He is a really inspired guy. He gives a lot of creative freedom and a lot of constructive critisism. His classes are fun and informative, he keeps attention well. It's a class that i don't ever want to skip....and that's saying a lot.

Business writing is awesome. Paul's teaching style hasn't disappointed me yet. Every moment of the class is entertaining even when it comes to writing the papers. and if there is any professor who will do anything to help his students Paul is the guy to go to.

Paul DeMarte is a super easy teacher and really laid back and easy-going. He's also funny and the ladies find him attractive so I hear. Anyway, he doesn't really get mad if you're late I was late almost every day by 2-7 minutes and he didn't care, maybe because I was quiet and wrote good essays for him. Easy A even for those who struggle in English

Probably my favorite English teacher; laid back and clam, plus always helpful. He has a lot of international students in his class so he's really good at explaining things to people where English is their second language. He also reads through your rough drafts and gives you direct feedback which I personally love.

He is one of my favorite teacher on campus because in class disscusions we talked about interesting topics and if you ever need help he is always helpful.

I love Paul. He is an amazing teacher and is always willing to help you. He does have an attendance policy, but is very understanding and will work with you. Though I will caution if you're not willing to help yourself or listen to his instructions about assignments (he normally tells you what needs to be done 5Xs) then he won't help you as much.

If everyone is too quiet in class, he'll let someone throw chalk at the board so everyone can wake up xD He cusses a lot which is funny. Very laid back guy. Professional, and funny. I took 1020 and 2030 with him, wish i can take more.

Paul is one of the best teachers I've had. He's easy, very helpful,funny and respect your opinion. He grades your paper right in front of you and lets you see what's right or wrong. He gives out, not just the usual "this is wrong" but actual helpful and positive comments. I took 2 classes with him, about to take 3rd one. Definitely recommend.

Paul was incredible. He made me enjoy writing again. If you show up and follow his assignment outlines you will do fine. He's super chill and loves the weird. I wrote my final 10 page paper on ghosts and got 100% in the class. He's completely honest with his students and understands how we think. Would love to take another class with him.

Demarte is a professor that will always be there for you. He has a good sense of humor and gives good feedback that will slowly develop you into an exceptional writer. His classes consist of optional pop quizzes, funinteresting videos (such as Rush Hour and Anthony Bourdain), and crystal-clear crash course english lessons. Overall, a must take.

Amazing professor!

I took this Comp 1 and Comp 2 and I couldn't be any happier. Although I'm a bad writer, he gives the best feedbacks and he's also clear as to what he wants.

Paul is an amazing professor and i would highly recommend taking an English class with him. You will have to work in his class, but he will make sure you pass as he is very good at giving feedback and making sure you know what you need to do. Great class and Great Professor!

Amazing is the best word to use for him. He's definitely the most amazing professor I've had at the school. If you have the option of taking any class with him you should. When he says he checks his email every hour of the day he is not kidding. He makes himself extremely available.

Professor Demarte is one of the coolest teachers ever. He's always available, gives good feedback and is honest. Classes are fun, he creates an awesome vibe and is so damn funny. He does quiz you on readings though, but they're super easy. He also likes to go by the name Man Stallion. Take his classes whenever you have the chance to!

The best english teacher ever!

Very hands-on when grading papers. If you're taking him for comp I or comp II, I defiantly recommend. It's an easy class as long as you keep up with the readings (very few) and turn in your essays on time

Absolutely amazing. When he announces the next assignment, it's clear what is expected and as long as you do it, you'll get full credits. He makes writing papers extremely easy compared to others professors and is always available to help.

I don't think of Composition 1 as a difficult class to pass, provided you have a good attendance and do the work. This professor was really great, especially in that he provided class time to get feedback on drafts from students and himself. DeMarte is a funny and easy-going professor-- 10/10 would recommend.

I don't know what to start with. HE IS THE BEST. I seriously can't find words to describe him. If you haven't taken core composition 1 and 2 please take them with him I regretted not taking core composition 1 with him. He Is caring, respectful, straightforward. Also if your English was not your first language then it's a must for you to take him.

Paul is the best! Hes one of the only professors willing to look at a paper before the due date and give actual feedback. He so helpful outside of class and is very easy to get along with in class. He really understands his students and is very understanding if something comes up.

Paul Demarte is the coolest teacher I have ever had. He is super understanding and works with you. He gives feedback on your essays as well. He would sometimes put on Netflix which was cool, and talk about weird and cool topics. He does not require a lot of work, you just have to write essays, which he does not grade harshly. We also had no final.

