She's very cute and nice. She is soft spoken but is still strict and makes sure that everything is done PERFECTLY. She doesn't let anyone slack whatsoever and isn't happy when work isn't completed or understood. She's clear enought but not super clear.

She is very helpful in explaining any confusing areas that occur in the book. She is a very comfortable teacher.
very easy teacher
Easy course as long as you don't miss any classes. Something important goes on in almost every session, whether it's a pop quiz or a new HW assignment. She's a fairly easy grader, as long you know your stuff. And if you don't know your stuff, she's almost always available in her office to give help.
Very approachable and personable. I actually enjoyed her class and I never thought I would say that about chem lab! Highly recommend taking her class.
I liked Chemistry at first, and this teacher made me lose my interest. She does not explain well, and she assumes you know everything when you don't.
She is a great person and professor! She's very approachable and is always available to help during her office hours! If chemistry is not your strongest subject,it will become your strongest subject if you take her class!!
She is one of my all time favorite teachers. She is always there to help you and tries to make herself available whenever she is needed. The sweetest woman ever and I strongly recommend her. She is the only teacher I have ever had that gives her cell # to help students whenever they have questions
She is a great teacher if you really want to learn chemistry and excel at it when you are done. The class is very easy and understandable. Little tip, study really hard at first, every idea builds on the last one.
If you need any help she is there. She is happy to help you. She goes over everything clearly and veryslowly so ti is easy to understand. She will go over the lab before doing it so it seems easy when you do it!
The most helpul teacher I have ever encountered (besides being a nice person). She sincerely is interested in student's success. She makes the classs dynamic, fun, and understandable. If you are afraid of taking chem, take it with her because she will help you always.
She is a great teacher. Even if you are horrible at Chem, she is always there to help you and is very nice. Make sure you attend lectures because there are a lot of quizzes but I found her class very enjoyable.
Wonderful teacher. Wonderful person.Lots of quizzes in lecture.Doesn't curve.Doesn't use scantrons!(which is better for students but harder for her)-gives partial credit. Explains in a very clear way.Her classes are always full. She tutors students that aren't even in her class!A teacher that is interested in teaching.Pay attention and do hmwrk.

She's really funny and a little sarcastic.Very understanding and caring towards her students.Gives plenty of opportunities for you to bring your grades up. Easy as long as you show up to class and do the assignments.
I was stoned everyday and still did fine.
Very clear, very organized, tests aren't too bad, and there are lots of opportunities to do well. She's really sarcastic (which I thought was great/funny), and is alllllways ready to help her students. I just think she is AWESOME
never scored higher than 72% on a test. more like average 60s. passed with a "C". do your homework. study, and she'll acknowledge your efforts. Great teacher, and person. shes there to help you. great times in class. she'll crack some jokes at the students so be careful you dont say anything dumb
she's really sweet and always willing to help, teachs material in clear well organized way, she gives too much homework but has really easy tests, read the chapters and go to her office for help and you'll do fine.
She is very helpful and clear. If you need extra help she will be there for you. She is very nice and fun when it is apporpiate. I highly recommend her...

Had my rating removed some how! She is evil. Watch out. IF you have problems you will get no help and will be forced to drop. Does not accommodate learning problems. Does not curve. I would never taker her. IF given a choice I would rather take Chemistry from someone who does not even speak English.
She is a nice person but a very hard grader. She shows no mercy. She has a quiz before each lab and doesnt curve/lower grading scale
She is quite nice. She is truly a hard grader, and is nice to certain people, while mean to others, but otherwise from that she is a good teacher and has a nice personality.
Good professor, goes through the material very quickly though. Helps during office hours. Make sure you don't miss a day because you will find yourself behind. Gives quizzes for every chapter and assigns lots of homework at 5 points each.
Patti does not seem to care about students learning. Reluctant to help and makes you feel stupid. Trys to weed people out. She makes no allowances or considerations - she does not want to be bothered. No sense of humor. Makes subject matter duller than it really is. You will learn, but take another if you can. I got an A, but all on my own. Hard.
Good teacher. Go to class and do the homework and you will pass. If you go for help, you better come with questions though, because she will not just reteach the lesson just for fun. We had people from other classes sitting in on the lecture, I think that says a lot about her comparison to other teachers...
