Awesome professor, knows what he's talking about and how to relate it to the students. Very positive and willing to help (after you get through the first week or two of scaring out the slackers)!
Good prof, gives an interesting lecture, but exams were 3-4 page take home essays, should have gotten W credit for it.
awesome awesome awesome. Great speaker and makes the topic interesting

Cool guy. Looks like Uncle Jesse from Full House. Not really that clear, but it's hard to be in Philosophy. Gives take-home tests and the final was easy. Recommended as long as you get a good TA, which are scarce.
This class is actually an easy class but make sure you have a good TA. Most grade really hard and give alot of quizzes but this can be avoided if you read and do your take home exam early and ask your TA to proof read your paper.
The class itself is pretty easy if you have a good TA. But if you're going to lecture make sure you've had some coffee or bring a pillow.
Good Teacher. If ur intrested in the topics youll like the course. Make sure u get a good TA. I had coleena
This class really does depend on the TA... The readings although lengthy and sometimes boring, are not necessary if you go to lecture. He goes over everything you need to know. It can be quite interesting at times. All in all, the class is not too bad for a gen. ed.
If you wanna be a lawyer take the class..brilliant man who holds you interest all class
a really intelligent guy. He keeps the class very interesting.
This class is amazing. I didnt want to even take the class to begin with. The lectures are pretty easy but you have to get a good TA. I had Wisdom, he's amazing. Go to both office hours and youll get the edge you need to get the A. The midterms were so easy. I mean you get to take it home and get it revised by your TA before you hand it in. Hes Hot
Bloomfield was in love with himself...his insights were substandard and the grading for a class seemingly so loose and comfortable was arbitrary to a point of ridiculousness AVOID
best one i ever had so far!
Great lecturer. Made the material easy to understand. Exams were take home and straight forward, though still challenging. Go to class and you'll get an A.
He was a very good prof - kept things interesting - very animated. Take home exam papers. As long as you do the SHORT readings, listen to him, and have an opinion, you'll do fine.
Lecture was a waste of my time, I didn't listen and was on facebook most of the time I just went to make sure I took down the notes. The reading are extremely long, my advice don't do them. There are two papers, which each are only on one of the readings, just read those two. The final exam is on a book called the Symposium which isvery interesting
I'm a person who goes to lectures, and I found this one completely missable. Like the person below me, I was almost always on facebook during it. The two papers are proofread by your TA and the final was three essay questions about the Symposium, which you could have with you during the exam. Recommend taking the class for an gen-ed.
Great teacher. All you need to do is read the short symposium book and pay attention in class. Easy A.
Good lecturer. Makes the material understandable. Sometimes boring, sometimes exciting. Overall, not bad.
I was not very interested in philosophy until I took this class. Professor Bloomfield is a rather good lecturer and makes the material make sense. Your grade is based on a midterm, essay and final. I didn't find any to be difficult as long as you attend class. I highly recommend this class if you need to take a philosophy gen ed.
Your grades are a paper and two exams, which are based on your lectures. He's very fun and high energy, and doesn't mind repeating things until you get it. Also, there is no book for the class; he puts all the readings online! Your wallet will thank him.
(Phil and Social Ethics) Bloomfield is an AWESOME professor! I love his lectures- they're always super interesting - he's not a waste of your time at all - go to class - it's the only way to do well. Some topics really make you think which is rare in college. I think I might be a better person because of his class. Take him. You won't regret it.
Bloomfield can be funny and uses a lot of real life examples to prove his points, but I thought he was still confusing. He has high expectations on assignments for a gen ed class. Not a bad professor, but he is full of himself which can be annoying.
It was not a horrible class but I didn't like that the TAs grade everything and they all graded differently so your grade basically depends on your TA. Some lectures were interesting but I still found it to be a pointless class.
Class is way harder than it needs to me, absolutely ridiculous. I had nearly a 4.0 before taking this class and ended up doing very poorly and my GPA dropped a lot. AVOID THIS CLASS
Bloomfield is a good professor. His lectures are always very interesting and though his multiple choice midterm was much more difficult and confusing than it needed to be, the take-home essay was worth nearly 40% of the grade and made it easy to raise your grade. I didn't do well on the first midterm but still ended up with an A-. Great class!
