Comes off as a jerk...but is ok. Tests are hard. No faking it in this class. Class is hard.I wouldn't recommend.I worked my *ss off for a B.
He is such a jerk...And half of the time he was not teaching about the chapter just wanted he felt was important to him! Don't recommend him at all.
He's not a teacher who cares about students. He's a jerk. He's never stayed on the subject. He said he was going to lock the door when class started, not to come to class if you were late. If your cell went off,it was five points off your final grade. He said he would take points off for spelling and grammer errors on essays.STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
Loved the teach. decent sense of humor, the quizes are easy just skim the chapters before hand. the tests..well.. just read the chapter! and there wont be a problem. great teacher, fun!
okay he comes off a little strong..I reread all the chapters a couple of times, worked my butt off for a B. Maybe like one person got an A in his class... His grading process was confusing...he would forget to place your grade online sometimes and forget the actual grade you had..just unorganized..dats all...but he was nice..
he's not that great of a teacher. he has daily quizes first thing in class.he has a five minute late policy. after that he seriously will not let you come to class and not take the quiz. his tests have essays and pick at all the details in the book that you must read. he has several projects, reports and newspaper analysises. do not recommend him!
Great class. Had a blast. Uses mostly Power Point, but does it in a fun way. Uses lots of visual images to connect ideas to current events.
I loved this class...it's a class where you will never take notes.First, You will sure listen to him talk for the whole period but on important issues like currents events stuffs.Do all that assignments and you will make an A.Be in class every day...I mean Y miss it when it's so much fun and entertaining?I had a Blast in his class.I will miss it
He thought that since he was in the government that her knew all there was to it and "the book is wrong." He is the dumbest professor in the world.
If you take him in the summer you will not regret it. Maybe during a long semester he is tough but everyone in my maymester class loved him and we almost all got A's he's really funny and cool. take his class!!
i took his class this past spring. it was basically an online class that met in class. there were a lot of assignments to do. there are some random papers and weekly discussion boards. we had about 3 tests. he was a pretty fun professor though. we basically just talked the whole time in class.
Bizarro! By far, the strangest online professor I've ever had. However, pretty much all the test material came straight from the book. Ignore the power point presentations, you won't need them. He's a little hard to get a hold of and he doesn't stick to the syllabus - just be aware of that.
He is kind of tough if you are used to not having to study very much. As long as you study in advance you should be fine though.
He has been one of my favorite teachers here at richland! He does go on tangents about randoms things occasionally, but he also teaches the material really well, and lets you know what is due each day. I would definitely recommend him to everyone looking to take government!
He kind of funny at beginning, but too old to know everything about technology and teenagers stuff. Later, he drove the class so boring with his sleepy voice. The test always in eCampus but he limited it for 1 hour to take with 2-3 essay and too much question. Don't waste your money for textbook, he won't use it.
LOTS OF EASY WORK! Mr. Moore is a wonderful Teacher and just an overall great guy. I just finished his Summer 1 Govt 2301 Class and finished with B with minimal effort. He does require attendance and has possible 55 points for attendance, 3 tests, 5 Discussion Boards, 4 Current Event Discussions and a very easy Term paper of 1000 Words.
Awesome professor! Very sweet guy & he cares about his students! He is really funny.
he was a good teacher. he really enjoys a good discussion in class. he is very laid back and loves dark chocolate. Always wearing short, tennis shoes and a baseball cap. and easy A if you put in effort. but you can also make a B with little effort but with still doing all assignments. He uses power points in class.Seriously recommended. FUN FUN!!!!
Very Easy if you pay attention during notes and take part in the class discussion, enjoyed his class very much, not hard if you do his homework and pay attention to notes for tests.
Great, funny guy. He's very easy to get along with, and I always had a great time in his class. His only downside is that he tends to not cover all of the material on the tests. He gets off topic a bit, but I think that it just makes the lectures more enjoyable.
