No more boring history classes, this techer is fun, hyper, and outrageous. Tests are clearly explained and an outline is given- History is dull but he really wants you to succeed.
This teacher has alot of energy which helps with the sometimes boring historical events. He talks really fast and will go off on tangents but that is the amusing part. He makes my 3 1/2 hour class zoom by.
never take him as a tv course. grades on two test only! fail one and your out of luck. He is funny, but usually off the subject.
Second course I've taken with him. Great energy, you can tell he has a love for history which makes it easier to listen. Very entertaining. Everything is outlined so you know EXACTLY what he expects of you, and what you can expect on tests.
If you like only 2 tests per semester and have to memorize every detail in half of the book, then take this class. He has alot of energy but not to teach just about the subject, he does not help! His tests are ridiculously hard. I wouldn't advice anyone to take this class!!!!
I do not recommend this teacher. He uses the time of the class very unwisely.
He lays it all out EXACTLY for you. Grade is based on 2 tests and 10 quizzes for 300 pts. Gives out study guides which tell you EXACTLY what is on the tests and quizes. Lets you use a quiz on the test. If you have a problem with him it's because you're lazy and don't look at the study sheets.
I believe he is an excellent teacher. He lays it all out. If you can't pass his class, you didn't come to class.
Very loud
I enjoyed this professor's lectures (I did not like him per-se, but he is a good teacher). He provides you with study guides. The terms and questions on the guides are exactly what's on his tests. If you do the work and come to class, there's no reason you can't get an A.
Mr. Bishop knows his stuff. One of the better profs I have had in College/University. He gives tests that have no surprises. You will always know exactly what to study for. Make sure you have an interest in History. It helps a lot during class discussion.
Easiest class I have ever taken. Mr. Bishop is an adjunct professor so you know they're pretty easy! He gives you study guides for the quizzes and tests and whatever is on the study guide is exactly whats on the test! NO SURPRISES! There's never any homework. You go over the study guides in class together. I never even had to crack my book open!
Awesome Class, awesome teacher. I highly suggest taking both of his history classes.
Dude, these people are stupid, bishop is probably the easiest teacher out there, you dont deserve to be in college if you have trouble in his class.
very good teacher.
This class is very easy and straightforward. Anyone with half a brain could pass this class. And he is so hilarious, he makes history more interesting
He tells bizarre stories and is mostly upbeat, which is nice if you take his block classes at night. Sometimes- but only because I'm a dork- I wished he would've told less stories, and gone more into depth about the actual material. He covered WWI in ten minutes and took another ten to talk about some Bean Festival he went to. Funny, but...
Overall the best teacher I ever had, and one of the easiest classes to take.. If you don't get an 'A' in his class you should be a highway grass cutter , for life!!!
I did not get very much out of this class other than his life story. I read and studied, but did not do very well.
One of the best classes you could ever take. A good teacher, and very fair with his marking. There is no reason for you to do bad in this class.
I liked his class so much I had to take him again. He gives a study guide and if it's not on the study guide it won't be on the test. His lectures are upbeat and he sprinkles in funny little diddies about his life. I would take him for all my classes if I could!
He gives a study guide that is exactly like the quizzes. The only catch is you hear some intense life storires and rambling. He personally annoyed me, but the class is easy! He doesn't care about attendance, so go for it
Sometimes a funny guy, sometimes, not so much. Easy class, though. Just read the notes the day before the test, but do study for the midterm and final. In class writing assignments with notes. Piece of cake!
u must take this guy for an b s class i mean he is sooooooooooooooo easy if u even get a "B" ur considered a****in my book that how easy he class is please do ur self a favor and take this guy tests are easy and he's funny. good luck
Wow, this guy was great! I would HIGHLY recommend taking him for any class you have to take. USF students need to cross enroll just to take this guy. He is very knowledgeable and speaks with authority about history. Only 1 problem, he brought his ideas on politics into the classroom. I don’t care if he doesn't like Bush.
Good teacher. Has flexibility with absences. Will pass with an easy A.
3 WORDS : KICK ASS TEACHER. IF U DONT GET AN "A" IN THIS CLASS U SHOULD'NT EVEN BELONG IN COMM COLLEGE FUNY AS HELL LIKES TO RAP DURING CLASS THIS GUY AS HE WOULD SAY WOULD HOOK YOU UP
He is an interesting teacher! He wants everyone to succed and tries to make it a easy as it can be. I don't like the way he tests because theres just two test and they cover a lot of chapters so its fair game of what comes on the test. So you might study a lot of crap thats not even coming on the test. But gives many chances to improve grade.