You need to take the good with the bad. The material is complex and abundant. She absolutely teaches all of it in the best way possible. By far, the best Chem teacher yet. Learning is not supposed to be a piece of cake, so step up and get with it. Those who complain are the people that don't speak up.
Egads!
Class is hard, esp. if you have no idea whats going on in lecture. She is willing to help you but its still hard to understand. Take intro to chem before you get in this class.
Brandon is a thorough and intelligent professional. That said, her lectures are very dry and draw directly from the text. She adds very little of her own explanations so that class is often redundant/boring. Main complaint is that she makes few considerations for working students (office hours, scheduling, last-minute announcements, etc.).
This was by far the hardest class I have ever had. I have taken a lot of pre med classes and got an A in all of them except this class. This definitely not an easy class, so be prepared to study at least a couple hours a day. Prof. Brandon does go out of her way to be fair, and do see her at office hours it will help.
Going into Chem 115 you expect it to be somewhat difficult and it is. Professor Brandon is pretty good in teaching the material and reviewing it. Her quizzes are moderately difficult, you will need to study for them. Her test are hard, for some reason she throws major curveballs at you. Just study. Period.
Lectures are clear but deceiving. Seem to feel good when leaving class but lost on test. This could be due to only one class a week! Definitely need to study a lot to be able to get through this class. Overall good teacher, just need to know you will have to study independently to do well on tests. Homework is worth 8% of overall grade.
This is a really hard class, but it is not her fault. The material is difficult, but she does a good job explaining it. She says there are pop quizzes for every chapter but she usually tells you when they are. Tests are hard and need to be studied for. She did give a lot of extra credit (over 40 points) because people were struggling!
Professor Brandon is a very nice lady, but this class is extremely hard b/c 1.chemistry is a difficult subject to learn AND teach and 2. her lectures are not very clear. she gives ec, quizzes, and hw so that your grade is not all based on the exams. the key to succeeding is IGNORE the book, just review the lecture notes b/c she simplifies a ton!
Love this professor. She is extremely nice and very clear. Always willing to help. Her lab tests are pretty easy all info covered in the labs. I learned most from her since my lecture teacher wasn't very good.I'm taking her next semester for 115 Lecture.
She is a nice lady and I know she wants her students to learn but she just doesn't "put out." However she is the most human compared to other chem professors at big P. If you want an A in this class you will have to do a lot of reading and studying. If you work, I suggest you devote time for just chemistry because you can easily get lost.
Professor Brandon is a very nice person. Do your homework and quizzes and test should be fairly easy. She really knows the material and does very good job at teaching it. Her notes are organized and lectures are crystal clear. Easy A if you show up in class and pay attention. Very fair in grading, sometime give extra credit. Highly recomemded!

Overall, she is a very nice person & is always willing to help her students out. She tends to fly through the material at a very fast pace though. She gives out homework & quizzes for every chapter & ec once in a while. So as long as you do your homework & study hard this class will be pretty easy for you.
Prof Brandon is a really good professor. She gives out "pre-quizes" before every quiz, so you'll know what to expect. Her tests are fairly hard but if you study the material and show up to class everyday you should do fairly decent. She has this odd sense of humour, which I find very cute. Oh...and did I mention she is a total babe!!!
Take it with her! Our chem department for the 110/115 series is pretty bad, but you'll learn the material with as little stress as possible with Brandon. She's clear, open to questions, and pulls no punches on her exams. Sam Abbas is your next best bet.
She is totally hot!!!
This teacher is not capable of writing multiple choice questions. They were often confusing but the write out questions were the best. Her lectures were clear but unfortunately she is rather boring to listen to for hours on end.
Brandon is a fair professor. She's really disorganized, but will expect you not top be. Her exams are really hard and she often makes mistakes (which she'll give you credit for, if you catch them). Overall, I'd say she's at least second to Sam Abbas. She knows her stuff. BTW, unless you're a D&D dork living in your mom's basement, she's not hot.