Overall awesome
Very strict with grading. It's ridiculous actually. I've always made 100s and 90s at the least. He will give you a failing grade for any little thing, even if that little thing is him not agreeing with your opinion. I would take a different professor if you can.
Mr. Moore is awesome. He is a really cool teacher who really cares about his students. I took his class online, which included 3 DB forums, 4 little papers, 2 tests, and 1 research paper. It was doable, and he is not a hard greater at all. Take his class, and you will not regret it.
Professor is amazing! If U don't like talking abut current events, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. He is very blunt, and has a great sense of humor. All of our exams were online, including the textbook. (AWESOME) 4 small current events papers &1major paper at the end. If you do your work, and have all the points, UR exempt from da final. Easy A, EASY A!!
Mr Moore is awesome. He has a weird sense of humor but he's kool.He tends to go off topic but I think it's b/c he has ALOT of info in his head-they just av a way of comin out. If you do homework and exams, u'll be fine. Just make sur to follow the instructions.I learned alot from Mr Moore,he has a gd heart but he tries his best nt to show it.
Awesome dude....just do all your work
This professor is one of the best ever. The bad reviews he receives is from students who slack off and tend to do things last minute. He thinks about his students and decided to not use a book but provide online content for free. Everything is there and there is hardly any need for lecture. If you take your time to read the class will be a breeze.
Absolutely love this professor and he has a great sense of humor. Lots of fun debates and topics in this class. Just do the assignments and you will do great!
If you cant get an "A" in this class, the problem is with you. Its not that the class is an easy "A", its just that Mr. Moore keeps it interesting. Just turn your work in on time and you will do fine. One of the best classes I have taken. I love the in class debates! A lot of good info, and Mr. Moore will also teach you the meaning of life for free
Best government professor!! We didn't really use a "textbook" since the content that we used instead was all online. Great professor, fun and helpful. Includes class related debates to keep things interesting. You will get a good grade if you stay on top of the due dates for each assignment. Some extra credit offered. I would recommend to anyone!
Extremely good teacher. He is very clear and helpful. I would highly reccomend any student to take his class. He makes the class fun and keeps everyone involved each day.
I took his GOVT class online and made an A but it wasn't easy. We had lots of work to do. 3 tests, 4 discussion boards, 4 current events, progress checks, and a "short" project (1000 words paper). If you do all the assignments and try to get 65% on all the tests you could probably end up with a B.
Great professor! Very fun and engaging! He loves to start debates and get the entire class involved. Very reasonable assignments. Not a heavy work load in my opinion. Tests can be a little tricky and are online even though the class isn't. Just be sure to thoroughly read the provided online materials before attempting the exam and you'll do great!
maymester. 3 current events. 3 online tests. maybe 12progress checks online-easy. class discussions. tests were kinda tricky bt read ur online material n listen in class. made an A, great and understanding guy!
It's a very easy class, but you have to work hard to earn an A..He will give you a decent Grade of atleast a B if he seems you work hard
As far as the book goes, it is cheaper than most books but very convenient that the professor also authored the textbook that is used in his class. if you're looking for an easy grade, take someone else. Teacher doesn't seem very friendly toward his students.
Professor Moore is a great teacher and is knowledgeable about government. The assignments are online and the textbook is needed for his class, that is your only study source for test. Fairly easy class, test can be a little difficult, but with effort you should make an A.
Professor Moore is wonderful, and definitely one of the best professors I've had so far. If you rate your professors on how "easy" their class is, how little work you do, and how much you're not interested in learning, then don't bother taking his class. He cares enough to want us to truly learn, and to think critically. You'll love him, trust me.
A good, challenging professor. On par with professors at four-year colleges. If you want to pass this class, attend every lecture and read every chapter in the book. No shortcuts or easy A's here -this guy is the real deal. If you want to finish your semester with more knowledge about government than you came in with, this is the professor for you.
He is an excellent professor. He enjoys getting his students involved in class. He kind of teaches in the socratic method. He takes attendance and you cannot be more than 5 minutes late. All his assignments are online. You will need to read the book for the tests. One of my favorite professors!
