awesome lecturer great teacher, professional, his tests are very hard
insert your comment here.
Most students will find him hard, but VERY informative and easy to follow. Just gotta work in the class. Loves teaching and answers all questions. If you're a slacker, don't bother. If you wanna learn something, take this class!

First, read the readings. I didn't read enough of the text and could have easily got a higher grade if I had. I really appreciated his interest in the government and liked his lectures. Others have told me they felt he was extremely boring....
Do the study guides he gives you and read the text. If you are a good learner and attentive, you'll do well... If not, leave early!
labedz is a good guy overall, he says he's "hard but fair" which i agree with, pay attention, read the stuff he gives you and study the guides near finals and you should be ok. definately not hte easiest prof in the world tho
He was the worst teacher I ever had. This guy just blabs about any other government but America's. How ironic it was supposed to an AMERICAN government class. He lowers your grade if you miss any classes. He shouldn't be teaching.
Awful. He's very hard to follow, I think he likes to hear himself talk. Don't take him!!!!
HE IS VERY HOT, HE IS WELL ORGANIZED, OUTSPOKEN AND PROFESSIONAL. THIS MAN IS A GREAT PROFESSOR, HE MAKES U WANT TO GO HOME AND STUDY. IF U WANT AN EASY A DONT TAKE HIM. IF U ARE A WELL ORGANIZED PERSON WHO STUDY AND PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS U WILL PASS&quo
He is hot and teaches well. He is strict and lateness is a great deal. Slackers don't take him for you will fail. Background knowlegde is required in order to write his papers and get good credit.
HORRIBLE!!! DROP THE CLASS WHILE YOU STILL CAN
Please all of you that said that he was very nice and that he was hot... Please.. This teacher makes you feel like crap whne he uses his big terminology of words and on top of that he's so cocky. I bet he practices his class speeches over and over!!
He does not give you an idea what will be on the test. Passed class with a D =/
Doctor Labedz Speaks clearly and presents information in an organized way. However, you have to earn your grade in his class. I got an A, so it can be done. You just got to work your butt off.
You will understand Government if you take him. He makes a lot of sense and uses examples in lectures. Not unreasonable with tests and coursework. I would take him again.
this is the kind of professor that you either love or you hate. i happen to think he's very knowledgeable and structured. true, his class is a challenge, but i promise that you will gain an immense knowledge of international politics as a result.
Took him...thank god i got a B! but little catch, i missed TWO days for a family hardship out of town...and he gave me a D, and now i'm taking POS2041 over again!! Take Mark Logas, he's awesome & funny...Labedz is def. hot, but learning is more important!
Labedz is one funny guy. He is also completely into what he does and what he knows. He is very structured and very informative. Slacking isn't a good idea since his exams are pretty tough (watch out for essay questions, ouch!)
If you hate answering essay questions, dont take this class!
Great teacher, He is challanging, but he is Very clear and able to understand. Always willing to stop and re-cover what you might have missed. stern, but fair. you will learn a lot from him.
Excellent professor. Listen and takes notes and if you dont understand something ask him and he will explain it. He is very nice.
He is an excellent teacher! He might be hard but he knows what he is talking about. Pay attention and take notes because all of his notes are exactly what he puts on his tests.
This guy is HOT!! He is challenging and his tests can be difficult, but just ask him to clarify things and he will. Do what you have to do and you will do well.
His class is so hard and boring, do not take him, but take him if you have nothing to do besides staying home and study all day
Awesome guy, but I definitetly agree with some of the other comments - if you're not willing to put in the time, this class will suck for you. The essays are especially challenging, but if you just come to class, you will definitely learn something.
Excellent teacher! You will work hard with this professor but it pays off! I don't think I've ever learned as much in a class as I did with this guy. He is very well spoken and fair but expects hard work from his students.
Dr. Labez is one of the greatest teachers i have ever had. Not only is he the nicest person but he uses some great examples in class to make sure the information sticks with you.
i HAD a 4.0-I got my first B in that class-it was the HARDEST i've ever worked but i learned more from him and anyone else in my life! VERYVERY smart- he is patient and will go over stuff for you-he DOES give great examples-he is difficult but VERY SMART
This man rocks! He's the most knowledgable teacher I've ever had. He's nice, he's funny and curses sometimes in his lectures. He really expands your horizons. Tests are fairly tough, but he always gives good study guides to prepare for them.
He is a great teacher, go to class, write down every word he says and you'll do fine, and most importantly, you'll learn more than you've ever learned. I could turn the guy into an SNL character, "indeed" you will learn to impersonate him.
This class is the hardest class i have ever taken. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get an "A" no matter how many hours you put into studying. You'd have to be a genius to get better than a "C". If you have him you better be prepared to study every
Smart guy! he knows his stuff. Test are hard yet you can manage if you study.
A super duper hottie!!
He is very hard. Impossible to retain everything he tells you. You'll have 5 pg notes by the end of class. Sometimes you don't know where he got his questions from. Take John Tripowski for an A+ If I spelled that right, for a fun class.
He's good to look at, but other than that hes a hard teacher. His tests were impossible!!! I wuld notcommend him for political science.
He's a great teacher! he really cares about what he teaches and who he teaches! His examples are wonderful, but it is very hard to get an A. He's a great teacher and you'll learn a lot but if you're looking for easy then go with a different teacher!
all i can say is "talk, talk, talk" bring a type recorder if you can, cause there's no way to get all that infomation down as fast as he spits it out!!! he's tough i barely passed so be careful
This has been my hardest class, ever! If you ask him to repeat something he will until you get it. He does lecture alot but you will be able to tell what he will use for the essay part of the test. Use the study sheets they really help.
Awesome awesome teacher. Actually makes a boring subject interesting. Take him if you like to learn new things and STUDY. Hard class, but worth it due to the amount of knowledge I left the class with it. If I was him I'd go make big bucks at a big U.
If you are lazy and want an easy class, do not pick him. You will learn more than in any other class you will ever take. I got a C here but learned more than if I was to get an A anywhere else. If you put in work it will pay off.
great teacher for those who get sleepy in class. i was able to dose lightly and still listen to everthing he said. i got A's on the tests. you MUST take good notes and read the text book, he keeps a copy on reserve it you don't want to buy it.
Didn't take have him in class, but all I can say is HOTTIE
DO NOT TAKE HIM . He is really hard. You have to listen and take notes at the same time. DO NOT TAKE HIM
I didn't read others ratings before I signed up for the class, so I didn't know that he was going to be hard. Yes, he is hard, because he teaches the class like it's at a ivy league school. He goes over a ton of material each class. If you don't take notes, you will fail the class.
this was the hardest class i have ever taken. i passed with a D and i took notes & paid attention in every class. i have never learned so much from one person in my life though! he is like a book! plus he is really nice eye candy!-)
very hard but easy to understand.
The hardest class I have ever taken in my life, and the 'B' I got was the hardest worked for ever. He is a brilliant man, I learned so much, I even am majoring in IR at UF because of him, that's how interesting I thought his class was. Oh yeah, and he is BEAUTIFUL!!! Ladies, take this class.
Very hard class. Lectures the whole time and uses powerpoint as a guide. No homework, but tests were horrible. Only take this class if you REALLY REALLY like US. Gov
Dr. Labedz is a trip. He speaks his own language and you MUST pay VERY close attention. Will not tell you what he is looking for with the papers until after you turn them in. Has a great sense of humor. Ask him to explain the rules of football. (leather apparatus?) Highly recommend. I got an A.
