Excellent professor. Cares a lot about the students and is very passionate about Calculus. If you are good at math you shouldn't have much trouble with the exams. Will do anything he can to help you out with calculus, or even with your grade.

This is one of the greatest math professors I've ever had. He explains every single item and you are able to understand everything he teaches. You would be lucky to get in any of his classes.

Your are definitely not skating by in this class. It's a difficult course, but if you do the homework you shouldn't have to many probs on exams. Tests are 20 questions, rarely lets out early. Very approachable & loves his job. You must pull your weight if you expect to do well in this class! AA++++

I have to say, Dr. Flores is an excellent math teacher, contrary to what I said in my previous posting about him being unfair and difficult. He really does care about his students, and it shows. I would definately recommend him: passionate, caring, and very professional.

Teaches in a very clear matter, makes sure you understand before he moves on.His test are very straightforward and if you take notes and pay a little attention,you should get an a. no excuse.He does show that he cares that u learn notjust throws the material like others do.

The term consisted of 4 test (incl. Final) I bombed the first test(53%), but I studied well & asked questions during class time. I got A's on all my other tests. He mentions what he expect u to know on the tests. Ask questions in class if u don't understand he's very helpful and patient.

One of the BEST teachers ever. This was my second time taking College Algebra, because my first professor was clear as mud. Prof Flores on the other hand was VERY patient, and took the time to make sure that everyone LEARNED the material, not just memorized it for a test. If only more professors were as good as he is.

Professor Flores is a class act. Personable, good hearted, humorous, patient, and laid back. In this class he made sure all students understood the material presented. Tests were always on material covered, and make up tests were given on all tests. No homework turned in. Mr. Flores is also a wiz with math. I will look to take him again.

I've always been math challenged, couldn't even do long division before this class. Professor Flores explains things VERY clearly, explains the 'how' it works (not just memorization of rules) and is very patient. Mr Flores is extremely intellegent, so if you are taking a high level math class, expect to be treated like a math expert. Other than that Mr. Flores is SUCH a good guy, he seems to really care about his students passing his course.

Dr. Flores is one of the BEST math professors to ever teach at Valencia!! Doesn't give a lot of homework! It also isn't mandatory. 10 question quizzes and a 10 question final! Math couldn't be any easier than that :) :)

Professor is great and very enthusiastic, but a bit too cocky and says difficult problems are easy when you ask for help. This made me not want to ask questions sometimes. Kind grader. Cares if you understand. Book+solutions book were terrible. Homework optional, you'll have a very hard time if you don't do it. Grades based on tests with few ?'s.

I received an A becuase the tests were very general and were all take homes and if they werent, he let us know which questions were on it. Did I learn anything? I dont know, I guess so. Incredibly easy class. I think I got lucky that my beginning algebra teacher was really difficult because I didn't learn anything new in intermediate algebra. The tests are actually hard compared to the rest of the class but he gives you a study guide with the questions on it already. He's nice, helpful and funny. Take this teacher!

Awesome teacher. I took algebra back in high school and failed it twice. I have always been horrible at math. I took Flores class for intermediate algebra and he is the BEST math teacher at valencia. Color coats everything and shows multiple ways of solving. Gives practice tests & study guides which is the same questions on the test. MUST TAKE HIM!

BEST MATH TEACHER EVER. I failed this class twice with two other professors, within 2 weeks of coming to this class I knew I'd pass. His teaching style is amazing. He applies the material to real life situations and answers any questions you have clearly. As I said I failed it twice before and passed with an A. Take his class you won't regret it.

Mr Flores is an ok professor. He is helpful when you ask questions but he takes a lonf time to answer. Also he assigns homework,alot may I add,without going over the material. Unless you like to teach yourself the material DO NOT take him.

he was a great teacher! when I first entered his class my math skills were totally gone but he helped me get it back. he makes sense when he's speaking and helps you by giving you several tips on how to figure out the problem. super easy class he's laid back. gives hw but doesn't check it until final exams. I recommend him 100%.

AMAZING TEACHER!!! he is so helpful and so good at explaining things. my class got to retake 2 out of the 5 exams. he doesnt rush through the material he makes sure everyone gets it. if you have the chance TAKE THIS CLASS! 5 exams one is take home and no other grades, hw is optional.

Professor Flores is great. He tries to keep the class all at the same level which really helps. Grade based solely on exams, there are four (plus the final). Offers make-up exams when the class doesn't do well. Provides homework, but it's not mandatory. I would definitely recommend him!