Very quirky guy and odd at times. Nevertheless, a good speaker, very interesting class. Just make sure you have read the material before the test. Take very good notes, write down all the points he makes. Midterm isn't too bad if you follow the above. Spend time on your essay & perfect it. Its 40% of grade. Ask TA what he/she is looking for.
Going to class is mandatory. Has no powerpoints so what you write is all you have. Exams are tricky but do-able. Only teaches 1 side of all the arguments or in this case his side... If you cant deal with someone saying affirmative action is good or pro-abortion then dont take this class
Everything he tests you on is said in class, you don't even have to do the readings. If you go to every class and take notes, it's an easy A. Just a heads up for any hardcore conservatives, he will take the liberal side on all controversial issues discussed in class.
Lectures are quite interesting and helpful, so go to them. Overall, not a bad class or professor.
40% of your grade comes from a paper graded by your TA so he's more important for your final grade than Bloomfield. Lectures aren't all that important to go to but they can be interesting so its up to you. Read the essays he posts and know the Symposium and you'll be mostly set for an A.
I LOVED this class. Bloomfield is the man. Honestly, if his lectures don't qualify as engaging or interesting for you, I don't know what you're looking for. He takes questions mid-lecture and fields them well, so if you ever want to call him out, he's fine with that. Very funny guy, cares if you do well and actually helps you do well in his class.
Bloomfield is full of himself, but did a fine job teaching the course. The material is very easy; attend lecture and take good notes and you'll be prepared for the midterm and final.
everything on the exams were said in lecture.. examples he uses are very entertaining. can get a little boring at times but if you stay attentive you can get an easy A. Only complaint is he tends to only teach his opinion on things
Took this class online over the summer and it was pretty easy. The ta does most of the grading, so just do well on the papers and youll get an a. Bloomfield can be picky about the way you word things and almost forces you to agree with the way he thinks on some things. Overall, a good class to take, especially if your required to take philosophy.
Easy class, basically all you have to do is summarize arguments from the readings. Exams and papers were pretty easy, the ta grades everything. They are picky on how you word things so be careful. Topics are interesting to think about- professor has a clear view on some and wants you to think the same about controversial topics. overall good class.
I really disliked this class. Overall, it's not that hard, but there's a paper due worth 40% of your grade, which is ridiculous. VERY liberal, and expects you to agree with him. If you believe in white privilege abortion andor can swallow your pride and agree with him, class is bearable.
Like many others have said, he's liberal. But don't take what he says personally. He loves to hear himself talk, and doesn't like answering questions. When you do pose a hard question, he always says he'll get back to you but never does. TAs do majority of grading. Paper is okay if you agree with everything he says. Pay attention to his lectures.
Lectures are interesting and makes you contemplate a lot. Everyone thinks of him being too liberal but those who complain have obviously never met a philosopher. If he didn't believe in Affirmative Action or abortion he would be a terrible philosopher and if you don't believe in them then hopefully this class will point you in the right direction.
Engaging lecturer, but his class was terribly managed. He didn't post a single grade online so you have no way of gauging your performance and the essay expectations are convoluted at best. Essentially, they want you to write 1000 words without saying anything, but that's philosophy for you. I'm into this stuff, but it's not worth the trouble.
Very liberal professor and actually pretty offensive at times. With such a large class there is no opportunity to refute or discuss points he makes which is very frustrating. It seems he likes to hear himself talk...
I never went to class, and that's something I very much regret now. The lectures were very interesting and it was the one class I was unable to fall asleep in.
Very opinionated in his lectures. No powerpoints to go off of. You have to go to class and take good notes to do well
Professor Bloomfield is a great lecturer! It is true that there are no slides, so you have to write down stuff he says. But this forces you to pay attention to what he's saying, and the material is actually pretty interesting! There's some writing involved in this class, but if you go to TAs for help, you'll be okay (since they do the grading).
Interesting lecturer. as everyone else has said, he is very liberal and very opinionated. I recommend just swallowing your pride if you disagree with him and write what he wants to hear. sometimes that just the smart thing to do in terms of getting a good grade. also go to discussions, the TA's tell you everything important in the lecture
The class had basically no work: midterm, short take-home essay, and final. You need to go to basically every class, but you only need to sit and listen to do well. Bloomfield has some insightful things to say, so I really enjoyed his lectures and I think a lot of students could take something out of this course. Also he's pretty hot
Loves to hear himself talk. Very opinionated and convinced that he is right about everything. Thinks his class is much more important than it actually is. Refuses to put notes online, forcing you to go to every lecture to write down his ramblings. Might be a decent guy, but awful professor. Avoid if you can
He does not post any lecture note, everything depends on your note on the class. Two exams counts for 50% of your grades and 40% on your essay, 10% for discussion. He is hilarious but use quiet good on your grades.