I really enjoyed the class and would definitely recommend it. I would have liked to take another class with him. My only concern was the small number of points- 140 total- that left little room for mistakes.
Dr. Labedz is a great teacher that raises the expectations of students. 140 points for the semester is TOUGH with his no extra credit available or reviewing of papers before submission policy's. It's an example of life beyond Valencia C.C. & not for the faint at heart. 3 papers and 2 tests.
If you want to learn and succeed in other classes, then I highly recommend you to take one of his classes. If you, however, just want to get an easy A or still being a high school student, then you don’t even try to register for his classes.
He's an awesome prof. I 've never learned so much in one semester. Super educated. Knows his material inside out. I got a D in his class and very proud of it. This is what a prof. is all about. If you want to learn...take his class. If not...why bother. Very staight foward and to the point.
Tends to humiliate students who participate in class discussions. A tough professor although well educated. Class is all lecture accompanied by power point notes and examples. Students are responsible for writing two five page debate papers, 1 ten page newspaper project, and only 2 tests. HARD!
Wow!extremely hard B in a class, but what a pleasant view he makes.Good times!!!
Labedz is not hot nor insightful. I was let down by his elf-like appearance and even more let down to realize what a jerk he is. Everything is analyzed till he's killed it with boredom. Its week three and i've fallen asleep two times already during his lectures. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Very difficult class, but that's not a bad thing. I learned so much, but I had to work for it. Probably one of the most challenging courses that I've taken at VCC. He is highly educated. My only complaint is that you only have 140 points to work with. He is so hot! If you like a challenge, take him.
two words BORING and HARD
first off, Elves aren't hot. Secondly, his class is not fun and he's not funny. Take his class if you plan on committing acts of harm, becuase you'll want to stab yourself in the face after each class.
He is very educated and interested in government. It is a lecture based class and attendance is mandatory. Missing class will affect your grade. You do have to work to receive a good grade in thos class.
HARD AND BORING!! DONT TAKE HIS CLASS
Take his class and you will learn things u never thought u would wanna learn about in Int'l politics. He drills the stuff in ur head and there is no way u can sleep in his class. his classes are lecture based and essays... so grap a pen and tons of paper, his class is no joke but its fun
Great professor! The best at Valencia. If you want to take an easy teacher or an easy course do not take him but if you actually want to learn something take his class! He is very intelligent and will help guide you along if you need it. Must take professor and class for political science majors.
Very very hard professor. Only C for this semester. He is very unclear in his lectures and does not know how to help students. He should teach honors course not regular because his requirements are for honor course. Overall, hated his class.
This was probably the hardest class I have taken (worked hard for the B) but the most that I have learned! The essays and tests are hard but this class is made to make students think! Take this class if you actually want to learn a thing or two about International Relations.
To sum it up, If you have an intrest in Int. politics, you will love this class, I learned an awful lot in this class, you may find it difficult if you are not interested politics. 2 tests which are fairly difficult, but there are some choices on esay questions. This is definetly not a class that you want to start assingments last minute.
Hard class, but you learn a lot. This is a class ONLY for those very interested in international affairs. I worked hard for a high B and I am a A student normally. He tries to scare you into thinking he's harder than he is. Come to class, take good notes, and start early on the papers and you'll do well. Not for the faint of heart. He's very hot.:)
Great class for those that enjoy this type of material. Will be boring to those who do not. Take it all in, there is a wealth of information and you will regret not paying more attention. Don't be lazy, take it.
ADULT. You have to be an adult in his class because that's how he treats you. Be responsible and pay close attention. Uses an overhead outline (take good notes!) Provides useful and accurate studyguides. You can tell he's very emphatic about the subject- try to catch it and you'll do well. Make it a drudgery and it gets hard fast. Loves Reeses.
His tests are nearly impossible and you HAVE to bring a tape recorder to class. Talks really fast about everything so dear God don't fall asleep cause its all on the test. If you pay attention and listen to his examples youll be okay, otherwise your screwed. Even if you dont study but listen in class you can manage a C.
This guy is a machine; I swear he has all of his powerpoint presentations completely memorized. He definitely knows his stuff and commands respect as a teacher, though the predictable daily lesson pattern can get a little boring with the 3 hour class.
he wasn't a bad teacher at all if you can learn from lectures. ..and if you can keep from staring ;)
Simply put, the guy was a great teacher. I'd have preferred him to make it a bit more challenging, but oh well.
the first day of U.S. politics he talked about Germany. how does that make sense? luckily the next class our professor was switched. i've only heard that he's a hard teacher, but i had one day with him and would never enroll in one of his classes again.
He looks great in khakis;)....Hot Hot but it is painful to hear him speak, very intelligent but he does not teach at all, it is a written script off the power point. he has high standards but does not teach at a high rate, I would not recommend his class if your intrested in learning about politics
Very hard class. He talks way too fast, if you can't take notes at a thousand words per minute you'd better record his boring lectures. He does have a few power point notes. He doesn’t even have to look at them; he has it all in his head. Also, watch out for the exams, they are killers.
handsome guy...but that's about the only thing that kept me coming to class. He's very boring, and he makes the class so challenging that it's hard not to give up. It's almost like he wants to confuse you, and ruin your GPA. I haven't learning anything about international relations except for, "why we study it." take a different professor.
Prof. Labedz delivered clear and poignant lectures. The material was very interesting to read about and listen to. Do plan on doing outside research in the library for topics not covered in depth in the text. The debate papers and final project are tough. Exams are easy. No extra credit, 1 pt curve on exam. Relatively easy to earn a B/hard A
Labedz is a very hard professor. His course only consists of exams, so if you are a student who does not do well on exams I would not recommend him.
AWFUL.
Good luck, you have to teach yourself more that he actually teaches you in order to pass the class.
Dr. Labedz is fantastic. You must come to class, and you must take good notes. The exams are difficult, but earning a good grade is very rewarding. Arguably the best teacher at VCC.
If your major is in Political Science, do yourself a favor and take his class. He's extremely well-spoken and knowledgeable, but it's not an easy class, so slackers consider yourselves warned! He's respectful, methodical and disciplined. Overall, a well-stuctured course with a truly dedicated professor. Two thumbs up!
I loathed every moment of Professor Labedz's class. He is a smart guy, but he expects way too much from his students, to the point that his class becomes a ridiculous joke. For the sake of your GPA take another professor, any professor. I would never take him again, nor do I advise any one else to do so.
The "BIGGEST ASS THERE IS DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS" he talks to fast, he dosen't help you to do good in his class. His class is "BORING".
Labedz, the worst teacher I've had by far. It's truly sad that someone, so smart can be such dickhead.
First of all, Dr. Labedz is married with three children. He is intelligent, but he does not know how to communicate his ideas to people less acquainted with political science.Ultimately,if you like to ask questions and discuss topics this is not the class for you. If you simply like political science and ****s Labedz is your man!
horrible.
Nothing is ever good enough for him. The class is all lecture, he does not involve the student. He has a bad attitude and he acts like he doesn't care. He barely gives people A's. I would say that he is a bad teacher.
Dr. Labedz's class was difficult and boring. I think he intentionally made it that way. In my class he used had too irrevelant examples and lacked compassion when students did not understand him. I found his grading scale to be bias and skewed. My advice take another teacher by doing so you can pass the class and still mistakes. Don't take this man
What a nutcase. If you're not a poli-sci major, don't take this class. He's very, very demanding of students. It seems as if he thinks his class if the only class you're taking. He seems very arrogant, and though he's cute, his general attitude makes him ugly. Only take his class if you have something interesting to offer him...like contacts.
