she loves to hear herself talk. She tends to switch around the question you ask so that she can answer it. A lot of her law facts aren't correct.

Not helpful at all, locks students out because they're late, sarcastic to students.
She does wander off topic alot but I found her class to be interesting and simple.
yes she does tend to wander off topic but she is more then fair when it comes to grading. I got an A in two of her classes. And about getting law facts wrong...shes doesnt. who are you going to believe. a student or a lawyer of 20 years!
This teacher will email all classmates ten minutes before class actually begins to let you know she isn't showing up that day. Also, if there's an answer in the book and she disagrees with it on your test, count on it being wrong. She blows, dude.
Althouhg she can be fairly nasty at times, she is still a great teacher. She is very informative and lets you use all your note and book on the test. If you pay attention youll get an A.
she is easy and gives open book test and way cool
Fairly easy course if you take good notes and read. Open book and notes...make sure to take the online exams, they are all on exams. She tends to be very moody, some days good and some bad. Easy B.

Great teacher, very interesting class, I was never bored. Uses great examples to relate info. Tests are easy with good notes and book. Take her night class and she lets you out early all the time.
Her lectures kept you very interested, but I learned the hard way that on exams if you go by what's in the textbook it'll be marked wrong! just a heads-up...make sure you answer based on her personal views and not the book.
It's not what the book says, it's what she says. Always late or absent.
interesting lectures, you'll learn alot of valuable info. take good notes and do the online quizzes. the tests are all open note and open book (but they are long and not totally easy) nice teacher but docks alot of points for late/missed classes!!
Has open note and book tests, but they take whole class period. Takes lots of points off for late assingments and for attendance. Pay attention in class, notes are important. Not very pleasant and will not go out of her way to help you.
Will not help you, totally useless, and since so many bad feedback, she'll probably start giving open-book tests. But what good will it do? The book is always wrong, and her fat butt is right.
she has to be the hardest teacher from saddleback. Shes fat, short tempered, and likes chole. She talks to u like ur a lawyer and doesnt know what shes talking about. Her back goes out every 10 min and shes always tired. Take her if u like to get a B
Nice try! Boen just changed her name to Goldberg, so beware... This is probably because her reputation affiliated with the name, Boen, is crushed forever. She's terrible!
very hard teacher. talks to you like you know everything and like shes a lawyer.
I learn so much each class and there is almost 0 work.
Took her for summer school. She is a phenomenal speaker and is really enthusiastic about her lectures. As much as I dreaded this class, she made it very interesting. I will say that I put way to many hours into the class and only received a C. She als
Check this professor out by her old last name, Boen. I thought I was the only person who realized how rude, and unhelpful this pig is. She's late, lazy, hostile, and things that are in the book are not correct on the tests! Unbelievable...

I enjoyed this teacher. She obviously loves law, and is very knowledgable. It was very refeshing to have a teacher who knows her subject well enough to exlain in simple terms any topic you find confusing during lectures. We did have many quizzes though, & it was probably my most difficult class.
DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. She is always late. its either her way or the highway. if you make a comment, not matter what, you are always wrong and she will tell you and rub it on
The class is just "the nature of the beast". It is a law class and she is a lawer. Law is complicated to learn. By nature, Lawers are evil. harsh combo to start with. In fareness she dose try and wants to do well. I learned a ton, however it was the hardest class I have taken so far.

Anyone with a happy face here must smoke good dope, because she is terrible!
i wonder when they will fire her..
She filled in for my prof one day. She is freaking NUTS! DONT TAKE HER! She just recites the book. Screamed at some kid for going to the bathroom. Take Joe Quinby instead. He is awesome and still practices law so has much better insight.
not very good
Very bad teacher! Was never helpful. Frequently last for class, and let’s class out early. Appears to like to belittle her students, especially the male students!
