He is the best teacher ever!! and he is so funny!!
Likes to tell stories more than he likes to teach. A very nice man, but for an education teacher, there should be more actual teaching.
Lectures are disorganized, and usually turned into stories about his childhood or the Bahai faith. He certainly was not a good example of a teacher, but is a very nice man.
Funny guy, always telling stories and stuff, like the one about how his dad swam across the river and stuff like that. I definitly wouldnt want him for a class where i would have to learn something
Easiest teacher I have ever had...his tests are the same as the study guides he gives you...do the study guides and you'll get an easy A.
Wonderful person-instead of complaining about the stories-listen closely-you WILL learn from this man's insight. TAKE FOR SUMMER COURSE.
How about bringing some more actual material into your class. Stop telling your life story. His experience is great, but he doesn't cover anything relevant in class.
try teaching sometime.
He doesn't teach. He gives speeches on topics totally unrealted to the subject matter; he repeats his little stories; he randomly starts singing in class; he's never in his office. I want an education teacher who knows how to teach. Please. Anyone.
All exams are copied and pasted from the study guide. You only need to read the book for the study guides. Nice guy, sometimes hard to understand. Class is boring, just bring other hw or a pillow. Easy Social Forces gen ed.
very friendly and likes to talk about his life stories, but they are interesting and you can learn a lot from it, although it's not on the test.Tests are copied right from the S.G.s and he never teaches that in class but you can always get it from someone
Not hard to get an A in ETE 115. Spends more time off topic than on, but entertaining. Tests mirror study guide, but stay after class when he answers ?'s about SG, b/c sometimes inaccuracies between SG and book but never between SG and test.
He's hard to understand. His accent makes class a dull. However the work load is little and easy. So it's a tossup.
Tells TONS of stories, but most of them don't relate to material AT ALL, even if they are interesting. He knows everything about every place in the world, but doesn't teach much at all. Tells us to read the wrong chapters, but he's still a great guy.
Dr. Kasambira is a very gentle individual. He seems to be well-rounded, and has a lot of stories to share. The class was about diversity, and he was a great example of it. Don't hate just because he isn't white.

Great guy. Expects that you read and work in his class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
smart, funny, understanding, tests are not difficult
easy class to get an A. just do the study guide and make sure your answers match up with his b/c sometimes the answers in the book don't match up with his answers. bring hw to do in his class so you don't have to sit there and watch him sing.
He has the best study guides.
Really great teacher if your looking for an easy A. He's a fun guy but the classes can get a little long so bring some other work to do or do your readings. Best study guides.
This guy is an amazing man, but not too good of a teacher. He talks about everything but the subject material. I loved him anyways. He gives you a study guide a week before the test, and the test is an exact copy of the study guide. Easy A
Very kind, wonderful man. Always willing to help, very learned, well-rounded, and generous. His class is never boring, always fun, informative, and exciting. Wish all professors were more like him.
He's really interesting but im not in the mood to listen to him talk about whatever he pleases at 8 am
He is so nice! He is pretty dry, teaching wise, but he is very easy and tries to get the class involved.
Dr. Kasambira is a wonderful man who loves teaching. He will inspire you to teach and feel good about your major, but I didn't learn much in the class.
Very nice man. He is fun to talk to and very funny. However, he often strays from the material and you'll end up spending most of the class listening to stories. The class is extremely easy and all test questions come from the study guide.
Yes, he's very nice and a great storyteller--- but he doesn't actually teach you anything. His classes are a complete waste of time. The study guides are also decieving-- it seems he has problems telling the right answers from wrong ones.
Nice guy but didn't learn anything!!! What a complete waste of time! I wish I would have learned about education and not used his class as a study hall. Also, his study guides are very misleading. I want to take 115 again just to learn the material!
Before every test he gives you a review packet with 105-165 problems. There are 100 multiple choice questions on the test taken exactly from the review packet. Sometimes his answers dont make sense. Do the review and memorize it for an A.
Ok, so he is super nice but doesn't teach you anything! If all you want is to pass, memorize the whole study guide... all of the qusetions are word for word and the answers are even the same letter. Funny guy and you learn life skills in this class.
It's an extremely easy class. Tests come, word for word, off the study guide. Even though you don't learn a whole lot from the lectures, by figuring out the study guide you learn all you need to know and more.
This class is overwhelmingly easy. The study guides he gives are exaxct replicas of the tests, same questions and everything. However it is VERY boring so be prepared!
what an easy class. you dont even have to go, except on the days he hands out study guides :) and he smells good, that's a plus..he also sings for ya!
easiest class ever, went about 30% of the time got a B he pretends to be a great teacher but he sucks at it, 2 friends in the same class turned in the same paper word for word, he gave 1 a B and the other an A and didnt notice he read the same paper twice
Great guy, easy class. People become disillusioned, but if you look at the class description, this is what you are suppposed to learn. Great guy to talk to, and cares about his students.
went about 5 times.....got an A...you don't even have to go on the days he gives the study guides because they're the same every semester....just come for the 4 tests....
what a great class. never go and still get As. now THAT'S an amazing class!