2 in class exams one take home paper. Exams are 25% each paper is 40%. 10% participation First exam is multiple choice, and all the options are to close to eliminate one or the other. It's very specific info from readings. Take home paper depends on your TA, so if you get a bad one good luck. No notes, slides, take this class elsewhere.
Took this class to fulfill a requirement thought it'd be easy but was totally wrong first exam is all multiple choice studied so hard and didn't do well. If you skip lecture then good luck catching up, definitely take a different class if you can.
Overall the content was moderately interesting, however, extracting the important information out of his "lecture" was challenging. He doesn't use powerpoint notes, doesn't offer any type of review session prior to exams and a majority of the "grading" will be done by a TA. Overall, the course is straightforward but wouldn't really recommend it.
So I took his class online over the summer as a mandatory STEM requirement and I've never been moved to criticize a professor until Bloomfield. The grading rubric for papers, which are a HUGE part of your grade, is entirely arbitrary. "You get an A if the paper is good" is the gist. Dude's arrogant, opinionated, and highly hypocritical.
He has no lecture slides so it's hard to follow his (incredibly opinionated) lectures, which are completely subjective and then gives you an objective multiple choice midterm with horribly written questions that even my TA didn't like. My TA was great luckily for me. I wouldn't recommend
This gen ed class needed for most STEM majors is fairly opinionated and poorly structured. My TA for this class disagrees with most of the professor says which says a lot about how the course is structured. There are no lecture slides, and the class is structured around Paul Bloomfield's opinions. Word of advice, don't take this class.
I've never gotten a grade below a B in my life until this class. I'm literally failing even though I do every reading and have been to every class and taken thorough notes. The structure of the class sets you up for failure: 50% midterm and final, 40% paper, and 10% discussion. I spent hours on the paper and got a terrible grade. Avoid at all costs
Does not post slides as lectures are mainly him talking, a midterm and a final as well as a 40% of your grade paper and 10% of your grade presentation, no homework but exams difficult - specific and biased to his views often, take notes in lecture and read the readings and you will be fine, expecting hopefully a B (D on midterm answers too similar)
Paul Bloomfield is a good man, but teaches a boring class with useless information. If you are taking this class as a requirement (which you probably are) very little content in this class is memorable. On the final, some students had to write about the "racist" borders of Europe. This is 40% of your grade too.
I loved him but most hated him. All you really need to do is attend class. He's a very entertaining speaker and will talk about everything you'll be tested on. Reading the papers does help, but an A is possible even without.
i bloomed for bloomfield and finessed a fat C+. Thanks for screwing up my gpa over a useless gen ed and forcing me to either pay 1500 dollars extra to Uconn, waste another semester slot learning nothing or making me take a serious GPA hit. Remind me again why this class applies to bio, business and engineering majors. We have more important classes
Professor Bloomfield makes it very easy to pass if you just attend the lecture and listen closely to what he's saying. He's very focused on discussing assigned readings, so even as someone who didn't read anything, I still got an A- just off of listening to the lecture and participating in the discussion. Even if you disagree, just sit through it.
MUST attend lecture to do well. Discussion was also critical. My TA was very good; she extracted all the important info from lecture and elaborated. The midterm (multiple choice) was challenging. The take home paper isn't bad if you go to your TA's office hours for feedback. Final exam is all open ended, but was easier than the midterm IMO
I really loved this class, its incredibly easy and although there are reading assignments every lecture, he thoroughly explains them and I didnt read 70% of them. The ones I did read arent hard and are actually interesting. He is a good lecturer, engaging and will pause for you to ask questions.
He's a really talented lecturer, and it was easy to follow along despite not having a powerpoint. He's pretty full of himself, which may be a turn off for some. If you go to lecture and take good notes, don't bother doing the readings.
Doomfields class is tough to begin with, but the difficulty of this class is significantly amplified if you do not do the readings or attend the lectures, which I recommend you do because the exams are a heavy mix of reading and lecture content (i.e. Pauls personal views). The class has super interesting material and the lectures are engaging.
