Take Musselman... much easier.
easy class just do the practice test or homework and will pass the class.
Very funny and helpful teacher. Extremely genuine with his students.
Kryder is one crazy looking guy, but he knows he stuff and he tries to make sure you do too

I can recommend him as a good instructor.
So easy! Do practice tests, and show up to class or you will be lost. Highly recomended.
Very good teacher. Pay attention in class or else u will be lost!!!
pretty good instructor, heard he's the easiest teacher teaching math 45. willing to help if you go by his office. you can go by w/o any reading of the text, but may need to attend class if you want to keep up. overall, pretty easy.
Eh... pretty easy material if you do the parctice tests and go to tutoring.
hes not the best, but no one is easier!
Wierd Guy, cant get the material accross to the students in my opinion....he knows his stuff just cant teach worth a dang. Easy class just make sure you nail the tests
He is a great teacher. I like his teaching style because he teaches like if it was actually happening right that very second. Very Entertaining
he is very...strange...he gets really into what he teaches, but he messes up a alot...this class annoys me a lot, and I am not quite sure why it is called math
Very strange, but entertaining. He explains the material very well though.
I thought that this professor was very good. he has been my favorite so far. he is very clear, helpful and can project his voice very far. he gives u practice tests with practically everything that will be on the test. if you go to class and just listen to him, then it is an easy A. Don't take Tannenbaum cause he wrote the book and he's very hard.
He's a little on the wierd side, at first hard to tell if thats him or hes trying to joke around, but thats really him. its kind of funny and entertaining. if you do your homework and go to class then everything will be pretty clear for you. He has a loud voice and is very clear in how to do the problems. If you take math 45, take him.

SO HILARIOUS! I only was interested because he was so funny looking and hilarious.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Pay attention in class, he gives answers away! Go to exam reviews.

This guy is funny/awesome.
Funny guy. I did the homework, studied my notes, went to lectures and reviews, and I pulled off an A. It was a pretty easy class.
This guy is hella funny! He has such a weird character, but he's a good professor. He's one of those guys that really, really likes math. But he is very thorough with the material, and gives lots of examples. Pay attention and do the homework and you'll do
Pretty easy teacher. He likes Hawaiian print shirts and Seven Up. BTW, Do your homework! You will be glad you did.
this guy is funny!! great teacher!
He's so nice and he geniunely wants you to understand. He's really helpful and the class is really easy if you show up and pay attention!
One of the best professors I've ever had. Knew the material and knew how to teach it. Posts notes on the internet and gives thorough review which I really liked. Definately would recommend.
Hes awsome. Its easy to show up and pay attention. Best to have a seat up front!
the concepts are weird and he is too, but he's good at teaching. do the homework theyre worth extra points. go to class and take notes because the material is so different
GOOFY!! He gets real passionate during lecture and yells. dont plan on getting out of class early, he'll let ya know if there is still 45 seconds left of class. hes an amazing teacher notes are online along with practice exams, study sessions before exams. DO the homework because it helps and its extra credit in the end which gave me my A.
Kryder is a dorky, crazy guy but he knows his stuff and always makes sure he is clear in his examples and what he expects from you on the test. You will never get out of class early. The homework, and the study guides and notes he posts online all help with the tests and they are very straightforward. The material is unlike any math class. ever.
Go to class, or die. if you go and do the homework you will get an A. there was not a day in class he wasnt wearing a different hawaiian shirt. he's crazy, and hilarious, and he's always yelling
He is definitely smart, but he can be annoying too. He yells during lectures and can be rather sarcastic. The work isn't really difficult just time consuming. From personal experience, be careful when asking questions because he can be ruthless if he apparently deems your question "less than intelligent"
This man is crazy, but makes a really broing class fun to attend. You never know when he will yell in the middle of a lecture and always wears different shirts. If you go to class, you will get an A if not good luck because the math is just different. Great teacher!
He is very sarcastic and funny. He always says something that ensures his students' attention. I always found myself asking, "Did he really just say that!" really fun guy though I enjoyed his class.
OMG KRYDER ROCKS!! I went to class everday because he's soooooooo funny!
Kryder is HIL-ARIOUS! Attending class isn't mandatory; he doesn't take attendance and the notes are online. However it is well worth going to class just for his crazy hawaiian shirts and amazingly random idoims. Homework and quizes are extra credit- tests are simple. Easy and fun "A".
Awesome teacher. I think the way he yells and keeops a straight face is so funny. love the way he come s in in slacks and a different hawaiian shirt everyday, and wears sandals with socks. RIGHT ON!!!
One of the best math teachers that I have ever had! All quizzes and homework are extra credit and he is always willing to help you if you need it. He cracks jokes in class and he is great teacher... Take him if you can! His tests are NOT a cakewalk, but if you study for them you will do fine. He also posts a study-guide for each test as well.
First of all, no matter what anyone says, GO TO CLASS! This is VERY different math and even though he posts all notes on Blackboard, it's CRUCIAL that you're there when he explains him. If you go, it's an easy class. All quizzes and homework are extra credit. He can be a little crazy but he is passionate about what he does! Good class!
I went to every class, and to the extra math labs, did ALL the homework and received an F. This is not an easy class because the math is so very different from anything you have ever done. I retook this class with a different prof. and got a B...I think that says it all!
1st of all this isnt normal math so attendance isnt a mandatory thing but it helps. The homework sucks but do it because its extra credit in the end.Tests are nothing like the homework so study the notes. He wears crazy hawaiian shirts everyday and when he runs up the stairs its funny. He loves his women singers and you will see them on his computer.
I've always hated math! Never had i passed my math class with border line C's...Kryder teaches very clear and willing to answer questions in class or stop and pause when we need him to. Although Math 4r is a pass or fail, i've calculated my grades, and letter grade wise, i have an A in that class (never have i in math before) Great teacher!
class was a joke...if you look online, it says the book is required. don't buy the book! you only need the access code because all of the hw is done online. class is pass or fail. offers extra credit if you do practice exams online. very easy class
Math is my enemy BUT Paul Kryder makes math so friendly and funny. This is an awesome instructor. You can enjoy his class hating math. He cracks so of the funniest jokes ever and he's not even trying that hard. I don't remember going to class one day without laughing. It's nice medicine for my math hating brain. Great at teaching, very helpful.
