Cool teacher, keeps class light and he will go out of his way to help.

His tests are hard because they cover alot of material. My suggestion would be flash cards. He is very helpful and offers an extra credit paper. Overall I enjoyed the class and learned alot.

Earth Sci Lab. His tests are very easy if you study and ask him questions when needed. There is no excuse for people who dont get an A from this guy. He is nice and friendly and a bit querky but all around good guy.

He is so funny. He knows what he is talking about, though it might not seem like it. All you have to do is show up, get the notes, sleep through class, study for the test, and get an "A". He is really easy, and definitely understands that the majority of students aren't majoring in Earth Science.

This guy is great. I enjoyed his class so much. He totally cracked me up and I had fun in his class, test cover alot, but flashcards are the way to go to study. The review sheets he gives are really close to the testing material. Your a fool if you dont take him

I had Professor Cutlip the first semester he ever taught and it was hard! He had to curve all the tests just in order to get a C average for the class. Maybe after a year teaching, he is easier.. but I'm a straight A student and got a C in his class! He is a nice guy though, and he will help you out if you have any problems or questions.

GREAT teacher! Notes are cut-n-dry, to the point, no useless information. Tests are straight from the notes...study and you'll get an A. Offers extra credit paper, but I can't imagine why you would need it. I wish he taught other science classes. No brainer...enroll in his class.

Awesome teacher!! He teaches on powerpoint and his notes (along with last semester's tests) are online for students. In my class he dropped the lowest (of three) test scores AND if you were getting a C for example in the class and took the exam and got a B, He'd give you the B foryour grade in the class. Take him if you need a science class!!!!!

Professor Cutlip knows his stuff. He is quirky and, if you listen, FUNNY. Pay attention and you will learn AND pass the class with relative ease. He is interesed in helping all students pass and will go out of his way to help you. If you need to reach him, email is the way to go. His eyes are mesmerizing. By far the bluest I have ever seen.

I had him for Earth Science Lab. He is very patient and will answer all your questions. If you study the labs you will ace the tests. Highly recommend!

I have taken two of Professor Cutlip's classes. He knows his stuff, and he's willing to help when you don't know yours. As long as you pay attention in class and study the lab exercises you really shouldn't have trouble passing the class. He usually gives opportunities for extra credit. I'd take other classes of his if he offered them.

Professor Cutlip is a laid back Professor; nevertheless, he manages to get things done. Although he is not always punctual, he is considerate and passionate in his teaching style.

Took his Earth Science class and lab. Wants you to do well. One of the best science teachers I've ever had. Very good at explaining things. Normal, laid back, nice, helpful, understanding, good guy. I'm not interested in Earth Science at all so everything he teaches is over my head. I've studied his notes and reviews and still don't do well on the exams.

This was a lab course. He is very nice and helpful, but breezes through the labs in each class. Make sure you study for the tests!! We had 3 tests total. We never stayed the whole class either. This was a night course from 7-9:40p, and we were out by 8:30p every time. So that was nice.

Prof Cutlip ROCKS. He is so easygoing. He makes tests understandable but not so easy that you can't study to pass them. He is a geologist by trade. He knows earth science.

Cutilp is an awesome teacher. The lectures were interesting and you could always go to him for help. The only downer was his tests, you HAVE to study. Reviews and notes are always on angel and you can just print them out. Take his lab with lecture, you learn and test on the same information!

Awesome teacher! Best sci teacher i ever took. Nice and helpful and SHOCK--he's actually interested in what he teaches and will actaully answer any question you have. Yes, his tests are hard. BUT he gives HUGE curves. Every1 failed one test and the curve was 14 points!! Plus he gives extra credit. His lab is the same. Def recommend to everyone.

Professor Cutlip is an excellent teacher who grades on a curve for test, does not require attendance but hightly recommended does not uses text books (saves money) and understands a lot of student are not science majors. If anytime you have a question for him he will take ample time out of schedule to make sure you understand the subject.

LAb. You take three tests and the average is your grade. The hardest was memorizing rocks and minerals, but he makes that as easy as it can be. Before each test he goes over exactly what you need to know for the test and nothing more. Best choice for Sci lab.

With Lab. Cutlip is an outstanding teacher. From the perspective of an older student, I learned more from him in 10 weeks than my whole life in a subject area I never put much consideration into. He provided the keys to many scientific areas I've always wondered about. If you take any of Prof Cutlip's, you'll be glad you did.

