Doc not only teaches things pertinent to class, but lessons in life as well. He is not afraid to tel students about the mistakes he has made in life in hopes that we may learn from them as he has. Only my parents (my Dad is a teacher) have taught me more.

I'm a freshman taking Paul Bauer's SOC 101 class and he's an excellent professor. The class is 3 hours long and he makes it interesting every week. I enjoy hearing his stories and his advice about life. I've only had him for one semester, but I feel like I've learned so much. Now I'm majoring in SOC

paul teaches life lessons in his class. i will carry his lessons with me in life for a long time to come. it takes a special person to be able to take a one week cram class and run it so that his students are just as interested in the material at 3pm as they were at 8 am. would recommend to anyone.

made me laugh, made me cry, taught me more than any other class ever, i will be eternally greatful to him for what he taught me and it is reassuring to see that there are still people like him out there, people who truly care

Bauer teaches much different then most professors. However, his style is straight forward and direct. I like his no "BS" approach. He makes you really wanna reach deep and do something special. He will challenge you and push you to your limits, but in the end you will be a better student for taking his class. He is also very funny and open.

I really enjoyed Dr. Bauer as a teacher. He did a very good job of relating the material to realistic contexts. He inspired my interests in the subject and motivation to do the best of my ability. I found that his teaching methods maintained my attention throughout the course. I hope to get another opportunity to be in one of his classes again.

I had Bauer for Philo and Socio. He kicked my butt senior year but it was so worthwhile. There were days I just wanted to drop his class but I stuck with it and I'm so glad I did!! He's a great person, I'm going to miss him. He definitely prepared me for LVC this fall. Oh yeah, you will fail his 1st Philo test but you're not alone-it's OK!!

Bauer has a way of teaching like no other. Rather then standing at the front of the class wearing a suit, and being referred to as Docter, he's in casual clothes saying, "between you and me..." as he looks side to side. Sometimes when he uses his own personal stories as material, you can get lost in his reverie. I enjoyed my week!

Professor Bauer is an interesting teacher. I started his class w/ the notion that he was going to be rude & vulgar, which is very untrue. He'll get in your face.. A lot. When you don't want him to, he'll do it more. Definitly picks people out that will respond to it, and he made a few people in my class cry. His tests are hard simply because you never know what he wants in them, and if you ask, he sometimes will tell you things you actually did. Nevertheless, it's an experience.

Doc's assignments aren't so much about the theories he teaches but how his students apply and observe them on a day to day basis. He is understanding toward athletes with demanding schedules for female athletes his class is cake. He's also a great coach and role model.

Dr. Bauer is very bright and funny. He keeps you interested by telling stories. He really wants you to succeed in class. Lenient with deadlines and let me make up assignments and tests. Make sure to watch your grammar as he will make you retype an essay (thankfully I never had to). Listen up as assignments can be vague in lectures. Recommended!

Most interesting man I have ever met. I look extremely forward to his class every Wen. He helps you see things from a differen't angle with out pushing pushing it onto you. Has great political views. Grips his students, and makes impact on them. It is ashame he is reitiring..

PB makes what could otherwise be a boring lecture fun. His stories are fascinating and he reaches out to make his lessons understandable on a personal level. As others have said, it really is a shame he is retiring after this semester; we really could use more people in this world with his level of passion and devotion. Have fun in Florida, Bauer!

Bauer is by far my favorite professor. I've only known him for 6 weeks, but i know I will never have a prof better than him. I was recommended to take his class, and it was the best advice I was ever given. I had no interest in psych, but Bauer changed that. I would take any of his classes, just cause he teaches it. Dr. Bauer is the most amazing proffesor I have ever had! He teaches in a way that you can not help but pay attention. He definately makes the class and curriculum interesting. I wish he taught every class that I have to take!

Dr. Bauer is the best instructor I've sat under. He is extremely intelligent. He seems sincere in his approach to education and his desire to educate his pupils. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn and stretch their thinking. He is the standard all instructors should attain. His retirement will be a great loss to CCC.
