Very funny, extremely helpful, easy tests, very team oriented person and one project. Teaches like it his passion, but in a very fun way. So not boring at all.

He's a very funny, clear, and seems to like what he does for a living. I would recommend taking him because he's just cool. If you want to take management for a major I would consider making him your mentor because he seems to know a lot about MGT.

Very funny, can grab your attention. between his jokes and class discussions you won't even notice how much you've learned. The classes are not scripted from memory, but are done on the spot to suit the class environment and individuals.

He is one of those professors that you will think about and smile when you look back on your college career. He is a great mentor! He makes you want to wake up in the morning and come to class.

This was a class where I learned something useful to my career and worked with real business people. Prof Murphy is the best at DePaul. He is funny, genius, and can relate to students. after taking him it makes sense why DePaul entrepreneurship is ranked so high.

Opened my eyes to management and I am becoming a management major. (1) Did a group project that was kind of hard but I really cared about it. (2) Wouldn't change anything about the class. His style is like Conan O'Brien as a Professor :-) but seriously knows what he is talking about.

Laughed until I cried in class (he actually imitated Michael Jackson one time to illustrate leadership). Studied until I died out of class. I say take him in a heartbeat ==I learned so much about what managers do. It helps that Murphy used to work in a corporate job and knows how to communicate. I loved the project.

Not just a professor but a great mentor. His lectures and group case study changed how I see my career track, helped me get a job, and taught me my strengths. on another note he is fun to talk to, has a guitar in his office and is a very good musician!!!!!

Take home pizza party final. It doesn't get any better. You'll feel like your in kindergarden all over again, but actually learning something. Class is interesting, and if you miss class you'll actually feel like you missed out. He is the funniest professor ever. If you dont take him and take someone else you are retarted.

Great lectures!!! He makes boring things interesting- examples- compared LLBean's and Kenneth Cole's quality service and strategy adapting to the changing fashion world and we went online to judge clothing styles! LOVE IT

AWESOME CLASS! I really enjoy his class because he puts so much enthusiasim in his lectures as well as makes them sooo funny..can sometimes go off on tangents but he's very smart. He's really cute too, but he thinks girls = evil!! :) (i guess he was talking about his girlfriend):)

TAKE HIM! He was my fav teacher at DePaul. The class is challenging if you take the role of manager for your group work. It was a great experience. I learned more leadership skills from being a manager than anything I have ever done. He is a great guy. Class is so fun, enjoyable. He is hilarious. Very entertaining. Always willing to help. never thought I would lead a consulting team, and advise a successful entrepreneur...during college. the class is real-world and professor treats students exactly as consultants, making you learn hard lessons. He is a genius who will inspire you in more than an academic way. you can put this class project on your resume.

The BEST professor I have ever seen at Depaul. He is professional, ethical, and really cool at the same time. He brings real-world experience and the case study to class. His exams are tough because he wants students to seriously learn Management and the subject is interesting as well. It's a fun class & he turns the class into an organization.

He is nice, helpful, and EXTREMELY available. If you post something on Bb or send him an email, he'll probably get back to you within an hour (unless it's like 3 AM). If you're having problems in his class, go talk to him, and he'll fix them. Watch out though! Midterm and final are hard - I got 100 on both, but I did the reading!!

The most fun I have ever had in a class ever. He is the funnest prof in the U.S. he is very knowledgeable and helps you for everything. You wont want to miss his class because it is so fun. He is easy but midterm and final are hard but he curves it beyond belief. I would extremely recommend him even if it is not required. He is the best!!

absolutely hilarious!!! ahh i cant stress that enough! i used information from his lectures in my interviews and got impressive responses. one of the few classes ive gone to where i wanted to learn. Turns the classroom into a big family and goes out of his way to make sure you are getting the most out of his class. Definitely recommended!

Professor Murphy is such a funny guy and the class was lots of fun. He's also really easy on the eyes in a dorkycute sort of way. The exams seem difficult while taking them, but he curves them A LOT. I learned a lot and the project was a worthwhile and different experience. You should definitely take him even if the class is at 8:30 in the morning!

Professor Murphy is an excellent professor. He turn the classroom into a real organization. The class itself does not require a lot of work, if you are not a project manager. However if you do decide on taking this role be prepared to put in four hour+ a day. I loved this class and I was a project manager. You will learn a lot!!!!!!!

Professor Murphy is such a great teacher... took the class during the summer, and he altered the class into something that was actually fun to go to during summer break! Such a creative teacher, and really gets you into the subject matter. Take a class from this guy!

This professor knows entrepreneurship. I read one of his papers and I am a business owner. He made mgt go fast. He can jump! (3 feet vertical) hehe, I will not forget specific goal formulation in organizations. Take him or you miss out.

Great professor. A very easy grader. It's easy to get 100 in his class, but do not expect any help on the exams!

Murphy is not for everyone, but I think he's one of the most experienced and best professors in the program. He does not suffer fools gladly. If you follow the syllabus and his suggestions, and you can write, you will have no trouble with him!

PPJM brought in students from past classes to give project tips. Had a Director from CNA talk to the class. Lectures can be mesmerizing if he gets into it even though it was at 8:30. The class project is a ton of work but you learn management. We were the Chicago Tribune!

Love this guy!! By far one of the best profs I have had at DePaul. The class is great, although you should be aware that his midterm (wake up) exam is slightly challenging. But it is worth it, just study and put forth effort on the project and your set. A little hard work is worth the amusement you get from this guy. Murphy's the best!!!

