He's a good teacher. Always willing to help. Be sure to do practice problems from textbook and examples given in class. Also, before tests, he holds extra office hours and practice sessions. Those are very helpful, so it's a good idea to take advantage of them.
Professor Forster was awesome. He really cares about his students and will always answer questions. His tests were kind of tricky but as long as you do all his practice problems they shouldnt be too bad. He also curves which was helpful.
I didnt understand chem at all when in High School but when i got to chem 103 with him i picked it up easily. He goes over things several times before sending you on your own and he is extremely helpful. If you do the practice problems and follow along in class you will be fine. I would definately take him again.
Great class and teacher for preparing you for General Chem. Essentially an honors high school chemistry class. Forster is one of the most helpful teachers I've ever had. I didn't find the class difficult, but the quizzes are tough. Follow along with your book and use all the resources he provides and you'll come out with an A. Curves tests too.
Great professor! He explains material thoroughly, holds reviews sessions before every exam, provides practice exams, and is happy to help if you come during his office hours. He truly cares about his students doing well. He also curves exams. One of the best profs I've had. Take him if you are able to!
Dr. Forster is the best prof ever!Lectures are very easy to follow,he loves teaching & wants students to succeed. He is always helpful when you need assistance. He is also a very fair person.I did my homework over several times and always kept up with my work. You can get an A in this class although it is a lot of work.I would take him again!
SO helpful! Reviews for everyone until he knows a majority understand the concept/s and does so in efficient time. Asks students' opinion. Holds review sessions, posts practice exams, makes outlines. You always know what to expect for exams. Responds to e-mails/questions VERY promptly. Sometimes accident prone but it's forgivable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
This is my first chemistry course ever. He is super clear, he will stop lecture to hear questions. He goes through many examples and his review sessions are very very helpful! Really a great professor.
He is an awesome teacher. He always gives curves on tests and that helps a lot. The online hmwk and quizzes are easy with the used of text book. I recommend you going to the lecture because it helps.
The best chemistry teacher! He always gives curves on the test, and provides past tests that are similar to the test. If you do the key concepts, memorize what he says you need to, and do those example exams, you will get a good grade. He is really nice, and always answers emails promptly. I actually began liking the subject because of him!
Great teacher. He actually cared about his students, curved tests, offered extra practice on problems. He provided us with what we needed to know before tests, gave lots of optional reviews, was available quite often online, outside of class, office hours, etc. He also wrote practice tests and problems. I like Chemistry more now.
This class is challenging if you have never taken chemistry before. He makes it easy to learn and is clear about what he wants his students to know before an exam. He holds review sessions which are really helpful and even gives you hints about what problems will be on the test. He is great and cares if his students learn!
Dr. Forster is great!! He truly cares about his students' performance and wants EVERYONE to do well. He gives 3 hour review sessions and then offers extended office hours (ALL DAY) before EACH of his tests!! He's a little absentminded, but it's endearing. GET A STUDY GROUP, do the homework and talk to him if you're struggling.
Excellent teacher! He is so helpful and provides many practice and example questions. He holds review sessions before each test and the final. He is really good about answering questions in class and really seems to care about us understanding the concepts. If you struggle with chemistry, I recommend him, since he provides tons of additional help.
This class consists of weekly homework and quizzes on Mastering Chemistry, 3 exams and a final. The great thing about this class is Forster takes the best 2/3 exam scores. Forster is a wonderful person, but an okay professor. He often makes mistakes on his problems and does not teach problems he puts on his exams.
Good professor that is always trying to help students. Exams are not that difficult and he usually gives a curve. Very helpful to students and a nice person overall.
Extremely boring lectures, filled with mistakes in slides & calculations. Curves generously. Get As on first 3 exams, no final for you. Review sessions are helpful, basically goes over entire exam, so GO. Online homework is worst part. Too many problems & terrible website. Taught myself from book & got A. Do that & go to review, no need for lecture
Dr. Forster is a great teacher and he really cares about his students. The class itself is a little sloppy but he makes up for it with all the curves he gives!
Most people would probably say Preparatory Chemistry is easy, and I would say it is, but you have to MAKE the time to learn the material. With a lot of hard classes, you won't pass. Mr. Forster is super nice and funny, but sometimes confusing and boring during lectures. He does provide study materials and study guide sessions before each exam.
Professor Forster is a great guy. Lectures can be a bit boring, but that is just like any class. At the start of every lecture he talks about a real life example of the chapter you're learning which is cool. He has a rule that if you pass all 3 exams with a 90% or above you don't take the final which is great. Easy class!!
