Paul is a god when it comes to astronomy. His classes are always amusing and he is a very charismatic teacher. Hamill is awesome! He is so funny. He makes it easy to understand the material and he makes learning more interesting. He will tease you and crack jokes about you but he knows his stuff when it comes to the course. He is a great guy to get to know outside of class! He is so cool!

Loved this class!

Took astronomy with hamill and it was amazing. He teaches visually and prints off notes, and you fill in the blanks while he teaches. The class was exciting fun, and his passion for this subject makes you want to take part in discussions, and so on. The tests are easy if you study, and everyone should try this class out.

I fully recommend taking Astronomy with Mr. Hamill! There is a lot of information, but as long as you follow along and study for tests, you'll do fine! I took Intro to Astronomy during intersession, but I would reccomend taking it during a full semester. The material was very interesting to learn about and the night labs were cool, although I'm sure there would be more night lab time during a full semester.

I took Hamill's online meteorology class, it was very interesting and fun. With it being an online class, you have to read a lot to learn. Although I didn't meet him in person, he was a great teacher. The final and midterm are just bits and pieces of the test! Be active in discussions and you'll have an A!

First rate professor by any standard! Prof. Hamill loves his job and passes that positive energy into his teaching. He has no problem helping students and getting involved. I would recommend him to anyone.

Loved this class, I deffinetly recommend Mr. Hamill. His nick name is Billy Bob Hamill, so impress him by knowing that. Just pay attention, do the work and you should be fine, not much studying was nessesarry. He keeps things pretty fun. He is really down to earth and understanding. Another side note is that he like the Dallas Cowboys lol.

Really great teacher and you can always tell that he loves what he does. Tests are ONLY easy IF you STUDY for them. Look over his reviews carefully before the tests and if you don't understand something, ask him! he's always willing to help out the best that he can.

I had Hamill for Astronomy. He'll help you if you ask and don't leave after class. you have to show up, do the work and look like you enjoy the class and then he'll help you. He'll even raise your grade up if you do these things. if you don't then good luck! Don't need textbook, have everything with you. Exams are hard so study! 1 pop quiz came up.

Hamill is the GOAT. I'm going to miss his class he is a great teacher. If you show up do your labs and study for the tests you shouldn't have a problem getting a good grade. I would recommend this class, but not online! I've heard it's much more difficult online.

Professor Hamill is engaging and has a good sense of humor. His lectures are concise and gives you what you need to know to pass his astronomy class. His tests are fair and a mix of multiple choice, fill in the blank, short answer and T/F. He also adds 5 extra credit questions each test. If you pay attention and study, you will 0 problems passing.

He's a great guy, his class is fun, and the planetarium is getting a huge upgrade soon so lectures in the planetarium will be a lot of fun. The summer course is the best for night time viewing. If you need help with transferring to colleges and need a letter of rec. he's the plug. Stay after class and talk with him, he's a caring and fun guy.

Mr. Hamill is accessible outside of class. Whenever I have questions, I often visited his office even though this was an online class. As long as you submit assignments on time, and participate in discussion boards on a regular basis, you have no problem passing the course.

Mr. Hamill is a great teacher when it comes to meteorology. He also isn't shy to be fun with his students. However, the work for this class can be tough. Some labs are hard to understand or are simply tedious and there are sometimes test questions not found on the notes. As long as you listen to his lectures and use online notes, you should pass.

Very funny and down to earth teacher. The classwork can be very difficult and you'll really have to work hard at it, but you'll have others you can work with and he's always willing to help as well. Class is fun and never really boring; just be sure to pay attention as this kind of stuff does not come easy. Challenging work, but very fun class.

I really like professor Hamill! I don't really have any complaints!! Meteorology is a difficult subject, but he makes it fun and easy to understand.

I took both meteorology and astronomy with him and despite how difficult both classes are, he knows his stuff inside and out and will be there to lend a helping hand. In both classes, my exam grades were horrific, but he still pulled through and I passed both classes with a C and B! As long as he sees effort, your grade will get a boost!

Were only half way through the semester and Im already sad I wont have him as a professor after this class. He's one of the best teachers I've ever had, he's very knowledgeable and answers every question you could have. He's also very funny and lectures are NEVER dull. Planetarium is also a plus. 10/10 teacher.

Mr hamill is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He makes lectures fun and engaging to listen to, and he doesnt give homework. All you have to do is show up to class, listen to the lectures on the different chapters, and know your stuff on test. Before he gives you your test he will tell you before hand what you need to study.

Honestly such a good professor. He cares about his students and is passionate about what he teaches. He is really easy going. I missed a test and he told me "just take it before the end of the semester and I'll be happy" He works around everything you need and teaches so clearly.

The grades in this online class are all dependent on tests. Labs and discussions are easy point, if you give them your all you will get great extra credit. The hardest part is understanding the material and applying it to the tests. Although it's an intro class, it does take time to understand. He has great organization and is responsive online.

Mr. Hamill is probably the best professor I've had at MCC. He really cares about how you're doing in the class, and takes the time to tell you exactly what you would need on each test to get a certain grade. Course work is layed-out extremely well, so it' easy to follow along and know what is expected. Labs generally take half the time allocated.

More than enough time to complete labs. Makes me look forward to coming to class everyday. Even if you are the quiet one in class he will make sure you are doing well and get you engaged.

Prof. Hamill is a very respectable professor. However, the class is BRUTAL! Astron. may seem interesting to learn about, but it is VERY complex. It is not just about basic details on the planets and stars... There is no assigned homework ever!(yay) and the textbook is NOT needed because all of the notes are through powerpoint. Find a better class..

There really isn't much I can say about Professor Hamill that hasn't already been said; great professor, interesting lessons (albeit do drag on for ages, partly because they are three hours long), and upfront. Already more than a month into the course and I have yet to have a single homework assignment assigned. Easy A if you try.

Easily the best teacher I've ever had in my life. Made the lectures funny and enjoyable, no homework, he told you exactly what to prepare for on exams, and started each class giving detailed explanations on what weather is happening that day. You do a class vs professor challenge on weather forecasting. He made me want to go to class every day.

Take this class in person. Hard to take his class online- not easy to teach this to yourself (it might be a me problem). A good professor though shows you everything and is very thorough- I can't understand this all by myself.

Took this class online and found the course load to be relatively heavy. With that being said, Paul provides step-by-step videos to every lab which alleviates some of the pressure and stress. Additionally, he doesn't expect you to know every answer, which makes it easier to completely labs without worrying about not understanding parts.

If you know weather, this class is a breeze (pun intended)... if you do not know weather, this class is still a breeze. Intro to Meteorology was one of the best classes I took at MCC because of Paul. He is passionate about his job and his students. Textbook not necessary, all lectures prepare you for tests, clear study guide for test questions.