Had her and the other professor for bus law. She is peanuts compared to the other. How do I get a low C in her class and get a high A in the other? I would have had a 4.0, but I took her class :( Get out while you can.
Her tests aren't that difficult, but she definitely is. She takes attendence every class and is rude and unhelpful. Take with caution.
Needs to let go of her conrol complex. If you have to pee then you have to pee- dont say that the student cant come back once they leave the room. Found the class interesting but she is a little too OCD- not as bad as everyone plays her to be- but I wouldnt take her again- I was one of the better students and she gave me a C what the eff?
Now that I've graduated, she's the only C on my transcripts. Unbelievably, this class should be the easiest at Saddleback, but for some reason, she makes it more difficult than what it should be. I've got nearly straight A's but got one of the best grades in her class: a lousy "C"; and a low one at that! Avoid her. The other prof. is far better!
Her lectures were just a waste of time. The tests covered only the material she thought she covered in class. When there were tests on chapters in the material the questions were about information not covered in class or in the chapters we were being tested on. Take a look at her California State Bar record, I wish I would have before I signed up.
Her lectures were just a waste of time. When there were tests on chapters in the material the questions were about information not covered in class or in the chapters we were being tested on. Take a look at her California State Bar record, I wish I would have before I signed up. Under her name Patrizia Boen.
I LOVED this teacher. I didn't understand a lot of the info, because it was the "unfailiar" but she made a lot of really good points and had a good view about certain things. Neat lady, especially if you get on her good side. Just show up to class and you have her on your side. No tests except a midterm and final. (and they're open book!)
wow, doesnt suprise me looking at everyone elses comments. i love law, she killed it for me, terrible teacher, random material, very unorganized. i was on her goodside, but i seriously felt bad at the people she yelled at. im being serious. terrible teacher, and not a very nice person either. kinda screwed both ways there.

worst class
I highly recommend not taking this class with this professor, first of all she is unclear on the materials, always postponds the test dates, and she teaches by telling stories, veryg sad. So if you dont wanna arrive at a point where you have to drop the course after taking it for a whole semester, please be smart and dont take it with her.
i had same feelings as previous post. Plus she seems like always in a bad mood when you try to ask her question. her test are very hard, unclear, tricky, don't expect get good grade on first test. be aware she change her mind every second.. which drives people.....
Awful... Don't take her....
wow. i haven't had many bad teachers at saddleback but patricia is definitely one of them. hard tests. she doesn't explain things. take the other professor instead. (he's highly recommended from others who took him). i should have :(
i thought this class was pretty easy because for quizes we have open notes, tests we have open book and notes. just read the chapters before hand, before you show up for lectures and you will be fine. ;D
the worst teacher I ever had...and ive been to seven different colleges! If you think having a surprise quiz secretly emailed to you is exciting...then maybe it's for you. But just because I didn't happen to come across a secret email that she sent resulted in the first "F" I ever got. And I think she enjoyed every second of it.
I was erally excited about this class until the candy bar fiasco. I work and am not terribly computer literate. but I did manage to get onto the site. I went to where the course assignments were listed. none were listed. I recieved an F for tha assignment. My acedenic performance alone curruetly gives me a 96% With the F candybarI have an 82%
This is my first C ever! I'd strongly recommend that no one take her, she's a control freak (have to ask to use the bathroom, wtf?!?), gave us our midterm 3 weeks late, and didn't even go over the final the week before because she had a Christmas party to attend! This chick is nuts.
taught myself everything
I thought this class would be easy because of open book open note tests. it was far from easy. all she knows how to do i be a lawyer not a teacher.
Took class w/immature slackers who posted above; Unfair & inaccurate. Easy A if you read B4 tests & do EZ homewk; Tests open note. Material on Blackboard. Learned a lot espec. divorce & credit reports; Fun class; Practical info. Fast reply to emails; Generous extra pts 4 whole class; Easy grader; MBF earned high C & got an A 4 perfect attend.
