He is very tough grading.. Really hard to get a good grade(A or B) on Essay.. Even revision. Sometimes revision gets lower grade than the first draft. You are gonna get a lot of knowledge about writing, but you are not going to be a journalist.. He requires high level writing.. Be careful.~

He gives you what you deserve. Respect him and he'll give you even a little higher. Challenging class( DUMB HARD) but very educational.

McKillop is very hard and challenging but if you stick with the class you'll learn alot more then you'll expect. He is very direct and frustrated by students who can't keep up. He's even got a sarcastic side. I passed the semester and enjoyed every class. IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO SUCCEED IN COLLEGE ---- TAKE THIS PROFESSOR YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!!

He is really very helpful and encourages his student to write. Even though he assigned tons of homework, all of them will help your writing.Also, he is not a hard grader, just attend classes and do your job you will get what you want.

Great professor who will push your limits and polish your writing. Students who dislike him, apparently see school as a chore and not as a means for self-advancement.

He is a very tough professor but with great intentions. The work he dishes out is extreme but tolerable. If your not serious about writing do not have him as a professor because writing is his passion and he will be strict!

Just reading the comments from the people that didn't like Patrick, I can tell that they probably should have taken remedial classes before taking ENG101. This is COLLEGE. Its not supposed to be easy. I made the mistake of taking his class in the short session in addition to another course - do NOT do this. You need the time to write.

This is to the comment below. Yes, this is COLLEGE, and I have also taken Patrick's class in Sessin II. He is tough & gives a lot of work, sometimes too sarcrastic for his own good. I was surprised he passed me and very glad, it made me realize he does care at the end BUT dont underestimate him and his assignments. Follow & do the work!

VERY tough, but great professor. Just make sure to ask questions and he offers PLENTY of time outside of class to go over essays. Again, he was a pain but its worth it.

Please consider the grammar and spelling of the negative feedback on here, is it really a surprise they struggled in English Comp? This professor is not easy, but is entertaining, passionate, and knows the material inside and out. If you want easy, look elsewhere. If you want to learn how to write, this is the guy.

Avoid him if you can. He makes this class more difficult than it has to be. He is a really tough grader, essay topics are hard to work with (but maybe that is departmental) and he makes you lose confidence, even if you know you can write a good essay. I'm sure not all ENG101 prof's are this stuck on formula.

If you can avoid him and get somebody else perfect. I had him on ENG 101 sarcastic,rude, harsh, but he is a good professor for long semesters.

I cannot say this class was easy, Patrick is HARD WORK!! But, I do appreciate his need and want for us to clearly understand how to correctly write essays. He also lets us re-do the essay for a higher grade. Just do the work, do the revisions, pay attention (he calls on ppl randomly) and you'll be fine!

One of the best english professors I have had to date. His classes are extremely structured, informative, and fun. Although the work load can be challenging at times, he truly wants to help you learn and succeed. He is a five star professor in my book!

If you are looking for an easy A then look somewhere else. If you want to improve your writing skills to be prepared for school papers and work reports then he is the best. His class is VERY organized and he's an excellent professor. He is very picky with grading and rarely gives an A. Some people may not like his sarcasm but I think he's hilarious

I took ENG 101 with Patrick on a Session 2 and he is one of the best Professors that I have ever had. He can be sarcastic at times, but only to those who do not want to be there for the sake of learning. I find his class entertaining, and his grading fair. Do all the assignments, and show up for his classes and you will do just fine.

Not an easy class by any means but you will learn a lot! Do all required work on time and follow his instructions exactly. I probably spent more time on his class than I did on my anatomy class but learned a ton. He wants students who do their work to succeed in class and gives many chances to pass. Take if you want to be a better writer!

He treated my class like we were in high school. He was rude at times towards the class and acted unprofessionally. He showed favoritism towards certain students. Despite all of this he does want you to learn but he will teach in a rude manner. Don't take him if you don't want this experience. pass. Hard work doesn't mean your'll pass his class.

Patrick expects you to learn and understand the subject you are studying. A lot of writing is required for this class. Put the work in and pay attention to his feedback. If you follow instructions and do the assignments you will learn a lot, which is kind of the point to taking a class anyway, isn't it?

He makes you work for a good grade, but you learn a lot in his class. If you complete all assignments and use his feedback for the revisions, you'll be fine.

He a sarcastic prof. I found his humor is hysterical but most people do not. He is a very harsh grader. You will not get an easy "A" in this class. However, he will teach how to write a proper essay. Always gives you a chance to rewrite your work til the last day. Take him to become a better writer.

Patrick has his personality but he is a very good professor. He is very responsible and expect you to be the same. He done well teaching and provides good feedback in your paper. Be ready to work hard in his class because there is a lot of homework and project to do. He likes to make groups during his class that I feel does not make sense.

Patrick can seem really odd at first, but he really tries to make you a at writer at least i. Yhe ENG259 course. There is no doubt he is a really tough grader, he will ask you to revise papers once or twice to get a really good grade. He assigns lots of homework and projects so be ready to work. He is funny tho.

I nearly dropped this class after the first time it met, but I am so glad that I didn't. Patrick's sarcasm and sense of humor may come off as condescending, but he truly cares about improving the writing of his students, given that they put in the effort. If you want a professor to tell you that you're already perfect, his class is not for you.

Be prepared to read in class out loud and work in groups. Attendance is a must. A lot of papers but you do get second chances on those. He takes points off for late papers. Take his advice and go to class on time. Last in is the first to read! Excellent prof and I would take him again. You will remember what you learned in this class

Honestly, this class was hard! But Professor Patrick gave constructive criticism and praise, and ultimately made me a much better writer. He is intelligent if a little arrogant but overall he did what a teacher is supposed to do which is challenge and teach!

most influencial and remarkable professor! you just gotta give some time to get used to his ways of teachings but soon you'll realize that it all makes sense. His class is full of subliminal jokes and passive insults that gets you to actually think for once in your life! definitely recommend if your'e willing to put the work and learn something!

Prof. Patrick Mckillop was by far the best professor I ever had. If you are serioud about learning the technical language, Patrick if for you. Be aware that a lotttt of writing will be involved, with addition to the reduction of hours that you will be able to sleep.

Patrick has his own style of teaching that will ingrain whatever he's taught you to stay in your brain till the day you die. I felt I worked extremely hard in his class to get the grade I did and it was worth it. I've written papers for my other classes and got great grades not even trying because of his class. A class for those who want to learn.