HILARIOUS, likes to relate to students, very clear. Wants everyone to pass and gives lots of reasonable leeway. Great guy.
This was the best teacher that I have ever taken in my life. His test are so easy and His papers are for elementary students. Any one who gets even a 97% in his class shouldnt even consider themselves to be in college!!!!! He is the greatest
BISHOP IS AWESOME. From the first day of his class I knew I was going to pass. I would highly recommend taking him for every history class you are eligible to take that he teaches. The man knows his stuff, he did go to Oxford, afterall.
AWESOME CLASS!!!!! You have to go to class if you miss more than like 5 days... your kicked out if you miss 7... I have gone to class everyday, and trust me when I say this.... He MAKES IT WORTHWHILE!!! I enjoy going to class! He is BY FAR one of my fav teachers that I have had so far! He is pretty easy. You know EVERYTHING on tests!!!
He is an amazing teacher. If you attend class you will pass, just take notes and show up. His essays are easy and notes are allowed. If you arent a big history person he doesnt go too much into the subjects, just the basics. I loved his class and would take him again.
Mr.Bishop is the best techer EVER! Take him and you will get an A as long as you do what is asked!
Good teacher, fun class, pay attention and you will do good
TAKE HIS CLASS TAKE HIS CLASS TAKE HIS CLASS TAKE HIS CLASS
Mr. Bishop is a GREAT teacher. Before him I got D's in History and dreaded the class. I got a B in two of his classes. He allows a few absences but I honestly don't think I ever missed because his class was actually enjoyable. You don't really need the book (I never used it), just take notes and know the vocabulary. Easy A or B!
An Oxford Graduate who knows how to teach! Only a complete moron could get less than a B in his class. He always tells you EXACTLY what's going to be on the Tests, and His lectures are Interesting. He does fall behind schedule often, but if you just read the text, and write the definitions of the terms he gives you, you are Guaranteed an "A"
Bishop is a little crazy ... he will call ppl out on their writings and send them to the writing center for help if it doesn't meet his standards. His test are really easy .. we had about 5 quizzes throughout the semester 5 quest. each and 2 exams. Overall he is an easy teacher as long as you can put up w/ him (he can get annoying at times).
If you show up for class and take good notes you WILL learn a lot and you WILL get a good grade. He's very clear on what he expects. You have to complete four writings and he's very clear on how he wants them done. If you listen, study, and do the writings the way he wants them done, you're sure to get an "A". Good teacher, take him.
Easy class. Only problem I had was that he tends to expound on his politics, I signed up for history not political science.
easy A. fun, crazy guy. course is layed out very simply: a bunch of 5 q's matching quizzes, a handful of writing assignments that are in-class, and based on your notes from a small reading and graded on a Satisfactory/ Non-Satis.. basis, a midterm for the first half, final for the 2nd half and you've got a good grade unless you were in a coma.
The book and him are not organized. They do not follow the time line. Do not buy the book or the articles (little book). Go to http://wps.ablongman.com/long_kishlansky_cw_6/ to read the chapter summaries. Go to the Academic Success Center to copy to articles and definitions. In-class essays are a waste of time. He does not know what he is teaching.
He is a funny guy and very entertaining! He tells history like a story, he's very educated and passionate about it. He's not boring, and i dont even really like history. Its helpful if you take good notes becuase all he does is lecture (no powerpoint or notes on the board). Study and you should get a good grade like i did!
Smart man, entertaining, thorough without being boring. This guy is great, and highly educated without being a nerd.
Guy can be a **** if you asked a simple question. I wouldn't take him just take this class online. so much easier and a crap load of extra credit. Good luck
good teacher IF your good at tests!!!! that is the only thing he grades is 5 quiz's with 5 Definition Q's & Midterm(1st half) & Final (2nd half). IF YOUR NOT A TEST TAKER... DONT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Professor Bishop is a very good teacher in that he is well familiar with the material he teaches his students. You will def get a good grade in his class with minimal effort, however it is to your benefit to learn the material bc the chapters are not only interesting, but you keep using/hearing about those kinds of things on TV and real life.