I failed at math all through school but when I took Intermediate Algebra with him I got an A. He walked you through each step, and explained it in every way possible for you to understand. Great teacher for those who are not the greatest in math. Will go over any problem when asked, and drops lowest test grade. You do a review before each test, and the review is pretty much the test but with slight differences in numbers. Study each review, ask questions and do some homework and the class is a breeze.

I must say, this is the best most effective math experience I have ever had. I've been getting a C or borderline B in math since high school, and finally a math teacher who actually knows how to teach & wants to make it easy! His tests are really the only thing he bases his grades on, which he makes it almost identical to the study guide. TAKE HIM!

3rd time taking this professor. Pre-Calc is a pain, but he makes it bearable. He has a passion for teaching that I haven't found with other math professors which keeps the class motivated even when it's a complex subject. 4 tests and the final. His tests can be tricky but stick with it and show that you are trying and you'll do OK!

What all instructors should be like.

Hw is optional but its there to help you. Practice test and real test are similar but be aware, the final would be based on all the hw and he wouldn't help you from A to Z of the final practice. After all, it's an easy A class if u pay some effort in it. He's nice and helpful.Yet the class is boring when someone asks how to solve a problem 3 times

I took Dr. Flores for college algebra and pre-calc and loved him. He is not easy but extremely worth it. He teaches more than you need to know which makes your next required math class a breeze. The practice test he gives you before the test are basically the test but he changes the numbers around. DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS AND YOU WILL PASS!

this is the MATH JESUS. if u suck at math, trust me you are not worst than me, and i had fun in this class. study guide IS THE TEST just different numbers. very friendly and lenient. theres really nothing bad to say that's why to register for his classes its so difficult.

Calc 2 is probably one of the hardest math classes and he makes it amazing. TAKE HIM! He is great at explaining and willing to help those who need it. Gives you second chances because he knows how important this class is to pass.

There's something really special about Dr.Flories, when he does math with you, time flies by real quickly. It's as easy as 2+2. The homework is optional but it helps you in the long run. The class is based off of tests so make sure to do well. 60 percent of your grade is tests and the final is 40 percent. Study the practice tests and you will pass.

Pretty easy class and teacher. I liked the class and did well, but I feel that if I take any more upper level math courses this will not have prepared me for it. I felt like I didn't learn anything new or substantial. If you want an easy a go for it. If you really want to learn and master the material I suggest you don't take the "easy professor."

I can say that this man changed my entire view on math. I HATED math before I took Calculus I with Professor Flores. Once I started taking it this semester I actually love calculus! I started considering engineering majors! This is my last math class for my major but I think I'm going to continue taking math classes as long as he's my professor.

I loved Flores until I had to take Calc 2. He did not prepare us at all. I got an A in the class but obviously learned nothing. No other instructor will let you redo tests!

Best math professor ever. Most of the people complaining about him probably never paid much attention to him in class. He actually teaches and explains to you the concept of the subject he is talking about rather than throwing it at you and telling you to memorize it. That way you understand it rather than just forcing yourself to remember it.

Took him for pre-calc, trig, and calc I... I plan on taking him for calc 2 as well! Only 4 tests (sometimes that includes the final). Very easy going, will help you if you ASK; if you don't, he will keep going and going.

Dr. Flores is very passionate about calculus, great guy. Math in general was never my strong suit this course is really tough. However, he makes it a bit easier on his students. 3 tests (one take home) and a final (replaces lowest test). Study guides similar to tests, different quantities. DO THE HOMEWORK; even though it's not graded, it helps.

Best math professor I've ever taken. He goes above and beyond to ensure that the class AND you as an individual understand the material. This is by far the best professor I have ever had in Valencia College. I enjoyed his class so much that I given my major a second thought. Calc II is notoriously hard, but he doesn't add to that connotation. Instead, he teaches you the beauty of calculus, and leaves you wanting for more. I took this class in the Spring and he is honestly the best professor ever. He only grades based off of your exams which is not a bad thing. Before every exam he gives you a study guide which is exactly like the exam. I NEVER rate professors but he is so good I did. I would definitely take him again. Best professor ever!!

I took the Six week course and expected it to be very difficult, but he told us at the beginning of class that if you show up, follow along with the tons of practice problems he does and study the practice tests you will pass. I am horrible in math and was getting 99's on exam after exam. He is a great Professor and would recommend him to anyone.