He seems depressed or stressed out or something because he is very detached from the classroom. You will learn but it will not be an enjoyable experience.
Excellent lectures. You must do independent research on topics not fully covered in class. Very hard to get an A. A B is not too impossible. Exams and writing assignments are quite challenging.
Like everyone said, he's not easy. There are 3 reports and all are described on the 1st day. People just need to understand that he's 100% honest on the 1st day. Most profs say it will be hard and then water it down. He does exactly what he says - follow directions and you'll be fine but don't expect to be coddled like in other classes.
awful professor, take someone else. this class is overwhelmingly difficult.
awful! drop while you can.
I only took this class because it was required and figured I'd get another Honors course out of the way. Dr. Labedz is a VERY good professor. Although he seems to be a "machine" at times since he knows his PowerPoint presentations like the back of his hand, he is very helpful. Slackers beware - he will not baby you.
When a professor spends the first 2 weeks of class warning slackers to drop, you know it's gonna be a tough course. While this course was fairly difficult, Labedz knows his stuff and knows how to teach it well. If you slack at all, or miss more than a couple of days, you will fail. However, if you pay attention and take notes, you'll do fine.
Calls himself "Dr." Labedz if this tips you off to his personality. He is a great teacher, maybe a nice guy, but a control freak. Must document absences (he thinks you're "lying and at the mall") or he'll deduct pts from your final grade! If you take him, show up take good notes & study for tests to get an A. There's only 1 assignment and it's easy
His assignments were always unclear. I never knew WHAT to do for any of them. His tests were very difficult as well. Certainly not an easy, or enjoyable class for that matter. Take something else if you need a humanities, this is for serious political majors.
For those of you who like to complain, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. This is a professor with some cojones. A professor who doesn't piddle around and give out extra credit and treat students like children. In addition, he's a scholar -- it took a lot to earn that PhD, something not all have.
dr labedz is COMPLETELY honest on the first day -- you won't find a harder teacher. that being said...his lectures are awesome! very interesting and he's extremely well versed. just remember he has a doctorate for a reason folks. went to his office for help once...VERY helpful. extremely hard but very rewarding if you pass. i got a C
Professor Labedz is good in his own way. He doesn't give extra credit like some of the other Gov. professor's do. I earned an A in his class and his tests are hard, but if you study and pay attention to his lectures you should do okay. If you are lazy and want someone to baby you, then don't take his class. If you want to learn, then take it.
Labedz is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He made the subject interesting and definitely knows what he is talking about. He does not give you BS and there are only two tests and one project. If you are interested in international politics and can handle sitting, listening, and taking notes every time you meet, take this class.
A mechanical Woody Harrelson look-a-like...you will learn but its a painful process. Expect your grade to be a letter below whatever you normally get.
Unless you are a political science major, don't take this class.
His sort of complicated yet simple personality is a bit confusing. He's nice but to the point. His course was confusing at times just like him. His test are hard and it seems no matter how hard you study you will never get an A. I never did, finished with a B. I was surprised by the way. It's like a roller coaster ride never knowing what your final grade will be.
I took him over the summer and I duno if its cuz we had so much material in so little time, but his teaching was really cool and kept me interested but his tests were hard cuz he didn't explain half the crap on his test, he was okay I wouldn't reccomend him though.
Currently attending his class. Professor is very clean-cut & professional. Don't take POS2041H w/ him unless u really need honors credit. Tests are graded on a half-point scale & an essay worth 10pts making it difficult to earn ur points, which makes up 100pts of 140. He's helpful, clear on topics, & right to the point, expects same on essay portio
The class is very challenging and should only be taken by students whom have a desire to expand their knowledge in the realm of international politics. Professor Labedz is a very intelligent professor. Class attendence is a must and you better be ready to learn when you step in the classroom!
Despite being great to look at, I never wanted to go to class. The maximum amount of points in the course was 140, so if you didn't get mostly full credit on everything--you'll get a poor grade. You don't really learn anything, you really just repeat what he says. Prepare to be completely lost on paper topics.
Very organized, but very hard on grading. No opportunities to get high grades. Very strict on grading. If you do not care about your grade, take him because he is a very intellectual professor.
Dr. Labedz is an amazing teacher, and his class is awesome if you're willing to work for your grade. If you're looking for an easy A, this class is not for you, as he doesn't treat you like a kid who needs to be walked through everything. You'll do a lot of work, but you'll learn a lot.
he's a wonderful teacher, but that doesn't make his class any less difficult. he does a great job of explaining things in detail and i learned a lot in this class, but since he only gave five assignments throughout the semester it's difficult to improve your grade. i would say only take this class if you are majoring in political science.
This professor is so Hot, it's distracting. He is very hard so unless you are blind, a guy, or extremely focused on Politics, don't take this Professor. Also, he is a very intelligent man. So if you take this class pay close attention. ;)
Do not take this guy for an online class. He doesn't give enough assignments to help you with your grade -- just chapter quizzes, midterm, final & 1 project. He's very tough on grading. There's no discussions or anything else expected. If you want to learn about Government in an online class - or get an okay grade -find a different professor.
This professor is a really good teacher. In responce to all the other reviews, he always gives you enough time to take down the notes, ans he will repeat them if you ask. Also he test based on what you cover in class, so if you pay attention then you will do fine. He is a hard grader though. I really liked his class and learned a lot.
This guy is tough. If you want a good grade on the few assignments/test, you HAVE to pay attention! Although these are things most folks hate in a teacher, I have to say he's probably one of my best teachers. He knows what he is talking about and since this is a serious subject (Government) that people need to be well informed, He's the one for job
Having suffered from ADHD throughout childhood and now, finally, stimulant free as an adult, I have to focus very hard to get through a lecture. Dr. Labedz lectures for the full alloted time of class, speaks very quickly, has little patience for slow writers, and is a very rushed human being. If you have trouble focusing, AVOID THIS TEACHER.
dr. labedz is arrogant and he's hard. i could not adapt to his teaching style. he lectures the entire class and to pass his tests requires quick writing and a good attention span. if you can learn this way, take dr. labedz. if, like many people, you prefer to learn from a book and more structured environment, avoid this class or you will do poorly
Perhaps the best all-around teacher I have had. He is very clear about what he expects from the students, and his lectures are very cohesive (perhaps a little boring, too). The tests are very challenging, but all of the test material is taken right from the lectures. Keep up with lecture notes and the book and you will learn a lot.
he is a good teacher and knows what he's talking about. have to pay attention in class in order to understand take a tape recorder. but is also a really hard class if you don't like to be lectured then don't take this class. if you like a challenge then you will like this class
This teacher is an aowesome teacher, he is kind of tough in his test but they are not impossible to pass, he is always ready to help you if you are willing to learn. Makes the government an intresting topic to know about. his jokes are really funny. He is also good looking:)
Good teacher. Relays the material well. On the first day, he told us his class would probably be a challenge, but it wasn't! I got an A.
So he's a good teacher and I've learned a lot, but he doesnt give lots of opportunities to gain points. only 4 exams and a project. His tests are hard, so youve GOT TO STUDY. So in the end, good teacher but i'd take someone else.
Very good teacher. Labedz tells you what to expect, and if you establish a good line of communication w/him, you'll be fine. PAY ATTENTION! That's the only way you will pass. If you're confused, ASK! And Ladies: He's SO good looking!
His class is hard but very helpful. I recomend recording the lectures that he gives because he talks fast, but he will restate something if you ask him to. Even though you don't use the book in class study the material in it for the tests it'll be helpful and also study the lectures that he gives.
