She is very fair and a good teacher overall.

I don't know what those complainers are talking about. Yes, she is hard, but she's also very good. I can't see the point to complaints about staying the full class period, that's what we are supposed to do. I learned from her, that's what matters. I learned a lot.

I really think she was a great teacher. If you do he work and ask for help when you need it, then you should have no problem getting an A or a B. I would love to take her again but her class is already full.

Make sure you attend class, if you're there you'll understand what's going on. Intro to Lit was eay as long as you're there for the class discussions!!

A very unprofessional professor. She is extremely difficult and approaches teaching from a dictator style rather than a desire to foster academic development. When I offered comments about how she provides feedback I was told I wouldn't succeed academically if I got my feelings hurt too easily and to drop the class if I didn't like it.

Great teacher. Always willing to help if you ask for it. Willing to answer questions when asked and willing to clarify something when asked. Not the easiest in the world, but the fact she makes herself very accessible compensates. Don't like those online journals very much and they're easily forgotten since 95% of stuff is done in class.

Disorganized? A little, but nothing that she didn't make up for. She enjoys teaching this section and it shows. I enjoyed her class, and strangely enough her love of poetry. She has standards for her students and if you're not willing to meet them don't take her. If you love English she's a fantastic teacher to learn from.

I am in between with her. She was a tad condescending,acted a tad like she was better than you. The material was fairly easy if you studied. And, I did learn..which is what is important. Easy to understand her instruction. But just not the warm and fuzzy type.

I loved this class! She focuses a bit much on poetry, but that's because she's a poet. I got to write a short story and other fun exercises. She doesn't grade our individual writing, but a portfolio at the end. We can revise as much as we want. You have to seriously screw up to do bad in this class.

I was hoping I could take her again, but just discovered she's not teaching any class I need this semester. I heard someone bashing her because that person didn't like having to read in her class, but someone like that is a loser. Miss Patty was a great teacher. You do have to do the work; if you want to learn, take her class!

The class was interesting and organized well. She gave feedback fairly quickly and it was generally useful and understandable. She's fair and will explain things and answer questions in a quick timeframe, unlike a lot of online profs. This was one of the best online classes I've taken - I actually learned a lot and enjoyed it.

I loved the textbook we used and the discussions we had about it. We wrote about the essays in the book which were all related to environmental stuff I didn't know about before and so I learned a lot about writing as well. It was interesting and I got to re-write my papers to raise my grades.

She loves lit, and that really comes thru. U have to work, but it is worth it cause you really learn a lot. I didn't like all the things we read, but she was cool with that. Some of it I loved. She listens and we had great discussions.

This was the most organized online class I've taken, she gave feedback quickly, too, which is unusual in online classes. She made me think and helped me alot when I needed help on my paper. It really made me like poetry and plays more - i never thought much about them before.

Professor Hanahoe-Dosch was a pretty decent professor in my mind. She really does not have a sense of humor, but that's okay. Just show up to class, take notes and act like you're interested. We have about 7 online discussions throughout the semester, 2 papers and then one final research paper. I would definitely have her as my teacher again!

Yes, she's tough, but only if you aren't prepared and don't do the work. The book was interesting, and because it was themed class, the paper were interesting to write. I enjoyed this class, and I learned a lot. I can't say that about most of HACC's teachers.

This was my favorite class, ever. We got to write poems, stories, and a creative essay. She loves creative writing and it shows. She is a published writer and really knows her stuff. She helped me be a better poet and story teller. I wish I could take this class again!! Loved it!!!

It's comp 2, so it's tough, but she makes it enjoyable and helps you out. She's not the easiest teacher, but not's the hardest by a long shot, either. I learned a lot, and enjoyed the book. She does themed comp classes, so it's a bit more interesting than my 101 ones with a different prof. I'd take her agin in a heartbeat.

This course was organized well (unusual for a lot of online classes, frankly) and interesting. She gave us feedback pretty quickly (also unusual for online classes, at least at HACC) and I learned a lot. It wasn't an easy class, but it wasn't too hard, either. My sister had to do a LOT more reading than this at her 4 yr college. It was interesting.

