GREAT TEACHER!!! The class is hard by nature, but he knows his stuff! Class is broken up into a series of (4?) tests (NOT CUMULATIVE) and a few exercises you complete on software that comes with the book (VERY EASY) you do have to study, But good clas
Mr. Billings is a top teacher. He knows his stuff and makes the class very enjoyable. I am a Psych major and am taking his Soc 101 class as well.. Mr Billings.. I give you a thumbs up!!!
Professor Billings is a very knowledgeable and fun instructor. He makes the class fun and he gives out two xtra credit assignment each semester. The homework is also easy, there just small assignments that will only take you 10 minutes to complete. NO ESSAY'S IN HIS CLASS!
Such an awesome instructor that I took him for sociology after I had him for psychology 101. He gives great lectures and makes the class enjoyable and fun to take. Work is real easy in the class, take good notes and you will ace the tests in the courses. Hardly any homework, and it is easy. TAKE PAUL BILLINGS!!!
Prof. Billings was a great teacher. He made the class interesting and easy to follow. Homework assignments are very simple. If you take good notes, you'll ace the exams. Its kind of hard not to pull off an A or at least a B in this class. Take this professor if you need a psych. credit!
Introducing the BEST Psychology instructor! Very few and simple homework assignments, crystal clatiry, loves what he teaches and a fun guy to be around. Easy, and great course. I plan on taking him for Soc 101 also.
Very knowlegable. Loves the subject and explains things very thouroughly. Fun and informative class. Take good notes and you'll do good on the tests.

he's agreat,cool teacher!~
He is awesome
Professor Billings is one of the coolest guys ever! He looks like hippy, but don’t let that fool you. He is a great teacher and his class is so much fun. You MUST take notes because your notes are your study guide for the tests. You grade consists of threes test and five homework’s. If you show up to class, take notes, study and do your homework yo
Dedicated, enthusiastic, informed teacher. Respectful of students. Most of test comes from class notes. Fun personality. Would recommend to anyone. Clear about class requirements which, if met, make for an A in the course.
He is an awesome teacher, i had a great time in his class. I actual looked forward to going to his class. I learned a great deal in his class. I am actually changing my degree because he made me intrested in Psychology. He is very intresting and extremely helpful. I would take his class again if i had the chance.
Awesome teacher in every way. His teaching is very clear and explains things brilliantly with all kinds of "student interaction" analogies. As long as you take notes, you'll pass the class with flying colors. Everything for every test is in the notes. Take his class even if you don't need to, you won't regret it. =)
We had 2 exams and 2 assignments. I love positive psycology.
He is a great teacher and obviously loves what he is doing. He enjoys interacting with the students and getting the entire class involved whenever possible. As long as you take notes and pay attention, you will do well in this class. I highly recommend this teacher.
Paul Billings rocks. Deffinately one of the best teachers i have ever had. Notetaking skills are a must. I am confident ANYONE COULD GET AN "A" if: you show up, take good notes, pay attention and participate!!!!Studying exams doesnt hurt either. I always looked forward to his class. Hes way cool, easygoing, and smart as hell. I cant reccommend this
Took this over summer, although he looks pretty laid back, he is still demanding, you do have to study in order to do well on the tests. but he is very helpful!
Awesome professor.
best teacher i have ever had....hands down.
Paul Billings is the best teacher I have ever had in my school career. He knows his material VERY well, he's experienced in his field. The class is completely fulfilling, fun, and very educational. I wouldn't recommend anyone other than him, and I'll be taking him for all the classes I can! He's that great.
He is very informative and makes sure you know the material before the exam. I don't recommend being absent because he doesn't repeat notes! He is fun and shows his personality. He is over all a pretty grate teacher.
Paul's sociology class has abosolutley nothing to do with sociology!! He spends every class talking about his opinions, how he disagrees bush and fundamental chiristian groups. Being in his class angered me more than anything. Even tho I agree with him on some topics he wastes class time with opinions and no facts!
I wouldn't take any other professor for this topic. Paul is amazing and knows his stuff. He applies real world knowledge to his lectures and doesn't suprize his students with material on tests that wasn't covered in class. He is very laid back and relatable to his students. I would highly recomend this teacher
Great teacher, very interesting and down to earth. If you take good notes and study them/do the assignments, there is no reason not to earn an A
Mr. Billings is a great teacher. He is really humorous. I promise, every class will have you laughin Great at explaining tough concepts. Today was basically the last day of a lecture class and I was extremely sad. I would love to take him for another class. It you are looking for that fun,easy-going, and INFORMATIONAL teacher, Billings is your guy!
