Great teacher! He was very understanding, cool and interesting to learn. I enjoyed taking his class. It is not a difficult course, unless you obviously dont do the required work. There is a lot of reading and lectures are long, but it helps while taking the exams. Would def retake his class

He's great! Class is interesting and he's pretty laid back. Lectures did tend to drag but he's obviously really into what he's teaching which makes the PPs less tedious. If you show up to class and participate, you'll do fine. Plus, he's pretty generous as far as grading, in my opinion. Overall, great teacher, even if science isn't your thing.

Very understanding, except those very tedious lab works. But if you majoring in science, those lab works will be a really practical exercise in real life.

Dr. Gulezian is an excellent professor. He is very passionate about what he teaches, which helps make the course material that much better. You do have to put the effort in if you expect a good grade, but overall it is not too difficult. I would recommend taking Dr Gulezian if you have the opportunity!

Great Professor. If you want to learn and grow as a person you should take his class. Labs are long but they are meaningful.Great enthusiasm about the topics,always clear and willing to help if you need it. Dr. Gulezian is one knowledgeable citizen ready to spread knowledge to his students.

Was interesting and boring at the same time. Interesting cause, I have become more aware of the current crises,and changed my bad habits. Boring because of long lecture. But I have to tell you I am a lazy guy. Won't regret if you take this class. Chance to improve your knowledge even if you are not a science guy.

VERY passionate on Environmental Science! I took him his first semester as a teacher. Labs and class overall were interesting. Lecture days were a bit long but worth it in the end. If you actually study PowerPoints before the tests you're golden. Attendance is on you and your want for success. I would definitely take another class with him!

great teacher! he is a really easy grader. I ad some prior knowledge of the subject but he just made me get more interested. I recommend 100% just don't miss a lot of days because it goes pretty fast.

Wonderful professor for science majors but his multiple choice questions require dissecting(something he prides himself on). Grades fairly on lab work, offers extra credit and the amount of information I took in from his teaching makes him a worthwhile professor to take!

Really enjoyed this class. Professor is very accurate & very passionate in the subject. For the labs..its really fun, as its majority of field trips online word document drop box uploading. It gives a lot of points of multiple choice questions with 1 or two essay questions. All exams are based on lectures. A Fun class You can earn a good grade

Bio 106 is easy. Teacher is young and cool. Very understanding if you have a problem with an assignment. 6 tests throughout the course and the final is optional and will take place of lowest test score. Great teacher, great class

Excellent teacher, loves his subject matter. Lectures are long but he manages to keep them interesting. Expectations are clear, if you do the work and show some effort the grades VERY fair. If you didn't think about the environment before this class, it will change your thoughts entirely. Would recommend this class to anyone, not just science types

I wish I could retake this class. it was unbelievably enjoyable. great teacher, who definitely knows what he's doing. I promise you that if you are not in anyway interested in environmental science, you will be after this class.

Awesome teacher! If you enjoy biology, you will really like this class. The way he teaches this class is geared towards applying it to the real world. He is an easy grader. His exams are difficult though. They are all conceptual questions, which require you to pick them apart and really think about them. But he offers 10 points of EC on each one.

One of the best classes I've ever had. Inspirational, passionate, and overall awesome teacher. Makes you really want to do the best you can and get involved. Doesn't hurt that he's also funny, cute, and a decent grader. If you put in the time, show you can articulate your thoughts and understand the experimentlab, you'll get a good grade! :)

His tests are pretty hard but if you go to the lectures and actually pay attention you would be fine. He gives very specific examples which you will then have to talk about on the tests. He is very passionate about teaching and loves what he does.

Doctor Gulezian is an excellent professor. He is passionate about what he teaches. His knowledge is very impressing. When any of the students ask a question, he goes above and beyond to answer it in full detail. Very inspirational, he can keep the students focused and interested. I enjoyed his lectures a lot. This is by far the best professor i've ever had at Oakton. He is extremely knowledgeable about the environment and if you're looking to actually learn something important, take this class. I was never really interested in science and this class made me want to learn more. You definitely get more out of this class than just an easy credit.

Overall very good teacher. I thought we would be learning more about the environment and current issues. But this class is mostly on how to collect irrelevant data and interpret it. He is very smart and willing to help.

Very fair professor. Lists expectations from day one and treats all students with respect. Dr. Paul is very knowledgeable and passionate about his field and is often times very funny. Would take again. If you apply yourself, you will do well.

The best teacher I've had at OCC, Dr. Gulezian's class was one I always enjoyed going to. His lectures are exciting, his grading is extremely fair, and his labs/assignments are creative and fun. He is clearly passionate about what he teaches, and I whole-heartedly believe that this has been the most important class I've ever taken.

