Although he is only an adjunct professor, he really seems to enjoy teaches and knows what he is talking about. Tries to make the class interesting and engaging and is always available if you have questions or need extra help
He can be very boring, espesially if you'r taking class once a week, if u tend 2 fall asleep in class don't take him-he picks on students in random Otherwhise very easy, explains all concepts (especially when u ask him) 2 midterms, final, and some hw
He is very helpful if you need his help..He will clarify everything for you if you go to tutoring. Me and my friend learned a lot during the tutoring hour. He is very understandable person..
This professor is very helpful to students, ALOT of reading, not much homework in the summer session. Very fair grader and a very nice person. I would recommend him for Law 3102.
goes out of his way to help students...really truly amazing and a very fair grader....very helpful and although he is kinda boring i would recommend him any day
One of the best, understand his students. A lot of reading, very boring at times and very gooood grader. He tells you the focal point for all his exams and list to student's comments. Take him
Very knowledgable Professor
omg can he get any more boring
he is a good professor, he can get boring but he goes out of his way many times. hw has deep knowledge on the subject, and has somewhat of a photographic memory. He is a fair grader and always helps, he assigns homework in proportion, but if u do it, it will always help you on the test.
He's an easy grader cuz there's only 3 problems on the midterm, which he grades leniently as long as your explanations are clear and sufficient to prove your answer. However, he tends to go over the problems in class a little fast but he goes over it more as long as you ask him to. Just study!
Boringgg
Easy grader who really wants to help his students so don't hesitate if you have any questions. Really explains the concepts well although the subject is obviously boring. He really tries to give as many points as possible on the exams so as long as your explanations are adequate, expect some credit.
A great professor but can be boring at times. Will stay after class and help students when asked. There are a lot of information to remember, but read the book and you should be fine.
BORING!!! He never gives more information than needed but he will give you a fair grade. What makes him boring is that he goes right by the book.
Before I took this class, I didnt think a boring professor could have an effect on my grade. Now that I've taken this professor, I've changed my mind. This guy is so boring, he scared me from opening the book and studying for the class, so now I'm trying to scrape a B. Take this guy if you want to find out that boredom can actually kill you.
yes class was verrry borin
he is a great professor
Highly recommend. Although boring at times, participate and you'll get through it. He's a very fair grader and knows what he's talking about. Clarifies any questions you have. Ask for help after class, he'll be there for you. Overall grade: A
he knows his material and if you study you should have no problems getting a good grade. one of the best profesors in Baruch
great professor that is willing to help u all the way (email, blackboard or appointments). the class is tough because law is a very hard subject but he give the best notes in class and provides sufficient examples. 2 midterm (drops lowest one) and 1 departmental final (his midterms are from previous finals)
He is one of the best professors at Baruch. He explains the material very thoroughly, and is very lenient on the tests. There are two midterms (3 questions a piece) and a departmental final (8 questions). He is also always available to take any questions -- which is important for a law class. Take him for Law 1101.
He's very smart but extremely boring. He is definetly Mr. MONOTONE. You want to fall asleep while you are in that class. exams consist of only a few problems but they are definetly not easy. Attendance is mandatory and he can randomly pick on you in class to answer a question whether you know it or you don't.
He is a awesome professor!! his tests are not that hard and he explains the material very well. He is available to help you with whatever you do not understand after class. He trys to make the subject as interesting as possible and makes the cutest jokes but at times his class can get a little boring. definatly recommend taking his class!!
Hard 2 get in2 the "rhythm" of his lectures, but u'll eventually get there.Pretty lenient and understands that LAW is a tough and substance-heavy course! Gives 2midterms and a departmental final. The mids. r questions from prev. finals so they really do prepare you. But @ the same time, the tests r not easy. i got a B and i kno NOTHING about law.
Hes a great Professor and keeps everything brief .It doesn't matter who you take in Law , there is plenty of material to cover and heck of a lot work. Over all the Professor Reed is good at teaching and just work hard thats all . I got an B and I'm also thinking about going to law school!
he is a great teacher... breaks laws down into awesome and easy check lists and explains everything briefly and to the point so you understand.. he helps you after class whenever you need it...
Easy grader, very easy exams, you just have to make sure you read the text and are there for lectures. He's a bit awkward at fist but you get used to it.
I was in Professor Walter's class for a few days before I went into Reed's class so I was able to compare the two. His class is extremely boring and doesn't even compare to Walter's class. Reed just should not teach. I regret for switching and wish I didn't have to.
Screwed up my 4.0 and gave me an A-. Not a bad professor im just pissed.
have anyone seen the movie transformer? well thats how he talks, robot tone. in other words, monotone. in other words, BORING. however, easy grader, like him only beacause of that.