I dislike math. Prof. Kryder for the most part teaches the material that you UNDERSTAND it and likes that students ask questions, so if you don't understand something ASK. Math 45 requires lots of memorizing, so STUDY. Kryder likes to mix in jokes in class which makes it less boring of a lecture.
His class was pretty easy. He taught his lessons step by step and has his notes on blackboard, so if you miss class, you would still have the notes. He likes to crack some of the corniest jokes, which are pretty funny. He doesnt mind if you arrive late or leave early. The only negative about his class is that it's over by the savemart center.
you can totally hate the class but not go a day without laughing. you really have to read the book in order to fully understand what kryder is saying. otherwise, it was like learning greek. study study study! i always waited until 2 days prior and of course did bad, but on top of everything else i ended up with a B. don't rec kryder, but take J.rya
Kryder is a pretty good professor. I really hate math but as long as you pay attention even a little you'll get the lesson and event if you dont he posts all the notes on blackboard. plus he throws in really cheap jokes every now an then which are pretty funny but yea good teacher an good class to take.
Kryder was hillarious in the most nerdiest way (: the material is unlike any math you have or ever will have but he makes it makes sense. he goes slow and answers questions. he uses clickers so if u show up you get points but it doesnt effect too much if u miss some. i never used the book it was too complicated. go to the study review
Take 45 with him. Do it, it will be the FUNNIEST semester of your life. The guy is nerdy, and weird and you can NOT help snickering the whole time!!! It was great. I remember one time he put sound on his ppt, and when the noise went off as he clicked thru the slides, he kept telling US to shut off our phones that beeping is annoying! LOL!
He has a really out there personality with his desktop wallpapers of women and the Hawaiian shirts. As far as his teaching style goes, he was good at explaining the material.Like the others said the Math is so much different than what you would expect but overall he's a good teacher.Oh and do the HW it helps your overall grade.
Reason why I put that class is mandatory is because he uses the clicker. Other than that you can get all the notes online. Overall, great professor. He goes over the notes step-by-step, so it's very easy to understand. Rarely that much hw too. Highly recommended for area B2.
Just print out the notes and follow along in class. Don't buy the actual book, just the online homework called mymathlab. Material was somewhat confusing but the hw helps understand it. Only grades tests and final, everything else is extra credit, including homework.
He post all notes on blackboard...but if u are not in class...u definetly will NOT understand the material...he also can make ppl feel really dumb when u ask question...he has online study guides and everything but in all i found he himselfe ws not very helpful at all
The math you learn in Kryder's math45 is completely different than Ryan's. And it's really irrelevant math. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he does clicker quizzes for points daily. It was painful for me. He is majorly OCD, but can provide for a few laughs. Would not retake with Kryder
Kryder was an excellent. He went through all the notes thoroughly in class, reviewed for exams, and then post them on blackboard. He would give you all of the formulas for exams, the only bad thing I have to say is he was really if something wasnt specific enough on exams (interpretations, conclusions) but gave extra credit for Homework and Quizzes
He was not a very good professor. He didn't really teach the subject, which made it hard to understand because it wasn't real math. Also, he has this thing where he loves to yell into the microphone. Way too loud. The best part was watching him run up and down the stairs of the Rec Center Classroom.
Do not take him.
"EXCUSE ME!" is something yelled into the microphone 10 times a day. He is insane, obsessed with Hawaiian shirts and the women on his desktop screen. Very difficult professor, he changed my grade two weeks after posting it, so now I have to retake it. Not very approachable whatsoever!
Big class, hes funny and cool, different lady on screen everyday, the tests are easy as long as you know the material, which is all on blackboard and its a good class, weird different type of math though!
I really recommended taking Math 45 with him. He teaches the subject really well and makes class fun. He is very understanding and gives extra credit. Those that do not recommend him are obviously too lazy to try and understand this type of weird math. TAKE HIM!
I think he was AWESOME! Some people just think he's hard is because they don't study their notes after he lectures and are lazy to study. If you study you'll be fine, if you're lazy you won't be fine just take Ryan.
I think that you have to be interested in math and willing to learn it in a very different way in order to love the class. Kryder is a fair teacher with a fun personality. There is a test on each chapter and then a final. It was hard for me but I have never excelled in math. Success depends on skill and willingness to learn the material.
Ok, some of you guys are crazy. His 'math' isn't math first of all. Second of all, his rude and just plain LOUD! He yells random words like he has tourettes, just unnecessary. If you just want to hear yelling or the phrase "excuse me" all day take his class. I got a B, but there are some kids that have failed him 3 times, take another teacher!!!
I had him for math 45 AND math 70 (calculus for life sciences). Great teacher. I would really recommend him.
The professor was waaaaay rude, not helpful at all, and I do not recommend him. AT ALL. He's loud, obnoxious, and I wanted to stab my eyes out the entire time I was in class.
ok i will keep it simple i suck at math I had to start from intermediate algebra in college.. Explaination : very clear tests: very easy ( out of review) Helpfulness: VERY! EASY A... TAKE HIM you won't regret....
I do not recommend Kryder at all. He bases your whole grade on the tests and doesn't even grade the quizzes he gives you in class. Almost everyone faed his class, take it with Ryan!
it's a class that you are able to pass. not really hard. if you need help just ask during his office hours and he'll help you because he teaches in a big lecture hall.
If you know and like math this is the class for you. You don't have to come to class if you don't want to cause everything you need to know is posted on blackboard. The only time you need to come in is test days, and they are supper easy.
He is sooo hard!! Take him only if u love math nd his tests are hard failed his class so had to retake it with Ryan he is way better. DONT TAKE HIM!!!!!!
His class is easy just PAY ATTENTION! You have to memorize a fair amount of stuff to do good on his tests. I didn't put in much effort but if I did I would have pulled off an A. I still passed the class though.
the class isn't hard but its not easy, you have to put effort into learning the material. he constiantly contridicts him self and he only goes over material once and occationaly twice...on another note he runs up and down the stairs which is entertaing, when he falls that is
Extremely easy. Just do the homework and show up for tests and you will be fine, trust me.
It's very possible to pass the class with effort. Pay attention and study and everything will be fine. I passed the class and I didn't use or buy a textbook at all and relied on the notes I took. I recommend you to buy the book, you don't have to, but it's good if you do if you learn best that way. Best of luck.
Extremely easy. Just do the homework and show up for tests and you will be fine, trust me.