The text was interesting and she's pretty clear about what she wants from you. Not an easy grader, but not real hard, either. Bout middle. Follow instructions and you'll be okay. Interesting discussions. I learned a lot. She doesn't let the high school double dippers give her crap, either, so we college students get a real college environment.

The class is well organized and easy to follow. she gets papers and quizzes graded and back to us quickly, too. It's a writing class, so it is what it is. But I'd take it again. I really liked the book and theme we used to write about. I recommend her to anyone.

This is one of the best online classes I've taken at HACC. The class is organized, and we get to revise our answers in the discussions. It's a lit class, so lots of reading and writing, but that's normal. The assignments were actually easy. I liked the poetry best.

She comes off as strict in person, but she is very talented and knows what good writing is. She is very helpful in giving feedback to your stories and poems. She didn't assign a lot of homework. The class was more about your progress and improving your writing, it was more on your part of really making an effort to learn and improve and expand .

I learned a lot in this class! She let us revise our papers if we got a poor grade on it, and was very understanding about a major problem I had. It was a well organized online class and she graded everything quickly, which is unusual for online classes. She wasn't easy but wasn't hard, either. If you have a question, you can ask and she'll help.

I learned a lot in this class! It's a typical online class, so you have to be organized and independent student, but she is one of the few online profs who responds quickly, gives good feedback, and is THERE. She uses a "Rubric" in grading, but also gives lots of comments. Everything is organized well. I'd take her again!!

She's a real writer - published poems and stories and books. She knows her stuff, and is also a cool, interesting person. Poetry is like religion to her. She could inspire anyone. Didn't like poetry before I took this class, but now I love it. She is awesome!! Love reading her stories and poems, too. I'm going to take a class frm her again!

This was my favorite class at HACC. She's an amazing instructor - she loves this stuff, especially poetry. I didn't think I would like writing poetry, but she changed my mind. The workshops were great - I was afraid of them, at first, but they were great. TAKE THIS CLASS FROM HER. You won't be disappointed.

This was a good class. She organized everything in a way I could understand and gave lots of materials that explained things. She got stuff back quickly and graded fairly with a rubric. This was my second time taking this course. My other teacher didn't do half what this one did. I passed with a decent grade because she answered all my questions.

This is World Lit I. It was very interesting. The class was organized well with all the material you need to pass the tests. The discussions were interesting and informative, and we could revise them to get a better grade. Prof gets back to you and is fair. You'd have to work at failing this class. I recommend this prof and the course to everyone.

I enjoyed this class. It's a literature class, and we read some interesting stuff. I learned a lot. She lets you revise your discussion answers, so it's easy to do well in those. She helps out a lot, too. I'd definitely take her again!

Every other week a creative writing assignment due, and the opposite week you had peer reviews. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE, you peer review 4-6 people. She was a really great professor and did really well with everything online to give her best feedback. I loved her. I don't think she was a tough grader either, just check grammar.

This was ENGL 116, a new course on writing poetry. It was amazing! and it was a lot of fun. I learned all kinds of things. She's really good at feedback and explaining things. I had some problems at first understanding things, but we talked and I did great after that. You do have to do the work though. This was the best online class I've taken.

This is so much better than so many other online classes I've had. The organization of it made sense. It's a lot of reading and writing, but that's true of all comp classes. The prof was good about answering emails and zooming with me to explain stuff. You have to do the work though. You'll learn a lot if you do.

Professor Hanahoe-Dosch was my toughest grader my first semester at HACC. Online classes are hard, but after meeting with her during office hours, I got on her wavelength and pulled my grade up. Lots of little assignments to stay on top of, but a great professor to get you into college writing quickly. Take the full semester course if possible.

She's a wonderful, published writer and gives great feedback. She really helped me be a better writer and inspired me to send something out to our school magazine, and it was published! I learned a lot from her.
