Really nice guy, requires work, but it is pretty easy
Really good teacher, have heard horror stories about the other fin140 prof's
Super smart and helps out a lot. Tough exams but a great teacher
Tried to make law interesting. First test was hard, but he made them easier.
Very nice guy but the tests were too hard. The people who cheated don't think so
no reading ness., lecture only and must be able to think creatively
Really wonderful teacher. Makes class interesting. Tests are pretty hard.
Great teacher and very smart man, tests were hard but the best class I have take
Good person! Helpful. Generous with the C's!
only gives about 6 a's and b's, just chill in here and get a c
Nice guy. If you study, you can do well.
Only a couple A's and 5or 6 B'c everybody else = C even the ones with 50%
hard tests but he makes the class interesting... you will probably get a c
He know his stuff, hard tests for sure. Good teacher, funny at times. Study, and do all the reading
a sincere guy that really wants to see his students succeed. i recommend taking him.
adorable man. although the class is very hard and it's very likely to get a C, he's a nice guy. but must memorize everything he lectures, everything from the book to do well on exams, understand and interpret bits by bits. i recommend taking him though.
I studied pretty hard and got a B, so it's very possible to get a good grade. He gives everyone who has F's atleast a C, unless you don't put forth any effort. He's a great professor.
Great teacher. Hard tests but reading pays off. Always available for questions. Funny. Nothing lower than a C
very smart man and great prof. tests are hard, but he wont give any lower than a C. take him!!!
I really enjoyexd his class. You will learn a lot about law. The tests are hard and require a lot of studying. It is possible to get above a C but you will have to work hard to get it.
Great professor! Knows what he is talking about which seems to be a rarity at State. The only drawback is the grades. EVERYONE but the freakishly smart people get C's. An interesting class though, highly recommended.
Hilarous man. Half of the lecture I would crack up at his jokes. He makes law very interesting and understandable. Uses real world examples and inturn you to relate to the material. If you show effort he won't fail you.
a great teacher, actually makes learning something fun if you pay attention. Very fair grading standards
Very nice and intelligent man. He has made me consider the law profession. He truly wants his students to understand and to be able to apply the law. Take him.
Curve helps out on the test. Some lectures are interesting, others drag. Always tells jokes though
Will not get anything lower than a C. ONe can basically goof off and still get a C, without trying.
keeps you interested. tough tests but he curves. great teacher. moves at pace of the class. funny. he draws from his own experiences which helps a lot.
He knows what he is talking about. He tells person stories that pertain to law which helps you understand his lectures. very dry sense of humor but great guy really wants u to succeed. Tests are very hard, but u wont get less than C in class.
HARD class but great guy! Take him instead of Block and Harrington! You'll regret it if you do. He grades on a BIG curve! You can't get any lower than a C.
I understand business law after taking this class. Kinda made me think about law school, too. Material is tough but you can do well if you try. I had fun going to this class, Graf is a pretty funny guy in his own right.
Interesting class, Subject matter is difficult, does a good job explaining the extensive material. Nice guy, wants you to learn and has no problem giving out good grades.
great guy...class is hard if you don't attend, but take notes and study and you will do well. BLOCK is INHUMANE, take GRAF for a passing grade
Great clarity. Very understandable. Very friendly. Has a great sense of humor. However, his tests are very difficult. Other than that great class.
Sweet guy, funny (likes cartoons and jokes!) Class isn't too horrible, kind of interesting but a lot of material.
Well the good news to slackers is that you can't get lower than a C... but getting a good grade in the class requires lots of studying (reread chapters as much as possible!). I got a B (I was disappointed, really studied for the final).
good teacher... KNOWS his law. Take him and you'll do well later, fo sho.
He's funny cause he tries to be funny. Hard exams, but curves wonderfully. Doesn't aim to screw anyone over. Cool guy
He's a really nice teacher and knows the law. Very soft spoken, so it's hard to stay engaged in lecture. Tests are difficult, you need to know reading very well. You get what you put in, so you need to really work for the "A," and I mean WORK!
Cool teacher, knows his law very well. Lectures are somewhat boring. Tests are hard but the curve helps alot.
he's a really nice teacher, but the class is hard
He's a great teacher, used to be a lawyer, so he has all kinds of personal stories that make the class more interesting and help you understand concepts. The tests are hard, but he curves, he wants everyone to get a good grade. Definitely take him.
