an awesome professor who made shakespeare exciting - definitely an asset for sfu
No Comments
absolutely amazing prof--so clear and tons of fun
so damn sexy I didn't miss a class!
this was his second class I took (and I hate english) just b/c he's that good!
Excellent!!
his lectures are intersting but he marks hard.
interesting, comes across as arrogant, I recommend a class with himrecommend
Stand out prof, unapologetic in his pop culture approach to lecturing.
great lecturer. the class applauded at the end of the course

very clear, well prepared and interesting prof..! take a class with him..!
Wow... Was so interesting.
Budra rocks! Amazing lecturer, great tutorials, funny, and sexy too!
The chicks all dig him, he's okay, but not as great as these women have reported
INteresting guy, was lucky enough to have him for tutorial too!
The best prof I ever had. Actually enjoyed lectures a lot.
Funny and enthusiastic - some weird theories
awesome prof...best eng prof ever had
Great prof, i heard he used to be a stand up comic! Need i say more

Budra Rocks, he's funny, he makes sense, his shakespeare class was great, makes you want to go to class... definately worth taking!!
I call Budra the superstar of the English dept
i am an english major and he is by far the best english prof at sfu
Budra was quite entertaining, but his constant use of pop culture references was simplistic, unenlightening, and wound up encouraging some of the most feeble discussions I've ever heard. Mixture of funny and FRUSTRATING.
he was great...one of my best profs at uni....great insights...one of the classes i looked forward to going to
HOT, but NOT a nice guy. I find him aloof. Great lectures, big ego.
Definitely the best English Prof at SFU. Of course, the fact that he is also easy on the eyes doesn't hurt either! He's very animated and enthusiastic!
Budra is smart and good looking. Makes it easy to go to lecture.
Budra was the best English teacher I've had at my 4 years at SFU. So interesting and engaging and actually made me want to go to class (that's a new one for me). Definitely take a class with him!
Great fun to attend his lectures, knows his stuff inside and out and knows how to make it interesting. Best English course I've taken at SFU.
One of the best professors I've had the privledge of studying under. Intelligent but very down to earth and makes every class engaging, fun, and informative. Rock on Budra!!
This man sweats ego. That said, I was astounded by both the analytical genius and entertainment value of his lectures. On a shallow note, he's not as hot up close as he is when seen from the back row of a 300-seat lecture hall.
Uninformative, big ego, not a nice guy.
stroke that ego... I guess it helps if you find him entertaining... he thinks he's hilarious. Its all about the EGO ... bow before it and you'll do fine
a bit too keen on himself. Lectures ok, but not very good at explaining things during discussion, office hours doen't handle disagreement well. Its like he has a script but not very good when off it.
if you're an English student, do anything you can to get into his class!!! enjoyable lectures, clear and fun!!!
Definitly recommend this class. His lectures are interesting and funny. His tutorials are a blast, it is amazing how much he knows. Try anything to get in this class! Not a hard marker on essays either.
Fully concur w/ the comments of him wasting majority of time on mostly useless pop-culture refs and pandering to class-clown/proud bimbo types. Freq. lets discussion degenerate to nonsense. But, he means well, teaches well (when he gets around to the material) and marks and tests fairly.
What a cool prof!
A great professor! He made Shakespeare fun and interesting.
Holy EGO batman!!! Pleaseeeee Budra, you're killing us with your attitude.

Most of the girls thought that he was so hot. I thought he had an attitude. He's a good teacher, but seems too full of himself.
has got to be the best prof in the engl dept. and no, it's not cause i think he's 'hot'. he made shakespeare fun and his classes were NEVER boring. lectures are 9:30 in the morn & taped, but i always went cause it was just so entertaining as well as intellectually stimilating ofcourse. he's also very helpful w/ emails and concerns. he sais ew alot.
I enjoyed Paul's class more than any other at SFU. He has an awsome sense of humour, a vast knowledge of material and is extremely approachable. If at all possible take a class with him!!!
Yes, Paul Budra has a cocky air about him, but he's surprisingly modest and kind to ignorant arrogant remarks from students; in fact, he seems to encourage them. His lecture style is clearly engaging and fun, but he goes too quickly for the complex, more important things, and not quickly enough for the less. Still, one of the best at SFU.

Fantastic Prof, definitely my favourite so far in SFU.
Tied with Everton for best English prof at SFU. Has the ability to make a four-hour night class relatively entertaining which is a definite plus. Fair grader, great sense of humour... wouldn't hestitate to take another course with him.