I really enjoyed the class and I thought it was clear, concise, and straightforward. The tests are tough but as long as you study and do the online homework, you should have enough practice to do well. His "What to memorize" lists are essential and must be memorized. He was also available after class and always put all of his effort into helping.
I LOVED HIM. He is so endearing and adorable and super nice. He gives hw & quizzes, but they're super easy and just meant to help and prepare you for the tests, so do them. He is a bit clumsy and forgetful-ish, but he's such a cutie-patootie that I didn't mind at all. If you need help, just ask. He is more than willing to do it. Read the book tho!
Awesome professor! At the beginning of the lectures, he always presents a real life interesting chemistry application. Super adorable and nice, also very willing to help. Really cares for his students and makes sure that material isn't just being spewed out but that it is being understood. His "what to memorize" are the reasons I passed the tests.
Professor Forster was great. He is extremely helpful, if you ask. His lectures are very clear. The homework is helpful. The exams are meant to be challenging and they are, but doable if you study and do the practice exams.
Knows his chemistry very well & teaches it clearly. Pay attention and do the homework and you'll get an A
He really likes to contradict himself, and talk about things that are not important. Can get very confusing
He is very clear on his criteria and as long as you study his practice problems, do the homework, and give the textbook a peep when you are having trouble, you should surely get an A. He is a very nice and caring professor, which is a quality that is hard to find at UNLV. Highly recommended.
He is the best teacher I have ever had. His tests are not that hard. Just study regularly and pass with at least B. He curves the scores too.. Have fun taking his classes. Its worth it.
Professor Forster is such a sweet man. He was extremely clear about what was expected of us and did everything possible to make sure everyone passed. His practice exams are very helpful. 3 exams plus online quizzes and homework. Perfect amount of time to get everything done. Also he almost immediately responds to emails and answers all questions
Dr. Forster was extremely nice and very welcome for questions. The class doesn't have a horrible amount of homework, and is basically a refresher of high school chemistry. He has this policy where if you get A's on all 3 of the midterms, you don't have to take the final, which was wonderful.
Advance Inorganic was a tough class, his test weren't easy but the overall topic was interesting. This class doesn't have old exam that students can use to study for so YOU WILL NEED to really study and read instead of memorizing stuff from old exam.
Insane amounr of work required for a PREPATORY NON CREDIT, 100 level course. Its heavy on memorization and he does not give a study guide whatsoever. He loves to ramble on and on in class. Does not explain concept very well. I had to teach myself half the stuff.
Online homework system is the most annoying garbage I ever had to use. On top of all the homework, the exams requires stringent memorization of random chemical formulas and elements. I thought this was a PREPARATORY HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL chem course? Course wouldn't be so bad if some of the chemical formulas and elements were provided for us.
Yes the class is harder than it should be; if you take it for credit, don't. If you are moving onto CHEM 121, then take it! He is just preparing you for harder and more complex things to come. He gives you incredible resources to earn an A, including study guides, memorization guides, and exam reviews. He is super sweet. 3 As on exams no final!
Great professor, explains exactly how to get ready for exams and provides sample exams from previous years, bottom line - I wish I could have him for all my chem classes!
Dr. Forster is a great professor. He explains everything as clearly as he can, and is happy to answer any and all questions students have for him. The tests are straightforward, and he has review sessions before each test, where he works through every problem on the sample test and answers any other questions. Wish he taught 121 and 122.
The homework does not match what is tested. His sample problems also does not match what is tested. Makes the exams ridiculously hard to "prepare" us for Ochem. Dude, Im an Engineering major, I just need 121 and im done with chem. Teach within the course instead of trying to "prepare us for 122 and above".
he is a really slow lecturer and a pretty boring one at that. but you can tell he cares about how his students do. his review sessions before every exam WILL help. also, SI SESSION helped if you are struggling.
He is very slow and boring. The way he words his sample problems and exams is extremely hard to comprehend. LIkes to make exams hard for no reason at all.
Horrible instructor. The homework system is atrocious and his study guides does not help one bit at all. JUdging from the sample exams he gave us, he seems to be making the exam harder than it should be. This is a CHEM103 course, NOT 121! whats the point of trying to "prepare" us?
