The guy is super knowledgeable about his subject and you need to have the passion for it that he does I think before you can really follow what he's saying. A person needs to be smart enough to follow him too. He holds nothing back information wise. This is a difficult 100 level class.

People get it wrong: if you show up for class and read his online notes, you're guaranteed a good grade - he asks exam questions straight out of his notes. I'm a business major; I thought the math was pretty easy; aced his tests. Not his fault kids take his class for an easy A and don't work for it.

To be frank: he was extremely intelligent, but he was teaching at a level that was much higher than a 100 course. Dr. Eskridge definitely knows his stuff. Often he covers several topics in one lecture, but still manages to hit the things you need to know. You are graded on 6 quizzes (10 points) and 2 midterms (40 points) and your final (80 points). Lecture was boring and i didnt really learn anything from it. He posts his notes on his website and the test and quiz questions all come from that. If you study those notes its fine. Also go to the observatory for extra credit. That and the curve helps