Paul Budra was awesome, definatly the best prof I've ever had. His class was so much fun!
Fantastic! One of my absolute faves! Very smart, funny, makes it very interesting. If you can take anything with him you absolutely must! He will make you work for A's though. Not at all pretentious and likes to call out pretentious authors (rare for an English prof!)
great prof. i hated english classes before but i really enjoyed his class! i acutally looked forward to lecture and he's funny. high interest in the class and great attitude to studends and really wanted us to do well. final exam super easy!
Best professor I've had so far, in fact, best teacher i've ever had. His lectures are extremely interesting. First time i ever wanted to attend an English class. TA wasnt' that good so essays were marked quite hard. Final exam was not the easiest exams you'd get, a lot of writing. Definitely cool prof and i would take all of his courses if i could.
Decent analyses; gets entirely too much pleasure out of browbeating students for a grown man with a serious career. Methinks the lady is insecure.
This is the one English class that I don't hate. He is so funny and makes the lectures interesting, and hey any class that you get to read Harry Potter is okay with me.
This Prof is AMAZING. Definately take one of his classes if you can.
one word..EGO! if that doesnt bother you then his teaching makes up for it. lectures are interesting, definetly never a dull moment.
He is an awesome lecturer and the kind of guy you want to be your uncle. He rocks! I wish all my English classes could be taught by him. His sense of humor kicks ass and he relates really well to the students. Take a class by him if you get the chance!
Many ppl are commenting on his ego.I had him for a TA and he was incredibly helpful. I think his ego in lectures is partly him having fun because in tutorial, that ego disappears and he is thoroughly interested in what students have to say. He is also very helpful when you experience writers' block the night before a presentation!
BEST PROF EVER. He is sooooo funny. I would take this class over and over again. I attend every class eventhough he posts the notes and the lectures a recorded.
Good prof~ EXcellent humor, besrt course ever!!!
he bashes popular literature constantly but his sarcasm is funny. His T.A.'s are incredibly biased and papers are marked subjectively.
Great prof, actually was able to keep an English class interesting. I would recommend taking any class he teaches.
He is a great prof, a tough marker, demands alot our of his students at least in the upper divisions or when he is your tutorial leader but he makes you want to do the work. I decided to become an english major after taking a class with him and am always look for classes that he is teaching.
BEST PROF EVER! I would take the same class over and over again if I could! he is funny and is a great lecturer. Definitely take him for english!
Great professor. Lectures are extremely interesting and he knows how to add a hint of humour into everything he teaches. His lectures are always worthwhile to attend because he keeps the attention level high with his humour and sarcasm. Overall, best teacher I've had at SFU so far. Highly recommended!
WE LOVE BUDRA and budra loves us, he does NOT have an ego he is just having fun budra is so down to earth to the point where he will joke with and even invite you to dinner parties in his tutorial. well DRESSED, his favorite shirt matched the walls of the lecture. DEFINITELY TAKE HIS CLASSES, budra is a beautiful man inside and out!
Great prof, made class fun! Marking was just at the right level and exams were completely fair.
agree with all the comments below, nice and smart easy going guy. lectures are interesting and he always tries to throw in some humour, had fun being in his class. final exam very fair, his notes actually are relevant to the test.
The professor is entertaining and makes for a great first year English class. Because of the nature of the course, we learned a lot of pop culture, and not enough of literary topics, which made writing the essays a little harder than they should have been. Professor Budra is always there to help and is very insightful with questions asked.
I have always hated english classes before i took his course. He made english a bearable class, which is amazing.. Read the books and go to lecture and this course is great.
If you have the choice of taking and English class with Mr. Budra... do it! Ridiculously funny, keeps class interesting, and just a great guy in general .... TA's are great as well. Scott Marsden was my TA and he was the most supportive and helpful TA ever!
Funniest prof ever! Makes class very interesting and entertaining. We read 6 easy-to-read novels, and the focus was definitely more on culture than literature. We had to write two essays, and we got to revise the first one. A great introduction and transition to University English. Would recommend taking any class with him if you get the chance!
Any course this guy offers is worth it! Budra is amazing!!! He is very funny, clear, organized, approachable, and his exams are super fair. Some say he's arogant, but I totally don't see that. Even tho he's the associate dean, he still learned all our names and responded to e-mails within 24 hours! Best prof I've ever had!
