Sometimes gets a little excited in class, and seems depressed when no one can answer his questions in lecture.

so hot.. haha, his class is hard though if you dont understand chemistry very well, he is always there to ask questions to, but not very good at explaining how to get to the answers... quizes online, test are easy compared to review, you do the review in lab one day, so thats good

Dr. Krause is a good guy, and a good teacher too. I'd never had a single class of chemistry before his, and I did well in it. He's really funny (I'm still laughing about his description of a "single displacement") - and rather excitable too - jumps up and down and shouts during class.

Dr. Krause is a pretty good guy to take this class from. Graded homework is quizzes on WebCT (hint: work with a partner or 3). Plenty of points. Funny correlations between elements' electonegativities and human attractiveness. Labs are fairly easy. Very knowledgable of Chem. Take for EASY B-C.

Took him last year and he was a great teacher. Very smart, very funny, and very helpful. Enthusiastic about the subject.

Krause is my favorite professor at UCA. He's always helpful if you have questions and super nice. If I was older I think we would be best friends!! Study hard for his tests.

I loved him as a professor. The labs were easy but some were long. His tests aren't too bad but do require a lot of preparation. dont get behind in material and if you can try to read ahead before the lecture. He likes those who speak up in class whether you're right or wrong.

Great guy. Very laid back and easy going. Class is not that hard. Labs are easy and will help boost your grade. Make sure and take WebCT quizzes and use the online practice tests and study guide.

Great guy, loves to help you out if you come to his office. WebCT quizzes are a cinch, and you can retake them at the end of the semester to get perfect scores on them. Tests are hard, especially the multiple choice. Very easy to think you did well and end up making a C. His personality and teaching style make the class a blast.

Pretty easy class. Make sure to take the WebCT quizzes and do well on labs and ur sure to pass. Cool teacher, nice guy.

Ok, he is not the best teacher in the world, but if you do your webct stuff, the test will be much easier, I promise... he is a very cool guy that makes chem. intereting and fun!! Very good guy!! I recomend him!!

Dr. Krause is great! The class is hard but he makes it relevant and interesting. He is very approachable if you need help, and he's funny in class. I had him for Chem 1 & 2 and I would take him again if I could!

Great Teacher just a hard class.

I recommend Dr. Krause. I took him for Chem I in Summer I. He got off track sometimes and went on tangents about Wisconsin and his grandchildren, but other than that, he was a good teacher. He has practice exams on his website and practice HW problems: I didn't read the chapters, I just did the tests and HW and got an A.

When other students say that he teaches expecting you to already be a whiz at chem, they aren't joking. I had no chem experience and was so freaking lost in the class. He is super nice and very eager to help you out after class, but even when he explains stuff to you, you are still expected to know a little bit more than what you really do.

He is an extremely SMART and nice man. He's very willing to help his students. He gives enough assignments to assist with grades. I did well on everything but the tests. However, that was my fault NOT his. He posts study guides and practice exams on WebCT before his tests. I was just never good at science.

He knows what hes teaching, however i didnt always. Expects alot of you...Has interactive powerpoints. Labs let out early. You always think you do good on tests, but you usually dont!

Great teacher makes it fun to goto class. AAA+++ funny and gives a lot of points so it is easy to bring up a low gread. i will take him in chem II (1451)

Professor Krause is a very good teacher and is very animated in his teaching! If you study hard, you will do fine in his class. I highly recommend taking him.

his voice gets high pitched when he gets excited. makes class interesting. hard tests. its good to print off the pre-tests.

Dr. Krause is AMAZING! He is the funniest guy at UCA, actually cares about your grade, and gives you tons of points, so if you do all your assignments, you're at least guaranteed a C. He is VERY helpful and makes class fun!

I really enjoyed Dr. Krause. He is funny and he makes lectures interesting. The class is easy if you go to class and are willing to study. If you don't do well on tests, he takes other grades to pad your score. I would take him again!

Krause was a very good teacher. I took chemistry in highschool and never really understood it but i did very well in his class. He is a very straight forward teacher. Show up, use the clicker, do the hw assigned (which is minimal), do the online quizes, and show up to lab--if you do that you will do great. Take him.

