No textbook. You'll use his notes which are suprisingly well-written. Although challenging, he's excellent at explaining every step of every problem...he's very systematical. I learned a lot. He has a strong accent, but you'll get used to it after a couple of weeks.
The workbook of old test he gives you helps...but don't fool yourself. If you are not a math person, be ware...it is a very challenging course.

Great Professor!! Well organized course with Bel-Jean packets. Very helpful. Tests very fair. Has slight British accent, but not really a problem. I thought his accent and cool suits he wore everyday were amusing. Made Stat fun!!
Difficult material. However, He is an excellent teacher. I struggle in math yet got a B out of it. Mainly due to his teaching.
Never thought I would actually enjoy a math class. He knows what he is doing and teaches well. Course packets are nice. Old tests are VERY helpful. DO IT and you'll get A! Oh, and hot accent!

This is the only professor I know who rapes students of their money to such an extent. He makes $10 off each student for Hawkes which he himself always says is not like the tests and $10 of the course packets.
Bus. Statistics is not always the easiest or most interesting class, but I think Professor Holomes does an excellent job teaching the material. Go to class, do all the hw ON TIME [it's an easy 100 for 15% of your grade!], practice old exams... I would recommend taking him.
His class was very boring and just went over the test questions in the book. He provides good examples and his tests arent too bad if you study all the old ones he gives you online.
Prof Holmes is the man. He does an excellent job explaining the material and is always open to help you. The book examples are perfect practice, as well as the old tests he will post online. His tests are fair, but you still need to study a lot and know the material. If someone does bad in his class is because of lack of study time. Go to class too
Professor Holmes is excellent at explaining the material; the tests are tough because they are mostly conceptual. Curves at the end. Go Liverpool FC.
Prof Holmes' class is a waste of time. He just goes through the book which he wrote and continues to rip students off with. Do the homework because they add up to a test grade.
Going to class is not important. Homework has little to do with tests. Study for tests with past exams from book and especially previous semester exams from his website. Not an easy class. He packs you in like sardines for the tests. I learned to study the past exams and came out w/ an A-.
Holmes' class is miserably boring. His lectures come directly from the text book. Some people didn't have to go to class at all, but I went every once in a while because he does explain the tougher subjects pretty well. Homework is simple and an easy 20% of your grade. Just study the old tests and test problems in the book and it's an A.
Holmes's class is really boring, and he goes over powepoints and examples directly from the book (which he wrote fyi). Some of the material is complicated, so going to class does help you understand. I would recommend him, but be prepared to be bored out of your mind, and hear about Hawkes a million times during the semester.
SO BORING. But 20% of grade is easy hw, just do them. super easy. but the tests, you can get by on the first one by plug and chug formulas, but the other 2 use the old exams he gives! use them! he does trick questions where he'll change a word to make all the difference in the question and the old test will prepare you for that. do the old tests
Classes can be pretty boring depending on your interest in the class, but paying attention and taking notes can help you out big time. He wrote the book, but some additions are normally needed. Holmes publishes his old tests on the internet so that helps big time when studying for tests. Not easy, but he gives you everything you need to do well.
The lecture are a little boring but he will throw in a joke every now and then. The test are not that bad. especially the first one. Just review old test and do the homework (which is an easy20%). You don't have to go to class but it will help clarify things because he does a lot of examples and hints at tricky questions. "Can I get some responses"
The most boring class you will ever take at UGA. Textbook is pathetic, half the stuff he puts on the test isn't even in the textbook and even if it is the textbook is crap. There are no solutions to the answers in the textbook. Avoid this class if you can, take STAT 3000. On the plus side you don't ever have to turn up.
Very boring, but very easy. Possible to exempt the final. The homework can be extremely annoying. Do the past exams he posts and you will do well in this course.
This class....is so boring. If you go, make sure you bring crosswords or your computer to keep you awake. the material is really easy if you do the practice probs & work the past exams. can exempt the final if you make an A avg on all tests b4 it. easy class
Class is not necessary. Material can be learned by working the previous tests only. Dr. Holmes is really helpful but class is pretty boring.
Holmes is good, he's British which is kind of fun. The material is incredibly easy and I wouldn't say that the class is boring at all. My only qualm is that he's very wordy in his descriptions of things which really don't need so much explanation, and it caused me to get lost a time or two. But he's really helpful and nice, I would recommend him!