Wel at first ull think u will die in this class cuz he seems extremely boring. But then u will find out that he is so cute funny and even a lit shy.Altho sometimes make u confused inclass but u need to review urself n learn urself cuz this is colleg. He is extremely helpful if u ask him questions.Altho dept final is way too hard, its not his fault.
awww he's sucha nice man..yes quite boring at times but he tells you exactly what will be on tests
he might seem boring and monotone, but he teaches from the book and all the tests are just like the homework questions, so it's pretty easy.
Boring and monotone, but he's pretty clear and would help you if you ask. Fairly lenient grader, since he doesn't require word-for-word legal principles. But still, be prepared to do a lot of memorizing.Tests are made from previous final questions, so they help prepare you well. Very nice person, like a grandpa, but don't take advantage of him.
honestly when i went to class the first day i thought this class would be painful cuz the prof seemed so boring , but he is by far the best prof i had all semester... EASY EXAMS... which prepare u well for the final. Discusses everything in class and in detail and will explain hw questions. TAKE HIM..u wont regret it
He's a nice guy, and he tries to make jokes once in a while, but the class is boring, and everything comes from the book so be prepared to memorize.
Really cool and nice professor. Two midterms and regular homework assignments which are just one question. The midterms are really helpful and he gives you partial credit. Really good prof, highly recommended, A-
Great Professor, clear on terms and how to apply them. Exams are fair, you must study and practice to do well room for extra credit, take him for law! A-
Great Professor, provides assistance for all exams and gives a curve for the final, even though it is departmental.
He is a great teacher. The way he teaches helps you remember the stuff. If your the type who doesn't fall asleep in class, then easy A!
I have to admit, he's a little dry at times. However, he teaches law really well and lets you know exactly what you need to know for the exams. Fair grader and provides helpful feedback.
Professor Reed is awesome. Easy grader, 2 test, one department final, and a few homework assignments. Even though he's boring, he's breaks down the concept very well. He's very nice like a grandpa, always willing to answer your questions.
he is a great professor, very clear, exams are not that hard. but you really have to learn the concepts and study to pass with a good grade.. TAKE HIM
he is the best prof i ever had in Barruch. he is very straight forward and clear. he gives you only what you need to know for exam and prepare you for departmental final. he is just a sweetheart.
Amazing professor. If you participate in the class and take notes all the exams will be very easy for you. Do the homework and study the problems in the book. He explains everything you should know, so listen to him. He is very helpful and you will learn a lot. 2 midterms, 1 final, small homeworks that are very easy. Take him.
He's like the grandpa you always wished you had. Probably the best Professor I've had to date. Definitely take him!
He's a great professor, explains everything well. Kinda boring, but it's law. He writes all the notes on the board so you won't really miss anything. I would definitely recommend him. Law is hard though and a lot of memorization
Very nice professor. He is pretty boring but thorough in what he teaches. You will definitely learn in this class if you pay attention. I would take him again if i could.
Unbelievably boring and dry professor. Don't get me wrong, he's a very nice guy but his teaching is equivalent to that of a lullaby. If you can stomach sitting through endless lectures listening to a monotone babble and writing down everything he says the you'll be fine. If not, like most normal people, this class will be nothing but a boring chore
Does not teach everything.
Reed is adorable in his own grandpa like way. He's an oldish man with gray hair, spiffy suit, and a briefcase. Lectures are kinda boring cause he just talks and writes notes on the board but plus side is everything on the board is solid studying material for the test! just know those things memorized down and you should be good for the tests!
Professor Reed, being a lawyer, is extremely intellectual. However, the class can easily get very boring. The exams are fairly similar to homework questions but a little more difficult as they have many steps. He is always willing to explain concepts that are unclear. Prepares immensely for departmental final. Highly recommended overall.
Reed is a great professor for Law. He writes all of the notes you need to know on the board. Just memorize the main elements for the tests and then read the textbook for anything you don't understand. HW's are textbook questions that look very very similar to the actual exams. he goes over the answers in class and explains them fully. He's the best
Takes attendance at the end of class, so don't worry if you are late. Writes evertyhing on the board, his notes are very good but just listening is can be good too. The textbook is very good for studying before exam day. He gives partial credit even if your answer is completely wrong. Homework doesn't have due dates. Take him if you like your gpa
Professor Reed is one of the best professors I've had at baruch. His grading is very straightforward. Exams are easy if you study, read the class notes he writes on the board and you'll be okay. The textbook isn't needed to do well on the exam as he explains everything. He gives a lot of partial credit on exams, just write what you know. Take him!
Fair grader, class is built to prepare you for the dept final (but you learn a lot about legal thinking along the way). Two midterms before the final: Whichever you do better on weighs heavier. Homeworks graded on a pass/fail basis and are similarly structured to final q's. Opportunities for extra credit through participation. Light textbook use.
