He's a great teacher. I think he's really helpful and funny. He tries to get you interested and does his best. I definetly recomment him.

He is a goofy teacher. His class is fairly easy. He is a good guy.

Paul is basically awesome. hes quite funny, and good natured. if you can put up with his coldness and dish it back to him youre good.

Paul's a good guy. He genuinely enjoys what he does and tries to keep his students interested. He likes to pick on students, sometimes, but he doesn't do it out of spite. The class was fairly laid back. As long as you draw during class and put forth an effort, you'll probably do well.

great class! i learned alot and had fun doing it. he's really sarcastic but if you cant handle it, you shouldnt take this class.

I took him a couple year ago in San Diego, he was the best! His classes were fun and made me interested in art history. He definetly influenced me, I am now an art history major. I thought he was a smart ass but it was cool, made things entertaining, so much better than being a pompous know it all.

He is so funny. if you take him and think he is being a turd...he's just kidding. super fun guy to be around. the class requires a lot of extra lab time. many hours more than just the class hours. it is really fun. really messy :) enjoy!

Paul is a wonderful teacher, I struggled with a lot of the ceramic projects because I am just not really artistic. He is easy on the grades if he can see that you come to class and are trying to do what he has asked. He is so funny some might take it offensive but I thought it kept me coming to class.

Great art instructor. He expects a lot from his students, most of who took the class to screw around. Paul works hard for students who work hard and makes its an enjoyable class. Will take him again.

Paul is a very easy going teacher. He is very helpful!!! He does have a sense of humor and is criticizing but it's all in good fun :) The class is really challenging so unless you don't like coming into class in non-lab hours then I wouldn't suggest this course. You need to put in a lot of extra hours for your projects. He is REALLY HOTTTTT!!!!!!!!

took it online, and its very organize, get back to e-mail fast, easy to follow quizzes and test. I got A+ very easy, just do the work and read, which is very fair compare with other classes.

Paul is a great instructor. The class isnt easy, you actually have to put in an effort. Be ready to put in additional hrs outside of the class time. He has an awesome sense, you definitely have to be a little tough because he'll most likely make fun of you. I would absolutely recommend this class as well as taking it with Paul!

Mister Berger is definitely an awesome teacher. He doesn't let the loud mouth get away with anything. If you want a hip new teacher with an old school twist, then learn something new in this awesome class.

Paul is an interesting guy. He kind of has a Chelsea Handler sense of humor, meaning you are the brunt of his jokes. But its always funny. Class is easy, as long as you make an effort and follow directions you will do well.

Had alot of fun and will be taking Ceramics 2 in the fall. Sense of humor!

He is a good ceramics teacher. Requires you to think for yourself. If you pay attention to assignment requirements and show up for class you will do well. The unhappy people were the ones who weren't there enough or didn't follow the guidelines to do the assignment correctly. He wasn't unreasonable and you didn't have to be a great artist to pass.

I've had Paul for many different classes, and I am not ashamed to say that he is my favourite teacher on campus. He is clear in what he wants, he watches your efforts, & despite his humour, he loves and respects his students. If you do poorly in his classes, it is your own fault because you're either not showing up or not doing the work. Great Prof

He is a fantastic teacher but he means what he says, Its and easy A if you do your work. And it is enjoyable. But he dose not like people who think they can breeze through and do nothing. You got to earn that A!!

Great teacher. Not sorry I took this class at all. I saw a big difference in my drawing skills as a result of his help and encouragement.

I've actually taken a lot of different art classes with Paul, including online classes. He was always available (dunno why people say he wasnt) and very helpful. He wants you to succeed and he WILL push you to make you better yourself. He loves his students and he loves his job. He is a great professor, and any of his art classes are worth taking!

Paul Berger is very helpful, and nice!I had a crush on him so it made things that much better!I would recommend him becasue he makes ceramics class enjoyable.He's kinda like one of us "young folk", in the sense that he thinks on our levlel and he understands you.

This class is probably the coolest class you can take at mjc! I met so many cool people just cause Paul makes the environment chill he gives you freedom to do what you want! If you actually apply yourself you'll do we'll! Also Tj the TA is a little ray of sunshine! Befriend her and you will be so glad!