Your grade in this class almost entirely depends on your T.A.
Bloomfield is such an intelligent and talented professor. He puts enthusiasm into his lectures and I genuinely enjoyed attending them. There were a lot of readings for this class which were pretty important but if you went to all the lectures and understood them well then you'd probably be fine. Class was really interesting, highly recommend
go to lectures and write down everything he says. truly entertaining, explains things well, and is clearly intelligent. if you can't handle occasional arrogance and condescension then take someone else i guess. didn't really read any readings and got A's from transcribing everything. he. says. cos thats what matters (on the assessments at least)
So Bloomfield himself is a fine professor when it comes to lecturing, my only complaint is really about the class. Specifically, how dependent your grade is on your TA. One essay is worth 40%, and this can break your grade. Since one exam is MC, this course is really 75% based on your TA since the final is SA. My TA was easy, but some were unlucky.
Easily my favorite professor at UConn. He's passionate about what he's teaching and it rubs off on his students. Lectures are engaging and easy to follow. For his classes there's always a paper that's a big percentage of your grade but he helps with feedback along the way. From my experience if you read and take good notes you'll get an A.
Great professor with passion and humor. He knows how to get people's attention and get people feel involved. We all clap for him on the last lesson of the semester. Definitely would take another lesson.
Bloomfield is an excellent professor. He is very good at boiling down a topic to an intro level. He knows that most people in this class are not in it because they want to be philosophers. However, this is NOT an easy A. If you put in the work and some effort, you will be fine. Ask him questions!! He is great at explaining things
Class is necessary for extra understanding; readings and questions based on reading are discussed during class time. Only had to buy one reading for class, all else was online. Manage your work and pay attention to what he requires for the midterm and exam and you should be fine. Also, very interesting material, rarely was I bored in class.
this guy's the WORST. find a different person to teach you this stuff unless you want to deal with an arrogant dingdong who thinks that he's the reigning god of philosophy. thank god for COVID-19 making it nbd for me to pass/fail this course!
This class sucks . 80% of your grade depends on your TA. No lecture slides, so you have to go to class to take notes, and write down every single thing Bloomfield says, and he likes to talk a lot. You are lucky if you get a good TA, otherwise you aren't getting in the A/B+ range. This Gen-ed brings down your GPA.
Worst professor. Inaccessible outside of class and doesn't care about students. Makes this class 10x harder than it needs to be. If you need to take this class I suggest to do it with a different professor.
Bloomfield is obviously very passionate with what he teaches. He is not a bad professor, but you need to put the time and effort in his class to get your desired grade. His political views are very apparent in his lectures which I personally am not very fond of.
His comments are quite snarky, he thinks he's the GOD of philosophy and you cannot challenge him on anything. His lectures go on and on and on and he goes so off on tangents that it's impossible to comprehend anything he's saying. Very harsh grader and makes the class way harder than it has to be. he offers no help at all. DO NOT take his classes.
Content is interesting, there is not a lot of work so there is a lot of emphasis on the few assignments that you do have - harshly graded midterm short paper, midterm multiple-choice, final. You also need to do discussion posts which he grades harshly. Take this class with another prof if you need it because he makes it harder than it needs to be.
Just the worst
Has a lot of hot takes, lecture is basically listening to him ramble. Lots of readings and mandatory discussion posts every week. Way too much stress and work for a gen ed.
Save your time and do not take his class. He is just pushing an agenda and he gets way too political.
Prof Bloomfield's course is structured in a way that a 3 credit 1000 level course will be your heaviest workload during your semester. Poses questions in a confusing manner on exams and quizzes as if he is trying to trick you. As an engineering student, this is the last class you want to worry about. Take with another professor.
Pretty middle of the road professor. Not an easy A but still doable to get a good grade. Loves to lecture and they can be pretty interesting at times. Decent amount of reading for the class but that can be expected.
Prof. Bloomfield knows he's a difficult professor and uses this to brag. He gets rather political during lectures. Lectures are long but can be interesting. Vague assignments/quiz questions that are up to interpretation. Starts off your grade as an F, you work up from there. His class was NOT properly adapted for online learning.
Take class with a different professor, unnecessarily hard for a gen ed
I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT take this class with this man. This is my fourth semester in college and this is hands down the worst professor I've ever had. His lectures are completely useless and provide no value to the course content. Extremely hard grader. Took this as a gen-Ed and was one of the biggest mistakes of my collegiate career.