If you're hard of hearing, take this guy: boy has he got a pair of lungs on him (quite funny, really). He knows his stuff. I only took this for my humanities requirement but ended up enjoying the class 'cos it makes sense of world news today: fascinating stuff. Quizzes are easy 'cos he tells you what will be on them. Test essays a tad hard.
prof bishop is so crazy. very easy class. dont take this class early if u r not a morning person bc this guy is loud and will definitly wake u up lol. overall a good professor.:)
Taking notes in class is helpful, but the book helps a lot too, so you have to balance between the two. Also, if you're taking his class soon, just FYI, he might put words on his quizzes that were not in the original "terms" list. So you have to pay attention to his lectures...I received my only B in college in his class, I had a 4.0 before that!
Awsome teacher! He made learning history fun. It was reccomend that the book be read. I never did, proboly why i got a B over an A. All you need to do is pay attention to his lectures which are very understanding. A+ teacher!!!
Be wary of instructions. This professor is not asking you to think, just parrot the book and you will be fine.
Mr. Bishop is very strange. He will be angry with you if you don't write the paper on the articles even if he already told you that you'd receive no credit for it anyway. The book does not go in order as well so it can be difficult to keep up because his lectures do go by time line.
This class is a joke! Too much weight on final exam. You could get A's the ENTIRE class, and it's like the final exam is MADE to lower everyones grade. Exam is extensive and not enough time is given.
I took this class online and it was pretty easy. He makes his lecture fun to listen to. Would have gotten and A if I would have done all my assignments but I am not complaining with a B. Overall pretty good teacher.
Extremely ambiguous multiple choice questions for seemingly simple fact-finder questions. Arbitrary grading of discussion postings online leads me to believe that he doesn't read the postings. Had to drop the class in fear of losing my 4.0
He is the worst teacher!! he is too harsh and very cold hearted!! he doesnt give any chances and he is too strict on his discussions.DONT NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
Took his class online over summer. Lectures tell you EXACTLY what you need to know for tests. Tests are quickly timed, but VERY easy if you take notes from lectures. Discussions were somewhat easy, but he grades hard. Do the work even with little effort and you can get at least a B in the class. My class was condensed though.
Don't take this class online. The final is a joke. I think he wants people to get a bad grade in his class and didn't allow extra credit.
YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY, THIS GUY IS BY FAR THE EASIEST TEACHER I HAD IN MY LIFE. IF YOU THINK HIS TESTS ARE HARD I ADVISE YOU TO DROP OUT OF COLLEGE AND GO LEARN HOW TO RETREAD TIRES.I NEVER STUDIED AND GOT 100'S ACROSS THE BOARD. MOST IMPORTANTLY HE LOOKS LIKE PSYCHO SID FOR WWF WRESTLING.
Not organized at all. Goes off topic Too easily and often. Rude and unprofessional. So far an easy class as long as you right down the notes but himself doesnt seem to know a lot more than JUST the lecture he is teaching. If you ask a question and he doesnt know the answer he changes the subject to another topic leaving you confused.
His class is very very easy. I personally do not like history. If you take notes, you will pass with flying colors. As for him personally, he can be somewhat rude and abrupt, but also fun and entertaining. Just depends on the day
CLASS WAS VERY INTERESTING MAKES LEARNING EASY, KEEPS YOU INTERESTED IN CLASS. I WOULD RECOMMENDED HIS CLASS.
Took online Early A.H. I would not recommend him to anyone. His tests/quizzes are horrible, spelling errors, information errors, etc. Many of them, even after a first attempt are completely unclear, sometimes with multiple correct answers or none at all. Bishop himself will simply tell you to learn how to learn and routinely insult the class.
Oxford-Phooey! Can they not spell at Oxford? I'm sure that they can. So what happened to Bishop learning proper grammar and spelling? What a pompous you know the term. Very quick to judge people and I am now sure, has a preference for a certain kind of people. The only good thing about the class is the fact that you are allowed to take quiz twice.
Love history but this professor is a piece of work. I agree with other posts, the final is a joke.
Dont take this teacher, I got all A's on my test, which is the easy part. He grades his discussion, super hard. And for the final he tells u to study all of your notes from chapters 1-18 (which is like 40 pages from the semester) and gives you 75 min to complete 75 questions. And he never tells you what percentage something is.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. He never says how much something is worth. His midterms/final exams are crazy, a minute a question. Me and five friends took this class together and we all got B's on the midterm and D's on the final. My favorite part was discussions. He didnt give me any credit for my discussions becasuse he said i plagerized, when i didnt.
