Dr. Jasien was a great professor to have for my first science course in college its a flipped class so make to sure to not fall behind and go to his office hours if you are stuck he is happy to help and really wants to see his students succeed. But he makes you work for it so put in the time and you should be fine. Study the past exams!

Dr. Jasien is an excellent professor! Yes he was a tough professor. He has a "flipped class" format and some people don't like it, but I loved it! It made the class more interactive. Some complained about how he doesn't teach & they have to learn at home to understand the activities in class, but learning on your own's a big part of college.

He really cares about your success. He appears to be scary at first but if you show true passion and commitment and attend office hours you will understand he is not. You answer iclicker questions that are very useful and do pages from a workbook. I feel like I understand chemistry thanks to him. I would recommend him and I would take again.

Jaisen was honestly a very unreasonable prof. he grades very harsh and puts you down if there's something you don't understand. He has powerpoints online but if you don't understand the topic you're at loss. He is very rude; he acts like we should know this material already but lacks in actually dedicating a moment of his time to help his students.

all of his lectures are onlin so if you do not learn well that way DO NOT TAKE HIM! Chem 150 is a difficult class for some and easy for others, also never posts practice exam solutions which is very frustrating when you want to study for exams. but he is nice to students he likes also.... Dr. Jasien expects his students to master the matieral right away. Lectures are at home online which cause for a lot of difficulty understanding. He has you answer questions on a clicker device all class, ive learned nothing. His exams are extremely hard and he does all he can to make them as difficult as possible with no exam study key. So hard.

He is the most condescending professor Ive ever had. Ask questions in activity not lecture. The Stem center barely helps and he only gives answers to study guides in office hours. He hardly lectures on his 5 minute ppts and a 5 min review in class so get ready to watch YouTube. When I reached out he helped me but talked down to me in the process.

He is not a good teacher at all, he goes through lectures fast and doesn't explain very well, expects you to understand what he is saying in his 30 min lecture, and then has a mini quiz at the end of the lectures, seeing if you understand the material that was JUST given to you. Daily assignment almost every day, Need to teach yourself to pass.

Professor Paul Jaisen is a hard professor but if you work hard, you can still be success. It's true that you have to be prepare before class and almost self learn every materials, but as long as you give out the time and effort, you will receive what you aim to.

SAVE YOURSELF!!! Prof. Jasien is about far the worst professor, if chem isn't a strong subject for you do not take his class you will fail, not due to your part but do to the part that this professor DOES NO TEACH! He expects you to know everything and learn off of his 5 min. lecture vids. Also he sighs every time a student askes a question.

This man is by far the WORST professor I've ever had. He's rude, makes you feel stupid when you ask questions, doesn't grade fairly, is not at all realistic w/ his expectations for the class, and didn't make any of us feel like he cared about our success in his class. I could say so much more but bottom line: AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS!!!

He doesnt require a textbook but you need a workbook that he wrote. There are practice exams in the workbook which actually reflect whats going to be on the exam. Theres also lots of opportunities for extra credit but doesnt doesnt label them like that. I took the class online so the polling questions counted towards in class points.

If you love the idea of paying a ton of money in tuition to teach yourself everything and be talked down on for asking questions, this class is for you. Expects you to learn EVERYTHING off his lecture videos online. There's almost no point of even going to class except you're forced to answer dumb iclicker questions that he never explains. Do not bother asking questions. If you don't know something, you're gonna have to prepare to be belittled by him. He will belittle all of you unprovoked as well.

This class was honestly the worst I have ever done in school. The lectures are short and dont really carry much examples. I was reeled into staying in the class at the beginning of the lecture because he talked about how he would start from the basics and from the beginning as if youve never taken chem before but then that changed really fast.

I understand some of the negative things being said, but overall I had a great experience with Professor Jasien. The I-clicker questions were a helpful way to see what I understood, and what I needed to study more. The exams are worth a lot of points but there are practice exams that you can take, and they are really similar to the real tests.

By far the worst professor I've ever had. No point in even showing up to class, since everything you're "taught," you teach yourself, outside of class. As far as testing goes, a "tough grader" is an understatement. He will nitpick and give you the worst grade possible, guaranteed. Also the only professor I've seen brag about their failing rates.

The clicker questions that were provided by the professor were somewhat helpful, but only to a certain extent because he did not provide an answer key to go with it. I do understand that the class's structure is heavily reliant on in-person participation, however, an answer key would've been convenient. I wish the professor had been kinder.

One of the worst classes I have taken. He is harsh and lacks compassion for his students. Usually, he was rude and negative. He is smart but struggles to teach effectively (glosses over material). Office hours were helpful, but he was passive-aggressive. Tests are hard and weigh the most. Somehow after doing all the work, I still felt unprepared.

Physical chemistry in general is a very difficult course. The textbook is hard to find and he is very passive aggressive. Homework doesn't match the lecture nor the exam even though he provides previous exams for practice. His method for teaching is very vague, this course has a high failure rate since only him and one other professor teaches it.