The professor is knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. He makes the lectures and labs enjoyable. He is a fair grader on exams and homework. The lab reports and discussion responses on articles are very time consuming unfortunately. Great class, but be prepared to spend a lot of time on the outside class work!

Paul Gulezian has, by a considerable amount, been my outright favorite experience at OCC. It is hard not to get excited for this class, his passion and enthusiasm are inspiring, and his teachings extend beyond the classroom. Be prepared to feel a sense of urgency, you cannot take this class and not develop fervor for the environment. Thank you!

Where to begin? Gulezian is awesome. Chill vibes from the beginning, a very modern professor. Super respectful and helpful. Clearly outlines work that needs to be done. FYI, if you skip class, it will be hard to catch up. Lot's of information learned in class, HW is essentially labs. Plenty of EC opportunities if you don't do so hot on your tests.

Dr. Gulezian is very passionate about educating his students about the environment. He stays current with topics and makes it easy to relate. Dr. Gulezian is very educated and really knows his stuff. I really enjoyed being in his class and it has made an impact in my personal life.

Excellent Professor, I did Bio 106 Environmental Science. A class not to be missed if you care about the environment and want to learn a lot more about the planet. Very helpful, fair and loves his job.

He is clearly passionate and enthusiastic about what he teaches, therefore you'll easily enjoy his classes. BIO-103/ANT-202 was possibly the best class I have taken I have taken so far.

I really enjoyed Paul's class. There are 2 teachers you can take for Enviro studies, and Paul is the harder choice. I am glad I took him however. He is extremely knowledgeable on a variety of topics, but he is good at explaining. He has a lot of labs, but he grades fairly. His tests are hard but you can get up to 10% with extra credit. Not bad.

Paul is a great teacher who really gives you the full story on everything he lectures about. He really gets his students to open their minds and he presents factual evidence for all of his claims. The labs are great and well organized. Getting to go outside for class was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Definitely not an easy grade class, but he is fair with grades and expectations. Lectures can be dry and attendance matters to some extent for the exam. Gives extra credit on each exam!

Possibly the greatest professor I've had in college yet (if not ever). Extremely kind and intelligent, he's often available to give advice or help outside of class. Doesn't pressure people into taking part in discussions, but is always very tolerant of others' points of view. Will write great recommendation letters if requested. Highly recommended

If you need a bio class, take this one. Gulezian is amazing, I have learned so much from this man and am so glad I decided on taking him. He truly cares about the environment and that really shows in his teaching and shows he doesn't just talk about it, he does it and it's so inspirational. Easily one of the best professors I've ever had. Take him!

What I learned in this class would change the way I live my life. I learned so much about the environment and how making simple choices in my daily life could have such a big impact on the environment. Paul is passionate about the subject and an expert in the field. Course should be a gen-ed requirement like math and English. Highly recommend!

Maybe one of the best Professors at Oakton you can take. All in all, if your looking for someone that actually enjoys the subject soo much that takes time out his day to post interesting articles that relate to the course then this is your guy. Also, he's a really good musician and actually incorporates it into his labs which I thought was unique.

Dr. G is the bomb dot com! He will change your life and that, to me, is what it means to be a successful teacher. Im usually a kinesthetic learner but with how interesting this professor makes his lectures, i found myself to be capable of auditory learning. And for that i am grateful. He is truely inspiring.

Dr. G is one of the greatest professors I've ever taken. He's incredibly passionate about the environment and loves teaching it to his students. The class is fairly easy if you do the work involved with it. I recommend this professor to everyone. Dr. G makes class fun and interesting and is a real inspiration on how to live sustainability.

My semester went really well with Paul. Overall he is a really great teacher and the material was always explained thoroughly. He also gives really good personalized feedback on basically every assignment. One thing I noticed in his class, it may be because my course had no lab, was that he sometimes tends to talk too fast.

Dr. G loves teaching us about the Environment! I was fearful when this course started because I've always had difficulty In Biology, but I ended up getting a B. Gulezian is a very respectful and caring person. He's never boring because of his passion for Biology. The class isn't super hard if you do what you gotta do. Dr. G is the best!

Pauls really good with giving you feedback and uploading grades right aways. He does lecture a lot , not many group activities but if you do the work its an easy class to pass.

Dr. G is one of my all-time favorite professors. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about what he teaches, and genuinely has a love of teaching. He is super understanding and always willing to help out. His labs are awesome and his class inspired me to pursue environmental studies in the future. He is very personable.

I really enjoyed his class he was very caring and not intimidating at all. His course material was very interesting and important know. It wasn't that anxiety producing. Best class I have taken at Oakton so far, I would highly recommend it.

Professor Gulezian was one of my favorite teachers. Hes so genuine and actually cares about his students opinions and what they have to say. He answers any question anyone has and it super attentive. We didnt have homework, it was just labs. Some of the labs are super long but hes a super easy grader, just make sure you have time for the labs.

