Recommend you do the hw, but it's not actually due. Tests are almost exactly the hw q's though so it's in your best interest. Sweet class.

I took Math 253 online. The online class pretty much forces you to do well on homework and quizzes. It is obvious that this professor is very concerned for her students, because she sends you an email every week telling you if you are behind and what you need to do. She seemed very flexible and willing to help out as well.

Patty is the best teacher ever. Class is very easy if you do the hw, which you don't turn in but the quizzes are exactly from the hw. Very helpuful teacher, she show you the easy way to resolve the problem, when is a big formula.She tell you exactly what's going to be on the midterm and final. I hate math and am so bad at it, but I got an A in this class thanks to Patty. You can retake all the quizzes and get only the highest score. And the final is exactly the same as the last quiz. You can retake it however many times you need to learn the problems. This was the best math class I've ever taken.

I am AWFUL at math, but I took her online class and ended up with a B. You get a bonus point towards exams for doing HW on time, and the midterm & final are multiple choice. Nice. It sometimes felt like a lot of busy work, but if you do it all there's pretty much no way you can not pass.

Super easy online class, as long as you're always keeping on time. Final doesn't count towards your grade and you can always redo homework and quizzes and tests. Teacher is promp to get back and was very helpful.

She is amazing!I had her for an online math253 classthen began her Math10 course. Her technique brings mathto life.Math has always been hard for me, especially w/learning disabilities. The only thing I suggest is that if you are a working student, rethink taking her. She dropped me, because I missed 3 classes, but i have to work to pay for college

To finish my comment, im a photographer, meaning that business is SLOW. I booked 2 weddings before school started thinking that 2, wouldnt be too many. I had to find some way to pay off my books, so i took them. Well I took one too many and she only allows 2, thus I was dropped. So if youre an indi worker..think of going for an online class instead

EASY! I had Friday only class. u make a group(optional) & ea week there is quiz. If 3 ppl in ur group get 9/10 or more everyone gets 1 pnt xtra crdit. I made a random group with ppl i never talkd to and we got a lot of points that way. the quiz is 1 or 2 questions that r directly off HW prblms. 1 mdterm 1 final. like 14 quizs? i got A nvr studied

She made stats real easy to understand, not to mention she is very easy on the eyes. She doesn?t try to make thing overly complicated. Go to class every session take good notes, study hard and there is not way you can fail.

Friday morning class. I got an A and I'm not even that good at math. If you keep up with the homework--which only takes about 1-2 hours a week--it's a very easy class. I think she was just born to teach. Her approach to teaching is precise and engaging. Very organized grading structure and schedule.

I am horrible at Math and failed this class in the past. Taking math online was much better. I could learn at my pace, do my homework on my time and redo anything that I didn't get high grades on. Before the final I had a 99% in the class. You won't need the professor much, but when you do she is extremely helpful. Highly recommend this class.

Professor Wallins is such an incredible teacher. She's clear on her lectures, organized, and gives quizzes, dropping the lowest one. Quizzes are from the homework. There are study guides before the Midterm & Final. I recommend forming groups, since it gets you extra credit if you get 9 or higher correct for quizzes. She's so patient & nice too.

Amazing professor. I took her for Math 251 and received an A, made the mistake of taking another professor for Math 253 and got a C. I took her for Stats and got an A. Show up, pay attention, and do homework and you're guaranteed an A. Weekly quizzes directly from HW questions, and gives great exam reviews. Labs are only 10% of grade, but helpful.

This is my second class with Professor Evans-Wallin. I can't believe I was able to walk out with another A. Like my last post stated I'm horrible at math. I feel like I was able to learn and comprehend so much from this class. Crossing my fingers I can get her for Math 10 in the Fall.

If you're going to take Math 10, take Evans-Wallin... Weekly quizzes 40% of your grade and midtermfinal 30% each.. the quizzes are usually 1-3 problems worth 10 points each... So its worth doing the homework... Although, I never do the hw.. I just study my notes before class and I'm usually fine.. However, what works for me may not work for you.