I had her for Fall 09. Fun class but tons of studying. I thought her exams were fairly easy; the amount of time you put in studying equate to the score you get. It was only hard if I didn't study. Good organized notes and good teaching qualities. Awesome class but sometimes it gets really quiet that I can hear myself think. Solid class, take it :)
Watch out for exploding beakers & air valves :) haha jk. Sweet sweet lady. Funny too. She is truly a remarkable person and professor. It makes me smile seeing her every day and I always did like it when she drew smiley faces on my paper, even if it's completely wrong :) besides, it does make everything all better.
I remember taking patti's class a few semesters ago (both 110 and 115), really nice and very approachable. She makes the material "noob" friendly and is always there to give extra help along the way. She gives many announced quizes to supplement your class grade, because her tests are fairly difficult. I must say, she is also very attractive for a 40 something year old. Too bad I was too shy to do anything about it :(
She keeps your tests!!If you want to see your test and your grade you have to go to her office hours and she wont let you have it.What the hell is that? She calls it "visiting" your test in her office.
she is a very nice teacher. this class is very easy. I never got below 90.she is very helpful, though sometimes my accent will torment her. =) She will not let international student use dictionary during exam, but in that way u remember those freaking vocabulary. so chose her class =)
Do not take the class with her. she can not teach chemistry without her notes.
she made everyone confused. she does not help you if you are lost. her lectures are short and she likes to get rid of the meetings fast.
Although the class was difficult, for the most part I think it was pretty fair. If you do all of the homework and study you shouldn't have a problem on the tests. The book is your best friend in this class. But you do have to put in a lot of time outside of class to understand the material. Gives clear concise notes that are really helpful
better know ALL your chem stuff right off the bat! this lady touches on a sbjt and moves on b4 you're able to write it down! then tests you on stuff she has yet to even attempted to touch on. she doesnt teach the course she's clearly just a "test-hander-outer".. takin chem online would be better than takin this lady's class...if it were an option.
She doesn't cover the textbook well. Her notes are not organized. I dont like how she put 38 MPC questions for the final.it affects your grades a lot. even thou I have an A in her class, I still dont RECOMMEND her. u should take Zabdyr
her lecture class starts out very slow and is mostly review, but picks up speed fast. gotta study a LOT if you wanna pass. hw is not mandatory. quizzes (about 10 through the semester). major criticisms: tests are too long to finish in the time allotted, and the final is 38 mult. choice questions (worth 150 pts).
gives small lecture to get everyone up to speed before the lab. tests i think were fair in the second half of the semester (first half was difficult). make sure you study all the lab calculations. calculations on her tests are pretty much identical to those found in the labs. fair grading on the labs though (use sig figs properly)
She is great. Just attend lecture. Test is 100 percent similar to lecture. Keep up with the class, and dont be lazy. Easy A if you put some effort. Final is a little difficult so make sure you have an A prior to taking it.
Lectures are very dull because she writes everything on the board, but she uses lots of examples and explains well. My advice is to read the section before class so you don't get lost or zone out. Gives practice quizzes so you know what to expect. Tests are fairly difficult, but come from questions in lecture so take good notes.
The labs were pretty much either super easy, or required a lot of calculations. Make sure you know what is going on conceptually or you'll probably be lost on the post lab. She explains the labs quickly & gives you the equations for calculations. She is helpful if she sees you've made an effort. Test q's all come from lab reports.
A very nice, helpful professor. Take notes in lecture as the exams will be based on problems done in class and, to a lesser extent, homework from the book. Some of her questions are tricky, but as I said, she'll have done them in class, so you need only have been there. Very approachable. Seems eager to help her students.
Brandon was an amazing teacher for Chem 115! Her class was indeed difficult… but I walked away slapping myself. Had I tried just a little bit harder, I should've been able to easily get an A in her Class. She's a quick grader and is willing to help out her students. Her LAB was about as easy as it gets for Chem115. She's the best pick for Chem115.
Most likely the worst teacher I have ever had. At the end of the class, the average was about 60%. That means that over half of the class failed. The average class scores on her tests were 62%, 60%, and 53%. Her tests covered things she did not go over in class. She offers no extra credit and does not curve anything. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.
