Prof. Lloyd replaced our chem teacher one day; he was absolutely amazing!!! He took a subject that was completely chaotic and made it into something absolutely beautiful!! He definitely is gifted in explaining and making students understand. I look forward in taking is chem class next semester!!
he's really easy to understand and is very through with the information he wants to see and basically gives you the quiz and exam examples when he's reviewing. i'm looking forward to taking his class next semester.
chm 11 Pretty good. I never knew water can set things on fire (i.e. pure sodium)
Easy to understand. Gives review exams. Average tests. Just take nones and understand the material.
I had Mr. Lloyd all the way in high school for Physics and I loved his class. I recommend everyone takes his classes because he is the best. Funny and Smart and the greatest teacher ever
He's a very mean teacher. No help, even if a student has a question.
has very good teaching ability
Explains the subject in a clear manner. If you dont slack off and do well on the quizes you can get an A.
he is the worst teacher i ever had in college. if u have a question and u need urgent help, dont ask him cos he would tell u to go and study more for better understanding. i came to college to learn and not to read all books by myself without any help from a prof
has a good grasp of chemistry and is clear in tone; but he wasn't to helpful clearing certain problems for students. pretty much leaves u alone which is not a good thing. doesn't show teacher/mentor relationship. which is critcal in teaching this subject.

Had him twice and got A twice. All you have to do is homework problems and that's what is on the tests and on the finals.
Prof. Lloyd is very good. Take his class, dont hesitate...you can learn from him.
If you want to be in this field( chemistry) He is a very good teacher, very good explanation of material, review for all tests, answers on all questions.......very very good teacher!
man... i hated chemistry since the get-go in CUNY Hunter--but this guy made me forget my anger and fall in love with it again. i hated math, but since i understood concepts so clearly with his lectures, i don't loathe it as much. great at explaining, and making funny side-comments during lab. wonderful guy to have, ESPECIALLY for this coursework.
Great guy and hot hot hot
He is a very good teacher, he explains well and will help if you don't understand and he is the most clearest ptof. i've ever had. If you work hard you'll get a good grade; he's grades fairly.
how did he become so darn good???
Now he very condensending at times, almost like he want you to look dumb. Many students dont wanna ask him questions, cuz of that. Overall good teacher, knowledgable. Exams can be diffucult, he takes them right ouuta book. He seems active in Student Life, but must adjust attitude. His class average is a D. Buyer beware!
Prof Llyod is a good prof if you want to learn, but his lecture quiz are extremely hard
The worst prof. I have EVER had. Please don't take his class. You'll regret ever taing the class or meeting him. Whoever said he was hot needs glasses. Stay away from this incompetent prof. He is in the wrong prof. He probable failed at every other job he ever had. KCC needs to fire him.
I don't know what the fuss is. He is not a bad teacher. if you study or pay some attenntion in the class his test are not that hard. Take it from me this is my first chem class ever and i'm doing good.
He is one of the hardest professors i have ever had and i took him twice!! He is a good teacher when it comes to teaching, but his tests are monsters to take on & pass! On the third test over the Summer his class average was 42% and that was a C, and A was a 60% and only 2 people got that! Go in his class and start praying to pass with a C!
This is the WORST professor if you can avoid him DO! If you ask him if a lab project is being done right he will say yes no matter what even if its WRONG or tell you I'll tell you after you hand it in. NOT helpful, lousy teacher, gets upset if you don't get what he says the first or second time. HE WILL LOWER YOUR GPA. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
i dont know why most of the students say that he is a monster. HE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST PROFESSORS IN KCC. he knows the subjest and explains it very clear...
I took this course with e-permit from Hunter and I really glad that he was my teacher. Really easy A considering that it is a chemistry which is one of the hardest courses. so far he is one of the best teachers I ever had.
one of the greatest prof. he can actually teach. awesome. open to any discusion after class n always willing to help! test are hard please remember study past exams on the school website. takes it from their on his test! good luck
good professor!the first day of classes u might thing he is horrible, please DON'T.he is ALWAYS available if you have any question.never takes attendance, but its up to, u if u miss any class u will be far behind.also if u take him try to read Chang chm book star of the first day, because he uses differant one, but this one is very helpful.
He is the BEST BEST BEST professor u can ever have for Chemistry. He is willing to use his break to explain anything u dont understand..He explains very clearly and gives a lot of examples. His tests are easy if u understand what he teaches in class.
Professor Lloyd is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. This is a hard class though. If you pay attention, take notes, and do the problems he assigns, you will do well. He takes the trouble to pick out problems for us to solve. Great professor. Thank you Professor Lloyd.
the best chem prof very helpful!
really great teacher!
I took General Chem I this summer 2012. He is very helpful (and FRIENDLY) and answers any questions you may have. lenient grading as well
I wasn't expecting much going in, but he is a fantastic professor (and I don't use that word lightly). I didn't buy the book, yet with casual readings of the Zumdahl in the library and his lectures, I feel as though I completely understand the subject and what I need to improve. He is soft-spoken, but clear and you can tell he loves the subject.