Math is not my thing, but wow Evans-Wallin really helped me! This was my first college math class and my first online class. She sticks to the syllabus, the homeworkweekly quizzes are online (which you can take until you get 100%), and the final review is basically the test. Stick to a schedule and do reviews repeatedly and YOU WILL GET AN A!

Had to drop out of stats the semester before because I was failing, but I passed her class with an A. Lectures are long but super clear and easy to understand. One of the best math teachers i've ever had.

Ms. Evans-Wallin is a terrific stats professor. She is HAPPY to teach, ORGANIZED, and VERY CLEAR in her lectures. She answers questions and reviews in class the current chapter prior to quizzes and exams. The class moves quickly,so best not to miss. Small study groups form on day one for extra credit opportunities. Loved this class!!!

Professor Evans Wallin is, by far, the best teacher I've had the pleasure of learning from at Saddleback College. She is extremely helpful and organized. There is a fair amount of homework in this class, but it is a 5 unit class. Plus, practice is what helps anyone learn math, so it is a good thing! I highly recommend her for any math classes.

I failed stats the first time I took it, I had as awful teacher and it was just so hard. When I took it the second time with Patty, I got an A. She is so thorough and just amazing at teaching stats. There are quizzes every week and extra credit opportunities on all of them! She cares and wants you to pass. Don't take anyone else!

Homework is not mandatory, but there are quizzes everyday. The quiz questions come straight from the homework. She requires students to go into study groups but the students get to choose who they are with and at what time. Her teaching is easy to follow. Honestly, if you did well in pre-calculus in high school than you will Ace this class.

Best statistics teacher ever! You will notice her class fills up fast. She makes lectures crystal clear, easy quiz (based off homework) every week, and keeps things interesting! I took the online course. The videos are very helpful and MyMathLab is very useful in figuring out problems. The professor is polite and responds to questions in a reasonable amount of time. I'm still shocked I was able to learn some equations that I've struggled hard with in the past!

I absolutely adore this professor. I have taken 2 of her classes already. She uses mymathlab, an online textbook that has video and interactive exercises to complete hw, quizzes, and final exam. The layout of the course is straight forward with a weekly due date every sunday (but you can work ahead if desired). Know your material and you will pass.

I have takin Professor Wallin for three classes. Two were online and this class was in a class room. She is my favorite professor. I Loved her class. Her lectures were so clear and if you made the effort to show you were trying to went over and beyond to help you!!! I would tell everyone to take her!!!!

The perfect balance of enough work to learn and feel like you are actually taking a class but not so much that it is frustrating or feels like unnecessary busy work. Teacher is very nice, everything is based on an expensive Pearson program, but it's a good one. Teacher looks like Julianne Moore. 4-5 assignments per week, usually about 6 hours.

TAKE HER FOR STATS! Explains material very well. I took a once a week class so we had a quiz every week but they were easy as long as you did the homework (which was optional but highly recommended). Seriously, if you want an A in this class, all you have to do is do the homework every week because the quiz/test questions are straight from the hwk

I took her Math 253 class online and it was easy. It is not a hard class at all and you can keep doing a problem until you get right. Her quizzes you are able to take as many times as you want. She gives a midterm and final practice quiz and homework assignment and seriously is the exact same as the final and midterm. REALLY recommend taking her.

Took her stats class and it is safe to say she is the best professor at saddleback. I am really not good with math, but for some reason I grasped everything she taught so easily. I truly loved her class and found myself absorbed in her lectures. Take her!!! She needs to teach every other math teacher her ways, wish she taught math 11!!

One of the best teachers I've had in my life! Take REALLY GOOD notes. You can use notes/formulas for all quizzes and exams. Hmwk questions are on quizzes. 12 quizzes (keep the first 5 highest before midterm and last 5 highest after midterm), midterm exam, and final exam. When you form groups make sure you have responsible people, xtra credit helps.