Graf is a one of a kind. He is so intelligent and really knows his stuff. Class is challenging for the simple minded. study hard for tests, go to class. you will pass
he cracks me up.he's like the dork that wants to be funny, and so he's funny. lectures are on power point, but gives good story examples that are funny too. tests are essay, tf and multiple choice.hard because the material is detailed, but graf helps
hard class. cool teacher. thats it.
Graf is very nice and funny. Lectures are powerpoint but make sure u go to class b/c a lot of material is based on lec. notes. Hard stuff so study. Exams are very detailed and essays are pretty complex.
Take him. The class materials are hard but he took to interesting places. Very intelligent and helpful. The most helpful I have in SDSU.
The material is hard, and the exams can be hard as well. Go to class and take notes from powerpoint, he tries to help as much as he can. NEVER GIVES BELOW A C i failed EVERYTHING quizes, exams, and final.. still got a C .. UNBELIEVABLE!!! =)
Great teacher. Takes crashers, just get there early to sign in. Hard subject, do all the reading and take good notes. Huge curves on everything.
Hahaha. His cartoons and jokes are the best! He's a funny guy. Knows his stuff. Tests are difficult but curves are awesome. Lectures on powerpoint.
This guy is hilarious, his jokes are so damn simple and funny they make me laugh so hard, other than that he gives you all the material you need to know, just study and youll do fine.
very smart guy. hard class, but best prof. if you have to take the class. Read the book, take VERY careful notes in class. Grades on a curve. Two midterms and a final and that's it. Funny too!
Good prof. definatley recommend
A really good teacher. The subject matter isn't the easiest, but he does a wonderful job explaining everything and has a lot of good examples. He used to be a lawyer and work for a lot of different places, so he really knows his material. Definitely take him if you're taking 240.
Great teacher. Smart guy. He tries to make the hard material fun for the students. Also grades on a curve for the whole class. You will learn and he doesn't like giving less than a C, so you'll be fine.
Hardest class ive taken at State, one of the best teachers ive ever had. Graf knows the material is hard and does not punish the students for it. If you go to class, do the best you can on the tests, you will get a C, Very Understanding teacher, I got a C, but i learned a lot about Law in general.
Graf is an awesome teacher. The class is hard but thats just because there is so much to remember. Definitly take him u learn a lot and he is prob the best for Finance. Easy C work harder and you'll prob get a B
best class! he is such a nice guy and knows his material. i got a B and studied so much. u will learn a lot! take his class! talk to him too, he's very very intelligent.
this teacher is so easy. i got a c just for going and taking the tests and bombing them. he is kind funny too. just get the notes, study them and youre good to go
I got a B+ and studied my ass off for the first two midterms. I actually got migraines after taling them! The final was cumalative so I just said fu** it and didn't study so hard. Ok class, just lots and lots of notetaking..take good notes, read boring book, and study hard and you'll be fine!
The tests are gnarly hard, i dont care what these people say. But I did learn a lot, and he isnt too hard to listen to if you have to sit through lectures like these. Dont bother with the book, just take REALLY good notes and DONT MISS CLASS!
The class is crazy hard. I got a D or F on every test but he hooks up C's no problem. I slept every day in class didn't take notes and barely studied except for final and got a C. I had friends who did the same but studied really hard on final and got a B.
Lectures are pretty interesting, if you just go to class, you can get decent grade. He curves like crazy.
his class was so hard. the tests were damn crazy. try taking someone else. lectures were incredibly boring
Great teacher explains material very well. Hard tests and can ask off the wall questions at times and some trick also, however I highly recommend this professor. Offers a lot of knowledge on the subject from his experience in the field. Work extra hard for an A…I got an A-.
Great Proffessor, Relates subject to real world, if you pay attention its really interesting and rewarding knowledge. Class is not easy at all, must take excellent notes, and memorize all vocab, but you can do great if you do those things. Overall take him if you actually want to learn something, not for easy A.
nice guy, and very smart, but his tests are crazy, hard! a lot of note taking. powerpoint doesn't help. probably the best teacher though
WOW great prof, very interesting, KNOWS the material. Lots of experience, very funny but tests are wicked hard. Easiest of all the finance teachers but REALLY REALLY study for tests-- his questions are really tricky. 3 tests-- usually 100 Q's T/F, Multi choice and a few fill-ins.
great class! I loved the lectures (ok a few were boring) but overall, very interesting material to learn. Really nice teacher, always willing to clarify anything for you, during or after class.
