great teacher
tests were hard, new prof, go to class and you
Very nice and helpful - don't expect her to be gentle with marking though!
Was a very good teacher. Encouraged class discussions.

she is an awesome prof
A very good women, excellent teacher who will go the extra mile if you need help.
great, fun, prof though hard marker
Relatively easy course, excellent teacher who make it more fun.
sexy teacher.
talks down to the class like we're a bunch of kindergarten kids who don't understand why we shouldn't colour on the walls.
Excellent and clear. Often uses simple language, usually based on the ability level of the students in her class. She is delightful and I have retained so much of what she taught!
Great Prof! She really helps you get into the course material and understand it! Test are quite easy!
one of the BEST Profs @ ryerson. take any course she teaches and you'll totally love it!
She is the best teacher I have ever had. I never wanted to miss a class. If you have the chance take one of her classes.
Not only are her classes interesting and entertaining, she is funny and very sexy. I would take any class that she teaches.
Patrizia is one of the most awesome teachers at Ryerson. She's totally herself and students love her because she's easy to relate to and we can easily be honest with her. Loved her class, and would love to have her again at a prof!!
Shes excellent in lectures...but dont be suprised when u get ur papers back..shes very critical when it comes to papers. Other than that shes awesome to learn from. Interesting ways of teaching to make u understand the material =)
Amazing Prof!! Makes the class interesting with her jokes and sense of humor.
The freakin BEST. So cool, so nice, so helpful, and her lectures help you remember things SO well. She puts jokes in her tests/exams, now THAT'S cool. I hope I have her again!
This was my favourite professor EVER! She does such a good job at explaining things and makes us all laugh. She's very considerate too. When I was sick, she didn't make me go thru the hassle of getting a doctor's note.
so funny, can go to her with all your problems
awesome teacher!...very funny :D
She's is absolutely amazing! Such a wonderful prof to have. Her sense of humor adds fun to the lectures and makes the whole classroom environment very comfortable. Very helpful. Wish I could have her teach all my other courses! Excellent job Patrizia!!!
Cool teacher.
Great prof. Really nice. Makes sociology entertaining (to say the least). Course material was really dry, but she made it interesting. One of my fav profs.
Awesome~!! This prof was so good, when I had the chance to take another course with her, I transferred into her class. Really knows how to teach well, fair marker, has realistic expectations of her students, nice and funny. ^_^
soo nice, funny, really helpful. she is awesome.
She's the nicest prof I've ever had. Makes you feel so at ease, and not remotely intimidating. Makes lectures interesting and even makes you laugh a few times. She just needs to organize them a little better. I'm ALL about the powerpoint.
Patrizia is a wonderful professor. Enough said!
I cannot stand her way of teaching. She is not informative and cannot give a single lesson without mentioning sex. It's thoroughly disturbing.
Dumbs herself down so she can flirt and "be cool" - every example includes references to sex or drugs. Very disorganized. (No more overheads!) Don't know if this is always true, but the markers for this class were awful. Late marking assignments and deducted marks without reason or comments.
Calm down you prudes, we're all adults here afterall. Somebody actually COMPLAINED about her references to sex! WTF? I loved her. She was incredibly nice & funny, and I don't think any of it was to be "cool". Not all profs have to be lifeless & drone on for 2 hrs. I'd love another class with her :)
she was amazing. one of the best profs i've ever had. her charismatic and enthusiastic teaching style allowed for an easy going learning environment. i would love to have another class with her.
loves it !
She is a wonderful lady and has made me want to continue a major in this course. She is a wonderful speaker and great leader. She cares about her students and she is very intelligent

Patrizia is the best Sociology prof at Ryerson. Had 5 and no one compares..if you have her, be thankful.
I love her. A little bit of a tough marker. But a great prof who makes every lecture fun and interesting.
Amazing fun interesting...powerful best course at Ryerson in four years!!! Thanks Patrizia
MORE EXCITED THAN ANYONE I HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE.VERY COOL PROFF. :)
Great and encouraging teacher. Very helpful and understanding when I went to her in office hours.

Great Prof. Very interesting lectures. Very structured and clear lectures. Very structured and clear assignments. Multiple choice exams are easy. But you should really study both the lecture notes and the textbook.

I agree...great prof, very enthusiastic about the material.
Simply Superb
Patrizia was great... her lectures were very organized and easy... the textbook was kind of a waste because her lectures were pretty much the same as the textbook but overall great prof.
Overall, she was an enjoyable professor who was always willing to help or go out of her way to explains things.
Best prof at ryerson! Well organized prepares you well for tests, helpful
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THAT PATRIZIA ALBANESE IS HANDS DOWN THE COOLEST TEACHER AT RYERSON! she makes learning fun and she's funny with her witty comments and sarcastic humour!! take this class; it is beneficial esp. for Soc. students. Best of luck and happiness to you Prof. Albanese. :)
AMAZING PROF!!! She made ACS understandable...had this been Kraay and Hunter, it would have been a repeat of the 105 disaster. Only reason I got a D was because I didn't hand**** in on time.
