Professor Labedz is one of the best professors I've crossed paths with at UCF. He's very knowledgeable, and you'll never regret having come to class, grading is very tight though, 3 tests and 1 paper mean that one bad grade and you're grade will take a hit. He's very clear, tests are fair. If you attend regularly you'll do well.
I'm literally obsessed with this man. Most amazing motivating professor I've ever had. Coursework isn't simple, but if you attend class and participate you will understand the material perfectly. He takes the class seriously so you need to also. Laughed in every single class, so much fun. I got an A and I am taking him again this semester.
His essays are tough and on every exam. Make sure to read the textbook, and use the study guide. He's understanding and willing to help. He's not bad to look at either :)
Dr. Labedz is one of the best professors I have had at UCF. I took him for Modern Political Ideologies. His tests are difficult and scary, so it is strongly advised that you know everything he talks about in class. He is very clear with his lectures. He is very helpful. He will not move on to another topic until you understand the material. Awesome
You'll never meet a professor more exited to teach. This guy is PUMPED to be there. He describes himself as a political science "FREAK". He can quote massive amount of text verbatim. Class is mandatory, but it's totally worth it. Tests are tough, but fair. Take good notes and you'll get an A. The book isn't necessary.
Fantastic teacher and person. Very clear, fair, and passionate about what he teaches. Also, hes extremely unbiased and is not egotistical unlike many college professors (especially poly sci) that you'll come across. Take notes verbatim and you'll do well, no book needed.
Hands down the best Poli Sci professor at UCF. Received in A in both classes that I have taken with him. Definitely deserves tenure. Take good notes and come to class you will do well on the tests, it really is that simple.
Great teacher 3 essay quizzes, first one what you learned second one application (more challenging) and last one a group exam. No extra credit he teaches from the very basic concept and builds upon that this is awesome because everyone has the same chance to grow and learn.
I can't say it was an easy class - it was definitely challenging but it was also the most rewarding class I've ever taken. It's one of the few classes I've taken where I've actually learned and not just memorized. Hands down one of the best professors at UCF!
Probably the best professor I have had in a long time. What makes this professor so great is that he not only very intelligent but also very passionate about the subject. Just make sure you GO TO CLASS...
Took him twice - once in 2009 again in 2012. Amazing professor - engaging, intelligent, lively, and very dedicated to teaching. He is exceedingly strict on attendance, and you MUST TAKE NOTES - you will fail if you don't. He requires two tests and an optional paper, and he doesn't give extra credit. Study hard and pay attention, and you'll do fine.
I did not care for Dr. Labedz. He's a pretty good professor and explains things well, but his essay tests demand that you regurgitate your notes verbatim, with no deviation. Attendance and participation in his class are MANDATORY. It will kill your grade if you skip just a few times or don't raise your hand enough. I would not recommend him.
His essay tests demand that you regurgitate your notes verbatim. This can be a challenge. One thing missing in an essay can mean a major difference in your grade. Also, group tests severely hurt my grades. My first test I got a 98, the second test was a group test and I got an 80. Attendance is MANDATORY. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BOOKS!
I loved Labedz, so much that I'll be taking him again! No use for the books, great teaching style, and he knows his stuff. His tests are all essay format, which I love, and he has a group test option. Loved his class, got an A! Attendance is mandatory so show up!
Pretty good course overall. He pretty much lectures for the whole hour every time but he doesn't make it too boring. No need to read the books just take good notes. If you (like me) miss class a lot for whatever reason I wouldn't take him. For us he took about 3-4% off of your grade for each day you miss.
Professor Labedz may be the greatest professor I have ever had. He is incredibly knowledgable, fair and entertaining. This is one of the few classes where I learned things that will stay with me the rest of my life. Only issue is attendance is mandatory and an unexcused absence results in 5 points deducted from your final grade. A little harsh.
Dr Labedz is one of the best professors I've had. He is not an easy professor, 3 essay tests and he makes you work for class discussions but you learn so much!
Dr.Labedz will make you work earn your grade. You have to take very good notes and then memorize them verbatim. This is a hard class but if you are willing to take the challenge and put in the hours of studying it will pay off. He's very helpful. If you take this class you'll learn alot.