WORST TEACHER EVER!! i received an a simply because i am good at math and was able to teach myself through the online textbook and homework. He is extremely rude and not helpful at all. Do not bother trying to email him because he will not email you back. I do not recommend him to anyone, he is the most rude professor I have ever came across!!!
Easy as crap. I never went to class. Yet somehow, people still manage to fail the class.
This professor does not teach that well and is very boring but the class is very easy
Kryder is a really good teacher. He goes over everything in class. I never read the book but I did pass all his tests. But you have to pay attention because his tests have few questions but each is worth a lot of points.
This teacher is very rude. He runs up and down the class ridiculously, kind of funny sometimes when he tries really hard but the class is pretty easy. I didn't learn anything from him in lecture though. I learned more from the SI Session offered with the course. Don't buy the book, i got by with just his power points.
This class can be tough, you do have to study at least 6 hours a week for this class to pass. He is a very very tough grader, which makes this class hard. The material you learn isnt bad, its just his grading, he wants your set up for each problem to be exactly how he does it, or you lose half points. Just try hard and you'll pass. NOT AN EASY A!
He was a no-nonsense guy, but I really respected him. He went to the end of every period, never cancelled class, and was always prepared. I felt like I got my money's worth. It was a hard class so attendance was mandatory, but he explains things well. I recommend him if you're serious about learning and willing to put in the effort.
Kryder is a good professor. He tries to be as informative as he can. They only thing is the material in class, its not the typical math people would thing of. Take this class seriously, go to the SI sessions, they really help. Don't buy the book because all the lectures are on BB. Just buy the mymathlab portion. And be sure to go to class!
I failed his class this past semester simply because I was unaware of the online resources he posts on blackboard. Now that I know how easy it can be I'm retaking his class. iClickers are IMPERATIVE. Also, the homework has unlimited attempts...wasn't aware of this! I plan on getting an a this time!
Very interesting instructor. Loved the way he taught the subject. The test are pretty much the same as the practice test just different numbers. I say go to class, study your notes and the practice test. Getting an A is not hard at all!
Overally a good professor. Just sometimes acts like a weirdo and you will be like wtf but he tries to makes the class fun. Have seen better and worse.
His class was boring, his tone of his voice is a little annoying and sometimes startling. You don't need the book and can't resell it but you do need the MathLab access code for your homework. He goes over the test materials the day before and his lectures are all on blackboard. I ended up with a B.
His class isn't hard but it isn't easy. As long as you attend his class, take notes, and pay attention you should be fine. He's nice, and a weirdo.
This class is not like any math class i had ever taken. Kryder is a little bit weird, and is at times confusing, but if you listen in class, and study for the tests it should be no problem getting a good grade. The tests are exactly like the ones online, yet so many fail, if people fail this class its because they are lazy.
This teacher is boring, his class isn't all that hard its just the way he teaches. I would advise you to take ryan instead if you trying to get an A. make sure you pay attention and ask questions because if you don't you will FAIL. the class is out of 00 points he drops the lowest test and double the final so good luck because you WILL NEED IT!
Very easy class if you pay attention. He's very very clear when it comes to the material and what is on the test. If you're average at math, you will get this class, no problem. It's not like the math classes you're used to, it's very easy to understand as long as you pay attention. He even has SI sessions.
Not a good teacher; so hard to understand; have to go to class everyday; horrible teaching skills; very weird...if possible wait for Ryan.
ATTENDENCE MANDATORY for you to pass this class. If you dont understand GO Supplemental inittion. His teaching is okay for me had a rough time learning so I had to go to SI for like every session to get extra help. Hate last 10-15 he adds a new lesson so i get lost very easy. Fast teaching in his class. But overall hes OKAY. good personality.
He was not a good professor and I highly suggest you take Math 45 with someone else. I dreaded going to his class. If you want a shouting, rude professor with no fashion sense...then take Math 45 with him.
This class is not hard as I thought. and I hate math. just listen to what he is saying and do the exam his way. also do the online and text book homework for extra credit. he is willing to help you. do the practice exams before the exams it s very similar to the actual exam. home work adds up to about 10 points of EC for each exams.! which is great
In the beginning i thought I was not going to do good, but as the semester went by I found it easier. It's pretty much a learn yourself kind of class. His lecture is sometimes helpful though. So go to class! If you need help i recommend the SI sessions, but other than that if you study hard for the exams and do your homework you'll do good.
This class is hard. He flies through the lessons in class, can't really ask questions & get good help with over 200 students. You should go to class every time & pay attention. Do the online homework, it's the easiest part. Go to SI sessions! Study as much as you can. Use all resources!
this class is ridiculous. he doesnt make any sense when he talks and its best to just learn off the powerpoints yourself and take your own notes. also doing the homework online is really helpful as well.
Worksheets are extra credit along with quizzes
He literally goes through the lesson so fast. When you're doing a problem, he already writes the answer before you can try it out yourself. When he speaks, he slowly gets worked up and starts yelling for some reason. It's really weird.
Can get very confusing quickly if you can't keep up with his lectures as he does lecture fast. He expects you to know right off the bat what he's lecturing about. Heck, even the online HWK helps much better than his lectures. Overall, not too bad of a professor, but just keep up with his lectures.
This class is extremely hard, he is not really clear. If you take him, plan of attending SI session in order to understand. Very confusing grading policy. Don't recommend taking him.
Over dramatic and too passionate about math. gets very upset when you don't pay attention or even whisper during class. NEED to print notes weekly off of black board or you will get so confused.no textbook needed. had about 5 tests and 5 quizzes. online homework is not mandatory even if you do it, the grade won't be added unless grade is very low
Great teacher. Throughly explains material in lecture, willing to answer questions and help during office hours or after class. Gives extra credit for doing homework and in class quizzes. Go to every lecture, you'll be glad come test day. For homework you have the choice between book hw or online hw, or you can do both for more points.
His class was Hard!!! He didn't do a good job explaining the material! He went really fast, which caused you to get lost really easy. If you don't like math whatever you do don't take his class because you will dislike math even more. His Exams were REALLY hard! He does't put your homework, quizzes grades until the end. He was also really rude.
Kryder is a good professor I think you just need to keep up with him. It can get a little tricky, however he does little things that helps like Quizlets, review days, even homework. Also if you need the help because you do not understand him their is always SI sessions and tutoring in library. Its all up to you like every other class. :)
SO BAD. I've failed not once, but THREE TIMES. It's not me, it's him. I taught myself the material but he changes things on the tests to 'his way' which does not match the book. He changes the format and its confusing. I'm waiting til my last semester take it with Ryan. Ill have to get priority registration though since his class fills so fast.
