Very interesting lectures. She knows her material and is well prepared for class ans able tand willing to help you when/if you are struggling with an area. She is one of the best professors I have had at TCC.

me being a drop out i was nervous about my new college experience. Patty was very excited about the class she was very humerous and able to explain things so everybody could understand. she even let us make up some of the bonus questions so we could get extra points on the exams. i made a A+ in the summer semester class.

Ms. Patty is amazing! She will explain things many different ways...just to make sure that everyone gets the gist of what she is talking about. If you ever need help, you can just ask her and she will be more than happy to help you out. She wants to make sure that her students succeed! In one word I think she is WONDERFUL!!

Mrs. Smith is awesome. She is so down to earth and easy to talk to. She is more than willing to help. You can e-mail her or call her with a question and she gets right back to you with an answer. I forgot to do part of the homework on something and she let me turn it in late for full credit. Test are hard but if you study for them you will pass.

Ms. Patti is great. If you really need an A, it is pretty easy to get one in her class if you simply show up. Her lectures make every assignment a piece of cake! This southern gal has it going on!

Patty is a good instructor, she sometimes goes a little of the subject and tells you things that you do not need to know, but I think its because she really like what she is teaching. Her tests are hard.You need to study to pass them unless you are like she is and is really excited about science, then you can breeze right thru them.

Patty is an excellent teacher! She takes a fairly boring subject and makes it interesting. As stated before, you do have to study for the tests, this is not a blow off class and you will actually learn something. However, she makes it fun! Of all the teachers I have had at TCC, she is the best! You will not find a better teacher, take her!!

Great instructor! Patty Smith is extremely intellegent and enjoys teaching. She is very prompt with grading papers and tests and gets grades posted amazingly fast! She is very patient and willing to explain concepts if you are having trouble and is always available to answer questions via phone or email. Great class and I would recommend to anyone!

Been attending TCC for 3 years and Patty is the best instructor I've had. Gives main points for studying and allows extra credit. She is very nice and understanding.

Patty is an excellent teacher. She tells you exactly what you need to know and is very good at explaining things. She is more than happy to help you if you ask. She gives lots of extra credit and all the assignments end up helping you on her tests. She is fair and if you grasp the concept, she gives you partial credit. Highly recommended!!

Patty is AWESOME!!!! I had Kodesh, dropped her (AWFUL), then the next semester took Patty, what a LIFE SAVER! Take her, WC is a bit out of the way, but well worth the drive. She explains everything and is very personable!

Patty is amazing. She expains everything in detail. If you dont understand she will keep explaining until you do. Doesn't use the book much. She also tells great stories. She is very friendly, prompt on grading, and amazingly helpful. However, the class is not easy. The first week you will want to drop, but dont. I am so glad i didnt. TAKE HER!!!!

Patty is awesome! Use your objective's that she posts on blackboard, if you study that you'll Ace every test=) She's layed back, very approachable,and very interested in what she's teaching. I've learned ALOT in her class. I would definately recommend taking her class to anyone!

Patty is a very sweet person and a very enthusiastic teacher. You won't really need the text book as she uses power points for lectures. Her tests come directly off of the power points unless she adds something otherwise. She is not an easy A, but not impossible if you pay attention and study. I highly recommend her if you actually want to learn.

I loved the blended biology for majors class! Extremely clear on what to study for the test- available and very nice. Found the class very interesting. Study what she gives as objectives for each section according to her notes online and you will do well. Didn't use the book much. Learned a lot. Had to study and go to class, but made an A.

The class is difficult, but Patty makes everything very clear. Study the chapter objectives she gives you and you have the test. Always interesting, knows her stuff, and cares about the students. She wants you to succeed. Don't skip lectures and feel free to ask questions. Book not completely necessary except for clarification. Hands down the best!

Ms Patty is great! She gives you all the tools you need to know the information for the tests. She gives great assignments that actually help you learn something about the material you are going to be tested over. AWESOME...Take her if you can!

She is the best teacher ever! She knows her stuff and sometimes it can get a little boring but you would be a fool not to take her. She never uses the book for anything at all so if you want to waste $130.00 then be my guest. Furthermore, if you take her, make sure you print the study guide, aka, bff. Also, all the test questions are in the notes.

