Nicely done Paul
Paul is one of the best professors I have ever had! I dropped 350 from another professor to take it from Paul. Thank GOD I did. He has expert experince in the field and brings that into the class room. You know exactly what is the test material.
The relaxed nature of Mr. Brown allows you to learn the subject matter, not the test or professor!
Paul Brown is one of the best teachers in the business college.
Very helpful and explanatory but tricky test/quiz questions, nice guy.
This professor really knows his stuff. I found that the test/quiz questions are moderately difficult. The questions test your knowledge but aren't overally hard. He is really a nice guy who adds a little humor here and there (if you catch it). I'm really impressed by him and his teaching ability.
He makes business class hilarious!
He's not hard and a very nice guy
Laid back guy. Doesn't take attendance. Bad part is, the tests are from power points in lecture, so it's not easy to skip and do well on the test. All points are from 4 tests, no points from assignments or attendance, so it's important to do good on every one.
He has an awesome dry sense of humor, and carefully explains stuff so you can understand it. And he has GORGEOUS HAIR.
Very good teacher. Tried to teach us a lot but did not make things very hard. Tested on what he talked about only.
PB is the best teacher for every class he teaches. If you can get him, take him.
I love this guy's sense of humor! He doesn't take himself too seriously, but really knows how to teach accounting. Go to class, take notes, and tests are easy as hell. His face kind of reminds me of the boss on 'Office Space'...
He is the Man, Very good teacher!
Did a very good job keeping my attention throughout each class period. Would take extra time to explain fuzzy areas, and really did a good job preparing us for the tests.
Very good!
Paul Brown in the freekin' man! If I could go to Paul Brown University I would! He's hillarious and a really nice good. Tests are all multiple choice and not bad at all. If you can take this guy for any class, do it!
Funny! Very nice and easy to understand. He's got some good stories. His tests are a little tricky but if you study you'll do great. In a big classroom? Sit in front.
Paul Brown is one of the best teachers on campus!!! His tests are kinda tricky and that is why I gave him a 3 for easyness but his teaching style and great stories keep you interested in each and every class...he also looks like Lumberg from Office Space and he is the nicest teacher I have had in my 3+ years here at NDSU
P.B. was absolutely aweful. He is lazy and gives no insight to the class. You will get more out of reading for 2 hours from a business book. Stay away from this waste of time and professor.
Brown is a stud, his tests are hard but if you go to class and read the material you will do fine.
amazing teacher!!! tough class..tests are difficult, but you learn a lot and paul is willing to help you if you need it
He's a cool guy, and his class is really easy, all you have to do is go to class and take notes, or get them from somebody
interesting
Exceptional. Brown takes plenty of time to get his points across.
Love his classes. He's a great guy.
A great BSer. So much so that he'll make stuff up when he knows he's wrong instead of admitting it. Some of the stuff he teaches conflicts with the text and things learned in similar classes such as Investments and Money and Banking.
Interesting lectures. Tip: Don't buy the textbook, he doesn't use it.
Absolutly horrible. He is not willing to help you if you have a question or a problem. He has a bad attitude the whole time. He has the whole "I'm better than you." attitude, and that doesn't really fly with me. DO NOT TAKE SMALL BUSINESS INST. It is not a real class, you do one huge project that takes forever with cliets that wont work with you.
He is horrible. He has bad teaching and communication skills, he is never willing to help or give you an extra minute of his time. If you are not a good test taker, there is no points in his grade book other than the exams, which makes it very difficult and puts a lot of pressure on the exams. Overall, I was very angry I did not drop the class.
Great teacher. Found him very easy. If you go to class, you will ace the class. Tests are straight from his lectures.
This was an entrepreneurship class and he was a very clear lecturer! You don't need a book just the slides and whatever notes he has in class. I came to him for help in a new business idea because of his experience.
Paul is smart, and actually has informative lectures. It is REALLY tough going to class being that he doesn't care and doesn't give homework. He is kind of monotone and boring, but if you listen he is giving good information. The tests he gives are super tricky and that is why this class was kind of hard. If you are a class skipper, DO NOT ENROLL
Very nice professor! He knows what he is talking about. You need to go to class because there is no book and he elaborates on his lecture slides. The tests can be tricky, but if you memorize every work in your notes you can ace the tests! Pretty easy course.
I've had PB for 3 classes and have got A's in all of them. You save money but not having to get a book and all there is to study are powerpoint notes. If you study/memorize the notes the day before the test you will get an easy A. I recommend PB to anyone looking for an easy A
Paul Brown is an excellent instructor. He doesn't believe in the use of textbooks (which is nice) but class attendance is recommended if you want to do well. I would take another class from him if I get the chance. Though sometimes his lectures get long, each class period is actually worth your time. Tests are easy if you study class notes.