I'm so sad that I've taken all the classes I can with Labedz! Don't be scared off on the first day if you're a good student, if you're not and you like to skip and not study, then he's not the professor for you. He intentionally weeds out all the bad seeds and you'll be happy you stayed. He's an awesome professor! No need to buy the books.
I don't know how others have liked him, he is pathetic. He acts like a political guru and like he cares about you but is very quick to mark points off your exams. He is very tiresome and dramatic, do not take him, you will regret it.
His lectures are interesting, funny and extremely beneficial if you're actually looking to learn something. If you're not one to come to class, study or really want to learn the material, he is not for you. Textbooks are supplemental to lectures, so, again, if you want to be a competent political science student, take him and read the texts.
He is a very passionate guy about political science and allows you to have a choice in how you are graded. Buying the textbooks are necessary if you want to get an A in the course. Attendance is mandatory and if you miss class, points will be taken off. You must participate in this class because he also takes off points if you don't.
Best PoliSci Professor UCF has.. Shame he doesn't teach more courses. Took Contemp Dem Theory and Modern Poli Ideology got B's because of laziness. You can get an A without buying books.. Best advice, record lectures!! There is a lot of information!! People who fail or dislike his courses are lazy and should not be in college.
This class is not hard, but it is not easy. You will get the grade that you earned, but he is a fair grader. Don't buy the book.
This is the best professor UCF has. Brilliant pedagog committed to students' mastery of the subject. Labedz makes this somewhat dry subject come to life. His lectures are riveting and very effective. Wish could take more courses with him. UCF and the teaching world needs more profs like hime. Bravo, Labedz!
Professor Labedz is the best professor I've had at UCF. What an intelligent man. If you aren't lazy and go to class and pay attention you will do just fine. I made a silly mistake and did not earn an A, but it's definitely possible. He makes his lectures fun, and I actually enjoyed learning in his class. Good looking man so thats a plus !
Labedz is the best professor that I've had so far. He loves what he does and you can tell. He's hard, but it's not an impossible class as long as you put effort into studying. I didn't buy the books for his classes--the books are nice but not vital. However, you should definitely record his lectures. Took him twice and ended with an A both times.
Professor Labedz is the definition of good value if you are looking at how much you learn for how much you pay. He knows his subject backwards and forwards off the top of his head and can clarify any aspect of political theory for you (I hope you like metaphors). You can tell he actually cares about his students learning rather than just memorizing
Three tests make up your whole grade, he deducts points for every absence without documented excuse, and he takes a long time to make his point sometimes. He's pretty nice and enthusiastic, classes get kind of boring at times. He says he is tough, but he wasn't bad at all. Recommend.
I have taken two classes with Professor Labedz. He is an amazing professor. Incredibly intelligent and passionate about political science. The class is difficult; you will need to memorize. 2 tests and that's it. Take this class to truly learn about the topics. Also, only get the books if it's financially convenient. You can pass without them.
I left the classroom every day having actually learned something, rather than just having information thrown at us. Labedz is incredibly passionate and overwhelmingly knowledgable about the topics. If you want an easy A, this isn't it, you'll have to work for it. But he is the best professor I've had at UCF yet. Highly recommend.
He is an amazing professor. Attendance is mandatory. Three tests make up whole grade, they are hard but based completely off lectures so write down every word he says and should be okay. Tough A but should be able to get B if you pay attention. He tries to make everything as clear as possible for every student before moving on. Would take again.
Labedz' is a tough grader and you must show up to every class or else your grade will suffer. But he is also really clear and explains complex information really well. The tests are long but not that hard if you pay attention throughout the semester, take good notes, and read the book.
Great class, very challenging, but not impossible. He really lets you take control of his courses. I learned a lot but did not receive a good grade, probably won't take him again.
Labedz has probably been my favorite teacher while at UCF. His lectures are thought provoking and his classes are 90% class discussion and analysis. This is one of those classes where you get out what you put in. 2 of the 3 tests are essay, but no specified length. As long as you get the point across he does not grade harshly.
Professor Labedz is one of my favorite professors at UCF. He makes sure you understand everything in the class before he moves on. He's also pretty funny and like to use funny examples to help explain his points. There is a lot of information, but he breaks it up into 3 exams. If you work for it, you can get an A.
