Hes a great teacher. funny. clear and very throrough.. HIs class is insightful and his lectures are engaging. Surveys and CIRCLE TIME are the best. awesome guy. very funny. lectures all class but not boring! NO LAPTOPS. .. circle time and surveys alot and about 6 or 7 short answers the whole semester no tests or quizzs... he gives u a check or check plus on the short answers so DO THEM! easy grade! ... HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy is pretty funny. Class was ok, just make sure you do ALL the short papers. The mid term exam was rather difficult but overall I would recommend this class.

Very Good teacher. His class will keep your attention, especially if you are interested in psychology. The only time you will need the book is to study for midterm and final because his lectures do not cover all the material on them. Overall a pretty easy class , would say he is probably one of the best teachers Ive had.

He's a good teacher. You don't daydream in his class because his lectures are always interesting, even if you're not into psychology. I would recommend this class. It's one you wouldn't forget. Plus he gives us these surveys often which are fun.

Best class everr! Seriously so interesting and a lot of fun, he teaches in a way that you are always siting on the edge of your seat in anticipation to his next interesting subject matter.

This professor is the best. He is extremely understanding and is willing to work with you. I called him 100 times and he never got upset. I have never seen a more calm and dedicated teacher. I highly recommend this professor.

Very sarcastic, write reaction papers every few weeks on things like earliest childhood memory, everyone gets A's. Midterm & Final need to be studied for, basically just use the notes from class & you'll be fine!

He's a really great professor. He has a terrific sense of humor, and he uses it to help you learn the subject matter. You have to study for the midterm and final, but everything else is pretty easy. Take his class!

Intriguing human being. Makes psychology an attractive subject. Looked forward to his classes, and I really appreciated his strangeness. I learned a thing or two about life from him. Will remember him as a teacher.

He is a really funny guy and relates most of the things he says to life. Every now and then he wants you to write a reaction paper which is a complete joke. I didn't even try and I got 85's on them and i suck at writing the tests are hard. Love going to class though

A REALLY easy professor. GPA booster if you need it. We had two exams, both of which are taken from the book's multiple choice practice tests. The opinion papers were the best assignments i've ever had. You can write what you truly feel, i ended with an A the course without any work really

Awesome professor, I transferred from another school and was thrilled to find he was a professor here too! Absolutely love him. He made everything fun, and I learned a lot as well.

He was the best professor I had so far. He was hilarious and made it worth going to class in the morning. Well except for the good morning song so I timed myself to come right as it ended lol. I loved circle time and the reaction papers he had us do. It's a really easy class so I definetly recommand taking him.

I have been to other colleges and graduated and this man changed my life. He is very helpful and you will never be bored in his class. You will learn! he want all his students to do well. BEST

He is hilarious and if you listen and take notes that will be enough to get you an A. You don't really need the text book just use the psychology by myers website for multiple choice EASY A WHILE HAVING FUN

My favorite professor. You will learn so much from him about life and psych. He gives these really fun surveys and their is a lot of class discussion which I enjoyed because I got to hear different perspectives on topics. He is a really easy professor. There are a handful of papers to do, a final, a midterm, and a final project. Extremely easy A

He's awesome! I enjoyed his lectures, his surveys were great, very helpful and sweet, didn't liked the exams, but the reflection papers and project helped out my grade.

He makes lectures very interesting and is constantly cracking jokes. He has us take surveys that are really fun and break up the lectures. Assigns a lot of reaction papers but the lowest grade he gives is an 85. Easy A if you pay attention during class! I would definitely recommend him and take him again :)

No question whether or not you should take Burinskas. He wants you to succeed in his class and he will tell you that. Only get graded on papers, midterm, and final, all of which are not difficult. Not a hard course and he makes it interesting and relatable. Seriously the most enjoyable professor I've had in college. He is absolutely HILARIOUS.

Professor Burinskas is a great man! He's funny, sarcastic, and really cares about his students. The class is really easy and straightforward. He likes to ask for students opinions both in short reaction papers and in class. You'll look forward to attending it every week. Take him!

DR. Burinskas is a nice guy, hes very funny. you only have 2 exams which arent bad. and a few reaction papers which are easy and 1 project which is also easy.

PSY219 was my favorite class this fall semester. Professor Burinskas had a great personality and always went out his way to engage the students during lectures. There are only two tests ( the midterm and the final) You won't need the textbook so don't waste your money renting or buying it. I enjoyed this class and the way in which it was taught.

Such a great guy and an amazing professor. He makes an early morning class easy to get through. Don't buy the textook, you'll waste $50. Just show up to class and listen, do the few easy reflection papers, 1 easy project and midterm&final and you'll get either an A or B. Guarantee nothing lower than that.

I enjoyed his class! He gave easy work and his midterm and final were pretty easy as long as you listened in class and took notes. He's a funny old guy!

Professor Burinskas was honestly the best teacher that I have ever had. I've never had a teacher who cared so much not only about me doing well in the class but also how I was handling life in general. I never once was bored during his lectures. Love this guy! I took him as a nursing prereq and he so great. You write a one page paper on your opinon every few weeks nothing major. He tells you to read the textbook, but you can easily pass just on the lecture. Attendance is never taken, but he doesnt give online notes he just talks so you should go to class as often as possible

Probably my favorite prof at SCSU. I was laughing every class. Hes so funny and sarcastic. Show up to every class its not hard. impossible to fail . only 2 tests but they're not bad. He cares a lot about his students. I miss this class already.