Professor Moore is one of the best government professors at Richland College. He is so passionate about his subject, so he really engages his students. Great sense of humor and very approachable. He loves debating with his students and wants to make sure that we become good critical thinkers. Put in some effort and enjoy the ride.
Professor Patrick Moore was my all time favorite professor! He is very entertaining and loves his job. He makes his class interesting. I would take his class again any day!
Took his online 2 month class and liked it. Discussion boards and current events. Tests are weighed heavy - read it and know what's important (like charts and the sort). He is VERY involved for an online class - doesn't treat it like it's online, which is nice. I'd probably take him again :)
Fairly easy class. Easy grader on discussion boards and current events if you follow the direction. He's fairly organized, doesn't like to grade until the end of the year. He's REALLY good at explaining to the science/mathematically minded. Tests are heavily based on the textbook, so READ IT. In class discussions are lively and fun.
Didn't learn one thing from this class. The tests have absolutely nothing to do with the material he actually teaches, if he ever gets to the material that is. He made a power point on his trip to the state fair and we talked about it for a week straight. I wouldn't refer him to anyone. If you're interested in learning at all do not take his class.
You don't learn anything in this class. His tests have nothing to do with what you study. You have homework everyday after his class and its hard to keep up. Not only do you have to keep up but he doesn't take late work or make ups
Professor Moore is a great Professor, he is very knowledgeable and an easy grader. He defines what he expects on assignments and it is pretty hard to screw up if you follow those rules. He brings his dog Abby to class and she is a sweetheart, he is by far my favorite professor at Richland. His test are hard only of you don't study or read chapters.
Took His Flex-Term Course And Was Worth It! Provides Very Clear Syllabus And What Is Expected. Assignments Are Do Able If You Are Determined! Got An "A"
I took him for a regular semester class. Mr. Moore is a fantastic teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed learning government from him. He made me enjoy learning about a boring subject. He responded to emails promptly and in a timely manner, and was always super helpful. He really knows what he is talking about.
Took Prof. Moore online for both GOV 2305 & 2306 for a flex term and winter term and I'm SO glad I took him online rather than in class! His assignments are straightforward and very easy if you dedicate time to the class. I definitely recommend him for any online class!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
Took him during winter term. Clear schedule layout, assignments are not too difficult and he grades easy. Tests are straight from the book. Easy enough class. Would recommend this guy.
Mr. Moore has a clear schedule of what needs to be done for the semester. Assignments are fairly easy and his grading is fair. His class is fun and interesting. He gives out fair enough of ezra credit. I thought I was going to make a C in this class, but I ended up with a B+. I highly recommend him. Plus not much homework is given out.
EASY PEASY. This class was a breeze. He's quite an easy grader and his assignments are short and sweet. He's very prompt with replying to his student's emails so we were always clear about the course work. We did need the book as ALL the test questions were from there. He also gives out lots of extra credit. I highly recommend him.
I highly recommend this class. I completed this course during Summer session 2. The syllabus was easy to understand and to the point. If you do the work and read the online information and essays in your book there's no way you can fail. He answered all my emails the same day. His assignments were very interesting. Great class, great professor!
I wouldn't recommend him. His course is hard and his grading is very bad
His tests have nothing to do with what you study. You have homework everyday after his class and its hard to keep up. Not only do you have to keep up but he doesn't take late work or make ups Don't take his class!!!
He is a BIG je rk, I will get an A or B in this class, but, I still have to say, there is nothing relative with your test and his lecture, he would like to spend lots of time to talk about the news, his three favorite foods are, fry chicken, Oreo, and beer. Come on, you spend 154 dollars per credit hour and listen to his s hit.
If you are here to look for a good prof. DO NOT take him I have no idea why this college is keep him on its staff !!! he doesn't deserve to be there. i can see him doing car wash not teaching..
Funny guy. Most of the time we talked about current events instead of the class materials. You'll have to read a good amount, but the tests are online so google is your best friend. Take it if you like online tests.