Labedz is the best professor I've had in my academic career so far. Committed to mass education, he's primarily a community college professor who devotes some of his time to teaching at UCF. He's exemplary at taking complex theory and grinding it down to something everybody can swallow. I wish he taught every political course at UCF.
I LOVE LABEDZ! His classes aren't that hard if you study the notes from the lecture. The tests are usually Essays but as long as you study and define everything throughly in the essay you're fine! SO entertaining and makes a 3 hour lecture not so bad. I've taken 3 of his courses and I wish he would teach all of the Poli-Sci Courses.
DON'T BE AFRAID TO TAKE HIM!!! Some of the reviews on here are a little intense. You are GUARANTEED to leave the classroom each day having learned something new. You will have to work for your grade but his lectures are super interesting and he's awesome. A little intimidating during syllabus week but not bad at all! Take him!!
Take him, very funny very nice he cares about his students. He can be intimidating the first day or two of class because he wants the slackers to drop the class. Getting an A or B is very easily attained just write down what he says and pay attention in class. Three exams so make sure you STUDY I would take him again hes a great Professor.
I took him for Utopia/Dystopia and it was his first time with the course and his expectations were way higher than they should have been. If you take this class I hope that's the only class you're taking because he expects you to know all 8 assigned books like the back of your hand. Some tests are group tests, but they're still hard.
Easily the best professor I've ever had. If you're a poli sci nerd, he's your guy. He's very enthusiastic and animated and I loved going to class. He takes attendance, it's mandatory. Three tests (essays), he gives study guides. Take very detailed notes and review them. Final was MC and that was my worst test score, but you can work in a group.
incredible professor! makes class interesting and fun, thoroughly explains all topics and more than willing to help/clarify if you need it. as a trans student, i was really touched by a particular lecture (on feminism) where he explained difference b/t sex and gender, really made me feel included. have taken 3 of his classes and want to take more
Best professor I've ever had at UCF. Attendance is mandatory but he's such a great lecturer that you'll probably want to show up anyway. Talks to the class; not at it. This is my third time taking a class with him.
Great guy, don't get me wrong. But spare your GPA and don't take this course, or at least not with him. Sloppy way of teaching, confusing, and not substantial material whatsoever. It is a 4000 level course but he assumes that means graduate level teaching. He was a performer in class but determined your grade only in exams. HARD class!
Loved him as a professor, you learn so much, he makes class very entertaining and knows his stuff! Knows about everything polisci/current events you ask him. 3 tests, mandatory attendance, got a B+ on both classes but could've gotten an A if I had studied more.
Not an easy A. I worked quite hard and only ended up with a B+. But I never felt like that was unfair, it's just hard subject matter and I didn't offer up as much time as I could have. Best theory teacher available so might as well take him.
HE IS AWESOME! He will try to intimidate you on the first day and tell you his class is hard, he just does that to push out the slackers early lol. He makes everything very clear, he allows your class to vote on how the grading system works. Gives you many options, meaning not all assignments are mandatory, but you can't miss class bc testslecture
Labedz is by far one of the best professors I have had since I've been at UCF. However he is also one of the hardest. He is a very nice guy and is highly intelligent on the subject matter. I struggled in this class because he does talk fast and doesn't rely on powerpoints or writing notes on the board. Tests are just essays. YOU MUST STUDY TO PASS.
Professor Labedz is simply an incredible instructor. He knows his stuff and he tries his hardest to make it as easy as possible to understand. You HAVE to pay attention to his lectures or you won't pass. If he's ever an option for me to take in the future I will. Three tests, non-cumulative, first two are essay format.
So the Deal with Labedz is that he is hilarious and down to earth, but if you don't pay attention to his lectures, you won't pass the class. He is fair and not overly difficult, and the fact that he cares about his students and his subject really makes learning the material very manageable. He WILL try to scare slackers out in the first two weeks.
Great teacher so long as you are interested in the subject. if you're not interested you will regret taking this course. 3 exams all essay you decide the prompt from the options he gives you. you will not need the book except for the last exam which will be a group mc exam for the first portion of the exam and then a essay which no one stays for.