This class is fantastic. Though the class is NOT easy, it isn't that difficult either because he is such a great teacher. Very funny, entertaining examples, really cares about his students. Can relate to field. 3 tests that make up your grade, with awesome curve. Take awesome notes and youll get an A+ like me.
This class is far from easy but Prof Graf will get you through it. He is one of the smartest guys ever and he makes this subject interesting in his lectures. His tests are pretty difficult and they require tons of studying. But the good news is that he grades them on a phat curve. He is awesome so I recommend taking him.
great teacher, fun, interesting lectures. Will help you with any question, even your personal legal questions. His exams are hard, so be ready...but overall the material is all pretty interesting and you'll enjoy learning it. Also, you can download graf's powerpoint slides off blackboard.
Prof Graf is SUCH a good teacher. Like everyone says, he makes the material interesting but the tests are hard. His curve is 1/3 of the class gets A's, 1/3 class gets B's, and 1/3 of class gets C's - no one fails. Read the book occasionally! I got a B-.
Best class, best teacher. His tests are tricky, but if you read the question carefully, you can usually spot the trap. he gives great story examples that make the class as easy as it can be. granted I took it over summer school, but honestly I wish I could have it in the school year so at least something good happens during a usual**** sdsu day.
Hands down, the BEST and most interesting class I have taken in college. He tries to be funny, and the effort alone makes him pretty funny. He's super smart too in his field. Best way to study is to, read BEFORE class, take good notes, then go home and rewrite them. Then a few days before the test, start rereading your notes.
great class. very interesting. but his voice made me do this often...ZzZZZzz. take him. he knows his stuff. u'd be suprise on how much experience this man has in the business world especially with GE, since he referred to it 1million times. great jokes, unclear powerpoints, hard tests, but great guy, REALLY! =)
Best teacher I ever had at SDSU! take him for the love of god.
Funny, personable professor. You'll enjoy his cartoons at the beginning of each class. Print out power point, take good notes, and study. Has 2 mid-terms and 1 final. They are hard but graded on curve. NO PAPER!
Quite possibly one of the funniest people on the face of the Earth. He starts off every class with some of his comics that he has made over the years and they are so akwardly not funny that you can't help laughing at the dead silence after the punch line. His tests are super difficult, but you are guarenteed at least a C in the class.
wow. this guy is the best professor i have ever had. he knows more than any other instructor about the subject, he gives real life examples which are quite funny, and you are garunteed a c in there as long as you go take the test. i would reccommend graf to anyone. go for the grafee!!!
I would definately recommend him! By far one of my favorite teachers ever at SDSU. He knows the subject well and it is easy to grasp, though the tests are hard. Huge curve though! Great teacher, very funny, do take him!
Great Teacher, but the class is very interesting. He makes the class fun, shows you his small drawings before class, gives real life examples from his work as a lawyer inside the GE corporation. DEFINETLY TAKE HIM, YOU WILL TRULY LEARN A LOT. test are hard (the average is always a C or below), but study hard, and you can get a B, and possibly an A.
Very good prof. his class is very interesting and gives really good examples. one of the best teachers i have had so far. funny person and a very intellegent man. do take him u will enjoy this class :D
Great teacher. He's sometimes funny and he always tries to be which makes him pretty funny/cool. As for the class, it's pretty interesting listening to him and he has a lot of experience and gives good examples. His tests are no joke, so be sure you study. It'll be helpful if you can take detailed notes in class, but it will be hard to follow.
Graf is a great teacher. Class is interesting, but the tests are really hard. take really good class notes, and read the book. Everything from the chapters in the book is fair game 4 the tests, and the only reason i did well on the them is because i made flash cards that outlined every chapter 2 b covered on the test. take graf he doesn't fail any
this class is boring as hell, unless you're into law. he has a good sense of humor but only uses it for the first 5 min of every class with his jokes/comics. the test ?s were way too detailed. the only good thing is that the class is curved. be sure to read before class or else u won't kno what hes talking about.plus itll help in the end, obviously
Graf, is probably one of the best teachers at state, he is funny and tries his best to make a boring subject fun, read before class, he is a good teacher, but his test are hard, but he curves them. P.S i have never seen someone eat so many M&M's.