I took her class hoping she was going to be as helpful and clear as people had previously said on here. I disagree w/ the majority of people on here. I think she was very difficult, bad at clearing up questions and moves through lessons too quickly. I would not recommend this class for anyone who is just trying to satisfy the science requirement.
Really confusing. Seems annoyed when you ask her questions. Runs through the lecture. Doesn't hand back exams. Homework is done online. Don't recommend.
The class is a lot of work unless you understand everything the 1st time in lecture. Lecture is more important than the text, & I disagree w/ people saying she isn't helpful. The class is a reasonable amount of work but attention to detail & being on time are both crucial. I think she is a great prof. but the class should be curved.
Difficult class, would not recommend unless there aren't other options.
Probably toughest class I have taken, but chemistry itself is a tough course. Brandon always answer my questions and provided outside time when I needed help. I thought she was intimidating at first but she mellows out and very easy to approach. You have to do a lot of outside studying for good grade. Class was fair. Online homework and quizzes
She was a very condescending lady. I felt I could not come to her with my questions. I felt like I was always bothering her. Her tests can be kind of tricky and she is a pretty harsh grader. She refused to curve or really help you out in any way. She does not give back tests and labs for weeks and you don't know where you are in the course .
AVOID HER! PALOMAR NEEDS WAY BETTER CHEM PROFESSORS!!! I completely failed her class. The exams were nightmares, and NOTHING like her lecture notes. Retook this class at CSUSM after I transferred and received a 93% in the class overall. This has been the worst college course I have ever taken.
Being head of the Chem department, she definitely thinks she's better than having to teach Chem 110 to new chem students. Very condescending when answering questions in class, more than 1/2 the class could not finish her first exam on time. Only if you are very knowledgeable in chem already would i recommend taking this class with her
I took chemistry before so this was like an in-depth review. I understood most of the material and anytime you don't, she has office hours and making use of them definitely helps. I thought the tests were easy and she's very nice when you approach her and show that you care.
Professor Brandon seems bothered when every you ask for help. She ends up confusing you more than assisting you. She shows no sympathy. The average tests scores in the class where less than 60%. I think it's just the way the test is written that makes it hard. In all she will be a great fit for you if you don't mind being dumbed down. Take another.
Took her for both lab and lecture in the same year. Her tests are hard and you have to check your timing or you will not finish. Most of the tests averages were below a 60%. Just study her lectures and redo problems from both lecture and homework. She gives loads of partial credit on her exams and is very approachable at office times and in class.
Unless you are already somehow a chemist, but need to go back to school for credit for a chem 110 class, then you will do poorly. She'll slightly mention something in lecture then 4 weeks later when you have an exam, you'll see it again for only the second time. Her exams are ridiculous. We actually had people get up and walk out.
Let me start off by saying I don't ever bash professors or ever feel the need to. . All I want to do is warn innocent people from taking the worse prof. I've ever taken. I took chem 100 to prep myself for this(110) & it didn't do much good. This teacher genuinely gets bothered if you ask for help& tests are too hard (avg 55-60's%). JUST AVOID HER.
Can you earn an A yes but earn is the key. One must study & review all notes from lecture & do the online homework well before it is due to remain on top of the workload. Prof. Brandon has no sugar but is a real teacher, she has office hours which I truly believe is the location to ask questions/clarity. She answers her cell phone too.
This professor knows her stuff, and teaches material thoroughly in class. Uses Sappling. She brings up material on tests that was only briefly discussed, and makes her test EXTREMELY long (you won't finish unless you move very quickly). She is somewhat arrogant/snarky, so ask question during office hours, not class. I would not reccommend.
Proffered Brandon knows her stuff and if you truly want to learn she is very very helpful and fair. She also gives partial credit on tests problems thank goodness. Chemistry is hard and you have to put the time in to understand it.
Although she is pretty confusing when it comes to her instructions, if you go up to her privately and ask her for help she is great. My lecture professor was awful and she helped me understand the subject and even pass both classes. Show her you are working hard, don't make excuses, make small talk with her and she WILL help you.
Her instructions may be a little confusing at first, but overall she is a great professor. Her exams are fine if you are willing to put in the effort to study. She is always willing to help if you ask as well.
Her test are very hard, but she is helpful!