He's probably the best Chemistry teacher you can find here, but it's still a hard class. The tests aren't that easy, and unless chemistry just comes easy for you- don't think it's an easy passing grade. He's a really fun teacher though and I recommend him over anyone.

He is a very animated guy. Makes chemistry fun. It is a difficult class no doubt. He is always willing to help though. The hardest part of this class is the tests. He is probably the best chem teacher in the department. Take him!!!

He is a nice guy once you get to know him,can seem like a jerk but you just have to be a little thicker skinned. I sux at chem but I would go to him in his office it seems like he is always there which is a good thing. We would work through it till I understood. That makes him a good teacher in my book. Studied hard and made a B.

I took Dr. Krause in the summer. He was a little hard to understand sometimes, but if you asked him something he tried to answer it. He is very enthusiastic about chemistry..almost to much. Did great on lab and hw, however, my test average wasn't good. He gives so much hw and grades in lab I pulled a B. Totally recommend him.

Krause was good, made a B in the class without too much studying, really helps that he is pre pharmacy advisor too!

Very knowledgeable. When you ask questions he will answer them and explain them in terms you understand. Also, very funny.

He is an awesome professor. Uses a clicker for participation grade (3%), so attendance is beneficial. The material is pretty easy at first, but gets a little more difficult in the mid semester. Krause is extremely helpful in his office and is hilarious in class. He's overall a really nice guy. Wants you to succeed. I DEFINITELY recommend him.

Krause was a cool guy, but i was placed in the wrong class...but i tried stinking it out but couldnt make it through. If you arent very good at Chemistry its pretty hard. The labs and Hw were good. But tests were detailed. But overall he was a pretty nice guy and loves chemistry.

He is a really nice guy, but if you don't have much knowledge of chemistry do not take this class! He teaches as if you already know how to do it, and each day is a new subject with no review of the previous day... I had to withdraw from the class due to having an F- :(

Krause was funny, and the people who rate him poorly are the ones who refuse to approach him and ask questions. All the online quizzes are able to be retaken at the end of the semester. Has practice tests online. With a little bit of effort the class isn't too bad. I only used my book 3 times and got an A. Just attend class,take notes, and ask ?'s

I took him for Chem 1 and am now taking him for Chem 2. I made a B on every test, but made an A in the class because of clicker participation, lab grades, and online quizzes and assignments Make sure you do the assignments before the due date because he will not re-open them under any circumstance/quizzes will be reopened at the end of the semester

Outstanding professor. Very clear in lectures and labs. Attendance is recommended since he gives "clicker" questions that add up to bonus points. He is very helpful when asked questions. Highly recommend Dr. Krause.

I took Krause for Chem 1 & 2. He is by far my favorite teacher at UCA. Very helpful and excited about chem. There are 4 tests, online assignments and quizzes, and labs. Final is comprehensive but you get a cheat sheet. He does in class experiments to show what he's talking about. Posts powerpoints and study guides online. He is precious!

Made a B in his Chem I class and an A in his Chem II. GO TO CLASS. He's been teaching a very long time and likes what he does and his teaching reflects that. He is an awesome teacher, & if you don't understand what's going on he's really great at helping out.He posts powerpoints & gives you practice problems to help you study for the tests. He uses clicker points so I suggest coming to class, there are also online assignments to make sure you're understanding what you're doing in class Such a great guy!

One of the best professors ever; has a great teaching style & you learn a lot. He lectures with enthusiasm, which helped me pay attention. Go to class and earn easy clicker points which can boost your grade. Not going to lie, exams were hard, but not impossible as long as you take the time and effort into studying and do the practice tests!

Dr. Krause is one of the best professors that I have ever had. He presents information in a way that makes it easy to understand and apply to different situations. His test are alot like the bb quizes and previous test. Make some attempt to go regularly because he gives points for in-class participation.

I do not like Chemistry but he made the class interesting and fun to come to. He doesn't teach all of his labs which sucks but he is willing to meet with you during office hours to help you with any questions or problems you have. Whatever final grade you think you will get, expect higher because he gives assignments and drops lowest grades.

Great teacher. Would do anything to help you in the class as long as you ask. You will pass if you do all homework and assignments. Pay attention, sit close to the front, and go to class. Gives so many other points that really help out. GREAT teacher for anyone needing Chem 1402.