A great prof and as a result, a great class. Has a very sarcastic and quick-witted sense of humour which keeps lectures entertaining. Approachable, well-organized, fair, etc. Course isn't nearly as advanced as the course number may suggest, it's for non-English majors and stays true to that. HIGHLY recommend for B-Hum req over other 100-levels.
One of the very first profs I've ever had at sfu. He is very interesting and funny, makes the class a great and memorable class, definitely wasn't boring at all. He chose somewhat interesting books for the course. I had him for my TA as well, and his marking was fair. The exam overall was fair too.
im taking english105W right now, he's an awesome professor...he helps you as long as you go to his class and arrange a time with him...Best english prof ever
He's hilarious, but his lectures remain productive. Great course and prof.
If you disliked high school English then THIS is the course for you. Take ENGL 105 with Budra. You will not regret this decision. He discusses interesting themes which keep you awake in lecture. The 5 novels were all very good reads as well. Well worth my money.
Ppl often rave about Budra's wit and homour. He's smart and in control of the info he presents. Entertaining at times. Still, also a bit arrogant and not as receptive of varying opinions as he could be. Good if u want HUM credit, not so much if you want debate. His TAs handle a lot of the work. I think he's great, but I'm no fan.
Such a funny prof. Really clear about what needs to be known and super good lecture presentations as well. He prepared students well for the final exam.
Still flabbergasted by ppl's conception that he is attractive... quite the arrogant prick, but this is what ENGL is - I am an ENGL major, let's admit it guys :P He is clear, focused, structured, entertaining, but does not care much for his students. Likes the sound of his own voice... A LOT.
Funny Prof and not bad. But no need to attend every single lecture, as long as you read the books and go to Tutorials.
very intriguing prof. hard to fall asleep in his class imo. i hear it sucks if he's your TA though. Lots of time for your papers.
he is a wonderful teacher. He teachers, rather than lectures, to our class of over 200. He draws from our world to help us make connections to the literary works. If you take the time to make lots of notes in your novels, he lets you bring it into the exam. Good incentive for hard work. Attendance not mandatory, but the classes are not dull.
The best English profess(or) I've ever had! I adore him! He's fun(ny), smart, and entertaining! His lectures are extremely accessible and full of passion. He clearly enjoys teaching (often via non-conventional teaching methods) and loves his subject matter. He's the reason I pursued a PhD in English. Thank you, Paul!!!!! :)
The most amazing prof I've ever had at SFU. He's hilarious, loves his work, and is really helpful if you ask. The most in-depth literary analysis. You can tell he's really smart. He makes the material relatable and understandable. Encourages questions, comments, contributions in class. Read all the novels. Makes apocalyptic literature fun!
He is very interesting. Attendance is not mandatory since he posts notes and lecture recordings online, but I suggest you don't ever miss. Class is entertaining! I am a math major, and I always said I hate English. In high school I got 97% in english, but I didn't enjoy it. I am thankful to get my W requirement in a class I enjoyed!
Very funny prof. I'm a business major and he made English one of my favourite courses. He's very smart and kind of George Cloony-esque n that he's kind of a hot old man... Everything is very clear and if you get a good TA, this class is an absolute breeze.
The professor makes or breaks the course, and Budra invigorates English with his clear, insightful knowledge, wit, charisma and humour. Definitely the highlight of my semester, and I'm not an English major. You are only robbing yourself of a wonderful opportunity if you have not taken a class with Budra.
one of the best profs at sfu! He knows how to engage students and get them interested in the topics discussed in class. The 5 books he chose were interesting but the last two were amazing! His lectures are EPIC! he brings in ideas from other areas of english and society that makes it so interesting! His essay topics are simple and easy to write.
He is soooo Smart! the books he chose for us were amazing! I don't even like reading and writting but I lOVEd the course!! He is very funny and interested in topic. One of the best courses I have ever taken at SFU!! (and English is my second language!)
Best course and professor! I loved the books we read and always looked forward to Budra's lectures. He is entertaining, informative, and very attractive! I would love to take another class with Professor Budra :)
One of the best profs at SFU. Extremely passionate about his course and makes you feel the same. Incredibly witty and engaging. Plus he plays rock music.(in a band). TA's were very good too. A very engaging course.
Fantastic prof. Erudite, funny, engaging. You will regret *not* taking a course with this guy during your degree.
Absolutely hilarious prof who gives good insight and comments on papers. 1010 would take again. He is very clear on his expectations and is always willing to help students outside of class time. Awesome dude.
Made the lectures extremely relevant to material and very straight-forward. Liked his passion and enthusiasm in class but no phone rules !