Funny and nice guy. We spent most days talking about current events instead of the class materials. The tests are online so google will be your best friend. If you're good at online tests, take him.
I don't understand why people are badmouthing this prof. His syllabus was crystal clear. His tests weren't super easy, but they weren't ridiculously hard. No, he doesn't accept late work. This is college people! He specifically told us that tests are open book, open internet. What more do you people want? Do work, grow up. Take him people!
Professor Moore is nice, however in the flex term, tests are hard (I am an A student who couldn't make over a C even when I studied). Discussion boards were interesting and everything was very easy except for the tests! If you have govt knowledge already, you will do fine. If you're me and don't like govt, you'll make your first B :( Good luck.
Have extra time to read over the inst. and ask quest before submitting the assignment. I did all the extra credit except for the Library and made a B. Download all the Online course material and do all the practice questions and save the answers. You will need to get familiar with the book also. The Civil Essay is 800 words minimum.
Moore is not a good teacher, but he's a pretty cool guy. He NEVER reminds you on due dates and does not explain things grade related. All he does in class is debate on random topics that are not relevant to the class. I think he only lectured something govt related twice lol. I made an A+ because I used Google on his tests. He's hilarious though.
Great class. Helpful professor. Thought provoking. Do the work and you will get an A. Online textbook!
I took Mr. Moore's flex term online course (half a semester). It was clear what I was supposed to do, mostly reading and class discussions. The 5 tests aren't too hard if you can type quickly for google as his tests are open google and open book. 2 small Current Event essays and one longer Civil Rights essay, nothing too bad. Some extra credit.
Professor Patrick Moore is a fun teacher. Although I used to find the discussion boards a bit controversial but that's where I got to know different perspectives. I got B but I am still happy that I took his class. In fact, this is probably the best class so far and is the only class that I am missing. He also gave a lot of extra credit.
Took his class for Government 2306, it was really easy. He is really funny and he brings his dog to class on some days for everyone to enjoy the dogs company. He is sometimes forgetful, so remind him when assignments are close to being due. He is a talkative person, so expect him to be caught off guard from talking so much. Tests are really Easy!!!
Loved his online class. He is a great teacher, very laid back, and has a sense of humor. I love that his main objective is to get you to think. There is a lot of reading and writing, but it is never anything crazy. The only issue I had during this class was the tests. They are tough, unless you have every chapter memorized verbatim.
Very laid-back, encourages debate in class, and the tests are open Google (which tells you all you need to know). Do all the work and you are guaranteed an A.
Professor Moore makes you to be a critical thinker. He does his best to make the class interesting and dynamic.
One of my favorite professors, he is very kind and witty. Loves to reference things in class for example Lord of the Rings which I'm a huge fan of. He is respectful and listens well when students have concerns over things like tests and what not. Would recommend to anyone! He made my stay at Richland fun.
I recommend this professor. The class is easy. Everything is online and he puts explanations for everything that is due. He does attendance everyday. He is kinda strict on being at class on time. I love the discussions we talk about so if you're looking for a great government professor. It's him. You won't regret it.
Professor Moore has to be one of the worst professors I've ever had. He talks entirely way too much, and what he talks about most of the time isn't even on his tests! The tests are extremely hard, and he does a horrible job preparing you for them. He gets off topic way too easy which is extremely frustrating. I do not recommend him at all.
I took his online class and it's pretty direct if we follow the instruction. You will get an A if you do all the assigned homework. Plus, he also gives extra credit opportunity. You have 4 big tests. Read the textbook and do the test, you will pass the class! Don't forget the class discussion too!
Tests are easy - all the answers are online. Just attend the class and look up answers and you'll get an easy A. Gets off topic very easy and tests have absolutely no relevance to what he talks about in class, that's why you have to look up answers online. Its all open book and open google for tests and quizzes. A lot of extra credit also.
Great professor Discussion Boards
Just finished Professor Moore's online class. There are four discussion boards - he does a great job in choosing interesting topics. The tests are not easy but they're not hard, they are open book and open google. Actually reading the book will be very helpful. You will actually have fun taking this class, even if you do it online.!