He is GREAT, even though the class is hard but it is so interesting, I highly recommend him... I got an A in his class, so you all can do it IF you study...
Challenging class, but very well taught. Take this class if you are interested in Political Science because if you study you will learn a lot.
SEXXXXXXXXYYYYYYYY!!!! Not to mention, by his extensive voabulary, this man is very intelligent. He is always willing to help. All you have to do is study and you can succeed in his class. Take notes and try not to look at his cute butt.
oh man! so hot. best teacher ever, every intelligent, and clear in his material. He's there to help, and if you study, your guarenteed and A. I wish he taught every class at valencia.
Very Hard teacher. do not miss even one class you will lose a huge amount of information and 5 points off of your final grade. Was a straight A honor student before I took this class. Study my butt off and did not get an A. This class will ruin ur average! Also do not take if you are working full time.
This guy is tough!!! I warn you now, do not take this guy if you are not used to hardcore college classes. His lectures are incredibly detailed and his test are very hard. I would recommend only taking him if Political Science is what you intend to major in. He is none the less a great professor and he KNOWS what he is talking about.
VERY DISTRACTING HAND GESTURES. HIS CLASS IS EXTREMELY HARD,HE THINKS HE'S TEACHING IN BUFFALO N.Y. OR HARVARD.DON'T MISS ANY CLASSES OR WILL GET 5 PTS. OFF YOUR FINAL GRADE.HIS TEST ARE RIDICULOUSLY HARD AND HE NEVER CANCELS CLASS & EVEN HAS YOU OUTSIDE SOMETIMES.
Best professor I've had so far. He teaches like all college professors should. All lectures, one small project and a few exams. Class is challenging, but if you at least look at your notes every now and then, you shouldn't have any real problems. Take this course if you have the chance.
This course was both interesting and challenging. Dr. Labedz was skilled at using class participation as a way to keep students engaged. Studying for the exams is necessary and good note taking skills are needed. Dr. Labedz is knowledgable, making his class worth the extra effort.
vey helpful and he is very interested in the subject he is teaching so he keeps you involved and excited....uses alot of examples that make the class fun and easier to understand!
Good teacher, knows his stuff. He lectures every class, so make sure you pay attention and take good notes. Attendence is MANDATORY. If you miss a class without a valid reason, he will mark you 5 points off your final course grade. Tests are hard, so Study. I highly recommend him only if your major has to do with Political Science.
I took his class online. It was a ton of reading. Basically, you read a chapter then take a timed online quiz on that particular chapter. There is also a computer activity, a midterm and a final. Take your time on the midterm and final, he wants full and complete answers. I loved the format of this class, expectations were extremely clear.
ok so you really have to want to learn this stuff to take this class.its sooo hardddd, idk wut these people are talkn about.he warns you at the beginning of the course about how hard his class was gunna be or "challenging" as he would say.he lectures and ur responsible for writing down your notes so if your a very visual learner dont take this clas
This professor is horrible! He uses big words and when asked to simplify he says that he cant! He makes things difficult! Alot of people failed his class or dropped it! You need to study an abundance and take amazing notes to get a decent grade! I dont recomend him!!!
This class is ridiculously tough. Don't take it unless your majoring in political science..I took the class b/c it was mandatory for my major. He talks to fast, his lectures are extremely incomprehensible, and his tests are impossible to ace. In addition i studied my ASS of and ended with a D!
This is the most straightforward prof I'v encountered at VCC. He says what he means and means what he says. I attend every class, take through notes, and study reasonably for exams and am receiving an A+. The only way to do poorly is by taking no responsibility for your grade. He's not going to hand it to you but it's easy to earn!
Dr. Labedz is an awesome teacher, there's no doubt about that. Pay attention in class, take good notes and read the chapters before the test. Do these and you'll get an A. Not an easy class, but not too hard either... if you're willing to do some work. After taking this class, you will have so much more knowledge of US Government. Take it!!!
Dont let him scare you off on the first day!! He warns you that the class is challenging, but he is the best professor I have had at valencia. Take really good notes and study, study, study for exams and you will do well. Ask a questions if you have them. There is no busy work or homework. He keeps you interested and uses funny examples.
his first day speech is a classic. he is a very challenging teacher. he is a genius. he only has 140 points possible in the class. four 25 pt test 15 participation and 25 pt computer lab which is easy. do not miss class or you lose 5 points which is a lot because thers only 140 pts. you will learn a lot from him though,
gr8 teacher ... and is extremly smart, hard to follow n must take notes, exams r everyhard 2 exams 25 points each, 15 pts part. and 50 POINTS final ! b ready to work extremly hard just for a C or D !!!!!!!!
DONT MISS CLASS EVER, ITS NOT WORTH IT BECAUSE YOU WILL FAIL. I REGRET TAKING HIM, BUT HE DOES KNOW WHAT HES TALKING ABOUT. CLASS IS BASED ON 4 TESTS, CLASS PARTICIPATION, AND A TAKE HOME ASSIGNMENT. HIS TESTS ARE VERY DIFFICULT, NOT SO MUCH THE MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS BUT THE ESSAYS ARE RIDICULOUS AND YOU HAVE ONE WITH EVERY TEST.
I passed this class with a C and I was shocked because I thought I would fail. I would only recommend Labedz if you plan on majoring in Political science. He is very knowledgeable but hard to understand. TOO SERIOUS. Good Luck.
great teacher if you actually attend class cuz you will need to get the notes. His test are not that hard if you know what to look for anything he repets more then once is part of the short answer on his test. His test are the same thing as the notes so it was easy to pass with an "A"
This professor is a bit overqualified to be teaching here. He tries too hard to overload the students with information. Also, he is extremely arrogant, like he is mad at the world. However, he does know his stuff which is good for students who like political science and history.
He is a great teacher. He helps you out constantly. Though, I am not sure why he is teaching at Valencia. Very difficult class.
This is the most important class I've ever taken, especially in today political climate. This class will bust all the myths you learned in grade school. I'll impower you take active role in your gov't. Dr. is at VCC b/c he believes CC should have same education as Univ & I'm extremely grateful for that.
I would suggest taking Labedz, if you take your grades seriously than you will be quite proud to succeed in this class, the man knows a great amount of info, just make sure you take good notes and study hard. (his first test is the hardest), to scare you.
First day speech is a front, but the man stands by his word, and does what he says. Take good notes and study the supplemental study guides he sends out and you'll do fine on the tests and essays.
Just come to class!! Scares the freshies the first day, hilarious. Show up, two hundred bucks to have a guy with a doctorate teach something he knows top to bottom. Tests are hard, write a lot!!
hes greatt.! yea is class is difficult at some points, but college isnt meant to be easy where you just fly by, where actually suppose to learn something. and hes the professor to takee!! as long as you goo to class which is mandatory and take notes and studyyy youll do fine. ands for ladies hes amazinggly goodlooking. soo great to look at :)))
His class is so interesting and one learns a lot; however, his tests are extremely hard.
I practically read the entire text book for this class. I took this in SUMMER A-online (first mistake) along with 2 other classes (second mistake). The quizes are not that bad, the assignments are what killed my grade. When answering essay questions he likes DETAIL! So pay attention to detail, ask questions and just maybe you'll get a B.
Great teacher!! took him for spring and got a B, he goes over terms and definitions often so it is hard to not understand them, had 3 test all of the group test the first portion (multiple choice) and individual for the essay which are a piece of cake if you take good notes. Definitely would take him again.