What a great teacher! He makes this class so fun. I would definitely recommed to any student. He teacher several classes ranging from SOC and PSY so take him. Oh yeah, and he uses a lot of examples in class, and uses students names, so dont get offended, have fun with it!
mr.billing, is great i am now in his class and have not missed a class so anyone looking to learn and have fun at the same time must take he is great!
Excellent professor.
Paul's the best professor I've had in college. He knows his subjects well & teaches them well. He doesn't digress like other professors. He always has examples that relate concepts to the students, always offers help & welcomes questions. His tests EXACTLY reflect his lectures,& note-taking is EASY. You're missing out if he's not your professor.
Paul is the coolest teacher i had fall semester. he is really helpful and when he explains things he uses examples that everyone can relate to. hes tests are pretty easy if you take all the notes in class and pay attention. this was a cool class and hes a great teacher.
Point blank, I would recommended him to anyone. He is the greatest! He knows the material like the back of his hand. Take Paul Billings...It will definitely be worth it!
Completely fascinating. Class flies by for me. He's really great at explaining material and very thorough. Always makes himself available to answer questions and assist in any way he can. As long as you study for the tests and complete the simulations your grade should be fine. Haven't missed a class yet and have no plans to do so! Paul is great!
Mr. Billings is awesome! He is extremely entertaining, knows the material, explains it very well and uses really good examples that helps you understand the subject. You have to take good notes though, the tests are based off of his lectures, but it's a fun class
paul is the best teacher ive had fall semester. he really knows how to relate whats being taught so you can understand it better. he makes the class interesting. his exams are pretty straightforward and the notes he writes are your study guide as well..so if you are good at taking notes you should do fine.
Mr. Billings is an awesome professor. He makes the class fun and his lectures are crystal clear. Make sure you take notes because his exams are based on his lectures notes. He's willing to help his students learn by using easy to understand examples. Plus, he has a really cute smile.
He was the best teacher I have had since I've been in school. As long as you go to class and take notes you will not have a problem with this class.
Great teacher! He keeps class fun and interesting. There are no study guides given out for the exams, but as long as you pay attention, you will pass. Would recommend anytime.
Good guy - strict in being very structured in how he handles his class. Gives great examples that really help to understand theories. Summer class was a liile intense but I reaaly enjoyed it. The guy knows his stuff. P.S. - No texting or phones!
He was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. He gave fantastic examples that really helped me learn the theories. He's the best professor I've had. I'd definitely recommend him!
He kept the class very fun with class discussions and used very good examples when lecturing. He was always available if you needed help before or after class and was quick to answer emails. He's very strict when it comes to cell phones and ipods, so make sure you turn them off before entering his class.
awesome teacher. billings is a major hippie, easy going, makes jokes, and fun. assignments are accepted as long as they are on his desk before he leaves class. only a few assignments and tests, other than that no hw. tests are the hardest but as long as you take notes in class you will be fine.
I've taken his class for pys101 and now soc101 he's a great teacher...very funny and informative about his subjects. His tests are hard but if you study and pay attention in class you'll do fine...hw is projects that he gives out. attendance is crucial for notes. overall i recommend him to any student.
I took him for 101 and currently taking him for 203, he is a great person and very involved with his students, he has the commitment down, when i comes to learning. He is very funny, and not a boring teacher, i leave his class with a smileo n my face, Fantastic professor, take him u will enjoy the class and also you will learn a great deal from him
he was one of the best teachers i have ever had. explain everything EXTREMELY well. very kind, very funny, just simply amazing!!
Great Teacher Show up to class take notes and you will get a good grade. Exams based on in class lecture/notes. Gives plenty of warning for essay questions
excellent Professor! Very knowledgable and makes learning about the mind fun and interesting.Never have I laughed so much in a class, and still gotten so much out of the lecture at the same time. His class is really fun, but it is not easy by any means, and his tests require you to know the material, but his lectures are crystal clear, take good note
This is a really good professor. I looked forward to every class, he always kept things interesting. He is also really funny. The exams are easy, there are three you just have to study. he's extreamly helpful, he has no problem helping you understand something. I would recommend him to anyone!
Nice guy, simple and fair grading. Do the work & pass the test and you get the grade you deserve. The lectures are straightforward. The only thing is he seems a little arrogant sometimes.
Very good class. Teacher is very clear in lectures and makes it fun and generally the class is enjoyable. Never gets old coming to his class. Recommended for anyone taking a PSYC 101 course.
