor len is probably one of the best teachers ive ever had. he genuinely cares about his students and teaches the subject material in a way that actually matters (and that makes sense). i definitely recommend his class!!
10/10 Homework consists of discussion boards based off of videos re/preview multiple-choice quizzes that you can take as many times as you want until you get full credit. he gives you practice quizzes and exams and tells you exactly what is going to be on them. very easy to pass with an A, labs are easy w/ given formulas as well as on quiz / exam
I was scared to take physics but Dr. Len made it so easy. Lectures were easy to understand and he used fill in the blank style notes. He is super nice and caring and most deadlines were flexible. Workload wasn't too heavy. Answers emails very quickly and thoroughly. Study guides provided for every test and full answer explanations were given after
He is by far one of the most organized and punctial Professor I have ever had! Lectures were very creative! He designs his own study material and it's very easy to comprehend! If you ever had a question he responds to you immediately. Even though the class is accesible online it's important that you do still attend the lecture!
P-Dog is a fantastic teacher. He really cares about you learning the material and not just getting good grades. Every week we had a couple of short lectures, some reading, and then hands on exercises. Absolutely would love to take a class with him again.
Professor Len is amazing. He is clearly very passionate about teaching and the subject matter. He is also super understanding, if you need an extension, you just have to ask and he'll let you. His class was also very interactive which made it fun.
I am a bio major who took physics over the summer...failed. Then I took P-dog's physics class and received an A. Instructions are very clear and he explains things very well.
I recommend taking this class. Assignments and discussions are not hard. Be prepared for midterms that are part free response. His coursework is revolved around his own curriculum so you can't just rely on outside sources to pass, you have to specifically know his concepts and what he teaches. He keeps the lecture videos entertaining. Great class!
I have taken astronomy, physics 201A and physics 201b all with professor Len and I have to say that he is one of the best. He gives many opportunities to gain points or make up for lost points, almost everything can be done after the due date for full credit, and he is almost always available even outside of office hours.
The class had some assignments that could be a little difficult, but Len would always reach out if something was wrong so you could correct it. Most of the stuff was pretty easy. He's a nice dude, really responsive and very helpful if you need it. Every assignment was online. No midterm, no final. The homework was very interactive and engaging.
Dudes such a chiller
Great Professor! Assignments every week with unlimited attempt quizzes, and overall are very chill. Definitely recommended for both the Lab and Class.