Kryder is a good teacher, if you do the work and you pay attention then you'll do well. This class even offers SI tutoring and on the website he uses for homework it's really helpful. His notes from in class are even on blackboard. It's not hard at all, if so it's the students who make it hard, not him. Don't Procrastinate either.
I hate math so much and he made it bearable. Of course stats is challenging, but he was very clear all the time. The notes on BB are extremely helpful and he tells you exactly what is on the test, also does review day. You have a choice of paying for hw online or doing it from the textbook. online is helpful for exam. He is a little off, but helpfu
This professor I do not recommend to take because he goes incredibly fast over the lectures and his tests are nothing like the online homework. I found it hard to learn from him I spent more time learning the material on my own. I do not recommend to take this professor at all take Bryant!!!!!
VERY Difficult! Has a bad temper which makes going to class not fun. He jumps around from place to place. He's more focused on catching talkers than actual material. Tests aren't in the format you learn, its in his format. Makes it extra hard to not pass.
I have no idea how anyone could fail this class. He has every lecture posted online, bring those to class. Actually GO TO CLASS! Do the online H.W. Do not procrastinate. Kryder is very clear, and will answer any question. He holds review sessions before every test. There is no way anyone could fail this class, he holds your hand the entire way!
I passed with an easy A. All you need to do is go to class and his study guides definitely will help you with all exams. He drops the lowest exam. Homework is extra credit. Quiz scores are extra credit. Final is easy if you study his study guide because it is very similar.
Kryder was a good teacher. I dont understand why people have a hard time with passing his class. Yes, he does go over the slide a little fast at time but he explains it well and stops to answer your questions anytime. There is no reason to fail tests. He posts several practice keys that are IDENTICAL to the real exam. Study them and you shall pass.
Attendance is required. Pay attention in class! Textbook isn't required. Okay material if you pay attention. I took this course twice
He is a great teacher I really don't understand how anyone could possibly fail. He is a bit out there but a great teacher. Lowest test grade dropped clicker points extra credit old key quizzes and test are up for your benefit. GREAT INSTRUCTOR loved him just do your part as a college student like you should and you'll be just fine!
Nobody said college was going to be easy. Of course this class was a challenge, but it was not impossible to pass. If you actually show up to class, do the work, and study off the keys he gives you, you should have no trouble passing. I passed with an A.
Very easy!! All lectures are online. I rarely attended class and passed with an A.
If you fail this class it's because YOU didn't TRY. Hes easy and will explain everything. He seems odd at first, but he grows on you and is a enjoyable professor. He lays everything out for you on BB and lectures. He will have a helpful review before EACH test. GO TO CLASS! He has quizzes and will give an example of the problem before the quiz.
Pretty easy class if you pay attention. Attendance is not mandatory but i would recommend it. Covers alot in class and usually does not go off topic. Study his online examples, super identical to the test just numbers switch around. Mymathlab homework super easy because you can try as many times as you want. i got a B but doable to get an A .
He was a terrible teacher, super confusing, his grading is awful (On one of his tests, he had 10 questions each worth 5pts and two large word problems each worth 25pts. So basically if you got one of those word problems wrong, you could only get a 75%). I strongly advise taking another teacher.
One of the easiest professor at State! He offers ALOT of extra credit and his study guides are exactly like the test. The tests are easy as well. Attendance is not mandatory at all except for the first 3 days of class. Homework is also extra credit as well as the quizzes. The only bad thing is that the textbook or online homework costs alot.
As long as you come to class everyday and take notes you'll pass. Never used the text book. All exams are based only on lecture. If you miss one day you're pretty much messed up because he goes over a lot of content.
Easy class. Study guide is identical to the tests. Attend so that you understand the material. Do the textbook HW as opposed to the online HW, it is extra credit and is good practice. The professor is very strange at some times, but you just have to deal with it. Don't get the vibe that he is a jerk, he is actually quite helpful.
Did not like this instructor at all. He goes super fast during lectures, doesn't respond to emails, and has a horrible grading system. I'm a straight A student and this was by far the worst teacher I've had. I had a family emergency and I received no help what so ever.
Very challenging class if you've always had a tough time with math. In all honesty I tried very hard in the class and I still didn't manage to do well.. Attending the SI session was the only way I learned the material because in class he simply goes to fast and is way to confusing.
This professor is one of the most difficult ones I had, he can be very confusing at times and sometimes does not explain things very well at all. If another teacher is available, take him/her because my friend in another Math 45 class believes the other teacher was much more clear and easier to contact.
You seriously need to pay attention and do the homework because you will fail. He will explain if you don't understand but he goes a little fast. Attendance is mandatory because he uses iclickers and you lose points if you don't click in for quizzes.
He has been teaching this class for years and you can tell. He is very good at explaining the methods and takes the time to go through every step. There is a good amount of homework on MyMathLab but it's not too bad, just get it done before each test. Uses iClicker almost every class, tests are not too long but they can be a little tricky. Study!
He's an excellent lecturer & goes over the material with plenty of examples. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. He'll answer with no problem. He's kind of a kooky guy with a BIG personality. He shouts quite a bit but only 'cause he is very passionate about calculus. You really need to know the material for the exams, so go to class!
He is an awful professor. He doesn't explain himself and its not clear at all. I did not like his class I failed and I tried Si sessions and everything. So i took it with Jim Ryan the next and I passed the class with an A plus.! So don't take him don't waste your time or money.
His class can be difficult but if you go everyday and study your notes you should be fine. You don't need to do any homework in order to pass his class all you need to do is pass the tests. His pop quizzes were the best! They would be out of context pop quizzes, it would be kind of like trivia and he would always give you the answers so free EC.
Kryder is all business. He doesn't like when people do dumb mistakes. The class is easy, there are 4 tests and a final. The class material is easy to understand as long as you do not miss because he goes over a lot of material. Personally, I thought he was very funny and I enjoyed this class. It's pretty easy
Don't take him!! He doesn't explain well & u ask him a question but its more confusing & yells. He doesn't care 2 help students pass. I emailed him 2 let him know I couldn't attend class 1 day because of a death in family & had proof & he didn't excuse it. Oh & for tests its multiple choice with 2 write outs (hard). U might run out of time.