Prof. Billings is AMAZING! I am currently taking his psych 101 class on tues/thurs. Everyday is the same thing-be to class on time (to the minute), take notes, laugh and have fun, leave. Tests are directly from notes and he even tells you the essay question(s) up front. LOVE LOVE LOVED HIM! :]
fun & exciting
Very helpful but tends to focus on the men in the class. Makes to many depression jokes, he is a teacher not an analysis. I still recommend this teacher.
He is smart, helpful, approachable, funny and uplifting. Great instructor! Want more of his classes
He is a very good professor that I had by far explain everything in detail. What he lectures is what is exactly on the test.
Absolutely enjoyed this class! Professor is always on time and very knowledgeable. Do make sure to never miss a class because you never know when he'll give away useful tips for an essay question.
This professor is so amazing that I came back here JUST to comment on him again, 3 years later. He is the best professor and teacher I believe I've ever had. He explains his subject brilliantly, makes note-taking easy, has clear expectations, and challenges without over-stressing. I couldn't ask for better in a teacher.
Really good.
If there were words better than excellent I would describe Prof. Billings like that. He exceeded my expectations so much!. I've taken 2 psy 101 classes before, but his class was easy, and no term paper required. My advice to you is to get a recorder because all of the test questions will come from the lecture notes.
Bilings is fabulous!! One of the best teachers yet in my entire college career. Get to class, take the notes (he's specific about what you need) study and you'll do well. His lectures are great and class participation is fun! 2 thumbs up!
Oh my gosh, I absolutely love Paul! He's such a great, laid back professor. You DO definitely have to come to class everyday, because all of the tests are based on the lecture notes, which he makes very clear. If you study those notes you can't possibly fail, and you'll have a great time as well. Take him!!! :)
He's an amazing teacher, seriously funny. Japanese is my world but he made Psychology by far my favorite class. You have to be there to take your own notes if you even hope to pass the tests, but you won't want to miss a class. He uses students as examples so you cannot be easily offended.
Bring a laptop, he talks a lot but it's absolutely never boring. There are a few professors/teachers in a student's life that will make an impact and he's definitely one of those. Definitely take him.
great professor, but teaches a very complex subject, and teaches it fairly in depth. It is a very informative class, and is nice to understand the basic workings of the brain and human behavior in general.
All the other reviews are spot on. Great professor, and the class I miss the most. It was a blast, learned a great deal, and came out with an A...thanks Professor B, you da man!!!
I took Paul in the Fall 2010 semester and I still think he is one of the best teachers at CSN. He is VERY friendly and SUPER interesting. He definitely knows what he's talking about and he always explains every concept very well. Definitely consider taking his class. You will not be disappointed. Everyone who takes his class absolutely loves him.
I have taken him for three classes now. Great teacher, really knows his material. Teaches in a way anyone can understand. He makes the greatest analogies and stories to explain things. Very helpful.
I have honestly enjoyed his class! He is a great teacher who explains everything to you, so that you understand it. His exams are all from class notes, but the notes are extremely clear! There are no papers due, and homework were on simulations from off of the cd-rom that comes with the psychology book. Interesting class and great teacher!!
Supper hard class, if psy isn't your major don't take this class. There are easier teachers you can get if it's just for a pre-rec.
i took the online class, assignments were read the book, do the tests on the cd, and post your weekly essay on the class forum. the class was then to critique other students essays. there was no input from the teacher. again this was an online class and may not be indicative of an in person lecture
Billings is one of the best teachers I have ever had. The way he lectures is remarkable because he never messes up. He makes it so easy for you to write the notes he wants you to write so you can dominate on the tests. If you want a high quality professor, he is the one.
Paul is a great teacher. gives a lot of info in a short time, would not take this during summer because its very fast pace. he's very informative. TAKE NOTES, study them and show up to each class and you will get an A.
Prof. Billings is probably one of the best teachers I've had. Show up, take notes, memorize your notes and you'll get an A. He makes the class fun and interacts with you instead of just lecturing. Wish he taught other classes I have to take.
seriously the best professor i've ever had. i've never felt so welcomed in a class and i've never been more willing to attend class that wasn't mandatory. it was a lot of fun and easier to understand.
A nice, funny teacher and explains things very well. If you don't understand something he does over it slowly without making you feel like an idiot. He has tons of opportunities to get help and get extra credit. So, if you show up for class every week you should easily get at least a B.
