AWESOME TEACHER!!

This class is a lot of fun, he makes it intersting and very informative. He does like a lot of class participation, so if you don't like that then, he might not be for you. I personally enjoy his class the most out of this semester

good guy. show up for all his classes and get extra credit and don't have to take the midterm. He loves what he does and he helps you out if you are struggling with picking a topic. grades a little hard but offers plenty of extra credit!

He IS a tough grader, but if you take the work seriously, you can earn your good grade. Always willing to help if people ask. True, he may not agree with everyones opinions on current events...but do you? Not a good class for procrastinators though

Took him for summer!! it's is true he does seem to grade easier if a girl is cute, and sucks up to him!!I got a B he never raised it up and didnt except my extra credit, Just be in his good side suck up,make sure you sound interested in your speech!Funny!

He is an extremely difficult grader. This is a subjectively graded course and he is very liberal. Think twice before giving an opinion especially if your conservative. he has many pet peeves which drive everyone crazy but he does tell what is expected

Very clear assignments. Some people thoughthe was a hard grader, but the average grade for our class and his other summer class was a "B".I like his sense of humor, and the discussions of current events, and that he shared his opinion too.

I went into the class scared to death but he made the atmosphere very relaxing. He plays music at the beginning of class which is very helpful before you speak. He gets a little intense if you don't do things his way but I found his way very helpful even after the class was over

Great teacher and a fun class! You can tell that he really cares about what he does. The assignments require good research and organization, but that's key to giving a good speech. He is great, hard grader, totally by the book.

He's a fun teacher who during class time he takes the time to try to explain the assignments, and tries to get his students interested in the class. He also tries to make the class fun and also is always there during his office hrs. and he's willing to listen to you, and takes suggestions very well.He does make a difference!

This instructor is very helpful. He excplains things clearly. He is friendly, and creates a great class atmosphere. He will meet you outside of office hours, and really cares about how you do. I'd recommend him to everyone.

A lot of work for a stupid speech class...mostly busy work and a stupid group project. Exams are EASY!! He uses the practice exams as his real exams word for word. Make sure you get on his good side and you'll for sure get an A.

Really good speech teacher. Really cares about his students. He isnt mean, he just sets rules at the beginning of the semester, like only 3 abaences, and sticks to it. He really wants you to do well and will help you, and makes you feel comfortable with the class. he is funny too. I loved that class exept for the 4 days that i had to do a speech.

Professor Crary is a very nice man and does not expect too much of you as long as you go to class and do his assignments the way he wants. I would recommend him to anyone who has to take speech 1.

Crary is a good man and a kind teacher. Follow his instructions EXACTLY for a good grade. Old school methods and ideologies are a little bothersome, (i.e. insists on library research, discourages internet research).

He is a great teacher and if you do the readings and show up to class it is an easy grade. He is trict on attendance and makes you participate in class. You will learn a lot about living everyday life and talking with others!! Take him.

I enjoyed taking his class even though I hate speech. I followed his outline instructions exactly every time and I got high As. He has his mind set on his teaching method so don’t try and argue with him and you will stay on his good side. Fallow directions and show up to class and you will do fine.

Great teacher and very interesting lectures! Attendance is required and he also gives you 2 "Free" days where you dont have to attend class. His grading is respectively moderate and offers you advice on what you need to improve on etc. Great teacher! Would take another class again!

Crary is a very nice man, and does his best to help each student do their best. He is very personable and talkative. he expects chapter notes to be done at the beginning of every chapter, and they help SO much on the tests...you can use them on the test if you have them to be stamped. i got a lot out of his class, and i'd highly recommend it.

One of the best teachers I've ever had! Cares about his students, wants you to succeed. Very personable and understanding. Going to class is required, but he does allow 3 excused personal days. I got a lot out of this class and highly recommened it to anyone!

I would Definitely reccommend this professor. I took his speech 5 class and I loved it! The study guides for the tests are in the the reserves in the library. (I reccommend copying them. The study guide is the exact test!). There are papers in the class, but they are very easy and short. Very easy class. Just do what he asks and you will do fine.

He's a great teacher!! I loved his class! His tests are very easy, pretty much common sense material! As long as you listen in class you'll do great. He doesnt give out homework. He will let you take notes from the book and use them on the test! DO IT!!

Professor Crary is a great man and teacher. He pushes you to overcome your anxieties about giving speeches. I was terrified, but with Crary's support, it made it less frightening and I left that class feeling much more confidant with public speaking. He is very personable and is easy to contact for help. He is extremely helpful and makes the subject interesting with activities and projects that really help you to comprehend the information. He is REALLY nice and funny. He listens to good music and is extremely approachable and easy to talk to.

Great teacher! Those who are afraid of public speaking dont have to be with this teacher. Makes the whole class feel comfortable. No hw, no book, three outlines for speeches, and attendance is mandatory. I would definately take another of his classes.

such a great teacher. class is a little boring but he is very clear in what he expects. he treats everyone equal, and is always there to help. he was an easy grader, and he makes the class feel comftorable while speaking. i am an average student and i got an easy A. i definitely recommend him for first time students taking speech.

Professor crary is wonderful! He is a very kind person and very helpful. The class might be boring at times, but what class isen't? He is an easy grader and doesnt ask a lot from you. Just do your work! I HATE speaking infront of people, but he made it so much easier for me. You can learn a lot from him and actually use it in everyday life!

I don't understand what everyone is saying. He is a great teacher. Yes he is picky but that just means that YOU DIDN'T DO THE WORK! Yes people, you have to work to get an A but, its worth it. He makes you feel comfortable. Great class! Passes with flying colors! Just make sure your there EVERYDAY! It's a part of your grade... u get EC!!!! TAKE HIM!

It's a shame that Spring 10 is his last semester. If you're looking at ratings for Spring 10 teachers then by all means take Crary. He's a very nice speech teacher who's passionate about what he teaches. Homework is speeches, midterm is not mandatory with high attendance, and no notes, as all the info's in the class papers.

Too bad he's retiring. You're missing out on a really good teacher.
