I took her A&P class. She knows a lot about biology, but her teaching style is really boring and helpless. She grades really slow, almost a week after an assignment is due. She did not give any feedback for exams, tests, and assignments. Do not take her class if you really want to learn about biology.
UGH. Dr. Green is awful. Very unorganized, boring, and just recites off her slides or goes on tangents that are irrelevant. She's smart, but horrid at relating to students at the CC level. I'm glad I had some A&P experience, because I'm STILL struggling in her class. Her labs are even worse than lecture. If you want to really understand, avoid her.
lectures are okay, but presentations leave much to be desired for study purposes. Lectures are vague, you never know what you should really be studying. She will return e-mails with any questions.
The lectures were not interesting whatsoever so it was difficult to maintain an interest in the subject. She is vague when it comes to what is necessary for the exams.
Online class. Youtube lectures were beyond boring. Assignments were easy as you could redo them. Tests were difficult as the lectures didn't prepare you for them. She made you take the final in person despite this being an online class and the average was 49%. That says a lot about the preparation the class provided.
Well the past reviews were correct.Lectures nothing but slides-what her tests are based off of. No reviews for tests, material in lecture after you have done the work in labs.First test 4 chapters study guides 59 questions covering:chem, biochem, tissues, cells, anatomical body, cavities, systems, physio of all listed in first two weeks-first test.
Lectures are somewhat rushed it helps a lot to print out slides. She knows her stuff and can usually answer any question you have and relate it back to the topic were covering. Study guides were exactly what we were tested on, study and you will get a good grade. She doesn't expect You to spell everything correctly or know every little bone like other prof. She's going through some personal issues so yes it took her a little while to post grades. Overall I like her and would take her classes aga

Professor Green is very knowledgeable and relays that to her students. She utilized ANGEL with slides and helpful study guides. I really have enjoyed her class, she will go out of her way to make her students succeed and is approachable. Her tests are fail but difficult as the material is not easy. I would recommend taking her classes.
She's a great teacher. I took this class with other teachers and didn't like it. But in greens class I pulled out an A.
I actually had her for A&P I&II. Only for familiarity. Her tests are not based on the things she tends to focus on in lecture, it's hard to get an understanding of the material unless you have a strong study group. I would not reccommend her. She gets frustrated w/struggling students easily & favors others.
Didn't last two weeks in this class before I decided to drop it. Didn't care for her at all. First day she doesn't even introduce herself and instead gives us a lab without hardly explaining what to do and leaves you to fend for yourselves. She seems to expect you to be familiar with chemistry, so taking that first may be more beneficial. Hard to understand her teaching. So glad I dropped her class early on.
No guidance, she called the class idiots because she did not make sure that the lab was done correctly. Poor people skills, does not smile, I struggled in her class. She is very unfriendly and does not answer emails, ims or questions in class or her office. I will never take her again. She yelled at us alot about how we are stupid.
This class was exceptionally difficult. Her lectures did not prepare you for the posted quizzes, and the time limit for the quizzes was unmanageable even for the top student in class. She does favor students and talk down about other students who arent doing as well. I would never recommend taking this class from her.
Her lectures are very boring and it is hard to keep an interest in the subject. She is very vague about the information needed for tests and quizzes. She provides no study guides and has very challenging tests and quizzes that include material not lectured on. I would not recommend her class to anyone.
As long as you come to every class, take notes, listen to her web videos and study you can pass. She's not really horrible as most people say. She knows her stuff and wants you to know it too. Isn't that why we are in college, to learn? Her test can be a challenge but not if you know the material, so just study, study, study!
She is not that bad. Her quizzes are difficult but she you have a chance to regain some pts by doing a correct in lab. She uses a lot of case studies instead of just questions. She really is interested in you learning the information and not just memorizing it. She has a great website that has all of lectures/slides online.NOT BAD!Chance it!
Pattie may seem like a hard teacher at first, but if u go to class, watch her lectures (!!!!!!), and attend S.I. if u are struggling, u will get an easy A. The key is watching her lectures that she posts online for u...make sure u do, becuz in class she only hits the big pts she thinks needs extra attention. Dont buy the book, u dont need it.
Not as hard as I expected. She really knows her stuff! Tests can be hard if you dont study, would recommend putting together study group. Listen to lectures, print slides from her website. Class lectures only cover more difficult material. Labs are fairly easy if you get a good lab group together. Study guid is bullets from website.Very HAPS focsed
Her instructions were unclear and sometimes contradictory to things she's asked for prior.