The textbook is helpful, but if you take notes and listen to the discussion, you don't need it. What you do need is the CD ROM because that's how you're doing the homework. Set a reminder to do those cause he doesn't remind you when they're due. Use the syllabus. 3 Tests, 20 HW, 1 EC. Don't skip class! You'll regret it when the test comes. Have Fun
Don't miss class or else your grade will pay the cost! This class was amazing, tests came from notes and didn't need the textbook at all, you do need the CD it comes with for HW. Great professor.
I enjoyed this class very much. Although I took the course online, I still understood the material due to P. Billings clarity and communication with the students and student questions.
Would not have passed Statistics if it weren't for Billings. I struggle with numbers and math very much - but he explains it in a way that makes it less intimidating. Record lectures (if necessary), take good notes, read the chapters, DO THE PROBLEMS. Attendence = mandatory. Quiz every week. Exam after every 2-3 chapters.
I don't care where you come from, what language you speak and what you eat, but if you have an opinion for Professor Billings, I (and I am sure anyone who has ever taken any of his class) will have an opinion for you. Absolutely the very best at what he does, and absolutely the very best for any student. Take him. Period.
I have never understood a teacher better than I did Professor Billings. He gives great examples and always answers our questions. He takes the subject and puts it into easy to learn lectures. LOVE HIM ! He is hilarious. You do have to take good notes and make sure you read the syllabus for when the online hw is do, which is super easy and helpful!!
THE best teacher I've ever had. Explains everything and gives great examples so it is crystal clear. Encourages questions and he loves class participation. Only thing is you NEED to be a good note taker. Only 3 exams(will be hard if you don't take good notes) and homework from CD-ROM. he's a very cool dude, I wish all my teachers were like him.
This teacher is excellent. I took him for Psy 210 and Psy 240. He takes the time to explain things if you do not understand them. He knows his stuff and makes it very understanding. Just do the work and you will pass. He is always willing to help and doesn't make you feel like an idiot. I highly and strongly recommend him. Great since of humor!
Great professor, sometimes the concepts are a little difficult to grasp but he takes things very slow which is very helpful. There are weekly quizzes, 4 exams, and a good amount of extra credit.
One of the best professors I've ever had, period. Extremely helpful, cares about his students, both academically and in general. The class is not easy, but Paul gives you every chance to succeed and is willing to work with you.
Took Paul for 210 as well. Like I said, one of the best professors I've ever had. His classes are reading-intensive, but not too heavy. Paul gives you every chance to succeed and is extremely helpful. Really cares about the success of his students. Extremely funny as well! Loved his classes.
I thought Stats would be a living nightmare, but Paul made me enjoy the class. Stats turned out to be my favorite class that semester. The math is not difficult (I am not good at math!), it's just how you learn the steps to utilize the math that most people get stuck on. Test per 3 chapters, non cum. Small group equation practices once a week.
Loved his class very helpful and helps if you do not understand the material. three exams and three quizzes in between each exam. study for exam because they can be difficult if you do not study.
This class is difficult if you aren't good at math. Attendance is required. Weekly quizzes. Few tests. No homework, just read the book. Take notes. This professor is very helpful and will constantly remind you to ask for help if you need it.
Awesome professor. I took all the classes he offered. Very engaging. He made every class interesting and fun.
He is simply the best professor at CSN. Engaging. Passionate. And hilarious. TAKE HIM!
Very funny guy. He makes hard to understand concepts easy to understand by relating them to real life problems. Oh he likes to say his exams are hard when in reality they are VERY easy just study and listen which is easy because you'll be entertained. TAKE HIM!
YOU MUST TAKE HIM!! I failed stats before and now that i take him i have no clue why?!?!? He makes the information seem so simple... You have to go to class everyday, you don't want to miss the notes and you need the book.. He's hilarious and makes boring stats EASY to understand! He's awesome!
He makes this course fun and interesting! If you don't study you will fail for sure but he makes it very easy, just show up and yes! Take notes! Best professor I've had since beginning school!
Great teacher. Makes the subjects really easy to understand. do the work. the tests are from his lectures in class not from the book. you do need the book for homework but i would reccomend just sharing with someone because its not worth it to just buy for yourself. he takes attendance.
Very straight forward, books is a must have and a must read. We worked on problems from the book. If you skip on class, then you loose the simplicity and clarity he offers. I recommend this class and his PSY 210
I received a C because I am not good with math. However, Paul is very helpful. Book is mandatory and so is attendance, thats if you want a high grade. There was a test and a exam per every 2 chapters or so. I recommend Paul for his PSY 240 also
Took his accelerated 6-Week Psychology course online so I can only speak from that perspective. Overall though, I thought that the class was easy, but it was also time-consuming. Assignments were given through a secondary site and discussion posts on Canvas were also assigned. I would definitely recommend his course, just be prepared to work.