Just show up, take good notes and pay attention and you'll pass. Every class counts. I skipped just one class and felt lost for most of the unit. But that's cause I'm not a math person but if you are (and maybe even if you aren't) it's an easy class to pass. He even posts old tests so you know exactly what will be on the tests. Just GO TO CLASS!
Rushes through his lectures to fit it all in, and never lets class out early, he will literally lecture for the entire class. He tries his best though, he gives extra credit for clicker quizzes so make sure to go to class everyday.
This is a pretty easy class as long as you pay attention in lecture and do the homework. There's four tests and a final. He drops the lowest test grade if your final is higher. Show up to class everyday because the clicker quizlet points will add up over time and they are a good indication on what you should study for the tests.
By far the worst professor i have ever had. The class is almost impossible, well at least for me. I did not understand any lectures, tutoring and SI sessions did not help at all!! He's weird and made me very uncomfortable when seeing him at his office hours. He'd stare at me like a piece of meat :-
Due to the fact that Math 45 is a big class, it is difficult to get his attention during lecture when you need help. The material itself is super easy , basically taught myself. Attendance is not mandatory because the clicker questions are all extra credit. Quizzes, and work sheets are extra credit as well.
math is hard for me but after hard work i can say i really understand this subject! read every chapter, did every problem assigned, and went to almost every class. by doing this i was completely prepared for his exams and ended up with 100% in the class! you will get what you put in with this class. there are no shortcuts in this subject
He teaches at a very fast pace, if you don't go to class you will get behind because each day he teaches a new concept. Be ready to take notes fast because he doesn't slow down. Do the homework online and do the study guides that he provides on blackboard for the tests because it's the exact same content and outline as the test.
Failed the first 3 exams with an F. but started going to SI sessions and passed the 4th Exam. Put more than 23 hours on the online hw to get 100% on all of it. and iclickers help alot which are xc ... and attend the final review for the final
He's SUPER annoying.
He was a really bad teacher
I honestly struggle in math generally, but if I really apply myself I can pass with a B or C. This class is honestly the most confusing math class I have ever took. I would never recommend this teacher his passing rate is like 10% with over 600 students. If you have the option take professor Ryan over Kryder any day!!
Okay, having Kryder wasn't all that bad, but what he taught me from 7 lectures, I learned by the "mymathlab" homework in one night. He sometimes isn't too detailed and moves at a fast yet slow pace so if anything just print out his notes to take notes easier.
do not take this class! and if you do have to, take it with a different professor! his lectures are boring and he's always yelling into his microphone with his loud voice. if you want to pass, I highly recommend attending the SI meetings. 4 exams and final is comprehensive. Iclikers required
Alright Kryder is not a bad professor. He gives you many opportunities to earn EC, like 30pts in total and he drops ur lowest test score. What is difficult is the material you learn in lecture. You have to review a lot in order for you to fully understand. Don't miss any of his classes, or it will be hard for you to understand the lesson.
Everyone says Kryder is hard, but really it's only because you actually have to do the work and study. If you don't think Kryder is helpful then there are always SI sessions you can go to for extra help. Besides that, he's pretty clear in his lectures. Was an interesting class, he yells a lot but mostly because he's really excited about math.
I've taken his class and I know others who have taken his class and we all failed. Then we took Jim Ryan and we all passed with flying colors. Avoid his class. Take Ryan he's easier. My counselor even agreed.
He is an okay teacher. All of his lectures are online so if you miss a class you will be fine. MyMathLab will also help you lot when you don't understand a concept. Really the biggest downside of this class is that it is in the Peter's Education Center, because of this he understands being late and having to leave early which is great.
If you don't understand something. Go to his office hours. He's a really interesting teacher. I won't not take him again. Grades very hard. I would not advise to miss this class even though it's not mandatory. Take really good notes and study super hard for the exams. They are a killer
Very confusing. Not helpful.
Kryder has been my favorite teacher so far. Do the homework, attend SI regularly and go to his office hours! He can be intimidating, but don't let that stop you from getting help! Don't talk during class. Always do the extra stuff he puts up to get ready for the test. Do not wait until last minute!
Moves fast, but there are many resources for help. Very straightforward about what is expected on tests. Read the book and do the homework and practice writeouts and the class is a breeze. Would recommend if you are willing to do the work.
Terrible Class honestly, learned more during the SI sessions & the sessions in the Madden Library, honestly don't ever take him.
Very tough grader. Not compassionate to student who try hard and still dont get good test scores. Not patient either, he can get irritated fairly easily. He is very very frank and candid. He will definitely not bs you. Oh and if you get a 79% in the class he wont think about rounding you up
This guy sucks.
WORST PROFESSOR I'VE HAD. He thinks hes funny and always yell at the microphone. It gets so annoying that I always have to leave 10 minutes due to the fact that I couldn't handle him yelling at the mic for no reason. I never understand anything he even say because he's constantly yelling. Overall, I've understand nothing.
Kryders math 45 was an easy class. As long as you do the online homework and attend his class fairly regularly you should pass. He is very passionate about math and tends to yell when he gets excited and has a lot of quirky jokes funny guy. Tests are easy, lots of extra credit, uses mathlab online, very structured class
HELP! I'm pretty worried after reading all these reviews. I work 10hrs a day and then will be heading straight to his class so i won't be able to attend the meetings or meet him in office hours. This is the only class that fits my schedule. If anyone has any helpful tips please let me know!! It doesn't help that math is my worst subject.
Bad teacher, does not take time to explain what is going on in lectures, expects you to know the material quickly and gives a quiz after every lecture so basically whenever you have class there will be a mini quiz! Do not recommend.
Kryder is a really good teacher. He gives you everything you need to know. Not only that, but he has so much material just waiting for you on his blackboard. Have any questions? He will always be willing to answer them for you and he his very good at explaining things. He also responds to emails super fast. Good and grading and has regular homework
Not the easiest professor but you can pass the class with SI help ! attending class will get you a good idea of material but you need to attend SI to pass!!!
The only reason why people do not pass is that: 1.) Math is difficult for someone and they haven't gone to SI sessions nor his office hours 2.) Laziness He literally posts study guides of past tests that are identical to the ones given on exam days. There are so many extra credit opportunities and chances to earn a good grade in his class.
cool dude, bad instructor.
I loved Kryder.