Great teacher. We need more Grafs at State. Cares about students and subject. Very knowledgable and has great stories. Listen to them and remember them. They are often on the test. Hard to fail class (if it is possible). Hard tests, but score your best. Should of had B+, given A (and no I didn't win the Grafy). Take Graf!
Great Teacher. Go to class and pay attention and youll do fine. His tests are mainly from lecture with a little bit of book. Take this class with him if possible. There are no assignments, and he curves generously. Great Guy.
Graf is the man! I would highly recommend taking him for Business Law. He knows what he's doing and adds a twist of humor to his lectures which make them easy to listen to. The subject is tough but if you listen and take good notes, you'll do ok. His final is pretty hard but he grades on a curve. Definitely a cool prof
Awesome teacher who knows his stuff but not an ez class. Take good notes and READ the text. Good note taking and flash cards are a must, knowing the terms will help the flow of the material & cases. Exmas are tough so be prepared, make sure to read each q carefully. Always looked foward to his jokes/comics/drawings, can't blame a guy for trying.
Just a hard class, teacher is smart, but kinda boring. MUST be in class everyday to get the material, can't do well on the tests just studing the lecture slides and the book.
I got a grafy. To do well: 1.take notes in class 2.go home, organize, and rewrite them 3.READ THEM AGAIN. When test time comes, you'll be glad you had those notes typed up and organized. Read the chapters BEFORE coming to class, otherwise you might get lost in his lecture; probably not though because he explains things well.
Great teacher. Knows his stuff well. Applies the material to real life situations. Tests are really hard but curved. His comics are hilarious
Awesome and extremely funny teacher. Class is very dense (usually 2 classes at a community college) but Graf is very knowledgable and is probably one of the smartest prof's you'll ever have. If you want to do well, tape record the lectures, take real good notes, and read everything at least once.
Great Teacher. Knows his stuff well. Applies the material to real life examples. Tests are hard. The curve makes it easy to get a C as long as you try. Sit in the front cuz he talks softly. Shows his own comics everyday before lecture.
Graf is a good teacher because explains things well. Lectures can get a bit tedious but are always clear. Talks softly so get a seat near front. I didn't have very good lecture notes but was able to study directly out of the book and still got an A-. You gotta be devoted to studying and you'll do fine, esp. with the generous curve. Recommended.
I would love to listen this guy lecture and tell stories for hours at a time if he would be willing to talk that long. Hands down the best teacher I have taken at SDSU. Class is NOT easy, yet i always say that in classes where i get an A. Alot of memorization, but he's so good at explaining it you'll just soak it all in like a sponge. Take him!
Graf is THE best professor at State. This class is extremely hard, but if you throughly read the book, attend class everyday, go to his office hours, & study a week in advance for his cummulative final- you'll get an A. Because of this class, I am thinking about becoming a lawyer! He is that good! Take him and noone else...
Great teacher. His tests are extremely hard and long. You CAN'T study everything the night before, its just too much material. Lecture notes are online, but you must attend class to understand the material w/ real examples. His huge curve helps A LOT. (w/out it everyone would fail). Has good humor and eats a lot of M&M's ! Take him!
His humor is what makes you forget about how hard the class really is. A few midterms will bring you back to reality though. Fun class, by the way.
Graffee is awesome. I look forward to going to class just to hear his jokes and see the comics he drew. Tests are extremely difficult but there's a huge curve. Take him..he's adorable!
DEFINITELY A BRILLANT TEACHER. THIS GUY CAN LECTURE YOU THE ENTIRE CODE OF LAW IN A WAY THAT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND. HIS EXAMS ARE SIMPLY JUST TOO HARD. HIS JOKES ARE LIKE THE FUNNIEST JOKES COMPARED TO ANY OTHER PROFESSOR THAT I HAVE TAKEN WHO CAN CRACK JOKES THAT ARE VERY FUNNY AND INTELLIGENT.
awesome guy, genuinely cares about students, knows the law like back of his hand, gives real life experiences, lectures in a fun way. office hours help clarify questions. jokes and cartoons rock! sit near the front if he doesn't have a mic. tests will hurt, major curve. (2midterms 1 final, final counts most) improvement is taken into consideration.