Great at explaining statistics concepts. Really good notes to print out before class to follow along. Tests are taken in lab time with a TA. Lots of homework, but it's pretty easy and your TA will help you if you have any questions. Holmes is very knowledgeable in the area and great at helping you understand.
He is so helpful and good at making more difficult concepts appear easy. He is always willing to help. I have never had a complaint about him. If you take the lab along side the class, it really helps you understand the concepts even more.
Holmes likes class participation but going to class is not required. I slept through an entire chapter & just studied the notes posted online and made 100 on that test. Plus @ the end of the semester some hw grades are dropped. You have 4 tests and 1 final but if you do well on the 4 tests you can opt out of the final. (which is what I did)
Professor Holmes is great. He explains things very well. All of his notes are online, but you have to go to class to get examples answered. They give you a formula sheet to use on homework and tests, and most of the harder problems can be done in StatCrunch. There's Open Lab too where TAs can help you with homework.
The class is so boring, but that's not Dr. Holmes' fault. He's a pretty good teacher, has an adorable accent, and the material is easy.
He was a decent teacher. Really nice and a cool accent. The stat2000 course is so computer focused that its hard for teachers to have their own personal spin on the course. So its hard to judge what kind of professor he was being that he didnt make the exam .
Is a wonderful teacher with a great ability to put things in a very understandable manner. He puts the notes online so you can write down your notes from class on those if you print them out.
i hate stat so this class is boring. as a teacher he's great. super nice and clear with what he's teaching. The lab classes are required and the TA i had is super cool. the final is optional but if you take it it replaces your lowest test grade even if the final is lower than that test. labs are really quick and take less than the 50min class time
He gives amazing notes and always posts them online, so you really never have to go to class. It's easy to get a good grade in this class. Everything that we have to turn in is done online so you know your grades right away.
This class is very easy. I went everyday because it helps me learn, but the slides are online if you don't want to go to class. Holmes is very approachable, and you can ask him questions even in a huge lecture hall. His lectures can be boring but he makes jokes and seems very nice.
Professor Holmes is very helpful in statistics - definitely recommend him! Attendance isn't mandatory but it helps if you go since he goes over everything in class. He has an english accent!
I felt pretty bad because Prof. Holmes tried really hard to encourage class participation, but everyone sat around texting or surfing facebook in his class, so only one or two people ever talked to him. He sounds like Wakko from the Animaniacs which is awesome. Easiest math class I've ever taken.
In this class, you have access to every professor's notes, but Holmes's are the best. Tests and homework are very easy. I stopped going to class because I got the material, but Holmes is great at answering questions and getting students to understand. Overall an extremely easy A if you dedicate 2-3 hours per week to the class, lecture or self-study
This class was extremely easy. You don't have to attend, only complete the online homework and go to lab, which only really takes about 25 minutes a week. Study a couple hours for each of the 4 tests and you'll get an A. Holmes tells you day one not to buy the textbook and does a really good job explaining everything.
i had to go to class for the sake of taking notes, but all the powerpoints are online and that was enough for most people. just do the homework and labs. they're pretty easy for the most part.
Holmes is a nice guy but the class is actually pretty hard as it gets later in the semester. it starts out easy. if you are good at math you're fine. tests are 80% of your grade so do well.
Holmes is a good teacher. Go to class and take notes and I swear you can easily receive an A. Material is easy, but you have to pay attention. Second half can get confusing if you stop going to class. It is easy to make a 100 on your labs and homework (20% of grade) and it will help boost your overall grade. He is a good professor.
Statistics is a relatively boring but easy A if you study for it. Go to class, do your online hw, and review before tests with study guides and hw. Holmes is very clear, open to students asking questions, and a great teacher.
Holmes, as a person, is interesting, funny, and British. As an instructor, he is not so interesting. Though, statistics is boring anyway, so that isn't in his favor. The tests in this class were hard, I thought, so going to class was mandatory for me. Lab and homework assignments (20%) were easy though.
MSIT 3000 with Holmes is a very simple class if you have a good background in math. Just go to class and do your best to pay attention. He tries to make it interesting, but statistics just isn't interesting. He is very clear about the material though, I never came out of class confused.
He does not care for his students. He will not help you if you ask, and will fail you in a second. Not very clear of a teacher. Avoid him
Easy teacher, takem him. Tests are pretty easy if you study.
Not the clearest teacher, especially if you haven't taken calc before, but overall a pretty reasonable class. If you go to class every day, you'll get 100% attendance credit and you'll need to study a lot less for tests. Not a bad class at all if you study. Holmes is a pretty awkward dude, though.