He tells you his test come out of the book so his lectures are 30% of his test and the rest are on the book. Or look online. I loved his class and he really knows his information and he has conspiracy day that's when it gets crazy. I recommend this professor he is fun but strick on attendance so don't be late!!!!!!!
He may be a passionate professor, but he goes off topic too often and it is really difficult to pay attention during lecture.
Moore is a very good teacher. He is super nice and is the angel among teachers at RLC
Easy A. Just do the discussion boards and test answers are online.
If you are looking for a class to debate current issues, then this is your perfect class. First 10 mins of class he'll throw out current issues trying to start a debate between students, which will go on for the whole class, instead of doing notes. Test are online & from quizlet just copy & paste the questions into google with quizlet for answers.
Professor is def. on the students side, simply tasks I would 100% take. Easy A, BUT you have to participate
Professor Moore's course was thoroughly enjoyable. This was a fast track class so reading seemed to be a lot, but textbook was great. Only 2 tests and you're mainly doing discussion boards that are a matter of your opinion. Professor is easy to contact and clear with expectations. Very easy course, I will take him again.
I took Professor Moore's class online and I must say it one one of the best choices I have made! He connects with you regardless of its online and is super hilarious! I really recommend him for anyone needing to take Federal Government. Easy A and wonderful professor!!
I took his online summer GOVT 2306 class, and the tests were EXTREMELY HARD, even with open books and everything. Mind you I have only received As through out my entire 2 years in colleges, including history, english, and govt 2305. Probably 30% of the questions will not be from the reading, but there are extra credits to make up for some of them.
If you're like me, and find the idea of taking government classes a bit hard to swallow, then this is the professor for you. He's exciting, hilarious, and witty, and he brings a healthy amount of spontaneity that keeps you invested in his class. He can get a tad off-topic sometimes, but it's nothing to be worried about. A true gem of a professor.
I took the class for Summer 1. There were 5 discussion boards & 5 tests. Discussion boards were easy, but the tests were a bit tough. I read the textbook & I still had to search the answers in my book. I could not find them on Quizlet, but maybe others could. He offers extra credit though! Does not accept late work! Complete assignments on time!
The assignments are 4 Discussion Boards and 4 tests. I found most test answers online. The Discussion Boards have interesting topics and are pretty easy. He offers extra credit, two of them are easy, but one of them takes time. I took this class this summer during the Mayterm.
An awesome guy all around, funny, he takes his service dog which is a golden retriever which is the nicest dog. Really knows what hes talking about, and really tried to make government fun (which is hella hard lol)
If you really just want an easy A he is the teacher! Turn in his stuff ON TIME! MOST IMPORTANTLY just do everything. If you want me to be honest, I don't even think he checks them, just as long as you turn them in, you get full points! He checks attendance so get someone to sign you in. Don't bother buying the textbook, NEVER used it trust me!!!
Amazing professor! Take this class online if you want an A. Do all the discussion boards and stay on top of your assignments so you can make an A. No need to buy the textbook just look online for test answers (he even says you can) Do your extra credit! They're super easy as well, accidentally missed an assignment and it saved me.
If you show up and do your work you will be fine! He has 5 discussion boards and 4 tests. I took this class Summer 1 and received an A! He offers extra credit which helps. Test are rather difficult but you can search them on google and or your book. I found his class very interesting and informative! Loved it!
The test are based off the the book and some lecture questions. They are all online so you can find the answers on quizlet pretty easily. He rants sometimes but I like that he talks about current events. He gives outside homework but I think it makes the class more interesting and helps your grade because they're easy. He gives an attendance grade
Lots of activities but easy + many extra credit. Careful with the tests, kinda hard to ace them
Took professor Moore for Scholarmester, I registered last minute, so I didn't have choices to pick from. This website rated him a 3, so I was nervous to take him. After completing his class, I don't see why he is not a 5?!!! Take his class even if you have a full schedule, you wont regret it.