Mr. Bishop was a wonderful teacher! He explained history so well and it was an enjoyable class!
I took the online course but would not have taken it because the grading system was unfair.
This guy is off the hook! Good teacher. He explains everything you need to do to pass. He tells you what is going to be on the quiz and exam, you ONLY need to study. Great stories about life and current events as they relate to history. If you don't pass this class you are not trying and should not be in college.
He is an amazing teacher! Very funny and loud! He keeps it real and get you thinking about how important it is to know American History...like others said, if you fail his class then you aren't ready for college or have no interest in academics. You must go to class to get what is going on and reading the book is important!
He's a cool guy. The 5 quizzes are easy. The writings are easy. My 2 year old nephew could ace one of his in-class assignments. What killed me was the final. I did well on the midterm, but the final was hard. All you do in this class is take notes from a power point presentation. He goes too fast sometimes, but all in all, this is an easy class.
Took the online course, unit tests come straight from the book. Short chapters, lots of reading. Do the terms/study guide ?s. Impersonable and can be a d**k if you don't write well. Easy course, just check your posts for errors. Midterm and final are too heavily weighted. Look over your past unit tests and past unit terms/study guides.
I took this class online and would not recommend him to anyone. The course content itself is very interesting however, he is a hypocrite. He criticizes the students for spelling errors when he himself needs to enroll in a spelling/reading class! The errors in his video presentations & posts are atrocious & yet he would fail you if you wrote it!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF!!! Even if you make A's & B's on your quizzes and discussions, the 2 major tests are so weighted that it will mean the difference between one letter grade and another. I made a high B on the final and turn in mostly A's on the quizzes. Even if I make a perfect score on the final, I still won't get an A in the course!!!
This teacher is HORRIBLE. He demands students to use proper grammar and spelling but consistently misspells words and uses grammar incorrectly. Not only that but I took my papers the writing lab and had it corrected by another teacher yet he gave me a low score because of grammar (there were no mistakes).
Mr. Bishop expects perfection in when it comes to the grammar used by students. If only he held himself to the same standards this would not be a problem. He is not helpful when there is an issue requiring instructor assistance, and demeaning in his responses to email. I would not recommend him at all.
He's been my favorite professor since starting college!
The online lectures are actually interesting, and you can easily just watch them and pass the weekly tests, which are the only assignments aside from a midterm and final. My only complaint is that he will openly criticize students for typos and grammar problems, yet his syllabus and presentations are "full" of 'typing like this' "FOR NO REASON".
I took the online course. SUPER EASY. His quizzes are based on his online lectures. His midterm is a compilation of the quizzes. I haven't taken his final yet but I'm guessing it's the same thing. He can be harsh on discussion post grading. At least there's only one. Overall excellent teacher. Summarizes the chapters very well for you.
Bishop has it together, but hes still cold. He wont let you retake a quiz after a week and it must be taken before 11:59. I have him online, so he sounds b*tchy over the computer.
History class is mostly all about remembering/memorizing what happened in the past and Bishops facts-to-long term memory system is really good IMO. Lays out the EXACT corsework, literally, and hammers it home. Study = Easy A. Dont rep. RedSox or Yankees...or anything north of Virginia come to think of it. :)
He is just extremely rude and inconsiderate. He contradicts himself constantly.
as long as you attend class, and take his notes your golden. read the chapters in the book before exams and study notes and youll get a B+ at least. good energy, loves the subject. doesnt reply to email well.attendance is taken into account when it comes to midterm and final so SHOW UP. i got an 80 on exams just with studying terms in his lecture
Seems very strict, doesn't answer already answered questions that can be found on syllabus or announcements but quizzes are SUPER easy and all from his presentations (don't even have to read the textbook). He made learning American History pretty easy and somewhat interesting. I hate history but he loves it and it rubs off a bit.
Took online. Quiz every chapter (easy).midter/final makes up entire grade. He makes those 2 test ridiculously hard. I felt like he sets u up for failure. He's not helpful. My last class to graduate&my least fav teacher@hcc take on campus.i hv a 3.7gpa not a slacker. Be prepared to know every little detail for final ovr 18 chapters!
Horrible! Do not take him. He gives less than a minute for each question, do not want to to pass this class. Test every week.