He's the best professor I've ever had. I'll bet on anything that no one will ever top him. His experience and sense of humor gets the whole class laughing. He's an amazing guy.
He's really interesting to listen to, but his lecture is completely useless in an academic sense. You get four study guides which are EXACTLY the exams. There are no other grades, literally. TAKE THIS CLASS, if you need the requirement! TAKE IT!
The lectures are boring but he is AMAZING!!!!
Nice guy, but lectures are totally pointlees. Study guides are the test, so its very easy. If you can get someone else to go to class for you do it. He tells stories that although some are interesting are usually not related to class in any way. Not bad overall though.
This class is extremely easy! His tests are just a copy of the study guide and he always tells really funny and interesting stories, even if they're off topic. I had to take this for education but even if you're not education, take it for gen ed!
As long as you memorize the study guides you'll be fine because those are his tests. He is really nice and always has some interesting story to tell even though it will have nothing to do with the class. Take this as a GEN ED it will be the easiest class you've had!!!
EASIEST CLASS EVER! Take this class if you wnaa get rid of a gen ed and get an easy A. Possibly the easiest class you will ever take in college. Boring and you will sleep through it, but you can skip all the classes accept the ones when you ge the study guides and take the tests.
Easy.
He is awesome and very intereasting atleast his life is. Class is boring but very easy.
Kasambira does not teach. He should not even be on this site because he is not really a teacher. The class is easy but he is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life.
This is not a college level class. It is a nice break in a schedule!
easiest class ever....i went less than 10 times all semester and got an a...he says he takes attendence but he doesn't...sooo easy!

I saw absolutely no point in going to his class. Most of the time, he talked about stuff not in the book. This class didn't challenge me at all.
he's amusing but the class is just boring. you just sit there!
Oh my gosh! I love this class! We never really learn any helpful course information but the anecdotes that we hear in class are funny! Plus his class is really easy and interesting! Highly recommended!
Dr. Kasambira truly cares about his students, an amazing man with wonderful stories. One of the best teachers I've ever had!
Love the class...he is pretty funny...didn't really teach from a book...
He is the easiest teacher at Bradley....u dont have to go to class execpt on test days....he gives u all the answers to the test 2!!!Dont even buy the book b cuz u dont need it!! So if u want an super easy A...take kasambira!!!
This is not a class it is a gift! Easiest A ever! If you have a good memory your grade is A. He gives you a study guide with all the answers and copies the questions word for word answer for answer onto the test. No homework, never have to go to class.
Pretty much the best professor I've ever had. He's an amazing person with experiences most people never have. As everyone else says, his class is easy because he gives you the answer right on the study guide. The study guide questions almost completely match the test questions. It's an easy A, and you'll walk out of there with a smile.
If you want to listen to a guy talk about his experiences in Africa for three hours a week, take this class!
This class is very easy. He gives study guides for the exams that have twice as many questions as the test will, and the test questions are right off the study guide. (i.e. 200 question SG, 100 question test.) All memorization, don't buy the book, easy as hell.
Like everyone else has said, his class is so easy! If you do go to class, he tends to go off on LONG tangents about absolutely nothing relevant to the class...but it's entertaining
Should not be considered a teacher! Don't go to class unless he is passing out a study guide or giving the answers. I've never heard him say anything that was on a test. Just memorize the answers.
awesome! very nice and helpful. genuinely cares about his students. tells very entertaining stories. he gives you the test and the answers...just memorize. but class is really interesting because he has a different story for every possible topic. take him if you have a heavy class load or if you just want to have an intersting class.
This is the easiest class in the world and I would recommend anyone who needs a Gen Ed. requirement to take this. You don't ever have to go to class except for when he is giving out the study guides or the answeres - tests are just memorizing those study guides, literally, word for word. He's a nice uy but he talks about Africa constantly.
AWFUL..doesn't help, almost couldnt graduate on time.
Class is pointless! inconsistent on taking attendance, but says there is a correlation between attendance and grades,BULL.If you don't memorize the study guide you will fail bc you have 50 min for 100 ?s and most of them are long. Does not teach you anything.I suggest brining headphones so you can tune him out and read the book.
he talks about himself, and a little bit about public schools. He gives you the answer to the study guides, just memorize it, not that big of a deal, as long as you do that you get an A, but he is extremly unorganized! lost one of my test, didnt know, got an F, took forever to correct my grade, and then said it was my fault it wasnt marked down ASS
The people who are complaining about this class are just plain LAZY! Just memorize the study guide, get the answers for the guide from old tests. I use tests that are three years old and the questions are the same. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! Only go to class to get the study guide. Simple as that. No A = you are and idiot.
incredible inspirational lectures, very entertaining, i loved coming to class. near the end of the semester, you can tell he has run out of ammo though. i learned so much from him even though most of it was not about education. claims attendance is mandatory but it isn't and will not hurt your grade! memorize the study guide and you will do great.