Mr. Moore, makes it easy to nagivate his class, provoking thought, yet he is logical. He loves hearing from students. Prompt responder.
Professor Moore is a funny professor, but his lectures tend to go off track to other current events. His tests are online and none of the answers are on google. There is an assignment due almost every class period, but they are not difficult. He also offers loads of extra credit and is not a difficult grader, so it is hard to fail his class.
I took this course during a flex term and found it fairly easy and very informative. He offers a lot of extra credit, so make sure to take advantage of that. The exams were pretty easy as most of the answers were online. Just make sure to turn in everything on time and you can easily make an A. Take him, you won't regret it!
If you know what is good for you, do not take this professor, I repeat do not take this professor. I was deceived by the reviews on here. I think he might have wrote them by himself. This is the worst class I have ever taken. He is slow in everything, he pretend to be nice but he is cruel and heartless to his student. He will make you buy the book.
I took both GOVT2305 and 2306 with Professor Moore. Both classes were easy A's. The professor was very down to earth and understands that students have other things in life. Do not need to study, exams found online, discussions were critical thinking and basically just your thoughts. Emails back in a good time frame. TAKE HIM YOU WONT REGRET IT.
Professor Patrick is a really nice man, he always cares about his students and tries to do his best in order to help the student. He lectures get boring something but once again he the best professor for government
Very good teacher, I took him for 2305 and I'm taking him again for the next govt. class. He gives lots of extra credit and all the work is online. Attendance is 100 points of your grade. Lectures are not boring. Highly recommend taking him. Sometimes he brings his dog to class so that is a plus!
Easy Proffesor I really wanted to take him again for 2306 because he's so easy and nice!!! You learn a lot. Not a lot of work easy A
So east to get a good grade in. I took him May term for Gov2305 and the tests are all open book, he even says in the syllabus you can use google. There was minimal work and soooo many opportunities for extra credit. One of the easiest A's I've ever gotten. All discussion posts are completion and tests are on quizlet so just put in the effort
Professor Moore is one of the best professors I've ever had in college, He's very understanding and makes the class an easy A. I took his class for the maymester term and it was a great experience, the tests were online and we were allowed to use Google, we had discussion boards about different up to date topics. I would take his class again.
I took his class for Maymester and it was ridiculously easy. I got a B but that was really my own fault. I didn't read directions properly on a couple assignments and missed some due dates. He says that its fine if you google all the answers on his online tests or look at your book so its almost impossible to fail this class if you do your work!
I took this for Summer 1 and I must say he was the easiest teacher to take online. Just follow all guidelines and this should be an easy A. I would definitely recommend him!!
do the 14 day trial for the quizzes you answer until you get 100. no need to buy the book, he brings his dog to class and always go off of topic. tests are online so your obviously going to pass. Hes funny and understanding too. Attendance is mandatory but the class isnt boring so its not a big deal. TAKE HIM
Super Easy. Don't worry about it.
Very easy class, best teacher ever! Don't skip class though.
I'm going to be honest, he is a cool professor and works with you. If you actually want to learn something then its going to be hard because he gets off topic a lot. Its easy to pass if you just stick to your textbook and participate in class. you must watch for assignment deadlines because he changes them frequently. He's not the worst.
This class is pretty easy, but there are some complaints for prof. You can have your opinions in class but prepare to be shut down even when he says he doesn't. He acts like a high school teacher when it comes to discipline. He'll say that you'll never know his bias but I promise you 99.9% you will know where he stands
I took this teacher for Texas and Federal government. His directions are very clear. His work is easy and you should get an A in this class if you do all this assignments correctly. All his work is online, including his test. If you take his class in class he brings his dog Abby to class sometimes!
Professor Moore is Interested in what you think of him than how you do in the class, he will not tell you weather you do good or bad in the class rather than give you a low grade. I'm Straight A student, but I got a "D" because his lecture wasn't clear, and when he was giving us the lecture he gets lost in his thoughts and confuse everyone. ):
I am so happy that I took his online class. There was a lot of discussion boards, but I actually enjoyed reading what other people wrote. Very clear with his grading and he offers extra credit opportunities.