I found this class to be very interesting.I actually enjoyed the weekly presentations. As long as you FOLLOW instructions you will be fine.
Took the online course and it was very easy to follow. If you follow his instruction you will pass the tests with ease. The time to take the tests are a bit strict but if you know material it is possible to finish on time.
Easy Class, dude lays out the work you take 5 multiple choice quizzes a mid-term and a final, last two quizzes were group exercises i got a B and never had a textbook. follow the notes and his instruction and its an easy A or B. Loves the Rays BTW...
Easily one of the best teachers I have had at HCC. Was not completely interested in learning about History, but this man changed that for me. Tells you everything that's expected of you in order for you to pass the class on the first day. If you don't pass the class you are an imbecile. Took two History classes with him because he's a joy.
He's a funny guy. Just take lots of notes and you won't need the book. All you need to do is memorize the vocab words and you will do fine. I don't even like history and I found it somewhat interesting.
His class is really easy. If you write down his notes and basically memorize the vocabulary, you'll never need the textbook. Definitely an easy A.
Took the class online. Very clear with expectations from the get go. Tests are primarily taken from the information in his presentations. Does not curve grades, but you do have the opportunity to bring your grade up. Never had much interest in history, but his class got my interest.
Quizzes were from presentation, pretty easy if you took notes. Never used the book. Mid term and final were not difficult, but he gives no extra time to look over notes, so know your stuff or organize it well. You have 1 minute per question. No playing around with the syllabus!
When you read his 11 page syllabus your first thought is, "this guy should've been a lawyer." His quizzes are based primarily on his video presentations but you still need to read the textbook. If you tank any of the test there's not a lot of opportunity to resurrect your grade so make sure you know the material well before taking any of the test.
Great awesome guy EASY A. Just show up an take notes. 5 multiple choice quizzes 4 answers super easy. Same quiz questions on midterms. Never use you phone he'll catch/dismiss you. Very liberal redneck. Cool guy very easy
his lectures are entirely to long, nothing on his 20 minute 20 question quizzes relate to what he lectures about. He gives you minimal time for quizzes and midterms. minute per question. you only get one chance on test, any other test only count as extra credit.
If you listen to long taped lectures and write notes you will do well, they are long so get ready, a couple were short those I did well on. Does not like to talk to you, wants the class to take care of itself Don't take this class with hard classes, it is time consuming.
do not take his online class your grade Is based on your mid term which is 1200 points and final 1500 points. there is minimal time for both final and mid term. you do take 5 quiz at 100 points each he sets youu up for failure. do not take his class!!!!!
Not an easy class. All quizzes are timed and you only get a minute per question. He also doesn't give a review for the exam which I think would have beneficial to most students and the exam is also timed so you cant really take your time with it.
I feel like he's helpful and an extremely intelligent professor, but DO NOT TAKE HIS ONLINE CLASSES. The quizzes aren't too bad. You get to retake them a second time, but you do not with the midterm and final. You get 1 minute for each question and studying does not help. The final was all over the place. My advice is: take him in person.
Great professor! 2 hours a week on his assignments and got an A. Textbook can be 2 editions behind, as long as you consult it sometimes (which I never did), you watch his 30 min lecture and you're done! 1 quiz a week after that and midterm and final (HARD!) and you are all set. No useless projects and you learn some interesting stuff!
Nice class. He made a long strenuous subject and made it interesting and full of jokes. He does go off on a tangent sometimes though so classes might run over by about 10 minutes.
Allows previouscheaper editions of the book for class. Book is pointless since he gives all the answers to the quizzes in his lectures-- just take notes and you'll pass. One essay in the beginning, easy guidelines.
Go to class, and take SHORTHAND notes on the lectures-- gives you all the answers you need. Only definitions on the quizzes, with a word bank. Very simple. Makes boring history hilarious.
The assignments were really easy. Watch a lecture every week, take notes then take the quiz. The problem I have with class is the midterm and final. He gives you a short amount of time for the # of questions. They are EXTREMELY HARD. If you do bad on the midterm you should probably drop the course because they are weighted so heavily.
Take him! He is so kind and genuine! So blunt and funny, yet covers all material well. No other work in the class but quizzes, midterm, final, and two short papers due at the time of the final. 3 out of 5 of the quizzes the class worked together one. Finalmidterm was average but if you study you'll be fine. Loved him!!!! Attendance lenient.