2 tests and a final. Homework due every Wednesday. Attendance is extra credit. He's not the most interesting and sometimes he confuses himself and says conflicting things. It's a pretty standard class & it would probably be hard if you've never taken calc before and are relying on him to teach you everything. The stat part is just more MSIT
I thought this class was incredibly easy. However, I had taken AP Calculus and a lot of it was repeat material. The class structure is straight-forward with extra credit for attendance. His teaching was clear and he was funny every once in a while.
Whatever you do, don't give up. This class is easy to pass as long as you do the homework (get a solid hw average) and show up for the tests with basic knowledge. I personally made the mistake of dropping this class and wasting tons of time. My second go through, I stuck it out and even with very limited understanding came out on top and graduated.
Definitely easier if you've taken Calculus. Holmes is a pretty standard prof, nothing special. Spend a ton of time doing and redoing homeworks and practice tests and you should be fine, I made B's on all the tests and still got an A in the class with all the other homework/case studies.
As someone who didn't have to take calculus in high school and someone that continues to be HORRIBLE at math, this class was actually so hard to me. I couldn't have done the homeworks without the help of a tutor, but also, the tests were unnecessarily hard. I did horrible on every single test though and still managed to pull out a C. Good luck!
If you've taken calculus and statistics before this class will be a breeze. I hadn't taken calculus so this class was hard, especially in the beginning. There are clicker questions every class and he drops your 4 lowest days. Only 2 tests and a final along with weekly webassign homework and 2 writing assignments which are super annoying and long.
He gives opportunity for extra credit by going to class. He does a good job of explaining things. I would advise you to attend every class. I wouldn't call the class hard, but to grasp the material well it takes diligence, especially for those who have not taken calculus in HS. In addition to extra credit my final grade was curved slightly.
For BUSN 4000 Holmes is def one of the 2 best teachers. of those I don't think it really matters who you take, but he is definitely a solid choice. Class isn't hard if you keep up with the material. Come to class for the clicker questions and study in advance of the exams and you'll be fine
I took this is an online summer course & just now writing the review. Biggest advantage with taking it in the summer is that there are no case studies. Class structure, difficulty, & material was similar to MSIT 3000, with the addition of some easy calculus. I think there were extra credit opportunities bc I didn't do well on tests and got an A-
Lectures are extremely boring, and attendance was not mandatory and counts as extra credit. There were 3 case studies that are annoying to do and take about 5-6 hours to do and you will probably get only get a high B or low A. Homeworks aren't too bad, just take time. Tests are a little hard, but if you study the homeworks they aren't bad
Pretty straight class. Not as hard as people say. Hardest part for me was the calculous section. Do homework and practices tests to be well prepared and you should be fine. Also do every part of case studies on time!
This has to be the most rude professor I've had on campus. Took him because his reviews were good. Class is straight forward. Practice tests ARE NOT proper prep for the real test. I went to office hours to ask why and how to better prepare for tests. He brushed me off and asked me to leave. There's a reason why he's taught at so many universities!
No electronics in his class. Very straight forward in my opinion especially if you have taken calculus or statistics before. I think the practice test prepare you well and I would recommend him. He can be a little "short" with people so I am not sure I would take him if you struggle with math.
Wish I would have taken any other professor. Holmes is not a very good teacher and wont answer questions after class. He says to meet with him during office hours but his hours are minimal. This class is straight up hard. Im not good at math but I got a B+ in accounting and finance and im barely getting a C in here. will call u out for phones/tech
This class is an excel heavy class, with fairly challenging material, and Holmes does not allow computers in class. Makes no sense, just because some will abuse this doesn't mean he needs to treat it like high school. Exams are reasonable, but not similar to test reviews. Case studies are peer graded, which has been dangerous. Take anyone else.
Class is basically "hard mode" version of MSIT 3000. It has calculus portion and stats portion which excels heavy. For the calc, it basically covers differentiation and limits (no trig derivatives). The stat portion is using excel. It would be recommended to actually go to class as he gives 3 bonus points to your final grade.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE! This class is the hardest class I have ever taken in Terry. It is extremely easy to get far behind in this class, mostly because the prep for exams he posts are just the power-points and him talking. Most of it isn't helpful and each chapter probably has numerous 30-60 minute videos. Ridiculous!