Class consists of two essay tests and one final group final. If you listen and take notes you're more than okay on the tests but the final exam was very difficult. I loved his lectures and class but even getting both As on exams didn't get an A in the class due to the final. Amazing professor and would recommend if grades isn't a a huge deal to you
Fun class. Labedz makes the subject interesting. He always teaches with enthusiasm. Tests weren't too bad. just make sure you're taking notes in class. We had class outside once which was pretty cool. I'd take him again for sure.
Professor Labedz is one of the most knowledgeable professors I have ever had. It was the best class I have probably ever had. The professor can explain the in's and out's of every theory taught in the course. He is humorous. He is also a very tough grader. Definitely get both books, they are necessary. Show up for every lecture and take notes.
I highly, highly recommend this professor IF you're interested in the subject matter he's teaching. You'll walk out of class knowing something new every class. He's engaging in his lectures and really takes time to answer questions. Even though I didn't get an A, I'd definitely take him again.
Amazing professor, if you attend class and pay attention in lectures you shouldn't have a problem. He is a really tough grader but its good because you actually learn a lot that you will never forget. I will take this class again if I had the chance to. Exams are essay questions and very lengthy. One of the best poliSci courses taken at ucf!!
Labedz is the best lecturer I've had. Even in a class of over 70 people, he manages to speak at such an individual level. He doesn't dumb down the topic but has metaphors that really help you understand the material. There are 2 exams, one optional paper, and attendance that make up your grade.
He really loves the sound of his own voice. Was a 3 hour class and he used up every second of it. By no means an easy class - TONS of reading & lecture heavy. Of the choices for POT professors, he's the only one that won't make you want to quit college, so take him. 4 exams, have the choice of essay or MC. Test 1 (Plato) do the essay, 2-4 do MC!
I have never learned more in a class than I did with Dr Labedz. This man puts so much passion into what he does.
Awesome professor by far my favorite. Took for him political ideologies as well. One of the very few professors you actually take something away from.
2 tests - essay midterm and final is with a group, you have to read quotes and then tell him what the ideology is. He's clearly very smart and knows his stuff; if you write notes of his lectures then the book isn't necessary (it's also the driest reading ever). Took him for Utopia's before - both hard classes, but really enjoyed his lectures.
Entirely lecture-based (plus attendance is graded) so I don't recommend skipping. Two books, the quotes one is important to read for the final; the other book is mostly covered in the lectures. He is a great lecturer, it's easy to pay attention. Take notes. One mandatory paper, one optional paper, essay midterm, and group final. Pay attention A
Professor Labedz honestly was my favorite professor from Fall 2017. I took him for Political Theory and I am currently taking him again for Ideologies Spring 2018. His lectures are amazing, he always parallel's real-life relatable things to make the content more understanding. He does not take slack. He doesn't accept half-hazard work. You work.
Amazing professor!! Lectures are very interesting and entertaining and you must go to class but he's a genius and will learn more from him than any other professor! The class is graded based off how you decide it to be so it's very open! Not an easy A but if you study and go to class you could definitely get an A!
Labedz takes his work as an instructor extremely seriously; more seriously than his research and other Faculty Responsibilities. His passion towards teaching is unmatched, and that is reflected in what you learn in lecture. He is the best professor I have ever had, period. 90% of test material is based on the lecture. Clear study guides are given.
Labedz is the most knowledge professor in the political science department. He is passionate & well informed. A must take for poli sci.
Professor Labedz is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's very passionate about the subjects he teaches and he encourages class participation in order to make sure all of his students are engaged and that they are retaining the information. He only gives tests, so if you aren't a great test taker, you won't pass.
Labedz is in all honesty the best professor I've had in my time at UCF. Each absence is 5 full points off your final grade and you get to decide what assignments, tests, or papers you do. You have a number of options for what assignments you can do, but be warned that the class is graded off anywhere between 100-200 points total. Take him!
Professor Labedz is by far the best teacher i've had in my educational career. This isn't an exaggeration either. The class is centered around two tests and a optional paper. The first test is a writing style essay exam. The second is a 25 question exam based on the readings. He takes attendance and all the info needed to pass is from his lectures.