Probably one of the best professors at VCC. Intelligent and well spoken. If you're not interested in the subject material you're probably better off taking someone easier. He tells you the first day of class what to expect. Take good notes and come to class. He doesn't use the book much. Got A's in both POS2041 and INR2002.
Great teacher. The first week of class he explains what's to be expected from you and from him. Very helpful. Be prepared to take A LOT OF NOTES. Everything that you're tested on is on the study guide. definitely not boring. Good class, good subject (even if you're not into Political Science). Take him!
Prof. Labedz makes the class really interesting. You have to attend class because the tests are all based on his lectures. The tests are hard but he provides study guides which help alot. As long as you go and take notes you'll do good in his class.
Get a thick notebook, and write down EVERYTHING he says. You will be tested on all of it. Do not miss class, or you will be lost when studdying for the tests. He goea at a great pace, and is very fair. Amazingly Gorgeous :)
I had a flex class and the original professor left in the middle of it. Had Labedz for 4 weeks but he was amazing. Knows what he is talking about, makes the otherwise boring subject very interesting. Study for the final it is pretty challenging and worth a large portion of the grade. WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING!
This Professor came to our class after our other professor left. He is a lot of work but he makes the lessons interesting and makes sure that you understand it.Pay attention take lots of notes and answer any questions that he gives you!
Great teacher! Explains things so well & goes at a great pace. I thought this class was going to be a drag, but he makes it very interesting. Take A LOT of notes, all his tests are based on his lectures, we never used the book in class. He will tell you what to expect of that class from the beginning, but do not get scared! His looks are a big plus
I know you are looking for the best teacher possible right now. Do not take him unless you are majoring in political science and want a very challenging class. Hardest class i've ever had, barely made it out with a C.
Taking online summer B class, am about to drop. He is awful. Class is much too hard and he grades unfairly. If you care about your GPA, take someone else.
Taking online class and it is terrible. His expectations are for Rollins, not VCC! Don't take unless you plan to go to Rollins. Quizzes are hard, project graded unfairly. Takes off points for no reason. I was an A-student until now!
I really wish I'd seen this site before signing up for his class. I'm a History major and love Political Science, but his class is a joke. It's so difficult, and the notes he gives are incomprehensible. Many of my classmates dropped it, and I wish I had as well. Take someone else!
I had a 4.0 before I came to this class. While he does make every thing very interesting (which isn't easy to do with government),he will repeat anything as much as you need, & there is really no home work, it's his test that will get you.Your grade is basically all tests and it's as if they are designed for government experts.
Not a class for the slackers. There are no written notes or powerpoints. You have to literally write down everything that he says, those are your notes. He does know his stuff, that's for sure though. Texting really pisses him off. He can either be your best or worse teacher. There's only 4 major exams and an internet assignment, no homework.
This teacher is actually one of the best teachers I have ever had. He gets some bad reviews because he actually requires you to learn. Really not that hard if you pay attention, take notes, and study. 4 exams and one computer based learning assignment so you have to do good on all. Attendance VERY mandatory.
He was a great professor! He made things easy to comprehend and he was funny (and really hot). He was very upfront with his teaching. Uses lecture style with powerpoint, and adapts his tests for the class. Only three tests per term, including final. Allowed to bring computer to class.
He's really enjoyable in class and keeps you interested. Not a boring teacher at all, and you really feel like you're learning. Then you get to the exams...*shudder* Unless you are really and I mean REALLY up for working hard at you're grade DO NOT take him. However, if you're a insanely good hard worker or political science major, have at it.
if you care about your grade at all, i wouldnt recommend him. half the class dropped by the withdraw date, and heard that only a handful of people passed the class in the end. i wasnt expecting to pass, and was surprised that i even got a D in the class. you do learn ALOT, and if your a political science major you would probably love his class.
Dr. Labedz is very motivating. I loved the class. He is so funny, and definitely NOT hard on the eyes. You have to work for your grade.
He was one of my favorite professors I have ever had. His class was definitely not the easiest... you have to study and take a LOTTTT of notes. He only grades tests and a couple projects, and grades the projects harshly... at least in my class. Explains everything well...and you really don't need the book til the end.
by far one of my favorite professors at valencia community. he's tough, but in the best way possible. he challenges you, and he makes you learn. but his class is interesting. and the best part, his final is often done in groups. definitely a recommendation .
enjoys what he doing loves this subject. Very dramatic..MUST ATTEND CLASS he takes 5 points off . his grading scales is 140 pts for the whole semester so 5 pts can break you! Quizes/test Grades you super hard! very funny write down everrrrrrrrrrrrrything he say better yet record him..its that serious!
I'm political science/communications major and I took his US Gov class online. There's no busy work, you simply read the book then take a test every week. The professor doesn't seem to care about teaching you ANYTHING since it's an online class, but then grades your major projects and midterm/final CRAZY harsh. Online classes are still classes.
Very knowledgeable teacher. His class however is very challenging and I was surprised I received a good grade. The essential thing is to PAY ATTENTION, COME TO CLASS, AND PAY ATTENTION. Great lectures and barely uses the book at all.
Dr. L is the man. First day speech is like college boot camp, and I highly recommend watching the reaction from freshies. For 200 bucks he teaches the exact same class he taught at a prestigious university. Take him in the Spring - he likes to teach under the giant tree in good weather and it's really enjoyable. Write down everything!!
He loves what he does and is extremely knowledgeable. He takes the time to teach you and doesn't move on if you don't understand. TAKE NOTES AND PAY ATTENTION! His tests are lecture based except for the final which we were allowed to take in groups and use notes. He was very fair, he expects class participation and dedicated students.
*This was an online class.* The professor was very hands-off. I never really needed to contact him with questions. He won't explain your grades unless you meet in person or send him a SASE. I really appreciated his mature teaching style. You have to be self-motivated in his course and FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. Would not call him easy
I got a "D" just because i missed 2 classes...he says if yu waste your time you waste his time..he takes 20 pts off each day you miss. his test are like sucide! and he talks about random things to he gets to his point..so yu end up being lost. you have to be a genious to understand him.
OMG FIRST TEST WAS HARD dropped the class.
This class is very challenging. Im currently taking it and im freaking out. The first test was very hard but he allowed us to take it in groups. He talks all class session. TAKE NOTES, STUDY!!!! and make sure you go to class hes VERY strict on attendance. If you like POS i recommend him.
This class is interesting, but it is HARD. If you're looking for an easy class, go with someone else. He grades you a lot on participation, so if you're not into that, don't take this class. Also he deducts points off your grade for being absent. We just got our first test back today and nearly half the class failed, and are dropping him tonight.
If you're interested in learning about POS than he is the best you can get around here. However, if you're looking for the easy-A GPA booster, then find someone else. Challenging, but very passable. Very straight-forward of a professor.
Hes a great teacher, but not if you're looking for an easy A. Helps you understand politics and government in a more realistic sense. The tests are brutal so you NEED to study, ATTEND EVERY CLASS (he lowers your grade with each absence) & take notes on EVERYTHING he says. If you're not lazy you'll be fine, you just have to work. Good eye candy too.
Took his class because it was a requirement. Got B's throughout the course by the final kills you. 80 hard questions and about an hour to complete it. DO NOT take him unless you are trying to put in a decent amount of work and get an A. It will be nearly impossible to get an A. He teaches like he's at harvard!!!!! STAY AWAY!
Great Teacher. Very clear and to the point. But he expects a lot from his students. Which is not a bad thing but can be tough on someone not looking for a challenge. You'll learn quite a bit in his class.