This was my first on-line class and I was leary because I do prefer in class settings. I learned a great deal of art history and about art. This because of the lesson essays and images assigned. Because of that research I will remember the material .Thanks Berger!

The class is very straight forward it is a good class to take. Remember to do the reading for the lessons and prepare for the quiz!!!! They can be very specific at times, the class is passable and you do learn a lot from it. So if your deciding whether or not to take, I recommend you do.

This was my first time taking a class from Professor Berger and it was really interesting and fun. Our final project (constructing a noise box), was probably the most frustrating project and I about through it at the wall a couple of times, but once I got it to work, looking back it wasn't so bad. Berger is a nice guy and likes to joke around.

Easiest online class ever! Assigns an exam for each chapter, rarely any essays (With online class there was only 1) and lots of easy discusions through out class. He has trouble with blackboard but he's really laid back. Read book or his powerpoints and you won't fail. Emails you back quickly and your'e never overwhelmed.

Paul is a cool guy. I don't know that anyone in the class ever called him Mr. Berger. He makes jokes for the entire class and is always there to help if you ask. His ceramics class was easy, but requires you to come in outside of class. He grades off of your personal progress for each project. Everything you make he lets you glaze and take home.

Paul is awesome. Super fun class and he's hilarious. I had no idea what I was doing when I took this class, ended up passing with an A and gaining a new hobby. amazing classroom environment I would recommend this class to anyone and definitely take paul. Trust me you won't regret it!

Paul is a great teacher! I took him for Ceramics 108, 110 and enjoyed both classes. Easy going, but will push you to do best. If you show up, put effort into projects you will pass. He has a great sense of humor, helpful, plays music in class. Wish I could take more ceramic classes with him.

Awesome professor! Was the best way to end my time at MJC. Super easy class, but really informative. The usual grading: tests (usually take 20-40 minutes), discussion posts (you post one and respond to 3 students). Accessible and quick response outside of the online classroom. Definitely take him!!!

His class is so easy u might get lulled into not reading the book and taking the test seriously. In class you learn the hands on skillsoutside of class you will need to study that textbook because he does not grade on a curve and will test on all those concepts. That said,he re-gave everybody the first test, and it was a very different one!

Mr. Berger is a cool/nice guy. This is an Easy A online class. 8 Easy/Chill discussion posts, 8 quizzes, midterm/ final questions come straight from the quizzes and one Mini page essay about your opinion on a painting. Overall easy paced class. You could get away without having the book by looking up questions online. Highly Recommend him.

Professor Berger was a good teacher. This class had 8 discussions, 8 quizzes, 1 mid term, 1 essay, and 1 final exam. I passed the class with a 90%. Quizzes were very easy. One thing to keep in mind is the instructions for discussion responses to other students are not always clear so, make sure to pay close attention or ask if you are unsure.

He is fairly easy. The semester consisted of one essay, 8 discussions, 8 quizzes, a midterm and a final. He is not strict on due dates, just so you turn it in he will give you the credit. Emails back fast when needed. If you are looking to take an easy class for credit, this is the class to take.

This class wasn't hard, but he doesn't respond to emails often... I emailed the same question and no response. I would recommend him though since this class is not difficult.

Easy online class, don't buy the book you can use quizlet and it will go a long way on quizzes and use the PowerPoints. Don't miss any assignments and beware of deadlines if you want to keep your A. QUIZLET has all the answers you need on art questions ignore you are stuck.

Easiest 3 units i've ever taken. Quizlet will help you when you get stuck. TAKE THIS CLASS.

Online class. Piece of cake. Do the discussions, take the quizzes (one chance), watch the power points. Easy A. Nice guy, wants his students to succeed.

I took Art 160 online, and the class was amazing. With a busy schedule Berger didn't overload students with busy work. All you do is read the lecture, take the quiz and do the discussion. Easy grader and wants people to succeed. Highly recommend.

He is a very nice teacher and gives second chances to the ones who deserve it.

The class projects themselves are easy. Paul gives demonstrations, shows you how to use the equipment, shows you different techniques. The projects are cool, you can put as much effort into them as you like just follow the requirements for the assignments.