Study the notes he gives in class, not just power points. Go to class for attendance points. Dry humor, but means well. Has interesting stories and knows his material. Nice that I didn't have to buy a book for this class.
Nice guy, knows his stuff. Attendance isnt mandatory but he adds really helpful stuff to his notes and gives random points for being in class. Tests were never too hard.
Great teacher. Very easy class. I would highly recommend this class. I took it during the summer online and it was clearly laid out and explained. It was not overwhelming by any means.
PB doesn't require a book for the course, and the tests are straight from the notes he provides in class. The only caveat is that the only points in the class come from the tests, so if you do poorly on one, you can't catch up. I would take another class from him.
This professor is awesome. He really knows what he is talking about and has a laid back environment (with jokes and what not). Doesn't use book which saves students money. Uses real life scenarios to help you relate the material to possible situations that may come up when you are in the working environment. Highly recommend!
Great teacher!
Paul is one of my favorite professors here. His classes consist of slides that are available online, but he supplements them with some additional information. So if you don't go to class, you don't get all the info you need from just the online slides. If you study the lecture slides along with the written notes from class, you should get an A.
Great professor. Really knows his stuff. Is more than willing to answer questions and help you out. Lectures can get boring and long. His tests are taken straight from the notes. No in class points, however he adds a lot to the notes he posts online which is basically what the tests consist of.
Very interesting in class. Wish I would have taken in class instead of online but great class. He responded to emails within a day of sending them. Answered all my questions. All email responses were not with the attitude of "ugh really questions". I'm not a huge fan of online book but adapted and learned the material.
Paul was a great MGMT teacher for me. Easy to understand the topics he covers with good notes. Tests are on things only talked about in class so go to class!! Homework is usually out of the book which he puts on BlackBoard. Tests are multiple choice but if you pay attention, its a breeze.
Paul Brown is a great teacher. His class is very well laid out, and his tests are super straight forward. If you take notes, you'll pass the class.
Make sure you attend class. Books aren't necessary but his in class lectures discuss all exam material. Easy if you attend and pay attention.
Very Boring but on point. Old school professor. Very Old school. You NEED to be in class everyday if you want to pass. Doesn't take attendance for points. But does give a lot of notes that are not provided online.
He is very good at lecturing, and keeps his stories to be able to help with learning the concept. Tests are not super hard, just need to study and know the vocab. Paul is very helpful if you have any questions about your grade or even future.
Great professor. Highly recommended
Had for MGMT 320. Paul has a very dull monotone voice. He kind of has been there and has done it all. Very insightful for the classes I actually went to. Got a B and maybe went 3 time. The homework is online and unrelated to the lectures. I got a B without going to a class. I did get notes from a friend. Multiple sections, easy to get notes.
The only points in the class are from 4 homeworks and 4 exams. The homework is purely based on the textbook (and you'll need to buy an access code for the homework). The exams are purely based on the lectures. He adds a lot of material in lectures other than the slides. If you study for the exams you will easily get an A.
Brown did not even assign a textbook for our class so all of the tests were based solely on notes taken in class. Very easy to skip if you have a friend in the class who takes great notes and is dependable. Most of the notes he gives during class are not on his lecture slides and the littlest things are placed on his tests.
Solid professor. Pretty straight forward with 4 tests and 4 online quizzes. No textbook and most of testable material comes from notes he adds during lecture. Attendance isnt mandatory, but make sure you have someone you can get notes from.
Only grade is from 4 tests and 4 quizzes. One bad quiz can really hurt your overall grade. Each test is 100 points, each quiz is 25 points. View it as 5 tests of 500 points, not a lot of room for error.
Probably my favorite teacher I have had. Take notes on a laptop for quick reference and take notes of all his lecture items, even when he gets sidetracked on a topic. Quizzes in this class sound easy but are super hard. 10min, 10Q quizzes. Exams are straight from notes. Quizlet works great for his class. Paul is a great guy that knows a lot.
You can not skip this class. He doesn't put his notes online so show up to class or make sure you have a friend in the class because the tests and quizzes are straight from the notes. He doesn't require a textbook which is nice. He's a great professor and knows what he's talking about, but make sure you show up to class.
Good Teacher, but don't fail a test or quiz, you won't be able to get your grade back up. Attendance isn't manadatory but must show up for notes. Overall great teacher, and after a while i actually thought he was kinda funny too lol
Paul is a super genuine guy who truly cares about the students and their learning. He gives you everything you need to succeed, so his classes aren't intended to be difficult. You just have to be willing to work for it and you will do well.
Professor Brown is a great instructor. He doesn't make you buy a book; tests/quizzes are straight out of his lecture notes. He clearly really knows what he teaches, and has the experience to back it up. He gives a lot of relevant, useful information in the class, and does a great job of making topics easy to understand. Highly recommend his class.