It's teachers like Dr. Labedz that have a strong impact on a students life educationally. Definitely a challenging course. He'll blow the myth about Gov. Intensive notes and participation will be key in getting a good grade. He shifts gear around final time. Only flaw was assigned readings were never discussed, scares you when you take the final!!!
his class is hard, but not impossible. he's funny and knows everything about political science. it was a great class, but you can't skip it. pay careful attention and take lots of notes, it seriously helps. make sure you study because there's limited points to achieve, but if you do everything he asks (which isn't much) you'll do fine. I got an A
This is a hard class, if you don't study you won't pass the exams. If you don't take good notes, it's probably not the class for you. He tends to use metaphors a lot which can be hard to follow sometimes.
Labedz is HARD. You barely ever use the book, but you have to have it just in case. Hardest tests I've ever taken. STUDY. Pay attention in class and take good notes. You'll pass if you study and pay attention. The lectures are fairly interesting. He keeps on topic. Overall, a hard class but a decent teacher.
I took his class during my first semester at valencia. after the first day i was so nervous but i stuck it out and it was worth it. yes the class is hard but every test was a group test and we got to use notes/computers/textbook on the final. his way of teaching is perfect. :) definitely take his class!
Fantastic teacher! Best teacher I have ever had. Does not teach from the book but on his extensive knowledge. He makes the class fun/interesting, and you WILL learn about government/politics. Makes me excited to vote. If you study hard, you will do fine. Tests are group tests and are slightly hard. Study for essays. Take him.
The problem with this class is that it is not challenging and the lectures are drab. Still, it is a very easy "A".
Did not enjoy this class whatsoever. It was an online class. It's the only B I received for my AA. I would not recommend taking him. You definatley need to read the book. The essay tests are hard and very subjective. Its ridiculous to have to send a self addressed stamped envelope to him to get your graded papers for an online class.
I'm taking him right now, I'm currently getting an A but I probably spend more time studying in this class then I do in all of my classes combined. He is very passionate about teaching, and is very clear in his lectures. Take clear and good notes and review them after every class, and you will do fine. Read his handouts extensively
Professor was great! Took him for an online class and his midterm+final exams were very simple. So were the quizzes&everything was derived straight from the book so reading is essential. He utilizes a great textbook that is actually interesting for those who love politics. Quick to answer any questions and very helpful.Truly enjoyed taking his class.
Awesome as a teacher. Very passionate about his subject. All his classes were interesting and fun. If you want to learn, and you like this subject, he is the right professor for you
1. VERY passionate about Political Science 2. Open book/friend tests 3. Challenging tests, but manageable 4. HOT 5. Keeps lectures interesting and occasionally humorous 6. Very good at speaking 7. Makes the class intruiged about the topic (which is very hard to do with college students) 8. All in all - best teacher I've ever had.
Dr Labedz is very passionate about the subject. You have to listen to lectures and write down your own notes though he hints at what you need to know. Read the book on your own time no homework Only grades are 3 or 4 tests and a independent study. I am more in tune to Politics because of this class toughest B i ever made but worth it TAKE HIS CLASS
Listen and take notes, only 3 exams but you need good notes to pass. Also don't forget to read the assigned chapters, they show up on the exams as well. No homework other than two easy assignments. tough grader, getting an A will require lots of time. If you want to learn about government take this class!!!
Difficult Professor but I would recommend him. He tries to scare everyone off the first day but he is a nice guy. I learned a lot in his class.
This guy really is an awesome teacher. Like i have read previously people have said he tries to scare you off, this is true but he really isnt as hard as he says he is. There are weekly online quizes and only 2 exams (midterm and final) and one "fill in the blanks" style paper. Take good notes in class because that is what you will be tested on.
Professor LaBedz is very interesting. The first class I almost had a panic attack because he makes it sound much more difficult than it actually is. Make sure you TAKE NOTES and actually pay attention. He's very passionate, and a good looking man. This class was very beneficial!
It's a really interesting class because of the way he lectures. You need to make sure that you take notes during the lecture. He has weekly quizzes from the textbook and his final and midterm come from ONLY his lectures and not the textbook. Take his class and make sure to take notes to pass the final and midterm (essay style exam).
I took this class online and would not recommened it! His quizzes contain irrelevant questions, the projects are OVERLY time consuming and will never earn a fair grade, and his emails aren't very sympathetic. This was one of my first B's and I'm terribly disappointed as there was nothing I could have done about it. I had much higher expectations!
DO NOT take this class you will be completely lost. He lectures the whole time and you better take notes because otherwise you will fail his class. We have weekly quizzes online from the book. Students basically have to learn by their own. He repeats the same lecture over and over again but with different examples. He has a midterm and final exam.
DO NOT TAKE HIM. His class is so hard. He doesnt help you with anything, you are on your own. We used our textbooks just for the online quizzes we never used it in class. He tells us that we are on our own and that hes our "tour guy" on this journey. He's lectures are basically make believes that dont make sense. Class average is a 50%.
Took Dr. Labedz's Hybrid class. It wasn't bad at all. He's very straight forward on what he expects of you in his class. There's quizzes due every Sunday which are super easy. His midterm and essay questions were both essay questions. If you listen and take great notes, you'll have no problem with him. He's pretty great!
Tries to scare people off on the first day, but his class is not that bad. Record his lectures and you will have no problem passing his midterm and final.
Took the accelerated version of this class online by mistake. Everything is pretty straightforward. Read the chapter and take the test. A couple of written assignments. Overall decent class.
I took US Govt(hybrid). I attended all of his classes-which is a MUST if you intend on getting an A or B. Buy the book, read the chapters assigned and finish the quizzes on time. no homework. 1 midterm 1 final. He is straight forward, and doesn't take no crap. STUDY. He cares about your education. Don't let him intimidate you. I received a B.
Take as many notes as you can during class and pay close attention to lectures because the essay questions'll be on what's covered in class; read the assigned chapters because he WILL include them in the tests. Procrastinators this class isn't for you. He's funny and a very nice guy. He'll answer your questions if you don't understand.Loved him.
I took this as a summer hybrid course and got an A. If you do the work you will pass. Projects are time consuming, but interesting so not painful to complete.
Prof. Labedz is a very interesting. I took his hybrid class, which is half of the work is online while the other half is in class. Just pass the online quizzes with a C or higher, which are easy if you buy the online textbook. I recommend recording the class, which you are allowed to do. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
I took this class as a hybrid class. Theres a quiz every week but if you buy the ONLINE book you will do great. He tried to scare the class into dropping and it worked. By the end of the semester there were half the number of students than when started. The midterms are on the material learned n class only. the final was a take home essay
What a great professor. It won't be as hard as he makes it look! Don't let him scare you. He makes everything understandable and really knows what he's talking. He likes the subject and will try you to like it too--in a good way--. If you want to learn American Government, take this guy!
Took this hybrid class last semester and loved it. The easiest way to pass this class is to show up and listen. Professor Labedz really wants you to learn, so every class he will give lectures and all you need to do is comprehend what he is saying and take notes. The online quizzes are very simple if you read each chapter before taking the quiz.
Awesome teacher! Had him for Hybrid government class. Super funny lectures, sometimes tends to get carried away but very entertaining. Really cool guy, loves Black Sabbath! Heavy use of textbook but if you stick with his class he reopens the quizzes online at the middle of the term. Really good, one question final, 12 quizzes.
Dr. Labedz is the most interesting professor that I have had thus far. His passion is to teach, and it shows. I didn't have an interest in politics until this semester. He is upbeat, with a sense of humor, and explains things thoroughly! Definitely take this class!