Very slow and boring lecture. Half the class is always on their phones due to his extremely slow paced style of teaching. He loves to explain EVERY SINGLE STEP in solving problems- even basic algebra, which i think its ridiculous. If you are taking Chem 103, MOST likely you are a STEM major and if you cant do algebra, then u should switch majors
His lectures are a little slow and boring. More often than not, I wouldn't pay attention in class and the homework helped me understand more. Practice the Sapling questions before exams for a little extra help; the explanations are very helpful. Take the practice exams because they are similar to his exams and go to reviews. He curves and drops.
Dr. Forster is amazing! I don't get how people on here are plain rude about his teaching style. Yeah I get it, homework is terrible but he adds an additional 5% to you homework grade, which is basically extra credit. He might be quite slow, and best option would be buying a solutions manual online (I got mine around $20) and practice the problems
he was very helpful when came to meeting outside of class. He explained things very well and used a lot of examples, his study guides are definitely helpful for the exams. STUDY STUDY STUDY it may seem easy at first but it all ties into more difficult lessons. His lectures are super easy to follow.
This class was much more difficult than "Basic". The homework system is terrible. It takes off points from each question when you don't do little minute things. Forster speeds through lecture and doesn't explain the material very well. its super easy to get lost. Be prepared to watch a lot of youtube videos to helo you understand whats going on.
Going into this class, I had very minimal chemistry experience and Dr. Forster's enthusiasm for the subject and attention to the needs of his students helped me succeed and build a strong foundation for further chemistry classes that I needed. His lectures may get a tad monotonous, but he makes sure to take the time outside of class to provide help
Dr. Forster is a great professor! He is very accessible outside of class. He also has guidelines for what you can expect on the test. If you study, read, and do the homework you should be able to get an A.
He doesn't discuss all lectures and you'll be expected to study it yourself. Tests are very hard. Prepare tricky questions on test. His lecture is boring and is very slow that is why he is always behind on the chapters and students are suffering from it. However, he is nice especially if he sees the enthusiast of the student to learn.
Dr. Forster is a good CHEM professor. He really takes his time to teach lessons and make sure that everyone has a good foundation. His exams are generally easier compared to other professors. He also gives out practice exams that closely resemble the actual exam. Your grade is basically the online homework, online quizzes, and in class exams.
Forster really cares about his students and really wants to make this class as easy as possible. His exams are just like the study guides. Such a caring and cool guy and he definitely deserves a raise. One of my fave professors at UNLV! take him if you're taking chem
Professor Forster is an alright professor for Chem 103, but I did use YouTube to go over some of the concepts that he taught in class. His tests are cumulative, but his study guides are the tests he gave the previous semester, so you know the type of questions he would ask.
Dr. Forster is a great introduction to chemistry. I took him for 103, and I was pissed by the time I got to class because the chemistry department at UNLV had given me the absolute run-around. Forster cares about your understanding first and your grade second, and curves like an absolute champ. The supplemental instruction was extremely helpful!
Dr. Forster is a knowledgable and caring professor. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions. He has so much patience and will help you until you understand something. He'll go out of his way to do a 15 minute review after class if needed and also has review sessions before each exam. Also has practice exams. He's a sweet guy, definitely recommend!
Can go off topic, but he's a great prof. Very accessible outside of class. Very fair, truly cares that you understand the material. I had to take this over bc the first prof didn't provide lecture slides ahead of class and I was lost trying to learn the new material (even tho I liked her as a prof, this was a huge negative for me) Highly recommend!
Nice guy but not a great teacher. If you need to learn Chemistry, he's not the teacher for you. If you need the class for credit, you'll pass but it's difficult to grasp. He spends too much time talking about space & not enough time teaching what is needed to learn to pass the class. Everything's by the book & doesnt offer easier learning methods.
Took the course for the summer term. Hes actually a really good professor. Solves problems in class to show you how the work is done. Sapling homework system was terrible and too much was assigned from it. Other than that the course was alright.
I really enjoyed Forster's class. He clearly communicates his expectations and only tests on what he feels he has adequately covered in class. A few of the concepts took a bit of time to grasp but he is responsive to questions and really wants you to understand. Replaces lowest exam score with final if it is a better grade. Great professor!
I was better off learning the material off of YouTube than his lectures. His lectures consist more of him rambling on his morning cup of black tea or other unnecessary facts that pertain to the material. He spends most of his time on the easy topics and brushes through the hard ones and puts too much on the exam to finish in the time given .