Very nice professor, when it comes to grading, he really will give you better grade that you deserve, but you do have to study, no multiple choice, which will make you smarter, after all it is a science course. You can study based on his previous test which is very helpful. He will answer if you ask. Defiantly recommend, but you do have to study.
Goes by the chapters fast(winter). Gives reviews prior to exams. His labs do require extra work compared to other professors, but he's always there to help when needed. For someone that has never taken chemistry before college I find it to be challenging. Even so, I still find the class to be helpful. He's an awesome and very understanding guy.
This professor, consistently makes life difficult for the students. He requests a pre lab assignment, and an extensive post lab write up. And each is subjected to strict scruitiny. And get this. if you get something wrong he will not even give you a grade for the assignment and instead ask you to revise the lab, again and again and again. Be WARE
Love Him! He is the best, the way he explains stuff and help if you have any issues. For people who don't like him, try to get to know him first, he absolutely loves what he does. A little bit stricter than others in lab, but recommend him for lecture. No multiple choice, but gives partial credit. Will definitely take him for CHE 1200
the best chem professor
I do not recommend this professor especially if you are taking chem for the first time. He gives some of the most unfair questions on exams that most students in the class fail. The exams are not multiple choice. Very tough grader so just beware if you are going to take him.
He has patience to teach students, but his test s are tough. He gives you crystal clear lectures and answer all of your questions. If you practice and do work hard then you can easily get A; he doesn't give A+. I've taken him for Chem 11 and Chem 12, and on both I got A.
He's clear concept, answer all of your questions. Tests questions are tough. So do practice and work hard, then you can easily get A. On exam hall he never answer your questions, but will listen your question.
He really loves his subject, and it shows. He goes out of his way to explain what you did wrong on labs and tests and is eager to answer questions from the homework. He explains the concepts pretty clearly and really gives you a sense of what Chemistry is all about. If you work hard, do homework, get help, really study, you can do well.
I don't know if its me but his class wasn't working for me I thought as if his lectures was nothing you would see in his exams and the way he approached the lectures was confusing without showing other methods of calculation.
He explains the lesson in a perfect way . And be clear . Listen to every student problems and try to make them understand the solution
HE is a very respected professor. 3 exams including the final. you have to do the homework in order to pass the exam. his lectures are clear, and hes in eager for asking the question. definitely do the homework. very easy professor. he goes over every question. the exam is 10 questions or even less. and finals was 8 questions. hes understanding
hmm where can i begin... i took him for chm100&chem11 & i believe he's fair. i mean i don't understand him sometimes but you can really tell he knows his chem and the passion and love he has for teaching it. he loves for students to ask question and he loves to answer them. my advice is to study study study tutoring and hw. i mean i passed : )
This professor is one of the best in kingsborough, real clear and explain everything answers all the questions you have, but he's really not such a feedback giving, he makes you feel is above and smarter than you, and has no patients for questions in labs, if you didn't understand something you basically screwed. test are not from the book
He's really smart w/ knowledge vast beyond just chem and you can tell he really loves chemistry. Chem is a difficult class, no matter the prof. He'll try to work w/ his students strengths, total grade wise but he won't baby you so you get the grade you want cause he wants you leaving his class knowing what you're suppose to. Need to put the effort.
This class is a lot of work with whoever you take it so do the reading and homework assignments because they help. He is by far my favorite science professor. Will answer all of your questions. He really loves chemistry and it was a joy to his student. I would take his classes 100 times if I could! Do the work and study hard though!
I took Lloyd for chem 100. he never took attendance or knew our names. it was a hybrid class which sucked bcuz we had to learn on our own, he did help as much as he could. when Lloyd lectured he was clear and understandable but due to the short in class time, it wasn't enough. every thing was Alex based HW, Textbook and exams. you are on your own.
Awesome professor! Had him for chem 1200. His teaching method is very clear, also there is online homework which is 30 % of your final grade. I learned a lot from him, shouldve had him for all chem classes
Excellent professor, I've learn a lot from him! His exams are very easy, as long as you study the questions he taught in class you will be fine! Easy A. Very happy I took him. He is extremely kind and has a passion for chemistry. There is online HW (ALEKS) counts 30% of entire grade. 3Exams - 10 Questions. No multiply choice though.
He makes us do the aleks online homework assignment. Which is a lot and that is 30 percent of the grade. He lectures are not helpful at all. Exams from the book. He expects a lot from his students. I regret taking his class
Great professor, took a class taught by him a few times and would take again. Teaches a challenging course but if you put in the effort you will surely do well. Highly recommended.
An absolutely great professor, easily my favorite between 2 colleges. An extremely intelligent chemist with a vast knowledge of all sciences. He never bothers with attendance but I recommend you attend all lectures. Very helpful but be aware he babys no students whatsoever and is there just to do his job. But I highly recommend for any chemistry.