I took this class online, and Professor Labedz is very clear that if you don't comprehend what you read, you probably shouldn't take the class online. Everything was laid out in the syllabus and there was very little interaction, but he tells you that. READ the assignments and stick to the syllabus and you will do fine if you take it online
Awesome professor, smooth online class experience. Always answered my emails on time. Let the class redo every single quiz on the last week of class. This guy doesn't mess around or anything, if you need the credit, take him, read the book, and you will pass.
I actually learned. He teaches using stories that apply to us today. Every test was open book in groups of 4. Awesome guy!
I took this course online for Summer A, I must say this course will go by fast meaning a lot of work to do in one week. The textbook is mandatory all the quiz answers are in the book I strongly recommend you reading the book before you take any quiz. If you don't have time management skills or want to read then don't take this course online.
great professor, I think he's the best political professor we have here at UCF. this guy knows how to teach. I took POT3302 with him last semester and for the fall im taking POT4314 INR4060, with him. NUMBER 1 POLITICAL SCIENCE TEACHER.
I took this class online. I made a terrible decision. Maybe I should have went with a different teacher or took his class in person. By far my hardest class. I am struggling with a C now. There's barely any assignments to help your grade. He grades really hard on reports. The reports are so time consuming but worth so little!
Professor Labedz is an overall great professor. He really cares about teaching and wants his students to learn. He tries to scare everyone during the first class and a few students actually drop the class. There was a quiz online each week. Not a very hard course, just study, take good notes, and pay attention in class. Doesn't hurt that he's HOT!
Definitely not an easy A if that's what you're looking for, but his lectures are interesting and he's very straightforward. I don't enjoy Gov but he makes it a little easier to bear. I would recommend him!
I took his online U.S. gov and it was a great choice. SO EASY. Weekly chapter readings in the textbook and a quiz - that's it! If you have questions, he answers within a day or two with thorough and helpful replies. Definitely take this class if you just need the credit.
Passionate does not even fully describe Dr. Labedz's extreme enthusiasm for political science. There's three exams and 10 points towards participation. He is very thorough which may come off as boring and strenuous, but what he talks about is very interesting! You literally will not pass the class if you do not attend! Taking more classes with him!
Dr. Labedz is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very clear in his lectures and his expectations for students. His class was mostly discussion based. He engages a lot with the students. There were only two tests including a midterm and a final. They were both essay responses. YOU MUST GO TO EVERY SINGLE CLASS TO PASS!!
Do not take this class if you want an easy A, or if you don't wanna risk getting a B. Overall his lectures are very interesting, he scares people on first day of meeting. Tests are always group tests. I read here as participation matters, but I was almost the only one getting it and engaging in his discussions but still didn't get an A. Beware.
He's okay, he does his tests by group which sucks. If I would turn back time i wouldn't choose him
Took him last spring and I did fine. His lectures are interesting and he wants you to really think in his class not just passively learn although he gets frustrated when nobody gets his point or did not understand what he just said. Just study from the study guide and be sure to attend classes, you'll do fine.
Very subjective essay test portion, please please please remember this, if you care deeply about your GPA dont do this to yourself. Take a look at another professor in US Government.
Dr. Labedz was defintely one of my more interesting professors but would take him again. He was very sarcastic and didn't mind telling you honestly what he thinks. His intermissions between subjects are hilarious as are his 'games'. He talked about Star Wars, Harry Potter and Powerpuff girls throughout class relating to things, amazing.
He's an interesting nice guy, but don't take this class if you're not already familiar with the topic. in his classes he drifts a lot of the subject. HW question can't even be found on google, only in the book, require a lot of time gives only an hour. one midterm, one final only the questions are not found in the book, but from his lectures.
Very interesting professor who is not afraid to crack jokes to keep you focused. Attendance is a must, missing just one class can impact you greatly when midterms and finals roll around. Tends to use personal stories and experiences to help teach the lessons instead of regurgitating facts from a text book.
Professor Labedz is a great professor, he gives life examples related to everything he teaches. However, his lectures tend to be sometimes long. Be prepared to read because there is a new test every week. There is one midterm, one final, and one extra credit that I would definitely recommend you to do it. Take good notes and really listen to him.
Lectures are interesting and the games are fun to break the silence/boredom. He is great with lectures but poor in creating tests (I think). The homework needs time and effort, so do well on that. Tests are group tests and the essay questions are from the lectures. His grading criteria is questionable too. Be prepared.
Dr. Labedz, is interesting he wants you to understand what Political Science is really about. I enjoyed the lectures found them to be informative pay attention take notes it will be what you need to write the mid & final exam. There are assignments due every week using the book and 2 research papers this class is difficult so be prepared to work.
Pretty easy class, just take notes and GO TO CLASS. You will not pass if you don't go to class. Quizzes are easy especially if you read. He will reopen them at the end of the semester though so you can bring your grade up if you need to.
Dr. Labedz's lectures are a bit from the norm. It seems like he's drifting off topic a lot, but in reality he's going REALLY (more emphasis than I can type on that) in depth into the explanation. He always manages to swing the topic back around and make everything he said make sense. Not a lot of homework, tests are not too difficult.
Professor Labedz was definitely tough, but gives fair chances to make up for work you've missed. He was very clear about what he expected and how. He respects students and treated our class like adults, allowing us options as far as mid terms and finals. I would definitely take him again, regardless of his tough grading.
Dr. Labedz is really passionate. I took International Relations with him and the class is very different from the U.S. Government class. He gives really good examples so that you can apply the subject to any aspect of your life. I would definitely recommend him. Go to class and take good notes, that is essential!
This class although there is a lot of work was one of the most incredible classes I have ever been in. He is a very fun teacher who wants to see you succeed, in not just the class, but in life as well.
His lectures have a lot of information. And at times like the book, it was over my head. Be ready to read and take notes, they do help. But you must "know" the stuff, to make sense so you can pass the tests. Your testing can be done with a group or individual and also can do an optional essay.
I don't recommend him unless your major is politics. He is a genius and cool but way treats us like we're Harvard students getting a PhD. I felt lost most of the course.
I learned a lot in this class, all you need to do is pay attention and take good notes. The homework were difficult quizzes on a different chapter of the textbook each week. This class was highly educational and I would highly recommend, as long as you are willing to put in the work.
One of the best professors you will find anywhere. Be prepared to take extensive notes. Exams were essays from his lectures (easy to follow) or Multiple choice from the text. I recommend writing essays for the exam. They were not difficult if you took notes. A copy of US constitution, notes from his lecture, and 100% attendance will get you an A.
I honestly thought this class would be a whole lot more interesting but instead it was just him going on tangents every day. Respectable dude, pretty smart, but class was not very enjoyable. Would probably not recommend.
I took this class online and it was difficult. I ended up with a B in the class but it was difficult to understand his instructions for the mid term, final, and an optional paper. The book is a must if you want to pass online. Weekly chapter quizzes that are fairly easy if you read! Very easy to get in contact with, overall a2 nice professor.
Great guy, very engaging and easy to listen to, but he has to tell an extremely long story (usually about his personal life/childhood) before he can get to the main point of what he's talking about, which means you only cover about 2 or 3 things per class. He only teaches in class what the textbook doesn't cover, so you NEED the book, and use it.
Dr. Labedz makes his class seem a lot harder than what it actually is. He is a great professor though!! Sometimes his lectures can be quite boring and he gets upset if you don't pay attention or can answer his questions.
