My experience with Dr. Patty was definitely not as positive as many of the ones posted here. I did my homework, and emailed her questions as often as I could (since her office hours changed mid-semester). I still failed, she posted none of the grades we made in the class, and emailed days later. I found her teaching to be rushed and ineffective.

Rude to students and almost no office hours. The tests have very little partial credit and are your entire grade. As a student who has always gotten A's, this class is extremely hard.

Look, here is the thing, you will either LOVE or hate this professor. I just happened to be on her good side. I honestly thought I would dislike this professor, but I realized that with a bit of hard work and enthusiasm, it is possible to get an A. If I can do it, then anyone can. I used to be awful at chem (got a 2 on the AP test) but I made it!

She makes chem MUCH harder than it needs to be. I always felt worthless leaving her class and office hours. She insults students that struggle and expresses her emotions by throwing objects across the room or pulling papers out of student's hands. She is just downright mean. I spent hours doing homework & going to every office hour op to only fail.

Dr. Patty makes General Chemistry unnecessarily hard. She gives you twenty minutes to do quizzes which simply isn't enough time. She is extremely rude and intimidating in lecture and belittles students. She tests you on the hardest material and will make you wish you had never taken chemistry.