I love biology, so I thought I would enjoy this OLC a lot. I was extremely wrong. The teacher relies solely on technology to teach us and makes herself invisible & never available. She contradicts herself as well. She will also blame Angel for giving the wrong grade. I thought I had a C+, but really, I had a C- thanks to Angel (her excuse).
Difficult class but she made it even more complex. Not very encouraging teacher and not approachable at all. Not helpful at all. She dresses inappropriately.
I have done very well in school up until this class. Her tests are extremely hard and confusing. I studied for hours and still got in the 60s on tests. She is not very nice and talks to you like children. I wouldnt recommend this class to anyone. I ended up having to retake this class.
Very confusing in her approach on the dissemination of the information. She is not approachable and condescending. Her professionalism is questionable, her attire is entirely inappropriate.
Pattie is a great teacher: knowledgeable & approachable. If you put in the effort, As are totally achievable. If you disrespect her by being unprepared or feeling entitled, she doesn't put up with any nonsense. And she shouldn't! It is a waste of the class' time. I enjoyed her micro class and hope to take her for A&P, as well.
I took her web enhanced class and it stress me out. I am a nursing student and I did all my previous class A or A-, but I currently got a C in her class. I do not think the lectures are difficult to understand but she make things not organized at all. her explanations during classes are not clear. She did not give the study guide before test.
Professor green is by far the worst teacher I have had to date in school. I am an overall A student and I am seriously struggling in this class because of how unorganized she is. Does not prepare you for her tests at all. Midterm review had 60 questions and not one was actually on the midterm. Avoid her like if you want to learn or do well!
She is not as bad as people say. She's extremely smart and knows her subject thoroughly. Her test are difficult and the lab quizzes can be brutal. However, if you take notes, pay attention, take the time to study and review you'll do well. I emailed often and she always answered quickly. I visited her in her office as well. Approachable.
Pattie was nothing like I expected after reading some of the comments off this page. She was very informative, helpful, humorous at times, and approachable. You just can't go into her class expecting a good grade. You NEED to study to understand the material. She has lots of resources available to do so- So use them.
Very smart MICROBIOLOGIST. However could not teach herself out of a brown paper bag. I among some peers very confused with content constantly. Tests were overly studied for wrong terms/ideas. Hard to get a grasp on what specifically she wants. Applied microbiology is this class if you want it. I suggest a different teacher if you need a book..
Tests include case studies that are very tricky. No study guides. You must take fabulous notes and most importantly understand the material as the tests take alot of thought. She is not patient and willing to help, sometimes condescending.
I loved Pattie and she is very knowledgeable in this subject. She'll explain things in different ways until you understand. Module quizzes weren't easy, but study the objectives & watch the online lectures. Lab exams are hard but if you use your lab time well (read the lab before class) you'll do fine. I'd really suggest going to open lab times!
I love Dr. Green! She really cares about her students, treats everyone equally, and does not make you feel "dumb" for not understanding. Ultimately, This class is not easy, but what do you expect? This is A&P, a notoriously difficult class. If you are serious and willing to work hard and be present you will do well.
Pattie is a really nice and funny lady. On the teaching spectrum, she seems overwhelmed half of the time which makes her lectures lame. No offense to her, but her communication skills are lacking. Her tests are kinda tricky and you will not be receiving a study guide, just module questions. Overall, I think i would have taken someone else.
Dress code ;-
LOTS of online homework (2-4 hrsnight) Quiz daily but no tests except for final. Lots of in class interactive activities and fun worksheets that really help. (Her motto is that repetition will help you learn) A's are extremely difficult to earn in her class, but her teaching sets you up for success in further classes.
Micro demands ur time & attention to detail. Dont mistake Dr. Green's bluntness in class, she's just trying to cover all the material, there's a lot! She is very willing to help in lab, ask questions, go to her office hours. U also have to put for the effort, she will recognize it & help u! The more u work w her the better u will succeed!!
if you want to succeed in this class you have to WORK for it!!! The material is extensive & there's a lot of it. If you seek her help & go to her office hours SHE WILL HELP YOU! But if you're one of those students that just goes to(or skips) class, does minimal amount of work & crams for exams, you wont pass. This is def. a weed out course.