Paul does an amazing job teaching stats. He breaks it down so that it is not hard. He does require you to be on time and attend every class. He makes it fun tho. I actually looked forward to go. I would definitely recommend taking his 210 class
Paul is the greatest teacher I have ever had. His lectures are fun, but also very informative. He is always helpful and prepares you well for the exams and essay questions. I would definitely take one of his classes again!
Hands down the best professor i have had in my three years of college thus far. Insightful, caring, concise and makes the driest parts of psychology interesting and engaging. Makes you work for the grade, but if you take notes, and read the book, you will have no problem and will definitely enjoy coming to class daily.
Paul Billings is an amazing teacher! He's very interactive and all of his material is clear. He is the best psychology teacher on campus. All of his tests and homework are directly from the the lecture in class and textbook. I definitely recommend professor Billings ! Great guy.
I really enjoyed coming to class everyday, becuase he made it interesting! All of the tests are based off the notes given, so if you study those and do the online homework there is no reason you should not get an A.
Professor Billings is the guy people go to college to learn from. Exams are based on lecture. Just go to lecture, take notes, maybe 1-2 pgs, do your 1 hour per chapter homework and look over your notes before exams. No research papers. This is a class for learning and understanding not memorizing terms.
attend class, weekly quizzes, 4 exams. and extra credit. very helpful teacher. I would recommend taking.
Don't skip classes if you're looking for an A. He gives great detail during his lectures that appear on the exams. Keep up with the homework too! Assignments are 5 points each, but if you keep skipping it'll add up. Didn't do much reading out of the book but he refers to it sometimes during lecture. Mostly used notes from lecture for assignments.
Paul Billing is a great professor. He is there to help you when you ask. His lectures are clear. He tells you what he expects on exams (no curve balls). It is not an easy class. Must attend class to understand material. Paul will work with you. Thank you Paul!
Pretty much this class is very easy, as long as you do all the discussion, assignments, and test you should get an A. Plus there's an extra credit assignment. He is available right away if you get stuck on anything. And gives excellent feedback on your posts. Mr. Billings is amazing I recommend you take his course. Online for me I have 2 babies.
Loved this online class! Billings gave great feedback and his discussions were always interesting and helped you to reflect within. You use Canvas and Aplia, so definitely get the book with the Aplia code. You can read the chapters online when doing assignments, but I liked having the book in front of me. One fun extra credit assignment too!
Great teacher he is respectful and willing to help if need be.
Tests and exams were extremely tough for me! So many memorizing!!!!!!! This teacher tries his best with topics and goes at an appropriate rate. I ended with a D and have to retake it because his tests and exams so hard. I like how he explains things but not sure if I would take him again.
Mr. Billings tries to make class interesting when he can. He tries to help students all he can and will check over your essay questions and tell you if they need something added. If you read over your notes you will pass the tests with an A. The tests are like midterms where after that test is done, you do not need to remember the chapters.
Best college professor I ever had. His lectures are long but he makes them very interesting and fun. Online homework for every chapter. For exams just study your notes and comprehend your notes and you WILL be good. Punctuation and complete sentences are required for essays. Listen to his examples, sometimes he uses them in exams.
Paul Billings is the best professor I've had by far! Offers a lot of help. Is easy to get along with and is hilarious during lectures. Homework isn't bad at all. Tests are easy if you study. Would definitely take his classes again.
Very fun environment, the tests weren't hard as long as you study or at least read over your notes before the test. I don't think there was a day where I didn't laugh in that class. He's very clear and gives great examples. Attendance is STRONGLY recommended, but not mandatory.
Professor Billings is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I took stats with him. I was afraid of taking that class at first because I've always thought math wasn't my strong point but Paul made it super clear to understand it even became my favorite class. There are many quizzes but they're not hard as long as you're there for class.
Statistical Methods with Billings was by far my favorite course, which I feel is really saying something for Billings since stats is typically a dry subject. It was very enjoyable and he walked through the steps slowly and thoroughly enough that it was second nature. It's really not that hard of a class. There are just a series of small exams.
Paul gives great lectures, he's to the point so if a student decides to give a personal story or get off the subject he is good at keeping on track. a homework assignment every week. tests are little difficult, he's really cool. don't say anything dumb. he even offers help to have better studying habits. he takes attendance.