Pretty good professor overall. Straight forward class, if you study lecture notes for exams and do the sapling homework you can get an A. Multiple Choice portion on exams are slightly tricky, so be very careful when choosing answers. Not overly difficult, but a good challenge.
Chem 110 Lab: Much easier than lecture class. Show up, do the labs correctly and get an A on them. Study labs and worksheets for lab exams and you'll do fine. Other than prelab, there is no work outside of class.
I am in her lab as of now and I should finish with a high C or low B. This woman does not teach. She hands out worksheets and when you ask her questions, she seems annoyed. She does not work with our lecture instructor and shows no passion.
this teacher I will not take again unless it's an emergency. When people asked for help, she seemed annoyed. At times she would be nice but gave me mixed vibes. She gives pop quizzes and the tests are alot of work. her tests were more of actually doing the work that multiple choice and you ran out time. She will not wait !!!
She's a great teacher. At first, it's hard to tell but she really cares about her students. She wants them to learn the material and pass. She is always accessible, she makes connections with her students, and she is clear in her lectures. Would absolutely take her again.
On almost every test and quiz, our class average was below a 50%. She wastes times on old concepts instead of spending the class teaching the new material. Don't take her class unless you already know chemistry and don't need to be taught. She also doesn't like to help you after class by explaining.
Dont take her class unless she's you're only choice. Her lectures consisted of her walking up to the board and doing random questions/examples without explaining them effectively. Her lab 'quizzes' were extremely difficult and complex, lectures didnt help at all.
Thoroughly enjoyed this class. I took a chemistry class my junior year in HS and did well so I jumped right into this one and did just fine. She lectured, we had online homework, then an in-class test. Tough but more than fair. I learn well by lecture and she did a great job. Took the lab too and I recommend taking her for both lecture and lab.
This is a hard class. Not because of her, but because of the content. If you can learn from lectures and homework and truly want to try. You will be fine with her. Wanna get babied through it? find someone else.
I really enjoyed having her as my lab teacher. I feel bad as sometimes I may have been disruptive or messed up the lab procedure but she is very patient and an overall nice person. she is also really helpful when you have questions and responds in a way that forces you to think which I found enjoyable. Really great lab professor highly reccomend
She is horrible! Prior to classes transitioning to online due to COVID-19, her class was already unstructured, she was rude, and unclear. Now that the classes online it seems as if she the only professor making this more difficult than it should be. She is not merciful, don' expect her to be considerate outside of class. her test and quizzes long!!
So horrible. I was doing alright before COVID-19, but when classes were switched to online she basically disappeared. She doesnt lecture and just sends us to YouTube videos of other people teaching and tests us on material that isnt even included in those videos. I sent her an email about getting help for my grade and she just ignored it.
I was taking this class and it was fine just a hard chemistry class until it was switched to online. All she gave us was our book and random youtube videos that didn't go over the same material on quizzes. She lacks effort that should be put forward for her students. Almost seems like she has given up.
She's nice enough, but her tests were very difficult, even for a science major like me. Our class got interrupted by the pandemic, and the transition to online was pretty rough. We did a lot from the OpenStaxs textbook and had to teach ourselves the material. In person, we had a lot of lectures from her.
Labs were based on just the lab manuals. If you need extra help or a better understanding I wouldn't recommend taking her class. You work with a lab partner the entire time that she assigns you but fails to explain in detail what she's looking for in each lab. Overall she wasn't a bad professor if you already have taken a chemistry class.
This woman makes you go out of your way to buy lab materials yourself if you don't have them at home. Along with that, any alternatives for use are not posted on the lab procedures. The actual labs themselves all have vague directions from her notebook and too much work. I think I spent more time on this class than any other and it's only 2 units.
I took her spring 2018. All info and examples were written on the whiteboard so if you like to like to refer back to PowerPoints DONT take her. I would be lost each class because I had no idea what topic she was talking about.