I took Patty for Bio for Majors. She is an awesome teacher, her assignments are not hard but the test can be if you don't study. Very helpful and inderstanding. If you study and make any kind of effort even if it is not the correct answer you will do fine.

Mrs. Patty is an awesome teacher! I am taking her Biology for Majors class and she is an excellent teacher. She does give a lot of work but you have plenty of time to complete it and her tests are right off her power point presentations! She is sooo nice too!

Maybe the MOST AMAZING TEACHER EVER!! she is extremely helpful and polite. She gives many easy assignments which boost your grades. The tests are hard but very managable if you study her guide. Many of the labs are fun and she always tries to make the class enjoyable.

Labs are easy and fun,her tests are hard but if you are in class and have her powerpoints you should'nt have no problems passing the tests. I would diffently reccomend this class to anyone.

What a great class. Patty is organized, available, and professional. There was tons of work involved!! But hey, if you want to learn a lot to help you in higher science classes, then this is the teacher to take. Make sure to print and STUDY the powerpoints!! Her test are hard, but her pp's are the key to success. GREAT CLASS!

She is great! You have to study for the exams. There are power points and if you study you will do fine. Patty is very understanding and gives you one free missed lab. Only thing boring was the videos.

Patty is extremely helpful and encouraging. Her outlines for tests are extremely clear, but these tests are also extremely difficult. There are numerous writing assignments which are a Godsend if testing is not your thing. She is excited about this subject and it shows. You will learn more than you can imagine. Highly, highly recommend!

Favorite Prof. by far! She is funny, nice, smart, and helpful. A lot of work but it's easy and she gives a lot of extra credit. I made 96 in the class. I would recommend her before anyone else!

If you want an easy Lab/Science class, then DON'T take one in the summer- duh! Patty is the most helpful, and one of the nicest instructors at TCC who knows a lot about her subject. She gives you wonderful outlines and great test reviews. If you don't make an A in her class, then you only have yourself to blame.

Great teacher! I had her during the summer and it was pretty easy. There was quite a bit of work for about the first month then it gets much easier!

She is awesome! Very helpful, tons of extra credit, and labs are easy. She is a very easy grader! If you do all of the extra credit for each test you can raise test score up 2 full letter grades. She truly wants you to pass. Highly recommend.

Patty Smith makes lectures interesting. You learn a lot, but it is also lot of work. Professor Smith's test are not hard if you pay attention in class and study the power points. I highly recommend this teacher if you want to grasp the concepts in Bio 1224.

This class was great and I highly recommend Patty. You get lots of opportunity for extra credit. There is a lot of material to cover but you will learn a lot and she makes it interesting and fun. She gives great test reviews and will even let you ask questions right up to when the tests are handed out. Highly recommend!!

Excellent teacher! Makes the class very interesting by throwing in a lot of Oklahoma flavor! Tests are very difficult but you must put the time in to study! There is so much extra work you get credit for that even if you bomb all the tests you can still end up well in the class! The presentation is scary but she makes it doable! Will take her again

Patty is awesome. I wish she taught all the sciences. She is very passionate about her subject. Take notes/flash cards from lectures. I finished with 108% She will also let you use an older edition of the book. It's the same material/author.

Patty is a REMARKABLE instructor! I HIGHLY suggest taking her class. You have 4 large exams, 1 presentation, a visit to the zoo, and a final! And learn Smart-hmwk. If you take notes over the power points and "STUDY" not the night before though, you will do great. She knows her stuff and LOVES it! I WOULD TAKE THIS CLASS AGAIN!!!!!

Loved this instructor. If you study off the slides she hands out, you will do well. Yes, its a lot of work but she is willing to help you. Test are hard but doable. My favorite part was the presentation that we had to give, a little hard to keep the audience's attention for 15-18 minutes but very rewarding.

I took biology 1224 in the summer with Patty. The exams come from her power points but she will literally tell you what essays etc will be on the exam. She is a fairly easy grader and a very nice person. Labs were fun and interesting. I studied a lot and ended up with 100% in the class. She is a great teacher and wonderful to work with. Take her!!

Patty is EXCELLENT! She is so passionate about this course and really makes it interesting. Her powerpoints are VERY helpful, if you study them and print out the course objectives for each exam and do those as a study guide, there is no reason you cannot make an A in this class. I have a toddler at home and still made a 100% in the class! Take her!