Paul Cutlip was the best teacher I have ever had. Every week I found new things to be amazed by. I wasn't interested in science but now I am applying for science courses, all thanks to Professor Cutlip! I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Very interesting course, but its all tests. He gives extra credit and has recently moved his tests to online. He gives you the option to take the tests in class though. Don't need the book just print out the lecture notes and do the reviews and study them more than one day before the test.

He is amazing! Gives lots of help no need for a book offers great extra credit and he even drops the lowest test grade is always willing to help out anyway possible...all you need to do is print the notes off line and study for the tests and its really easy to pass the class plus the class is WAY fun!

I took him for the Earth Science Lab. I believe I showed up to class more than he did. There were only two tests. I studied for each one in my car for about 15 mins before class. EASY A

You do not need the book. He is very flexible with his students and is very passionate on the subject matters. No homework. Study off his "master notes" and you will get an A.

Don't really know what you want to do in college? Take this class. This course can give you a great overview of many different subjects and future job opportunities. Professor is great, as many have said, has a passion for what he does and will teach you as much or as little about the subjects as you want. That said, he's often late on grades/class

I took him for lab but not the class. He's a really nice guy and very clear while instructing. But I took a lab class and did almost NO lab experiments...just paperwork that I could've done in my sleep, which is a letdown. And his lab class was very far ahead of all the regular classes which isn't very organized in my opinion. He's an easy A.

I hated science before I took this class. Professor Cutlip made it so interesting that I actually invested in a telescope to examine the moon. This is NOT an easy A class, I studied for hours to pass the tests. It is worth it though this class is so interesting!

His lectures are interesting and he has a sense of humor. He gives you notes and a test review for each test. Three main tests and the lowest dropped...then your final. This is not an easy A class and does require a lot of studying for each test. Make sure you learn and understand all the notes and review questions.

Had him for Earth Science over the summer. Great teacher. Really really knows his stuff. he provides power points and study guides so you dont need a book at all, but you really have to study for his tests as they are kind of hard.. overall GREAT TEACHER** very helpful too!! One of the easiest classes in the world. This guy will basically walk you through class. He tells you what is on the test and provides a study guide. No hw and 4 test plus final. He will also drop the lowest test score. Doesn't keep attendance, I never came to class and finished with a high B. All I did was study for the tests. Gives extra credit.

This lab is exra easy.There is only 2 test & class exsercises that count as a have of you grade.The class assig. are extremely easy & is the same material that going to be on test. reccomend to take this lab on summer,he ends up eliminating a lot due to the short amount of time.1st test about the assigments in class.2nd only to name 15 minerals.

Easy A. Take it on summer & it's more convinient. There are 3 test and I final. During summer is no to mmuch time so he'll end up eliminating a test. so you'll only have 3 test and he drops the lower score. No use of the book, extra credit easy and it add 5% to you grade so I recommend that you do it. An easy A....

One of the best professors SPC has to offer. Highly qualified (PHD from Texas A &M). Explains lectures with helpful videos and diagrams. Knows his audience and lectures in an entertaining fashion.

Cool guy, his lectures are him reading straight from the powerpoints, he doesn't require you to buy the book so don't. He doesn't use it at all! Given three tests he automatically takes your grade from the last one but he chooses your highest grade from the first two. No homework, lets you earn EC for 5 points at the end of the semester too!

I would definitely take Professor Cutlip again! He gets so excited when lecturing and you can tell he truly loves what he does. Dr. Cutlip is amazing! He has long, but very interesting lectures (everyone shows up to class even though attendance isn't mandatory!) There is no book required, 3 texts, and no midterm/final! Class never runs the full time!

This class isn't very hard. Lectures and study guides are online, homework is a completion grade, and there is no final. Professor can be scatterbrained at times, but he gives good lectures and explains things very clearly. He's a very laid back guy, so don't be intimidated if you need to ask for help or something. There are a total of 3 tests.

Professor Cutlip is the professor you want for this course. His priority is your learning not ensuring that his course is difficult. He tells you exactly what will be on the exam, doesn't take attendance, and basically gives you an A on his homework, so long as you try. He is hilarious and made learning about rocks interesting. My favorite teacher!

Loved this class. Not a hard grader at all! Do the homework assignment/lab and you get a 100% There are 3 tests and all were a little tricky, but not terrible. It was supposed to be a two hour and 15 minute class, went for at most an hour and a half. Would take again!