I took this class only because I heard he gives you the answers. This year he doesn't give the answers. I don't have time to look through the 200 question study guide which is rearranged from the old one. The questions and text is poorly written and misleading. If you are not liberal you will just be irritated in class discussions.
Such an interesting teacher, i loved listening to his lectures!!! They kinda correlated to the textbook, but it was more of listening to interesting stories!! I loved him, Waking up that early actually made me pumped, bc he always put you in a good mood for the day!!!
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. HE USED TO BE COOL BUT NOW HE IS A TOTAL BORING JERK. NO ANSWERS, 200 QUESTION STUDY GUIDES THAT SUCK AND MAKE NO SENSE. TERRIBLE CLASS, HE SHOULD BE FIRED.
Don't take him. I found the lectures liberal, boring, and unrelated to anything in the class. The text deserves to be burned. If you want to hear 50-minutes of nothing 3 times a week and you enjoy bashing of the political right, go for it. waste of tuition. one thing worse than struggling to get into classes here, is getting ones like these
Dr. K is really nice. I love his stories, the only thing is, he never teaches what is on the test. You didn't use to have to go to class, but now he takes attendance every time. He also doesn't give the answers anymore, so find someone with an old study guide, and memorize the answers, they are exactly the same on the test.
Lectures had absolutely nothing to do with what was in the book. Had to repeatedly go in after each test because they had been scanned inaccurately. After reviewing each test and showing him the ones that needed to be corrected he blamed his graduate assistant. I dislike having to go back and re-grade each of my tests.
His lectures have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the tests!!! Found that the scanned tests are usually scanned wrong and had to go back in to re-grade them! The grade was substantially higher than the grade originally given. Always blamed graduate assistant even when G.A. stood there!!
GREAT!
EASY!!!! That's all i have to say...
Dr. K is a really great guy. The class can be really boring at times. I went to every class and even if I didn't learn something about education, I always left having learned something new about life. This is an easy class, take it if you can. Everyone should have him at least once :) He gives you a study guide that has all of the answers 4 the test
This is such an easy gen-ed and a guaranteed A. Dr. Kasambira is such a nice man and though he does not lecture about the material at all, he does tell some interesting stories and insights on life. You do not have to come to class. He gives a study guide before the test which you have to get the answers to and study. But it is sometimes boring.
I was told that I absolutely needed to take his class because of the stories, and yes, they're interesting, but they take the place of teaching. He puts up a powerpoint with bulletpoints about the chapter, tells interesting stories about his childhood, while the ppt becomes a screensaver. NOT a blow off class. Lots of independent work.
The easiest class I have ever taken in my lie. If you can find the old exams, which are always floating around, the class is a breeze.
Great guy, easy class, easy tests, chapter test final with study guides. Must take class.
He only gives three tests with extremely strenuous study guides--do them, btw! If you blow off the first one, you will NOT get an A just because your grade is only determined by three grades. 3rd floor of library has study guide answers. Kasambira never talks about the subject. Sleep, bring headphones to lecture.
Complete waste of time. Teaches absolutely nothing important. I've taught for the last 5 years, and not a single thing of Dr. K has ever been used. Grades on whims and provides no real feedback.
He is the best prof ever. You aren't going to learn alot about education in this class. You're going to get amazing life lessons. Go to class. Tests are easy. It's an easy A and you get to meet a great guy, what could be better?
Dr. K is awesome! He's extremely funny, and you can tell he is very knowledgeable in his field. The class is one of the easiest I've ever had, as he gives you the test questions in advance. Counts as a gen ed even if you're not an education major, so it's a great way to boost your gpa
If you thought this professor was "fun," "great," or "awesome," you should be at a community college. Bradley should be ashamed of hiring someone like this.
He's a nice guy, but he kinda rambles about stuff that has no real relevance. No need to take notes or read the book, just memorize the study guides bc the tests are verbatim!! The class period is a waste of time, but he does take attendance... super easy A, and this counts for a SF gen ed. I would recommend it.
Don't be deceived by the generous comments: this class is a joke. If one truly learned SO much in this class and from this teacher, there is something wrong. NOTHING that he talks about is pertinent to the material, he CONSTANTLY is going off on tangents, and every time that I left the class I felt a little bit dumber. Take if you want an easy "A".