Lectures were fun and engaging, he made the material interesting, and I thoroughly enjoyed the class. One of the best profs I've had so far at SFU.
Budra is sensational, awesome dude! He is very engaging and gives clear cut notes. He does not try to surprise you and is very relevant to how he approaches his classes. No phonelaptops allowed in class, but overall its really good! Watch out for your TA's tho, they mark everything for you... you have been warned!
Enthusiastic, energetic and hilarious. Dr. Budra's utilizes modern pop culture to explain concepts in class which is awesome. Encourages questions during class and his notes are always straightforward and to the point. My only gripe is that there are very few opportunities to boost your grade in this class (2 essays and a final).
Extremely engaging lecturer. 2 essays, 1000 and 1500 words. My TA was a tough marker though. Our tutorial class also had to do a 10 line performance memorized or 50 line reading of the play. Plays he chose were interesting, and if you didn't understand, it was cleared up during lecture. Easy final, open book, a lot of writing though.
Paul made me appreciate early modern literature. That is a feat I never would have thought possible a year ago.
Incredible prof. easily one of the best English profs at sfu. Actually makes old English inspiring and very interesting. A bit of a Shakespeare geek too so reading any of those plays are very entertaining. Only thing is no laptops or phones in class, which isn't a big deal, but he enforces it sternly.
Amazing Prof, he's strict about technology so don't go on your phone or computer. There is only 2 essays and a final so try hard for those. Explains very well and is very enthusiastic about course material. The final exam is open book and you can bring your notebook so be sure to attend classes and take notes! (TA's do all the grading)
Studied 7 books for this class, & he made the lectures incredible! Such an interesting man; makes everything seem so interesting. His choice of TA's was amazing; mine gave the best feedback I've ever received & it was really clear she wanted us to do well. Grading criteria is made very clear & you are taken step-by-step through the writing process.
He's passionate in what he does but can be to judgemental and rude. There are no assignments but 2 essays and a final.
Okay Mr. Budra is my main man. There was a super hot guy in my class and if I could, I'd ask Budra give a speech at our wedding. Jokes aside, Budra was one of the most intelligent, HILARIOUS, enthusiastic and most engaging professors I had last sem. He great gave notes for his slides, and did nothing but try to help his students. Wonderful prof.
The fact that this is the third class I've taken with him says something about how much I enjoy his class. Make sure to write in your books as much as you can, as all the exams I've taken with him have been open book with notes allowed as long as they're written in the book (you can use post-its too). Marks papers a little on the tougher side.
Best English prof I've had! He is super helpful and engaging. I really hope to have him again! TAKE HIS COURSE FOR SURE :)
Paul was an amazing professor. He's hilarious and made the class laugh very often. Easy course as well, only read one of the seven books but managed to get an A- through his great explanations of each novel. Would definitely take a class with him again!!
Paul was a really engaging lecturer and also very witty and funny. He made English class quite fun. I didn't love the books we read, but it was a super easy writing class. Definitely take English 111w with Paul.
Great guy in and out of the classroom. His lectures are enjoyable to sit through, and are very helpful in getting to understand the material.
He's well-spoken, engaging and easy to follow. However he is very strict on technology in the classroom (like highschool). Any cellphone use/sound would cause a pop quiz, and there was strictly no laptop use. There were 5 stories/books assigned for the semester, given about 2 weeks per book with at most 300 pages very heavy reading.
Articulate, smart, and genuinely a good guy. Hated Shakespeare in high-school, but it is a completely different experience with Budra. His lectures are very engaging and always well prepared. I've done Engl 313 on Distance Education as well, but it's just not the same, so I highly recommend taking an in-person class with him.
His lectures covered the reading material super well, I didn't purchase any of the textbooks but attended all lectures and I felt as if I read the actual material. Essay topics were his discussion topics in lecture so overall was easy. Lectures aren't boring and he keeps them fairly interesting. Quite funny too! Doesn't allow laptops in lecture
Paul's lectures were amazing and funny. I actually enjoyed coming to class because of him and he made the material really fun.
this was one of my favourite courses. Paul is hilarious, and clearly cares a lot about the subject, therefore the lectures were super enjoyable. His assignments were easy enough if you attended class and read all the books, but there were quite a few books to read. (6 novels and several short stories). I def recommend paul!!!
very funny jolly man . very easy and enjoying course. no final exam. 2 writing in class but topics are known in advance. grading for essays are not tough and there is one creative presentation in tutorial. However i didn't enjoy the texts he required :(
He summarised and explained the assigned books and stories really well. He ensured that the material was interesting. Plus, there was never a dull moment in class. However, all the marking was done by the TA's so I can't really say anything about Paul when it comes to that. He was generous enough to give a 5% bonus to everyone in class though :D
Absolutely AMAZING lectures. I was always engrossed in what he had to say. Super nice and thoughtful guy and the only prof that made me want to participate in class discussions. Grading depends solely on TAs. A good grade was fairly easy to obtain just read the books and don't depend on the lectures insights only. Average was B.