Can get a bit political but you can look past it because he's so great! Tests are easy and the final was optional. Loves participation and active students!! Take him!

Great teacher and a great man, I never minded online lectures because he was so passionate about it and made it enjoyable, if you just put the work into labs, pay attention, and takes notes youll do great. Also hes definitely one of those professors that youd hang out with he genuinely cares about his students.

I have taken both BIO 106 and 109 courses with Dr. Gulezian and both have been some of the easiest, most rewarding classes. Credit for in-person attendance, few group assignments with many ppt lectures. You WILL go outside!! Everything available on D2L, easy open note exam and tests on the honor system. Need his two lab books as well. TAKE HIM!!!

You can tell how knowledgeable he is and how much he cares about the stuff he teaches. He's a super chill guy and if you ever get the chance to take his class, DO IT! Professor Gulezian taught an excellent environmental science course that teaches you about the problems surrounding the environment, and their root causes through interesting lectures and simple, yet thought-inducing labs. If you take notes in lectures, the tests are straightforward. Overall a fantastically taught class!

One of my favorite teachers ever. He is very passionate about what he teaches and I was excited to come to class. Down to earth, respectful, and always responded to emails. There is some work that goes into this class but it was clearly explained and graded fairly. Overall awesome class and professor!

Professor G is extremely accommodating to his students. His class is a little boring sometimes because of how lecture-heavy it is but he really aims for your success. The only annoying thing is that he will use extra lab time for lecturing, and the lab can go really long. The lab homework is also pretty time-consuming, but it's not too hard.

Professor Gulezian has been my favorite teacher at Oakton! Just show up to class, complete the lab reports (which he gives you a week to complete) and listen to his lectures! Exams are open notes but you must follow the honor system policy. Great class and teacher!

This class is incredibly fun in the spring, and has of lots of field trips in the woods on campus. A lab report due every week and majority of them require lots of time put into it. Hes quick to answer emails, and will give extensions if asked a day before due date. Professor G is an awesome teacher, and will change how you look at the environment!

I learned a lot in this class and he gave us access to the lecture sides. Which I found to be helpful, so I could use them to review for the exams! Also I liked the extra credit opportunities he gave us. I would definitely take this class again and recommend the professor.

This class was very lecture and homework-heavy. However, he is an easy grader who simply cares that you understand and do the assignments. I took this class because of some reviews here and I'm glad I did. There were times when I was so annoyed at how long some of the assignments were but that's because I am a huge procrastinator.

Most of the class is group work. It's an easy class take this as your Gen Ed lab! The only thing I didn't like was you have to buy his textbook and it was around $170, you need it for the class. Other than that he's so nice and assignments are easy.

The professor respects students and treats them with understanding. Attend lectures and necessarily laboratory work, be active in the discussion. A great class to get to know the nature of the college

His lectures are extremely easy to listen to, and you can tell he genuinely cares about the environment and the other issues gone over in class. The workload was okay. He is very flexible with everything, and as long as you show up and pay attention, you'll be okay.

There are many who lack passion for their work, this professor is the opposite. Very engaging and informative.

Amazing professor. My grade was purely my fault, just do the work and you won't fail. Packed lectures but they're nothing too bad. Just make sure to keep up with the lab reports and you'll pass easily. As for the labs themselves, most are very engaging, but the labs where you're outside were some of the best by far. Definitely take his class.

Dr Gulezian is a wonderful professor and is always willing to help. He makes passing the class very easy. 4 unit assignments,4 exams (plus an optional final), and attendance are all that make up your grade. The exams are heavily based on lectures but are open notes, which is really nice. I overall enjoyed this class and would recommend it.

Honestly, Dr. G is the most chill professor ever. He teaches so well, and yes the lectures may be a bit long but you have a clear understanding of what's going on. Also, the only thing is that you need to get ahead of the lab reports because they will be piling in, but if you do need a extension, just email him ahead of time. So nice, and flexible.

the best prof i've ever got. also u can print out or bring notes to all the tests (very helpful), especially on the optional final exam. I love the outdoor labs we did, and the notes we took were very specific and helpful. I would take his class again. :)

Grades fairly and gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Lectures are long, but topics are explained clearly. Tests are a mix of multiple choice and essay questions- multiple choice can be challenging, but essay questions give students a good chance to show what they've learned. Notes are allowed on tests, which helps with the multiple choice.

He is an amazing professor that truly wants his students to succeed. He is extremely understanding and easy to get ahold of outside of class. He goes over slides during lectures and pauses to clarify if students are confused. Such a cool guy--I would definitely take Professor Gulezian again if I have the chance.

Quite an easy grader on lab reports and tests. His lectures are engaging and he encourages students to participate and think there way to answers before giving the answer to a question. Gives extra credit on every test and gives 3 late extensions to lab reports for the semester.