I took this as an online class and some of his video lectures are not very good as far as presentation. As far as information they were very good and he gives you most of what you need to know for the quizzes and you get 2 attempts. The final and midterm are rather rushed. I felt they were hard to get through in the time allotted. I glad I took it
I took it online and it was really hard
As long as you go over the videos, terms and study guides you'll be fine! You don't need the book as everything is in the videos. 1 major essay in the beginning and after that the class is a breeze. You can take the weekly test twice. If you miss a test you can make it up during the last week of class.
Really great teacher
Took online accelerated and got the easiest A I've ever received. Never looked at the book. Just print out the study guides and fill them out when watching the lectures and you'll get all the answers for the tests.
Had quizzes weekly but they were easy if you print out the worksheets he provides, take notes on the lectures and study them. Gave 2 attempts at quizzes if you do not receive an A or B. At the end of the semester he opened all quizzes and let us take any we missed. I had an issue with my final and he was very attentive and it was on a Sunday.
His teaching method of online lectures is not engaging at all. I found them very boring. I would much rather have the ability to view the PowerPoint presentations myself so that I can save them to study later for the exams since that is the material your midterm and final are from. I won't take his class ever again. Disappointing.
Professor Bishop's video lectures made me LOVE learning American history! Never had to read the textbook but during the video I took word-for-word notes on the worksheets he provided. These notes were all I needed to pass the chapter tests. For mid and final I memorized the notes for a final A in class. He is a great teacher and was helpful!
His teaching methods are absolutely ridiculous. If you even think you're going to do poorly on the midterm I would drop the class, because it counts for a huge portion of your grade. The material he went over in class wasn't even the same material for the corresponding chapter in the textbook. WOULDNT TAKE HIM IF HE WAS THE LAST TEACHER AT HCC!!!
This is the best teacher i ever had online. He give his students easy quizzes each week and his lectures are very helpful. I passed the class with an A and i got an A on my final exam.
Even though Professor Bishops lectures are on the boring side they contain a wealth of information. Watch the videos and take word for word notes. Exam questions come from the lecture videos. Barely used the textbook. Have 3 attempts to improve your grade on quizzes. Easy A
Easiest class I've ever taken . One quiz a week and they are very easy. You get three attempts on each quiz so you're guaranteed to pass!
to be honest hes a good professor but sometimes he can be a bit of d ick and make remarks and jokes around a lot but decent at teaching easy class
This dude is amazing! I took him for Early US History, and I HATE history, but he made it so easy! Quizzes every other Wednesday, they're super simple as long as you know the terms. Mid term was multiple choice with a fill-in-the-blank worksheet, final is the same but with two short, easy essays. He's loud, but has a great sense of humor!
Awesome online class! History is hard, but if you spend the time to watch his lectures (which can get long) and fill out your study guide, you'll do great. Midterm and final are a big part of your grade and I was nervous because its a LOT to memorize but he couldn't make it any easier to study. Surprised anyone gave him a bad rating!
Video lectures made the topic more interesting
His lectures are the most hillarious things that you'll ever listen to. Takes notes and you can get a 100 on every quiz and get an A on both the midterm and final. You can take quizs 3 times so it's extremely easy to do well on. His lectures are very interesting. Don't buy the textbook cause you'll never use. Gonna take his Euro class next semester
Was a funny man,the class wasn't to hard but the exams were challenging !
For future online students: DO NOT BUY BOOK, just watch his online lectures. He condenses everything you need to know for the test here. He made a boring subject interesting with his anecdotes. To earn an A you must listen and study, but you will not ever have to read anything or do any discussions.
Online class pointers: take screenshots of the lectures and save them into WORD. This will save you from writing out tons of notes. This class will only take you about 3 hours a week total to pass with an A using your Word document while taking the weekly tests. Listening to his wonderful lectures while taking screenshots will do it.
He will ensure you pass. Anyone should get an A with this great teacher.
Hated history until his class!
One of the best classes I've taken at HCC. Great professor, his online lectures have some added humor. Quizzes are super easy, all answers are in the powerpoint lectures. Listen to the lectures and review them. Test answers are also all throughout the powerpoints. Most organized and simple online class I've taken. Impossible to fail with him!
Love him!
Mr. Bishop is a very good professor. You do not need the textbook or to read it to pass. Just screenshot his lectures into a word document and you will pass the class. His lectures are interesting and he's a nice man. He's passionate about what he teaches and you are allowed 3 attempts for the quizzes.