In my opinion, she's a great caring person, however, the quizzes, tests and exams were very different from what information she was teaching us.. Her lectures, knewton work, and the book seemed to teach various things differently which ended up in a lot of confusion. I understood certain sections and when I took the test they were very off in a way
While she lectures, it's always very unclear what the actual material it is that you're "learning". You are required to take your OWN notes from the textbook, which I was very difficult because I was literally teaching myself chemistry. Quizzes/tests are EXTREMELY difficult - nothing like her lectures. I'm good at chem, but this class SUCKED
Hardest class I have taken in college. Always been a straight A student (occasionally B's here and there) however I've never been so close to failing. Scored low on nearly all of the exams. Ended the semester with 70.98%. I even had a D for a while. Do all the homework ahead of time to keep up. I really didn't think I'd pass, many of my peers didn't
*only had this teacher for lab*!! If you have social anxiety or get nervous asking questions, dont take this class. She will make you feel stupid for asking certain questions or elaborating. Although she is willing to help you outside of class and explains things well. Her labs are manageable & shes lenient on late work.
Loved Professor Brandon, though this was a VERY difficult class. Overall chem 110 is very hard, but she gave every resource available. My downfall was not utilizing every resource from the start. I am usually an A student but this was my most difficult class yet and ended with a B. Though she is very kind and is up to helping when you ask.
Patricia clearly has a lot of knowledge about Chemistry but lacks compassion for students. No study guides for test. Don't even try asking questions or elaborations. Test were 8 pages long! Throws in random questions that were never taught in lectures. Quizzes were horrible and stressful; they were 8?'s, only had 10 min to complete. DO NOT TAKE HER
Professor Brandon is actually a very good teacher and is quite funny. She can seem intimidating at first but is very caring towards her students. You need to read through the textbook and actually do the homework to score well and understand chem fully. The test are pretty long so make sure you come prepared for them and ask questions when needed.
I've seen a lot of negative reviews about this professor and want to clear things up. Professor Brandon is a challenging professor, and knows her chemistry very well. This makes the lectures a lot more intense, but reading the textbook and doing assigned problems ensures success. She is very helpful if you communicate with her, and very witty.
Online free textbooks. ZERO tech knowledge. Lectures are minimally educational and focused on practice problems. Tests are made way harder than necessary, and she will laugh in your face about it. If you have the periodic table memorized, you'll do great. If you need a teacher who wants to help their students learn & pass, find another one.
This was the most frustrating class I have ever taken in college. Busywork was assigned (that you have to pay for via online subscription) Exams are derived from ungraded extra homework. Work takes weeks to be graded. Due dates on quizzes were changed to within hours of the notification. This class has a 50% failure rate per the professor.
Her lectures are disorganized and minimally educational, so self-teaching is a must. Quizzes/tests were excessively difficult and included content not covered in lectures. Made last-minute assignment changes, so due dates were unclear. Once changed a due date at midnight from later in the week to the very next day, and then failed everyone for it.
Would frequently lose keys to lab, so we often fell behind in class because we couldn't cover all of the material for the day. Was so paranoid about cheating that she once posted a practice exam and then took it down. And would refuse to help with homework/test solutions in class. You'd have to book a private Zoom with her in order to do so.
Please do not take chemistry with her. She makes the class more difficult than it ACTUALLY is for no apparent reason. I withdrew from the class to conserve my GPA and retook this class with different professors (who were awesome) and received an A. CHM 110 is hard, which is no big deal, but she makes the class insufferable.
I am usually an A student. Took her class and ended up with a C. Her quizzes are difficult and she puts a timer that is either not enough time to finish the quiz or just enough to finish. Tests are just as difficult. Her average for the tests are LOW. Please do not take her class for lecture.
She does not know how to teach. The class average is literally an F and will not change her teaching method to help better her students' understanding. She will make you feel dumb for asking questions and answer them rudely. Assigns lots of hw, says it doesn't matter and to focus on 20 unassigned hw problems. Waste of money to teach yourself.
Professor Brandon gives multiple sources to be successful, many Knewton homework assignments, textbook pages, videos, worksheets, lectures and quizzes, all of which show different material. The keys for the worksheets had no work shown. Tests were very difficult and had things that were never covered in lecture or any previously mentioned sources.
Although occasionally sassy and tough to commiunicate with, she is mostly easygoing. I literally never studied and did not do the homework, but was able to at least pass. If you study at least 20-40 minutes 5 days a week, it will be an easy A. She provides a lotttt of resources, I just never used them and regret that. Just do ur hw and you are set.
