My professor is awesome, fantastic, fascinating and I learned so much from him. He gives specific examples and simplifies the meaning of the topics. Prof Sheil does an awesome job keeping the class engaged and makes it very easy to understand business concepts. Hes a big Giants fan and has a great sense of humor. He doesn't give much HW but make sure to pay attention for the exam and follow your project. He doesn't ask for much at all except your attention and participation.

Professor Sheil, approach to intro business lecture is based on communications through the class he interacts with the students to get them involved in the art of business collaboration, student inputs, negotiating, and definitely not boring will keep you entertained throughout the semester. Makes class very interesting and enjoyable. However sometimes students in general will diverge and go off topic. As a result not much time was spent on the chapters, and by the end it was pretty much playing a catch up game.

He would open up talking about business. Then most the class was a discussion of business topics. He would read out the relevant definitions and let you know what topics were for the essay. He is straight and to the point. You will need to study for the two tests. The projects for the class were easy. He has you pick five stocks and discuss why they went up or down. He will teach you that everything is a negotiation.

Pat Sheil is an asset to the business department. He motivates students, and teaches real life business. He is preparing you for the business world. Very funny and knows his stuff.

Actually enjoyed going to classes on a Friday night, you know it's either a good class or a good teacher for someone to say that.

He is very clear in his lessons. As we go through each chapter, he points out the words that will be included in the tests. He also lets us know what essay questions we will expect to see on each test, making it easier for us when they are taken.

Great processor, you can clearly see he enjoys teaching and truly cares for his students. Lectures are based on the text and current business events. The professor makes references and gives examples that are easy to understand. No homework, just two projects and tests.

I am a middle age, single mother of two children ( 13yrs and an 83 yr old!). This was one of two classes I am taking after being out of school for many years. Mr. Sheil made the 8am Saturday morning class a very pleasant, interesting, informative and especially easy for me to adjust to the newness of getting acclaimated to a very challenging start.

He is: -well-educated - it was interesting to listen to him -motivating to study and to work for our dreams -caring -straightforwardly His class was always interesting and funny at the same time. He gave everybody a good feeling to come to class and to have fun while studying.

Really engaging teacher.

Really fun class and learned a lot about business and stocks. He gave us knowledge he knew we could take out of the classroom. Saturday 8am was tough but he definitely made the time go by smoothly and I would no doubt take this class again!

Initially, I wasn't too invested in business but after having him as my professor, I couldn't help but see business in a different perspective. Every class is always informative and the professor teaches in a way that entertains you. Definitely a class worth taking and a wonderful professor to teach an introductory course!

Transparent syllabus, if you dont show up to the lectures you can probably get away with passing but youre just shooting yourself in the foot by missing out on what he has to provide.

He is very realistic when it comes to today's business world. My favorite quote from him is "who promised you fair?" and he is right. The world is not fair. A lesson learned from this class can be recycled again later in life.

The professor will teach you a lot about the outside world. He is understanding and loves telling us stories about his careers which are influential. Make sure you come to every single class because he tells you about the questions that will be on the test. You have to memorize a lot of vocabulary for every test and 2 open-ended questions.

Great guy classes are fun though Im an afternoon class that is fairly long he keeps the whole class entertained the whole time and is fun to listen to. Also an easy grader who is always willing to talk and help you out with anything.

He gives you the essay questions during the lecture, as long as you memorize the vocabulary words on the side lines of the book you will pass. Never read the chapters and still managed an A. He curves the test so no one fails.

Bus -101 I took the spring class and I enjoyed every bit of the class. I learned a lot in this class. Starting from shares and credit cards . I also came to know a lot about how to open up a business. Its only 2 exams one midterm and final .2 projects. He literally says every thing what you have to study. Overall great professor. Professor Sheil is absolutely amazing! He's funny and makes learning exciting. There is 1 project and only 2 tests, the mid-term and final. You MUST STUDY FOR for these tests, it's a big part of your grade. He will provide SOME of what's on the test, but not all, because you are expected to study! He is very easy going and a friendly professor.

Going to class was enjoyable, learning felt like an ongoing conversation supported by the textbook and informed by his experience. Nice balance that was engaging and peaked curiosity. Alot of reading but thats the nature of psych, very little assignments so a strong grasp of your own study technique is needed, but thats another good lesson anyway.

Very clear lectures and lots of examples of real life experience. This class does not resumes its importance based on the matter of credits, but an knowlege for life. The class is never boring because Professor Sheil always has a way to entertain the class and never fails to listen to each students opinion or answer their questions. He also always is consistent with showing support for his students future.

The only grades are 2 tests so if you bomb one its going to be hard to bring your grade back. studying for the tests can be challenging because of this. He requires detailed definitions for the first part of the test. This requires memorizing up to 50 words for one test.