I was absolutely terrified to take stats!! I went with Mr. Billings based on the reviews from this site, and I am so glad that I did!! He is very fair and straightforward. The class is fast paced, but not out of reach if you study, I studied hard!! If you are afraid of the math, don't be, he uses a great book that has a math review built in.
He made psychology so much more interesting than I remember. You'll need the book, don't text in his class, show up and pay attention, do weekly homework, and look over your notes as he hints at what'll be on tests. He doesn't force participation but once he knows your name be prepared to be used in his lecture examples. I would take him again.
I loved Paul's classes! I took him for 240 and 210 and he was great! Very good at explaining things, goes chapter by chapter, and the quizzes really helped for the tests. Actually uses the book for problems, but his lectures are way better than reading. He is also clear in what he expects, no confusion. I would recommend him for any psych class!
He is great and his exact lecture is on the tests
Paul was great! He made you feel so comfortable. Lectures were done so well. Extremely helpful when it came to understanding the concepts and also helped me with choosing an academic plan for myself. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Will be taking him next semester for Psych 210.
Participation matters. Lecture every other day, and then a quiz that follows the day after the lecture. 4 tests. Doesn't assign homework, but I advise you to practice unless you are really that confident in your math. Willing to help you if you are having trouble. He made the class very enjoyable, would love to take him again.
Paul was by far one of my best professors ever. He really wants you to do good and helps you out with what ever he can. This class is not to hard. Show up for all his lectures, review your notes, practice and you'll pass. Compared to other level math courses this is simple, it's the terminology and math that make it challenging. I'm no genius!
I took Paul Billings in the fall of 2016 for psy 210. He was a great professor! Hes very funny too. Just make sure you understand what the formulas mean because that is very important, otherwise youre just calculating random numbers! His weekly quizzes are very helpful for what to know for his exams. Bring your calculator and participate in lecture
Doesn't rely on online discussion boards and prefers a more traditional approach to teaching. Lengthy but great detailed lectures. No homework besides a few simple projects. Great personality and funny guy. Have taken two of his courses, would love to take more! highly recommend taking any of his classes.
Mr. Billings is a really great professor. I read the book, so I was disappointed when I came to class the first week and saw that he doesn't teach from the book often. He does, however, condense the chapters so much that you basically do learn the big picture stuff which I think tends to stick with people years later. I would take him again.
I was very hesitant to take this course because of obvious reasons, but this professor really made it easy to understand the material. His lectures are very thorough and to the point. There is a quiz every week and four exams. He doesn't assign hw but I would recommend you to do so, it really helps. Bring a calculator and participate in class.
Professor Billings is an amazing professor. By far one of my favorites so far! His lectures are straight to the point and he wants you to understand the material! Always feel free to raise your hand to ask questions. Lecture one day, quiz the next. Study what's at the end of the chapter and learn the formulas!! Would take him again!
Professor Billings is very passionate about his job and will take the time to explain anything you have questions/concerns about! He has office hours as well, I recommend to take advantage of that if you want some study tips or additional questions. The book is required along with the access code to do the hw. Study, do the hw and you'll do great!
I absolutely loved taking his class! We cover a lot of things within one lecture, but he explains everything so well. He gives 12 easy online chapter quizes which just covers what we talked about in the previous chapter, and 3 exams that cover specific chapters. There is no Final Exam. Also, no notes allowed during exams. Great Professor!!
He is my absolute favorite professor. His lectures are anything but boring. While this class in information heavy, he addresses everything and is always willing to work with a struggling student.
I've taken his 210 and 240 classes and both were lovely. Really enjoy the energy of the professor, and he very clearly presents information. He appears to be quite knowledgeable of the subject he is teaching. He doesn't make lectures too boring, and tries to be more personable. Not a harsh grader. Very helpful if you don't understand something.
I think psych 210 in general is a difficult but with some studying and professor Billings informative lectures it wasn't all that bad. He is very caring and wants you to do well. If you are struggling, he is more than happy to help you out. He is by far the best professor i have ever had!!! I have taken him for 101, 240, and 210. Take his classes!!
Professor Billings is one of my all time favorite teachers! I took him for both 210 and 240. You can tell he really enjoys teaching and wants you to learn. He will go out of his way to help you understand anything you aren't quite getting and will provide great feedback on assignments. There's extra credit available as long as you show up for class
It wasn't an extremely difficult course. I wish the time for the tests were a little longer but other than that, everything was fine. I'd definitely take his class again.