Holmes was a decent prof. The first part was calc and i am not great at it, but if you do the homeworks and the practice test you can survive. The stat was an extension of MSIT and the test was similar to the homeworks. Do ALL the homeworks and go to class and you get 4 bonus points. Case studies will take time if you want to do well on them.
don't take Holmes!! he yells about electronics taking up so much of class time and is not the best professor for how hard the material can be.
This man has no right of teaching. He takes nothing into consideration. Not even a pandemic.
He does not care about the students at all whatsoever, not even in extreme circumstances during this pandemic, tornado, and legitimate difficulties transitioning online that we did NOT sign up for. Worst professor-may actually be worse than Farmer. He should not be teaching at UGA and is a disgrace to Terry College of Business.
I took BUSN 4000 online and it's probably the hardest thing I've ever done. Prof. Holmes assigns 30ish minute videos to help with 2-5 questions of the homework each. So all in all, it's about 3-5 hours of video per homework assignment, and most of the time, the videos don't even help. Stay away.
Prof Holmes is arrogant and does not care about anyone or anything as it is none of his concern. He has the gall to give a 55 percent weighted final. Avoid at all costs.
A good alternative to taking BUSN 4000 if you prefer online learning. The lectures are pretty slow; I started watching them on 2x speed as the semester progressed. Tests are worth 70% of your grade and homework is the other 30%. 4 points of bonus available. Definitely not a "fun" class, but likely the most digestible version of BUSN 4000 for some.
Dr. Holmes is okay, the class itself is just extremely boring. He teaches the material very straight forward, but can be monotoned. He kinda sounds like Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. Nice guy and posts all lecture material. Tests are on WebAssign so take that as you will.
This class is very hard but just because of the tests. I got a 52 on the first one (calc centered) somehow but got a 5 on AP Calc BC in high school, so it's kinda annoying. Also had to pay an absurd amount to pay for the proctoring service to take tests. Take in-class and actually go to class if you want an A.
I was doing well in the class until the final. The final was literally like nothing else that we have ever done in the class and was easily one of the hardest test i've ever taken. I went from a 98 in the class to an 87 because of how awful it was.
I'm gonna be honest I didn't really go to class but I still got an A. The second half of the class is really hard and the weekly homework literally takes 10+ hours, but thats how it is with any of the BUSN 4000 professors. It doesn't really matter who you take.
The class itself wasnt awful, basically taking MSIT 3000 and adding calculus to it. Holmes was very monotone, and after we had to go online for corona, we had to watch up to 10 videos per unit/week that were between 20-90 minutes long. Also for the 2nd half of the class, the homework took at least 8 hrs to do. Not the worst, but could be better.
Dr. Holmes is a solid choice for this class. The class itself is difficult but his videos are very useful for learning the material. The exams are heavily weighed, but there are two different grade schemes depending on which exam you do better on. He offers multiple extra credit opportunities and is very easy to get in touch with if you need help.
This class is just awful now that it's online cuz of rona. i'm guessing it will stay that way for some time so get uesd to it. I would ditch the class and use Skoolers. Extremely helpful. The HW's are just ridiculous. Each one took me like 10 hours (not an exaggeration). Good luck.
I usually never give reviews, but this online class due to rona irked me. The lectures are hours long, and they don't really help with the homework, I used the TA'S videos to get the homework done. There are only two tests including the final, and it's cumulative. This class is in no way set up to help you learn. Get skoolers.
I am just going to go ahead tell you to get the Skooler's semester packet for this class. Holmes is a solid choice out of the professors but as busy college students in hard classes we can't spend all hours working on one class which is what will happen. Skoolers will help you learn quicker, short cuts and tips, and walk through the HWs.
Holmes is a good professor, but I did not enjoy this class asynchronously. I found it helpful to do the homework alongside the lecture videos. The TA's do homework videos, which was also helpful. I was fine doing everything kind of last minute, but a lot of people also used Skoolers. He did curve our exams. Reworking HW was the best practice IMO.
I'd have more luck learning math from a toddler than Holmes. Having 11 problem homework assignments where each "problem" has 10 different parts to solve is ludicrous. I spent more time doing homework in this class over the summer than I did between all 5 classes during spring. No one will be hiring me for my Statistics knowledge, that's for sure.
Maybe it was the whole online over the summer format but this class is so frickin burdensome! The HW takes forever and is just too much to handle. The skoolers reviews are indispensable and help you tackle the HW quicker but it will still take you so so so long. Also the class ramps up considerably after the first test!