I took a summer B class. So there were 10 classes&7 tests, but Flores did his best to lay it out and explain everything. We went fast but he took his time when he could tell some were confused. I recommend him entirely he explains trig flawlessly. I really enjoyed his class. Hw was not graded and towards the end we had 3 take home tests. due 2time

Just like the person below, I took this class in 6 weeks and from the very beginning he told us it was going to be intense. We put in a lot of work but the way he explains things makes you understand the material. I suggest doing the practice problems he gives you and also don't be afraid to ask questions when needed. I took Professor Flores for my Precalculus, Trigonometry, and now Calculus 1. So far I would say the best professor at Valencia that teaches math no offense to any other professor, but Professor Flores knows exactly how to make you an A student and knows how to let you love math if you're just one of the people who hate Math. The best! Dr. Flores makes calculus easy. Reviews are similar to the test (not exactly the same) but if you understand the review you'll get a good test grade. He completely understands the subject and can answer any question you have. If you are a STEM major I'd recommend taking him. He's also kind on partial credit. TAKE HIM FOR MATH!!!

Although I didn't like his teaching style - he doesn't solve a lot of exercises from each lesson and his solving method is a bit disorganized for me to understand, but if you want to get good grades, just take him. His tests are super easy; he is very caring, and it is his pleasure to help you. He is the best!

Honestly this was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. For our class, he only graded 5 things. 3 CH test, the final exam, and one quiz that was take home. On the final, he gave us the same EXACT questions as the ones on the study guide. (There was 20 on the guide, on the final he made us choose 10 of them). He explains things very well.

This class consisted of 3 tests and the final. He gives a review for each test which are SIMILAR to the test, meaning it's not exactly the same but it's related to the concepts on the review. If you can't pass with him then you aren't putting enough effort into the class. I've never been excited to take math before but I'm excited for calc 2 + 3

Hes very good at what he does and got a phd in mathematics. I believe that anyone who has taken him loves him as a professor. Always comes to class with a smile and teaches you what you need to know. The exams are problems straight from the homework he assigns. Do the homework and guaranteed A.

One of the best Calc 1 prof I've ever had. Goes only a few questions a day at a pace where it is understandable. No homework or quizzes, but is recommended you do them. Gives out study guides similar in question and number to the real rest. Graded on only 4 things. Tests are actually very easy if studied. Wish I could take him again, but bio major.

Dr. Flores is a very special professor. Up until this class, I always struggled to pay attention during lectures. With this professor, all of that went away. I learned a lot in this class and I really feel like I earned my grade. But be forewarned, while you will easily pass, he likes to put trick questions and makes you work for the A.

This was my second time taking him. He wants all the students to pass. Don't withdraw his classes guys. Coz if you do, you are wasting someone's chance. Getting into his classes is not easy. If you do your part, he will take care of the rest. Show him that you wanna pass. If you can't pass this class, it is your fault. Don't blame him.

I took Flores for both Trig and Calc 1. He's a good Professor, very accommodating and understanding. Do beware that your grade is based solely on his exams, so if you fail your exams more than once, chances are you won't pass the class. He doesn't make the material hard - Take him!

Before, I always struggled with the pace of high level math courses. After taking him, you feel like you understand all the important aspects of Calculus. Even if you're that kid in class that asks the stupidest questions, he won't embarrass you in front of everyone. He'll always treat respectfully and give the best responses.

He helps you understand math, especially for Pre-cal which is a 50% chance you will fail. I haven't taken any math class for 3 years and I was really worried about taking pre-cal. He gives out lots of HW for practice, there is only 4 tests he sometimes lets you re-take if class doesn't do so well he is there to help you succeed. Best math teacher.

Prof Flores is a great math prof, he's brilliant, however, since the curriculum for Precalc is kinda screwed we did have to review some things on our own. He gives hella homework, but that's the only way you'll do well on the tests. He explains concepts clearly and is easy to understand. He'll even give you a heads up on what's coming next in Calc!

The only grades in the class are 4 tests and a final. Professor is incredibly intelligent and can sometimes dive too deep in to topics that are a bit advanced. Practice exams are exactly like tests. Attend class and study this is a fairly easy A.

I had him once a week for this class and he genuinely cares about teaching the material. He grades heavily on tests since he doesnt grade homework nor does he check it. But I really advise you to try to do the homework, since its more practice. But overall, I really liked him!