Take excellent notes and form a study group. There's a lot of information covered, but you'll be prepared for national exam. Critical thinking is a must! Also, she has made VERY HELPFUL videos.
Expects you to know every single small detail. Makes you study like you are in a medical school working on your PhD
Dr. Green goes farther into detail than the other biology 241 teachers, she is very into details. While lecturing she looks at the clock a lot as if she can't wait for class to end. Never really seems happy to help. Please avoid her class, this class is already hard enough but her teaching style does not help. My peers teach better than she does.
Patty is by far the most difficult teacher I've taken. Took her for A&P both quarters bc all classes were full. Questions on exams are all multiple choice, but they are very specific so be prepared to study the smallest details to pass. I did not buy the textbook, all info you need can be found in her very lengthy (but helpful) online videos.
If you want the most knowledgeable instructor, take her. If you don't like study groups, don't take her. I had a lot of people in other AP classes say, Oh wow your taking Green, I feel for you. At first my response was, yes pray for me. But after I realized what an advantage we had over the other classes my response turned into, I feel for YOU
Dr. Green knows her stuff and expects her students to know theirs! She seems unapproachable but isn't. Is more than willing to help if asked. Be prepared to give her class a LOT of your time to do well. She's going to make you earn a good grade. Her lab practicals & tests are pretty tough but passable if you give yourself ample study time.
If you study hard you should be able to pass with a 3.5. Make sure you help the people around you or that are in your lab because your assignment grades are based off from them as well. If you need help, just ask she is always willing to answer questions.
Pattie is an is one of the best professors I have ever had. I really enjoyed her class and she became almost like a mentor to me. She is a tough grader which really requires you to actually learn the information. Her lectures were very informative and interesting, and you will not be successful unless you attend every class.
Not only is Pattie an expert in the field (PhD), she truly wants her students to learn to comprehend; this is why her students do very well on the HAPS exam. She pushes you to work hard but in the end you will understand so much more. She is tough and detail-oriented. Take thorough notes and read everything. Your life will be this class!
She's super cool and totally approachable. Knows her stuff too!
straightforward about requirements. has high expectations because it's a high-level course
She's extremely smart, but doesn't have the best communication skills to teach. Don't ask for help - she'll make you feel stupid. Don't ask random questions - she gets on rabbit trails. I have to re-take the class because she made the course so difficult. Only 50% pass rate.
Pattie is an amazing teacher and really smart. She makes lecture interesting and literally spells everything out for you on the board. She has high expectations because this is a tough class. Go to class, do your work and study. You will love her!!
One of the most accessible teachers I have ever had. She is available way more than just the stated "Office Hours" for any students who take the time to seek her help. She really cares about her students. It's a tough topic but you learn an amazing amount from her!
I have never learned more in my life. A really passionate and caring teacher who is amazingly available via office visits, email, and phone. It is a tough course but she made it a fun challenge!
This was the 1st time TCC offered (for Washington State students) 3rd quarter of Anatomy & Physiology. Dr. Green modeled the class after graduate level courses so that we were doing cool stuff like Journal Club for peer reviewed literature and the labs included chances to test and analyze our own blood lipids and blood glucose levels. Great class!
Quiz in every single class very knowledgable. Sometimes gets lost on a tangent about a relevant point. Very serious about her rules. Not accepting of any kind of late work. Smart, gives lots of online homework. make sure you always check your mastering and modules areas, because sometimes theres homework hidden. Fast slideshow reader, won't go back
My personal experience is that Pattie was not interested in being an active participant of an online Bio class I took. Most of the class used the textbook publisher's online features and the few things that she did contribute were often mistake-ridden or completely the wrong assignment. Very little attention to detail on her part.
The professor expects her biology students to memorize every small detail. Makes her students study like in medical school . Our average first test was 68% and she didn't seem to be bothered. I am a student with a science GPA of 3.4, and in this class I received a 2.0. I spent all my days studying for this class and I wasn't close to an A.
Definitely a tough grader. Tests are tough partially because of wording ( including typos) additionally, you are tested on extraneous details. Expectations are not always clear and at times unrealistic. She made multiple mistakes, yet not very understandable when students make mistakes. Despite all this, lectures are interesting !
Dr. Green is exceptionally qualified in her profession. She is extremely approachable and easy to love. The tests themselves can cater to very nit-picky details and can be difficult to study for. She also has a pension for asking a question, having three options that are extremely complex, and the answer being the most simple option available.
