Amazing Prof!! I'm a third year student, and of all my profs this guy is among the very top if not the #1 prof. Calc sucks, let's face it, but he's willing to put in so much effort and extra time. Very clear, and patient. GREAT all around!!

For such a hard subject he makes it suprisingly easy. He does millions of examples and explains everything in detail. It's still calculus but the easiest calculus could be.

Maidorn is a great prof. He is always willing to help in office hours. Very clear in explaining math problems. He's really funny. He alternates Assignment/Quiz every week, so it helps you know the calculus. Do the work, refer to the textbook, and you'll do fine.

He will make sure that you learn your stuff. He may be difficult, but it is because he wants you to learn your material. Is very easy to approach.

Patrick is a gem. He is super-nice and knew most of the students names which is cool considering there were 100 of us. There are no surprises on quizzes or exams so do the work and copy his examples in class. He rushed through the last section which wasn't great but all in all he was awesome.

He's a really nice teacher, and extremely helpful. As well, he makes a subject which is not my favorite way more fun that it would have otherwise been. There is a quiz almost every week, but it is small (one question) and on material just covered, so it is more of a study aide than a reason to study. Great teacher, honestly.

Assignments, quizzes and pre-exam worksheets are hard but prepare you for exams. Optimize your math experience and take Math with Maidorn.

Best proff you could have for math. clear, friendly, and his classes were fun. Always enthusastic about teaching which makes learning the stuff even better. The biweekly quizzes, although annoying, were great helps to stay up to date on material. HIGHLY recommended

Maidorn is funny... everytime someone sneezed he'd say "bless you" even in a middle of a sentence he was explaining. The class is overall pretty easy but he does have weekly quizzes that might drop your mark a little bit.

Not a bad teacher, he's usually pretty clear. My only dislike is the curveballs that are often given on quizzes and the limited amount of time given to perform the quiz. I'm a slower test taker so this dropped my marks some.

Great prof! He explains clearly and does many examples in class. He also provides you with handouts with more examples to solve as HW and takes up the results in class. The exam review handouts are very helpfull. The theory classes are a bit heavy becuase he keeps talking at the same time you struggle to take down notes from the overhead.

Patrick is an awesome teacher! His little quiz's are a great teaching tool for the big tests! He is very flexible if you miss a class! And he is able to teach math in a sense where there is no way you cant understand!!!! I really enjoyed his class and feel a little smarter just from taking it! The text book is KEY!

GREAT PROF! Stats is a dry class but he made it as interesting as possible. He is very helpful, lots of examples, notes online. We had weekly tests instead of an assignment, but they were easy and if you knew what you were doing in the prior week you can do really well plus only takes 6/8 marks. GREATLY RECOMMENDED!! LOVED AS A PROF!

Very nice guy and very helpful. Does examples in class with his students and gives them time to do some on their own as well. Always willing to help outside of class time. Posts slides online, but leaves examples blank for you to fill in during the lecture. Very nice man!

This is a new class this semester. He's done a very good job of teaching it. He really knows what he's talking about. He tries to make sure everyone understands everything and will do extra examples if someone doesn't. He seems a little bit timid or nervous sometimes but that's okay, I would be too.

Textbook wasn't required. You could buy it if you want it but he explains it better. Takes a class that most people struggle with and makes it easy. If you fail his class it's your own fault. Explains everything well and in detail.

Highly recommend!!!He is always well prepared. You can see that he likes stat very much, and he even thinks many daily things in a statistic way. He makes Stat easy and interesting. and You do not need textbook in his class. You just need to print out the notes.

He is honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. His explanations are so logical and easy to understand. He made the Stats 160 class as interesting as it possibly could be, and his witty sense of humor had me laughing every once in a while. I would definitely take another class with this man.

I took this class as a night class, and it was extremely difficult on its own. Patrick is an excellent teacher, he tries to simplify things, but the concepts are difficult either way. I struggled with this class and the exams, but Patrick is the best prof to go with. If you take the night class, make sure to go to ALL the classes!

TEXTBOOK IS SUPPLEMENTARY. Professor Maidorn posts homework questions and assignments online to do (albeit they are riddled with mistakes, so be careful of your checks) But in class he is a great teacher. Best Prof for math 102! easy class, dont buy a textbook all his hw is online for practice. Helpful. Must put effort to get a high mark. Fair marker. Midterm based on quizzes. Final based on quizzes and he gives you hints what he will test you on. Would take it again, fun class! Dont skip!

Patrick is one of the best professors at UofR. His lectures are simple and easy to understand. I was really hoping I would have him for Calculus 2 as well. If you have to pick Calculus with anyone, pick him. If you go to his office, he'll do everything he can to help you understand.

His class includes teamwork through solving questions. You will get to meet a lot of friends through his class. I would definitely recommend him.

I actually loved Pat. He is very knowledgable about math and explains things well. He is very approachable and understanding. There are often weekly quizzes that are pretty easy but his midterm was a lot harder. The final wasn't too bad if you study good.

Great guy, sometimes teaches a bit too fast. Sometimes thinks that everyone knows the concepts and moves fast. He shows little tricks here and there to help students with problems. Get to use a cheat sheet for every exam including the final which is huge. Make sure you complete the practice lab questions as they are similar to the quizzes.

Math has been a subject I have struggled with for as long as I can remember, which made me worried about university math. This professor was clear with explaining and answered questions in a clear way. I actually learned a good amount of math in this lecture. There are assignments but they aren't for marks, they just help prepare you for exams.

