He's very liberal with points, very helpful if you ask but you have to do your work. It's hard work too. I would take any class he teaches. PERIOD.

I have taken many college level biology courses, but have NEVER encountered a more passionate, engaging, caring, helpful professor. He actually TEACHES- and doesn't just tell you to read chapters in a book. You are lucky if you get a chance to learn with him.

We have not received one graded assignment all semester! It is Nov. and I have no idea where I stand. Took this professor at the recommendation of other students. Is a good teacher if you do not mind guessing what your grade will be.

He is a great teacher who is very passionate about what he teaches. His tests are fair but only if you studied. He doesn't give back ANY of the assignments so it's tough to know your grade. However, he designs his class so that you have many chances to get points, so for me it wasn't that big of an issue. Overall, I enjoyed his class.

Prof. E is a PHENOMONAL Instructor!! He is ALL about his students and their success in his class. He joins study groups if you ask, and responds to emails/messages quickly regardless of the time. You just have to actually study the material and attend labs and its an easy B+/A-. I wish he could teach ALL of my classes..no exaggeration. :-)

Physiology is not an easy subject in general.Emerick presents the material in a way that is easily managed if you do the work.Management of the class is strict, but fair.Put in the time and do the work you will have no problem getting an A in the course. Many times instructors at collegelevel know their field but can't teach. Emerick is a teacher.

Hes is amazing. Phys is an extremely difficult subject and he teaches the material in a clear, consise manner. He helps you to understand and learn. Hes super helpful. Just dont let you cell phone go off in his class.

Amazing teacher!! This class is not easy and prof emerick makes sure you understand everything even if it means going over it many times. Makes lecture and lab as fun and interesting as possible, very fair grader. Great professor. He knows his stuff, and he knows how to make a difficult subject understandable. The only complaint I had with this class is how little feedback we received from labs and other assignments.

He is very good teacher ,but he does not hand anything back, so if you wanted to know your grade so far you are stuck waiting until the end of the semster to see your grade.This class require a lot study and understanding what is being taught to you to pass but it worth it.

He doesn't give a lot of papers back once you hand them in or post grades online often. I'm halfway through a semester and we've done many quizzes and such, and I only know 1 test grade so far. Other than that, he is a phenomenal teacher. He is always willing to help you understand, which is good because physiology is a difficult subject.

Emerick is a great professor, just listen to him and don't make him mad! he has certain things he really doesn't like which are not hard to follow. Tests were really difficult and you need to study! do the learn smarts and prefecture quizzes they boost your grade and talk to him! he's really easy going. Also don't use your cell or interrupt him !

I have never been more frustrated with a professor. It is the second-to-last day of school today, and 35 grades are still missing from Angel, all worth 10 to 25 pts. I have no idea what my grade will be because he is so unorganized. Other than that, he is very helpful and knows his stuff. Good luck ever knowing your grades- right up until the end.

I really like Emerick he is definitely my favorite professor so far ! Yes he doesn't get everything back but it's okay! He cares a lot about his students just give him the respect he deserves. Work hard and ask for help if you need it !

Prof. Emerick is a really down-to-earth guy and is always willing to help you out even when it's not during his office hours. He's always happy which makes you in a good mood too. He did talk a little too fast for me to keep up with notes but i just recorded his lectures. If you just stick with him and study hard, you won't fail.

Professor Emerick was a decent professor. Don't expect to get your work back in reasonable time though. Along with that, tests will be very hard but the points add up rapidly. Before the final exam I had a B, got a 78% on the final and my grade magically raised to an A- with lab and homework points added in. Many opportunities to raise the grade

I took his nutrition class. It was pretty easy without much work I got an A. Go to class and do your final project, which is not hard either. No final or midterm just 4 tests. Decent guy knows a lot about what he teaches. LOTs of powerpoint

I wasn't too thrilled at first.. the tests were so hard and somewhat advanced for an introductory course. He is a great professor. He make sure you understand the topic. He likes to help and cares about students. READ the book before class!!!

This class is very hard. It is a very in depth and involved topic.. not easy for beginners. Professor Emerick does his best to break it down in terms the beginner will understand. Reading the book before class is MANDATORY! Fast pace! He is more than fair in how he grades. His tests are very hard!His wit and lack of filter makes this class fun!

I took bio117 and bio123 with him. he is a decent professor. he knows his stuff and cares about his students. he claims he doesn't want to lecture all the time and do hands on activities, but that's not true - he lectures all the time. oh and don't use your phone...

Great teacher, really cares about his students and is willing to help. Tries to make science as easy as he can for those who struggle with it. Overall a down to earth guy. Definitely recommend taking him.

All I can say is, Emerick REALLY does care about his students. My health has cause me to miss some class/exam 1 & he was kind enough to let me have an extension and make it up. As long as you show him you're trying to do well, he will help you anyway he can! HIGHLY recommend him. Plus hes is extremely kind/helpful, and makes learning biology easy!

Professor Emerick is an awesome professor that is very clear as to what he expects from each student. His tests are about average difficulty if you study for them. He makes his subjects interesting and keeps you focused in class by using real life applications. He's quick to offer extra credit points you just have to be willing to get them!

Professor E was the best I had at MCC. He was incredibly helpful, and his labs are super fun. Take good notes and study. The online homework is very easy. I found it helpful to use those to study for the tests. Any help I needed he was right there. HE IS AWESOME. Lecture attendance wasn't mandatory for him, lab was.

He will not hand you an A, but if you listen to him and go to him when you need help it's very possible you will get one! He is very intelligent and so funny, which makes him HOT!