AVOID! Tests are rushed. Extremely hard grader. Postlabs were extremely time consuming and not much time was given to finish them. I never figured out how to study for her tests. I read through every chapter and every lecture slide but still couldn't get a decent grade. She should be teaching graduate students.
She definitely knows her stuff, but since our quarter was cut short she had to modify our material to reflect that. The result was a lot of rushed labs and skipped material. She definitely puts stuff on the test she forgets to mention in class, which she told us she does often. If she says you don't need to know something, know it anyway, trust me.
Wants you to understand the material in depth to apply those concepts to the material. Explains in multiple ways for better understanding. If you want a professor who gives you the information straight, she is the one. Your grade reflects the effort you put into the class. Has incredible background of medical field.
Dr. Green knows her stuff, and cuts no corners. You will be expected to be in class every day, quizzes are given every class as well as in-class assignments and homework. Don't show up to class and that is a 0 for each assignment/quiz missed that day.
She's by far my favorite professor at TCC. She makes concepts easier to grasp and is very visual. The tests are very difficult - but she wants you to succeed and offers ways to earn points outside of exams as well. Good person and great teacher.
Good lecturer, but tests are difficult (though Dr. Green does recognize they are hard). Dr. Green has a tendency to be contradictory to what is on Canvas and what she says in class. The extra credit is well worth completing was worth 5% of our overall grade, but it took a very long time to complete.
Funny and good at her job. Does have a stutter/lisp and is difficult to understand at times.
Dr. Green is brilliant professor. Her class was the most difficult course I've taken, but I learned a ton! Study the learning objectives, attend lectures, and utilize her recorded lectures online for reference. Don't just memorize terms, study to understand the learning objectives because you have to apply them on tests to answer correctly.
She is knowledgeable. If you complain that she is a tough grader that is not wrong. However, when you still have to take upper division classes in biology, you will feel lucky and grateful because you took her class, and you just review all materials again (save your time to study other class). Study hard is a key to be success in her class.
Fantastic, caring professor. Bottom line is YOU are the reason you will either succeed or fail her class. She is extremely understanding, labs and lecture are interesting. I have a bachelors degree from another university and Pattie is one of the BEST professors I have ever had. To be successful in her class you have to be ready to work and study.
This was my last class at Tcc and the most difficult class Ive taken. shes the worst teacher I have ever had. She makes it so hard for the students and no study guides. You have to work extra hard to pass her class. Please take a different teacher!
Pattie was an ok teacher. She was caring and understanding. Gave decent feedback. There is a lot of homework, quizzes and such. Not much interaction between classmates for this class except for the first week. If you had questions, she responded in a timely manner. Unsure if I would take her again for any future classes though.
Gives students no guidance at all, all the questions on exams and the graded homework are worded weird and some even make no sense. Through everything you know about chemistry and biology out the window cause you need to say it exactly how she wants it. Unclear on what she wants for assignments and has graded "clicker" questions during lecture
Does not give study guides, no extra credit and is a very harsh grader. She's also unapproachable and seems to always have an attitude. She contradicts what she says alot so take everything with a grain of salt. She does graded questions during lecture which is horrible. 30 MC questions worth 4 each. Even if you know everything her exams are tough.
Pattie is one of the best professors I've had. She is a tough grader, but she gives you everything you need to pass. If you study and understand her lectures, you're almost guaranteed an A. She gives study guides, subs the final exam grade for a missed test, gives weekly 5 pt in class "quizzes" and free textbook. RECORD THE LECTURES!
She is a tough grader, exams are MC but are worth 4-5 questions each and there's only about 20-25 questions. No study guides and shes kinda rude so I never asked her for help. She has graded "clicker" questions during lecture, labs are all handwritten. This class was made harder than it needed to be, I would not recommend her to anybody.
Shes the rudest teacher Ive ever had at TCC. On our first day she said she doesnt like teaching.. and it shows. Shes condescending and doesnt want to help her students. HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU GET SOMEONE ELSE FOR MICRO.
Nutrition: 3 credits Worst class I have ever taken. I've finished all my nursing prerequisites and this was my last class. She gives no extra credit, no study guides. She gave us tons of work and I had no idea how to study for this class. She makes everything more complicated then it should be.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! SHE DOES NOT PROVIDE GUIDANCE OR STUDY GUIDES, MAKES EVERY ASSIGNMENT HARDER THAN IT SHOULD BE. SMH she is just not a good professor at all, every quiz and test questions are far from what you learn in lectures, and she likes to twist her word as if she want the students to fail and confuse them. Complicated teaching style!!!