RUN! DON'T TAKE PAUL BLOOMFIELD TRUST ME!!!!!!
AVOID THIS CLASS!! Professor Bloomfield gets his political opinions way too involved. Doesnt provide clear prompts for his exams and assignments. He also blabbers on during lecture so its hard to know whats important. Hes a strict grader on discussion posts. 40% of your grade is from 1 paper
Grading criteria and feedback made no sense. Threatened to the whole class to fail anyone who didnt follow exactly what he wanted for the term paper after reading the DRAFTS for it. Very much a his way or nothing at all Professor.
This was easily the worst class Ive ever taken. This teacher does not actually teach during his lectures. You can know all the material and still fail tests miserably. Hardest tests ever and such an unorganized class. Do yourself a favor and dont take any of his classes.
I am writing this review during the time where I was supposed to take a final, but he forgot to upload it. All the students are confused and many emails sent to him and it has been half an hour with no response from him. Dont take his class.
Terrible professor who does not know how to schedule a final exam. Is unreachable - get used to this - by students and TAs for 2.5 hours after the schedule time for the final exam. Lectures on and on about nothing in lectures and gets political for no reason. Selectively chooses what questions to answer and is NEVER clear about directions. AVOID!
This is one of the most difficult gen eds I have taken--professor doesn't teach during lecture. Forgot to upload our final exam at 6pm and nobody could get a hold of him- he didn't reach out until hours later saying that he apologizes. This class is way too much stress for a ged ed
Very difficult class if you have no interest in Philosophy and are taking it as a general education credit.
TA's were the life savers of this class. The only reason I got the grade I did. The mid-term was incredibly hard for a gen ed, especially a class like 1104. The final and paper were graded leniently (by the TA's), since even the TA's know how unfair the midterm was. Final was delayed to be posted, causing high anxiety. Take with another professor!
Horrible class. The short answer papers we had to write had very specific answers that aren't obvious. It's practically all luck based. Have the final exam today and don't even really care anymore bc I know it does not matter how much effort I put into the class.
A little surprised by all the harsh reviews. Bloomfield isnt terrible, as long as you put in effort youll do fine. Opportunities for meetings if you get confused with him or TA. If you dont like philosophy you probably wouldnt like his style of teaching because its fast paced. If you have a good TA youre set.
Bloomflied was okay. He is and intense guy but over all okay. The reading material is boring and so are the topics too. He does try to get you involved in the class but can just be too much. You have modules each week with a quiz and readings as well as a paper and final - Written out on BLACKBOARD AND LOCKDOWN. But over all it wasn't too bad
He is one inspirational lecturer. I just love his charisma. But the course is a little too tough for gen-ed. I would love to take another course with him
Just no. Avoid him at all costs. He's not worth the time and energy. He loves to talk about himself and his political beliefs. You won't learn any valuable philosophy knowledge in his class. But...he will ask you to buy his book. Don't waste your time with that either.
yeah nah.
There's just something about him that don't sit right with me. He only lectures and gets on tangents that have nothing to do with the subject matter, making it difficult to understand what is needed to know. He also refers to everyone as sri *last name* as a way of making everyone genderless but it just comes off as weird and tone deaf.
Bloomfield is awesome. His lectures are always fun. He wrote a whole page of feedback on my rough draft along with his edits. Always been nice.
This is the WORST professor I have ever had at UConn. Just speaks about topics randomly with no lecture notes to follow. Misguied about various topics. There is something SERIOUSLY off about this guy. Puts personal attacks on graded assignments. He removed all interest I ever had in philosophy. Avoid like the PLAGUE
Essentially all reviews from the spring 2023 semester are deleted... I wonder why that might be...
Like previous review mentions, all 2023 reviews were deleted for rightly calling out the professor for habits that were not student friendly. Especially if taking for honors credit, don't take 1104 with Bloomfield when other professors are a lot better.
just don't do it. by far the worst professor I've ever had. sometimes funny but most of the time gets off tangent, wastes time, often rude. take any other professor, I am begging you
Worst professor. I emailed him perceived inconsistencies with the course content, he misrepresented my argument, acted like I didn't understand, and made me defend it in front of the 300+ person lecture. His writing assignment included 15+ childish instructions (i.e. stapling). He wants his students to regurgitate his ideas not think critically.
