Really nice guy and very helpful. He teaches to the lowest level of comprehension in the room, so if you already understand the material and other people don't the class may be frustrating, but it's not his fault. Quizzes and tests are easy.

Dr. Hanson was very interesting he showed us visual material on the lectures he even showed us his photos when he was in madagascar he made learning the social structure and social interaction of our societies interesting.

Took a full online course. VERY helpful. It was her first time doing an online course, she said. Very easy class, only required once a week posting and the tests were all open-book with no time limit. Class was confusing, but that was because the material is. If you need help, she'll be there to help you. Recommended.

Sociology is amazing. Dr. Hanson is so helpful and treats you as an adult. We have group discussions about almost everything and makes sure everyone understands before continuing. I have never had a better teacher in my college career. He generally cares about your well-being and always has time to talk about success in your other classes.

This instructor is very clear and I enjoyed Anthropology a lot! He gives good feedback and you will learn a lot in this course. No one really knows about this course but he is there for you and is very helpful, especially since its online! DEFIANTLY STUDENTS SHOULD TAKE HIM, HE IS AWESOME!!!!

One of the best professor's I've had so far. His lectures are interesting, understandable and humorous. He gives chapter quizzes almost every class, but they are only a question or two long and as long as you read the first few pages of the chapter you should be good. Practically writes your term paper for you. Midterm and final are the only tests.

Cultural Anthropology is the study of different cultures. You learn about the values and beliefs of various cultures, and how people live and interact. Prof. Hanson has a laid back approach, and delivers on the well-informed education he has attained. He applies a variety of methods to enhance understanding, while keeping the class interesting!

He showed a side of the city you don't learn in text books. The class was very real and eye opening. He listens to all points of view. Only giving feedback that will enhance your learning style. He doesn't try to change your stance on the issues. I'm so glad I took the class. It's an easy A since he makes you want to learn.

Professor Hanson provides the framework with which to learn about the history of the City of Cleveland as well as how the urban framework. It is a great class. I lived some of the history I read about. I got a better understanding from taking Professor Hanson's online class. If you are smart, you would take his class also! You WILL need the books!

This class was a requirement for my graduation, but I was pleased by how much I enjoyed it. The reading material was interesting and engaging. Also, Paul is a great about helping students understand the material, and gives helpful feedback in a short amount of time. I would suggest this class to friends in the future!

Through out the classes he provided great feedback on work and class standings, he did pop quiz's just to see who read the material and the encourage reading the material , but over all its hard to elunderatand what's going on without the material. And he is also willing to work with you if you are going through any difficulties.

Anthropology 1010 was specifically cultural anthropology. It's much different than people expect because anthropology doesn't necessarily mean archaeology.

Amazing professor! I took one of his online classes and it was very enjoyable. He is a teacher who really cares about his students. if you ask him questions, he will respond with exactly what he wants of you. Even if your major isn't anthropology, I highly recommend taking a class with him because you will learn a lot that you apply to other areas.

This is CULTURAL anthropology. Dr. Hanson sticks to the syllabus and you know exactly what you have to read for the next class. There will be VERY brief pop quizzes to see if you read the chapter. 3 short essays assigned to strengthen writing skills. The only tests were the midterm and the final. Cultural anthropology is a great class to learn more about both yourself and other peoples. You question your standard of what is normal and become familiar with cultures that once seemed a thousand miles away. Dr. Hanson guides you to think and reflect without leaving you out to dry, and genuinely cares for his students. It's an excellent course.

Dr. Hanson is a great professor! His teaching style is pretty straight forward. He has a quiz every other day, so make sure you read the material before coming to class. YOU have to do 3 essays over what is taught in class. He also encourage you to be involve in class such as doing group work and getting to know his students because he cares.

Anthropology is such an obscure subject. I don't think anybody really knew what it was all about when they signed up for the class, but Dr Hanson really made it come to life. He talks about different people and cultures in a way that makes you really care about them, not just stats on a page. Very highly recommended.

I Love Dr. Hanson! He's very knowledgeable, caring, passionate and experienced, but super funny and laid back. My favorite class this semester so it sucks it's only once a week but we get enough out of that 1 day. Hes not a tough grader but not lax either so do your best & participate. Decent amount of reading. If you like learning take his class!

Overall this class is amazing. The main discussions in the class usually stem from the reading in the text book. On the other hand we also have a lot of fun open discussions. You will definitely learn new material every class. You will need to be prepared every class by reading the assigned chapter because he does give easy quizzes. 10/10 take this

This is my second class I am taking with Dr. Hanson and he is amazing. Fascinating topics, the class is based on in-class group work and presentations. He makes you write essays. The final is a research paper plus a presentation. Dr. Hanson is always willing to help you with writing and doesn't mind giving his own time to help his students!

Paul started teaching culture using a flat ontology and by describing how everything we know as society, culture, rules/norms are all based in actions. And one can truly link all aspects of culture by using his model