Most amazing prof I have encountered at Ryerson thus far. She is understanding, fair, and dare I say... COOL?! She managed to make an otherwise dull subject into something I was encouraged to learn and that is an important quality.
very good prof.. I didn't like the course but had to take it..She made the class very interesting and funny. The assignment was crap and time consuming but she helped me alot! people go and see her! my advice is go to class take notes and do little reading> the test are tricky but doable ...overall, take her class, she's A+
She is super helpful and nice. Very clear and really understand students
She treats the class like a stand up routine. You're going to go to class, take notes and study, like you do in every other class, but not get the same results. A really petty marker too, will take marks off for not putting the name of the course after the course code. I lost a full mark because of that. Just expect a C+ in this class.
Makes an unenjoyable class somewhat tolerable. BUT marking is ridiculous. A class which should be a breeze becomes painful and a struggle to receive appropriate grades. Very nice lady, very enjoyable person, but if academics are a concern - maybe avoid her class.
Really awesome lady. The content she teaches sucks but she tried! Hard marker, but very open to helping students improve
Amazing Prof. Actual class was terrible but she somehow made it enjoyable. Great sense of humour! I would jump at the opportunity of having her as a prof again!
She's awesome! Totally into what she was teaching and VERY CLEAR. She made an 8am class very entertaining! But the marking is very nit-picky, make sure you follow ALL the instructions and double check everything! Otherwise, very good.
not a good prof and class was extremely boring
Married to Prof. Drakulic! Now that's some couple) They are two of the most hilarious profs I've had at Ryerson. Turned the absolutely boring concepts/definitions class into a fun and engaging experience.Marking is very specific but most of it was done by her TAs. They were pretty bad and made many mistakes. She rocked!
Shes the sweetest most helpful professor! her husband passed away upon beginning to teach the course and she still managed to teach with enthusiasm! i love her
She's amazing, funny, sweet and intelligent. She tells you exactly what she wants and if you do it you will get an A in this class.
She should invest in a computer, would be very helpful to post notes and grades. Very helpful i got a 60 on a proposal with her help and advice i got a 81 on the final assignment. She isn't clear in her instructions in class but once you go meet her you get a better understanding of what to do. Very funny.
essay assignment is really easy. she's very clear on what she wants, so follow it and you'll get a decent grade. midterm was all lecture, but final exam was a mix of lecture and text. her notes are good, but make sure you study the text for the final. managed to get a B w/o buying it. easy class, but marks hard.
She manages to make an extremely boring course interesting. assignments are fun but shes a hard marker and very specific on what she wants. with that being said she does explain what shes looking for in class over and over and if you go see her she will clarify anything and help you out. u have to go 2 class since she doesnt post notes on bb.
Great prof., her lectures are interesting and fun. She is not easy but very fair and helpful in terms of making sure her students understand the material. Great with emails and help on assignments. Don't miss the lectures!
Loved her class!! You have to attend all her lectures but other then that she was so entertaining and she made class so enjoyable!! One of my favourites by far
Terrific teacher – brilliant, dedicated to students, funny. You must attend lectures and read the book; missing class is simply not an option. She makes the subject matter as clear and as interesting as possible. She's a great resource to students even outside of class time – regularly replied to late night emails within 30 minutes. Amazing.
Great professor! Makes the course content easily understandable. You have to go to all the lectures. Easy assignments.
The class is boring. But, like anyone will say, she tries to present it in a manner that makes it more interesting. But the content is what it is - but that's not her fault. She's very approachable, responds to emails quickly, and is very forgiving. She doesnt post her lectures on BB, probably because otherwise no one would come to class.
Great and funny professor. She is able to make a harder course easy. Very friendly and not intimating to talk to. The only thing is her TAs mark hard. And her clip art in her lecture notes has got to go :P
Overall I expected this class to be pretty boring as its all the process and ethics of statistics. You need to attend the class as she does not post anything on Blackboard and even most of the marks. She is an extremely hard marker and the exams are all 65 question multiple choice which I'm horrible at but some people find that easier than essays.
Amazing professor! The research courses tend to be boring for the most part, however, her sense of humour and ability to break down the material into simple concepts makes the class a pleasure to attend! You do need to attend all the classes because she does not post the material online, which I personally think is a good idea.
She's one of my favourite professors. Go to every lecture, and keep up with readings and you should do fine. Midterm and Final are tricky, however so many other ways to bring up your mark!!!!!
very engaging, loves to talk about alcohol, and sex. i actually went to almost all her lectures very clear way of teaching
WHAT A BLESSING IT WAS TO HAVE HER AS A PROFESSOR. She thoroughly explains every concept and idea she introduces. She focuses on the important main points. She makes potentially boring lectures, fun! The textbook was not necessary as I noticed that the tests focuses a lot on lecture material. Grading scheme is fair. Highly recommended prof.
not interesting at all
Definitely a fair grader and keeps the lecture entertaining! Make sure u attend and take notes- she's cool about laptopsdevices because slides aren't posted, she makes boring material hilarious with innuendos and informal chat. Very engaging & super understanding about when i forgot a portion of my assignment at home the day of. GOOD PROF! :)
Class was ok. She does try and add humor..