Okay! By far the easiest class you will ever take is ETE 115. Why? Because he grades on 4 tests thats it and the answers to the test are on the study guides that you can get on the 3rd floor of the library. so if you only show up on the 4 test days with the answers to the tests tell me how you could possibly fail? take the class with him.
Dr. K is a very nice man. I generally like him as a person. He is however, the last professor you want if you intend to actually learn about education. Every lecture ends in a tangent about racism, or something from his past it seems. Take this if you're in it for the Gen ED. If you want to learn about education, find somebody else.
Easy class. You never have to show up. Just get the study guides from the library because the study guide legitimately IS the test.
This class is a joke. Only went on test days, and the night before the test found the study guide and memorized the answers. Got 100% on every test. Final not accumulative. VERY EASY TO PASS
It's easy to get an A if your taking if for the Gen Ed. He takes attendance, so bring a computer and surf the net, because his lectures don't pertain to the material at all. I didn't even buy the book (you don't use it). Just find an old study guide ( somebody will have one) and just memorize it for the 3 tests. If you can memorize, you'll do fine.
Lots of people I noticed rate Dr. Kasambira poorly due to his tendency to stray from the text book and their general unwillingness to pay attention to his discussion. However if you were to actually pay attention to him you would realize that his stories are all very pertinent to the entire point of his courses. (Trust me I know them all)
You can't avoid him. Just use the study guides. Class is boring, just go on test days.
Dr. K is easily one of the coolest teachers at Bradley. The class consists of tests of which he has used for years, plus he gives you study guides which are the same questions on the test. Attendance is "mandatory", but most people just show up on test days. But I went to hear his cool stories. He has a lot of them! He's a very nice and good man!
He is one of the worst professors I've ever had, definitely the worst in the education department. If you take this class, just go to the library and study the past tests. You'll get an A, and learn nothing.
He has a thick accent, but you get used to it after about a week. He has awesome stories and he sings in class every once in a while. The only reason I went to class was to hear his stories. All of the tests are in the library, so memorizing the answers for tests is easy. It's a gen ed for most majors, so a lot of people have to take the class.
Pretty attractive guy. Easy on the eyes. No but seriously, this is class pretty easy and boring.
I learned a lot of life skills from this professor. He is by far one of the most interesting men I have ever met in my life and I think he makes a huge positive impact on students. I really enjoyed him and am planning on taking him again for ETE 280. ETE 115 as an extremely easy class, but I really liked being in that class.
Memorize the study guides, they are the tests. All the answers to the study guides are in the learning center on the 3 floor of the library. The one paper? not for a grade. I didn't write it, and nothing happened. You don't have to pay attention, and you don't need the book.
HE IS THE BEST!!
EASSSSYYYYYY, didnt show up to class but when i did, it was really interesting because Kasambira is the man! Just make sure you study those study guides because thats the entire test pretty much! Other than that, you can skip!
Very kind professor. Easy class, if you put the effort in to finding the correct answers on the study guide, as the test is a copy of the questions on there. Attendance is "mandatory", with a sign-in sheet passed around, but you can skip a few days. Nothing really happens in class, and a lot were on computers.
He is a great man in and out of class. If yo have any issues with the department or the class, he is always there for you. I have had a good realtship with him since the start of the semester and he even let me make up an exam when i missed it last year. Old fashion, down to earth man
He is absolutely inspirational!
I just showed up most of the time. You won't really talk about history of ed. but he's got some interesting stories and he's a pretty cool professor
He is a wonderful professor. The book is used in class discussions, but if you cannot buy this.. then you will be just fine!
We wrote 5 papers and that was it for the class. Just have someone sign you in if you don't go to class and you will pass. I spent 10 minutes on each paper and passed with an A+
Easiest class ever. Don't need to be in class. Final grade is only based on 4 papers that take 30 minutes to write.
He was a great educated guy, however lectures were often painful.. He took attendance in the beginning but eventually stopped. Attendance is often super low. Participation makes the class more interesting and fun so definitely try to participate. Your whole grade depends on 4 papers that are easily written. Has lots of personal stories too.
This class was an EASY A! Many people skipped class, attendance was only taken a few times. This classes grade is based off of four papers which only take an hour tops to write. He is a very nice and understanding professor who loves education. Take this class with this professor if you want an easy A.
Professor Kasambira is my one of my favorite teachers! He is such an amazing person and makes class fun to go to every single time! I always looked forward to the days I had his class and enjoyed every bit of it. This class only has a few papers that arent time consuming at all! I would take his class over and over again, best experience ever!
Dr. Kasambira is an extremely nice, caring teacher that is an absolute joy to be around. ETE 115 is so easy that it is almost laughable. Our grades were just 4 papers that were each 1-1.5 pages long, it is impossible for you to get anything lower than an A. I 100% recommend this class & him to anyone, easiest A you will ever get, I guarantee it.
