Ward is extremely hilarious. He is great to have as an honors advisor (head of the program).

Have to do the homework! I managed a C without doing the homework, but barely and was very tough. I struggled throughout but he was entertaining and was very good. I really enjoyed his class, even though he was difficult.

He was so great! My grandmother passed away during the semester and he took the extra time to during his office hours to catch me up and make sure I understood. He was great at making sure everyone understood what was going on in class.

Excellent job on explaining. Everyone likes a teacher who is funny, and Ward is. He sets the class up so that it is not only a learning class but it is also fun.

Ok, whoever wrote that last one must have been way too sensitive. He makes learning Math not only easier to understand, but also fun. Go figure...Math being fun. His only down fall is that he's a Cheese-head...but his taste in imported beer is impecable.

Pat is great i had to take it honors and he helped so much with my project during the time. he helped everyone so much and though he was sarcastic it was all in good fun. i got an A easily in that class and loved evry minute of it. wish i could have him for Calc 3 (or Diff-Eq for that matter.)

hands down best math teacher i have ever had! i hate math, but this class was not that bad. he made sure you understood what was done, and why it was. easy to talk to and very helpfull. take him if you have the chance. didnt grade homework! however you have to do it to understand. made class fun.

Ward is a must take for everyone at ICC. He is the coolest teacher ever. Not only does he get you excited about math, but also encourages you to do well. Grades hard, but very fair. Those with super-sensitive feelings should be carefull,since he picks on students in the class, but does it equally. This makes class alot of fun. BEST TEACHER EVER.

I only had him for a sub, but he is awesome. He makes it fun and time flys. Very pleasant and easy to learn from. I will definetly take him in the future for math classes if possible.

I failed this guy's class, then retook it and got a D and I still think he's one of the best professors I've ever had! I blaim only myself for the bad grades. I was just lazy & thought I didn't have to study. I ended up passing a higher class with a B years later because I applied myself. Now I'm starting Calculus & hope I can get Ward again.

Very funny guy

He was an amazing teacher! I never wanted to miss class because he was so much fun! I had an 8 am class everyday of the week. I am not at all a morning person and I wanted to get up and go to this class. It was a fantastic way to start my morning! I thoroughly enjoyed him as a person and as a professor. He is a blast to have in class.

I have always done poorly in all of my previous math courses and after taking his class...I actually loved doing math. He showed us that it's everywhere.

Great taecher. i recomend gettin him if you can. he is very helpful and is easy to get along with. the way he teaches is great. and you only have one homework assignment per chapter and you get at least 2 or more weeks to do it. and its online

I took this class on live and it was totally do-able with work, family and other classes. He was easily accessable (some on-live profs aren't) He gave math a new twist that made it interesting.

Great teacher! Very, very helpful. He understands that people have a life outside of the classroom that may interfere, and he does not make you choose between your grade and your family (or work) obligations. I would definitely recommend him!!

Saved my life!! I had a terrible teacher for the 1st 1/2 of the semester and one day she was gone and he was there. Myself & the majority of the class were failing. By the end of the semester he had almost everyone above a C. Blew my mind.

GREAT Teacher!! very lively and class goes by quickly. Uses MyMathlab for homework, an average of 50? per chapter. Explains things very clearly. Dont have to study hard for the tests if you attend the class regularly.

He was the most influential Professor I've ever had. Has an unending knowledge of Math. I took calc with him, He taught the class at a higher level than what I was used to (I'm a High school kid). I'd recommend that everyone take math with him. He pushed me farther than I thought possible and kept a boring topic interesting

Mr. Ward was my professor for Online Math 110. For my first online class it went really well. He responded to e-mails really quickly, and was flexible. He reopened due dates sometimes, if people forgot which saved my life at one point!! I don't really have any complaints as far as on line math goes :)

He is a math genious. I found his class extremly hard, and his tests are very hard too. He is very sarcastic and tends to make fun of students. He doesn't do it to be mean but I thought he was a bit intimidating because of it. Teacher is not bad but the class is!

He is the first math teacher I've ever had that could actually teach math! I can't recommend him enough. He's funny and energetic and he loves math, and he puts things clearly and doesn't mind going over things more than once if you don't understand. Like I said, I can't recommend him enough!

AMAZING TEACHER!! College Algebra is not necessarily the easiest class BUT he has a way of explaining it to where if you show up for class, take notes, & do your online homework, you will succeed! When it comes to math, he is THE smartest person I know! Absolutely brilliant!

I came here with my highest level of math being discrete and trigonometry from high school, but Ive always been good at math so I jumped into Calc I. I couldnt have asked for a better teacher for this transition, amazing. Extremely clear and loves to teach. Absolute genius.

Very good teacher. Knows stuff from all fields of mathematics, and can explain stuff to just the right level to understand it. He's also very entertaining and has probably memorized Dr. Seuss's ABC's. Take him if you get the chance.

If you go to ICC and you have to take a math class that he teaches, do whatever it takes to get into his class. He is one of, if not the, best math teachers I have ever had. ICC would be lost without him really!

Hadn't taken a math class in 6 years. I absolutely hated math and just took it because I needed to brush up on it. Note that I said hated, because after having him as a professor I wondered why I thought I was so bad at math

I have never had a better teacher. He doesn't take it easy on you because he sees the potential in everyone. If you are struggling he goes out of his way to help you understand. I would take the class again in a heartbeat.

Only 6 homework assignments and 6 quizzes and 1 midterm. No final. There are discussion posts every week but you don't have to discus, you just post and very easy like post your prior experiences with the Pythagorean theorem. Homework sometimes very lengthy but easy class! Very understanding too!

