Funny guy & keeps u entertained at 8 AM, but doesn't quite treat everyone equally. Says he's straight-forward with grades, but he really isn't...seems to play favorites at times & can be a big a**hole when he wants to be one.

Great guy, easy grader just meet the page length requirement. Funny as hell, and almost never holds class to the full time. What more can you ask for? Only bad thing is that he likes the Steelers. If he was a Ravens fan he'd be perfect

Whitey is the MAN! He's active; he's funny; and he'll keep you awake easily. I never thought that I'd say it, but English 110 with Whitey was one of my favorite classes at UD.

Whitey is awesome! this guy should be a comedian not an english teacher. you get credits for listening to 50 minutes of stand-up 3 times a week and writing a paper every now and then. Pretty easy grader as well. I strongly recommend taking his civil war colloquim as well. Just an awesome guy.

Whitey is the best! I never thought an hour of Civil War lecture would become the highlight of my week. Crams an amazing amount of information into an overall light workload without losing your interest. Favorite class all semester!

For those of you who just need that 2nd writing requirement TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He tells it like it is no BS and does not try to trick you. Hes very clear on how he grades. Had him for an 8am class in which I actually didnt mind going to, made class interesting.

whitey is the absolute man in every way. his class was by far the easiest thing ive ever had and i never minded going to it. if i had 5 teachers like him a semester id get a 4.0 no matter what. got an easy A writing a paper every time before it was due at 4 AM. take it immediately if possible

Whitey is awesome. He actaully got me interested in the Civil War, even though I never was before. I'm gonna take another course with him next semester, just because he's Whitey. You'll have lots of fun counting his alchohol references and hearing about his ex-wives too.

Whitey is a great proffesor. Never too serious, can be hilarious. His lectures are very boring tho because he goes over everything 10 times. Also, he preaches conservative doctrines all class. Either way, its a fun class, and its impossible to not get an A. The tests on the books he has you read are soo easy. No final.

Dr. White says "as far as that's concerned," "you know what I mean," and "ok" at least 50 times in one class period. If you get bored just count the number of times he says one of those 3 phrases and you will get through. YOU HAVE TO LOVE THIS MAN! HE IS AWESOME!

Professor White made the class entertaining and kept me awake at 8AM. If he had not been my professor I highly doubt I would have dragged myself out of bed so early in the morning

Easy teacher. Show that you've given some effort and you should get an easy A. I was bored in his class although it was just because of the material (Civil War) But definitely take ****. He's a cool guy. And count the phrases like the person said below!! It's hilarious! It kept me awake in many classes.

If you do not take this man for winter session you are clearly insane--seriously TAKE HIM and you will be so happy. Easiest A i have ever had and i absolutely hate english--no reading, papers on whatever topic you want, and short classes, need i say more?

I'm an engineering so I'm forced to take english but man, was this class great. Whitey is just the man. He rambles sometimes (who doesn't) but if you pay attention, he's hysterical. Extremely clear with his explanations for assignments and a very fair grader. He knows you're not there to write a thesis so man up and get the work done. Great guy!

Whitey is by far probably the BEST professor I've ever had at UD and by far the BEST English professor I've ever had. He knows his stuff, is fair when it comes to grading, and is really outgoing. His assignments are pretty easy so long as you follow his directions. Take any class with Whitey, and I promise you will enjoy it!

Whitey is an amazing professor. He wants you to succeed in his course and it's not tough to do so if you attend class, follow instructions and write moderately well. He's both a fun and funny professor and person (don't let the tough, left-wing-hating front fool you).

Whitey keeps things interesting and is a very understanding professor. Even if literature analysis isn't your thing, he's a very fair grader as long as you put the effort in. Highly recommended, one of my favorite professors thus far.

Just read through the rest of Whitey's comments...he is the man. Reading and discussing the literature wasn't painful as it always has been in the past and grading was reflective of the effort put in. Take Whitey if you want to get something more out of a required lit/engl class.

If you do not get an A in this class, you either: 1.) did not show up to class over 6 times 2.) did not follow directions or 3.) do not know how to listen. He is crystal clear and he really keeps the class entertaining by giving out hilarious examples of what not to do. He also grades extremely fairly and gives almost everyone a second chance.

The BEST prof. He makes everything easy to relate to. Gives life lessons in class that brilliantly tie into what he's teaching. He's funny and loves his job. Go to him for help and he'll solve it. Such a good professor that cares. I repeat CARES.

I have never met a more genuine individual. He was such a vibrant character, and even though he had a dark sense of humor, he was an optimist at heart. RIP.