Honestly, I took this professor because I thought his ratings were good.. but I should have checked that his ratings were not up to date at all. Moral of the story, don't take this professor if you like late updates of assignments, lots of homework, and boring lectures.
Professor Forster is a really nice guy. He's very set on heavy lectures and usually harder to reach outside of class. I would recommend signing up for the group study. The book can only get you so far and you can talk about problems with others in the study group.
Forster was pretty good, very nice guy but lectures can be monotone. I hadn't taken any chem since 10th grade and I aced this class. Just pay attention and make sure you know what you're doing on the homework. Tests are pretty math/application based but not bad.
Dr. Forster's lectures usually consisted of him getting off topic or taking too long talking about a simple concept and rushing through more difficult concepts. His exams focused on the mathematical aspect of each chapter and provided clear examples of the simple versions of questions but the exam free response were more complex and worth a lot.
Forster is not a good professor, is very stubborn about how he wants thing. In class test was incredibly long and the short answer for it was so complex compared to what he does in class. the online tests were okay but he was secretive about curving it or not. A lot of homework, even tho it made up 10% of our grade, and 2 exams+ final were 80%.
Mr. Forster is a sweet man who has good intentions. Occasionally during lectures, he would spend a decent amount of time on one concept but brush over others. Overall, I feel like he had a good grasp on the topics at hand. The homework/quizzes assigned were helpful in teaching and he gave an extra 5% to both categories at the end of the semester.
Took Forster during the "Covid" semester which transferred online. He was pretty error-prone in person, but he threw in the towel with online instruction giving us powerpoints (made by a different professor for their class) and mostly uncurved tests. His homeworks were 20 online questions with each having, usually, an A-H subset of q's. Avoid him.
Dr. Forster really cares that you understand general chemistry. This means you're going to have to learn A LOT of information, even if you've taken chemistry before. He is available almost at all hours, and adjusts readily to good feedback. When he makes mistakes, he owns it quickly. The online homework sucks, but it WILL help.
Dr. Forster cares not only for chemistry but for this students as well, especially during this pandemic. Dr. Forster provides simplified explanations during lectures on how to solve the problem we are solving. Overall, Dr. Forster is very nice and it is evident based on how he explains materials to us that he loves chemistry. i took CHEM 121A btw
I took Prof Forster's class during COVID. Like everyone says, he's very absent-minded & I wouldn't say he is the best at teaching. But, he cares about students & is extremely fair. I would 100% recommend taking CHEM 103 before this class it helped SO MUCH. If you take CHEM 103 it's pretty easy and you will do good.
Professor Forster is really nice but he is hard on you and repeats that if you don't have a good foundation of chemistry then you shouldn't be in the class. As the class progresses and the concepts get harder, his teaching becomes worse because he doesn't explain the concepts well. Most of his lectures are him working problems.
I strongly recommend taking CHEM 103 beforehand, because over half of the material learned during Forster's class was taught at a deeper level in CHEM 103. I wouldn't say Forster is a bad professor, he just doesn't quite know how to explain some concepts at the level to those just learning the material. He can make mistakes that confuse everyone
Dr. Forster is a very kind professor who gives his students the necessary resources to succeed, if you are struggling he is available to answer questions and holds optional office hours regularly apart from his lectures. His tests are difficult but he drops the lowest one and curves a lot at the end. Take the class seriously and an A feasible.
Dr. Forster is a very kind and caring professor. He has a philosophy of "everyone vs the material" instead of competition. He drops the lowest exam score, so there is room for improvement. There is a lot of material, so effort is required to succeed. He sometimes makes mistakes when solving problems, but is humble and always owns up and fixes them.
In order to review the slides he posts, you have to watch his one-hour long lecture video on Canvas. Also he doesn't know how to use Canvas grading because it apparently "doesn't grade how he wants it too". He does drop the lowest exam grade (there are 3 exams + final) however, he messes up on exams a lot. He also only does practice problems.
Forster is a great professor. He has the class structured in a way where you can watch the lectures at your own leisure and you can show up to class for practice. The lectures are required to pass this class, as well as a good understanding of the content in CHEM 103. The best thing about him is that he really cares about his students passing.
He's an ok professor when it comes to teaching but I highly suggest you take CHEM 103 beforehand because this is a really challenging class without a strong background. Really cares about his students and is passionate about what he teaches. If you email him, he's always really flexible and understanding. Exams are easier than hw/in-class problems.