I must say he is the best professor I have ever had. He makes class so interesting either its online or on campus. Its doesnt feel like you are doing a class for credits or GE because he makes the environment of the class so funny and easy. I will highly recommend this class for everyone who can take it.!!!

Easy course. Doesn't expect a lot except to read the assigned chapters and do the assignments/quizzes. But it's not difficult at all. He has a good sense of humor.

A pretty manageable class. Quizzes are weekly and so are the discussions. Had to do an essay and a few write ups here and there. Would recommend to g Art 101 out of the way fro requirements and also for in a related major. Learned new things in that I probably wouldn't have learned elsewhere.

Loved this class and signed up for Clay 2. Professor is helpul, makes class enjoyable while learning techniques. I look forward to class. It is an enjoyable atmosphere where everyone learns, converses and is helpful. Great class!

This class is really easy. As long as you do the assignments with some effort you will for sure get an A in this class. I find art super boring and it was a class I had to take but professor Berger makes the class easy to understand and not as boring as I thought it would be.

seriously the easiest class i have ever taken. do the 2-3 assignments assigned each week and you will pass with an easy A.

Great teacher responds with in 24hrs to questions, weekly quizzes weekly discussion do the work easy A enjoyed his art class very much. I would take another class with this professor again.

I really enjoyed Paul's ceramics class. He kept the atmosphere really chill and we got to make some pretty cool things. It was fun being able to learn how to throw on the wheel and how the entire ceramics process works.

Definitely one of the best professors I've ever had, he's very flexible and the class is very easy.

best ceramics teacher ever, attendance is not mandatory just get all your projects done in time. he is a big jokester and will make class as fun as possible, will always help with any project if help is needed.

Great professor! Super easy. No certain due dates but work can pile up if you wait last minute. Attendance is not mandatory but you will miss important information. The professor says lots of dark humor jokes. If catches up you can leave. Doesn't care if you leave to get coffee. LOTS of mosquitos!!!!

I took Professor Berger for Art of Appreciation and he is such a great professor. He assigns virtual fieldtrips that are actually really fun and we get to write about them. He gives us enough time to complete the assignments and I really like his PowerPoints they are very fun to read and look at the pictures. I recommend him.

Best professor ever!

Found the txtbook off of libgen (free), lots of writing assignments that are simple. Quiz answers are all from lectures/powerpoints & the midterm exam are same questions from the quizzes (similar for the final). Overall, very chill and easy class and an EZ-PEEZY-A!

Easy A. Wasn't really interested in Art so I dreaded doing the assignments. Really easy though not much effort is needed to pass with an A. Cool guy.

This was such a fun class. I loved attending class and working on my projects. My art was not the prettiest but it was so relaxing. Paul is a cool person; I recommend taking the class if you can.

He was a great teacher. Not hard grading criteria. Mainly discussion posts about art visual's given, some slides, and virtual museum visits where you picked a painting and described it in art terms which was not difficult once you read the slides given. Overall great teacher.

Easy A. Just do the weekly assignments and you'll coast through this course. The content is interesting, and unstuck study was a big help with exam prep.

He's very laid back and his lectures are quick and informative. The readings are very short with only two quick assignments a week plus a quiz. Would definitely take this guy.

Berger made me appreciate art more! His class is fairly easy, and I found the textbook online, but honestly never opened the pdf and just went off of his slides. I loved the virtual museum visits, and the papers were only one page long. A few discussion posts, but nothing to make your life a living hell. SO EASY! TAKE HIM!

The class is very easy and the assignments are not very hard. The virtual museum visits were interesting. He does ask for the textbook but you don't really need it. I used his slides more than anything else. Would recommend if you need an art credit and don't want to spend money.

This class was so easy! The workload wasn't heavy and it was not hard. You can find all the answers for the quiz/test in the book and the PowerPoints. If you just do the work there is no way to fail. We also got an extra credit opportunity worth 30 points. He is super nice!

This is a great class to take if you have other classes that may take up a lot of your time. he gives very little homework and the homework he does give is very easy and straightforward.