Incredibly understanding!!! Impossible not to pass. All grades other than tests are based on effort and make up 66% of grade. Have to study for tests but possible to get B without best test grades. Dr. Cutlip is definitely my favorite professor that I've had at SPC. He explains the material in terms those who aren't familiar with science are able to understand. Attendance isn't really mandatory, but if you want an A, I suggest going. Plus it's genuinely really interesting. 3 Tests, 3 short papers, some labs. Easy A if you try.

Professor Cutlip is an amazing instructor and I wish he did more class. Also, I'm taking him for Historical Geology during the summer term. He's very respectful and understanding if you have any problems just go and talk with him. He's one of the small percent of teacher here who wants all his students to pass his courses.

Dr. Cutlip is a phenomenal teacher, he is a bit unorganized when it comes to projects and tests. He is definitely a mentor and someone I would look to for guidance once I begin teaching students.

Prof Cutlip is a great guy and teacher he combines science with History my favorite lectures from him is space and some palaeontology Dinosaurs if you ask a question he loves to go into detail. This is a person I wouldnt mind going out in the field with and look for fossils.

Gets down to the foundation of what you'll need to pass in an interesting way. Reviews before tests. Lots of opportunities to make up work and lectures. Funny and down-to-earth. Easy and slow. Great guy.

Prof Cutlip is one the best Science teachers out there. the class is fun, he's not a boring teacher, in fact the way he lecture will make want to switch your major to science if you one of those students who doesn'tknow what you want to be in life. Has 4 tests the entire year with study guides provided which are the actual test in order only 60% of total grade. There is no homework and no textbook. There are lab exercises that are purely graded on participation and he does not take attendance at all.

This professor is amazing! He made earth science so interesting, and his lectures are short and to the point. He is extremely understanding, and all work can be made up. Tests are challenging, but a review is given and if you study you'll be fine. There is no homework besides labs and 3 tests. Highly recommend taking him for any science class!

Prof Cutlip allows for the 1st 3 Modules to be worked by the mid-term & next 3 are due by Finals. He quickly answered any questions I had & graded assignments quickly. There is ALOT of reading & time-consuming labs, not hard but lengthy & the quizzes are a bit tricky so be prepared to do a lot of work. Nothing crazy, easier than I thought it'd be.

Earth Science 1000C is a great course to obtain your "lab" science component for an AA or Bachelor's degree. No homework unless you miss an in-class lab, only 3 exams, and no textbook required. Prof Cutlip is funny and engaging with lectures. You have to try hard to not get an A in the class! Lots of extra credit given!

Dr. Cutlip was a great professor. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Earth Science. Personally, I thought the class was rather easy, but I have an affinity for geology and astronomy so I knew most of the material already.

Took his class online during covid and he's amazing. He made videos explaining assignments if students were confused, and all the assignments were due by midterms and finals, which made it less stressful if I had to skip homework for a week or two when I was sick. You can easily keep up if you do about 2 or 3 assignments a week.

Professor Cutlip is great. He goes above and beyond to ensure you understand the material (YouTube videos, private meetings, e-mails, etc.) and is really lenient about due dates. There are a lot of assignments, but he's an easy grader. Proctored midterm and final. Overall, a cool guy who loves what he does.

There are no due dates, as long as you have it done by the exams, you are good!

We used online books/resources and you don't have to pay for them. He is an amazing professor who knows what he is talking about. However, be ready to read; time management is IMPORTANT. He will answer any of your doubts anytime. Each module has a quiz, reading, short activity, and other activities related to the reading.

Professor Cutlip was amazing. If you do exactly what he tells you to do as in follow the syllabus, try your best on the lab assignments, and study the quizzes you will pass the class. If you don't know the answer to something that is ok just ask him he will help you. He makes class very interesting and will work with you.

There are only two due dates; before the midterm exam and the last exam. He has a great personality too.

Professor Cutlip is one of my favorite teachers. I took him in the summer and the work was not overwhelming. There are 3 tests and 11 labs with a test review sheet for all tests. If you study them, you will do well on the tests. His lectures are posted online if you miss class. Responds to emails quickly and will meet outside class if you need to.

One of the easiest classes I have taken. There were a few labs, a 1000-word paper, and two unit tests. The tests are done through honor lock. The whole test comes from the review sheet. If you do and study the review sheet you will be fine. All the lectures were prerecorded and easy to watch back. All work is due the morning the semester ends.