Wonderful Professor! I've had Dr. Murphy for two courses and he is by far one of my favorite professors at DePaul. He is very energetic and really gets into his courses. I would definitely recommend taking his courses.

One of the best professors I've ever had. If you don't get along with Dr. Murphy it's because you don't listen to his suggestions and/or can't write. So knowledgeable, helpful if you see him, and a great leader for MPS. Talks a lot about Stanford, though.

Prof. Murphy made class very interesting. The midterm was very hard but the final was really easy. The main part of the class is the group project which is a pain if you have slackers in your group. Although if you talk to the professor and make it known that you are putting a lot into the project he will look highly upon it and grade you easier.

Great Professor. He takes things very seriously, and makes the class very entertaing. You have to READ the book. Lectures are okay. Two exams, and one big project. His exams are hard, but if you read you will pull off a B or A. He really makes you think about different situations.

Excellent night class, he made management fascinating and is extremely talented. What I did not love in our class was a few disrespectful students. He teaches so well. You can learn many practical ideas for your job. He wanted a test and project but class voted for photo journals+presentations. I wish we would have done a project report.

PPJM is easily one of the top three professors, if not the top, at DePaul's B-School. His lectures are entertaining, clear and with pure substance that is relevant to the subject matter. It's no wonder the Entrepreneurship program is ranked high when you have a prof. who is as engaging as he is. Challenging but not overhauling. Recommend to all!!

Prof Murphy has a unique teaching style thats for sure! Hes really tries to innovate and excite students about mgt which shows his passion for the subject. Always a fun and amusing class and would recommend him to everyone! We had barly any hw and a mid. and fin. photo hunt. Unique and fun idea however he didn't put much time into grading it.

Dr Murphy is an asset to DePaul B-School. He knows his stuff and is a great person for advice if you have any questions about the class or jobs, etc. His class is more work than others but the amount you learn makes it worth it. I've taken two of his classes and don't regret the extra work because I actually learned something.

Classes put knowledge in your brain with the target managers plus text book, and ideas are approached from different angles. more than memorization. his project is the best ever but intense because he forces professional and not student level - great for interviews. exams are graded very fast and Bb is a big part. strongly recommend!

He's a great professor. Made the class very fun and exciting. You learn a lot in this class about managerial concepts and how to think. The midterm and final was really hard, but you make up for it with the project and participation grade. Strongly recommended. He got to be one of the top at Depaul

Very entertaining professor. Funny and class time flies by fast with this one. It can be a lot of work, but its worth it because you might use it in the future. Midterm and Final isn't too hard , you just need to think "into" the venture and seperate parts and explain it. Smart professor too!-Wish there was more of him.

Prof Murphy is well dressed and always enthusiastic. He really wants everyone to work together and learn as a group, not just as individuals. The class is easy if you pay attention. You're graded on attendance, midterm, final, and project. Each are worth 25%.

Professor Murphy is good at solving issues with the clients. Take ICS 394 and go to him for help as much as you can. I saw how to start a business venture from my client and learned how to do it right from class.

I loved this class. For sure sign up to be a manager it will give you lots of experience that you can't find in another class. Professor Murphy really tries to give his students as much experience as possible and you will really enjoy going to class everyday!

The actual work for this class is time consuming and requires literally a daily commitment, but Murphy is there to help you every step of the way.

Class time flies, and he actually teaches. The group project was intense, but fun. Watch out for his exams. Questions are tricky with more than one right answer.

Listen DePaul Students: if you want to take a class worth the money you are paying for.. then take Murphy. I can write an essay illustrating how good this class is but I can sum it up with BRILLIANT. I was a Group Manager and it wasn't an easy job at all, but it was definitely a pleasant experience that i will carry on to talk a bout for years..

Take this class its super! While it is challenging you will be glad you did. Most of the class is providing help to the entrepreneurs. Don't buy the book! If you are outgoing and well organized be a team lead. They have to do a bit more work but it will be rewarding. Take him you won't regret it. Only one test and its easy and a Final presentation.

Very good class with a lot of learning to be gained. You will be be a part of a team to help grow a social venture that requires help. It will require a lot of work and motivation but I can guarantee you this "It will be worth it". Prof. Patrick will help your team along the way if you need him.

Murphy's class was challenging and educational. Why I came to DePaul's entrepreneurship program. Learn enterprise concepts taught around the world from the DePaul professor who created them and apply them in a team consulting project. He opens his network to students and is always available. No wonder he won both teaching awards at graduation.

Mutiny class takes you back 500 years but prepares you for the future as a leader. You read his book that Yale published. He presents historic events using Google earth in class. Don't leave DePaul without taking him.

Patrick Murphy is by far the greatest professor I have had at DePaul. Captivating lectures and group projects are designed for learning, not just "work". He is always available to help with questions. His material is challenging but is delivered in a very digestible way. As a student of two classes so far, Patrick earns my highest recommendation.

This professor is easily accessible outside of class, he places a value on applying concepts learned in lectures rather than tests and homework. The midterm was difficult as you have to do essays and financial analysis, but again, Professor Murphy was more than willing to answer any questions you might have. He truly wants students to learn

Professor Patrick Murphy is a true pleasure to work with. He is outstanding in delivering the crux of management concepts as well as innovation. His knowledge about entrepreneurship and social enterprises is inspirational. I was a Master's student of Data science but the course was laid out so well that I didn't have difficultly understanding it.

The knowledge gained is much higher level than other classes. He uses his own entrepreneurship theories instead of textbooks and he can integrate with many different concepts and practical examples. Take his class. The lectures are natural and he is extremely inspiring. I took him last quarter and some students cried on the last day.