I loved this class. She gave dozens of practice questions and used them on tests. Outlines for most lectures. fair and EZ grader
I thought this class was great. I learned so much, she is hard at times but just do the work and dont be an idiot about things. very smart person, enjoyed her class
Professor Goldberg is a nice person. Open notes and book. 30 points extra credit. Care about students. Highly recommended.
So easy. This class fills you GE requirement and takes absolutely no time outside of class. You must show up for every class but it's only once a week. Open notes tests. Don't buy the book she hands out packets each class. She may seem sweet and gullible but she won't take BS excuses so don't try.
I loved this class and I learned a lot...I never missed cuz it was so interesting. She always answered my email fast
Prof. Goldberg is a wonderful instructor. Doesnt put up with nonsense, and looks to ensure that her students are succeeding and understanding the subjects. The exams are open book/notes and her lectures are thorough. Go to class, show an effort and you will do fine! Highly recommended!
first i had her for the fall. took some notes, didnt read at all. failed my first test and quiz ever in college so i dropped with W. for spring, i retook it, did all my readings, took really good notes, recorded her lectures. ended up with an A!! MAKE SURE u take ur time and READ. that's al u need to do. her letures are quite interesting though.
before taking her class1-take a look at Cal State bar records.Search Under Boen(her previuos last name)2-read all the student's rating. They are right. She is NUTS! She gets upset over a simple question. The tests are not from book. She is extremely moody.Even though the subject is not really hard, she makes it hard for you. Do NOT TAKE HER!
Dr. Goldberg has a teaching style that attracts your attention. Her clarity and animation really keeps you in tune to the subject matter. If you like to goof around, this is the wrong class. If you want to learn, then look no further. Lets you know up front what her expectations are of a student. Firm, but fair. Overall, a great class to take.
If you show her that you truly work your best for her class, she will give you the grade you deserve. I took her hybrid 4-weeks class and I'm glad I took it. She is fun.
She is really not that bad. Yes the class is challenging but business law is supposed to be a challenging subject. Just read the book and follow her directions and you will get no lower than a B.
I really enjoy her as a teacher, her lectures are very interesting and she is a very intelligent woman with a lot of experience. It's not a class that you can just cruise through but if you do your terms, read, and take good notes you'll be fine. everything is open material.
she is really smart but way to hard
Fair but hard class. Make sure to go over all of the practice tests she offers. TAKE GOOD NOTES!
Per. Law class was easy super interesting and really fun. Goldberg is a very confident and intellgent woman. She says everything in her lectures that you need to know for the test. The tests are all open book and open note, midterm and final also! Only 3 homework assignments all of them ridiculously simple. Nice lady. Very easy to learn.
Terrible Teacher. She goes off on tangents and personal stories and she won't cover all the material leaving it completely up to you. She'll post podcasts hours before her next class which makes it impossible to be prepaired. If you have to take this class READ THE BOOK. It's the only way you'll learn anything.
She is horrible at teaching. Never knew what she was suppost to lecture on, the class had to correct her all the time. Was rude when you asked questions. Her grading didn't make since to me. Print everything out, which is a waste, take notes, and bring the book. I got a A in the class out of nowhere. Take the teacher at IVC instead.
Worst teacher I had at saddleback. Class was kinda interesting but she never returns homework or tests, she goes on tangents and never gets anything done.
Prof Goldberg left much to be desired from the aspect of her teaching! She should teach elementary school, no reason to treat adults like first graders! She is an absolute control freak!tough to listen to those stories that she repeats because she forgets she told them.
Just go to her class because her tests are based on the lectures. Some info in the book, but to be honest I did well without really reading it. Failed without effort, but Passed with A+ next sem.!! Really straight-forward teaching, doesn't believe in memorization which is why her hmwk, quizzes, tests and final exam are open book & notes.