Professor Bishop is a RIOT! I DREADED taking history because I always hated it, but he always finds a way to break up the dreaded history with some amusing anecdotes. If it's not on his study guide, it won't be on the test so you have to really work to FAIL in this class. I would definitely take again.
I hated history for so long until I took AMH 2020 with Prof Bishop! He really knows his stuff and makes it interesting. Really not a boring class at all! He is goofy but his quirky humor helps you remember stuff and what he says is to true! He has a true passion for American History and politics!
He somehow made everything relate to Trump, which got old after the second week. I don't even like him and I felt like Bishop was being unfair. He also tested on chapters that he said would not be on the tests. Passing is entirely based on the notes you take in class and my hand would hurt from writing so much. He also talks (yells) loudly.
While his classes were essentially just lectures and early release for study days, the lectures were fascinating and will interest any who like European History. Had two short essays at the end of the year which were short but required two full pages of notes which he was strict on. The first day with him was also unforgettable! Would take again.
Take this class online it is very simple. He gives a 20-minute lecture per unit and there are 16 questions to answer directly from the lecture. The second try the questions are the same and there are no essays only quizzes. It's not supposed to be "open note" but it's an easy A, just takes a little while.
Simple online class. Took him this summer & as long as you write down what his lecture video pictures say there's no way to not get 100s on the quizzes. 2 chances for the quizzes and EC comes from the difference in those scores. It only took about 2hrs a week to complete the class work & I got an A. He sends reminders so you don't miss anything.
I've taken him twice. It's all quizzes and tests but all the answers are on his online lectures. One of the easiest classes you'll ever take but you don't learn anything
If you take good notes on the lectures you'll pass with ease. Midterm and final are both worth 1,000+ points. So study so they don't drop your grade down. Only things graded are a quiz after the lectures and midterm/final. Easy online history class. Professor responded promptly to emails. If you're looking to pass history. Take bishop online.
Professor Bishop is an awesome guy. He makes videos to break down each lecture, no more than 20 minutes. Super funny guy, he will make you laugh with his videos. Easy, easy course. Definitely study for the midterm and final, but overall great guy!
Mr. Bishop is awesome!! Taking his online class is very easy and efficient as he keeps all of his modules unlocked so you can work at your own pace! Seriously best online class
Class is super easy. Cool professor. Lectures for each chapter is super long though. But as long as youre keeping up with the pace during the semester, you should be fine.
Seriously love professor Bishop!! He leaves the modules open all semester! The quizzes and tests are exactly whats on the power point! I definitely recommend taking his online class!
REVIEW HIS PRESENTATIONS and youll get an A easily.
Prof. bishop is clear and all the information is exactly what is on quizzes and finals great videos and review excellent teacher !!
Great Professor! Watch the lectures and make sure to take notes or screen shot them because the quizes are straight from them. STUDY for the Mid Term and especially the final. Overall a very easy class, with the ability to work ahead.
This is the easiest class you will ever take. There are about 16 quizzes, but if you look at the power point, you'll get an A. The final exam is just a combination of the quizzes. Take his class.
You can only miss four days the entire semester which isnt bad. The class is easy be sure to study the vocabulary words given and just pay attention. Easy class just study for midterm and final. Those grades are 80% of your FINAL grade. Good professor and hes fair.
I took Professor Bishop online AMH class and loved it! He gives you a clear outline of the whole semester, watch the videos, go over the chapter information, take the quiz and your guaranteed to pass! Everything in the video is on the test.
Took him for lecture. WORST DECISION EVER. $200 book, never used it. His lectures are long and boring. Doesnt use Canvas and grades based off of 4 quizzes5 questions, 20 points total covering 2 units per quiz. Plus Midterms/Finals (which are very hard). Prepare yourself to type/write a lot since powerpoints are important and he doesnt post them.
All you need to do if write you definitions for each chapter and you will be fine for the quizzes. Book its not mandatory but used for definitions and extra research.
There are a total of 16 quizzes and you have two attempts. His exams are worth over 1,000 points BUT they are a combination of the quizzes that you already took, so memorize your answers. Easy class all the answers are in his video. Dont waste your money on the book unless you just love history.
I took Professor Bishop's summer online course. He was very clear from the beginning on his grading policy and everything regarding the course. He allows two attempts per quiz (except the mid-term and final exams), and gives study guides per unit. Stay organized, watch videos, take notes, and you will pass.