He moves at a fast pace because the curriculum requires it, if you show up to class and do the assignments you're set for his straightforward exams/quizzes. Also has a good sense of humour

Material often reached into sometimes difficult areas of Science and he did a fantastic job of putting everything into terms that someone inexperienced can understand. I am not a strong maths or sciences student and I was able to get a firm grasp on cryptology that I'm hoping I can continue studying in the future

Patrick is a good guy however I would not recommend taking this class online (during COVID). He makes the tests extremely difficult because he is so scared of people cheating... however the questions become impossible! The practice notes I ace and then when it comes time for testing I am so confused! ONLY TAKE THIS CLASS IN PERSON!

Great prof! Very accommodating with the new online schedule. Lectures are fun, he's very attentive to questions asked in chat, and is cool with people interrupting to ask questions. Uses Zoom, provides the textbook for free (don't even need it tbh), and best of all doesn't use proctortrack. I just wish he was teaching Math 111.

For Online Classes, Professor Maidorn was amazing! In total, 9 weekly assignments, and 4 exams, where he takes the best 3 grades, with the 4th exam being comprehensive. While lectures aren't mandatory, and he uploads his notes, you'll be missing out on some great explanations. Overall, Highly recommend him for my first math class.

Took his Math 102 class, passed with a good grade, which was my second time taking the course (different prof), so I was very pleased. He's good at teaching the course material, a fair marker, and will provide help to anyone who needs it. I'm already enrolled in his Math 103 next semester. If you can, take a class with this guy.

MATH 103 is a hard class. Prof. Maidorn goes through material but not enough examples. BE PREPARED TO TEACH YOURSELF! He will go over lots of questions to make sure his students understand the material well enough to pass. His review sessions are amazing and super helpful. He is THE best math professor and I highly recommend his class.

I thought he was a genuine professor who wants his students to succeed. Though for my learning style, I found his course challenging. I found lectures moved rather fast and I had a hard time grasping topics. I had to turn to youtube for instruction through most of the course to get in-depth explanations. Go to class prepared!

Best prof at the U of R! This class is a lot of work and requires you to do individual practice. However, Prof Maidhorn provides you with the tools to succeed. His classes are engaging and he explains concepts very clearly. Quizzes and exams are fair. Very generous grader. Could not speak more highly of my experience.

Overall a good prof! His midterm and quizzes were pretty easy, but the final exam was a doozy. If you decide to take his class, make sure to put in the extra effort to study frequently and do practice questions with the lab manuals he gives. His lectures are interesting, but sometimes he goes a little fast.

Attendance is key! Show up to all of the lectures and labs and work on the practice questions provided. Maidorn is a kind and caring professor who wants you to succeed. Lectures are engaging and concepts are explained clearly. This class does require a lot of practice outside of lecture hours, especially if you are weaker in Pre-Calculus concepts.

Professor Patrick was excellent. He didn't require us to buy the textbook and gave us free alternatives. His notes are so good you don't need a book. Tests were fairly easy as long as you studied. He is easily accessible during office hours. Overall, great professor; study what he tells you and follow his instructions.

This was my second attempt at MATH 103 and I genuinely believe that I wouldn't have passed if it wasn't for Patrick's aptitude in teaching. He knows the content very well, and also knows how to teach very well - those two things don't always align. Chalk it up to experience, or being a good person, or some combination of the two - he's amazing.

This professor is fantastic. I took both Math 103 from him and I was able to pass with ease. If I had taken this course with any other prof, I likely would've barely passed or even failed, because I don't consider myself to be a math person. I would recommend putting in at least 2 hours of practice a day to achieve the best results.

Patrick is honestly one of the best proffs, this class is defo a GPA booster, the content is super easy and Patrick dumbs it down even further. His marking is a bit janky, and you have to be specific in word answers, but it doesn't take much intelligence to do well. He goes through in extreme depth and answers all types of questions.

GREAT professor. He explains things really well and is always open to questions. We had 5 quizzes and the worst grade out of the 5 got dropped. The quiz and final questions were always similar to what we had done in class. The Webwork assignments however were much harder than anything we ever did in class or on a test and were very time consuming.

Fantastic Professor, truly the best math teacher i have had yet. Fantastic teaching methods. If you put in some work outside of class it made this class a breeze. I will attempt to get into his classes in any future math related subjects

Amazing prof and would 100% recommend to everyone. His lectures were great and he explained the content very well. Probably the best stats professor you can get. Teaches concepts clearly, very funny guy, and tests are very fair and similar to online assignments. Stats might not be my favorite subject but he made it very tolerable.

I was a bit unsure of Professor Maidorn at the start of the semester, but I can now say that I am glad that I had him for STAT100. He sets you up to succeed as he takes the best 4 out of 5 quizzes, and quizzes and tests are heavily based on examples and exercises provided in class. Show up for class if you want to do well.

Patrick Maidorn is one of the best professors at U of R. He literally made math classes so easy for students. He only asks concepts in the exam which he had taught in the class. He never give any surprise questions in the exams. Will highly recommend to take classes with him. Had a great semester.

Patrick is a great statistics professor for first-year students. He is great at explaining the many concepts of the subject, and additionally only takes your best four out of five quizzes. It's not an easy class, especially for those who may not be great at math, but if you pay attention to the class and take notes, you will pass the class.

Patrick was a decent prof. He was easy to contact and had good well thought out lectures for this class. My only issue was I was accused of cheating, however that was quickly disregarded as he had 0 evidence. However, that wasn't a big deal, it was a big class so mistakes happen. In all he was decent and I'd take him again.