Professor Holmes really cares about his students and gives them everything they need to succeed. Having prior knowledge of calc and stat helps, but he does a really good job of breaking down the concepts. There is lots of homework and they take a while but with all the resources, it's manageable. One of the easiest classes I've taken in Terry.
By far the worst professor I have ever taken in college. Not to mention this class is designed to be a weed-out class for students entering Terry. The homework will take you hours and the lectures do not help you complete the homework whatsoever. Beware of exams in this class they are nothing like the practice exams he posts.
Holmes is one of the worst professors here at UGA, steer clear from this class if you want to keep a quality gpa. very difficult exams and homework that will take you hours to complete. Lectures will not help you complete the homework.
If you put the work in, this class is fairly easy. His lectures are extremely slow and easy to dose off on, but other than that I don't find it difficult at all. Homeworks are super long, but help you prepare for the exams better so it is what it is
Take Dr. Holmes!!! He posts the lectures, but I recommend going to class to ask any questions you have. I had no experience with calculus but he explained it so well that it made it easy. I also recommend taking this class after 3000 so you don't forget the stat part though. He also DOESN'T cold call, so do w/ that as you will. :)
Holmes is a nice guy, but I regret taking him. His lectures were extremely boring and his teaching style was awful for my learning style. It is hard to prepare and study for the exams, especially if you are like me and didn't get Skoolers. I went to every class, paid attention, got tutored, and STILL made a C. My advice is to get Skoolers and pray.
I mean, it's a calculus class, and it's going to be very heavy on math. If you're good at math then this is a breeze, if not ... well anyways, he's a good professor and gives lots of extra credit. HWs are super long and I do them alongside rewatching the lecture videos bc the in-person lectures can be a bit monotone.
Holmes posts good lectures that make sense, but the homework is WAY too much. It takes about 4 hours to complete a 10 question homework because there are so many parts to one question. The lectures are a total of 1.5 - 2 hours long. Doing this class while working 40 hour weeks is just not very doable. The test reviews were also not like the tests.
Do not take this class online. Homework is time consuming and difficult. Online lectures are too surface level for the challenging homework. His ELC page has no other resources outside of lecture videos. Homework has limited attempts and doesn't show what you missed. Doesn't even post homework answers after they're due. Buy schoolers.
His lectures are honestly pretty boring but the fact that he offers 7% of extra credit... well, that can be huge for your grade in this class. Not a lot of people show up to his lectures and it shows on exams, as he has lower average scores than Carlyle, but if you go to class and engage with the material then this class is pretty easy.
Took this online, but should've gotten skoolers for the start with Webassign homework. I understood all the material but would waste 8+ hours on lectures and weekly homework to fit Webassign's format.
He is great in and out of class. The homework will take hours after the calc units. The tests are very few questions, so you cannot overestimate your understanding of the material. Take all the extra credit he offers, it will save you in the end I swear. This is a class you will have to study for, but it's not impossible
pay attention during the lectures and you'll be fine, exactly like busn 3000 with some extra content
I thought Holmes was great. He explains concepts well and the tests are very straightforward. I found skoolers test reviews helpful for extra practice but definitely not necessary to succeed in his class. Also offers a lot of extra credit if you participate.
Weird class. 1st half all calculus then abruptly switches to statistics with no clear reason. Holmes is nice and does a lot of extra credit if u go to class. Skoolers makes the class super manageable too but prob not necessary
This class is by no means easy, but everyone w/ other profs seem to be struggling a lot worse. He offers a ton of extra credit and is always willing to help both during class and out of it. He also posts his lectures online but participation is a part of the grade. He does pop quizzes sometimes at the end of class but they go towards participation.
Professor Holmes is a really great professor. He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He takes the time to make sure we understand everything before moving on. The homeworks can be extensive, so don't wait until last minute. The tests aren't too bad, but you need to study! Would reccommend.
If you are not good at self teaching you will struggle in this class, he does not explain anything well during lectures
Holmes is like a climb up a treacherous mountain. If you don't make it to the top, you are weak and soft. How many derivatives are now lodged in my brain? A lot. Do I ever want to calculate elasticity of demand ever again in my life? Absolutely not. But I made it. Holmes' absolute blizzard of derivatives calloused my mind and hardened my heart.