Hardest teacher ever . he comes late & Make you turn your phone completely off . also he teaches superrrr fast im a fast writer and i couldnt keep up. also couldnt use my phone to take pictures of the board to copy down later. i Dont recommend at all .
Easiest A you'll ever get. Don't buy the book, its all based on his videos.
Cares about his students, lots of rants about current politics. Based off his powerpoints (that he does not put on canvas). Show up, take notes, you'll be fine.
Bishop is the easiest teacher I have ever taken. All you have to do is watch his lectures, take the quizzes which are based off of those, and do the mid-term and final. Oh, and take notes off the lectures and quizzes. They'll help a lot when you take the mid-term and final. Seriously, he's so easy. Maybe about an hour of week per work. Take him.
For online students. YOU DO NOT NEED A TEXT BOOK!!. I just finished class for the summer semester and let me tell you all, it was the easiest class i have taken. There are no homework, no papers, just tests which are always answered by the videos he provided along with a study guide. Easy A if you watch the videos.
Very Easy class, the assignments are just quizzes and tests. You don't really need the textbook as long as you watch the lectures, easy pass for quizzes as long as you take notes.
Easy class with little work.
If only he could be my teacher in all my classes!!! Best course I have ever taken while attending HCC. You won't regret it!
The lectures were recorded in the 2010s so the audio was horrible and hard to listen to. No textbook, just video lectures. Tests were okay, once you take them you can only view incorrect answers once and then its unavailable. Mid-term was 2 months of material with no study-guide, final exam was 4 months of material with no study guide and proctered
Good teacher! He sometimes makes jokes during the lectures but most of the class is still on topic. He doesn't give homework, so you have plenty of time to study. He's very clear with what will be on each test and exam, so if you study, you'll do well. There is a book, but the class is mostly based on his lectures and PowerPoint presentations.
Entire course is quizzes, 16 MCQ in 25 minutes and two tries. One midterm and one final exam (MCQ only) that are both proctored on Honorlock. Each unit has a lecture and they're kind of boring, but the quizzes are easy because they come almost word for word from the lecture. Answers can only be seen once right after the quiz is finished.
He is just mid. You have two quizzes a week that like you're supposed to do then there is an Honorllock midterm and final. He doesn't really prepare you for either. Good luck if you choose him. I won't again.
One of the best history professors I've had. He does online lectures that last 10-30 mins with a note guide. The answers for the note guide are found in exactly in the lecture, and makes amazing studying for tests. He made history one of the easiest subjects to do. The only downside is the final is units 1-18 and a lot of studying required for it.
Weekly quizzes are 100 points, but they are coupled with a 1200-point mid-term and 1500-point final so make sure to study for these exams. Prof. Bishop responds quickly and is very willing to help!
Grades were 5 quizzes, 2 papers, a midterm, a final, and attendance. Quizzes werent bad but the exams were some of the hardest Ive ever taken. Study until you think youre done then study some more. He really cares about your success and hes funny. Lectures from PowerPoints that he posts on canvas. Good at answering questions. Would take again.
His lectures were informative and well-written. All quiz and test Q's from his lectures. A lecture or two each week along with a quiz (16 Q's). Mid-term and final proctored and around 45-70 Q's if I remember correctly. Take extensive notes on the terms each week and study them throughout the whole course and you will do fine. Not an easy A.
I was honestly disappointed with this class. Not much teaching was done and the only assignments were one quiz a week which were taking completely off of quizlet. Kind of defeats the whole purpose if every quiz is not his. I had a high grade but failed the midterm so I ended with a B. It was so easy but I learned nothing.
His test are so easy he sometimes does get distracted in the lectures but easy class to pass.
Everything was simple as quizzes were due every week and were overall pretty easy. But when it came to the midterm and final exam, they were both worth over 1,200 points with 80+ question on honorlock. Don't recommend if you aren't a good test taker with history.
Very easy class! Only assignments are weekly quizzes based on the 20-30 minute lecture, but quizzes are open for 8 weeks so nothing is technically "due" each week. Quizzes are very easy if you take notes during the lectures and the midterm and final are the same questions from the previous weekly quizzes.
Easy class with weekly quizzes. Lectures are helpful, but exams can be challenging. unstuckstudy and other study tools are a great way to prepare.