If you can, take any available math courses with Prof Ward! He knows his stuff and is great at explaining the material in a clear way. Tests are easy if you study what he goes over in class. I'd take again anytime!

I haven't really been good at math since I was a sophomore in high school and this is my first online math college class and I can say it is very easy as long as you do the homework and quizzes. It is very helpful as in the book is just a click away and there is examples you can follow. Only one midterm, one project, and no final.

Prof ward does a ton of examples and always asks if we're following what he is explaining. A bit of a smart alleck but super funny and cares about you doing well. I try to get him for any math class that I can.

Great professor! Always willing to help and go through steps to make sure things are clear. Participation is a big thing expected from him however, he does not force you. He does a great job going over what will be on his tests so you are able to prepare yourself.

While math has always been difficult for me, this course was easy to follow with examples from the book and online prompts. One homework and quiz per chapter. One test to come in person to take. Few email interactions I did have with him to confirm quiz answers were curt (like I should know what was the right answer) but don't be put off by that.

This professor is fantastic at his job. He really cares about his students in the class. His grading criteria is clear and understandable. His tests/quizes are not very hard unless you didn't study for them. I would reccomend this professor to everybody. I hate math & I am terrible at it but I passed every math class of his with a high B-low A.

Professor Ward does a wonderful job at his job. You can tell he seriously cares about the success of his students. He's also VERY easy to speak with and recieve help from if unsure about anything. He basically wont move on unless you understand the given material. I took him for 094 and he told me i have the ability of moving on so i went to 110!

Mr. Ward is one of the best professors I have ever had. He makes math matter. His "real world math" breaks in class are often my favorite part. This class is three hours long, and I would not be able to sit through it with any other teacher. Have a question? He won't move on until he is sure you understand. He is also hilarious.

Ward is quite honestly one of the best professors I had this semester. Although I did not struggle with his class like I did others, he is very adamant on ensuring students know the concepts of what he is teaching. I would highly recommend taking his courses.

Patrick Ward is probably the best math instructor Ive had in my entire school career. I HATE math, but I loved this class. He has a real-world application for every concept he teaches, which makes it that much easier to understand. Hes hilarious and I 100% recommend taking him if youre looking for someone who can make math an enjoyable subject.

Although he doesn't like students coming late and attendance is mandatory, you will never want to miss his class. Missing his class is just missing out on the most fun part of your day. Classes are super fun. I don't usually say this but wish I had Mr. Ward for all the courses required for my degree! Pro tip: Ask him for "cool math facts"

Fantastic at taking time with each student who is having difficulties in the class. Ward loves to crack jokes, but always knows how to bring it back and get down to business. Ward is also awesome at giving the study materials needed for tests and exams.

he opens all homework and quizzes right away gives plenty of time to do assignments. Post to discussion board for easy points. You can do the homework as many time as possible to get a 100%. If you put in a little work you'll get a good grade.

I would definitely recommend this professor. He is motivated and want to help you understand math that you will encounter in real life. His project based teaching was fun and super helpful. before i started the semester i was questioning if i would pass but once in class i had an A all through the semester and even for the final:)

I loved going to Patrick Ward's class. He is very sarcastic and always has an interesting "math in real life" example. And while he does expect you to show up and do the work, he is also willing to go over any problems that are giving you trouble. Highly recommend:)

Ability to get 100% on ALL homework. Final is given half way through the semester - online class but had to go to campus for final. Responds to emails quickly. Will work with you for grade. One discussion board due each week. Gave email reminders of what was due each week.

100% would recommend. He's hilarious and will help you with anything you need help on. He makes class enjoyable and always makes sure no one is lost. If you're choosing between 2 professors take him.

Definitely recommend Mr. Ward. One of the best math teachers I've had. He gives lots of help in class and is willing to work with you outside of class. Very sarcastic and makes lectures funny. Also helped me when I changed majors and was willing to sit down and plan classes with me which was nice.

I took an online class in Summer. He is a great teacher. He gives out the videos and powerpoints. You will have 2 attempts on each quiz, unlimited times on homework, and 1 attempt for the final exam. His assignments are clear, but you have to study and practices a lot to get the best scores. Highly recommended!

The class I took was very hard, but Prof Ward was definitely a good choice for taking it with. Despite the class being online, he was still able to convey the tough mathematical concepts well and was always willing to help explain or have an extra zoom call.

LOVED THIS TEACHER! He is not the regular boring math teacher, his classes are very enjoyable! He relates to his students and wants to see all of us succeed. Had a few zoom meetings to better understand this course, but other than that I barely knew the prof. I must say tho, he really made me understand math.

Professor Ward has a good way of explaining problems throughout his lectures. His method of teaching really stresses the understanding of certain concepts. An example would be when we started learning limits. He made us go through several difficult problems on proving a limit, which made the actual limit problems on the tests much easier.

I have dreaded taking my math class, but prof Ward made the class so easy and understandable. Very nice guy and is 100% reachable outside of classroom. He wants everyone to pass his class so it is structured in a way you are guaranteed to pass as long as you do the assignments.

Fantastic teacher with super involved lectures and classwork. Turn a subject I am typically very bad at into a class I enjoyed and did fairly well in. Went to office hours many times and got very helpful feedback. If a math class you plan on taking is taught by Prof. Ward, he is definitely the one to take it from.

I took calc 2 and we covered some of the hardest topics I've ever encountered in math, but he was very clear with his lectures and worked through problems with us. He never left his students completely on their own in learning. He is also full of personality, class never felt monotonous. He's very helpful when you need it personally as well.

He is very down to earth and loves what he teaches. For the class I took it was for mostly AIT students and he knew that. Every subject we learned he applied it to ways we'd apply it in the field. Even though not all of us were good at math he went at a steady pace and made sure no student was left behind.