It was not as bad as people say it is. Just show up every day and pay close attention. There are SI sessions and you can go to his office hours and he helps you out. If you failed, you most likely didn't go to class or you didn't try reaching for help. Math 45 was definitely not your typical math, but it was easy, and I HATE math.
Tries to keep students interested in a subject many are bored with. Studying is very important and there is homework. Drops the lowest test score and if you study the test shouldnt be to hard.
Took Kryder and I aced his class but thanks to the help of SI sessions! ATTEND SI SESSIONS if you want a good grade, the subject is hard when he explains it but easy during si sessions. I did not like him at all, he's very confusing
Avoid taking Math 45 with Kryder if at all possible!!! He is extremely unclear, his explanations make no sense what so ever, and his tests are awfully hard. I am failing this class and wish I would have been able to take it with Ryan instead !!!! Kryder is unorganized, loud, brash, and not a good teacher at all. His lectures are painfully long.
He's awful!!! Really truly awful!!! His explanations make no sense, he gives you no time to draw out the diagrams on paper before he goes through them, he's very fast, loud and brash and his tests are super hard! And there is a ridiculous amount of online homework. He's horrible, I wish I wasn't in his class
He cannot teach, don't take him. I'm currently failing. He expects you to know first hand. He doesn't makes sense at all.
I've always been good at math so I thought I could waltz in and it would be easy. Don't be fooled!!! You absolutely HAVE TO GO TO THE SI SESSIONS IF YOU WANT A DECENT GRADE!!!! They made this class much more bearable.
It was hard to understand him at times. He thoroughly explains everything but he would scream in the middle of lectures. It catches your attention but for the most part, it's distracting/annoying.
If you pay very close attention she should not have a problem, it all depends on you. He grades the test hard, his muiltple choice test are harder than the write outs. I would prefer a different math 45 teacher.
hate how he is in the middle of a lecture teaching and yells out "NO YOU DONT DO IT LIKE THAT" like why would you confuse your students by doing one thing and saying another? you need to pay real close attention he talks a lot about women its kind of awk.. ok class overall
You have to pay attention and attend class to pass. His lectures are not too boring and he makes jokes here and there. You need to study carefully or you won't pass.
Doesn't treat college students like there in college. Takes everything you do personal even if thats not laughing at his jokes. He claims to love teaching calculus but actually seems quite the opposite. Confusing lectures. Get ready to teach yourself. Prior knowledge recommended.
I'm a crim major and math isn't my best subject. I showed up to every class and paid attention. I did not attend a single SI session (which was frequently offered) and still passed with a high A. Drops your lowest exam, I didn't have to take the final. Pretty weird but cool guy I would take him again. Ratemyprofessor makes him seem worse than he is
You HAVE to attend his class to understand this math course. If you pay attention in class and do a little studying outside of class then you should be fine. This is not like calculus or algebra and if I were to describe it, then it is like statistics. He has SI sessions you can go to that will get you some extra help.
Wood gives great lectures but this year, he cancelled a lot of his class. He cancelled two of our speeches and now we have a group project due at the end of the semester and our grade is based off of that. If you do not like group works, then I recommend you not to take this class. He never gave us any persuasion assignments.
Difficult to understand lectures and examples, go SI sessions for help. Do all the online homework. test are multiple choice and written. drops your lowest test grade
He is a great professor and I learned a lot. I see reviews saying "You have to attend class to pass class".Boo-hoo, of course you have to go to class to pass the class and get a good grade. My advice: if you are a lazy person who's used to just passing by without having to ACTUALLY learn something don't take his class the END.
I came from Highschool a straight A student, but this class really messed me up. His teaching style is very confusing. He doesent really show you how to do the problem first, hell show you the wrong way without telling you its the wrong way. Very confusing. I would not recommend anyone take this class.
Have always been good at math but this class absolutely killed me. Do not recommend taking if you are not willing to study and attend SI sessions. the SI sessions will definitely help you out.
He appears serious but I found him quite comical, he tries. Attendance isn't mandatory but I would recommend it because it's easier to understand the material when he explains. He teaches pretty quickly and talks fast but provides many examples, you just have to keep up. PPs are posted on Blackboard. SI sessions are available to those struggling.
He is a good lecturer, issue is that his test are only about 3-7 questions long. He takes a TON of points off your answer if you have something little wrong in the process of work. Big issue, class is only your test grade. I have never struggled in math before this class. Attendance is not required but you should go, just like any other class.
He's very confusing when he lectures. He'll have his back faced the students and it's hard to understand what's he saying. His tests are difficult, and so are the homework. Don't recommend taking him.
Not the best professor. When you ask him for help personally, he will make you feel stupid as if you have no common sense. Small mistake on test lose hella points. On the pro side, the study guides are actually similar to the test. Study the study guides and do your homework. Then, you will probably pass the class easily.
I regret taking this class with Kryder, the way he teaches is really difficult to understand. I do not recommend taking Math 45 with Kryder. Almost everyone I've talked to that had him, failed and regret taking this class with him.
He gives a ton of extra credit for your tests, all homework and quizzes are used for extra credit towards tests. Test are easy just study previous quizzes. Show up to class because he likes things done his way or he marks points of tests. Show all work on test!
I see a lot of reviews saying this class is hard, and if you're that student, I'm sorry but College is going to be a rough ride for you. I didn't study other than doing ALL of the homework and paying attention in class and got an A. And I failed Calculus 1 twice. So this class is easy and his lectures are really good. Attend, do HW and easy A.
You wont pass if you do extra work or pay extra attention in class. He puts up the notes on blackboard, I suggest printing then and just follow along during lecture, will make it easier to understand. DO NOT FALL BEHIND ON HW!! Hw isnt due until exam day but dont wait until the day before to do it
Kryder is definitely an oddball... bht the class was easy overall. Tends to yell a lot even though he uses a mic. Quizzes are generally easy and he gives you some of the answers. Meh.
he's honestly a funny guy. if you pay attention, take notes, do the homework, study, and go to SI at least once every few weeks you will get an A.
Kryder is the oddest guy u will probably ever meet but he was awesome. Super clear on everything. All I did was go to one SI before the test and did all of the practice exams and I passed every test with flying colors. Material is a bit confusing but take advantage of everything he provides for you to pass.