My advice is to complete all the homework assigments within the 2-week trial of the book so you don't have to buy it. The rest is super easy. He brings his dog to class sometimes, too, if his lectures bore you. Most of what he talks in class will probably not be related to government but if you just need some credit, go for him.
This is the best government teacher ever. He's super nice! All tests are online and he even lets you use google! Very hard to fail this class! Lots of discussion boards and extra credits. (they're all easy). He brings his dog to class which is a bonus!
Prof. Moore employs extensive homework, essays, and modules to mak sure his students learn in his class. It was a lot of work for 4 weeks of class, but well-worth the A! Be prepared to work, follow the instructions and you will do just fine!
I really enjoyed his classes this semester and would take him again for any government class. He loves his subject and isn't afraid to show it. You will have to do a few discussion boards, solo projects and some cengage work but it isn't all that difficult.
Follow the syllabus, Super easy. I took for GOVT2305 and attempted for 2306 but was full . Discussion boards are most of it. You wont regret taking him.
The test were not what he talked about in class
I enjoyed it. His tests are all online & open book. Easy A!
Pretty easy class. He does not accept late work. LearnSmart - free trial for 2 weeks, try to finish before so, you don't have to spend 100, it counts for points. Discussion boards are super easy, had 6-7. His class is really managable. Easy grader, just do your work then it should be Easy A. Test answers are easy to find online.
His tests are all online, and you can find the answers easily. Just come to class because he counts participation, Easy A.
Moore is incredible- a teacher you will remember for a long time. I took his winter course. Discussion boards pretty much every day, 4-5 tests, attendance graded heavily. More discussion than content in class. ***If you are ESL be wary- his tests are timed- 40ish questions in one hour. But you can find the answers online.
Easy class to pass, Professor Moore is very charismatic through his communication online. He constantly reaches out and shows he cares about whatever we want to share. His class is pretty straight forward. The only reason I didn't get a higher grade was because I forgot to turn in assignments. He is unforgiving about late work. The rest is easy.
Took as an online class. Class was well laid out. Requires book with access code. 5 non cumulative tests, discussion boards, papers. Tests are multiple choice and T/F and timed 1 hour. Prof Moore is really great - very accessible. He wants you to think, is honest and seems to enjoy teaching.
All I want to say that 10% of the grade is attendance. Do you guys really want to lose 100 points just for not coming to class? I got B only because of losing lots of point for being absent more than 8 days in the whole semester. 4 days absent 50 points cut. 8 days absent you may get few points for attendance.
I took this course as a 3-week mini-mester and found it both easy and enjoyable. Professor Moore seemed nice and caring, and the coursework was engaging. I particularly liked the colorful textbook he required for the course.
You are not allowed to make any noise in this class (no phone sounds) The laptop only allowed in the first and second row. No later than 5 minutes or you walk out the room. Short break time: 5 minutes. Walking out the room during the lesson is not allowed. No early finish.
Took this class for summer 1. The tests were a bit hard even though they were all open book and you could use his PowerPoint slides. Professor Moore kept the class interesting and wed start with some music and current events. 50 points just to show up to class. A lot of extra credit opportunities.
If you take this class like me hoping that the test questions and answers could be found online, you'll be very disappointed that you actually have to read the book. my 1st test was the only one which had most answers online. So i went from A in the 1st, to an F in the 2nd test. The test are the only things worth worrying about. You better READ! G!
I really love that professor Moore engages with his students. I love the debates and topics that we discuss, It really makes you take different perspectives on touchy subjects.
This is a good summer class to take online if you need the credit. The tests are pretty easy but there are 6 discussion boards on controversial topics that require critical thinking, so be ready for that. Hes a huge conspiracy theorist and gives extra credit through that as well!!
He is the most wonderful professor I ever had. I will take his class again for my Gov-2. He is very caring and helpful professor I got A.