This class taught by Labedz will demonstrate vividly how things operate politically in America as well as other countries. It is truly opens up ones field of thinking. The class is graded on three tests and attendance. The first two is a writing style essay exam (go to class/good notes if you wanna pass) and the final is based on your readings.
Labedz is the best prof I've ever had. He cares so much about what he's teaching, but most importantly cares that his students understand. He will go above and beyond. Definitely not an easy A, and you HAVE to listen to his lectures, but he's interesting and makes it worth it.
Test are essays. Great at lectures but he is way too tough of a grader. Takes points off for little reasoning and the final was tough. Take him to learn if you dont care about your gpa
Professor Labedz genuinely loves teaching, which makes him a great professor. He is funny and a great professor. The class itself isn't hard, it just requires a lot of effort. Tests are based off of his lectures mostly, and you are only graded on the midterm and final which was pretty nerve wrecking. Lot of pressure, but you'll learn a lot.
I have never taken a course with a more passionate professor. He really cares about teaching and making sure his students understand the concepts. That being said, he is a very tough grader who can tend to get off-track for long periods of time in his lectures.
Labedz is such a great Professor. Clearly loves what he teaches and will be very accessible to you after class. Seems intimidating at first but as long as you listen to his lectures you should be fine, but remember to listen and study his notes, youll need it.
Dr. Labedz is hands down the best professor at UCF. His teaching style is amazing, he keeps you interested and on the edge of your seats, and you also learn so much! There is a good amount of reading books in this class, however they are considered "masterpieces". If you have not taken a class of his, you are missing out a great amount.
Super fun and engaging lectures, attendance is absolutely mandatory and you lose 5 points off your final grade for each unexcused absence. 3 exams and a small participation grade are all you get. One of my favorites
I can't speak highly enough of Labedz. TAKE HIM. he is funny & engaging. The 3 essay tests are based solely off his lectures, even though he says he pulls from the textbook, he doesn't. Go to class, pay attention, take good notes, and you will pass. No homework, unless u do read the books. He makes a boring topic into a great lecture, he is great!
Best professor i've ever had! Lectures are so interesting and captivating, and he lets the students have a say in certain aspects of how the course is run. Show up to class and take notes and there's no way you wont pass! I brought my laptop and typed whatever he said and got a 96 and 100 on the two exams. Wish every professor was like him. TAKE!!!
This man loves his job and will make you want to come to class. (especially because its super strict) I have taken two of his courses and they're almost the same. A few papers throughout the semester and then a final one. He gives you all the info you need if you take good notes. Theres no homework so its super easy to get an A.
Labedz is strict in the sense that it works for college. His courses are not easy but they're not an overkill. He's very passionate about his job and knows what he is talking about. His Political ideology & Dem. theory classes were eye-openers to me. attendance is mandatory
If u want to fluff your GPA or if your struggle w writing/understanding macro political concepts, this may be difficult. You want to learn something? Take Labedz. When you do, you won't forget him or the material. Best political science teacher that UCF has, and they're fortunate to have him. My only gripe is I have no classes of his left to take.
Would not recommend Labedz for this class. We spent about 2 weeks going through the introduction/syllabus material and the rest of the content for the semester was very rushed. His teaching style can be a bit harsh. He does give students a lot of flexibility with how they will be examined.
I loved Professor Labedz, at first, then I took his class again. He grossly underestimates the intelligence of his students, this leads him to use dozens of 30 min long examples to explain middle school level topics. he spent 20 minutes talking about power puff girls to say the legitimate use of violence is the most important characteristic of gov.
I respect Doctor Labedz, he cares about the subject that he is teaching, and he does not treat students like infants. This simultaneously the best and worst thing about him though, as he expects the best from you and is very a very punishing grader. Take him if you want to be challenged, but stay away if you are looking for an easy grade.
His lectures are intriguing and very important. It's usually three tests and a project
This man will go on 30-minute rants about what makes brownies, the power puff girls, or soup/stew but by the end of it, you will understand and remember the components of what makes a Democratic Society, the use of political violence, and societal cross/cleavages. One of the best UCF has to offer, always a joy, but be prepared to work for an A.