He is the most obnoxious professor I have ever taken. He even gets annoyed when people sniffle in class! He is so specific with every little thing and is not afraid to call you out in class. Overall, the course material is not bad and he does provide good lecture notes. You don't really have to attend his lectures because they are all on Blackboard
He explains things pretty quickly and only goes over them once or twice, but if you go to EVERY class and do the homework along with the class you'll do fine. It helps you have some friends with you in the class to discuss concepts with. Also be careful to show all your work on tests
When he goes over the notes in class he goes pretty quickly so i suggest bringing your laptop or printing them out before hand. He will dock you a lot of points for a simple mistake on tests. I would choose a different professor.
Kryder is the reason I don't wear my seatbelt to class everyday. His lectures are way too fast and the notes are hard to refer back to. He goes over everything once and then blames us when we fail. He puts up charts after our tests to show how many people failed. Usually above 60% of the class fails. If we're all failing, kinda think it's on him.
Perfectionist in every regard, will not tolerate even minor mistakes, either on classwork, homework, or even where you sit in class.
He seems a bit intimidating but he's a nice guy. Best math professor I've ever had. All homework is extra credit. Has practice tests on BB, exactly like the real exams. Easy A.
Can be intimidating but he really is a nice guy who cares about his students. Class is pretty easy but he moves fast on everything and only does one example, two at most. The subject is supposed to be math but it is nothing like high school math. Yells at random times for who knows what reason. Online hw due right before unit exams. SI recommended.
He does give a quiz after each chapter yet hes pretty lenient with his grading. He is kind of moody get annoyed easily by noises he considers annoying but that's understandable. However, he not that difficult show up everyday because missing a class can really get you behind on work. Yet doesn't take to much effort to pass
Make sure to go to class bc of his daily quizlets! Hell post notes on Blackboard so review them the day before yall look at it in class bc he gets through them quick during lecture. GO TO THE SI SESSIONS! SI SAVES LIVES! 2-3 chapters will be grouped into units, so make sure to review things daily bc theres a lot to remember on exams.
Can be very rude and you can get the correct answer on your exam yet get many points deducted because of something minor! And if you try talking to him, he will still say you are wrong. He does give you all the formulas for the exams which makes it easier but its hard to get a good grade when he deducts so many points. I would not recommend him.
The course is easy however Kryder is unnecessarily loud and obnoxious constantly in his classes. Hes rude sometimes and quite inconsiderate. He thinks the world revolves around his class and cries when someone doesnt follow his every instruction because it makes his job harder. Takes AGES to grade exams which is bs. Take a different professor.
ADVICE: -DO the homework, this will help your grade A LOT(100 Points) -Print the notes for every chapter -Trust me, I regret not printing them since the beginning -Look at Previous Exams, because they are really similar to the original one. -Try to attend lecture, raiser to understand -DON'T procrastinate on the HW
The class is pretty easy if you just show up and pay attention. I missed a couple of classes and didn't do alot of homework but passed through my tests with an A. You should probably do the hw though because it's worth alot of points.
His teachings are confusing and misleading. He goes very fast and is difficult to keep up with. Take Jim Ryan.
The worst math teacher on campus. Does not work with students because of a small mistake. The exams are hard and half of it is fill-in and you have to show all your work and your goes into the grade. He yells and talks through a microphone and his class is just him sitting there scrolling through all his notes that are online. Don't waist your time
Go to class, pay attention, and get help if you need it. Not that difficult as most make it seem.
don't take this professor if there are others teaching math 45, you will regret it. he speeds through his lectures, very rude and non understanding. SI sessions were a must for this class or you will fail.
He gives you a lot of resources that will help you on quizzes and tests. Homework is online. If you show up you will do good on the tests and pass his class.
5 unit exams and 1 final exam. All homework and in class quizzes count as extra credit. He drops your lowest exam score.
Professor Kryder is a great teacher for Math45. The only downside is he takes forever to update the grading book and also either takes forever to respond to emails or just doesn't at all. The course is easy yet hard if you don't study and take advantage of all the after class help he has. He makes you work for your grade for sure.
Hes a good professor, I learned quite a lot. However, he is an extremely hard grader and everything you write on the tests matter. He likes it his way and will dock many points if its not exact. Do your homework, worksheets, quizzes, and top hat. Get all the points you can get because I did all that, and wasnt very good on the tests but passed.
Kryder is a tough grader and the course is very intense so if you're looking for something easy don't take him. Taking notes in class is a must in order to pass, record if you don't want to take notes because he goes extremely fast. You have to put in effort to pass. Overall Kryders class is super challenging but very manageable.
Do not take, he is very unclear and rude. He yells a lot. Hardly anyone passes.
Kruger is very passionate about teaching, therefore he does tend to come off a bit strong to certain people. However, if you show up to lecture and do your homework, its an easy A.
Lectures are helpful. He provides chapter notes to help follow along and takes time to answer questions. Does occasionally do TopHat questions to mark attendance and as pop quizzes. Let's you know when to be prepared to tests/exams.
Gives good lectures, and posts every power point he makes on the syllabus. Easy to follow, as long as you pay attention. Homework is a good way to learn, but it is mostly trial and error unless you've been paying close attention and following along in class. Overall, pretty solid professor.
RUN RUN RUN! Not respectful to students, not very clear in lectures, emails and notes are so confusing to read, not flexible in any way. And sometimes just plain weird, take another professor if you can!
Professor Kryder can be nice at times. Don't sneeze or drop your calculator, if you have a runny nose, clean it or he will literally call you in front of the class. He is pretty clear on his work but he is very strict on little things he wants. He sometimes makes you feel dumb when the material is easy. You get 4 exams,1 final and drops low score
Go to class, pay attention, take advantage of everything he gives you and you will pass. The reviews on here scared me, but I shouldn't have been scared. Ended up being my favorite professor that semester.
He is not clear in what he wants from students. Our exam days begin 5-10 minutes late because of how he administers them. He is disrespectful to students, it isnt really a class, it's really being lectured by a parent. Highly do not reccomend.
His notes are online, just be sure to read it and do the homework(online and by hand). His tests are not hard, it's just that the multiple choice is worth a lot of points so if you get it wrong, you may fail his tests. Go to the SI sessions, idk how helpful they may be but it's helpful cuz those who go have a good grade
Professor Kryder is a funny professor. He grades very tough. He has given me a 0 out of 20 points for not putting 2 decimal points on one number in the problem. I had did every single thing right and used the right method but I still ended up with a 0 on that question. Everyday he has " Mini Quizzes" on Top Hat. He also does a quiz for every unit.