Holmes is one of the best lecturers in Terry so go to class, because the material isn't fun to teach yourself. Homeworks are absurdly large, but the material isn't too hard and the tests are quite easy. Extra credit can turn a B+ into an A
This course is purposely made difficult, so I highly recommend getting Skoolers. I went to class everyday but still did terrible on the first exam. After that I got Skoolers never went to class again and did good on both the final/second exam. The homework will take you hours/ days. If you rely on this professor you will not do well get Skoolers.
Honestly its better to just learn this class on your own, going to class wont really help unless youve never taken calc or stat. For tests focus on the knowing the homeworks which are pretty long and not the slides not that useful. You will see problems like the slides only on the final which is cumulative. Mandatory final is not hard all MC.
Lecture slides are a bit dry, but Professor Holmes makes up for it with tons of extra credit. Skoolers test prep and Unstuck study are great study resources to ace the exams.
Homework is insanely long, even if I begin days prior. Tests are hard, almost everyone in my class did terribly on the first exam. I reached out to him for help he was vague and didn't seem to care much. Im not a math person and I forgot almost all the pre-cal I know so im struggling a lot.
Long, time-consuming HW assignments. He states in his syllabus that there are no make-up tests under any circumstances (even in case of a family member's death). The weight of the missed test is added to your mandatory final (or if something happens where you miss the final, you have to take it in a different semester). Nothing short of evil.
Good teacher, engaging. Gives extra credit (up to 3% depending on participation) so doable A.
Holmes was the best professor I had this semester. Ignore the bad reviews. The material is organized and structured well, and he breaks down each topic and explains it in the easiest possible terms. I believe he could teach this class to a sixth grader if he wanted to and they would receive an A. Go to class and take notes. Do not skip class.
He is a really nice and sweet professor! Don't listen to the negative reviews. He provides a lot of resources to study for the exam, like the online lectures videos. I don't really recommend skoolers, got it for the first exam, got an 80, and did not buy it for the second exam got a 100. Definitely a double class. HWs are very long.
I really liked Holmes, he was very passionate in class and offered extra credit for showing up. The reviews about the homework are true, they are brutal, but if you use chat and copilot you can get extra credit for doing them early. Use the videos he posts instead of skoolers - free and the same content. Tests are hard, not a reflection of him.
He was an incredibly nice guy. Also, I thought he taught the material in a very easy and consumable way. If you are taking BUSN4000, I couldn't recommend him any more. The tests aren't bad if you study and at least try on the homework. Along with that, he provides plenty of extra credit.
Very nice and caring professor. He made the lectures very understandable. The tests aren't too bad if you study, and as long as you try on the homework, it's not too bad. Lots of extra credit opportunities. I got skoolers, but it's definitely not necessary to do well
He was alright but I mostly learned from the TA. The one time I reached out to him to help me was a homework problem he said that the explanation on WebAssign is as clear as it gets (showed how to get solution on calculator but only gave right answer on excel). If he's your only option, you'll be fine.
This class was pretty easy in my opinion! I was nervous about using ProctorU for exams but it ended up being really easy to navigate and I didn't run into many issues. The homework is through webassign and there is a few assignments each week. Grading is explained well
For a class based on math and numbers, he makes his lectures unnecessarily wordy. Personally, it was very difficult to clearly understand what was going on for the stat portion of the class since his lectures were just so wordy and hard to follow. Homework isn't as bad as people say. Overall, he's a kind professor and provides extra credit.
Not the most exciting class, but doable. Go to class, take notes on paper, and do not cheat on the homework, or nothing will make sense come testing time. Solid professor, chill guy
I highly recommend taking any other BUSN teacher besides this guy. He was very rude and not easily accessible for office hours. He loved to rely on his TA for questions which I didn't think was very fair, and is also just a mean person in general. Easy class, just don't take this guy at all. He will make your life way worse I promise.
Professor Holmes was a great teacher. The class overall wasn't too bad if you paid attention and did the homework. I wouldn't recommend cheating on the HW bc it will screw you over for the test. He also posts homework videos, lecture slides/videos, and test reviews, which were really helpful. If you're willing to put the work in, I'd recommend.
great prof, great guy. lectures are easy to follow, and they are posted online. homeworks are a drag and take so long, but complete 48hrs before deadline and you get extra credit. exams are based on webassign so practice on there. final exam is on PAPER for some reason but tbh its not that bad. attendance optional but you get extra credit.
Tedious & time consuming course. Do not take in summer if you have other classes, a job, or other outside matters that will significantly take up your time while taking this course simultaneously. There is no sympathy for circumstances. Also, I found material on ProctorU exams to be harder than HW. Run away, honestly.