Class is not something you want to miss. Billings is really good with his teaching methods. One quiz every week and 4 exams. The course starts of easy but does get more difficult. ASK QUESTIONS and pay attention and you should do great.
I was given many horror stories about stats, but let me tell you, there is nothing to be afraid of if you take Professor Billings class. He is very helpful and cares about his students. He made learning stats fun! There is a quiz the class after a lecture. I never used the book because his lectures was all I needed. He is a great guy and teacher!
He is an amazing teacher. Always willing to help explain any problems you have. I have taken him two semesters now, and I would take him again if I could. Everything you learn is from lectures, so showing up to class is a must.
Amazing amazing professor! He makes everything so much easier. Makes his students feel comfortable and welcomed. If he could be my professor for all the classes I have to take in the future, Im sure Ill ace all of them. 11/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!
Great teacher! Do the problems at the end of each section and study notes from lecture and it should be no problem. He's really good at making statistics easy to understand.
Statistics is usually a class that most people dread. However, Paul is an amazing professor and really cares about his students. Willing to help whenever you need it. You will have to have good attendance in order to pass the class because you need to understand his lectures. Quizzes every week and 4 exams easy class to pass if you pay attention.
Paul Billings is such a character. He makes tedious subjects enjoyable and easy to understand. I strongly recommend to take him for any psych course.
Pretty easy.I got over 100% but be prepared to read. There is homework after each chapter that you read, and you are able to do that up to two times. Then you have one discussion post per week, as well as two replies to classmates. Lastly, a test at the end of each week. Oh and one extra credit opportunity. Take notes and you'll do great.
Ready for a challenge? This professor is the way to go! He cares about his students and understands that lectures are long and boring so he will crack some jokes to lighten the mood. Get help when you need it! Pay close attention, read the chapters, ask questions, study hard and you will pass!
Paul is an amazing professor. He is a very thorough in his teaching. There should be no reason why you cant ace his class. The material can be difficult but you will walk you through. Participate and ask questions
Amazing professor. This class is challenging so come prepared to study, but he makes it very manageable. He walks you through everything until you feel comfortable. Grading consists of weekly quizzes and 4 exams, no homework no midterm or final. Exams are curved. Also gives extra credit at end of semester. DO NOT miss class you will regret it.
I am in my final semester of college and Paul is truly the best professor I have had for the entirety of it. I wish I could take my entire undergrad psych requirements w/ this man, he's that great of a professor. I took him for 101, research methods, and stats and his way of teaching just genuinely clicked with me. Take this professor if you can!
This was my first online class. I must say it was absolutely amazing! He engages in the online class and really helped me to understand what I was doing. Overall, I felt more confident in his way of teaching. I would take him again!
This class was fun! I took an 8 week online course, not too overwhelming. We go through 2 chapters a week and watch some fun videos. Very fascinating class, and this professor had good material. Both book and access code are mandatory (rent book on amazon and access code from amazon for cheaper rates)
This was my first online course and it was great! There is lots of homework but it easy if you do your reading. Also, he gives great feedback on discussions and it is very encouraging. I would definitely take him again.
I took the 8 week online class and didn't really learn anything about psychology even though I was looking forward to it. Each week there is a discussion post that you have to do and chapter quizzes that are easy to do. He gives good feedback to your discussion posts but other than that, it was an okay class.
The best Professor! He may seem a little intimidating at first, but hes very caring. He explains everything so well. He is always willing to help and further explain things. He gives weekly quizzes that are easy. No homework, but you need to study. Not an extremely difficult subject. Lecture heavy but he makes them fun!
I took the online 8 week course. You need the book and access code for the homework. There were 2 chapter homework assignments each week and 2 exams to cover each half. Also, there was a discussion you needed to participate in each week. He offered extra credit once. I wouldve gotten an A if i didnt miss 2 homework assignments. Overall easy prof
I took Professor Billings for Spring 2020 and the first 8 week online course. I would recommend him to anyone. He is very organized, good constructive feed back, and gives an extra credit assignment. Overall his class was very enjoyable and I found him to be a very caring and helpful instructor.
guys is one of the best professors for psychology courses, i had the misfortune of going into two different 240 research classes; both professors had no clue how to teach the class and the work, demands were unreasonable granted they didn't know how to teach; so, i dropped both. trust me when i say, take pleasure he is here and enjoy his classes.
Paul is a very interesting professor. He's really good at explaining things to his students during his lectures, the book isn't hard to read, and the tests are not hard if you study for them.
