Incredible guy, makes you work but you'll know your stuff
Extremely, unecessarily difficult, demeaing...don't take him you will regret it!
very unfriendly, thinks he is king of the world.
very hard, if u can avoid taking him AVOID HIM!
great teacher, hard class. You just have to study.
Good teacher but very hard tests, study a lot
USE THE STUDY GUIDE TEST!!! It will make test easier, trust me.

He went to UofM, he's VERY clear but you better study!
take Dr. Long for lab. make sure you know how to spell if you take krieger
Very Clear, but we could have used some quiz for a better grade, not just 4 test
bad teacher
Very unnecessairly hard. Most are failing, few are passing. Not willing to assist, just say's look at outlines. Blames students for failure.
EXTREMELY HARD, I am premed so I had no choise but to get an A in the class. However, for those of you who are just filling in for a Science credit. DO NOT TAKE KREIGER. you will know your stuff, but not worth the price. He is really friendly though
Hardest teacher ever
Know your stuff! He is hard! Read and know your notes! Study, Study, Study!!! He knows it all so you better know it as well! He is GOOD, but you have to know everything!
You DON'T want to have this teacher for this course! His tests are insanely hard!
Extremely hard class!! Most in my class dropped it. You have to study study study. I did that and still failed. You have only four tests and about 50 pages of notes for each test. Nice guy but extremely hard. He should be teaching at a four year college
He was a very hard teacher. He just flies along in the course. As soon as he is done with one test he flies to the next one. I didn't even feel that I had anytime to ask questions.
Is this teacher from Forest Hills?
Krieger is a very approachable person, you can come to him for help with anything. Tests are very complex and essays you have to be prepared for. Basically you have to know your stuff or you will fail.
This course was hard. But, if you study alot and take good notes, you'll do fine. Don't miss any classes! His multiple choice test questions are worded to trick you. If you honestly try to do well in this class, you will leave with a lot of knowledge. If you get a B in his class, it would be an
This is the worst teacher that was ever allowed to teach. He does not care about his students one bit. I needed this class for my field, had to drop it because it was so hard. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS with him.
He made this class so much harder then it needed to be. More then half the class dropped it and more then half were still failing. Hes a nice person but a bad teacher. Dont take him for this class.
DO NOT TAKE HIM. YOU WILL NOT PASS!Impossible!!!!!
Hard class but very doable. Expect to study and know the material. Very good instructor. Many thought he was too hard. Not true. He is very informative, gives you ALL the information you need to do well, is very willing to help & answer questions. My favorite professor so far.
Very good teacher. He is by far the best anatomy teach i have ever had. If you want to learn a lot, take him. You will learn lots and have fun
Good teacher. Always willing to help - actually his keeps office hours. Lectures are very clear, simplified, and proceed at a good pace. Tests are tough, but if you study the coursepack regularly you'll know everything on the test - just need to apply it.
his teaching format is excellent, but his tests are almost impossible to pass. He's probably the most frustrating teacher i've ever had.
I worked a 12-hour shift and came to class the morning after sometimes and still managed a B in the class. Study and you will do fine. A great instructor.
His tests are hard. He likes to put at least 6 fill in the blanks. I do like that he uses and overhead projector for note taking. He is a friendly teacher, but strict, because he wants you to understand concepts and not just memorize the notes. Only you can decide if he is a match for your learning style.
I like him, he draws pictures and answers questions on the spot. Very friendly and student oriented. His tests are hard, and he's a stickler for spelling, but pay attention...ask questions...and go to class, you should be fine.
giant cheesewad, tests were moderatly hard
Mr Krieger is an awesome lab instructor. I didn't have him for lecture. He actually "instructs" in lab rather than letting you try figure out on your own what the objective is. Get him for lab if you can. He is excellent!!!
I think that some of the ratings are a bit harsh. Yes, it is not the easiest class. If you follow and study the objectives and learn the material you will get a good grade.
Not many people in my class liked his teaching style but I thought it was alright. He is a nice guy but the tests were pretty tricky. probably wont take him again.
He is stuck on himself. He's highly into himself. He his very judgmental and if he doesn't like you your grades will show it. I was warned about him but I didn't listen. Well 2 days into the course I dropped it after he made me an example in front of the class "what not to do in a lecture". I went to the bathroom! He thought it was rude.