Day-to-day lectures don't have any substance, which is probably why attendance is mandatory. However, he's great at explaining assignments in class and setting you up for success. Definitely an easy A if you put in the work to write a decent term paper (super lax grader too). Highly recommend for anyone just taking these classes as just gen. ed's!

Paul is the BEST professor out there! He gives feedback TWICE that you get to fix before he actually grades your paper. Usually he would give feed back once then by the second time he would tell everyone they had an A paper and should turn it in early. I HATE writing essays, but he made it so much more fun and easy. He is also HILARIOUS.

Prof. DeMarte is the embodiment of what an English teacher should be. Beyond set techniques and grammatical rules, he allows you to explore your topic and write it your way. He doesn't nitpick and alter it to what his ideal "rhetorical paper" is. It is entirely up to you, and as long as you are writing coherently and effectively, you will do well.

Overall, he is a very nice cool teacher. I'm amazed by his talking ability, he could talk literally like 2 hours long or even more during his lecture continuously. I'm taking a summer class with him, he gives a 15 mins break on every class day. He's very funny, always telling you a lot of interesting stories. Wish every professor would be like him.

This is a really easy class. Attendence is mandatory. There are 4 papers all semester and he gives unlimited feedback during 2 peer review classes before the paper is due. There are text book readings but they are short, only 1-5 pages in the textbook. There are quizes on these readings but the question is always "What was the reading about?"

Paul is one of my favorite professors at this school! He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He understands that a lot of his students have a heavy class load so he tries to minimize excessive amounts of homework and tries to make class fun! 10/10 would recommend!

HE IS THE BEST. He is one of the only English teachers Ive had that reads your essays & gives GOOD feedback before the actual submission. The feedback basically shows what grade you will get & he gives LOTS of positive feedback. If you fix whatever he mentions, you will get an A. He cares about his students and wants everyone to pass and benefit!

This was the only class i enjoyed this semester. He is an amazing professor and he really care about you and your work. He really does connect with his students and it makes it a welcoming environment. It is really easy to pass this class as long as you follow along with each week and don't fall behind. I highly recommend taking his class.

Paul is amazing and really respects everyone in his class. Even being online I found this class to be a very entertaining and I believe Paul was the reason for that. It was the least awkward online class I have been apart of. He gives great feedback and if you listen to his comments on your papers you will do great in his class.

Paul is AMAZING! By far one of my favorite professors at CU Denver. He responds to all emails within a 24 hour period and gives amazing feedback on papers. His lectures were actually fun.

Aside from some of his tangents possibly lasting a little too long, Paul is a really solid professor all around. He doesn't believe in giving his students busy work, which is a relief, and means what you learn sticks a lot better. The couple of papers you get aren't too bad as long as you don't procrastinate, and he gives good feedback in return.

Best online professor I've had so far. Not an overload of work, the final is a big paper but you work on it all semester. Any readings he gives are short and easy, and i dont like to read. Paul is a great guy and wants you to succeed.

Probably my favorite professor in my six years at CU Denver, even as a political science major. Also, if you ask nicely, Paul will play guitar, bass, or keyboard in your band as a session member.

Paul was great. He really cared about our learning and didn't want to waste our time. He gave great feedback for you to revise your work. he is not strict on how you should write a paper and you have creative freedom to write whatever you want with some limitations on certain papers.

One of my favorite professors so far upon entering college. Only three major assignments in the semester with very clear guidelines and plenty of time to complete. Fun guy to be around in general, classes were never boring, he'd always spice up the lectures with his humor. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to receive an easy A.

Paul has been my favorite prof. so far. There's a book listed but you can get away w/ not reading it, mainly to help w/ final paper. He's very funny and understanding. The final paper makes up the majority of the second half of the semester so be prepared for that. If you ask questions and participate you'll do great! Attendance matters!

Such a great teacher! Although there are a good amount of essays due throughout the semester, the topics are very broad, which allows you to write about things you're actually interested in. The class discussions were always super fun and I highly recommend Paul!

I liked this class's format a lot. Lectures are engaging, and teacher is transparent. All the rules he sets are well defined and hard to miss. Clear expectations, good support, and good vibes. All around a solid teacher. Just does everything well, and is a very quick grader too! Would recommend.

Easy A, however will not let you redo quizzes taken on the first week even if you weren't enrolled in his class at the time. I didn't need the book, he gives clear feedback, and helps you get an A. I had personal issues during the semester but he still made sure I ended the class with a B despite my absences. I loved writing for this class, felt encouraged to express myself and he's a kind person who really encouraged conversations for our writing.