Super easy class. All labs were online. Some had a little video to introduce it and walk you through what to do. Basically, all labs were graded on completion. If you missed class, the lecture was posted online. There were three unit tests. All the material on the tests came from the study guide. If you study and do the labs you will be fine.

To be honest, I didn't even start working on this class until the week before the semester ended and I still managed to finish every assignment with ease and received an A. He has a great sense of humor and is very passionate about what he does. I highly recommend Mr. Cutlip to anyone considering choosing him as a professor. Don't wait like me tho.

Professor Cutlip was probably my best professor at SPC. He's very passionate about what he teaches and makes his lectures entertaining. Labs are online and a completion grade. Only lectures 1 hour of the 2 hr 15 min block. Only downside is 3 in-person 50 question unit tests, however he provides plenty of study materials to help you do well.

Good professor, he is really nice and chill. He does not take 2 hours and 15 minutes to lecture but only 40 minutes to 1-hour lectures. But he is late to class a lot.

I took this class over the summer, and honestly, most straightforward science class I've taken. He doesn't try to trick you or put something unexpected on the test. He gives a review. It's all up to you to study after the lectures.

I really like Professor Cutlip's set up for online classes, There is zero due dates besides the mid term and final. He gives you multiple modules all due on Dec 7th. You pretty much get to decide how fast you want to complete the class although im not sure if all his classes are like this, I really recommend taking this class. Very easy/informative

Mr Cutlip is amazing, he is very clear on his expectations and very quick to answer any questions you have. grading heavily based on the unit test but incredibly easy. He provided study guides and a video for all test. labs are in class, if you miss makeup is online but a little more effort to complete. This class was amazing and so is Mr. Cutlip!

Over all he has been an absolutely fantastic professor, 10/10 would take a class with him again. He is very clear about his expectations for his class and all work, he is also extremely understanding when life gets in the way and will do what he can to help any of his students.

First professor that made me engaged in a science course. You can tell he enjoys what he teaches and His lectures are short (30 mins-1 hr.) All our labs were online except for 1, which was just observing rocks. He provides study guides for all his Tests/ tells you what to see. gives you the whole semester to turn in work but don't procrastinate.

Professor Cutlip is amazing. I wish I had room in my schedule to take him again because I 100% would. Earth Science was such an interesting class. He made all topics enjoyable and he is the type of professor that is clearly passionate about what he teaches. The class is extremely easy but again- not boring. Super nice guy. Take him!

Professor Cutlip is obviously very passionate about what he does and will happily take any science questions you have, regardless of whether or not it's being covered in any of the tests. He really cares about his students, he even helped me ID a rock that I personally owned. He's also super flexible about test dates and the like.

Best professor ever, he makes his class so enjoyable and easy to understand. He is also really funny and flexible If you have the chance definitely take his earth science class I personally loved it

So far, Prof. Cutlip is great. He gives out study guides well in advance and gives a lot of prep for tests. His lectures are literally the best I've seen and he really cares about making subjects easy to understand.

Professor Cutlip makes this class really enjoyable. Lectures are engaging, and he's always willing to help. Assignments are manageable, and Unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the provided materials. Definitely recommend taking this class!

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I have never enjoyed a class as much as I enjoyed Geology with him. I was referred to him by a colleague and he exceeded my expectations. The different types of projects, concept sketches, even "field trips" throughout the course made me really appreciate the course the materials and his efforts as a professor.

Genuinely one of the best professors I have taken. His lectures are amazing and he is incredibly lenient with when you turn in your work. You can tell he really cares about the subject he teaches :)

Professor Cutlip is amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I actually enjoyed science for once while taking his class. There's lots of online labs but they are fairly easy and as long as you study, you will do well on the tests. Highly recommend him!

Professor Cutlip is great. Work was clear and easy, mainly readings, sketches, discussions, quizzes and other work. Midterm and final, but open book and not proctored. He did not really answer emails, which kinda sucked but he does send emails to everyone as updates.

Professor Cutlip didn't have due dates, which I liked. He took a little while to grade things, but he emailed us to let us know that he had things going on for work or something personally which I didn't mind. He responded to my comments on my submissions and was very kind. Very easy A+ if you can keep up with no due dates.

Professor Cutlip is just the bee's knees. I'm so grateful to have has a professor like him. you can tell he genuinely cares about his students, and he is so passionate about what he teaches, he makes it so easy to stay engaged in his lectures. I hope to have a professor like him again.