I took Patty for the 8 week blended summer course. She is AWESOME!! I wish she taught more classes that I needed. You do have to study your butt off, but you learn the material with here. There are 4 exams, some homework assignments, a trip to the zoo and a 15 minute power point presentation! Very rewarding class!!

AWESOME professor, loved her!!! She is super nice and understanding. Communication with her goes a long way! The tests are very hard but her class is very rewarding and labs are fun. Study and you should do fine. I would definitely recommend her class to anyone!

Mrs. Smith is a great teacher. Her labs are awesome. The only issue I had with her was her tests. her study guides are very vague and her tests cover ANYTHING she talks about in class. I made A's on all my assignments except the tests (averaged a low B) and barely got an A. You do not need the text for this class, but you will need the lab book.

Patty is super helpful and friendly. She gives you all the notes and test objectives online. We NEVER used the book. Just be warned, her tests are very difficult. I had to spend AT LEAST 4 hours outside of class studying per week. I did learn a lot and enjoyed her class! Would definitely recommend her!

I took Patty's Honor Intro to Biology blended class in the fall 2013. You definitely have to study but Patty is ALWAYS there to help. She is one of the best teachers at TCC. I never read my book. I just studied her powerpoints. I passed with an A but I had to really study. Patty will always go the extra mile to help you succeed.

This is by far the HARDEST class I have taken. Her exams are incredibly difficult, I made F's on them and I studied. She is a great teacher, and I learn a lot, but you will need to devote a lot of time to her class and tests.

This was the most hands on class I've had in my years at TCC. It was fun. We did a lot of field trips and worked on a community garden. Patty is a very knowledgeable, nice and helpful teacher. You do need to study for the tests, but just follow the study guide she provides you. I never had to use my book, just power points. Highly recommended!

Biology is one of my favorite sciences, so I poured a lot of time into this class, which probably wasn't actually necessary but was worth it. I learned a lot, and will retain that information. The tests aren't a cake walk, but if you study her outline, there isn't a really good reason why you shouldn't get an A. I did the blended 8 week course.

Patty Smith is a great Professor. Very smart! Lots of studying to be done if you want an "A". She doesn't hand them out. She is very fair with the grading though. Tests are mostly essay and some multiple choice. You have to read and study. If you don't, she will know it. I learned so much in her class. I wasn't expecting to learn as much as I did.

Took the eight week online class and it was fairly easy. Give yourself time to do the assignments and you'll be fine. She gives good feedback and is super helpful if you're confused. Her blackboard is easy to maneuver and the syllabus is easy to follow.

I took Environmental Inquiry BIOL2123 because this was the only class left for credit, but this turned out to be my absolute Favorite. plus, If you don't do well with tests then this is your class. She hands out worksheets to do weekly. There is research on your part but if you stay on top of assignments then you will do well.

Great teacher! You have small lectures, take notes!! Fun labs & experiments, very little homework but when you do, it's easy. She's very nice & fun, instead of exams she gives weekly tests, if you took notes & read them before the test, you'll get an A. Good class to take if you also have a job, not stressful & doesn't take up your free time!

I had Mrs. Patty Smith for her 8 week online environmental inquiry class. Great! actually practices what she teaches. 8 weekly assignments that require a little bit of writing but manageable. Usually complete them within a few hours. Does require some field trips and pictures. Drops lowest grade so save this for the community service project

This class had no tests so if that is your weakness then you should do fine. You have an eight-ten question (mini-essay) assignment due each week. You must cite your work. The questions aren't always clean cut as she wants you to interpret the way you will in answering them. Comprehensive and thorough is expected.

Patty is the best biology teacher: she's enriched with information. She's hilarious. Every week you have an assessment, but don't fret! They are easy, look at her handouts online and you'll do great. SUPER EASY! It's impossible to not get an A. I think she's amazing, and I would recommend her to anyone wanting to really understand biology.

I took the 8 week online biology for non-majors course. I am not good at science so i was scared. Best class i have ever taken online. Every week she would give us questions that we had to answer by Sun night, that was it! Sometimes it would be a lot of work but ALL the answers were so simple and easily found online. Easiest A ever. Ms. Smith is an amazing professor. I had such a hard time with Biology prior to her class and had to drop it. She makes learning the material easy and fun. Hardly ever have homework most is done in class. No exams you have weekly assessments so that if you do bad on one it doesn't kill you like an exam would.