Was looking forward to law class; this ruined it for me. She is "hard" in that she is unpredictable in following her syllabus, her attendance, her grading, lesson plans, etc. Often answered questions with questions or became frustrated and rude if she couldn't understand. She either needs to learn how to be patient like a real teacher or get out.
Decent teacher, but try to take her in the summer so you dont have as many meetings. She can be very condescending when you ask questions. Her tests are no suprises, what she talks about in class is on them. I think she makes each test different for every class. I never even bought the book but barely passed. She can be compassionate.
Prof Goldberg was great. She was really intense sometimes but pretty down to earth mostly. I became good friends with her and she taught me a lot. Very confident old lady, dont get in her way. Respect her and take notes and you will get an easy A
Quirky. Gets way off topic for huge segments of time and has annoying pop quizzes and has homework she doesn't say when she collects (but she will, oh she will). Major saving grace? Open book, open note tests. Let me say that again. Open book. Open note. You'd have to try hard to do bad under those conditions. Take her, but only because of that.
I took Mrs. Goldberg Fall semester 2009 (the 8 week course) with an "A" and I must say that it is hard to fail her class. She lets you know what she expects and what's expected from you. Her 8 week courses are a hybrid of class and online. I really was happy at this because it gave you the flexibility of time, tests and reading assignments.
Shes interesting and keeps your attention.I had her for personal law and I learned so much. she wants to help and I thought she was a great teacher. doesnt make you buy a $100 textbook which was helpful. I would take her again
Worst teacher i ever had at Saddleback. She is so unorganized and goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with anything but herself. She is very rude if you ask questions and don't understand her. DON'T TAKE HER.
I learned so much from Prof. Goldberg's class. Every lecture was interesting and filled with useful facts and information. Furthermore, she explained her material very well. Advice: go to class, take notes and you will pass. I got an A no problem. She cares about her students, but at the same time she does not enable slackers. Good teacher.
She goes out of her way to be rude to students that are just trying to learn. Must type HW and she may or may not collect it and wont tell you when. Pop quizes and tests are open book/note but tricky questions, if you miss it or get a 59% its a 0, 3 tests, 75% of your grade! If you can, avoid her
Extremely nice and actually made the class fun. Subject matter is hard, but she offers tons of extra credit. Very little HW, and tests and quizzes are open book and note. Very unorganized, and ends up dropping entire sections. Will do everything to help and clarify any questions and bumps up your grade, I got an 88 but she gave me an A.
share a lot of her great experience, know a lot of staff. though open book and note, don't expect you get an A without coming to class. Tests are not easy but if you don't miss extra credits, you don't have to work so hard to get A. with ex cre i feel reladed during my final.
Very large and tedious Hw assignments, and does not collect most of them. Ones collected weren't relevant with exams. Class was forced to take 3 Exams(75% of our grade)with 2 quizzes as well in the last 3 weeks of class. Lectures cover little material on the material, and consist mostly of her lawyer experiences. 3hrs of BS, and 1hr of learning.
If I had to describe Goldberg in three words they would be delusional, opinionated, and cocky. If you feel like paying to know this woman's life story, then this is the right professor for you! Obviously there's nothing better than learning law from someone who's been disbarred, look her up =]
She's a great teacher who is full of knowledge. She's kind of anal about organization but if you do your hw and read, the tests are open book/notes. She's hilarious & goes off on tangents & most of the time talks so much she ends up taking a couple chapters off a test. You'll learn a lot in this class.
She?s extremely disrespectful!! I don?t know how she?s even allowed to teach with her rude attitude and poor teaching skills. Avoid her!!
JUST DO THE TERMINOLOGY ASSIGNNTS AND YOU'LL GET AN "A". EXAMS ARE OPEN BOOK/NOTES...
just do the terminology assigments read the book and you'll get an "A" EXAMS ARE OPEN BOOK/NOTES
This professor is so rude, and thinks she knows everything. Many time she ridicules her student's by making smart remarks. I hated this class waste of time, PAPER,INK. She makes you print out 1000+ pages and she didn't collect none. Her class is hard eventhough is open book/notes the questions she makes up are so confusing.Worst teacher I've taken.
