Very helpful. If you do the homework and come to clas and particpate you will get an A! I failed the final and I still got and A because I just came to class and did all the assignments. He also puts everything online so its easy to track your grades which is very helpful.

I Love Prof. Scotto Di Pompeo!!!! His classes are demanding, but you have to study!!!! He will give you study guides, send text messages and emails to remind you about quizzes and tests. I didn't do well on tests but did great on everything else and got an A in the class. The best French teacher ever.

Professor Pompeo is HILARIOUS. He is absolutely the best French professor at Howard very upfront and direct so make sure you dont piss him off or say the spanish translation for a word in his class. Very fashion forward and laid back. He teaches you the current slang words in french as well as the traditional. 5 stars for his fierce self lmao.

Just do the work he assigns because it actually reinforces his lessons and the book is straight forward and easy to comprehend. The final is EASY, just keep your chapter tests and review them and you will be good. also attendance matters!

This professor has been such a help in my quest to learn french. Not a A, but I did learn a lot more in one semester than I did in 2 years of high school. The midterm is all oral, so i suggest tutoring for speaking help. The test are fairly easy as long as you STUDY, plus he gives out a review before. The quizzes are very easy, just STUDY.

His class was really fun and interactive. He didnt try and do the most meaning, have us do unnecessary work. His exams are straight forward as long as you know the content. Be on time to class, unless you will miss your quiz lolss, but overall phenomenal professor

He's always very clear. He always grades quizzes and tests in a timely fashion. My advice would be to always be on time. Check ilrn daily. Study when he says to study. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions, he actually wants everyone to do well.

Great Professor, he certainly expects a lot out of his students and is not always willing to compromise. If you are looking of an Easy A this is not the class for you, but if your looking to actually learn the language you should definitely take this professor.

I took Professor Pompéo for French 2&3 and I absolutely loved it!! He knows his language! The tests are not hard, as long as you read the material given and the quizzes were a breeze! Tests, quizzes, and homework are all done online, and they're open book/notes/friends/whatever. All he asks is that you come to class every day. Professor Scotto di Pompéo is a great teacher. If youre the type to not pay attention in class,or just not go,then this isnt the class for you because he WILL call you out. Know beforehand that it will cost about $124 for the book and online access. I missed a lot of homework because I didn't have the book.But if youre commit,youll love the class.

Prof. Paul is the best french teacher at Howard.He speaks English extremely well and does his job properly.He accepts all French vernacular. if you go to class and do you work you will do well.He acknowledges effort. pay attention when he speaks or he will get, rightfully annoyed. Had Prof. Pompeo on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and thoroughly enjoyed his class. Not only was he very thorough, he also gave us suggestions for tutoring, and suggested we join the Facebook group he set up. Best French professor at Howard! Took Spanish in HS, got an F in French my 1st semester at Howard. Waited until I was a senior to take it again and Professor Scotto di Pompéo was the best! I can actually understand French now! All exams and quizzes are online, but the final is written. So, you need to know your stuff!

The professor was extremely helpful. When learning a new topic he would literally GI around the room and ask everyone a question about the topic in French. He is also really funny, I'm upset his class if already full for next semester.

Helps you establish a very solid base in the French language and culture. Teaches you a wide array of vocabulary compiled with the correct grammar. Teaches you the difference between American and french society while learning French. I enjoyed the class and would take him again. Come to him with the right attitude and he will help you.

Scotto di Pompeo tries to get everyone to participate, and will work with you if your struggling. I highly recommend taking Prof. Pompéo for French I. You should read the chapter the night before because he teaches the class in French and only stops to clarifyrepeat something if you ASK. You will fall behind if you don't speak up when you are confused. Assessments are online but forgetting to take one will hurt your grade. Attendance matters!

He a pretty Bomb professor. if you are nice and polite to him he will do the same to you. I missed like 3 quizzes and homework which put me at 40% and he excused me from them. It's cause i was polite asl and showed him I was gonna try hard to comeback from that. I ended the class with an A too.

Everything is online, so there's no need to buy the book. The class is not hard but you can't expect an easy A. Show up, do your work, be respectful and you will have no problems. I actually submitted some quizzes late but he accepted them because I came to class and participated.