Lab is much better than lecture. You have to write the procedure on a carbon copy notebook before every lab (tedious but whatever), and print the lab as well for the report sheets (money adds up but whatever). Very easy, no homework. Just time consuming because labs tend to last the full time, with a few exceptions if you finish early. I reccomend.
Professor Brandon was all right. It could be worse. Labs are pretty straightforward as long as you do the pre-lab. Be prepared to spend $30 on a carbon copy notebook. Exams are pretty easy too, very similar to the labs. Kinda seems rude at times, but wants you to succeed.
I know its only in the middle of the semester for me to say anything but with the experience I'm having so far, I am absolutely so disappointed. The times I have shown up for lectures, shes reads from a textbook and doesnt give feedback on quizzes or other assignments. To honestly pass this class, you would need to know the material ahead of time.
This class, sadly, is a prime example of the failure of our education system. Professor Brandon seems like a nice woman, which is why I didn't rate her a 1. She doesn't cultivate the interests of her students whatsoever, her "teaching" (if you could call it that) is all over the place, and the curriculum is rough. It's frustrating and saddening.
Patricia Brandon does not care about your success. She doesn't prepare you for her tests or quizzes, and you can't see what mistakes you made on either. Her tests are way too long for a class that is only 90 minutes. If you are taking this class, you will need to dedicate a lot of time to self-studying and help from outside sources. Good luck.
This is easily the worst professor I've taken here. paycheck professor, course is very dysfunctional as in the homework, worksheets, quizzes, and tests are not reflective of one another. She is also very condescending. class average is failing, quizzes and tests are way too long for time given. literally avoid at all cost. Lab is no better either.
Tests do not reflect what goes on in lecture, boat loads of online homework every 2 weeks and absolutely will not help you take the lecture tests/quizzes. Do not be fooled by the 3.1 stars, this class was hell. Avoid this class if you value your GPA or sanity. Curriculum is dysfunctional and lab is no different.
This professor makes this class 100 times harder than it is. She does not give nearly enough time to complete the quizzes. The class average for every exam is an F yet she refuses to curve it or change her teaching methods. Not helpful at all, if you ask her a question she will get bothered and respond with attitude. Take with another professor!!!!
Professor Brandon is much better than people make her seem. Chem110 is a challenging class. She comes off a bit intimidating, but is a very nice woman and has a clear grading system. Her exams are hard, but she has a lot of resources and office hours. She does care about you as a student, but as a student, you need to show you care about the class.
Professor Brandon's class was a real challenge, but with the help of resources like unstuck ai, I was able to stay on top of the material. The lectures could be disorganized, but the textbook and extra practice problems were essential for success.
she is a nice lady. But I tried to really be on top of this class, went to almost every single lecture, watched all the videos she posted said would help and did worksheets. Only one thing I didn't do is opentax practice. Lectures were mainly on problems and does not explain formulas with details, taught in really fast pace. Still got low C.
It is possible to pass this class and the prof is nice and accessible outside class. However, she goes fast and expects students to be that fast, I ran out of time on every single test and the questions are usually not like the examples done in class, even though basically all we do in class are example problems with little explanation about why.
Professor Brandon can be intimidating, but wants us to succeed. We do practice problems in lecture, she posts extra resources (videos, worksheets, openstax problems), and is easily accessible if you have questions. Lots of homework, don't get behind. Exams are difficult- her grading criteria is clear, learn from what you missed in her office hours.
Avoid at all costs. Inefficient teacher and confusing. Very difficult tests. Much more hw than necessary and weekly quizzes that were harder than they needed to be. Be prepared to focus on this class only if you want to get a good grade.
It will be very difficult to get an A in this class because what is taught in lecture isn't thoroughly explained. If you want more guidance about what will be on exams don't take this class I was absolutely clueless :(
If you care about your GPA pick a different professor. She brags on the first day that the average grade in her class is an F. Don't be like me and think you can do well because it's nearly impossible.
As long as you use the resources she provides, you'll be fine. I maintained an A throughout the semester and the tests are what formulates your grade. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions because she is willing to help.