I had him for 121 lab. And he was very rude. I have never seen a cadaver b4 and when he first showed them to my class he was knocking on the heads and talking about roast beef... not cool at all. and his lab tests were very tricky.
worst teacher ever..doesnt review... doesnt care...expects you to memorize the whole study packet..do not take him!!!! i had 32 people in my class..when i dropped after the drop date..7 people were left!!!!
Even though a lot of people complained about him, I thought he was a good professor. If you read your notes and make sure you understand concepts instead of memorizing it, you should be fine. I just cram a few days before exams, and I got an A. I don't recommend doing that. He's very picky about spelling, so make sure you can spell words.
I had him for lect & lab. He's better for lab. I liked him most of the time. For tests he can be very vague. He's very tough, kind, cocky, and strict. I'm an A student, I had to fight for a B. Over half of the class dropped for lect & lab. If you want to learn and work hard, take him. He loves q's.
This is a teacher who loves to teach, but really does not know how to do so effectively. He seems to only give good grade to those people he likes, I actually got very good grades, but I do not think the way it was done was fair. He is very stuck on himself, seems to love to talk the book he wrote, as if students care. Do not take if possible!
He is very good at explaining things if you have a question, but he is very tricky when it comes to test taking.
I do not think the way he tests is fair. you get 5 points off your essay, even if it is perfect, just for not indenting your paragraphs. his tests are really hard and he does not review anything. his lab is hard too, he expects you to memorize EVERYTHING. i would not recommend this professor.
I only had him for lab but he his very good at explaining things if you have a question. his test are very tricky and he also writes notes on your lab exam after he grades them. If you get below a C he will let you know it. Should not do that, some students may get offended. Just grade the papers and put the letter grade on it only. will not take h
I would only recommend taking Krieger if you're awesome at A&P and very good at preparing for a test on things not covered in the class. He is a very smart man, very smart, but he is not smart enough to know how to teach a class effectively. I would never, ever tell anyone to sign up for his class!
I had him for A&P lab. Very energetic and moves a lot when he talks, so he can be hard to keep up with. But he tells you everything you will need to know for the tests, so pay attention. He is very knowledgeable and upbeat. I highly recommend him for lab.
Mr. Krieger is a really nice guy, but he's insanely hard as a teacher. Be able to devote LOTS of study time to your notes. Sometimes can feel very overwhelming in his class.
He is an incredibly intelligent man, but his tests are absolutley ridiculous. He wrote his own book about anatomy and uses the textbook, but some of his questions would be out of neither of them. You have to keep up with this class every single day or you will not do well. If at all avoidable don't take this class with him.
I liked Krieger, but I have heard lots of people do not, I think if you like diagrams and listening in class, it is pretty easy!
Hardest teacher around. I have him for 121 lab RIGHT NOW, and this is NOT the teacher you want! I AM TELLING YOU THAT IF YOU HAVE HIM SELECTED, Get Out and pick another teacher. No, this is not some joke... he makes you spell every word correctly (which can get hard at times) and you do not get SPO's but instead get to study a million things!
He's ALL over the page, I cannot understand what went ON in class. He just uses an outline for study material, but where he comes up with questions on an exam, no one knows. He doesn't grade your exam until one full week has passed, this is extremely frustrating as you want to keep the momemtum UP, and cannot. I am disappointed.
He is a very hard teacher! His tests are purposefully tricky, even if you understand the material! The only way to do good in this class is if you already work in a hospital or something and have a good background on anatomy. I would not take this with him if this is your first time in anatomy!
As a person he's dorky but nice.. but when it comes to his class and the knowlege that needs to be known, he expects you know to everything when he'll only test you on half and he won't give you any outline to what he tests you on
When I had my class with Paul Krieger, I worked really really hard, but now that I am out of his class I can appreciate how hard he made me work. His diagrams were helpful to me, more of my learning style. If you have questions go to his office hours he will help you out. I am still able to use the knowledge I gained in his class.
visual learning teacher
Uses old school projector instead of powerpoint. Uses illustrations that become clogged up with marker and then never references them to outline. Provides NO review for exams and requires you to write an essay for each one which he grades in increments of either 5, 10, or 15 with no in betweens! Absolutely a joke!