I took this class online, so it was nice because you can keep retaking any quizzes and all homework questions until you pass. You can get A's on everything very easily but just make sure that you pay attention because it all matters how you do on the final and the midterm. They define your real grade. No txtbook needed because it's done on Canvas.

She is truly a DREAM teacher & I wish she would teach EVERY subject. She makes it easy for you to be successful and her whole teaching system is so efficient and organized. No trick questions or surprises on quizzes/exams because she sincerely wants you to learn & be successful & treats every student as if they are her own child. So knowledgeable!!

I took on-line. I would highly suggest this type of format as you can watch video as many times as you need to get it. When I would get frustrated I would email her and she always gave me positive feedback. Need to keep up on a daily/weekly basis. Passed with a B, and I was horrible in math prior.

Patty was really great! There was homework but we did not have to turn it in whatsoever; however, this doesn't mean that the homework is not required. She takes quiz questions from the homework, so it is a good idea to do the homework. Also, if you are free on days that you do not go to school and you're not that good at math, GO GET TUTORING!

I took Beginning Algebra from her online. I enjoyed her class so much that I refuse to take Intermediate Algebra or Statistics with any other teacher. She responds quickly to emails and is willing to help her students. Wish I could have her for all my classed

She's the best! Homework is optional, but the quizzes are exact questions from the homework. You don't have to remember any formulas because you will have a formula sheet. Her quizzes and tests are easy if you do the homework and study guides. She is great at explaining everything. There's extra credit opportunities by being in a study group.

Grade is made up of midterm, final, and quizzes (1 per week). She is very understanding, and makes sure everyone in the class is understanding the material. HW is not required for grade, but quiz is literally taken from HW word for word.

Took this professor online for Spring 2019, she was very simple, requires you to accomplish homework online with help from MyLab Math lecture videos, but lets you know that she is always available to help. Only had to take midterm and final for big tests, everything else is just completing homework on time. Would recommend for 353 online.

Prof. Evans Wallin IS AMAZING! Im not really a math kinda person but she makes understanding the concepts so basic and simple that I ended up getting 100% in the class... literally. Took Professor Wallin in an online class and it was amazing. Very nice down to earth professor. Her main goal is to see you succeed. Whenever I had questions she was super responsive and would always follow up to make sure i totally understood what she had said. She clearly laid out everything that she expected up front and it is up to you to do.

Loved Professor Evans Wallin! She was very helpful even though it was an online class. This class does require alot of work but the homework, quizzes, midterm and final are all doable. she allows a 4x6 card for the midterm and final. study guides are the same as the tests, so do well with the homework and you are fine. Discussion posts are simple.

It consists of weekly discussions and about 5 assignments a week on average. Assignments can be taken multiple times to improve scores. Quizzes can also be taken multiple times to improve scores, and only the midterm and final are proctored.

The online program is VERY clear! A video before every quiz! It is very homework heavy but thats to be expected for math. If you pay attention well you'll get an A, not a class you can slack off in.

Professor Wallin is my favorite professor I've ever had! She is extremely accessible, light-hearted, and really cares about you doing well in her class. Her lectures are extremely straight-forward, and she teaches slowly to make sure you understand the material. You have a chance for extra credit on every quiz you take as well! 10/10 professor.

Even if you have the worst math anxiety on the planet, this class is extremely doable, and Evans-Wallin is willing to help you in the kindest way no matter what confuses you. THE BEST MATH TEACHER EVER. this class is just go at your own pace because everything is due on sundays. dont wait until the last day to do the weekly assignment and homework because its about 9 hours a week. i almost failed AP stats and got an A in this class. I'm beyond grateful to have taken a math class taught by such a great instructor. First off, I have always dreadfully STRUGGLED with math and doubted my abilities in it, until I took this course that was so well laid out. Now, I even plan on taking her stats course because I'm so confident in my ability to learn the material SHE'S teaching.

I took Professor Wallin in Statistics to cover my math credit. She is very clear on grading criteria and gives you the entire week to complete homework assignments, which are easy. If you join a study group, you get extra credit for good quiz scores. Also, all the tests are taken at home with Proctorio, which is amazing if you have test anxiety!