I've been spoiled by this man. Extremely knowledgeable, witty, and charismatic. He puts every other professor I've had to shame. Btw, take a shot every time he utters one of this "catchphrases": -If you haven't seen/read it, do it tonight! -Can you think of any modern examples of this? -How would you stage this? -Great name for a rock band!
Tried too hard to be funny but comes off as condescending. Is accessible through his secretary and his own personal website that be plugs every 5 mins. Egotistical. No computers or electronics allowed whatsoever, all attention must be on him. Easy enough class if you can stand his personality
I'm not really into English and literature, but Paul made his lectures really interesting and fun! He cares about his students and he is also available to answer questions outside of class time. Definitely, recommend this prof!
Paul was very engaging during lectures, but you he didn't post his lecture notes online, which basically gave you very bit of info needed for each play you read, so you can't skip class. The 2 papers to be written catered to both the creative and analytical thinkers. His final was very fare and was open book.
Most teachers aren't even worth looking up but Mr. Budra is pretty top quality. Wish my other English professors were as helpful as him. Sigh. Just two more years to go...
Absolutely hilarious, and really seems to know and be passionate about what he teaches. He didn't allow any devices in the class and also didn't upload lecture notes, so attendance and note-taking was really important. The course content was super interesting and varied and he was always cracking jokes during lecture. One of my favorite professors!
I enjoyed this class, and I think Budra was a pretty good prof, but most of the marks come from essays which were marked quite hard for a 100-level course. The course readings were fun (except Lovecraft imo), but the course does not teach you how to write. If you are coming straight out of high school, maybe take a writing course first.
Professor Budra was a solid choice for a 100 level english class. His lectures were entertaining and very in depth, I didnt even have to read all the materials. Your whole grade does depend on your TA though. Overall it was my favourite out of the two english courses I took. I dont enjoy english but I would take this class again.
I loved this class. Dr. Budra is a lovely individual who made lectures, although online, very enjoyable. The marking is done by your TA, but the criteria for both papers were very fair. His exam was also very fair and if you read the books and lectures there is no reason you should not do well!
Where to begin about Dr. Budra! I had him for two classes this semester and his lectures were among my favourite that I have taken in post secondary. Not only is he hilarious, but I really enjoyed the structure of his courses. The readings for both classes were very interesting and engaging and the grading for the papers was fair. Take his class!!!
Budras teaching is nebulous and lacks a clear, cohesive theme. While he does share readings that are meant to solidify our understanding of certain game terminology, the way he leads discussions often results in vague, insubstantial conclusions. He also does not offer a clear grading rubric, nor any immediate feedback for some assignments.
Budra is great! His lectures are super engaging and he held a lot of space for student discussions and following our own interests. He's an older white guy so sometimes says things that are a bit out of touch but is still open to discussion on changing language and progressive topics. Keep up on readings and speak up in class and you'll be golden.
This course was an experimental one for him (the first he had ever taught which merged games with literature), so although it lacked the typical structure/organization youd want, this did not take away from the enjoyability of the course nor his amazing lecturing skills. Paul has a mix of knowledge, humor, and relatability that makes him worth it!
Do NOT take this class with Budra. Absolutely awful
Dr Budra is so knowledgeable and the perfect fit for an Old English Lit prof. He gives awesome background info on difficult stories from old ages which actually makes them more interesting. There are no midterms, just 2 essays and one final where you can bring your books. Just have a good knowledge on the book material and youll have fun! Love him
Expects you to remain focused and off your phones for the entirety of the class. Funny, though, and accommodating. Welcomes questions and is understanding. My T.A. was a slightly hard marker, but I liked this class overall. Might come off as strict or stern, but is fun and explains the readings thoroughly. Good prof.
He's just ok. There are much better English professors that have smarter ways of presenting the material bc the material was not boring stuff, just focuses on unimportant things. He can be condescending in class when ppl have questions and a few times he embarrassed them which I thought was mean and awkward. Knows his stuff but mid professor.