I really enjoyed Professor Burinkas lectures. His class isn't difficult just show up and take notes and you'll do fine. Definitely recommend taking him for PSY 219.

Best professor to take psychology is. He's so knowledgable on the subject and gives awesome stories while teaching. You do need the book to study for exams, but not heavily. He highlights important stuff during lectures, so you can't skip class. Reflection papers are always on your opinion and easy way to boost your grade. Definitely recommend him

Out of my 4 years at Southern, this is by far my favorite professor. He is AMAZING.

Lectures are amazing! Such a funny and kind professor really cares about the students and what he is teaching. Makes sure you understand the course and adds in stories to connect to the information. Wish I could take him again!

Really good Professor. Very funny and explains material very well. Attendance is not mandatory but he does realize who is/isn't in class. Tests can be hard, but he tells you the chapters you need to really study. Would recommend.

You must have a sense of humor. Really caring. Short 1-2 page papers throughout, a project, midterm, and final. Lectures can get off track, but Life Span is an easy class. Tells a lot of stories. Tests all true and false so it is a 50/50 shot on getting it right even if you don't know the answer. Pick 4 open ended from a choice of 20.

Dr. Burinskas managed to make dragging yourself to an 8am class way less stressful. I genuinely enjoyed his lectures, he's an interesting guy with a dry sense of humor. There's a few short reaction papers, midterm, final, and a 3 page project. He also does "circle time" where he asks a question and has each student answer. Fantastic professor!!

Professor Burinskas was a really great professor, a few short papers during the semester, midterm and final, and final project. The lectures were always interesting and fun, students would participate during circle time, and class was not mandatory, but recommended. If you listen to the lectures you will pass. Good professor and would take again!

Great class. The lectures were straight forward and the professor writes out the topics that he will talk about in class. He announces his papers with time and his requirement is 1-2 pages long. Attendance is required and the textbook was used to study for the midterm. The professor jokes about hating us and loving us. 100% recommend as a pre-req.

Super easy professor. Genuinely cares for his students and jokes around with them. Doesnt use power points and lectures are mainly oral. But just read the book. You can find the book for free online. Even the book is easy to read and actually pretty engaging. easy credits. SUPER EASY papers. easy exams. super fun final project.

Amazing, Hilarious, Caring, Flexible etc! I had him 3 semesters in a row and he's just an amazing person. He cracks jokes that will have you raise your eyebrows in surprise but he truly means well! Grades based on reaction paper which are opinion based, midterm, final, and a project. All fairly easy as long as you read the text and show up!

He is a great professor and I really learned a lot throughout the course. You can tell he knows what he is talking about and the lectures are very entertaining. Lectures are mostly oral but he does write down key points on the board. He does take attendance! There are a few papers and then a midterm and final however if you study you will be fine.

Gave papers throughout course relating to topics discussed in lecture. He is very engaging and entertaining. He does not believe in technology and does not use PP (no grades put in too) . He speaks his lectures and laptops and phones aren't allowed (which was fine because his lecture was confined to only his words so it was good to pay attention.

Only part I would say was tricky was the midterm and final. Pay attention to the notes he puts on the board. It was a pretty interesting class.

I've never met a professor quite like him. He made me fall in love with psychology and I actually adding a psych minor because of him. He tells personal stories that relate to what he's talking about in class which makes it really interesting to learn. He's also very old school so no electronics for note taking but that wasn't a big deal. TAKE HIM!

He is so inspiring and engaging! He does not allow phones/laptops and he does not use Blackboard at all which can be difficult but his lectures are so easygoing that it encourages you to pay attention. He is always for a good laugh and he shares a lot of stories both serious and comical. Be ready to participate and study.

Burinskas is EXTREMELY caring and charismatic, but tends to go on tangents and off topic a lot in his class, and will lightly go over concepts and terms on the board like you should already have a solid grasp on a lot of them. Midterms and Final extremely difficult, even with studying for weeks, wish he used blackboard

He is one of the funniest and most interesting professors on campus, he gets off topic quite a lot but it makes the class really enjoyable, and when we do focus on class the subjects are easy to follow, just be ready to take down notes.

Textbook can be found online for free, so don't buy textbook. HE doens't use BB at all. Everything is reaction paper, final interview project, Midterm and Final. He doesn't give study guides, but Midterm and Final are based on lecture and textbook. Exam is basically T or F question and short answer. He curved grade is average of class is low. Study

If you are taking him for a pre-req, definitely do it! He is an amazing professor, makes his class entertaining, he just assigns reaction papers, midterm, a final interview project and the final exam. The exams are T or F and short answer questions.

Professor Burinskas is an amazing professor who cares about his students. He doesn't used technology and doesnt input grades until the end which is a little nerve-wracking. Midterm and final is clear on what he wants us to know, be ready to study alot of terminology. Overall, he is a great guy and need more like him and his style of teaching.