One of my favorite professors! So glad I was able to take him for stats. He makes it so easy. He gives 1 quiz per week covering a single chapter and a test every few chapters. They're open note quizzes and tests (when taken online at least). He's great at explaining things and is a genuinely good guy. Plus, lots of freedom! The homework is optional
The best Professor ever! He handled the online/covid situation very well. The subject itself is very understandable and not hard at all. No homework. I wish he could teach all of my classes! I also took his PSY 210 class, and it was great!
I took his 8-week Psy 101 class and it was pretty simple. If you do the reading and the homework you will do just fine. He was a really great professor. Would definitely take another one of his classes if given the option.
Took his Psy 101 class which was an 8 week and the class was fairly easy if you read the text book. Great teacher would take his class again (:
Prof. Billings is an amazing professor. I didn't think I would do well in Statistics at all, but yet he made it fun and very understandable. I wish I could have taken his class in person. His lectures were so fun to watch and he made me laugh numerous times. Very helpful and gives good feedback. If you gotta take Statistics, take Paul!
I took his 8 week course online (accidentally) and passed with an A. The 8 week course was a LOT of work/quizzes, as long as you’re on top of it you’ll pass with flying colors. If you take the 16 week course it should be a lot easier and less assignments. Take the class! Believe me I just got out the USMC haven’t done school in 4-5 years!
Very tough class, GREAT professor! 26 tests total (13 chapter quizzes, 8 unit exams, and 5 comprehension tests). Take extensive notes of his lectures (on YouTube), watch them again, then again. Make sure you understand EVERYTHING! Email him, he'll do a tutoring session with you. One extra credit, lots of points. Grades are curved. No midterm/final.
Honestly, I only got a C+ because I didn't put in my all and math isn't my most vital subject but professor Billings made it easy to understand. I loved taking his class he will do a tutoring session with you if you ask for one and literally will help you understand, he wants you to do good! Very kind guy and funny. Do the extra credit helps alot.
Super easy course. I took the 8wk term. One discussion post a week, about 5-8 quick assignments a week, and about 3 quizzes a week. It sounds scary but they are extremely easy if you read the textbook. Everytime he grades my discussion posts, he gives very helpful feedback. I 100% recommend this professor if you need to take this course.
Prof Billings' lectures are very easy to absorb and they are on YouTube so you can put them in 2x speeds w/ captions. He is very knowledgeable and will not make student life difficult. His class is very manageable and his assessments are very similar to the practice problems.
the class was super easy but i didn't feel like it was beneficial at all and i don't think i learned much. easy A, but not a good class if you want to feel fulfilled.
Professor Billing's class was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. You do a discussion post every week and reply to two peers, 2 chapters and assignments on that per week on MindTap (online textbook), there are 5 quizzes, and there are quizzes on each chapter on MindTap. It is a lot of homework but very manageable.
class was rarely taught by the professor, it's all on cengage. Grade determined by mindtap assignments worth 5pts each, first week had about 25 assignments due. For a summer class, thought the amount of work he assigned was ridiculous. get the busy work done on time the class should be easy, just don't take this class if you actually want to learn.
I just recently finished Professor Billing's class (a four-week summer course). He's a rather friendly guy and was really helpful during the first week. However, keep in mind that this course is VERY, VERY basic. Honestly, most of what's covered feels like common-sense psychology. I was hoping for a bit more for a collegiate-level course.
Professor Billings' PSY101 class is a manageable online course. With weekly discussion posts, quizzes, and assignments, it's doable if you stay on top of the textbook readings. unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool alongside other resources.
I loved taking Professor Billings' course this semester. I took the Psych 101 eight-week online course and it was really easy to follow along with. The online textbook and program made it very clear what assignments to do, and what specific material to study.
8-week. 15 Chapters, 2 a week. (246pts)8-10 quick easy HW with short videos and 4-5 multiple choice questions. (300pts)15 Cengage quiz that you must read for. (160pts)8 Discussion posts, 2 peer replies. (50pts) 5 easy assessment quiz. (10pts) Syllabus Quiz. 766 Total pts. Easy and you can work ahead except for discussions. One extra credit.
I took an 8wk psy101 course and it was super easy. This class does use cengage/mindtap and it was $110. Other than that I loved this class and the discussions and assignments were very clear and interesting/.
Sometimes if you don't understand the lesson, you can text him and ask him. He will give you extra credit if you miss a lesson. All the lessons are on another website and I spent $100 on mindtaps to study the lessons and exercises there.