You never get to really know the best side of this professor until you actually have a one on one with him. Amazing, he is relaxed and takes time to explain the difficulties you may be having. However, you have to put in to get out. Read, do your homework and ask questions.
Attendance is not mandatory, however, if you skip many classes there is no shot you're passing. You need to actually go home and study in order to receive a good grade. Amazing human. He gives out his phone number so you could text him if you have any questions, whether it's about chem or just life. 3 tests 30%, online hw, 30%, Lab 10%, Final 30%.
Prof. Lloyd is brilliant. The only thing i found unnecessary was the Aleks pie which is worth 30%. If you get a solid 100 on Aleks and labs with decent test scores, you can easily get an A. He curves by a lot (88 is an A in his class). Go over his past exams and you'll be good. He is very strict in lab and hates repeating himself. Good luck!
Make sure you are detailed during the exam. He can be brutal with points. Neatness counts as well. The final had 26 questions mostly from all of his exams. Dont delay Aleks and get it done quicker because its a difference between an A or C
Unprofessional way of communication. Sounds like a teenage boy. Completely uninvolved with the class when it comes to the online course.
I had Professor Lloyd in the summer for chem 11. He posted his lectures and homework help on youtube. He explains things very well. As for the course requirements, majority of the credit came from ALEKS. It was a lot of work but his tests were essentially based off the HW so come exam time, you should be prepared. Highly recommend him for GEN CHEM.
Prof LLyod is the best. all your assignment is on Aleks. do the work and you will be fine. took him for intro to chem and chem 1100. Easy A. Just do the work on Aleks trust me and you will be fine. Aleks is alot of work but don't wait at the last minutes to complete.
Great, caring professor! The class was not super easy (I mean, chemistry) but very straight forward. It was not hard to get an A with persistence and commitment to doing the homework and learning the content. Professor was very available to answer questions outside of class. I highly recommend Lloyd.
1) 65% of grade is from Aleks online homework 2) Exams 30% total of 6 3) 5% Lab You will have to put in the time and effort for the homework. Make sure you know which formulas to use and recognize the concepts and you'll do fine on the exams. Lectures aren't necessary tbh but some people like/need them I guess
Amazing professor. I am so fortunate to have taken this professor when coming back to school. He is very thorough in his explanations. Aleks can be confusing if you do not watch his lectures. He is very knowledgable, and his lectures all connect and make sense. Chem is alot all together, but the way he breaks it up you will definitely learn. 10/10!
Amazing professor. Very clear and concise. Lectures are slow, with a lot of context but you will learn soo much. He thoroughly explains everything, and is very patient with even repeating himself if needed. He really cares for students, communication is key.
So grateful for his live online lectures every morning! He teaches with exceptional clarity and gentle pacing. The ALEKS hw is pretty quick. Practice tests & exams on ALEKS too, which makes it all very straightforward. (FYI the Lec I took was async, but I really enjoyed the more sync'ed structure. Lecs are not mandatory if you cannot attend.)
I wish all professors were like him. All of his assigned work was very clear and just the right load for the semester.
Good professor but it's a lot information to take in. Will definitely take again.
Very good professor, explain things clearly. And always willing to help you if you don't understand topics.
Professor Lloyd is the best professor I've ever had! I never liked chemistry in high school, but he made me fell in love with chemistry. He is very calm and explains clearly. Always helps. I'm so thankful to him and really appreciate his work. My Favorite Professor!
Great Professor. I would take him again. Very kind and wants his students to succeed.
Very nice professor. He is not gonna give you hard time. Just listen the lectures and you will pass all the tests
Such a great and nice professor! Had him for Chem11 as well. We used Aleks not textbooks. Even though Aleks seems like you would be learning on your own, he does explain everything in lecture in a great and easy way. Last couple of minutes of lecture he explains the lab procedure.
The man.
There's a lot of aleks assignments but the professor is really nice and understanding if you miss a few. He also does zoom calls for tutoring which helped me a lot. Genuinely the nicest professor I ever had and if I could I would take him again.
Great Professor. I would take his class again. Very helpful to his students and encourages students to achieve their goals. Thank you very much
Prof. Lloyd is probably one of the best professors at KBCC. He teaches extremely well and explains each concept very well. The labs are extremely easy and was able to finish them in two days. I didn't struggle at all during the course of this class. Highly recommend taking him for CHM1200.
Professor Lloyd is an amazing professor and person in general. Make sure you take his class for Chem 12. He is thorough and understanding. Makes chemistry way easier to understand. The grading is fair. You do the work online and it sets you up very nicely for a good grade.
Amazing professor. Very nice demeanor and caring. His grading of labs is good, and I was able to type out reports with confidence knowing that he'd be able to correct me. Or at the very least, give some insight. I was also able to ask for help with acids and bases, and he was great at explaining the concept. Wish him all the best!