I'm blown away by how much Prof. Emerick will go out of his way to help his students. The class seemed disorganized at first, but he has a system that works. He is very patient in answering questions, won't make anyone feel dumb for not understanding something, and is great about reminding you about upcoming assignments. His tests aren't too bad.

Physiology was my toughest class I had to take but with a lot of encouragement and a willing teacher to make sure you pass it was an easy B+. Professor Emerick is goofy and makes strange connections between material, but that's what helped me understand it. He gives out ALOT of extra credit, so do it even if you are doing well at first!

He's a really nice guy. I really like how simple he made it because he understood that most people in the class took it as an elective. Just don't use your phone during class.

This man is an absolute gem! He is ridiculously cute and he is so charismatic that there is no chance of ever dozing off in his class. You will fair well if you take a course with him.

This is a hard class! If I didn't have Emerick to break it down, I would crawl up in a ball and cry myself to sleep every night. He makes everything so clear! His class is fun and he has such a good sense of humor! I will be taking every class that he offers! I do have a little bit of a crush. :)

He takes biology teems and relates them to relatable topics easier for students to understand. He makes class fun and he is a very respectable professor. I thouroughly enjoyed going to class.

It is not an easy class to pass but if you show up, do the work, and most importantly LISTEN TO HIM it is impossible not to pass his class. You have two-three easy assignments per week that are online - and he fully admits you can google the answers. It's not an easy A but he gives you every chance possible for it.

Not an easy class to begin with, but he does everything he can to help his students. Tells you exactly what you need to study. Do the homework, study the guides he gives you and you're golden!

Test review sheets are harder than the tests, but tests are not EASY but doable. Got A's on all of them. He is highly motivating, THE BEST prof you will have at MCC. Take all his classes you can!

He takes a lot of care into ensuring that students understand the material. He makes the information easier to understand. He has created a teaching method that works well with student's learning methods. His assignments were helpful for understanding the material. This is a professor that really cares about his students. His main interest is finding ways to explain the material so everyone can understand it. We were given study guides for what to expect on the tests. He spent time with all of the students during the labs to make sure all questions were answered. I would highly recommend him.

Prof. Emerick was my professor for a 1 credit hour lab class that accompanied human biology. The lab was more complicated and time consuming than the 3 credit hr lecture class. The lab manual was terrible. But Prof. E was fantastic about being realistic and adjusting the manual and labs as needed. He cares a lot about your success and shows it.

He doesn't make exams a "guessing game." Instead, he puts heavy emphasis on what you need to know. He also offers tons of extra credit.

Professor E, was a terrific professor, he was not only a great professor but also an academic coach. He provided studying strategies for more difficult material. He used visual aides more than just lecture through the material, awesome technique. he was clear in his knowledge and used many examples to help his students. He'S the Bomb.

Amazing teacher! I took Bio 145 during the summer and passed with a 97%. His power points helped but you definitely still need to read the book. He gives you a ton of opportunity to receive extra credit. Takes FOREVER to grade but cares about his students and wants you to succeed. CELL PHONES make sure they are off during his classes !

Almost every good thing could apply to him. He is the perfect professor to take to understand something. Doesn't worry about anatomy. Teaches process. Funny. Accessible. HUGE buffer for grade. Can do most assignments day of. READ TEXTBOOK. Chill labs. Ask him Q's. If you're weary, take him. He's rated high because he is that good.

SLOWEST GRADER IVE EVER HAD seriously, he's great and he's clear and accessible and all that stuff, and I would take him again if I had to..but I'm glad I don't. I just seriously cannot cope with how slowly he gets grades back to us. be prepared to wait literal months for grades.

Good lectures, but fast + hard to keep up with if you're trying to take notes!! But he posts recordings of his lectures online as well. Labs are pretty cool. Only 4 lab quizzes, spaced out. Provides clear study guides for tests. Pretty funny and keeps it interesting

I cannot say enough about Prof.Emerick. He is by far the best teacher I've ever had. He really wants his students to succeed and is very reasonable with everything he does. I would give 10/10. He cares about his student and is always willing to go above and beyond for each one.

Go to office hours, show that you care, communicate with him. He will give hints in lecture as to where he goes on his tests. Quizes are straight forward. Listen and take notes in lecture and listen to pre recorded lecture. As long as you show you care he will as well. Very straight forward and will help you find study techniques to help you.

If you plan on taking A&P 2 take it with Professor Emerick! He offers extra credit and is very clear as to where he goes/what types of questions he asks on his exams. This is a tough class but he makes it very clear and explains difficult concepts very well.

The material was tough yet he explains things in ways that are easier to comprehend and if you don't get his explanation he'll take the time to give another one. He will also take the time to give you extra help outside of the classroom. I'd recommend him to anyone of any academic level.

This class moves fast and covers detailed material, so staying on top of readings and assignments is key. Time management and asking questions early really help. He's a really great teacher. I had him for BIO 217 and BIO 145 and his way of teaching are relatively the same even with two different classes. He lets you choose 2 out of the 4 short answer responses on tests for both classes. He offers extra credit on A&P tests. He truly wants his students to succeed!

If you put the time in, you will get results, you can't skip lectures and relay on screen casts to learn materials. Lab attendance is mandatory. He has a little adhd, unorganized chaos, but he's a great teacher and will help if he sees you putting the work in! He gives you plenty of changes and extra credit as well.

Professor Emerick is a great teacher. He does grade papers a bit slow but always provides great feedback. Take advantage of the extra credit opportunities. Read the case scenarios in the book. they will be on the tests.