The king of the PoliSci department at UCF. His lectures are really interesting, but you must pay close attention to detail. I didn't read either of the required books, but I attended every class and got an A. Your grade consists of only 2 exams. Hardest and best class I've ever taken!
My favorite professor. If you cannot learn by lecture, do not take. Professor Labedz explains concepts very well, and goes over previous concepts every class to cement information. Two essay exams and one final exam, grading for essay exams could be considered tough but you just need to explain and include all relevant information. A great guy.
First and foremost I want to say that this man enjoys teaching. Strangely I have to point that out, I feel that every professor should love teaching, but that is not what happens in the real world. However this man loves talking, teaching, challenging our thoughts, and loves to make us laugh every once in a while. I wish I could write more.
Dr. Labedz is inspirational, engaging, and well-read. 4 tests, 1 paper disguised as a project, 5 assessments total. 10pts participation. The caveat is that he lets the class vote on the grading schema, and he lets the student choose their exam modality, i.e., essay, MC, MC group, etc. Also, you only have to choose and submit 4/5 assignments.
Great pedagogical style. Good at lecturing, analogizing, and giving feedback. 4 assignments for the semester. Lots of reading in this class. On the primitive philosophical and utopian works. Not too bad, at all. Participation gets rewarded b/c he instructs using the socratic method. Lets students choose their test format between essay and multi.
Gradebook just consisted of a midterm, final and an optional essay. If you're not good at writing essays or memorizing information w/o referencing I wouldn't take. He wasn't bad though!
This guy somehow manages to make political philosophy not only bearable but interesting, to the point where his class is the one you look forward to at the end of the day. 4 exams, the first 3 you can choose between essay and mc, and one optional project if you wanna skip one of the exams. Took him based on RMP reviews and didn't regret it.
dont need the textbook at all, this guy is truly passionate about his job and knows soooo much. you will learn so much from him. although you cannot miss class, tests are from all lecture. 3 exams are your whole grade . if you dont like memorizing and writing dont take. not an easy a grading is kind of weird sometimes but take if u want 2 learn
He goes on tangents on his lectures that makes him fall extremely behind. We took our second exam a month after we were originally scheduled to. He gives you the option to take an essay portion or multiple-choice portion of the test. Both are excruciating and the multiple-choice are made to be confusing and difficult. Impossible amount of reading.
Best polisci professor at UCF!!! Clearly explains concepts and exams are a little intimidating at first, but once you take it you'll know what to do next time.
Currently a sophomore in college and this is my third time taking Dr. Labedz. He is one of the best UCF has to offer. However his class is not easy, if you do not want to put in the work for your grade (go to class, ask questions, etc) than do not take his classes. He truly changed the way I learn and I wish I could take him all four years!
Probably one of the best professors I have ever had. I have never met someone so dedicated to teaching and making sure their students actually learn something of value. Plus, he's super funny and active in his delivery so the lectures are interesting. However, if you skip class you will NOT do good. Listening to lectures and note taking are a must.
I love this professor! His lectures are long and get boring at times, but you will 100% learn something new in his class if you pay good attention. He uses lots of metaphors and stories to try and convey the material to students which makes it so much easier to remember. Exams are fully lecture based and the study guide is the best way to prepare.
I absolutely loved this class. Labedz gets straight to the point and his stories are so funny. He is able to make real-life connections to the theories we learn and he hold his students to a very high standard. Two essay-exams and you choose between topics given and 1 final exam paper. A very rewarding class, will be taking him again.
Show up to class, pay attention, and take good notes. Very interesting lectures that kept me engaged the whole time. He makes analogies to help with understanding and provides context to the material, because it can sometimes be difficult to understand otherwise. For sure taking another one of his classes.
I seriously cannot speak highly enough about this man. He is so passionate and intelligent with his field, and wants to share that passion with his students. Only a midterm, optional essay, and a final. Everything on the tests are delivered in his lectures, and I never read the books. Go to class, take notes, and you'll be golden. Please take him!!
Labedz is an amazing professor and he gives great lectures. For this class it has a lot of assigned reading and you are graded on 4 tests. So it can be difficult but his lectures are worth going to class for.