His teaching style is unlike many that I have had in the past. For a anatomy physi class he does not stress a lot of things that are important. His tests are all over the place with points some worth 88 others 98 or 100. He grades in a weird way, i wouldn't take him again.
he expects you to know alot of information...im in BI 121 Lab with him right now (fall '08)and its alot of at-home work everyday to stay cought up but its not too hard if you put in the time to learn the information. i would not recommend him if you dont know the ways you learn best. (visual, auditory, flashcards, pictures...etc.)
class seems easy at first, but when the test come, they are like a foreign language, he doesn't explains things well, he is not usefull
Krieger is very hard! He really want's you to learn the material. There is alot of studying. I think he is good. I am usually a A student and I got a B+.I am taking him for 122 though.
He is extremely helpful and and available to work with, he will take time after class, even another hour, to help explain the material, if you do your work, and he knows your working, you will not have issues with him. I thought he was a very good teacher, and again, if your a dedicated hard worker, the class is great
I would not take any classes with this teacher. He expects you to know a lot of information, he only goes over the main 5 or 6 mechanisms and then expects you to know the rest for your test. The tests are so hard! He is kind of rude unless you are one of the 'smart' ones in the class. I study very hard yet I get below a b- on every test!
His tests are ridiculous. If you are not one of the favorite students, it seems like he makes sure you do not do well. As much as you may study for his tests, they are not even what he goes over in the outline. Several other teachers told me his book is a joke. If you have a chance, do not take his class.
What a great teacher! Yah, he is tough, but you really learn the material. He follows his outline and is very honest about what you need to study...If you are a lazy person and don't want to study he is not the prof for you. But if you want to learn and are a hard worker, he is the best! Thanks for a great semester P. Krieger!
He is definitely a tough teacher, I worked harder in his class than any other classes I have taken. He requires a lot more detail to be known than most other teachers, but I think it is worth the hard work. I feel really accomplished after this semester. He shows his passion for teaching, and was very helpful!
Prof Krieger is actually a really nice and is willing to help you if you need it.His class is difficult, you need to go to class and take notes,he only covers some topics in his lecture packet and he leaves some topics for you to study on your own, so make sure you study it before the test because it will be tested on, study and you will pass
Awful professor. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
good luck. he is a smart guy but expects too much. Unless this is your only class and your willing to put all of your free time towards studying, i would suggest switching teachers. his tests are extremely hard. you also dont go over everything that is on the tests which means you have to learn extra material on your own. lots of work!
I have never studied as hard for a class as I did for his BI 122 lecture, but the hard work was worth it, because I also have never learned so much in any class before this one. He is a tough teacher, and I was scared after reading his reviews but I ended up doing well! He shows a lot of passion for the material and was a great teacher!
Excellent instructor. Lecture is designed well and thoroughly explained. Has an excellent teaching style for visual learners. If you are looking to go into Health care I would recommend his class.
Very pompous. If you are not one of the few favorites, good luck getting a decent grade. His office hours are impossible to work around and he is incredibly unhelpful trying to schedule a different time to meet. Worst teacher at GRCC and made my top 10 list for worst people. Pictures are the only way he teaches. Just an awful person/professor.
Im surprised that theres people giving him a bad review. This teacher is awesome! He takes the extra time explain everything in detail and gives you a list of what will be on exams. Exams are tough but what do you expect? he tells you what will be on it and all you have to do is learn it. if you cant handle taking simple notes or studying dont sign
This is my second class with this professor. He is definately thorough. Some people may find that hard.
Uses helpful analogies for complex topics. Provides helpful review and study information. Goes out of his way to be helpful. Provides feedback to review material and sample essays prior to the test. Answers emails promptly. After taking Krieger for this class, I had the misfortune of taking another instructor for 122. I highly recommend Paul.
BEST TEACHER EVER.
This class is hard. It's not the professors it is a very hard class. Would you want a nurse working on you if they passed with D's barely getting by? Or would you want the medical professional that did well? This prof CARES about his students and teaches very clearly the topics he has at hand. He offers Practice quizzes and tells u what he expects.
Paul is an excellent teacher. All of the people below who said he was extreamly hard obviously didn't put the time in that it takes to do well in a college A&P Class. He is very helpful and gives you all the tools you need to do well in the course. Practice quizes and sample essays are very helpful! He knows his stuff.