Paul Budra is excellent! I highly recommend him. I took English 211 with him and had a fabulous experience. Budra is the God of Renaissance/Early Modern literature, absolutely knowledgeable. Also, he always responds to emails super quickly. Take his class if you want a stress-free English class to enjoy the beauty of literature.
Dr. Budra gave absolutely amazing lectures, his background in theater is obviously. Has the ability to cover alot of information in a short amount of time while keeping it easy to follow and fun. Would highly recommend his class. 10/10 would take again.
i hate english and i took this because i needed it but this lowkey had me loving theatre
He's funny during lecture and even if you're not into the content, he keeps you entertained. My issue is that there's no rubric. Like I have no idea how they were grading us, not to mention they mark hard with vague and unhelpful comments. Tutorials are also useless. Final is decent though, have a decent understanding of stuff and you'll be fine.
Good instructor with interesting lectures. Only thing I would say is that project feedback was not very in-depth. Got a B on a project but all the feedback was positive, so no idea how to improve the next grade. He is easily approachable though so could totally ask him in person.
Professor Budra makes lectures engaging, blending his theater background to keep the class fun and easy to follow. Bring your books for the final, and use unstuck AI to prep - it's a lifesaver!
One of the best teachers, professors, and role models at SFU. He is such a kind and caring individual who will take the time to talk to you about English. He is passionate and FUNNY; if you need a good laugh go take his class. Though there is lots of reading to do, he makes it easy to understand!
Professor Budra is a carrying professor that is very passionate about his work. His love for theatre is what makes the class enjoyable. He genuinely wants you to succeed, and always makes sure his lectures are comprehensible and fun to attend. If his your professor, you're in good hands!!
His lectures are really fun and engaging and his passion for theatre makes it even better. Answered any questions thoroughly and was always available through email/office hours.
Looking for a writing cred that won't bore you to death? Look no further! Prof. Budra's classes were short, sweet, informative and HILARIOUS. I cannot stress how funny and super sweet this guy is. he's super passionate abt his work and his theatrical background is apparent in his teaching. he doesn't post lec slide tho, so make a friend!
Prof Budra is really passionate about theatre and it's definitely reflected in his lectures. Make sure to read the books or at least read sparknotes before lecture, it will make lectures have a lot more sense. Try to remember what he says about the meanings of the plays, it will help in final :)
honestly came into english thinking it was going to be tough, but Paul made it very easy to understand. final exam was easy as long as you understand the themes and core topics, and the final was open text. This is a reading and writing intensive course. so beware
Dr. Budra's interest in theatre is extremely visible throughout his lecture. He takes lots of time to clearly explain the material we cover in the course, and provides detailed feedback on papers. Dr. Budra made his lectures entertaining, and every easy to pay attention to. This is the first English class that I have truly been interested in.
Dr. Budra is FIRE. You will need a lot of books because the course does require readings but they are decent and not too long. Dr. Budra explains the material well and is entertaining. The only thing that makes it difficult is the lack of assignments, but the final helps as a booster since it is open book. Overall, amazing class and professor.
Paul Budra is the best professor I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. His lectures are incredibly engaging and I believe he could make any subject interesting. He explains things very in depth, is hilarious and incredibly kind and approachable. He gave me and my friends free tickets to see his play! I adore him and highly recommend!
TAKE HIS CLASSES. He is my favourite prof; extremely funny, engaging, approachable, and discussion-oriented. He does a great job of making every class fun and thought-provoking. I took his gaming class as someone that NEVER games, and still found it extremely interesting and filled with opportunities for participation. He's super passionate.
Paul is god sent. As someone who hates history, I was nervous to take an English focused on the past. Paul made everything EXTREMELY clear and I always left his lectures confident in what we were taught. He is funny too and definitely easy on the eyes
one of the best profs I've taken. he is such a funny guy and makes the tutorials and lectures enjoyable, he is super easy to approach and gives good feed back on assignment while also being a super quick marker. 100% suggest him as a prof! the one thing i will say is it is a bit difficult to keep up with the readings!
remarkably unhelpful when I really needed his help. I have had many profs and he is amongst my worst experience at SFU
I am convinced that the 5 ratings is Budra doing this himself. There is no way this prof deserves this many 5s. I found him very condescending and him and his TAs move the goal post during the term and his teaching style is to basically just talk at you. Take Everton instead if you are at all able to.
great experience, want to take his class again