Professor Reed is easily accessible outside of class, and he's very helpful when you do choose to visit him! In class his lectures are rather monotonous, but his notes are excellent. They basically sum up the important concepts in each chapter of the textbook. Exams are formatted like the homework questions, and the homework is graded as pass/fail.
He may not be the most entertaining professor but his notes are so helpful. He simplifies the textbook so that all the law terms are easier to understand. He gives homework every once in awhile but you get credit for it as long as you do it. There were two midterms and a final. The tests are 90% of your grade so make sure to study.
It's not difficult to do well, but you have to make sure you thoroughly understand the topics at hand. There are a few trick questions in the exams. Take notes in class, they're extremely helpful. He offered on several occasions to hold review sessions before exams. He's a great professor, don't hesitate to ask questions and ask for clarification.
Professor Reed teaches you all the material you have to know to pass his class, which is awesome. It is very surprising how rare that is... Anyways, the material is difficult, although fascinating, but this professor breaks it down so it is easier to understand. I would definitely take his class again and would encourage others to take his class.
Go to Professor Reed's office hours if you ever need help, because he is willing to explain the topics to you until you understand! He gives great feedback on written exams, and his lecture notes are very organized. The final is very similar to the questions given on his midterms.
Yes, Law is tough but he makes it worse. He grades too harshly compared to other professors, making it very difficult to get above a B. His exams are all long answer questions and he wants extremely specific answers. To get above a B, you have to memorize the whole book. He does take attendance at the end of the class so don't worry if you are late
Great professor. His lectures are amazing and teach everything you need to know. He explains things very clearly and is easier to understand than the textbook. There is very light textbook use since his notes are really all you need. He goes over a lot of practice problems that are similar to the midterms and final, so takes notes!
He's a great professor in teaching. His teaching style is clear and understandable. BUTTTTT, he's a tough grader! his main words are "I am very loose on giving extra credits for those of you got the wrong answer, but I am really stinky on giving credits for those of you got the answer correct! I am seeking for a perfect explanation." you are going
Prof Reed is pretty dry, and very technical. However, if you pay attention, take notes (he writes down EXACTLY what you need to know on the board), and if you participate, then the material of this class isn't bad. He makes you work for your grade. His tests resemble the format of the final, which was very helpful. He also gives a lot of E.C.
90% of your grade is based on exams with no extra credits. There are much easier and better professors so do not take him if you want to keep your GPA high.
He's a great professor and a fair grader. He can be really helpful in persuading you to do better. He can be funny at times and super cute.
EVERYTHING ON THE EXAM IS COVERED BY HIS NOTES THAT HE WRITES ON THE BOARD. Very caring and tries to make jokes once or twice in class so have at it!
Hes adorable. Everything on tests are on what he writes on the board. Tests are kind of hard, depends if you have a knack for law. I personally don't get it but he is fair. Make sure you are clear on the tests and explain each one and use law terms. For typed homeworks, you are allowed to edit when he goes over in class.
He really explains things into detail chapter wise. He does take attendance at the end of class. It is 3 tests and easy homework assignments.
This class can be boring at times but it's a boring topic to begin with. The professor is kind of robot like when he talks but he is really caring and generous with his grading system. The tests are straightforward just take notes and read the textbook, don't bother with the cengage he never assigned anything there.
your final exam grade is 100% of your final grade. No curves.
he's boring at times but very nice. Everything u need is going to be on the board. Hw is all P/F based on if you did it. Gives a lot of partial credit. Holds review sessions for exams. Final is departmental but he tells you whats on and not on it even though department says no. Knows his stuff and textbook is unnecessary, he emails all the hws to u
Reed is nice but boring. The whole class is him speaking in a monotone voice, but if you're into law it's interesting. Tests are easy because he gives examples in class, minimal homework. He's a solid choice, lots of note-taking though, and he writes them on the board so DONT miss class you'll regret it. 2 tests and a final, so study as you learn
He is kind and will help you. He is a bit awkward when teaching but I enjoyed the class but was confused at times. Defintely work with two other people in the class when studying and doing hw to pass. I met two people at the library everytime so we all were able to do well and went to his study sessions. Ask for help and study.
He takes everything from his slides and includes them on exams so study up. He had a bit of a monotonous tone which made it harder to focus. He was nice but lacked enthusiasm.
Like everyone says, his voice is very monotone but he will throw in a joke here and there. He's caring to his students and is a sorta lenient grader. 2 midterms and 1 final, all short answer questions that have multiple parts. Yes textbook, and has a few homework assignments.
Law is a very difficult subject. No teacher can make it easy. But Professor Reed tries his best. His homework prepares you for exam questions. His lectures and PowerPoints outline EXACTLY what you need to know for exams, so please thoroughly review them, they're a huge help. He's very lenient on grading exams and is liberal with partial credit.