Honestly, I have enjoyed all his lectures. He is truly passionate about teaching and he loves political science. I would highly recommend this class if you want to learn something new, you will not regret it.
His classes are not difficult at all. Currently taking my second class with him- his 4000 level class -and have an 89 after our first assignment. He only gives two or three assignments in all his classes. If youre a good test taker, take this class. One of the easiest yet most interesting classes ive ever taken. Labedz is fair, funny, and kind.
Labedz is a great guy, makes complex topics very simple, and is super relatable. Only issue is the entire grade is 2-3 things, which makes little to no forgiveness if you have a rough day on one of the exams.
I would take him again, he is very interested in his material. Class was broken in 3 assignments. One midterm, one essay (optional) and final (half optional). Did not use the texts books once. Never miss a class, very hard to catch up. Also, he likes to play jokes on his students during exams, so don't take it personally (he did make me cry though)
Extremely knowledgeable. He teaches with passion for the subject and actually cares about his students and their learning. Very funny as well. The only three grades are a midterm exam, optional 4-6 page essay, and a final exam. Rather tough grader but I recommend taking him. He will teach you a lot.
This professor is nothing short of outstanding and knowledgeable. I just don't do well in just testing for grading and audio based lectures. I wouldn't take the class again though just so my GPA doesn't suffer. I went to his office hours and did the extra assignment just for my grade to get to a C, and I had all A's in my other classes.
Hilarious professor. Very few grades and the exams are difficult but doable if you don't skip class. Don't show up sleepy- you need to pay attention to every word! He tells you exactly what he wants on the exams.
When it comes to the class itself, there are only three assignments, which are the midterm, an optional essay, and the final exam. You can tell that Dr. Labedz is passionate about the subject and truly enjoys what he does. Despite the few assignments, they are very difficult, so be sure to go to class and takes notes, which the exams are based on.
He is my favorite professor at UCF. As long as you go to every class and take really good notes you'll do fine on the tests. The midterm is essay based and comes straight from lectures, the final is multiple choice and optional essay that also comes from lectures. Extra credit 6 page essay that is easy if you understand the material. Dont need book
He is my favorite professor at UCF. As long as you go to every class and take really good notes you'll do fine on the tests. Everything comes from his lecture. He does have an optional essay at the end of the semester. As long as you keep detailed notes on his lectures you will do fine on the exam and the paper. Final exam he has 2 options.
Great professor, showing up to lectures & taking detailed notes is the only way to do well. He's very passionate and well versed in everything. Lectures are engaging & can be interactive if you want to participate. Very straightforward with his expectations if you wanna do well. Midterm is in essay form & Final is mandatory mc & optional essay.
Whole class is just 4 tests and 1 project and you can only choose to do 4 of them. Assigned a ton of books but you dont really have to read them. Class is fine if you like the source material and want to hear someone yap about it for 80 minutes. Lectures were a waste of my time and take up every class. Goes on many tangents. Would not take again
Professor Labedz is a knowledgeable and engaging lecturer. Attendance is crucial, as the exams are based entirely on his lectures. While challenging, the class is manageable with diligent note-taking. I found unstuck study's study tools very helpful for preparing. Would recommend this class for motivated students.
RECORD AUDIO FROM LECTURES! There were long lectures, he graded only 2 exams the entire semester and gave a few points for participation. I made recordings and got into some study groups with other students, yet I barely passed. Luckily I participated or I wouldn't have passed. There were major storms which caused him to give supplemental reading.
You need to go to every class and pay attention. He has books that you should read before class so that you can be prepared. The tests are easy as long as you pay attention in class and read the books, they are open book if you wish to use it. I love this professor, but he is very strict so just do what you're supposed to do and you'll be fine.
The only assignments are three exams, you need to go to lecture and take really good notes that is the only way you will pass. You dont have to read the book but DO NOT miss lecutre, everything on the test comes from lecture.
Great professor and very knowledgeable. He's a strict grader, and there is no extra credit, but I would take a class with him again. Very good at teaching, but you have to work for your grade. The entire grade is based on three exams, all essay style. You WILL fail if you don't attend lectures. Did break down out of fear sometimes😹 But he's great.