I got a b- in lab, b+ in lecture, B overall. I like his lab, but lecture is tough. 4 Tests in lab and lecture and attendance are the only grades. He makes an outline packet for lab and lecture, so u only have to pay attention, which makes studying and note taking easy. He's very helpful and wants his students to succeed. Very nice person.
Best teacher i have ever had. Always puts a smile on your face, and you leave class actually understanding material due to his skilled teaching methods and packets. Got A's in both classes, yeah it was work, but what class isnt? I would never recommend anyone other than Paul...
This professor does a good job at teaching the information however, he is a very difficult grader. I'm not saying this because I've been slacking, I have not been. This is the first class I have ever had where I've gave it my all and still got a C and he seems to play favorites on particular students. If you don't kiss ass, good luck.
Definitely took his time to answer all questions everyone had (dumb/not) to ensure that everyone had an excellent understanding. He does use mainly pictures to help students visualize/map out the mechanisms. I found that very helpful for my learning style.
Very hard class. Had recieved an A in 121 and did poor in 122. His tests are hard. Few tests so dont mess up on them. His lab class had 3 tests with no exam and lecture had 3 tests with a exam. This includes no homework to help out your grade. I do not recomend him as a professor. Take 121 or 122 with someone else.
BEST TEACHER EVER! He really explains everything so thoroughly and he really cares and wants people to understand. His tests were not hard and I now have a different lab teacher for 122 and I miss his lab tests. The class in general is hard work no matter what teacher you have, but he helps you actually LEARN not just MEMORIZE. AMAZING TEACHER!!!
He's a decent instructor, but definitely plays favorites. I was pregnant during his lab, and for safety reasons, could not partake in the cadavar lab (it was HIS idea for me to opt out)...on our last exam, he gave the entire class 4 extra credit points, except for me, because I didn't do the cadavar portion. I just thought it was completely unfair.
Learned a lot and his teaching methods were very helpful. It was a hard class with hard tests, but if you are going into the medical field, he is going to help you get there by forcing you to learn your material. Don't miss classes as you will you miss a lot of information.
He skips over a lot of terms and material that is needed for exams. You have to use your book a lot because he is vague on a lot of things when he is teaching. We do a lot of diagram coloring in class, which only helps to a certain extent. He does give study guides before tests which helps a lot but takes FOREVER to grade them!
I have now had him for both 122 and 122 and I love his teaching style. He uses a lot of diagrams to cover the concepts of the class and I find them extremely helpful. Although, you do have to put forth a ton of effort because he doesn't teach all the minute details. But if you are going into the medical field, he is your best option.
Worst professor I have ever had. He's very rude and demeaning. His note taking is very unorganized and he doesn't explain concepts thoroughly. I thought I was going to like him until he started making condescending comments and brought religion up immediately. Also, if you have any prior obligations and cannot make class, he isn't okay with it.
Not a helpful professor at all, you spend the entire class time coloring in pictures while struggling to keep up with him. Nothing else is covered. Don't expect any help or quizzes to help with your grade. It's all on you basically he doesn't teach. Very disappointing.
Studied very hard for exams. He made them so tricky, could be multiple answers. Class avg.for all tests were C-. Never got below a B+ before this class. In this profession to see students fail. Doesn't make learning interesting, just stressful.
Hard professor. Be prepared to do a lot of work on your own and going home and teaching yourself because all you do in class is color pictures of certain sections and then have to teach yourself everything else. Goes way to fast, not really helpful
Very nice guy and much more helpful one-on-one than during lab. He tends to zip through pp slides, focuses on some things that are not in the SPO, but skips things that are.
If you want an A, you have to put in the effort. He gives you all the tools to succeed, but you have to use them. Print out his TERMS pages, make flash-cards for those. Study from his OUTLINES, do the practice QUIZZES after each outline. Print out the four possible EASSAY questions that will be on the next test. Ask Questions, and do the work.
Although you do have to do a lot on your own, he tells you what he expects from the beginning. If you print out the 4 possible essays and do them early he will look them over for you before the test. He uses a flip classroom at times which is great as the videos he does are very good. He is a great lab instructor as well.
Studied and studied for his exams but am not getting above a C. All he wants to do is color his published illustrations and not follow outlines. I have resorted to stop using the illustration packet that I was told needed to be purchased for the class and have been doing flow charts ect. Wouldnt take again.