This man is amazing! He has a GREAT sense of humor and knows about EVERYTHING. The class is really challenging (and this was my 2nd time taking this class, different teacher last time though), but he doesn't give a grade lower than a C. A LOT to remember, but if you study hard you'll do well... something I didn't do enough of.
fairly difficult class but good prof. he keeps things interesting, tells a lot of stories, and tells jokes.
I'm so glad I got into his class. The class in general is not easy, but this guy is genuinely nice. He doesn't like giving D's so he really looks at improvement. He has some corny jokes but he's a good guy. I did horrible in the 2 midterms and improved in the final and passed with a C. Take him, he curves tests to help you!
Great teacher. Tests are very hard but the curve more than compensates. Got 3 C's on the tests but an A- in the class. Teacher is very dry but still entertaining.
Graf is def. the best to take for FIN240. He is not easy but his curve helps SO much. He rarely gives anyone lower than a C. His tests are incredibly hard but if you study and ATTEND CLASS, many of the questions are from there. He's such a great teacher! Really funny, information is very applicable and he's such a cute little guy!
graf is a very nice professor with a great sense of humor. 2 midterms and a final. and he does assign seating for like 150 students, but no one really ends up sitting where they are assigned. doesnt give lower than a c. BIG CURVES. c- on first test, b- on second and probably failed the final and still got a C+ in the class
Very hard class but Graf makes it as easy as possible to understand and does a pretty good job since this subject is HARD!! Good curve. REALLY nice guy. Go to office hrs for help, he's extreamly willing but GO TO CLASS. Tests are tough and there's never enough time to finish.
Very knowledgable professor. Teaches difficult subject but goes over several examples in class. If you don't attend class, you will probably get "lost". Tries to keep things interesting with cute little corny jokes. I appreciate the attempt at humor. Relates to students well.
I could not survive this class if I did not go everyday. His examples are extremely helpful and his jokes are really entertaining. His tests are difficult, especially when it comes to true and false, so make sure you know the material well. The curve is pretty good too.
Took 705 as undergrad - couldn't fit 445 into my life. Very difficult class. Tests are on complex and detailed comprehension not a macro understanding. Do every problem in each chapter and you will be relatively prepared. T/F are very tricky. When he mentions something will be tested on it is pay attention - attdn mandatory imo - good class!
Graf is one of my favorite teachers ever. Made me consider being a lawyer. Very funny and interesting. 3 Tests and thats it. No hw no quizzes. Need to come to class. Gives everyone an opportunity to improve. Has great examples and experience. Business Law is a tough class, no way around it. Take Graf, he's a great professor.
Graf is awesome. he is super easy to understand and is really funny. his class is difficult because there is so much information, but he explains it well. If you don't go to class your screwed because he talks about a lot of stuff not in the book. I got an A- in the class but i tried really hard on the last two exams.
He is a great teacher. The subject is difficult, but he definitely knows his stuff. He is funny, curves the tests like crazy, doesn't use the book really, and has a dry-humor, especially with his personal drawings. Take extremely organized and detailed notes and you will get an A.
Great teacher! It is important that you attend every class though. take good notes, and make flashcards when studying for the test. Really funny guy, keeps even the boring subjects interesting, and you end up knowing a lot about law and business. Sweet class. I hightly recommend it.
Great teacher. He has funny cartoons that he made himself, and he tries to make the class as interesting as possible. Not one of the easiest classes I have taken though. He has three exams including the final, two written parts on the last two tests. Study the book, thats where everything comes from.
Professor Graf was easily my favorite teacher so far in college. He keeps class interesting. You must either go every day or get the class notes from a friend. I still remember almost everything and it has been over a year. If you are interested in law or business taking him is a MUST.
I took Professor Graf last year and I still think of him regularly as being a model of excellent teaching. Smart, experienced, funny.... he's great.