Loved this class! Stay on top of Terminology assignments and PRINT THEM! You get a zero if you turn in hand-written or fail to turn in term notes. Generous with grades, very responsive to questions, good text book. I've always been interested in law but she really inspired me! Don't be late, pay attention and do the reading. You'll do very well!
Prof Goldberg was very helpful and passionate about what she taught as well as being a good teacher. She is very specific, so follow her plan and you can do well.
She is a all around terrible teacher. Will give repeat lectures because she forgets which class she has given a lecture to. This class is 75% opinion based and 25% factual. If you really want to learn, invest in the book not the teacher. She just likes to hear the sound of her own voice.
OMG! The rudest instructor I have ever dealt with. She makes students feel stupid. I will not take any more classes with her.
Dr. Goldberg is an exceptional teacher. She is fascinating to listen to and she is FAIR. The class is labor intensive, so be prepared to work. This was an excellent class.
I received a good grade, so this isn't sour grapes. The computer graded mid-term and final was the only feedback all term. Many weekly assignments turned in, but none graded by the teacher. Moreover, no teacher comments in the discussion boards for this online course, save for announcements about technical problems, which were frequent. Bad Class!
Great teacher! Online class has major tech problems that no one coud for see! She did all she could to teach us the lessons and you had to put in the work for sure. I am no law major but she helped*
This professor puts in minimal effort into teaching this class. Due dates change on a whim, tests are added in bulk, she even changed the dates of spring break to accommodate her own schedule. She doesn't respond to emails or answer questions posted on the discussion board. Horrible class.
Took online. Don't expect any feedback. professor waits till last minute to grade everything. had no idea what my grade was till after the semester was over. assignment requirements unclear. everything on her schedule-she changes it to make things better for her, but wont except late work. substandard class. inferior & inadequate professor
Probably the worst professor I have ever had. Just finishing the summer online course. You will have no idea what the assingments are in advance. Extremely disorganized, nothing gets graded, things get posted late. There is A LOT of work, not necessarily hard but A LOT. I would highly recommend not taking a class with her unless you have to.
Dr. Goldberg is an excellent teacher. Be prepared to work hard, but it is well worth. Her class is university level. I took her online class BUS LAW 12 during the summer and I loved it. She responded the email very fast and any concern you have with the material. If you really want to learn about Law take her class.
The worst professor I have ever taken I am a 3.80GPA graduate of CSUF, so I'm used to hard work, but I can't stand busy work. She makes a lot of assignments that are practically meaningless. Then, she is late to post them and grade them. She should be teaching 2nd graders where busy work and hand holding is the norm.
Do not take this teacher unless you have to!! I am an A student and i am used to working hard, but the amount of busy work she assigns is absurd. She won't give you feedback and does not grade anything until the very end. There's a ton of reading and quizzes are very difficult even with an open book. 18 hrs a week is underestimated. AVOID.
VERY BAD professor. Unclear. Cancels class at a moments notice. Drops you without letting you know at least one class before. LAZY. Her voice is annoying and she has no idea how to teach. Now I know why she was disbarred. She is a complete failure. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. DO NOT!
NO FLEXABILITY, I AM A STRAIGHT A STUDENT, HER ON LINE CLASS IS CONFUSSING, SHE HAS YOU READ A BUNCH OF STUFF THAT IS NOT RELEVANT TO THE CLASS. I TOOK AN ON LINE CLASS AND MISSED AN ASSIGNMENT BECAUSE HER POOR DIRECTIONS WOULD NOT LET ME TURN IN LATE, JUST FAILED THE CLASS AND QUICK GOING, WILL HAVE TO RETAKE AND GET AN A WITH OTHER TEACHER.