Professor Evans-Wallin is super awesome. She has pre-formatted notes for you to fill in during the lectures. She also uses great, easy to understand, analogies. She also makes sure you're well prepared for the exams. Just make sure to go to class - it's so much easier to understand the lectures in person.

I loved her class. Structure was so useful for understanding stats & she made it the easiest it possibly could've been. The homework was time-consuming but she gives lots of EC & there are so many resources to help maximize your grade. 100% recommend her for taking stats. I took this professor's class in Spring of 2023, and she is really sweet. She understands that "math anxiety" can happen and is really understanding of her students. Her homework assignments weren't too hard either. I'm not even a math person, but I wasn't stressed at all in her class. It also went at a slow enough pace for me.

One of the easiest online classes to take. I highly recommend if you aren't sure what math to take for gen ed. Easy online homework and quizzes. No crazy tests. Easy lectures to understand. Teacher makes sure to send reminders when needed per week to turn in work. Just be careful with submissions, make sure you get work in on time each week!

Super great class and professor. Steady work throughout the week, and the work isn't hard as long as you show up and take ur notes. Exercise questions + actual tests weren't hard at all as long as you had your notes (and you can do multiple tries). Skills checks range from 5-7 questions, are proctorioed but open book. 10/10 recommend!

Professor Wallin is an amazing teacher!! All she wants is for you to succeed and pass the class. If you listen in class, do all the homework on time and are there for the revision classes, you will pass.

She is a great professor who cares about her students. There is a lot of online weekly work due as well as 2 midterms and a final. There is also extra credit opportunities. I recommend not falling behind which caused me to get the grade i got. The work is pretty straightforward and the class is easy to pass as long as you stay on track.

This professor is amazing! Her guided notes lectures really helped a LOT! She's always tackling "math anxiety" which is very common thing & I have never had a professor that inspired me so well in a subject I was normally anxious in.

Professor Evan-Wallins offers a well-structured online classroom for learning statistics. One to three lessons each week with a required discussion board. She also requires two replies. Content is easy to learn with the exam questions reflecting homework questions. Overall, would highly recommend it for those taking intro stats!

Took this online, you get lots of assistance, 1-3 lessons a week. You need to do the lesson THEN the homework to proceed with the course. There are study guides for all exams, clear instructions, LOTS of assistance. You also get multiple tries...LOTS OF ASSISTANCE. Prof is very understanding and helpful as well if you need extra help. open notes!

Two Homework assignments a week,Three open note tests throughout the semester with multiple retakes available, and you get points just for showing up to class.

you can just tell how much professor evans-wallin really does care about each student, even for an online class. easy and INTERESTING discussion boards. homework is due every sunday, it's a lot but i would cram them all in one day since it's just that easy. exams are the same format as homework! she provides guided notes to fill out as well

Evans-Wallin is such a kind soul. There is always a long waitlist for her class for a reason. I've had math professors who have given up on me and even advised me to drop their class, but Professor Wallins is honestly a hero if math is your kryptonite.

Took the online summer course which is 8 weeks. It was very fast paced, but if you follow her instructions and don't skip her videos, you'll be okay.

As someone who barely passed high school algebra, this has been by far one of the best classes I have taken, but it's CHALLENGING. It's very assignment heavy(5+hrs/week), fall 2 weeks behind you will be dropped. 3 exams, final exam is worth 20% of your grade, all open note. Professor E. is meticulously organized and she wants you to do well.

I HIGHLY recommend taking her Stats class in-person; easiest math class of my life. Super caring and kind professor. You can use her pre-prepared test review notes for each test online which are EXACTLY like the test problems just with different numbers. About 2-3 HW assignments a week, which make up more of the grade than tests. Do in-person.

Easiest math class I've ever taken. Her lectures are very simple and easy to understand and you get infinite tries to improve your score on the homework until the midterm. She posts the filled in notes so you don't even take any yourself. The exams were all online even though it was an in-person class and you can use the notes.
