Great Professor very caring about his students. He knows what he is talking about, very intelligent, not a bad grader. He definitely makes sure that you get what he is talking about. Gives everybody a chance to do well in the class.

I took macroeconomics with him. He's smart, knows what he's talking about. I wasn't very familiar with the terms prior that class, but I definitely learned some new things. I did not do well in one of the exams, but he let us retake the bad one. Not dropping the lowest grade, but changing it if you do better the second time.

He is the best!

He is a very practical man, he can give you a real life advice. He is easy going and really helps you before the tests. (I think you have to be really dumb to get C in his class.) If you have a choise, get him to teach your class.

Professor Yanez has a very clear and concise way of teaching the class. His method engages you and will keep you interested. There is a good balance to the class that is not overwhelming but very detailed and informative. I highly recommend this professor.

hes such a cutie i loved him, tests are STRAIGHT from the powerpoint, TAKE HIS MAKE UP EXAMS THEY'RE THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL EXAMS SO YOU CAN DO 100 ON IT AND HE TAKES THE HIGHER GRADE ALWAYS!his curves are huge i went from a 66 to in the 80s. not that his tests are hard i'm just an idiot and didn't study like i should have. no breifings test days

I was afraid to take economics but it is a required course for FMM. I am doing very well in this class. He is very organized and he explains everything. He asks 100 times in class if anyone has any questions. I hpe he teach micro next semster.

hes such a nice guy, he would give u As on everything if he could. easy class, no hw or papers or assignments. 3 tests, study his slides and definitions from the book. if u pay attention, u could learn alot beyond the scope of the lectures, hes very knowledgable. yes monotone at times, but its not too boring overall. i would take this teacher again

Professor Yanez was excellent online. You must engage in discussions in order to get a good grade which allows for you to learn more on the topic. Reading the required reading is absolutely important. He is extremely knowledgeable in this area. I will definitely take him again whether online or in class.

Awesome professor! This is a class you will actually learn something in. He is very helpful, outlines everything in the semester, the classes are actually interesting and he allows make up exams at the end of the semester to improve your grade. Love Prof. Yanez! Only wish that more professors in FIT were like him.

He is organized with a set curriculum and has power points. He is passionate about the subject and comical. He has a deep understanding of international trade and gives interesting facts in class. I never wanted to miss any of his classes. I have come across many hard rock professors at FIT, and Yanez is a truly a gem.

Great professor. Hard to understand sometimes but very, very sweet. Read the book (which is LONG), take the quizzes, and you'll pass the class. All of the test questions come from the quizzes. Some of the tests are online. Will definitely be taking another class with him!

This was for the ITM winter practicum, so it was really field trips and a final project all done in Panama. He was great to travel with and clearly knew a lot about international trade. Was very fun!

Weekly online quizzes (makes a difference in final grade) Long and boring lectures, it's not his fault though, the subject is very dry. He's nice, considerate and flexible. Tries to work w you. I went to tutoring because Macro got confusing and i kept falling asleep in class cause it was so boring... didnt use the textbook AT ALL n still passed!

i seriously fell asleep in class EVERY week for like 20 minutes and hes so nice that i tried not to but i had a long day and his lectures are really long and boring, he just reads off the powerpoint and doesnt really ask questions, some in class work (super easy), weekly quizzes (EASY)... dont buy the textbook!!! I didnt use it ONCE, i got a B

Lectures are a little long, but he's a good guy. Weekly online homework but they were not hard at all. Straight from the book. Learned a lot from this class.

As a transfer student I didn't know what to expect, but this class made me like international trade. I enjoyed lectures and readings. He is very funny and knows a lot about fashion business. I would take other class with him. I got a B+ in this class.

Come to the lecture, read the chapter and take an online homework and then 2 online quizzes throughout the semester. He reminded me why being at FIT is special and why its not like other schools. He has a lot of experience so it is great hearing those stories.

Fantastic professor! International trade online was Interesting and easy. The only work is discussions and weekly quizzes with answers straight out of the textbook, book report, and midterm and final just like the quizzes. I hope I get to take Professor Yanez again before I graduate because his class was interesting and not stressful at all.

Really enjoyed this course and the professor.

This class is really not all that difficult. The textbook can get a little boring, but all the homeworks and tests are multiple choice, and if you find a really interesting topic in the textbook to write a forum post on, then you're golden! I almost wish I took the in-person class because Professor Y seems really great!

Easy A! All homework is on blackboard, quizzes and final as well. All online. Just show up for the lectures.

AMAZING!!! it's up to you whether you want to pass or fail. show up, pay attention and understand the materials so you can do the assignments that are required. he's a very good professor and he knows his things.. Professor Yanez's international trade course is the simplest and clear class you will ever take. There is one book report but it is not difficult, tests and homework are online. He lectures and you are always out of class early and provides us with notes. not to mention he is so caring and sweet! So enthusiastic!

Prof. Yanez has a lot of experience behind him. You can learn a lot from him. If you take him online, there's a discussion post every week that goes over an assigned chapter from the textbook and you reply to at least two people. There is a book report which is really easy to complete and a final exam. Take his classes!!!

I had professor Yanez Twice. I love this teacher, he will leave you alone as long as you do your part. The book is actually fun to read and big font size. do your weekly reading, homeworks in a form of quiz, 3 posts on BB, 20 question midterm. Easy Peasy.

As long chapter readings are done, weekly homework quizzes (10 questions) are easy. Midterms and final are open book, each question is mentioned in which chapter. Clear grading and syllabus information. Only project is a book report, and grading criteria is very clear.

This is my 2nd time taking Prof. Yanez and it was just as wonderful as the first time! In this class, you will learn a lot about different perspectives in research and he does a great job explaining concepts. Assignments are 2 briefings, discussion board posts, midterm, term project, and final. Just an easy-going teacher who enjoys teaching A LOT!

his class was remote, and the zoom does get pretty boring. he is a really nice professor and his work is straight forward. HW and quizzes are easy and he does reach out to students to see how theyre doing

Yanez is really cool and if you take an online class, it's an easy class, higher chance that you will get an A if you keep up with your work. You just write discussion boards and quizzes every week. He is a down to earth individual too so I totally recommend this class!

Professor Yanez online class is so easy. You learn a lot from him since he gives a structured class where you only do weekly quiz and discussion board. He is a down to earth and understanding professor and if you happen to take online, it saves you time and his class is really easy since you can get an easy A!

The sweetest professor at FIT, he even brought us all cotton flowers when we were learning about cotton :) He is so passionate about this field and is truly an amazing person and teacher, you can tell he really cares. Textbook is a little dense at times but quizzes are pretty easy. Oral briefings in class can be a lil scary but he's encouraging

I hate to be writing this. He is such a sweet guy, but his lectures are long asf and will put you to sleep. He's extremely boring. This class would be so fun and actually interesting if he had a stronger voice and didn't just focus on ice breakers the whole semester.

I LOVED professor Yanez! His lectures are definitely lengthy but very informative. We did three oral briefings, which sounded more intimidating than they actually were. We had weekly hw quizzes, which were very easy as long as you read the required material. We also had most of the semester to do a book report, which was also easy. Highly recommend

Honestly, perfect prof to take for an online class. One of the few professors who didn't make me resent the course, I actually ENJOYED his classes. I've taken him two semesters in a row and would take him for every class tbh. Just overall chill, no nonsense, straightforward assignments. Love-love-love his classes

The expectations are straight-forward; complete the discussions and quizzes each week by the deadlines. It was really nice having a simple class where the main thing was just digesting the material from the textbook. Grades are seen at the end, but it's no issue if you do all of your work on time.