I took this class online. horrible teacher. she belittles in her emails and even criticized me personally with a full page rant. I got an "A", but if i hadn't needed the class, i would have dropped it. Don't settle for this teacher, not worth it.
Good teacher in my opinion. If you show up and turn in the assignments you will get an A, it's either you do them or not. She cancelled a lot of class and didn't end up getting to a lot of material that was supposed to be taught. But overall a easy class and I learned slot of important information.
I think she is actually a sweet lady and she teaches this class well. Students don't liker her because she does make this class University level. But if you do all the work, read all the chapters and follow the instructions to the letter, you will get an A. Only major problem with her is that she does not grade many things until it is too late.
From the first day, it is obvious that Professor Goldberg cares about students' education. She is extremely helpful, experienced, and knowledgeable. If you attend every class and complete all assignments, you should get an A. One tip I have for the class, which is stressed in class, is to read all handouts and directions.
TERRIBLE PROFESSOR! Very rude to students. Talks down to students Does not grade or return your work. Expects alot from you but does not do HER job. I got a A but it was not worth it. AVOID at all costs.
LOTS of material, and a lot of it isn't relevant to the class. Online quizzes and tests are relatively easy (lots of time and obviously open book). Don't expect assignments graded in a timely manner, but it seems like she grades more on completion than content. One (massive) group project, which really sucks. 12-week format; very fast-paced.
Terrible teacher. She gives tons of extra content to read/watch/listen to that does not really pertain to the class. She did not grade assignments in a timely manner. There's very little feedback from her. She's very rude and unprofessional. Take someone else. If you have to take her, try not to get on her bad side or your grade will suffer.
If you don't like to go to class and you're lazy, then this class isn't for you. She makes her expectations very clear from the first day. She teaches the class well. All of the tests are open book and open note, and most of the test questions come from the homework assignments. Because I worked hard and showed interest she raised by B to an A.
Ms Goldberg made her expectations and class guidelines clear from the beginning. She offered extra material as well as audio lessons. The class required a lot of time and even more effort, but if you read the syllabus you won't be surprised. She replied to e-mails quickly and gave feedback through discussion board posts on projects and assignments.
She's not going to give you a grade you don't earn. Lots of work, but work the effort.
Tough class, but worth the effort. Ms. Goldberg is a great teacher with a lot of knowledge.
this teacher is by far the worst I've had. Prof Goldberg is very rude to students and talks down to you. She expects alot from you but does not do her job,at all. Chaotic online environment and is hard to follow. I took her last year and I heard she left Saddleback but I saw she is back teaching online. Warning: Avoid her .
The busy work in this class is absurd plus online blackboard site is overwhelming + hard to follow. There is a ton of clutter and if you ask a question by email she responds only to basically call you an idiot because you do not speak to her standards. I wish I had known going in, this is not a pleasant or helpful teacher.
She warns at the beginning of the semester that our time commitment is 12 hrsweek. On avg I spend 6 hrs reading, 3-4 hrs on videos, and 2 hrs taking quizzesexams. AND THEN SHE ADDS A GROUP PROJECT. Completely unnecessary. Also, she is rude. Knows her law, but needs to learn about education. Interesting material, terrible personalityteacher.
Let me start off by saying, I am a good student. Okay, now that that's out of the way, I have never encountered a more irrational grader. The kind who gives you a 22% on a project you are sure you would get AT LEAST a B on in another class. Doesn't grade anything until the last week which leaves you blindsided as to what her expectations are.
She is the rudest teacher I have ever had in college. I took her class because she was the last teacher left. I should have listened to the previous comments. There are many bettereasier teachers you can take. Don't take this class if you care about your gpa.
I would run for the hills if you can. Do not take this class. I worked very hard and struggled every week to make sure I had all of the homework and all of the lecture reading done. This class will teach you a little and stress you out a lot. The teacher is condescending and rude and does not respect her students.