Took this class over the summer and I would say that he is a great professor. But, in order to pass and get a good grade in this class, you have to have a strong foundation in chemistry. Thus, I highly recommend taking Chem 103 first before taking this class since this is a very hard class as you're expected to know a lot of materials beforehand.
Professor Forster is a great person, but an alright teacher. I highly recommend taking CHEM 103 prior to his class. He has a tendency to overcomplicate lessons and would frequently go off topic during his lectures and at-home lessons. The homework can also be significantly harder than his lessons. The professor drops your lowest exam and curves.
Dr Forster's class is a flipped classroom, where you watch lectures prior to class and do practice problems during the actual class time. If you like that type of instruction, it helps a lot, but I personally struggled. There is LOTS of extra credit so make sure that you stay on top of homework.
Highly recommend taking Chem 103 as Forster can move fast and be vague sometimes. Be on top of deadlines and go to class for the extra practice problems. He will curve, but I advise doing all adaptive quizzes (extra credit). Homework is more challenging than tests. He truly wants the best for his students. Prioritize this class and ask questions.
I took Chem 121 with Dr. Forster during the summer session. I would recommend watching the lecture online and then going to his problem-solving session. He's very kind and curves the grade by replacing the lowest exam score with the final exam score. The class isn't hard after realizing everything is mainly converting one unit to another unit.
Professor Forster's style of teaching is through online lectures which you watch on your own time and then do example problems in class. I personally didn't like it, but if you watch all the lectures you'll be fine. Also, you won't know your grade until the end of the semester because he doesn't set up the canvas grades properly.
One of the best professors I have had the joy of learning from. He is very clear and upfront about expectations and really does his best to prepare you to think and solve general chemistry problems. His flipped style of teaching has helped me polish working through chemistry problems, to earn A/B on the exams. Really solid materials!
Dr. Forster is by easily the best choice for CHEM 121. He uses class time to practice content and problems rather than cramming lectures and practice in one. His exams are super straight forward and has practice exams very similar style to the ones you take. He also curves and ALWAYS was there to help and review for exams.
This class was great, Dr. Forster is very clear in his lecture, and is always understanding of everyone. His exams are not super difficult, and reflect the lectures very well. Homework can be a bit long, and is often way more difficult than it should be. Every week, he held sessions to attend outside of class, giving every opportunity to learn.
Often went out of his way to provide supplementary aid and did recorded web meetings to practice problems and review before and after tests. He uploads recordings of his lectures, but you have to email to get access to his slide outside of that. His tests are easy- he isn't one to add trick questions. Only con- he locks the grade percent on canvas.
Chem is general is difficult we cant avoid that but Dr Forster is one of the best out there. his lectures are clear and straight forward, he provides notes for you to fill out throughout the lecutres, he is always and i mean always willing to help through office hours, after class, and before each test he does zoom meetings to help you!
Dr. Forster had clear expectations for us, and was willing to help us out whenever needed. I know students in the other section from lab, and they seemed burnt out and stressed. Take Dr. Forster!!!!!!!!
Mediocre professor who probably doesn't like teaching Gen Chem compared to higher stuff. Often goes off topic and frequently messes up exams. Office hours are not very helpful but he does give a lot of useful review for the exams, which is more than many STEM professors could say. Curves somewhat generously. You can get through with effort.
Overall his class is doable. The exams are about 20 questions with 6-8 written responses, make sure to focus on those because thats where most of points come from. He randomly decided to make the last two exams cumulative, so expect changes in the syllabus. As long as you study, going to tutoring, and form study groups, you should be fine.
If you want a instructor who cares a lot , Professor Forster is the one. Take him
I personally loved Dr. Forster's class. The way he presents the information is interesting and there are tons of practice problems done in class. He gives many opportunities for extra credit and also posts his lectures online for students that are unable to attend class on a particular day. Take chem with Dr. Forster!
Took him over summer, he always sounds passionate but nervous/unprepared made it very hard to pay attention. He also tends to ramble and take lots of time going over things that arent very important and zooms through the tested stuff. Also says canvas doesn't grade how he wants it to, so knowing ur actual grade is confusing.
Nice guy but lectures are all over the place and the practice problems he does in class do not match the ones on the exams. They are more complex and have poor wording. I did well in lab but he overcomplicates simple concepts. Skip lecture, Watch YT videos and do practice problems from the textbook to pass.
This semester he didn't live up to his great reviews. Not helpful during office hours. Seems nervous and unprepared all the time. Makes too many mistakes during lectures which confuses everyone. Too much homework, exams test on topics not covered.