Professer Labedz is hilarious. He makes you work for your grade but its hard not to get a B or above. Its a common sense class really. Don't think too much into it. Also, form a group with a few kids in class, get their numbers and help each other. I did that and everyone in the group chat passed with B's or above. BE FRIENDLY!
If you enjoy learning about government like I did, I think you would enjoy this class. It gives you a chance to learn more in-depth about the government and its history. It will be a bit of a challenge but if you like that, then I would recommend this class.
He's boring. Talks the whole class and barely presents visual material. Do not take it
he is a very well educated professor but he only gives 2 tests and 1 assignment that is graded must pay attention.
Theres a lot of reading, but hes hilarious. Sometimes it may seem like hes lost his mind. If you miss class, find someone who recorded the lecture; otherwise you might fail the midterm or final.
Professor Labedz was very laid back and responds to emails and messages on Canvas in a timely manner. He also gave an opportunity to retake the quizzes for a higher score. There are writing components of the class for the midterm and final, but they are relatively easy. There is also a research assignment that is not too difficult either.
He's a good teacher and a funny one at that but beware of taking his class since there is a lot of reading to do if you want to pass the quizs he posted online. The midterm was hard if you don't listen to his lecture and that goes for the same on the final. Both of the mid&final you pick on but it's an essay question. Just do your best.
You have a quiz for each chapter. It is very difficult to cheat but he does use the exact words in the book if you can find it. For the midterm and final it is an easy A as long as you write thoroughly. The CBLA needs to be detailed as well. His class is easy but all of your work needs to be detailed. two attempt on quizzes. No discussion no papers
Labedz doesn't like giving away answers, so his teaching style follows a rigid but effective system in which he will give the class all the information it needs to answer a question and then guides them along until everyone finds the answer out themselves. Never touched the textbook and still passed. You will take LOTS of notes in his classes too.
I took him for U.S. Government. His assignments are clear. He does not accept late assignments. Most of his assignments are 20 q quizzes and the answers can be found in the textbook. There are only 3 mandatory written assignments. He allows you to retake quizzes once for a higher grade at the end as well.
Dont exprect to learn anything the first few classes! He will spend most of the time talking about his life. He only had 4 major assignments and you can only complete 3 of them. No other grades. He is very nice but a hard grader. He will not hold your hand through this course he wants you to learn! He expects you to have lots of background info.
he's a really good teacher and you can tell he really likes what he does and i did take some valuable things from the class. The class was pretty easy, all you have to do is take good notes and study for the tests because there's no homework but be careful when working in groups on the tests because it did me way more harm than good in the end
The class consists of 20 quizzes, a written assignment, a midterm, and a final. The quizzes are hard and timed for an hour, which my friends and I agreed we needed more. Answers can be found in the book, but chapters are very lengthy and its a short amt of time to look for all of them. Let us retake quizzes once. hard grader on written assignments.
He is a great teacher with clear grading criteria. This class is very easy if you read the textbook. There are about 15 quizzes, a final, and a midterm. Be sure to be very clear and detailed in your writing.
I took his class online in fall of 2020. His class consists of around 20 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. The midterm and final are essay style questions which require you to analyze material learned from the textbook and apply it to real-life scenarios. if you aren't a very strong reader/writer, however, I wouldn't recommend this class.
Honestly, I dont recommend this class for anyone. If you were that one student in Highschool that always showed up early and did nothing but work then sure take it, but classes were never ending about childhood and side track talk, I definitely dont want to ever take this course again. I have my moments that I should have dropped that classs.
Dr. Labedz talks a lot but always keeps you entertained during his lectures. You have to do around 20 quizzes (you can re-take them), a research paper (optional), a computer-based learning activity, the midterm, and the final. The mid-term and final are based on lectures, so make sure you take good notes or record the class.
Straightforward class. 1 quiz a week based on text, midterm based on text. There was a paper analysis that was optional, but the final would then be graded double points if you didn't do it. It's up to the student. Quizzes open up for second attempt later. Sent and replied to emails often and quick. Overall okay class but you're teaching yourself.
Never seen a professor so passionate about his subject material. Overall a pretty rad individual
Really easy class! You have 15 easy quizzes, and plenty of time to do it. There are only 3 written assignments, including the midterm and final term. He also offers extra credit. I didn't stress at all taking this class, I really recommend it!
Great professor! Really pushes you and teaches you many new things. Assignments were fairly easy with open book quizzes. He is a hard grader with the writing assignments but clear feedback for you to do better. As long as you are showing up and participating you will pass this class. Gives extra credit and truly cares about his students success.
Doctor Labedz is a great professor. You can see that he has a genuine passion for teaching and government. His lectures are very entertaining and don't make you lose interest. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
do not take this class if you dont like tests and reading cuz thats all this class is except for the midterm. not kidding the only assignments in this class are quizzes. that being said, all the questions come straight from the chapter for that week so if you take your time and look everything up you should be fine.
A few tips/heads up for this class: -Do good on quizzes, they make up a large part of your grade (quizlet) -You must take notes & pay attention, the midterm & final is based solely on his notes -He does not show your grade on canvas, makes you calculate it yourself idk why -Interesting way of lecturing -Sends long emails: trust me & read them lol
The workload consists of reading a chapter from a textbook then taking a 20 question quiz every week with two projects that aren't tedious. I think Professor Labedz cares about the content he's teaching, he's engaging, thorough, and ensures a level of understanding from his students that allows them to be successful in the course. 10/10 RECOMMEND.
Very straightforward assignments, very easy to navigate and find out what to do. Basically like 15 twenty question quizzes + 2 written assignments (not essays) one of the written assignments is the midterm which is responding to questions in a document and submitting. Professor is nice, quizes due at 5pm on Sunday though which is weird.
Labedz loves what he does and wants students to understand the content. His teaching style is not for everyone, if you can't keep up, take good notes and stay engaged during his lectures don't take his class because the midterm and final are based on notes and understanding of the content. Homework are weekly quizzes from a chapter or two.
This class was bearable for the most part: 15 quizzes, a computer-based learning activity, and bonuses. However, BEWARE that both the mid-term and final exams are essay-based and require knowledge of the course material. To add, the professor never responded to any of my emails or questions, which was disappointing. Overall, I would not recommend!
Professor Labedz was great, I really enjoyed the energy he put while lecturing, there is homework every week and two projects during the term, there is midterm and final exams, a lot of reading but overall I learned a lot in his class, he doesn't take attendance but you would miss a lot of information if you skip class. I recommend taking him.
Professor Labedz's class is challenging but rewarding. The weekly quizzes and essay-style exams demand strong note-taking and critical thinking skills. Leveraging resources like unstuckstudy AI alongside the textbook can really help with study prep.
Dr. Labedz is passionate about the course he teaches, which aids in how the material is presented to the class; his lectures are engaging and interesting, and he knows a lot about the subject. There are 15 weekly chapter quizzes and two projects - only one is mandatory- both the midterm and final exams are essay-style. Take lots of notes in class.
He may come off as cold but from my experience he does seem to care a great deal for his students even taking the time to give plenty of advice. just do your homework and you will probably even do better then me.
Weekly quizzes based off assigned reading. Midterm and Final Exam essay. Only extra credit opportunity is proof of voter registration. Grade is not automatically calculated or updated throughout the semester but your grade post quiz is available so you could calculate it yourself. Simple, easy to follow class. 10/10 recommend as an online class
This class requires a textbook. There is 1-2 quizzes a week with a midterm that is 5 essay style questions and a final that is the same format. The professor gave us 2 attempts on each quiz. There was one opportunity for extra credit. This professor is easy as long as you get the work done. I would recommend him.