Graf is a hilarious, interesting teacher. HIs lectures are long, and you must take very detailed notes and study like crazy. The tests are really hard, even though they are multiple choice and true/false, they are misleading and tricky. However, he grades on a big curve, and he does not like to fail students, especially if he see you improve.
Test questions can be tricky but with a solid understanding of the material and attendance to his lectures they aren't bad. The book is kind of unnecessary if you take good notes, but he can cover a lot of material so its nice to reference after class. He has a great sense of humor and GREAT stories. Was one of my most enjoyable classes.
It's not an easy class, but not a hard class. You need to read and study for the tests. Attendance is not mandatory but you get credit for going. Take really good notes because everything he says is probably going to be on the quiz. Class is curved because tests are tricky. 50 T/F and 50 multiple choice questions
This course is by far the hardest one ive take at state. im an A student and i got a B in this course.. i Studied my butt off for the each exam and didnt do so hot. 3 exams 33% each. attendance and good notes are important.. READ THE CHAPTER b4 class... i regret not doing so... A LOT of info in this course.. he is monotone but funny in a weird way.
Extremely difficult class so you have to go. I feel like this class would have been much more enjoyable if I didn't take it once a week for 3 hours. Interesting for the hour, then his voice gets a little boring. Overall, he seems like a nice guy and his comics are funny.
Go to every class and take good notes. He only tests on stuff he specifically mentions in class. Hilarious dude who has a soft spot for Deadmau5, Taylor Swift, and Twilight. Take this class you will learn a ton.
One of the professors I have had. He knows his material and presents them very well. The exam is very very difficult. I had to study for 2 weeks before the midterm and finals....a lot of material so if you want to get an A, start studying early...that's the trick
Great guy and super knowledgeable with a lot of experience. Tests are tough so go to every class and take extensive notes. Everything on tests are mentioned in class but not necessarily in the book! I don't think you can write as fast as he covers stuff, so bring a laptop(plenty of plugs in class) and type notes right into the powerpoint file.
He always opens class with a joke... they're not very good but that is what is funny about it. He's tests are curved and difficult if you don't go to class because he will have random questions and you will only know the answer if you were in class. Take extensive notes and you'll be fine.
Graf is a smart and funny guy (very dry sense of humor) his class is HARD but there is a massive curve that will help you out in the end. I went to office hours, went to class most of the time and read a little bit...it was NOT enough...take extensive notes and be in contact with Graf.
Smartest professor you'll ever meet. His test are extremely hard but its curved greatly. I enjoyed coming to his class because it was interesting and funny. You'll wish that he is your lawyer if you ever run into legal trouble. Great professor!
P GRAF is the man! You gotta love this guy to death, he is so smart and he teaches the class really well. His test are the hardest test I have ever taken, but I don't really care because I have learned so much in his class. PAY ATTENTION AND TAKE REALLY REALLY GOOD NOTES, i filled up an entire notebook, and make flash cards or study with a friend,
He's SO FUNNY. He took attendance twice randomly. A ton of stuff he talks about during class he puts in his exams. If you actually listen, he really does help a lot. Make sure you read the textbook, that's the only way you'll pass the class. I really enjoyed the class though.
He's so cool and funny!!! Look out for his cartoons! He's so good at teaching such a hard subject! His tests are extremely hard and he says he does it on purpose so he curves greatly! Got an avg of probably 65% on the three exams and got a C in the class. Just pay attention to him cuz even little random details can show up on test! He's so funny!
Mr. Graf the cooolest! He knows his field well. This is the kind of teacher I want to have in all my classes. Test are tough, but you learn a lot. He also curves (huge curves). Too bad its his last semester.
Really a great professor! Connects with the students through humor, and makes a very hard topic seem easy. Beware 50 True/False question on test, and his test are far from easy. Such a nice and funny guy!
hes really nice and easy to get help from. make sure you go to class because the book is hard to get through and he explains things very well in class so that you can actually understand the concepts. it was really hard but i learned a lot of interesting things about business law so it was a good class overall.
Oof. Okay if I could take this class over again I would; 1) take first attempt of quiz early in week and slow down to actually look a the review/answer feedback 2) figure out how to shift curves and see things graphically early on! This will reduce anxiety Lectures can be arduous at times. Takes not of who goes to office hours..