Paul Brown is hands down hilarious. Show up, pay attention, and make Quizlet flashcards. This class will be a breeze
No ex. cred. but curves every exam, including the final! Quizzes are easy if you go to class & have the notes, they arent on Quizelet. You can get by with not going to class if a friend send notes. Exams consist of 90% handwritten notes which are given in class. Theres only 5 things in the grade book, NO EXTRA CREDIT. Class is interesting/random!
Not a bad professor. All he does is lectures and exams so you have to pay attention which can be hard from him.
Rather tedious but if you can pay attention and care a bit you will get at least a B
Paul is the greatest professor at NDSU by far. His lectures are interesting and he delivers the material in a way that is easy to understand. He does not use a textbook, so you will need to come to class to get the material.
Paul Brown is a very good professor. He's very laid back and although his lectures sometimes drag on, he's pretty entertaining to listen to. Attendance isn't mandatory but he doesn't put the notes online. You understand the material more if you actually go to class rather than getting the notes somewhere else. 4 exams, 4 quizzes so do good on them.
Paul doesn't use a text book for his classes, and instead has put together what he feels necessary to learn in the class. Therefore everything on the test will be talked about in class. He is a very dry person, but still can be funny, and has good lectures. Show up, take notes on everything, and study before the tests and you should be fine.
Good guy.
I will be the one honest review of this class. The class itself is simple. Show up and take your notes. You have 4 quizzes and 4 tests. This is the most low effort performance by any professor. If I can even say mediocre. Paul gets a teachers union to sit behind. Dry tone, drones on, random tangents, and slides that are about as disorganized.
Brown is an excellent professor. He does a great job explaining the material very clearly and simply. His tests and quizzes are relatively easy if you attend class and pay attention. All are based on his notes and are multiple-choice and non-cumulative. If you are looking for a non-stressful course, take his class. No book needed.
I thought his lectures were very interesting. Graded on 4 tests and 4 quizzes only. Need to show up and take lots of notes if you want to do well on the tests and quizzes. Can get a lot out of this class if you try.
This guy will put you to sleep. Straight lecture, no participation. His lectures vaguely match his Powerpoint and the neither match the test questions. You can have his direct quotation from a lecture and powerpoint slide when answering a test question and still manage to get it wrong. Test questions are written weird and on a "best answer" basis.
You don't have to go to class, but he doesn't post his lectures anywhere. He posts his slides but they rarely match up with what he says. You can pay attention, write down all of the things he has on the slides and then some, yet still struggle on the tests. Four quizzes and four exams. His tests don't match the notes and makes them difficult.
Decently interesting professor, but quizzes and tests are impossible to do well on. Anyone I have talked to in this class has struggled as much if not more than I have. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get an A on a test or quiz. Some questions simply cannot be found in our notes, class PowerPoint, or even on the internet. There is no book to reference.
Brown is a good professor but this class was not great. Basically 100% textbook homework with a couple of very short papers. Essentially just a ton of reading and then a bunch of online quizzes.
You will draw soo many triangles in this class that it is basically trigonometry.
Teaches overarching concepts on a top level in various business areas. Don't have to attend class, and his lectures are best watched on 1.25x speed at least. All scoring comes from quizzes and tests, which require light studying and Control + F in your google doc to search for.
All your grade is, is 5 tests (100 points each) with usually 3 assignments (25 points each). All the assignments are online, but NONE of the tests are. I would recommend reading the text book if you want to do well on tests because the assignments do not cover the test grade and do not help a whole lot for a cushion. Everything is open right away.
Take him if you get the chance. His wisdom is interesting to learn from, and overall a very easy class. Tests are almost exactly like the notes
Paul Brown is very accessible outside of class and will respond to emails quickly. I do not recommend taking MGMT 320 online. The tests make up 81% of your grade and they are difficult without the in-person lecture.
If you know your resources, this class is going to be pretty easy. If you do not, prepare to study and study heavily. Grades are mostly the 5 exams, with some online homework and weekly discussion posts sprinkled in. It is not too heavy of a load, as you can get all of it done within a few hours of the day it is due.
Mid I'm afraid
This class was very difficult. The tests are very very difficult, I do suggest studying mostly from the connect chapters in the book. He does test on things said in the lecture as well, just not as much. Be prepared to listen to hard lectures and take equally hard tests.
Lectures are dry very difficult to stay attentive. But he posts lectures online 0 clickers so you can stay home and watch. Homework on cengage also pretty easy. Read the chapters some of the material is on the test. The test's are online lockdown browser but very hard I recommend studying the notes and reading the book.
His lectures can be quite boring, but he sometimes tells stories of his own as a business manager and is often funny. You don't have to go to the lectures if you don't want to, he posts them online, I think 75% of the test questions are from a test bank and 25% are from the lectures themselves. He does not and will not accept late work.
he's my goat