Although his lectures might be slow, it's all interesting material and worth learning. He is very lenient with his exams and any assignments (grading-wise). He also responds to emails very fast. Overall, a great professor, 100% recommend.
He was an awesome prof. Really clear and willing to help outside of class. Tests werent bad at all and hw was light. 10/10 would take again.
He does have lectures of PowerPoint slides and several pdf files of law cases/examples and does a solid job in presenting and teaching them.
He is one of the best law professors at Baruch. Law professors are usually very picky and tough graders. Professor Reed gives you good points for trying. Never paid attention in class, just read sometimes on my own and did really good. He's very understanding and his work is light compared to other professors. Take him !
Hes a very solid professor. Law seemed like an intimidating subject, but he teaches it well. He tries to be funny during his lectures sometimes. He is monotone and his lectures are boring at times, but he gets the job done. His pp slides cover everything on his tests, so if you review them a bit it shouldnt be hard. Lenient grader as well.
Reed is a really nice and honest guy. Although the class wasn't mind blowingly interesting (and can be a bit boring at times) it was certainly well paced and he explained every aspect of his lectures very clearly. Super straightforward and easy to grasp the content if you show up and pay attention. He is incredibly knowledgable and approachable.
His lectures make you want to sleep, and he just reads off the PowerPoint. It is an easy A as long as you actually read the PowerPoint and do the homework. Exams are just like the in-class examples and homework. Not much actual work. DO NOT BUY THE MINDTAP. YOU WILL NOT USE IT ONCE. IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY!!! The powerpoints have everything.
Although his lectures will make you sleep but he really nice/sweet love him! He very lenient grader and everything he teaches us on the PowerPoint that he gives to us on Blackboard. His tests are just like the homework so as long you do good on that and see his feedback on how you can improve you should be fine!
He is a great professor and extremely straightforward. He will tell you to buy a textbook, but for the most part, everything you need to do well is in the slides. His slides are extremely helpful; if you show up and pay attention you will do great. He also goes through many examples in class. There is not a heavy course load.
While lectures may feel very long and tedious since he only uses PowerPoint, he is very knowledgeable and capable. Solid teacher overall. Super straightforward class with clear instructions. Everything you need is in the slides he provides. He does not try to trick you at all.
Definitely one of the toughest professors at Baruch but he means well and tries to bring out the best in his students. If you wanna become a better writer, definitely take this guy.
This class is for those who actually want to put the work into actually learning about law. If you actually put the work into this class, you'll do perfectly fine and learn a lot. Reed makes things very straight forward and not more difficult than it needs to be.
He's one professor who grades harshly but means well for anyone who he's teaching. If you really wanna learn how a lawyer should act, take this guy because he's realistic with how it is. He's very caring and allows for extensions if you ask, as well as letting you submit it early with feedback so you could resubmit it later. Amazing professor.
He's a really tough grader for no reason whatsoever, these reviews seem to be written by him, beware of taking this professor all he does is show up take attendance, and read off the slides. His grading makes no sense and there is no clear rubric. He is a tough professor who doesn't make it clear what he wants. Take another professor.
If you like law you can take this course, but beware that the professor doesn't curve exams. The homeworks are simple and there are 2 written assignments.
Not a lot of homeworks but when it is given , it is pretty simple. Grades are majority based on testing and 2 papers and homeworks. Attendance is 5% my advice is do good on the tests. He is a really nice professor and is very understanding. Gave couple extensions. Would most definitely take him again.
Law is hard. Show up to class and pay attention. Participate in class. It shows him that you care. He cares about his students. He replies to emails instantly. He will also read your work before you submit it. He is a very nice professor. 1 Midterm,1FInal,2 memos, a few hws
He is a nice professor
Teaches in a way that will directly translate to exams. The lectures are a bit boring but help you learn the material. A lot of time is given to work on few assignments, giving you time to work on them closely. Exams are essay format and not curved but partial credit is given. You will need to practice answering questions in the format he teaches.
Very generous professor
he is very sweet. i had a hard time understanding him the whole semester but by following his lectures you should be fine for exams. he reads off the slides
Professor cares about his students
He teaches very systematically. If you pay attention and digest all his lectures you should be alright.
Reed tends to just read off the slide and uses slide information on practice questions. Homework's are easy and online just pay attention to the homework's because they relate to midterm. One writing assignment which is the same as the final but counts a lot so do good. Overall, very good professor, just pay attention and you will do good.
He is a very light grader; as long as you can provide reasoning with your answers on the midterm and final, you will get at least some credit. As long as you pay attention and put in the effort, you will do well in his class. He also cares about the class and will explain as needed.