You could tell that Professor Moore is very passionate about this field. Tests are based on the textbook. Discussion broads and essays require self-engagement and ruminate seriously about the topics. They won't be too agonizing, yet will at least help you open your mind to new things.
He graded so harshly on our discussion boards. If you can find an easier grader professor based off other ratings, then don't take this professor. He's the worst!
There are a total of 6 Discussion Boards, 4 tests, and lots of extra credit opportunities. The tests are easy since the answers are all on the internet. He doesn't take off points on the DBs if you follow all the directions and do your work before the deadline. HE DOES NOT EXTEND DEADLINES. Overall, I had a good experience and got to learn a lot.
I took both GOVT2305 & GOVT2306 with him. I like the textbook that he gives for GOVT2305. I wasn't a fan of the GOTV2306 textbook though. The class is easy to get an A in and is not heavy on hw. HIS GROUP DISCUSSIONS ARE THE BEST! You will not be disappointed with them. He seemed to not be as cheerful as time went on though cause its all online :(
He's a good guy who is friendly and approachable. The only drawback is his ego. He spends more time trying to convince the class that we will never know his opinions than actually listening to and showing understanding of views that are counter to his own. He is extremely liberal and is dismissive of those with different life experiences.
TAKE HIM!! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!doesn't grade harshly and gives SO many extra credit opportunities. Don't do late work though but that shouldn't be a problem since they're all spaced out nicely. His exams are open book and open google and all the answers are on quizlet. he seems like a sweet guy too! 6 dbs, 4 short essays, and a few tests but easy A
Super easy class with almost no homework. Its a hard class to fail, especially with all the extra credit he gives. Didnt have to communicate with him much so I dont know how he is. I would take his. Id recommend his class due to how easy it is honestly
Tests are open-book, which is not hard. There are several short essays and 6 Discussion Broads assignments. There are quite many ways to earn extra credits, therefore, cherish those opportunities.
Really nice professor. You will have to show up if you want a good grade because he does not just teach off the PowerPoint and he takes attendance. TONS of extra credit. Talked about things going on in the news before the lecture started, which I enjoyed. Tests weren't easy, but if you read the textbook and go to class you'll be fine.
Professor Moore, is a great professor, he knows what he's talking about. He's test are online, he provides extra credit work. I would definitely take him again!
I had problems getting assignments populated. Kept him informed while working with the schools IT department. Once fix stay up all night ensuring assignments were done before the deadline. He graded them all late taking more than half the points away. Now I have dropped his with a W, because I'm just discouraged!
Took this class online in the Summer, make sure to keep up with the due dates, also each textbook assignment is an hour long. Tests are open book, everything is very easy. The discussion board can be a little time-consuming, but overall good and very easy class just wish we had some pre-recorded lectures.
Took him for 2305&2306 ONLINE, amazing, funny, and well respected professor. Great communication, easy HW thru mcgraw-hill & sage vantage. Tests are open note, typical discussion boards w/ responses. Few short essays sprinkled in, and SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT!!! Layout & syllabus very clear too. You would be making a mistake not taking his course. GL!
Prof. Moore is amazing. Had him for an 8 week online. The class was so coherent and easy to navigate, and the work wasn't difficult. You do not want to neglect the textbook readings and quizzes, because that's a majority of your grade right there. The discussion boards were interesting and Moore provided a ton of resources. Take this class!!
Very Easy class , just discussion boards and quizzes which are the easiest and easy 100%
Nice guy. Decent workload but very easy and simple.
Took this class during spring 2025 the class is easy, most of the time he just wants to talk about his life and personal probelms, we got to april and we were barely on test 2, he gave is credit for the time he missed super esasy. He also offers extra credit.
Clear syllabus and grading criteria. 7 discussion board (original post and response), 4 Exams (open book), 1 Essay, Sage Vantage quizzes and tone of extra credits. I find the discussion board is tedious, but he is a lenient grader. I like the material he used too. Recommend.