This is my second semester with Professor Flores ( took him for precalculus algebra too). He teaches short cuts or different ways to derive ( which really helps if you forget the identity) he gives out homework but doesnt grade( only for practice) told class to memorize trig identities, other than that, only 4 tests and a final exam, hes the best

Prof. Flores took the time to review pre-requisite material in order for our class to understand the current material being presented. He tailored his lessons to what our class needed. This sometimes meant taking 2 classes to cover material that was only suppose to take 1 class to cover. He introduced Calculus concepts at the end of the semester.

I like to call this teacher an angel. He is the most fair, kind, and honest professor I have had since my 4 years at valencia. I cannot thank him enough for being here. Calc 2 is difficult, but he makes it a fun class. The tests are 90% like the study guide, hands down. Flores WANTS you t o pass, he WANTS you to do good. He Almost will never fail

There's extra credit on every test. You get to finish the tests in 2 days. You can literally pass this class just because youre in it. This teacher is SO Underrated. Dr. Flores is passionate about his teaching, he makes sure everyone in the room understands the material before moving on. His homeworks are not graded BUT theyre good practice so always try to answer them after lecture. Also, he offers practice tests that are similar to the actual tests! Overall a great professor that you cant go wrong with!

Professor Flores does everything he can to make sure you are successful in the course. He is very understanding when it comes to questions and further explanation. Professor Flores is amazing! Now, don't get me wrong, Calc. II is an extremely hard class. But, Professor Flores was always willing to help me out with any issues that arose. He even set up some private Zoom meetings to help me get through some difficult points. He is very kind as well, and wants to help his students do their best in all they do!

Theres 3 tests and one final. We have weekly ungraded homework assignments through Webassign or textbook problems. Dr. Flores is a great person, I just didnt learn a thing in the class. Possibly because of covid, it felt like I was teaching myself with YouTube videos. Hes super accessible and will work with you so that you can understand.

Had him in spring and so far my absolute favorite teacher on campus. He'll help you with whatever you need and then some. Actually cares about his students. Can't wait to take Calculus 1 and 2 with him!

there is no way in hell you can take this class and not pass. like his test are similar to the study guides which are not multiple choice by the way. obv you have to understand the material but i took him for trig and calc and got A's both semester. he can be a bit harsh when grading but he helps you whenever you need him TAKE HIM !!! Dr. Flores is amazing! I took him for Calc. 2 and 3, and had a wonderful time in both. He only grades 3 or 4 tests and a final, but he gives great reviews which are almost exactly like the tests. As well, the tests are PDFs, and you get a week to work on them. Also, he is very caring and will go to great lengths to help you succeed!

After taking Prof. Flores for Calc. II and III, I also took him for an Honors (Engineering) Research project. He was an outstanding mentor and helped me formulate ideas, think outside the box, and create a far better report than I could have alone. He always provided amazing feedback, along with tips and tricks to succeed.

Prof Flores genuinely made me feel understood in his class. The homework can feel overwhelming but he works with you and understands if you need an extension. the test are also a lot simpler and easier than the homework and he stays true to his practice test.

Dr. Flores is a very good and enthusiastic math teacher. He provides many resources (including office hours) for his students. I've only taken him online, which is a bit more self paced (you're only graded on 4 tests). If you put in the work, you will 100% pass his class.

This class is super easy to pass and you would have to try to fail. He gives you 8 days for a 10 question test which is super easy. You're not graded on homework only tests so you could learn at your own pace or use different only study materials. Most test questions are not over the top complicated and can easily have examples found online.

Only grades you on 4 tests during the semester, which are only 5-8 questions and sent out a week before due. Homework is online but not mandatory. He provides you with his phone number to contact him and responds pretty quickly. He gives practice tests and makes videos going over them. The practice tests are almost the same as the actual test.

This is the most laid-back professor I ever had. You are graded by four tests throughout the year which are done on paper without a proctor. There is homework for practice but it is not mandatory. He posts online lectures weekly discussing the topics and explains them clearly.

There were only 4 exams and there were no mandatory homework assignments. It was a pretty laid back class

Paul Flores is very caring, smart, and charismatic. He always made sure to answer any and all questions the class had and was very keen on keeping us all on the same page. If you take professor Flores you will be in safe hands, and if you apply yourself, I'm 99.9% sure you'll get an A in his class.

Calc 2 is quite honestly brutal and it will require a crap ton of your time. ASAP start watching his videos and taking his notes, Dr.Flores makes it a little easier for you but you have to put in the work too. Don't be afraid to ask questions and if you do the homework and take notes the test shouldn't be an issue. Super sweet and Caring Professor!