Dr. Green is an absolute gem! Her lectures (which include everything you need for the class) are clear, detailed and easy to listen to. The course is very assignment heavy, but that helps because you are constantly going over the info. Her labs are great - sourdough starter! Only complaint is her 250 pt final which I still need to take. Take her!
Terrible lecture videos (Pattie Sue Green on youtube) My short attention span has me searching out more engaging material (or listen at x1.5 speed). A lot of the HW q's are from the lectures and you pretty much need to watch them. Tough questions, tests have a lot of fill-in-the-blank and essay, but she grades easy if you try (and don't cheat!)
I had Professor Green for Microbiology Winter 2021. It was a difficult class due to having very specific questions on the exam and not being provided clear instructions on what would be on the exams. There are homework assignments due very week which you are allowed to retake once. Very lecture heavy.
Professor green is by FAR the worst professor I have ever encountered. She genuinely does not care about her students or helping them to succeed in any way. I still got an A but it came with a LOT of teeth pulling. Please don't take her class. She told me that she couldn't answer genuine questions I had because it would be too much work.
This class kept me from sleeping at night, I have nightmares to this day about having to re-take this class. Thankfully, I earned an A.. BUT it was because I used the book, not her lectures and I had a few friends with like-minded opinions so we worked together. Professor Green is a nice woman, I am sure she means well. But DO NOT take this class.
I would not recommend taking her class. I thought this would be a fun class and it has been the most stressful class. You're expected to know all the material by heart, which is a lot. The homework is pretty easy but the exam will get you. A lot of my time is dedicated to this class, and even when you feel like you're studying is enough, it isn't:/
At first, I really struggled, there is a LOT of assignments to do in this class. That being said, there is a LOT of material that needs to be covered. Pay attention to her lectures, write down everything! Study really well and put the time in and you'll be ok. She is very approachable and very sweet. Replay her lectures before exams, too, it helps.
she is super sweet !! definitely make sure to reach out at the beginning so shes familiar with you. tests are specific but if you try at the question you can usually get points. hard class and tons of work but definitely doable!!
The previous statements this class gave me nightmares you cant possibility study enough test questions are so specific are true! That said, I feel the need to defend Pattie. She loves what she teaches and she is SO smart! Almost too smart! She makes her expectations clear. Try and connect with her, it helps! Its hard but I learned soo much!
Nutrition 101
Do not take this class! She expects you to have grad school level knowledge and is a very tough grader. All lectures are prerecorded and does not offer extra credit. Lockdown browser with video for tests and not at all understanding when the lockdown program was having issues. Worst class and worst teacher I've taken at TCC. Horrible experience.
I came into this quarter with my defenses up after having a bad professor the quarter prior. The more 1 on 1 I had with professor green I realized she tried to relate to me and actually see me succeed. Downfall is she doesnt give study guides related to the tests just generic study guides. i would definitely take her again.
I don't understand why people are giving bad reviews / rate with Dr. Green. It was online lectures & in person lab, and she was actually really helpful overall. The lectures are well explained and not too long or short. She will have some review session before the exams so you can ask questions or get to know about topic if any help needed.
Green is very anti men, particularly white men. Her introduction states that she doesn't like Ms, Mrs, or Miss because it was created by white men, not joking. She said to ask questions and doesn't respond when you do ask. Green uses a lockdown browser for all test and includes you to have a webcam when taking them.
I thought Professor Green was very passionate about her work. The tests were difficult but not impossible. She definitely wanted everyone to succeed and had in-class study sessions before some big tests. I would recommend taking this class but be prepared to work!
After reading these reviews I was somewhat scared to take this class. When I began taking her class, I thought she was a tad abrasive, but if you take the time to actually get to know her, and ask questions, she will respect you. She asks a lot of her students, but I think it really helps you to understand the material.
At first I was hesitant on taking BIO241 with Professor Green due to the reviews, but I'm glad I took that chance with her. She is an amazing Professor and she knows what she's doing. I love how she is always there to help with her students. Would recommend taking her for BIO241. Only 3 tests, but lots of lecture videos.