I really enjoyed this class. She really gives great feedback and encourages her students to begin adopting a healthy lifestyle. If you do all the assignments and actually try then you will definitely get good grades. Engage with the teacher and will engage back. I really liked her a lot. I highly recommend.

I took the 8-week online version of Intro to Environmental Science. Super easy and every week was the same work wise. Easy A but I actually learned from her assignments. She also is very understanding and will help you if you ask for it!

Professor Smith really makes the course material interesting and easy to digest. The labs are super hands on and really help to solidify the lecture material. She is also very kind and is always willing and able to help with anything you need.

This professor is one of my most favorites I have ever taken. Botany was super fun, and going out on trails and getting to do little powerpoint presentations over trees and various plants was fun and she would grade you fairly. Her quizzes are easy and if you do not show up to lab, then do not expect to pass. You also get to take home plants!

I loved professor Smith, she is a great teacher. Beware of quizzes, those were kinda hard and some of the questions are hard and you do not go over that topic in the homework. She is very easy to contact and will respond pretty soon.

Amazing professor, very knowledgeable about botany and biology in general. Her teaching method is a combination of lab and lecture, meaning you often get the opportunity to see the material firsthand. Lots of microscopy. You will also do lots of gardening and she will send you home with some houseplants! 10/10 highly recommend this professor.

Ms. Patty was great. I took the blended course. Make sure you show up to the lab because she only hands out lab exercises in class. The "lab" time was mostly her lecturing on the material that was provided at the start of the week. Biweekly exams that cover 2-3 chapters each. Discussion posts biweekly where you have to extensively research topics.

I took environmental science online. stupidest class EVER to take online. tests over absolutely nothing relevant, but worksheet's are easy. 3 presentations total. weekly discussions. DO NOT TAKE THIS ONLINE. i got in A+ in the end, but google was my best friend. Prof Smith is the BEST tho, just not her online environ. class. :(

Frequent feedback from my papers is thoroughly explain essay questions and expand on assignment answers. Tests are only 30 minutes long and there are 18 questions on each. Loved the class.

I loved this class! Be prepared to take field trips even though it's an online class. There were 8 discussion posts, 8 case studies, 7 assessments, 1 extra credit, and 1 large project. Be prepared to research and write a lot. She provides everything needed to pass this class, including the textbook. This was my favorite class so far at TCC.

Classes are set up with lectures/labs with notes you fill out during class. Tests are every other week, and are based off the lecture notes so definitely study them! There is a case study due every other Sunday, which is just a one page research paper. She is quick to get your grades put in, and I like that she adds comments to graded assignments.

Her class is fairly easy. Show up and memorize the lab papers and you'll pass. Labs, case studies, and an assessment every two weeks. No HW or big comprehensive tests. Power Points and her lab lecture gives you all the answers for lab papers.

The assignments and activities were a lot, but thanks to the way the class was organized and communication with professor Patty was clear and concise, I was able to do just well for my first 8-week online course. The powerpoint slides on the chapters on BB were VERY helpful for the assessments. My tip is to get the outdoor activity done asap!

Professor Smith is amazing! She's very knowledgable and her labs are fun and interesting. She goes the extra mile to teach her students and provide examples. Every two weeks there is 1 case study, assessment, and lab paper due. Its a manageable class and I look up to her as a teacher and environmentalist.

This course is not for everyone. If you are looking for a traditional environmental science class focusing on generic environmental science, this is NOT it. However, if you are interested in sustainability and don't mind volunteer work, this could be a good fit. I personally liked the class and would take another class with this professor.

Stay active and you will pass. Dedicate 2hrs or less Monday - Thursday and all work for the week will be complete by Friday. Took online very easy would definitely recommend .You will have to volunteer 3 hrs for one assignment, one field trip to study the environment, I chose the gather place took my family and made it fun.

Patty's BIO1113 class is a unique experience. It's heavy on sustainability and volunteer work, which may not be for everyone. However, with clear communication and organized materials, I was able to do well. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for study prep.

I really enjoyed the general botany course! Professor Smith is such a great and passionate teacher. I have learned so much more than I thought I would. Attendance is important, and so is staying on top and aware of the upcoming and due assignments. You are set up for success in this course if you have the mindset to do so.