He was a great professor. He was always helpful if I had a question on a topic I did not understand well. He is very approachable, knowledgeable, and organized about his material that he teaches. However, he tends to go a little fast with material so you have to study a week or more in advance before a test. Grading is a little tough also.
Krieger is a good prof but be prepared to do lots of independent learning. A majority of class time is spent coloring. Invest in a tape recorder - he speaks fast. Write essays ahead of time and print off quizzes and terms list. Make it a priority to study daily and study EVERYTHING in the outline even if it isn't on the quiz. Did this and got an A-
He doesn't give homework. All of your points are earned through tests. I had my essay question marked down 5 pts because I didn't indent my first paragraph. It was otherwise an A essay and lowered my test grade to A-. Just don't forget to indent folks! Even if the essay is written on the back of the exam.
He doesn't give homework so your grade is based on how you do on tests. He gives you material before every test so you know what to expect on in. He grades the essays on tests very hard so make sure you explain everything in detail. He uses pictures which helped me learn better.
He is so nice and will answer any question,no matter how stupid. He did a flipped class and I loved it. He gives out quizzes which are 90% multiple questions and shows videos. He keeps the class interesting. You have to study to do good in the class.
I absolutely loved him. He gives you everything you need to succeed right off the bat and tells you exactly what he expects when it comes to grading. He is a tough grader but it's because he gave you all of the information and explains it all in a way that everyone can understand. If you don't do good in this class, it's because you didn't study.
LAB: A&P is hard enough as is, but this prof sure won't help make it any easier. Makes you learn the material on your own, doesn't teach any of the class period even the period before an exam. After an exam if people don't do well he puts rude posts on BB talking about how unprepared students are and how we are going to fail this class.
Provides very helpful lecture and lab material. Will help you in community engagement if you are interested and is genuinely interested in his students. BI 121-122 is rather difficult but this prof makes it easier to understand and is very clear on testing material. 100% would take a class this prof again.
He is a terrible professor. I would not recommend if youre looking to get a decent grade. I am an A/B student and ended with below a C. When I went to get helpful tips on how to improve, he told me to review my essay from the beginning of the semester on study tips. He is very passive aggressive and demeaning. Does not have students best interest.
The professor does not even teach in class. He plays PowerPoints that are on blackboard (why am I even here) with his voice pre recorded, while sitting in the back of the classroom. He refuses to use Quizlet, APR, or work with other professors. Only study material are slideshows online you have to print off and learn from on your own (goodbye $)
A lot of people think he isn't a good professor but I think that people who say that aren't used to working hard for their grades or doing work at home. His outlines are the holy grail to the tests so as long as you study it religiously you will have no problem getting a good grade.
Doesn't really lecture. He has a packet of information on every topic. He just tells you to learn that. Basically you have to teach yourself. He does "reverse lecture" where you watch videos and teach yourself at home, and just "ask questions" in class while you do a review sheet. When you ask questions, he'd say "Well it was in the video"
Would not recommend this professor. Definitely does not have student's success in mind. Very difficult tests, even after doing the outline 'quizzes', still don't feel prepared for the tests. I need this class for my major, and I feel like I am not learning as much as I need to.
Very demeaning. Puts stuff of exams that he never taught in class and expects his students to teach themselves topics. Be prepared to color and take notes on topics that won't be on the exam.
Seems to be compassionate about what he is teaching, however his learning style is not for everyone. I would not take him again because his learning style is very difficult for me to pay attention too and learn from. Answers questions willingly and wants you to learn. Hard grader, and confusing tests.
Professor Krieger is very knowledgeable, but really likes to make use of his illustrations. I recommend putting the illustrations into his outline because it is hard to take notes while drawing on the illustrations and he often skips large chunks of the outline. Show up to class, attendance is a biggy. Use the quizzes, he takes questions from them
This professor is one of the best professors that I have ever had. I have almost 8 years of college. He covers a lot of material using a variety of teaching methods which he has obviously worked hard at. If you do what he says to do, and you put time and honest effort into understanding his illustrations, you will do well. He is fair and helpful
One of the worst professors i've ever had, point blank period. Don't waste your time with him, if he's your only option just wait till the next semester.