Dr. Flores is a great professor! One thing I liked was how he encouraged his students to solve problems using a variety of methods rather than just one. He is an easy grader who genuinely cares about his students' success. There were 3 tests (the ONLY course grades) that could be completed at home. I would definitely recommend taking his course.

Professor Flores is an amazing! I would definitely recommend him. I took trig and failed with another professor, I decided to take it again based on his ratings and I was not let down! He is so caring and the course is easily understandable. He only grades by three tests and a final. You genuinely can not fail in this class if you put in the work.

This class was very easy, as long as you put the effort and work into the tests. Show your work on the tests. The professor himself was very nice and left wonderful comments on the tests.

All tests are take home! He even allows us to get tutoring assistance on them. Your only grades are 4 tests since homework is not graded. Just show all work on tests and you'll get an A.

Took Trig as a 6 week summer class and finished with a 100%. Def recommend if you're already pretty good at trig since the only graded assignments are 3 tests and a final you print out at home.He posts short videos on each of the lessons and has study guides for the 3 tests. Amazing professor. Graded by 4 tests which is very manageable for someone who is very busy. I was already pretty good with trig so this class was perfect! There are still plenty of resources for those who are not as familiar.

This professor makes the class very easy, there are just 4 tests you need to do for the class and he is a very easy grader. The mean is 96.3% and the median is 100% for his tests. If you want a light workload and a guaranteed pass take this professor. Also, note he stops providing video lectures halfway through the course, so either read or youtube

Y'all, this class is my favorite! I was scared going into Trig, but this class boosted my confidence. He only grades 4 tests that make up your entire grade, but the tests were super simple and straightforward. TAKE HIM RIGHT NOW, HE IS THE MOMENT.

Professor Flores was a great class. Only 4 tests with 10 questions (only grades the whole semester), very easy to get a good grade in this class just need to make sure you pay attention to due dates. Overall, very light class, would recommend pairing it with one of your harder classes.

all i can say is this is the easiest class you will ever take in your college journey this is by far the easiest A if you want the credit and the grad take this class 100% recommend there are no assignments at all the only thing graded in the class are 4 tests which are ten questions each pretty easy stuff show your work on the test theyre not hard

If your wanting an easy class to take thats almost guaranteed to be an A I would take this one. The only assignments you'll have is 4 tests as long as you show your work you shouldn't have a problem getting a 100 given he gives you a week to do each take home test. He's a great professor and dives into great detail, always offers help when needed.

Professor Flores' MAC1114 class was a breeze! The grading is straightforward, with just 4 tests making up your entire grade. While the textbook is used, the lecture videos and unstuckstudy AI study tools made the material very manageable, even for those without a strong trig background. Definitely recommend this class!

Best professor ever, if you're thinking about taking Calc 1 with him DO ITTTT!!!! He truly is the best. Your grade is only based on the tests and you have a whole week to do each test. For the tests you submit a pdf of your answers and work, open notes on everything. Do what you will with that info. Class is an EASY A. Love him!

I absolutely adore Dr. Flores! Had to take Calc as a major requirement and he has made it extremely fun and easy to balance with a heavy course load. 10/10 highly recommend him!!! Exams are take home and due within the week which is a HUGE plus.

This was a wonderful professor, you could pretty much go at your own pace. Everything is graded off of the tests but he is super flexible for when you take the tests. The homework is not graded. This was the best class I ever took.

I took both Calculus I and Calculus II with Dr. Flores. He's a great professor. His lectures are clear and engaging. Some students tend the take home tests for granted and don't participate much in class, but if you stay engaged, you'll learn a lot. He is very approachable and always willing to answer any questions you have. I highly recommend him.

Doctor Flores only grades on four assignments: three tests and a final that are take-home. If you take this professor and not engage in the extra resources he provides, you will not learn. You have to be willing to do the assignments that are not part of your grade to learn in this class. You have to be willing to teach yourself.

Very easy class. However, the class is what you make of it. You could easily get through with an A and learn nothing. He provides videos and there is a textbook but outside of that he doesn't teach a lot. There are 4 exams that comprise your grade. He doesn't grade very tough on the exams. Overall, easy A but you might not learn much.

If I was an engineering major, I would take him for Cal 2 also. He's so chill, he has lecture videos and even goes over the practice tests. The practice tests are so similar to his actual exams. Your grade consists of 4 take home exams, hw is not graded but it's good practice. I really do highly recommend him if you ever want a good calculus prof.