Loved this prof!
Professor Albanese is simply amazing and perhaps the best professor at Ryerson University. She is someone who truly cares about her students and will do anything to help them out. Her door is always open and she is always willing to discuss assignmentsgrades. She is so supportive and really wants her students to succeed!! She is so inspirational!
Awesome professor - ssh301 is aborning course however this prof made it very fun. She wants her students to do well in the course and truly cares. Very understanding! So blessed to have her as a professor
Taking the Sociology of Childhood (SOC 504) with Patrizia really shows her passion for teaching. The workload was fair and if you show up, take notes, and pay attention, it will be an easy A. Her instructions for the essay assignments was crystal clear and it was honestly such a fun assignment. She's a baefessor who really wants everyone to succeed
She's a really nice professor and does try to make the dry material more interesting. I found her TAs to be overly critical but that is not a reflection on her. She's very helpful and is always trying to make sure all of her student succeed.
She's too sweet! The material is incredibly dry but she tries to make her lectures as funny and light as possible. Love her!
She is the kind of prof you can tell cares about her students. She wants you to do well and will work with you to make that happen! you can always find her before class talking to a group of students either about projects or life in general. She deliver dry material in a funny manner. If you are required to take SSH 301, try to get this prof!
She has a terrific attitude and is a good TEACHer who will help you when you ask. She also is extremely upbeat but goodness gracious, if you're taking this as an elective with a hope of getting a good grade, good luck. She takes off the most ridiculous marks and is extremely insensitive with it. Hardest marker I've ever encountered. Ever.
Funny, obviously experienced in the field, has great insight. Patrizia genuinely cares and wants her students to succeed, without being afraid of actually challenging them. I took a lot away from this course and continue to draw on my knowledge from it 2 years later.
Her assignments are fine. They are very fair. The only complaint that I have is how she tests people. Her M/C is the most horrible M/C I have taken in the 4 years of my university experience. She does not teach you on your understanding of the course. She likes to play a lot of tricks. Instead of taking 1 minute for a m/c question you need 10.
She makes me want to wake up for an 8am required class. Amazing
I had SSH 301 with her and I thought the course was going to be difficult. However, she is the best prof I've had thus far at Ryerson University. Although, the course project is marked hard, it is fair. She will help you fix it and achieve a good grade. The textbook is not needed and attend lecture!! Overall, good course and super amazing prof!!
Had this class at 8 a.m. and Patrizia was able to keep everyone engaged and laughing despite how dry and boring the material was. She is a great professor, very helpful if you go to her office hours.
Her lectures are not posted, so definitely go to class! Just memorize her lectures (which aren't long at all) and the textbook (bolded terms) and you should be fine!
She really understands her students and genuinely tries to help them succeed. She knows its a mandatory class and that the content is boring so she makes it as painless as possible
Patrizia is the best professor I've taken at Ryerson thus far. She is very funny and also very intelligent on the material she is teaching. She is very helpful and easy to get in contact with, providing great feedback on the assignments. A must take professor.
She's absolutely fantastic, so funny and clear on what she wants. Just do what she says (pay attention to details) and you'll be fine. She's just very picky on things like spelling for her exams (ie you need to know how to spell all of the obscure words she emphasizes) All in all, for a typically boring SSH class, she made it incredibly worthwhile.
Really great prof! She makes things as interesting as possible and relates well to her students. She genuinely wants to see her students succeed, so go for extra help if you need it! She marks fairly, so you'll get a good grade if you put in a bit of effort.
She's a good prof. Sometimes she rambles a tiny bit, but she's funny and she's super caring. Good at her job, and doesn't care about annoying things like notes etc, if you have an actual issue - super understanding. Her feedback is to the point, and as long as you show up and do minimum studying you'll do fine. I loved her.
AMAZING PROFESSOR IF I CAN HAVE HER FOR EVERY COURSE ID LOVE IT, the most caring and interactive prof ever, assignments and exams were easy as long as you followed instructions and did work accordingly.
The best professor I've ever had at Ryerson. She genuinely wants her students to succeed and takes every step to ensure that goal. Definitely have to work for the A in this class, but it is attainable. She's so sweet, caring, and funny. Just study the slides for exams and you'll do great. Love her. Don't pass up this opportunity.
She is without a doubt one of my favourite professors at Ryerson. The course content was explained clearly and she encouraged students to reach out to her if they needed assistance. Attendance is mandatory because the content is not posted online and the majority of the information isn't in the textbook. I didn't read the text and I got an A.
She was like a friend, rlly easy to talk to and ask for help. She is SO funny and easygoing, and made the content as fun as possible. Gives you a lot of opportunities to get good marks, little assignments. Her final exam and essay were WAY easier than the midterm. You do need to attend class tho, and no ppts, notes not posted online. released early
Amazing professor. Her lectures were very entertaining, and the assignments were super easy. Just go to class, get her to look over your assignment and read some parts of the textbook before the exams and you'll be fine!