I will be fair to Professor Bloomfield. He is very knowledgeable about course content and gives (often unnecessarily) scathing criticism on papers which will improve your writing. However he interacts with students in an unacceptably immature and hostile manner and presents information in a biased and closeminded way. Prone to tangents. WOULD AVOID
Interesting lecturer, occasionally funny. Horrible professor. Rude, personal attacks in feedback, will let you fail without gaf. Grading criteria is arbitrary ("A is a good paper" on rubric) and his address of sensitive topics is... bad. Zero information on his HuskyCT. Take it only if you're committed to writing and regurgitating his every word.
Super fun guy, loved listening to him, but terrible teacher. I didn't learn anything. He didn't care that we couldn't get the books in + were falling behind. He gave horrible, rude feedback on papers that didn't help us to do better next time. The material was so confusing, especially w his bad teaching. His opinions are right, mimic them or fail
Though Bloomfield is a very intelligent man, he did make me cry on three different occasions this semester. It's clear he is extremely optimistic and passionate about philosophy but is a very harsh professor and gives criticism not for the sake of improvement but for degradation. If you wanna learn but don't care about getting a C, take this class.
I don't get the problem with Bloomfield's lecturing. True, he doesn't use slides, but if you pay attention and take notes, you should be fine. Definitely don't skip class. He's a tough grader, but fair. People complaining about his comments being "degrading" are just being sensitive. You can't learn without criticism.
Whacko tryna shove his politics n random philosophy he himself made up down ur throat then tests u on it. Super holistic essay rubric (worth 40%), so it's not even clear how to get an A. Scathing feedback that doesn't guide you but is just there to belittle you n prolly to feed his ego. Don't take him unless u ready to get yo ahh handed to u ho.
Bloomfield can be an intense professor, but his lectures are engaging. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of readings and assignments. unstuck AI proved helpful for study prep alongside the textbook.
He rambles a ton and is rarely on topic which makes everything confusing, he also loves to make his own opinions just as important as the ones he's teaching. If your taking this as an honors course just don't its awful. Entire grade is made up of midterm an essay and final.
Unprofessional, condescending, aggressive, disturbed. It's not a particularly difficult class, but sitting through the lectures, listening to and watching such a loathsome person is brutal. He's poison to the soul. No evidence of significant intellectual strength, and he doesn't communicate well: the direct opposite of concision.
best professor ive had at UCONN, he makes philosophy interesting and fun and thats saying something. theres only 2 exams and a term paper 15 pages long for grading and then participation. Weekly readings that are somewhat intensive but as long as you keep up and take notes its not too hard. hes respectful of the students and quite the personality
I have never rated any professor before, but I have to save others from this one. His comments on papers are genuinely degrading and harsh. His lectures are not simple and are very hard to follow. He is rude and is not worth your time. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
I tried to rate this prof before but they didnt like my language:) Please dont take this course. Prof is out of control. Uses hurtful criticism that is not constructive. His comments are invasive and harsh for no reason. If you are not willing to put in hours of effort with mininmal reward, do not take this. Take Heather Muraviov. Shes great!!!!!!!
Bro is funny and he does chat a lot before class with students. Paul knows what he's doing and when he makes mistakes he owns up to them. Bro does grade a few things, but they aren't too bad. Bro does grade hard on the long essay, but the criticism is helpful.
fr kinda f this guy. assigns a final paper with unclear instructions that the class would try to discuss amongst themselves when he stepped out for a few seconds each lecture because he refused to repeat himself. got my grade back after deciphering his maze of instructions all for him to give me a C from only reading the first 2 paragraphs grrrrrr
He doesn't give good feedback for essay's, it's mostly criticizing the writing instead of further explaining his markings. A lot of the time he goes on long rambles that are mostly his opinion and not actually about the topic itself.
PHIL1104 was my favorite class this semester! Lectures were interesting, and prof used really great examples to help explain topics. Homework was typically one reading per week that we went over in class. Overall grade was based on one essay, midterm, final, and participation. If you study and pay attention in lecture, you'll do well on the exams.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE
Worst professor I have ever taken at Uconn. Do not take this class. There are four grades total weighted very heavly. There are so many other professors that teach this course where it is possible to get an A. He is hard to talk to, brutal, and controversial. Take this class if you want a C on one of the easiest gen eds. Worst profesor ever