Kryder's lectures go really fast so you'll have to work hard to keep up. He's also a tough grader on tests and will mark you down for every mistake you do. There's online homework and worksheets, and don't procrastinate because it's a lot!! It was a pretty tough class but I learned a lot and he helps us review.
This is not a hard class but you have to show up. He is very easy to understand, helpful and leaves you many opportunities to get help outside of this class whether it be SI or office hours/tutoring. The only reason you'd fail is if you don't go and you expect to still get an A.
He's a great professor. Literally show up to class and pay attention, and you will be fine. Your entire grade is tests thats why, and all homework and quizzes are EXTRA CREDIT for your exams. He could not make this class more geared towards your success. Weird, funny guy, and would take again.
Professor Kryder has a good sense of humor along with his knowledge of this course. You must attend his lectures in order to understand what will be on the exams or you won't get a good grade. Just study, attend his lectures, go to his office hours or SI sessions if you need, and you'll pass! There are 4 exams and you MUST take the final!
He's an alright dude with a good sense of humor. Dr. Kryder is a very sarcastic person but his lectures are straight forward and right to the point. Honestly it's the easiest math you'll ever have, it's not even real math. He's pretty cool, but over emphasizes useless announcements and takes too much time to announce them.
Honestly, this was probably the most confusing class I had. Not the content itself but the non-existing help from the professor himself, hes one of those professors that make you feel dumb for not understanding him the first time which is frustrating to deal with. He also inputs the grades in confusing also! Dont take this class, Im begging you.
You'll be able to pass this class, but you have to show up. Even if you miss one day you'll be completely lost when it comes time to take the exam. He's a great professor with a good sense of humor! He's very organized and has notes and even old exam keys/quizzes online to help you study.
Dr. Kryder is honestly terrible at grading. On a 30 point question, you can do everything right but if you forget to put in a specific word, he'll only give you half credit. Plus his homework isn't worth as much and it doesn't really help. He is very rude as well, he yelled one time at 2 female students who were trying to help each other out.
Professor Kryder cares that his students understand the material. I am typically good at math but this class was one of the hardest math classes I had to take. Homework is a big help when trying to understand the material. Overall Professor Kryder cares that his students pass and gives opportunities like dropping your lowest test score at the end.
Professor Kryder gets a lot of heat but he's actually a good professor. This content isn't like any other math content you've seen before but if you study and get help you should be able to pass the class. Kryder's lectures are fast pace but he will slow down if someone asks. If you do need help though there are plenty of free outside resources
Will take off points for the smallest mistakes. Literally the SMALLEST mistakes. If you confront him about it sometimes he will give you points back. Not the best professor, especially during lecture with his distracting behavior, but overall an easy class. You can get through it, but if you could take someone else I might recommend.
he has some deceiving ratings, but this prof knows what he is doing. he wants you to do well. there are online HW (easy), 4 exams and then a final, 4 quizzes. and daily top hat quizzes that are used for extra credit. old exams are posted with keys on canvas so study those since they are similar to the new ones. Study the previous exams, youll be ok
When I first looked at the ratings of this class I was doubtful of taking this class because it had a lot of negative comments but I recommend this class. Go to SI because it really helps. Its not like any other math classes, I would say its easier than any math class you've ever taken just pay attention and attend class.
Kryder is a very straightforward but caring professor. Go to class, take GOOD notes, include all the specifics. There are usually weekly quizzes, 4 exams, and one final. If you pay attention in class, I assure you will pass the quiz and exams with flying colors. His lectures sometimes may be boing but the examples he gives are very helpful.
Math is a hard subject but he explains it well and cares about the students. If you miss class you'll be lost but go to tutoring to get back on track. He is straight forward about everything and never tries to trick you. It's weird math and he explains it very mathematically. He's nice when you go into office hours. You just have to pay attention!
Pretty easy class. He grades you on tophat quizzes, hw , and exams. The hw is pretty easy just time consuming and also helps to understand the work. Exams are pretty much the same as the worksheets
He loads in a ton of work into about two weeks and then throws a exam at you. He yelled at students because they didn't submit the exam due to technical problems and only give students a 24 hour window to do the exams. Isn't lenient at all to move dates if needed unless it is an emergency
Ok so if you sign up for this class the Professor is really good but you will have to: -Follow what is going on in class, the problems are difficult and you will be lost if you don't follow -SI and practice work available -Problems are complex and long -textbook NOT needed -Grading depends on few assigns. so work hard. -Exams have few questions.
Kryder is a good professor his class will be challenging if you don't go. The material can be hard, but lectures are recorded rewatch them. Homework is due morning of exams don't procrastinate! Exams do come quickly after the end of the chapters so if you have any questions don't wait ask in class or office hours he will walk through problems.
Professor Kryder Is neatly organized, smart, and has a good sense of humor. He explains everything thoroughly and it makes sense. Be prepared to study the material outside of class. There is extra help If needed.
Professor Kryder is a great professor who cares about the success of his students. He is very organized and focused. Bought the textbook but he included it within his lectures so not really needed. Lectures are recorded so rewatch topics you didnt understand. The lectures are important because his examples are similar to what will be on the test!
Professor Kryder expects you to understand his material right in the lecture. He can be quiet rude at points and takes off points for the smallest things ever! His lectures when hes explaining makes the material more confusing than what it is, he just goes on and on. He isnt that great but hes the only professor for this course.
Professor Kryder is a tough grader. He expects the students to already know the material and will be upset to repeat himself. Lots of pearson homework... and grades harsh on exams .
Lectures are long, and uninspired. Kryder gets frustrated easily if you don't immediately understand the material. Recorded test reviews are very helpful for studying. The material itself isn't that difficult. Lots of homework, but if you get consistently good grades on the tests you can pass with an A without doing any homework.
(covid) this class has 4 exams and a final. tough grader(takes off points on the smallest things like if you have printed back to back pages(and if he sees the letterings on the other side, he marks off). homework sections are due when the exams is due. class isn't mandatory because of records vids., but it's good to go and learn the materials.
Took this class my freshman year and it is still the worst one I've had to take. Professor was rude at times and was not very helpful. Expected us to know what he was talking about even if we had never done it before. Super confusing and the lectures didn't really help. 0/10
Professor Kryder's class is challenging but rewarding. The material is tough, but he explains concepts well. Attending lectures and using resources like unstuckstudy ai are key. Put in the work and you'll come out with a solid understanding.