Nice, he's honestly probably the best chem teacher available but best of the worst doesn't mean much. Literally half the time of his lectures, he's going to ramble about things you WON'T be tested about, and the things you will be tested on? Prepare for him to speed through it! Long homework that doesn't even prepare you for exams.
Honestly, good luck, if you are good with chemistry conceptually, you can probably pass this class, but most of his exams are literally nothing he teaches in class or have a twist on it. He gives himself the easier problems in lectures and will give you the harder problems on the exams.
90% of his lecture is just ramble, literally talks about topics that won't be on the exam. The coffee he drinks, what he likes to cook, etc. Count the times when he sees, "It's okay if you completely forgot what I just said!, just thought it would be interesting to show you this!", cool person and tough grader on exams aswell in my opinion.
Don't worry about the recent low reviews, it's typical for a Summer class and Chem 121 is one of those awkward 100-level class. (I mean, you are supposed to be "ready" for it.) Overall, Dr. Forster is a chill and nice professor. The quips give him character and he focuses on getting people ready for the next level. Some peeps have skill issue.
Dr. Forster is a great professor who greatly reinforced my knowledge learned in CHEM 103. Most of his classes comprise of lectures, but it is what he does outside of class that makes him incredible. Dr. Forster not only provides review sessions for exams, but also goes over exams so that you are aware of your mistakes. He also curves grades!
Seems like people are grading him on content and not actually his teaching skill, the content is fairly easy and you should pass the class with some work, but I do feel like most of his lectures consist of going over the easy problems, and breezing over hard ones. Many exams I had during his summer period had issues with them (wood format)
Lectures are mostly conceptual with rambling about stuff that wont be needed on the exam. Any example problems are way easier than the test. Its not too bad if taken after Chem 103 but still challenging overall. Personally hated his lectures because it was unhelpful. Also claims canvas doesnt grade how he wants and has his own way of doing it
Mr. Forster is a nice guy but his lectures are really hard to pay attention to. He does very little examples and the ones he does do are really easy compared to the actual test. The wording in his exams is difficult to understand. Lots of self teaching.
Exams are unreasonably hard. He does easy examples during lecture, and when exams come around they are nothing like the notes, HW, or practice problems. I understand the material, and have no problem with lab, homework, or even practice exams. But the real exams are something else entirely. I study constantly just to receive subpar scores. Avoid.
If you need this class for your degree, and he's the only professor teaching it, wait till next semester. General Chemistry itself is not rocket science, but with the way Dr. Forster teaches, it feels like it is. He makes the lectures easy and the exams insanely difficult. Forget about going to office hours, he doesn't show up to them. AVOID HIM
First off, he's a nice guy and he'll help you if you go to his office hours. However, as others have pointed out, his exams are MUCH more difficult than the examples he goes over. You could feel very confident on the material but bomb the exam because it has so many curveballs. If you're really good at chem, you'll pass; if not, take another prof.
overall nice guy and is caring and helpful he cares about his students but his lecture's don't really help with actual exams and the homework is stupidly hard sometimes his lecture goes over very easy problems but his exams questions are not really hard he does not really teach how to go over them
i enjoyed professor forster's 121 class. he provides guided notes for every lecture, which helped me know what to focus on for tests. most of your grade is made up of 2 exams (drops the lowest one) and the final. he also curves exams. lectures can be dense and the hw is often harder than the in-class examples, but it's still not too bad overall.
Not a bad guy, but exams are incredibly harder than whats taught. He throws in a ton of curveballs on that students don't know how to do. He does curve the exams if class scores significantly lower than expected. However, he's definitely not the best TEACHER. he doesn't put grades into canvas, so you dont know ur grade half of the time.
Dr. Forster is RLLY nice and smart, but he is not the best at teaching. Be prepared to teach yourself and you also don't really know your grade until the class is over. His exams often are harder than his in lecture problems. He does give extra credit, curves exams, and also willing to adjust the grading scale tho which is very nice.
Overall he was a really nice guy, but the lectures weren't 100% reflective of what's on homework and exams. However the lowest exam is dropped and he curves generously if people don't do as well as he hoped. He also offers extra credit which is nice. Just do TONS of practice problems and keep track of units and you should be fine.
Mr. Forester is a nice person but not a great teacher. His exams often expect a level of understanding that is not consistent with what he teaches during lecture, same with homework. Lots of self teaching is involved which was only made harder by the text book he sort of follows.
